Last week Wulan asked me to visit her house in Semarang. She said that if I came there, she would like to ask to visit some tourist resorts in Semarang.
Firstly, I went to Semarang by bus. At nine in the morning I arrived there. Then I directly went to Wulan's house. After few minutes taking a rest. Wulan and I went to Bandungan by motorbike. On the way we saw beautiful sceneries that reminded us to the Lembang Bandung.
Secondly, we went to Gunung Ungaran by riding on horseback. It was scary. Then we went to get a closer look at the mountain. We took pictures of the beautiful sceneries.
Thirdly, we went to the Zoo at Mankang. We saw many amazing animals there and one that impressed us was an elephant having a shower.
Finally in the afternoon we went home. Then I permitted to leave for my home town. What I did in Semarang left me many beautiful memories.
It was a fun trip that I have had.

Minggu lalu Wulan meminta saya untuk berkunjung ke rumahnya di Semarang. Dia bilang kalau saya datang ke sana, dia ingin mengajak saya mengunjungi beberapa tempat wisata di Semarang.
Pertama, saya pergi ke Semarang dengan menggunakan bus. Pukul sembilan pagi saya tiba di sana. Kemudian saya langsung menuju ke rumah Wulan. Setelah beberapa menit beristirahat. Saya dan Wulan pergi ke Bandungan dengan menggunakan sepeda motor. Dalam perjalanan kami melihat pemandangan indah yang mengingatkan kami pada Lembang Bandung.
Kedua, kami pergi ke Gunung Ungaran dengan menunggang kuda. Rasanya menakutkan. Kemudian kami pergi untuk melihat lebih dekat ke gunung tersebut. Kami mengambil foto-foto pemandangan yang indah.
Ketiga, kami pergi ke Kebun Binatang di Mankang. Kami melihat banyak binatang yang menakjubkan di sana dan salah satu yang membuat kami terkesan adalah seekor gajah yang sedang mandi.
Akhirnya pada sore hari kami pulang. Kemudian saya izin untuk pulang ke kota asal saya. Apa yang saya lakukan di Semarang meninggalkan banyak kenangan indah.

It was about nine A.M. We arrived at Yogyakarta. First of all we visited our uncle. We stayed there for an hour. Then we went to Parangtritis beach. We got there at eleven o'clock. There were a lot of tourists because it was holiday. I saw many foreign visitors too. My parents watched us playing with sand in the beach. We did not swim and take a bath since the wave was rough. After having lunch, we went on our picnic to the museum and Malioboro shopping centre.
We drove back to Semarang at 7 o'clock and arrived home at ten. We were tired but happy.
Minggu lalu, saya pergi ke Yogyakarta bersama keluarga. Ayah saya mengemudikan mobil. Ibuku duduk di sampingnya. Saya dan adik saya duduk di kursi belakang.

In May 1588 Spain was the most powerful country in the world: King Philip Il of Spain was determined to conquer England and became its King. He ordered, a large number of ships to be prepared to set sail and invade England.
At first Queen Elizabeth I ignored the rumors of a Spanish /invasion, but soon she came to realize the great danger the country was in. And she made sure that England would be prepared for a battle. Eventually the Spanish were ready and over 100 ships set sail towards the English Channel.
As soon as the Spanish ships were seen from the English coast, fires were lit on the hills as a signal that the invasion was coming.When the Spanish ships got close enough the English navy closed in and a great sea battle began.
Once the battle began it was obvious to the Spanish that they would be defeated. Not only did the English sailors have stronger and more powerful ships, they also made terrifying use of fire ships. Boats were deliberately set ablaze and then sent amongst the Spanish fleet.
At last the battle was over. A few Spanish ships escaped and eventually reached home, and many were sunk and to this day some of either wrecks still lie on the seabed in the English Channel.

Fortunately, the earthquake did not collapse my home. I thanked God happily because my wife and children were safe.

The cars were about 30 cm(s) long and 15 cm(s) wide with big tread on the tires and a flap on the front so that they wouldn't tip over.
Then trophies were rewarded to the winners. When we were just going, a boy was controlling a car around the track and it was going very fast. Someone else had a three wheeler motorbike, but it didn't go as fast. Then we had to go, so we picked up the car and then we left.

Next, I began my jogging and saw my gorgeous neighbor, jogging to. I thought it was a good fortune to omit the gap between us. So I jogged to him and say hello. But, it's how poor of me, it was not him. It just someone I never met before who looked like to him. I was going home with people laugh at me along side of the street.
When I got home, the breakfast already settled and I immediately spooned a big portion of rice and ate. After I have done my breakfast my mother came up and said that the meal had not ready yet and she said that I may have a stomachache if I ate it. It was proven.I had a stomachache for the next three days.
I past my weekend lie down on me bed and be served as a queen. That was not really bad, wasn't it.

The last day, we spent our time in Sangeh. We could enjoy the green and shady forest. There were so many monkeys. They were so tame but sometimes they could be naughty. We could make a close interaction with them. After that, we went to Sukowati market for shopping. That was my lovely time. I bought some Bali T-Shirt and souvenirs.
In the evening, we had to check out from the hotel. We went back home bringing so many amazing memories of Bali.

