What’s it about! Arjun (Adivi Sesh) dreams of entering into India’s secret service agencies much like his father who was killed while he was fighting for the country in secret service operation. His uncle (Prakash Raj) who also worked with his father doesn’t want him to join the services and changes his identity from Gopi to Arjun to keep away from the glare of the adverse forces. Despite his uncle’s reservations, Arjun joins India’s Secret service team known as Trinetra and gets trained as officer Trinetra 116. He also falls in love with a beautiful psychologist Sameera (Shobita Dhulipala) who just moves right opposite his flat. Soon Sameera is killed and other killings of Trinetra team happen. Who is after Arjun? And why?   Analysis:   Spy thrillers are not common in Tollywood though Superstar Krishna did bond and agent movies like ‘Goodachari 116’ and ‘Agent Gopi’ in late 60’s and 70’s. Mahesh Babu’s ‘Spyder’ was horrible attempt at spy thrillers. Adivi Sesh has attempted this genre in terrific way. He has ‘Desi’fied the Hollywood spy thriller template by adding lot of homegrown elements and has mixed right emotion.   The story begins with a kid waiting for his father to return from his mission but “hears” the news of his killing by Al Mujahiddin. Immediately it is established that the kid is taking up his father’s path – joining I.B. The film’s initial moments focus on this child trying to step into the steps of his father. Father is his strength, he says. But India’s secret service agents tell him that he could become an agent only when he overcomes his weakness (father). Why so much focus on this thread? Well, this is called pay-off in screenplay writing. These are used in the later part of the movie to add more emotion.   The writing (script by Adivi Sesh himself) is terrific. India’s Secret Service (which for outside world doesn’t exist that directly reports to PM’s office) is named as Trinetra (Third Eye). The three I’s are – infiltrate, investigate and inform. All the operation and agents are constantly watched by the team. Thus ‘Trinetra’ has right name. This is like desi version of ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’. To be frank, the writing is not copy of Hollywood movies but like a tribute to the past spy thrillers. It also pays tribute to Krishna’s movies as Arjun’s real name is Gopi and he becomes ‘Agent Gopi’ (Krishna’s old movie) and his code is Trinetra 116 (Krishna did ‘Goodachari 116).   The film runs in usual template of a spy thriller but also throws many surprises. The biggest surprise is keeping the identity of the actor who played ‘Nanna’ in the movie. We are also not revealing his name here. The initial portions, the training that Adivi Sesh takes and his romantic thread with Sobhita make us tiresome but they all have a purpose and link in the later portions. The film’s interval is biggest surprise and it goes in engaging manner till the end.   The screenplay is quite racy and has enough twists and turns. Also the film comes up with great visuals despite making in limited budget. The director and cinematographer have worked in tandem here to bring authenticity.   The action choreography is also quite good – the clock fight in the later portion is superb.   The film is a little lengthy but it ends on right note by giving enough room for sequel. ‘Goodachari’ is a right attempt for homegrown spy series.   Adivi Sesh suits well to the role of agent. More than his performance, he impresses with his writing. Sobhita Dhulipala makes confident debut in Tollywood. Supriya as higher officer is superb. She fits the role perfectly. Anish Kuruvilla is good. But the film has terrific performances from two actors – Prakash Raj and the actor who played ‘Nanna’. After a long time, Prakash Raj has got best role and the seasoned artiste has added his mark. Vennela Kishore in a non-comedy role is a huge surprise too.   The film has quality technical output. Given the budget, cinematographer Shaneil Deo has brought out the best work from various locations. The camera work seen in Sikkim episode and the Chittagong episode is the best. Production design is perfect. Sreecharan’s background score is terrific.   Both Adivi Sesh (writing) and debutant director Sashikiran Tikka have pulled off to give us one of the best made homegrown spy thrillers. Their work is commendable.   Bottom-line: ‘Goodachari’ is quite an engaging and gripping thriller about secret service activities. A perfect tribute to old spy thrillers. This makes an engaging watch as it has many surprises and right emotion. The superior writing and making of the movie makes this one of the best thrillers in Tollywood though it has inspiration from some Hollywood movies. Watch it.

