If your friend respects you and in return you respect him, and he forbids you from wrong doing, is your true friend. Traffic Education

Every education helps man to make him civilized, sensible, and a good citizen, therefore the role of Traffic education is very important in this regard to drive the vehicle on the road safely. We daily travel in different vehicles, some use their own cars and some use public transport, therefore we must know the basic rules of how to drive a vehicle, what is a function of one way-traffic and two way-traffic, how we can follow the white lines which are drawn. So the vehicles follow them and avoid overspeed and rash driving. On every big road, we can see traffic signs with the help of the drivers, these signs include maximum speed, turn, signals, overhead bridge underpass, coming city or stop, etc. These signs help us in our driving so that we can safely reach our destination. In big cities, the flow of traffic is greater than the small cities. So we must follow the traffic signals and abide by the rules because these rules are only for our safety. The major cause of accidents on the roads are lack of traffic education which we do not follow. Every driver must get a traffic education and after the test, he/she should come on the road for the safety of himself/herself and others. When we follow the traffic rules, signs, and signals we can become responsible citizens.

My Favorite Animal

I love cats! Cats are my favorite animals because they are cute, cuddly, and full of personality. They have soft fur that feels so nice to pet. Cats come in all sorts of colors and patterns, which makes them even more interesting. Cats are also very playful. They chase after toys and pounce on imaginary prey. It’s so much fun to watch them play. Cats are independent too. They can groom themselves and use a litter box, which makes them easy to take care of. But the best thing about cats is their purring. Sometimes the subject matter of your essay is assigned to you, sometimes it’s not. Either way, you have to decide what you want to say. Start by brainstorming some ideas, writing down any thoughts you have about the subject. Then read over everything you’ve come up with and consider which idea you think is the strongest. Ask yourself what you want to write about the most. Keep in mind the goal of your essay. Can you achieve the goal of the assignment with this topic? If so, you’re good to go.

WRITE A TOPIC SENTENCE

This is the main idea of your essay, a statement of your thoughts on the subject. Again, consider the goal of your essay. Think of the topic sentence as an introduction that tells your reader what the rest of your essay will be about.

OUTLINE YOUR IDEAS

Once you have a good topic sentence, you then need to support that main idea with more detailed information, facts, thoughts, and examples. These supporting points answer one question about your topic sentence—“Why?” This is where research and perhaps more brainstorming come in. Then organize these points in the way you think makes the most sense, probably in order of importance. Now you have an outline for your essay.

ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, WRITE!

Follow your outline, using each of your supporting points as the topic sentence of its own paragraph. Use descriptive words to get your ideas across to the reader. Go into detail, using specific information to tell your story or make your point. Stay on track, making sure that everything you include is somehow related to the main idea of your essay. Use transitions to make your writing flow.

Finish your essay with a conclusion that summarizes your entire essay and 5 restates your main idea.

PROOFREAD AND REVISE

Check for errors in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar. Look for ways to make your writing clear, understandable, and interesting. Use descriptive verbs, adjectives, or adverbs when possible. It also helps to have someone else read your work to point out things you might have missed. Then make the necessary corrections and changes in a second draft. Repeat this revision process once more to make your final draft as good as you can.

Good english composition examples for primary school.

The model compositions compiled here are written by our students. These are good English composition examples and they give you an idea of what primary school students are capable of writing.

We take in a wide range of students in our weekly writing classes and online courses . Some of them are excellent writers but they join us to receive constructive feedback and regular writing practice to continue honing their writing skills. Others are weaker in their writing and need professional guidance from an experienced writing teacher. As long as the child is willing to learn and has a positive attitude, we welcome him/her!

Some of these model compositions featured here are written by our online Writing Academy and Junior Writing Academy students. Others are written by students attending our weekly writing classes conducted by our Writing Coaches. All our Writing Coaches are either former MOE primary school teachers or tutors who are experienced in teaching English and creative writing.