Last holiday, my beloved wife and I visited Lembah Pelangi Waterfall in Ngarip District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province, Indonesia. It was the first time for me to visit such a wonderful waterfall.
To reach the waterfall location, we should go on foot after having around three hours trip riding a motorcycle from Bandar Lampung, the capital city of Lampung.
When we arrived there, I was amazed by the beautiful scenery of the waterfall. The air was so fresh at that time and I could not bear to jump into the water immediately.
It is quite windy there and all I could see only green, green, and green. Hearing the sound of falling water while we were swimming made me feel peaceful and relaxing.
Finally, the day was getting dark and it was time for us to go home. It was such an unforgettable experience for me. I really enjoyed it.
Liburan kemarin, saya dan istri tercinta mengunjungi Air Terjun Lembah Pelangi di Kecamatan Ngarip, Kabupaten Tanggamus, Provinsi Lampung, Indonesia. Ini adalah pertama kalinya saya mengunjungi air terjun yang begitu indah.
Untuk mencapai lokasi air terjun, kami harus berjalan kaki setelah menempuh sekitar tiga jam perjalanan dengan mengendarai sepeda motor dari Bandar Lampung, ibu kota Lampung.
Sesampainya di sana, saya sangat takjub dengan pemandangan air terjun yang begitu indah. Udara di sana sangat segar dan saya tidak tahan untuk segera melompat ke dalam air.

Pengertian Biography Text
Secara harafiah, Biography terdiri dari dua kata yaitu “ Bios ” artinya hidup dan “ Graphia ” artinya tulisan . Teks biografi itu menggambarkan riwayat hidup seseorang secara nyata, biasanya ditulis melalui sudut pandang yang lain.
Biografi adalah sebuah teks yang bercerita mengenai kisah kehidupan seseorang yang lebih kompleks dari sekadar daftar riwayat hidup dan data-data pekerjaanya. Biasanya, teks biografi menceritakan lebih dalam lagi tentang perasaan yang dihadapi oleh seseorang dalam menghadapi suatu kejadian atau kehidupan seseorang.
Bagian-Bagian Biography Text
1. orientation.
Pada tahap orientasi, bagian ini akan memberi pembaca informasi tentang latar belakang mengapa biografi ditulis. Paragraf pembuka menjawab pertanyaan 5w+1h.
Pada tahap events ini akan mengisahkan peristiwa atau kejadian yang dialami tokoh yang akan ditulis biografinya. Bagian ini berisi penjelasan suatu cerita seperti pemecahan masalah, proses lain, dan berbagai peristiwa yang dialami tokoh sebelum mencapai kesuksesan. Pada intinya, diceritakan secara kronologis yang merujuk pada waktu tertentu.
3. Re-Orientation (Closing)