Post the success of Kshanam, Adivi Sesh is back with a spy thriller titled Goodachari. The film has hit the screens today and let’s see how the film turns out to be.

Arjun’s (Adivi Sesh) father, who works for National security agency gets killed by a terrorist group. Taking his father as an inspiration, Arjun also joins the agency after a lot of attempts. After finishing his training, Arjun is assigned a mission. But even before he embarks on it, Arjun is framed in the murder of his own agency bosses. This is the time when Arjun finds out that his mission is even bigger than what he thought and has a personal connection to it. What is that twist and how does he solve the mission is the entire story of the film.

Plus Points:

Tollywood is seeing a drastic change in terms of movie making and Goodachari is the latest example as it takes Telugu cinema standard a notch higher. For all those who complain that spy thrillers or action flicks in Hollywood style are hard to make in Telugu, Goodachari is the answer. The film is taut, gripping, filled with ample twists that will keep you throroughly entertained.

Adivi Sesh leads from the front and he needs to be credited for setting a story like this in Telugu nativity which looks totally believable. His writing is crisp as the plot never looks over the top and the logical errors are hard to find. Performance wise too, Sesh has done a superb job. Coupled with his handsome looks, Sesh is superb as the spy and does well in all the action department as well.

Shobita Dhulipala makes a strong debut and is a perfect fit in her role. Her chemistry with Sesh was amazing. Prakash Raj was terrific in the supporting role. Vennela Kishore is impressing with every role of his these days and he will surprise you with his performance in Goodachari.

Yet another biggest advantage of the film is the excellent editing as scenes have been cut in a superb manner and give you a good cinematic experience. Same is the case with the background score which is the best in the recent times as it takes the film to another level. The way the father-son angle is written is top class. Along with the racy episodes, the film is filled with an underlying emotion which is executed well.

Minus Points:

After a riveting first half, things get a bit slow. Not that the proceedings are bad, it is just the twists are revealed and this is why things get a bit slow.

Even though Supriya looks perfect in a serious role, her character should have been given more depth. Once the suspense is revealed, things become slightly predictable during the pre-climax.

Technical Aspects:

Goodachari is high on technical aspects as it is made with top class production values. The camera department takes the cake as the visuals are slick and showcase the locations in a grand manner. The film moves to various countries and all the locations have been captured well. Production design is perfect as the RAW set up has been recreated in a superb manner.

Coming to the director Sasi Kiran Thikka , he has narrated the film in a gripping manner without any lag. He packs superb elements and this is where the film clicks for the audience.

If Adivi Sesh’s Kshanam gave a new edge to the thriller genre, Goodachari is a notch higher and showcases that there are makers in Tollywood who can dream big and make films on an international level. Goodachari is filled with edge of the seat moments and riveting thrills which will keep you entertained. As the film is made on a compact budget, it will make merry at the box office because of its universal appeal. If you ignore the slightly slow second half, you can happily enjoy this popcorn thriller which is filled with ample twists and turns..

Goodachari Review, What’s Behind:

Adivi Sesh tried unique subjects in his early stage of career, got first break with last movie Kshanam, a thriller that did wonders at box office. This time he penned story and also worked on screenplay along with his team for Goodachari directed by debutante Sashi Kiran Tikka. Will Sesh continue his success streak as Goodachari? Let’s fly deep into the actual review part of this action spy thriller

Goodachari Story Review:

On a RAW mission, Satya (Prakash Raj) is wounded, he also informs that his friend cum brother-in-law Raghuram (Ravi Prakash) is no more. Satya changes Raghu’s son Gopi’s identity to protect him from terrorists. Gopi is introduced to the world as Arjun and groomed as Satya’s son. After Arjun's (Sesh Adivi) continuous futile attempts to crack RAW exam, finally he gets an entry into the department with the identity as Raghuram's son. During the training period, Arjun gets close to colleague, a psychiatrist (Sobhita Dhulipala). Things change swiftly after Arjun joins Trinetra agency, prestigious wing of RAW. Meanwhile, IB department head is assassinated and Arjun is blamed for the same as terror attacks the city. Who’s behind this? Why a terrorists group is chasing Arjun? Who is trying to save Arjun.

