Proposal EFFECTIVENESS OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT PRACTICE IN CASE OF JIMMA UNIVERSITY MAIN CAMPUS

This research will be conducted in Jimma University main campus mainly at inventory management department the general objective of the study is to assess the inventory management practice of Jimma University main campus. The total population is estimated to be 100 and out of this 30% will taken as a sample. The method of sampling is convenience as non probability sampling observation questionnaires and different documents will be used to collect data from primary and secondary sources.

The present research divulges the different inventory control techniques used small scale cements enterprises operated by small scale entrepreneurs through the assistance of primary data collected from eight small scale cement enterprises operating in SIDCO & SICOP, under DIC (District Industries Center) in District Udhampur of Jammu & Kashmir State. The various inventory control techniques identified and quested for in the research were: " Always Better Control (ABC) " , " Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) " , " Material Requirement Planning (MRP) " , and " Just-in-Time (JIT) ". The results of the ranking table quoted that " Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) " was awarded first rank by almost all the units representing overall mean score of 1.71, " Always Better Control (ABC) " was denoted by rank two repressing overall mean value as 2.00, " Material Requirement Planning (MRP) " was quoted rank three as depicted by its mean ranking (2.25), and " Just-in-time (JIT) " was accorded rank four (3.71) by almost all the small scale cements entrepreneurs/owners.

This study took into consideration the relationship between effective system of inventory management and organization performance in the seven-up bottling company, Nile Mile Enugu. The researchers were motivated to embark on this study, in order to bring to fore the importance of effective inventory control system on organizational performance as it relates to the bottling company. A total of eighty-three respondent constitute the sample for the study. Four research questions and Four hypotheses were generated and tested at 10% (that is 0.10) significant level using descriptive statistics and non-parametric test (chi-square that is, 􀁆􀬶). The result of the analysis showed that flexibility in inventory control management is an important approach to achieving organizational performance. It was found that organizations benefits from inventory control management by way of easy storage and retrieval of material, improved sales effectiveness and reduced operational cost. The study also found that there is a relationship between operational feasibility, utility of inventory control management in the customer related issues of the organization and cost effectiveness technique are implemented to enhance the return on investment in the organization. Effective inventory control management is recognized as one of the areas management of any organization should acquire capability. It is recommended that organizations should adopt the inventory keeping method that best suit their operations.

The operation of inventory management determines the efficiency of storage of products. The progress in techniques and management principles improves the moving load, delivery speed, service quality, operation costs, the usage of facilities and energy saving. Inventory management takes a crucial part in the manipulation of logistics. Reviewing the current condition, a strong system needs a clear frame of logistics and a proper inventory implements and techniques to link the producing procedures. The objective of the paper is to define the role of inventory management in logistics for the reference of further improvement. The research was undertaken to assist logistics managers, researchers and inventory planners to define and comprehend the basic views of logistics and its various applications and the relationships between logistics and inventory.

Several penalties could be apportioned to excesses in either direction. Inventory management has been a problem to many business organizations in Nigeria. Hence, it has become imperative to identify and enlighten management on the proper use of inventories. How inventory management systems affects operational performance in manufacturing firms is the primarily concerned of this study. To further investigate the study and accurately analyse the result three hypotheses were formulated: the relationship between poor inventory management system and organizational performance, incapability of organizational policy and inventory management system as well as the relationship between inventory management system and profitability in manufacturing industries. A descriptive research design random sampling techniques were employed where the sample size comprised of a total of sixty (60) staff were randomly selected from May and Baker Manufacturing Nigeria Limited in Lagos State. A non-parametric statistics of chi-square was employed to test for the relevant hypotheses. The outcome of this study reveals that, there is significance relationship between poor inventory management system and organizational performance. It was also reveals that the incapability of organizational policy negatively impacts inventory management system and finally, the outcome of this study also gathered that, there is a positive and direct relationship between inventory management system and profitability in May and Baker Nigeria Limited. This study conclude that, failure to maintain a proper, adequate and accurate inventory control management will results in fall in profit and performance of May and Baker Nigeria Limited and vice-versa. It was recommended that, the organization should avoid the dangers that are inherent in keeping too little or too much of stock. There is also the need for organizations to train their personnel in the area of inventory control management. In general, the findings that emerged from this study have indicated that organizations stand to gain a lot from effective inventory control management system. Some of this benefit include optimal use of resources, cost reduction, improved profitability, reduction of waste, transparency and accountability, easy storage and retrieval of stock amongst others.

Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DC) describes diabetes-associated changes in the structure and function of myocardium that are not directly linked to other factors such as hypertension. Currently there are some models of DC; however, they take a large time period to mimic key features. In the present study, we investigated the effects of a short-term high-fat/high salt diet (HFHS) treatment on myocardial function and structure, and vascular reactivity in C57BL/6 male mice. After 14 weeks HFHS induced hypertension (MAP = 144.95 ± 16.13 vs 92.90 ± 18.95 mm Hg), low glucose tolerance (AUC = 1049.01 ± 74.79 vs 710.50 ± 52.57 a.u.), decreased insulin sensitivity (AUC = 429.83 ± 35.22 vs 313.67 ± 19.55 a.u.) and increased adiposity (epididymal fat weight 0.96 ± 0.10 vs 0.59 ± 0.06 OW/BW × 10), aspects present in metabolic syndrome. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar a influência de alguns fatores sobre a incidência de arranhões em frangos de corte no momento da captura para o abate. O estudo foi realizado em um sistema de integração de frangos de corte, abrangendo a região do município de Dourados (MS). Durante o ano de 2010 foram realizadas 80 amostragens em 80 aviários, analisando 5 % das aves de cada aviário, após a apanha para o abate e prontas para serem transportadas. Ao final do período de estudo foram analisados 58.880 frangos de corte de um total de 1.177.600 nos 80 aviários, sendo 31.200 aves da linhagem A (17.800 machos e 13.400 fêmeas) e 27.680 da linhagem B (15.320 machos e 12.360 fêmeas). As lesões de apanha foram evidenciadas pela presença de sangramento recente e a incidência foi mensurada pela ausência ou presença de lesões causadas por arranhões.