Short Biography of Dewi Sartika Dewi Sartika was the leading figure for the education for Indonesia women. She was born on 4 December 1884 and died on 11 September 1947. The most important acts she made were when she founded the first school for women. Because of it, she was acknowledged formally as National Hero in 1966. Dewi Sartika was born in Cicalengka on 4 December 1884 in the aristocratic Sundanese family. Her father is R. Rangga Somanegara and her mother is R. A. Raja pemas. According to some biographies, as a child, Dewi Sartika often pretended to be a teacher. He studied in the Dutch School. She lived with her uncle after her father died and then received Sundanese education culture there. In 1899 she decided to move to Bandung. She founded Sekolah Isteri on 16 January 1904 in Bandung. The school took place at Badung Regency’s Pendopo but then relocated to Ciguriang Street. In the new location, the name of the school was changed to Sekolah Kaoetamaan Isteri. In 1912, the school became so popular and had nine branches in West Java. In 1920, all cities in West Java have one school. However, the school changed its name in September 1929 to Sekolah Raden Dewi.
Short Biography of Leonardo da Vinci Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath who was born in 15 April 1452 and died 2 may 1519. He was famous because of his interest on many areas, including architecture, sculpting, music, science, engineering, mathematics, anatomy, literature and many more. He is also the man who has been called as the father of iconology, architecture and paleontology. Some experts on aeronautic said that Leonardo da Vinci was the man who firstly put the foundation of helicopter, parachute and tank. Short Biography of Albert Einstein Albert Einstein was born near the end of the 1800s in Ulf, Germany. He graduated from the University of Zurich in Switzerland at age 26. That was also when he did his famous work in physics. Fourteen years later he won the Nobel Prize for Physics. For the next ten years he lived in Germany and traveled a lot to talk to other scientists. Then in the early 1930s he had to leave Germany because of Hitler and the Nazi party. He moved to the United States. From that time until his death he lived in Princeton, New Jersey. He died at the age of 74.
Biography of Sukarno, Indonesian First President Sukarno was the first president of Indonesia. He was born in 6 June 1901 and died in 21 June 1970. He led his country to fight against Netherlands and the man who proclaimed the independence. Sukarno was a prominent leader of nationalist movement during the colonial period. He spent more than a decade under the detention before released by the Japanese force. Ir. Sukarno and all his nationalist fellows collaborated to collect support in spreading nationalist ideas. When Japan surrender the Indonesian independence was declared by Sukarno and Mohammad Hatta on 17 August 1945. At the same time, Sukarno was appointed as the president and Mohammad Hatta as vice president. After became president, Sukarno had to fight once again against resisting Dutch re-colonization efforts. After parliamentary democracy chaos in 1957, Sukarno put an autocratic system called Guided Democracy. It successfully ended the rebellions and instability which were threatening the country. In the early 1960s, Sukarno brought the country to the Soviet by giving protection and support to the Indonesian Communist Party. Unfortunately, the 30 September movement in 1965 ended the communist era and Sukarno’s position as president was replaced by Suharto, the man who became president for 32 years. After Suharto in charged, Sukarno was exiled to Bogor and spent the rest of his life there.
Biography of Biography of Walt Disney Walt Disney was born with the name Walter Elias Disney on December 5th, 1901 at Chicagos Hermosa Community Area. Biography of Bung Hatta Bung Hatta is one of “The Proclamators” of Indonesia Independence. Born with full name Mohammad Hatta on 12 August 1902 at Fort de Kock, West Sumatra, Dutch East Indies, and Bung Hatta played important roles in Indonesian strive for Independence. He is well-educated person that strive not with physical power but used intelligent instead. After the independence day of Indonesia, Mohammad Hatta became the first vice president of the country and became prime minister later on. Walter Elias Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1996) was an American animated film producer and animator. He was also the creator of an American-based theme park called Disneyland, and the founder of the highly profitable corporation, now known as The Walt Disney Company. Disney was born in Chicago to Elias Disney and Flora Call. He was named after his father and after his father’s close friend Walter Parr, the minister at St. Paul Congregational Church. In 1906, his family moved to a farm near Marceline, Missouri. The family sold the farm in 1909 and lived in a rented house until 1910, when they moved to Kansas City. Disney was nine years old. According to the Kansas City, Missouri, Public School District records, Disney began attending the Benton Grammar School in 1911, and continued his formal education there until he graduated on June 8, 1917. During this time, Disney also enrolled in classes at Kansas City Art Institute. In the fall of 1917, Disney rejoined his family. He left school at the age sixteen and became a volunteer ambulance driver in World War I, after he changed his birth certificate to show his year of birth as 1900 in order to be able to enlist in the service. He served as a member of the American Red Cross Ambulance Force in France till 1919.
Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany, on March 14, 1879. He grew up in Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. Einstein taught himself geometry when he was 12 years old. School bored him because it required endless memorizing and reciting. He often skipped classes to study on his own or to play his violin. Yet he graduated from college in 1900 and earned a Ph.D. degree in 1905. From 1902 to 1907, Einstein worked as a clerk in the patent office in Zürich, Switzerland. His job left him plenty of time to think. Einstein thought about the rules that govern the way the world works. For example, he explained why small particles in liquids wiggle around, a movement called Brownian motion. He said that the particles were being bumped into by tiny bits of matter called atoms that are too small to see. He also thought about light and electricity. Einstein knew that light shining on metal sometimes causes electricity to flow. He explained this result, called the photoelectric effect, by saying that light is made of tiny bundles of energy called photons. Photons hitting the metal knock particles called electrons away. Since electricity is simply moving electrons, he had solved the mystery of the photoelectric effect. In 1921, Einstein won the most famous prize in science, the Nobel Prize, for this work. Another thing Einstein thought about was time. He said that time does not always flow at the same rate. He proposed that motion affects time. He called this idea the special theory of relativity. Einstein then came up with his general theory of relativity. This theory has a new explanation for gravity. Einstein said that gravity comes from curves or dents in the fabric of space. Objects make dents in space the way a bowling ball makes a dent in a mattress. The Moon falls into the dent made by Earth and rolls around the Earth. Scientists later proved that the dent a star makes in space-time bends light as the light passes by. Einstein changed physics by showing that new ideas could come just from thinking. Apa yang Dimaksud dengan Recount Text? (What is Recount Text)
Apa pengertian recount text? Definisi r ecount text adalah jenis teks bahasa Inggris yang menceritakan kembali kejadian atau peristiwa di masa lampau. Cerita tersebut dapat berupa aksi atau aktivitas sebelum seseorang menuliskan teks.
Kalau dalam bahasa Inggris, r ecount text is a text which retells events or experiences in the past. Tanpa disadari, kita pasti sering menceritakan pengalaman lampau dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Misal, bercerita tentang aktivitas berlibur seperti di artikel 11 Cerita Liburan Bahasa Inggris Singkat dan Artinya , mengikuti perlombaan, sampai cerita saat momen perayaan ulang tahun.
Tujuan Recount Text (Purpose of Recount Text)
Ada beberapa tujuan dari teks recount , yaitu:
1. Memberikan informasi pada pembaca
Recount text dapat digunakan untuk memberikan informasi tentang suatu kejadian atau pengalaman di masa lalu pada orang lain. Dalam hal ini, informasi tersebut bisa berupa laporan perjalanan, pengalaman pribadi, atau laporan tentang suatu acara.
2. Menghibur pembaca
Seperti kebanyakan teks lain, recount text juga berfungsi untuk menghibur pembaca. Pasalnya, jenis teks bahasa Inggris yang satu ini umumnya ditulis untuk menceritakan sesuatu yang menyenangkan.
3. Merefleksikan suatu hal
Dalam beberapa kasus, teks recount bisa dijadikan sebagai media untuk merefleksikan dan menganalisis peristiwa atau pengalaman tertentu. Inilah alasan mengapa diary dan jurnal pribadi termasuk sebagai recount text .
4. Mendokumentasikan pengalaman penting
Selain melalui foto dan video, kamu juga dapat mengabadikan pengalaman penting di masa lalu melalui teks recount.
5. Mempelajari sejarah
Dalam konteks pendidikan, recount text sering digunakan untuk mempelajari dan memahami peristiwa sejarah.
Generic Structure of Recount Text (Struktur Recount Text)
Guys , perlu kita ketahui bahwa teks apapun umumnya memiliki struktur penulisan. Pada teks recount pun tentu ada struktur yang harus kita ikuti.
Generic structure of recount text ada tiga, yaitu orientation berupa pengenalan, series of event yang berisi rangkaian cerita, serta re-orientation yang menuangkan rangkuman dan ending dari keseluruhan isi cerita .
Ayo simak pembahasan struktur dan contoh teks recount dengan saksama!
1. Orientation
Kamu sadar nggak, kalau sebagian besar teks akan diawali dengan orientation . Dalam bahasa Indonesia, artinya orientasi alias pengenalan. Sudah pasti, isi dari orientation adalah informasi mengenai tokoh atau karakter, lokasi, waktu kejadian, etc .
Melalui orientation , harapannya pembaca dapat memahami jalan/alur cerita dari penulis. Contoh orientation dalam recount text :
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to go on a vacation to one of my dream countries, Turkey. I went there with my husband. We departed from Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang. We had a very long flight for around 12 hours by Turkish Airlines and we landed at Istanbul Airport, Istanbul.
Beberapa tahun lalu, aku berkesempatan untuk pergi berlibur ke salah satu negara impian saya, Turki. Aku pergi ke sana dengan suamiku. Kami berangkat dari Bandara Soekarno-Hatta di Tangerang. Kami memiliki penerbangan yang sangat panjang selama sekitar 12 jam dengan Turkish Airlines dan kami mendarat di Bandara Istanbul, Istanbul.
Dapat kita lihat dari potongan paragraf di atas, bahwa penulis mengenalkan tokoh, lokasi, dan juga waktu peristiwa yang akan diceritakan.