Goodachari Artists, Technicians Review:

It’s been very long since a sincere spy thriller has hit Telugu screens. Goodachari is a straight Telugu film from the genre and promises a unique thrilling experience as showed in promotional videos. Obviously, there are many unexpected twists and turns in the narration which is Goodachari's unique strength. It also has splendid action sequences, adequate romance, especially second half is filled with absorbing emotional content driving the tempo high towards the crucial last half an hour.

Adivi Sesh penned a novel story with all elements required for all thriller enthusiasts. In fact, such multi layered scripts demand high standards of direction with gripping narrative. Fresh director Sashikiran Tikka too handled the subject very interestingly. Although first half puts you down at times, second half is highly intense till end. Twists and turns keep audience hooked imparting a superb movie watch experience. Cinematography by Shaneil Deo is top notch, wherein Sricharan Pakala’s BGM is riveting, songs are properly included. Editing by Garry BH is razor sharp and production values of Abhishek Pictures are too lavish as every penny spent is visible on screen grandeur.

Onto artists, Adivi Sesh did a fabulous job as Goodachari (spy), the only intention is to serve country.  He looked charming and performed some risky stunts  shot on par with Hollywood. Such characters need a charming face and  he has it. Sobhita is a hot chick. Lip-lock scene between the two is well included. Jagapathi Babu was outstanding in a role on which entire story pivoted. This role will be remembered for long. Prakash Raj did his meaningful role impeccably. Madhu Shalini is good as Sesh’s colleague in RAW. Supriya and Vennela Kishore are a surprise package. Anish Kuruvilla is faultless and Ravi Prakash is acceptable. Rakesh Varre and other artists played their parts convincingly.

For all niche spy thrillers, ultimate motive is to save country from terrorists or other anti-social forces. Fortunately for us, Goodachari focuses on revealing many twists one after the other, besides assimilation of emotional and patriotic flames. Director Sashikiran dealt the subject like an expert, particularly second half where you are engaged with interesting revelations one by one.

First half begins on an interesting note with Prakash Raj getting wounded in a shoot out of RAW agency. We are glues to narration with back to back exciting episodes of Sesh’s identity change. Supriya is introduced in style as a trainer at RAW and Vennela Kishore gives some relief in serious situations with comedy timing.

Sobhita stuns in introduction scene enticing Sesh. Romantic track is designed in a way that it will appeal to youth of this era but hasn't got soul. Sesh’s appointment as Trinetra agent is intriguing and with a banging twist, movie heads to interval. This is one of the best interval in recent times.

Latter half too kick starts on exhilarating note with Sesh making all efforts to meet Prakash Raj secretly and then going Bangladesh to find some clues of a dreaded terrorists gang. Airport scene followed by an action episode in Bangladesh will further increase our curiosity. Jagapathi Babu’s real identity revelation is a shocking twist. Movie ends on emotional note with Sesh choosing patriotism over personal feelings. These portions will receive special applause and we are not disclosing much of the last 20 minute run to keep the thrill in tact.

All in all, Goodachari is a gripping thriller with adequate twists. Excellent performances from lead actors and brilliant support from technicians make this worth a watch for thriller movie lovers for good second half. CJ goes with 3 star rating. Box office verdict will depend on how it performs in mass centers. Finally, an effort surely laudable.

