• Elisha M. October 11, 2020, 11:17 pm Hailey missed a couple virtual sessions for my son and was late to others. She seems to enjoy her job but has horrible time management skills. I thought doing telemedicine would be easier but the fact that she didn't communicate well and just blatantly forgot appointments and never followed back up with me was really discouraging. Weinstein-Rosen

Allyson Weinstein-Rosen is owner and founder of A to Z Speech Therapy in Brooklyn Heights. She is a New York State licensed, ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist.  Allyson received her Bachelors of Arts in Communicative Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and went on to receive her Masters of Science. in Speech-Language Pathology at Hunter College School of Health Sciences. She started her career working at various hospitals with neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients, training and supervising graduate students and clinical fellows, and working on interdisciplinary teams. She went on to work in a Special Education setting, treating children with speech, language, learning and pragmatic language disorders, while also working as an undergraduate clinical instructor at Touro College and opening A to Z Speech Therapy in the fall of 2003.  

Allyson provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to pediatric patients of all ages with various communicative and learning disorders.  She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology (AAPPSPA) as well as a certified Fast ForWord provider.  Allyson enjoys collaborating with parents, teachers, doctors and other therapists to provide an individualized and functional, whole child approach to therapy. She has proudly assembled a dedicated team of therapists who provide the highest level of service to children of all ages.

Jennifer Basner holds a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Hofstra University and a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Jennifer specializes in providing therapy to children who present with receptive and expressive language delays and disorders, deficits in social pragmatic skills, and articulation and phonological disorders. Her special interests include expanding language skills through play-based activities for early learners as well as working with individuals to improve social pragmatic language ability.

Emma Tushman, M.S. CCC-SLP, TSSLD is a New York State licensed and ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certified Speech-Language Pathologist. She holds her certificate as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Emma earned a Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University. She specializes in providing therapy to children who present with receptive and expressive language delays and disorders, deficits in social pragmatic skills, and articulation and phonological disorders. Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology from Loyola University Maryland and her master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology from Northeastern University. She is a New York State licensed speech-language pathologist and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA and a Certificate for Teaching Students with Speech-Language Disabilities (TSSLD) in New York. Jennifer has experience working in early intervention, private practice, and private school settings with children aged 0-21 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, expressive and receptive language disorders, pragmatic language disorders, feeding disorders, articulation disorders, cognitive delays, and genetic disorders. She is passionate about working with children to improve their communication skills and improve their ability to functionally interact with others in their homes, schools, and communities.

Shaina Smith is the Office Manager at A to Z Speech Therapy with administrative experience working for political campaigns, insurance companies, and non-profits. She studied Communication with a focus on Media and Journalism at SUNY Geneseo. She is happy to join the A to Z Speech Therapy team and help families provide care for their little ones!

New restrictions on puberty blockers

New regulations restrict the prescribing and supply of puberty-suppressing hormones to children and young people under 18.

The government has today introduced regulations to restrict the prescribing and supply of puberty-suppressing hormones , known as ‘puberty blockers’, to children and young people under 18 in England, Wales and Scotland.

The emergency ban will last from 3 June to 3 September 2024. It will apply to prescriptions written by UK private prescribers and prescribers registered in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.

During this period no new patients under 18 will be prescribed these medicines for the purposes of puberty suppression in those experiencing gender dysphoria or incongruence under the care of these prescribers.

The NHS stopped the routine prescription of puberty blocker treatments to under-18s following the Cass Review into gender identity services.

In addition, the government has also introduced indefinite restrictions to the prescribing of these medicines within NHS primary care in England, in line with NHS guidelines.

The new arrangements apply to gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues - medicines that consist of, or contain, buserelin, gonadorelin, goserelin, leuprorelin acetate, nafarelin or triptorelin.

This action has been taken to address risks to patient safety.

Patients already established on these medicines by a UK prescriber for these purposes can continue to access them. They will also remain available for patients receiving the drugs for other uses, from a UK-registered prescriber.

I splurged and got 4 hands and full body. I went in with a LOT of pain and left feeling so much better. I don't come out to this area from time to time and when I do, I will be returning for a massage. I highly recommend and if you're in the area, stop by. The facilities were clean and smelled nice/ pleasant. Thank you

Wow, one of the worst massage I've ever experienced! I came in for a deep tissue massage and got a mediocre massage. I even asked the lady to go deeper and she barely applied any pressure. Go at your own risk. The massage was basic and sloppy overall.

Wow wow wow!! After a long day at Disneyland, me my mom and sister came here to get a massage- best decision. Linda and the other two ladies working are phenomenal. So friendly and very very skilled at their craft. After the service my mom and sister and I were talking about how we can use our points to fly back down and see these ladies once a month because they are just so magical. The spa is small but cozy and clean. We did the 60 min combo which is 30 min body and 30 min feet.... I thought it would be a clothes on chair massage but we undressed and laid on a table. I was so relaxed I was fighting to stay awake so I could enjoy every minute. Try this place!!!!

Omg! I cannot believe this place was right down the street from my parents house! I wished I found out about them sooner. I literally just finished my 90 min massage with Linda and I'm sitting in the car writing this review because that's how good she made me feel lol. Wow! I told her my spots that needed work and she got everything and more! She also gives a bomb a$$ foot massage. I almost want to keep her name a secret so I can't share her lol. Thank you so much Linda! I will definitely be back and tell everyone about this place! Thanks!