2. Series of Events
Kamu familiar dengan kata events ? Yes, event adalah kejadian, sedangkan series berarti rangkaian. Dalam bagian ini, penulis akan menuliskan rangkaian mengenai peristiwa/kejadian yang mereka alami (inti dari recount text ).
Selain itu, biasanya para author mengungkapkan personal remarks on the events , alias pernyataan pribadi mengenai cerita yang ditulis. Contoh paragrafnya seperti ini:
On the first day, due to exhaustion, we just stayed at the hotel near Hagia Sophia to rest. The next day, we left for Taksim to visit one of the popular destinations, Galata Tower. We saw a lot of shopping centers and local authentic cafes there. After that, we visited one of the Malaysian restaurants that I really wanted to visit in the Blue Mosque area.
Pada hari pertama, karena kelelahan, kami hanya menginap di hotel dekat Hagia Sophia untuk beristirahat. Keesokan harinya, kami berangkat menuju Taksim untuk mengunjungi salah satu destinasi populer, Galata Tower. Kami melihat banyak pusat perbelanjaan dan kafe otentik lokal di sana. Setelah itu, kami mengunjungi salah satu Restoran Malaysia yang sangat ingin kami kunjungi di area Blue Mosque .
3. Re-orientation
Dalam membuat recount text , akhir dari sebuah cerita disebut dengan re-orientation . Pada bagian ini, penulis akan menuangkan rangkuman dan kesimpulan dari keseluruhan cerita sekaligus memberitahu ending -nya ( sad/happy ) . Jika ada, author juga akan menambahkan kesan dan pesan untuk pembaca. Contoh sederhana dari re-orientation :
A trip to Turkey a few years ago was an experience I will never forget for the rest of my life. The bonus, two weeks after arriving in Indonesia, God trusts us to have the child. We think that having quality time with a partner is very important.
Perjalanan ke Turki beberapa tahun yang lalu adalah pengalaman yang tidak akan pernah saya lupakan seumur hidup. Bonusnya, dua minggu setelah tiba di Indonesia, Tuhan mempercayakan kami untuk memiliki anak. Kami berpikir bahwa memiliki waktu yang berkualitas dengan pasangan sangat penting.

Ciri-Ciri Recount Text (Characteristics of Recount Text)
Recount text memiliki dua ciri utama, yaitu:
1. D alam recount text tidak ada konflik yang diceritakan oleh penulis , berbeda dengan teks naratif bahasa Inggris yang memiliki conflict pada strukturnya.
2. Selalu ada urutan cerita secara kronologis , misal ada cerita di hari pertama, hari kedua, dan seterusnya.
Language Features of Recount Text (Kaidah Kebahasaan Recount Text)
Saat akan membuat recount text , tentu ada beberapa kaidah kebahasaan yang perlu kamu perhatikan. Hal ini bertujuan untuk membedakan recount text dengan jenis teks yang lain.
Mengutip dari berbagai sumber, terdapat 10 language features of recount text :
1. Using simple past tense
Kamu masih ingat dengan tenses ini, kan ? Yap , dalam recount text bahasa inggris, sebagian besar cerita diisi menggunakan kalimat simple past tense untuk menunjukkan aktivitas di masa lampau.