A spy film that lacks depth

All that the filmmakers wanted was to show Adivi's Arjun sporting sharp tuxedos and being desired by multiple women. In that respect, they have achieved the goal. But, the audience who shell out their money to watch this film get very little entertainment in return. (more)

2019 అక్టోబర్ లో శ్రీకారం చుట్టుకున్న 'ఆచార్య" కరోనా మహమ్మారి కారణంగా తారీకులు మార్చుకుంటూ ఎట్టకేలకు నేడు విడుదలయింది. చిరంజీవి టైటిల్ రోల్ పోషించినా ఇందులో రామ్ చరణ్ కూడా ప్రధాన పాత్ర చేయడం వల్ల ఆసక్తి, అంచనాలు డబలయ్యాయి. 

పైగా 'లాహే లాహే..' పాట విడుదలకి ఎన్నో నెలల ముందే సూపర్ హిట్ కావడం వల్ల మ్యూజికల్ గా కూడా కలిసొచ్చింది. 

అన్నిటికీ మించి కథేమిటో తెలియకుండా కట్ చేసిన ట్రైలర్ కూడా సినిమాలో ఏముందోనన్న ఉత్సుకతని పెంచింది. 

వెరసి ఈ చిత్రం సినీ అభిమానుల్ని థియేటర్స్ కి రప్పించింది. 

ఇక విషయంలోకి వెళ్దాం.

తల తిప్పనీయకుండా చేసి కథాప్రపంచంలోకి లాక్కుపోయేది ఉత్తమ కథనం అవుతుంది. లేకపోతే ఉత్త కథనమవుతుంది. 

భారీ సెట్టింగ్, ఆకట్టుకునే కెమెరా వర్క్, గ్రాఫిక్స్, నటీనటులు కుదిరినంతమాత్రాన కథా కథనాల విషయంలో కాంప్రమైజైతే మొత్తం కష్టం వృథా అవుతుంది. 

కథలో కొత్త పాయింట్, ఆసక్తికరమైన ఓపెనింగ్, పాత్రల పరిచయం, సమస్య, పరిష్కారం, ఊహించని మలుపు...ఇలా ప్రతి అంశంలోనూ జాగ్రత్త తీసుకుని తూకం తప్పకుండా రాసుకోవాల్సి ఉంటుంది సినిమా కథనం. 

ఇందులో మొదటి పాయింట్ దగ్గరే దెబ్బ పడింది. కథలో ఏమాత్రం కొత్తదనం లేదు. కథనంలో మెరుపుల్లేవు. అన్నీ ఊహించినట్టే జరుగుతూ నీరసం తెప్పిస్తుంది. 

చిరంజీవి సినిమా అనగానే ప్రేక్షకులు ముఖ్యంగా కోరుకునేది మాస్ ఎలిమెంట్స్, ఎనెర్జీ. అవి ఉండబట్టే "ఖైది 150" ఆడింది. అవి లేకే "సైరా" ఫెయిలయ్యింది. కానీ చారిత్రక సినిమా కావడం వల్ల కాస్తైనా గౌరవాన్ని దక్కించుకుంది. 

ఈ "ఆచార్య" పరిస్థితి మాత్రం అలా కాదు. ఇది కల్పిత కథ. ఊహాశక్తితో కథని ఏ స్థాయికైనా తీసుకెళ్లి రక్తి కట్టించొచ్చు. కానీ ఆ కసరత్తు ఏ మాత్రం జరగలేదు. ఆద్యంతం నీరసానికి నిలువెత్తు రూపంలా నడుస్తుందీ చిత్రం. 

అసహజమైన నేపథ్యం, మూసకొట్టుడు విలన్లు, నేచురల్ గా లేని సంభాషణలు, ఏ కాలం కథో తెలియని అయోమయం, రెండు దశాబ్దాల క్రితం నాటి స్టైల్లో వినిపించే మ్యూజిక్...వెరసి ప్రేక్షకులకి పెద్ద షాక్ ఇచ్చిన చిత్రమిది. 