Went merupakan bentuk simple past tense dari go .
2. Using specific participant
Recount text juga erat hubungannya dengan specific participant , yaitu sesuatu yang memiliki objek tertentu, tidak bersifat umum, dan unik (hanya ada satu). Contohnya antara lain Istanbul Airport , Borobudur Temple, Muara Angke, Geusan Ulun Museum, etc .
3. Using personal participant
Personal participant contohnya seperti I, my group, my friends, my husband, etc . Dalam recount text , biasanya personal participant akan muncul di bagian orientation sebagai pengenalan tokoh ataupun karakter dalam cerita.
4. Using action verb
Mengutip dari artikel 11 Tipe Kata Kerja Bahasa Inggris (Verb) Beserta Contohnya , action verb adalah kata kerja yang merujuk pada tindakan yang kamu lakukan dan bisa terlihat oleh orang lain. Verb ini dikenal juga dengan dynamic verb . Contoh kalimatnya:
First, we visited Parangtritis beach. (Pertama, kami mengunjungi pantai Parangtritis.)
Visited adalah kata kerja yang bisa terlihat oleh orang lain.
5. Using linking verb
Masih soal kata kerja, sebagai teks yang menceritakan rangkaian peristiwa tentu tak lepas dari linking verb , yaitu kata kerja yang menghubungkan antara subjek dan keterangan.
Tapi, yang harus digarisbawahi adalah, linking verb digunakan untuk memberi keterangan deskriptif dan identitas dari subjek. Jadi, bukan merujuk pada tindakan yang dilakukan oleh subjek.
Beberapa contoh yang termasuk linking verb adalah be, become, seem, appear, grow. Be terdiri dari is , am , dan a re untuk simple present tense . Sementara itu, yang berlaku pada recount text adalah bentuk simple past tense – nya, yaitu was dan were . Contoh kalimatnya:
Yesterday, I was busy towards the end of the month and I had to work late. (Kemarin, saya sibuk menjelang akhir bulan dan saya harus bekerja lembur.)
Di sana, was berfungsi untuk menghubungkan antara I dan busy towards the end of the month.
6. Using chronological connection/sequence connective
Chronological connection atau yang dikenal juga sebagai c hronological connector/connector of sequence adalah kata sambung yang digunakan untuk menyatakan urutan terjadinya peristiwa. Tentunya kaidah ini sejalan dengan definisi dari recount text itu sendiri.
Chronological connector berguna untuk menyatakan aktivitas yang terjadi lebih dulu dan mana yang terjadi selanjutnya. Kata sambung ini memudahkan pembaca untuk memahami urutan peristiwa secara keseluruhan. Contoh c hronological connector adalah then, next, in the end, in addition, dan lain sebagainya. Perhatikan contoh berikut ini:
We looked around in that Zoo, and also took pictures of those animals. Then , we felt hungry, so we went to a restaurant. (Kami melihat-lihat di Kebun Binatang itu, dan juga memotret binatang-binatang itu. Kemudian , kami merasa lapar, jadi kami pergi ke restoran.)
7. Using conjunction
Conjunction adalah bagian dari part of speech yang tugasnya adalah menghubungkan dua kata, frasa, atau kalimat. Contoh-contoh conjunction dalam recount text adalah and, or, until, although, while, but, and many more . Begini jika diaplikasikan dalam kalimat:
One of my friends warned me that Samyang was very spicy, but I didn’t want to listen to her. (Salah satu teman saya memperingatkan saya bahwa Samyang sangat pedas, tetapi saya tidak mau mendengarkannya.)
8. Using adverbs
Secara sederhana, adverbs adalah kata keterangan. Ia memberikan lebih banyak informasi atau mendeskripsikan lebih detail dari kata kerja, kata sifat, dan kata lainnya. Contoh extremely, carefully, slowly , etc . Kalau dalam kalimat, contohnya adalah:
She walked carefully. (Dia berjalan dengan hati-hati .)
Carefully berperan untuk menerangkan kata kerja walked .
9. Using adverb(ial) phrase
Loh, apa bedanya adverbial phrase dan adverb ? Sekilas memang sulit untuk membedakannya, guys . Adverbial phrase adalah frasa yang bersifat adverb , alias frasa yang fungsinya menjelaskan. Kalau adverb adalah bagian kalimat yang fungsinya menjelaskan keseluruhan kalimat, verb, adjective, atau adverb lain.
Nah , adverbial phrase adalah bagian dari adverb , tapi nggak selalu satu kata dan biasanya merupakan bagian dari klausa atau frasa. Adverbial phrase itu sendiri jenisnya beragam, tapi yang paling banyak digunakan dalam teks recount adalah adverb phrase of time dan adverb phrase of place yang berfungsi untuk menerangkan waktu dan tempat kejadian. - Adverb phrase of time : Camelia found her book in the classroom . (Camelia menemukan bukunya di kelas.)
- Adverb phrase of place : My team won the volleyball tournament last week . (Tim saya memenangkan turnamen bola voli minggu lalu.)
10. Using time connectives and sequence connective
Jadi guys , connectives ini adalah kata atau frasa yang menghubungkan bagian kata, frasa, klausa atau kalimat. Kalau kamu lihat lagi di point nomor 6 dan 7, mereka adalah bagian dari connectives . Adapun time connectives contohnya adalah in the meantime, the next day, dsb.
Selain itu, ada juga sequence connective untuk mengurutkan sebuah informasi berdasarkan langkahnya . Contoh: before, after, then, first, second, third, finally, at last.