చెప్పుకోదగ్గ గొప్ప విషయమేదైనా ఉందా అంటే 67 ఏళ్ల వయసులో చిరంజీవి అలా కనిపించడం, డ్యాన్స్ చేయడం. నిజంగా ఇది ఆశ్చర్యమే అని చెప్పాలి. చిరంజీవి డ్యాన్సుల్లో ప్రత్యేకంగా కనిపించేది గ్రేస్. అది వేరే ఏ హీరో డ్యాన్సులోనూ కనపడదు. ఎన్ని దశాబ్దాలైనా ఆ గ్రేస్ ఏ మాత్రం చెక్కుచెదరకుండా కాపాడుకోవడం నిజంగా ఆయన కృషికి, సాధనకి నిదర్శనం. 

తర్వాత చెప్పుకోదగ్గ విషయం ఆర్ట్ డైరెక్షన్. దర్శకుడి కోరిక మేరకు చాలా ఘనమైన విలేజ్ సెట్టైతే వేసారు. 

అవి తప్ప మిగతావన్నీ డల్లే. 

తాను స్వయంగా మాటల రచయిత అయ్యుండి కొరటాల ఒక్క డయలాగ్ కూడా పవర్ఫుల్ రాసుకోలేకపోవడం ఆశ్చర్యం. రాసుకున్న డైలాగ్స్ కూడా చెప్పించిన తీరులో కృతకత్వం ఉంది తప్ప సహజత్వం లేదు. 

గ్రాఫిక్స్ వాడకం ఎంతున్నా చిరంజీవి కష్టం మాత్రం కనపడింది. అయితే సెకండాఫులో ఒక ఎపిసోడ్ లో గ్రాఫిక్స్ మరీ ఎక్కువ వాడి యంగ్ చిరంజీవిని చూపించే ప్రయత్నం చేసారు. సీరియస్ సీన్లో అది హాస్యాస్పదంగా మారింది తప్ప ఫ్లో కి ఉపయోగపడలేదు. 

రామ్ చరణ్ పాత్రకి కూడా పెద్ద వేరియేషన్ లేదు. ప్రధమార్థంలో చిరంజీవేం చేస్తాడో, ద్వితీయార్థంలో రామ్ చరణ్ అదే చేస్తాడు. అద్భుతమనిపించే అంశాలేవీ పాత్రలో కానీ, నటనలో కానీ, డైలాగ్స్ లో కానీ లేవు. 

పూజా హెగ్డే పాత్ర ఎందుకుందో కూడా అర్థం కాదు. ఏ మాత్రం బరువు లేని, కథకు ఉపయోగపడని పాత్ర ఆమెది. 

సోను సూద్, కిషోర్, జిషు సేన్ గుప్తా, సౌరవ్ లోకేష్...ఇలా విలన్లంతా అడివిని కొట్టేసి ఇండస్ట్రీ పెట్టాలనుకోవడం లాంటి ఏజ్ ఓల్డ్ విలనీని ప్రదర్శించారు. ఇంకెన్నాళ్లు చూడాలి ఇదే మూస?! కుప్పల తెప్పలుగా విలన్లుండడం వల్ల హీరో ఎవర్ని కొడుతున్నా ఎమోషన్ అందదు. 

మణిశర్మ సంగీతం లౌడ్ గా ఉంది తప్ప కథనంలో డీలాతనాన్ని కవర్ చేయగలిగే మంత్రంలా అయితే పని చేయలేదు. 

పాటల్లో లాహే లాహే హిట్టయినా తెర మీద ఆకట్టుకోలేకపోయింది. బంజారా పాటలో ఒకటి రెండు స్టెప్పులు బాగున్నాయనిపించాయి. నీలాంబరి పాట ఆకట్టుకోలేదు. చానాకష్టం పాట ప్లేస్మెంటులోనే సమస్యుంది. దానివల్ల పాట వినోదాన్ని ఇవ్వకపోగా పంటికింద రాళ్లలాగ కళుక్కుమంటాయి. 