Macam-Macam Recount Text (Types of Recount Text)
Selanjutnya yang perlu diketahui adalah recount memiliki beberapa jenis, nih .
Jenis recount text terdiri dari personal recount, factual recount, imaginative recount, serta historical recount . Berikut penjelasannya:
1. Personal Recount Text
Personal recount text adalah salah satu jenis teks yang bertujuan untuk menceritakan mengenai pengalaman pribadi penulis. Personal recount adalah jenis paling umum yang sering ditemukan dalam penulisan recount .
2. Factual Recount Text
Sudah pernah dengar jenis teks ini? Factual recount text merupakan cerita untuk menyajikan laporan terkait peristiwa yang terjadi berdasarkan fakta (benar-benar terjadi).
Jadi, ini tidak terpaku pada kejadian personal, bisa juga kejadian orang lain. Contohnya seperti laporan mengenai percobaan sains a.k.a ilmu pengetahuan ataupun laporan kepolisian.
3. Imaginative Recount Text
Bukan cuma teks naratif, recount text juga memiliki jenis imaginative . Imaginative recount adalah teks yang biasa digunakan seseorang sebagai cerita dari peristiwa imajinatif yang dialami oleh seseorang. Contohnya recount text yang menceritakan pengalaman penulis mengenai khayalan yang ia dapat dari mimpi.
4. Historical Recount Text
Historical recount text adalah bentuk recount text yang isinya menceritakan peristiwa sejarah. Intinya, teks ini adalah cerita sejarah dalam bahasa Inggris. Eits, tapi bedakan dengan narrative ya.
Kalau di narrative , sifatnya adalah khayalan. Sementara itu dalam recount text , sejarah yang diceritakan memang benar-benar terjadi di masa lampau. Contohnya tentang proklamasi kemerdekaan Indonesia.

I didn’t tell my family because I was afraid they would be angry with me. After that, something had happened in my body and I still did not recognize it. I lived as I did usually, went to school, went home, ate, did some activities and so on.
I realized at the first time that I had a superpower was when I was in an accident. I rode a motorcycle and suddenly a bus crashed into me. I bounced out of the road and my motorcycle was totally broken. But in that case, I did not feel any pain. There was no blood out of my body. I was angry at that time because the bus did not stop and escaped. I ran after it and I didn’t know why I could run so fast and jump so high.
I jumped to the back of the bus and climbed it like a spider. I went to the front, stopped the bus and took the driver out of the bus door. I knew that I was no longer a normal human being. I did nothing more to the bus driver. I went back home and decided what to do after that.

Indonesia’s Reformation
For more than 30 years, Indonesia was governed by Suharto as the president after the era of President Soekarno. As the people started to feel injustice, several cracks emerged that shook the political condition. Political tensions in the capital city increased by the numerous riots that occurred in several cities and violent ethnic clashes.
The government became unstable and struggled as a monetary crisis hit Asia in the second half of 1997. Indonesia suffered the most. Prices rose massively and many businesses went bankrupt. As the economy fell down, people got angry and protests occurred everywhere. The protests became bigger and riots started in many parts of Indonesia.
During the monetary crisis, Suharto could maintain his position as president when he was re-elected in March 1998. However, Suharto did not do anything that could help the economy. As the government seemed helpless in bringing the economy back, people demanded President Suharto to step down.
Demonstrations were held everywhere and it became the peak with the Trisakti incident on 12 May 1998. Four students were shot to death when demonstrating at Trisakti University at Jakarta and 9 students were killed at Semanggi. The incident led to huge riots in Jakarta and various cities all over Indonesia.
Finally, Suharto was pushed to step down and the reformation era began in Indonesia.

Maybe a lot of friends is still confused what is the difference between Recount Text and Narrative Text. Indeed both are types of narration text in which the types of text tells the story in the past. If we learn narrative text, we will find a complication or problem that appears in a story; this is different from recount text. Do you know what are the differences? Okay I will continue, in recount text, there is only event; and the order of the story is neat. (Note: I’m sorry I’m just new English teacher, I agree that this text is called the ancestor of the narrative text, although in linguistics I have not found a ‘right word’ for this type of text).

Definition of Recount Text
Literally, recount means “to tell.” So recount text can be interpreted as “Text that tells”. If we refer to the information in school books (Read: Junior High School / Senior High School), recount text is a text that tells the reader about one story, action or activity. Its goal is to entertaining or informing the reader. But Inside Recount Text there is no complication just like in Narrative Text.
Generic Structure of Recount Text
# Orientation : tells who was involved, what happened, where the events took place, and when it happened. # Events : tell what happened in chronological sequence. # Re-orientation : consists of optional-closure of events / ending.
Purpose of Recount Text
The purpose of a recount is to list and describe past experiences by retelling events in the order in which they happened. Recounts are written to retell events with the purpose of either informing or entertaining their audience (or both).
In a simple word the purpose of recount text is to retell past experience.
Language Features of Recount Text
– Using the simple past tense, past continuous tense, past perfect tense, and past perfect continuous tense. – Using temporal sequence, e.g. On Saturday. On Monday, On Sunday – Focus on specific participant, e.g. I (the writer) – Using the conjunctions, such as: then, before, after, etc. – Using action verb, e.g. went, stayed

Example of recount text about vacation, my vacation with my beloved people.
One day, my sister named Putri said to me that she really wanted to go to the beach. So I promised her that the next week we would go to Mutun beach in Lampung.
The next week, we prepared everything needed in the morning. We brought some foods and beverages, such as chocolate wafers, potato chips, water and orange juice. Before going to the beach, I ask our brother, Bayu, to join us. He agreed to join and we went there together with our parents. We went there by car. It took 3 hours to arrive there. Then, we bought tickets in the entrance gate. Before swimming, we changed our clothes first. We swam there for more than one hour. We felt so tired that we decided to eat the foods that we had brought. Next, three of us created a very big sand castle, while my parents were enjoying the beautiful scenery there. After that, we decided to go home because it was getting dark.
On the way home, we still felt hungry. So we stopped at a restaurant to have dinner. I ordered sruit, Lampungnese traditional food, while my brother, my sister, and my parents ordered fried rice. After finished eating, we paid our bills. Then, we went home. We arrived at home at 9 o’clock. We were tired but we were absolutely happy.

Orientation: Last Sunday, there was Thomas cup badminton championship between Indonesa and China. It was held on Istora Gelora Bung Karno. I went to Istora Gelora Bung Karno with my brother, Andi.
Events: Before entering Istora Gelora Bung Karno, we looked the bus that took Indonesian badminton team players. I saw Taufik Hidayat, Muhammad Ahsan, Hendra Setiawan, Hayom Rumbaka, Angga Pratama, Rian Agung, Simon Santoso, Sony Dwi Kuncoro and the other Indonesian badminton players in that bus. They were very handsome. Then, we followed that bus to main-entrance. I found that Taufik Hidayat left from the bus. When we wanted to get close to Taufik Hidayat, a security guard held me back. But, I thought that security guard was familiar because he was my old friend when I was senior high school, he was Andre. After that, he let me in, finally I could meet Taufik Hidayat and got his signature.

Came late to school.
Last Wednesday, I came late to my school because I played playstation untill 2.00 am in the night. Because that I woke up late.
I woke up about 6.30 am and the class would be began at 7.00 am. I ran to bathroom to take a bath. I usually had a breakfast after took a bath, but in that day I did not do that.
I always went to school by my motorcycle. But in that day, I forgot where I put the key. So, I went to the school by public transportation. It made me took a longer time. I arrived at school at 7.15 am, I ran to my class but I saw my teacher has stood in front of the class to teach. I entered to my class and of course my teacher was angry to me because I came late.
It was my bad experience and I hoped I would not do that again.

My busy holiday.
On February 8th, 2016, I thought this would be a great holiday for me because that was Chinese New Year holiday. I didn’t celebrate the Chinese New Year as I’m not Chinese but I guessed that it was a good time for me to get full refreshing. I was so tired to studying. However, the unpredictable fact broke everything up.
First like an ordinary daughter, I had to get up early morning to help my mother, of course after I prayed. Then I did the dishes, cleaned up my room, and did my bed. I was really in danger if my mom knew that my room was messy. So, I made it as soon as possible. After finishing everything, my aunts called me in the afternoon. I did not meet them for a long time so we kept for hours to talk about some up to date gossips. Not long after that, my neighbor who is also my schoolmate visited me. She asked my help to finish her homework. At last, the time was running and the homework was successfully finished. An unpredictable moment happened after that. To my surprised, I just remembered that I had a lot of homework too. I got confused and regretful why I did not check it. As the consequence, I did my homework until late night and it was hardly finished. Since then, I always check my home work before having a holiday.
I did not feel this was holiday instead of I had to work hard and got a long ship with my homework.
Liburanku yang Sibuk
Tanggal 8 Februari, 2016, saya pikir hari itu akan menjadi hari libur yang sangat menyenangkan bagi saya karena itu adalah hari libur tahun baru China (Imlek). Saya tidak merayakan Tahun Baru Imlek karena saya bukan orang Cina tapi saya berfikir bahwa itu adalah waktu yang tepat bagi saya untuk mendapatkan refreshing sepanjang hari. Aku sangat lelah untuk belajar. Namun, fakta yang tak terduga menghancurkan semuanya.
Pertama seperti layaknya seorang anak perempuan, saya harus bangun pagi untuk membantu ibu, tentu saja setelah saya sholat. Lalu saya mencuci piring, membersihkan kamar saya, dan merapikan tempat tidur. Aku benar-benar berada dalam bahaya jika ibu saya tahu bahwa kamar saya berantakan. Jadi, saya mengerjakannya sesegera mungkin. Setelah menyelesaikan segalanya, bibi saya memanggil saya di sore hari. Saya sudah lama tidak bertemu dengan mereka sehingga obrolan kita berlangsung berjam-jam membicarakan tentang beberapa gosip terkini. Tidak lama setelah itu, tetangga saya yang juga teman sekolah saya mengunjungi saya. Dia meminta bantuan saya untuk menyelesaikan PR-nya. Akhirnya, waktupun berlalu dan pekerjaan rumah berhasil kami selesaikan. Saat yang tak terduga terjadi setelah itu. Saya sangat terkejut ketika saya baru saja ingat bahwa saya punya banyak pekerjaan rumah juga. Saya bingung dan menyesal mengapa saya tidak memeriksanya. Sebagai konsekuensinya, saya mengerjakan pekerjaan rumah saya sampai larut malam dan itu hampir tidak selesai. Sejak saat itu, saya selalu memeriksa pekerjaan rumah saya sebelum memiliki liburan.
Saya tidak merasa hari itu adalah liburan, karena saya justru harus bekerja keras untuk menyelesaikan pekerjaan saya.