ఇద్దరు హీరోల పోరాటానికిగల కారణం ఆలస్యంగానే చెప్పినా ఆ కారణంలో బలం లేకపోవడం వల్ల ఆడియన్స్ కనెక్ట్ కావడం కష్టం. 

తెర మీద చిరంజీవి, రామ్ చరణ్ కనిపిస్తే చాలు...వాళ్లేం చేసినా అది ప్రసాదమే అని ఆరాధనాభావంతో చూసే వీరాభిమానుల పరిస్థితేమో కానీ... కొత్తదనం, సెన్స్, సెన్సిబిలిటీ, వినోదం కోరుకునే ఆడియన్స్ కి మాత్రం నిరాశే మిగులుతుంది. 

"పాఠాలు చెప్పకపోయినా నన్ను ఆచార్య అంటారు. బహుశా గుణపాఠాలు చెప్తాననేమో.." డైలాగ్ ని గుర్తుచేసుకుంటూ ఈ సినిమా గుణపాఠాన్నే మిగిల్చిందనుకోవాలి. తండ్రీకొడులిద్దరూ కలిసి నటించే అవకాశం దొరికిందని రంగంలోకి దిగిపోకుండా చిరంజీవి వర్గం కథ మీద మరింత పని చేయించుంటే బాగుండేది.

Many comedians have taken on leading roles. Following in their footsteps, Getup Srinu, best known for his 'Jabardasth' comedy skits, made his debut as a hero in "Raju Yadav".

Let us check its merits and demerits.

Story: Raju Yadav (Getup Srinu) is hit by a cricket ball, leaving him with a permanent smiling face because he does not have enough money for surgery. One day, he encounters a girl at a police station and falls for her.

Sweety (Ankita Kharat) despises his continual smile and stalking tactics, but she develops feelings for him as she learns the truth about his appearance.

After Sweety finds a job with a company in Hyderabad, they become close and go intimate. But then Raju Yadav notices another aspect of this girl. What did Sweety do to shock him?

Artistes’ Performances: Getup Srinu plays his role in an okay manner. He does not have the look of a lead hero, nor does his role have such an effect. He just plays an ordinary guy from a small town quite routinely.

Ankita Kharat, the film's newcomer, is another weak link. Other performers go about their business in a regular manner.

Technical Excellence: Harshvardhan Rameshwar's first song and last song are satisfactory. Other songs fail to impress. The film exhibits subpar production quality and the camerawork is rudimentary. The editing and the writing are so basic.

Highlights: Slightly better moments in second half

Analysis "Raju Yadav," the debut film of comedian Getup Srinu as the hero, fails to engage the audience. The first half of the film centers entirely on Raju Yadav, a failing graduate with deformed face who is enamored by the attractiveness of a local girl. The main story, or whatever we call it, unfolds in the latter part of the film.

It is established that the girl (the film’s heroine) has been very clear about what she wants from the start. Despite the girl's refusals, the hero continues to follow her, and he feels duped when she does something shocking to him.

The makers claimed that the plot was inspired by true incidents, however the main issue is the protagonist's amateurish behaviour. Not only does the protagonist's character lack depth, but so does the director's narration.

Filmmakers should stop portraying fit-for-nothing guys into heroes. This story's protagonist comes from a lower middle-class household; he cannot find work because he failed his graduation and does nothing for a living; yet, he tries to impress a girl who is well-educated and working. The person in question lacks heroic qualities.

The first half of the film is set in a small town and the hero’s attempts to impress the girl, but the second half changes its tone, depicts some intimate sequences, and goes down the 'RX100' route to some extent.

The incompetent direction and ludicrous sequences, however, bore us more than the story or characters. Everything in the movie is corny and absurd. To sit through this requires a tremendous level of patience.

Overall, "Raju Yadav" is uninteresting from beginning to end. For Getup Srinu, this is a bad start as a hero; for moviegoers, it's another headache film.

Bottom line: Amateurish