Saya melihat Taufik Hidayat, Muhammad Ahsan, Hendra Setiawan, Hayom Rumbaka, Angga Pratama, Rian Agung, Simon Santoso, Sony Dwi Kuncoro dan pemain bulutangkis Indonesia lainnya di bus itu. Mereka sangat tampan. Kemudian, kami mengikuti bus itu menuju pintu masuk utama. Saya menemukan bahwa Taufik Hidayat berangkat dari bus. Ketika kami ingin mendekati Taufik Hidayat, seorang satpam menahanku. Tapi, saya pikir satpam itu akrab karena dia adalah teman lama saya saat saya SMA, dia adalah Andre. Setelah itu, dia membiarkan saya masuk, akhirnya saya bisa bertemu Taufik Hidayat dan mendapat tanda tangannya.
Kemudian, saya kembali ke tempat duduk saya di stadion Istora untuk mendukung tim Indonesia. Pendukungnya sangat ramai. Mereka berteriak “IN-DO-NE-SI-A” selama pertandingan berlangsung.

Bandung as Sea of Fire was a fire that occurred in the city of Bandung on March 24, 1946. Within seven hours, about 200,000 residents of Bandung burned their homes. British troops as part of the Brigade MacDonald arrived in Bandung on October 12, 1945. Bandung was deliberately burned by TRI and local people. There were black smoke billowing high into the air everywhere. The British Army began to attack so fierce. The greatest battle happened in the Village name Dayeuh Kolot, in South Bandung, where there were a large ammunition depot belonging to British. In this battle, Barisan Rakyat Indonesia destroyed the ammunition depot. The strategy to fire Bandung was considered because the power of TRI and people’s militia was not comparable to the British forces and NICA. This incident inspired to create the famous song “Halo Halo Bandung”. To remember what they did and struggled, they built the Bandung Lautan Api monument.

The Supersemar, the Indonesian abbreviation for “Surat Perintah Sebelas Maret” ( Order of March the Eleventh), was a document signed by the Indonesian President Sukarno on 11 March 1966. It is said that it was giving the army commander Lt. General Soeharto authority to take whatever measures he ”deemed necessary” to restore order to the chaotic situation during the Indonesian killings of 1965-1966. The abbreviation of “Supersemar” is a play on the name of Semar, the mystic and powerful figure who commonly appears in Javanese mythology including wayang puppet shows. The invocation of Semar was presumably intended to help draw on Javanese mythology to lend support to Soeharto’s legitimacy during the period of the transition of authority from Soekarno to Soeharto.

Recount Text Sejarah 3
On 10 November, Indonesia celebrates Hari Pahlawan or Heroes Day in remembrance of the Battle of Surabaya which started on that very date in the year 1945. The bloody battle took place because Indonesians refused to surrender their weaponry to British army. British Army at that time was part of the Allied Forces. The defiant Bung Tomo is the well-known revolutionary leader who played a very important role in this battle. It all started because of a misunderstanding between British troops in Jakarta and those in Surabaya, under the command of Brigadier A.W.WS. Mallaby. Brigadier Mallaby already had an agreement with Governor of East Java Mr. Surya. The agreement stated that British would not ask Indonesian troops and militia to surrender their weapons. However, a British plane from Jakarta dropped leaflets all over Surabaya. The leaflet told Indonesians to do otherwise on 27 October 1945. This action angered the Indonesian troops and militia leaders because they felt betrayed. On 30 October 1945, Brigadier Mallaby was killed as he was approaching the British troops’ post near Jembatan Merah or Red Bridge, Surabaya. There were many reports about the death, but it was widely believed that the Brigadier was murdered by Indonesian militia. Looking at this situation, Lieutenant General Sir Philip Christison brought in reinforcements to siege the city. In the early morning of 10 November 1945, British troops began to advance into Surabaya with cover from both naval and air bombardment. Although the Indonesians defended the city heroically, the city was conquered within 3 days and the whole battle lasted for 3 weeks. In total, between 6,000 and 16,000 Indonesians died while casualties on the British side were about 600 to 2000. Battle of Surabaya caused Indonesia to lose weaponry which hampered the country’s independence struggle. However, the battle provoked Indonesian and international mass to rally for the country’s independence which made this battle especially important for Indonesian national revolution.

In the afternoon, we visited the aquarium. My brother was excited to see the sharks and the tropical fish. At the end of the day when we left we were going to go and get ice cream but we decided we were too tired so we drove straight home.

Jack was happy to bring them. When he told his mother about this, she was so angry that she threw the beans out of the window. When Jack woke up in the morning, he noticed the sun was shining into a pan in his room, but the rest of the room was quite dark and shady. So he hopped up to the window. What did he see? The beanstalk was growing quite close to Jack’s window. He opened the window and jumped to the beanstalk, which looked like a big ladder. He climbed and climbed until he reached the sky. While he was looking around, he saw a very big castle. He was pretty blown away.
Jack then walked along the path leading to the castle. There was a woman with a very long tail at the door. Jack greeted her and asked for the giantess's mercy to give him breakfast, because he was really hungry. Although the giantess was initially reluctant, she eventually gave Jack a slice of bread and cheese, along with a jug of milk. Jack hadn't even finished when the whole house started shaking with the sound of footsteps. "Oh, it's my husband!" the giantess exclaimed. "What on earth am I going to do?" The giantess quickly opened a very big cupboard and hid Jack inside.