First steps in essay writing for primary school students

It is often difficult to get young learners closer to understanding the main purpose and development of an opinion essay.

This resource could become an easy starting point to help them generate ideas and produce consistent lines. A good source of inspiration is essential for this kind of task. A couple of months ago I found an essay in pictures by Neil Gaiman published in The Guardian. It is part of Gaiman’s larger work Art Matters, and of public access. It explains the importance of reading, libraries preservation and daydreaming.

The use of this material could benefit students both by connecting them with a different kind of literature and encouraging them to write their own ideas on the topic.

1. Start by showing on your classroom screen the different parts of the essay (or print them and paste them all over the classroom). Select students to read them aloud and invite them to make comments and provide their own opinion: Do they agree? What would they add to each sentence? What other ideas would they include?

2. Encourage your students to join in groups and write down their own ideas starting by those of the author. Eg: Reading is important because…; Books are …, etc.

3. Ask students to check grammar and spelling. Help them when necessary.

4. Share their final works.

You may take notes on the board of those sentences whose contents reflect their strongest points of view and guide them to reorder them so that they have a logical connection and result in a clear statement of what they think on the issue.

After that first try, you could encourage your students to write about different topics like:

- Our environment needs our help

- Learning languages is our gate to the world

- A creative mind will always make a free person

You may use any other topic you are working with or they suggest. This time you should let them work on their own: alone, in pairs or in small groups. Make sure they can count on you during the process.

Cross-curricular - Language + Art

As the last step for this task, you could join the Art teacher, who can work with the students to illustrate each of their lines/ideas. The final result would be a real “essay in pictures” which could decórate your classroom, the school’s reception, one of the school’s corridors or, why not, become the central part of the school’s Art Display this year! Give it a try, and writing an opinion essay won’t be that tough (or boring) for your students next time!

50 Writing Prompts for All Grade Levels

Sometimes students need a little push to activate their imaginations.

The collection of prompts below asks young writers to think through real or imagined events, their emotions, and a few wacky scenarios. Try out the ones you think will resonate most with your students.

As with all prompts, inform students that their answers should be rated G and that disclosing dangerous or illegal things they’re involved in will obligate you to file a report with the administration or school counselors. Finally, give students the option of writing “PERSONAL” above some entries that they don’t want anyone to read. We all need to let scraggly emotions run free in our prose sometimes.

If your class uses daybooks (an approach recommended in Thinking Out Loud: The Student Daybook as a Tool to Foster Learning ), wait for composition notebooks to go on sale at Target, the Dollar Store, or Walmart for $0.50 a piece. To organize the daybook, direct young writers to leave the first three pages blank and number and date each entry—adding these entries to a table of contents that they create as they work so they can return to specific entries later.

What do the five friends you hang out with most have in common? How are you most like them? How are you different from them?
What contributes to someone becoming a bully? What can help stop someone from bullying?
Do you make friends slowly or quickly? Describe how one of your important friendships evolved.
Should we fear failure? Explain.
If a wizard could tell you anything about your future, what would you most like to know?
Do you believe in luck? Are you superstitious? How so? If not, why do you think some people are?

Last Friday, you were given one wish by a magical panda. You tried so hard to make the wish positive, but after the whacked-out events that unfolded over the weekend, you regret ever meeting that tricky panda. What did you ask for, and what happened?

Describe a routine that you often or always do (in the morning, when you get home, Friday nights, before a game, etc.).
What things do all kids know that adults do not?
What TV or movie characters do you wish were real? Why?

After they’ve finished an entry, ask students to read their work aloud or exchange daybooks for a read-around. If you give the entries written feedback, show that their work is respected by using a sticky note or scratch paper.

You might also incorporate background writing music one day a week—say on “Music Monday.” For some examples of music you might use in class, Pitchfork has an article called “ The 50 Best Ambient Albums of All Time .” My favorite album for composing is the Birdy soundtrack by Peter Gabriel—a good one for older kids. Other Edutopia staff and bloggers like writing to Coffitivity , Noisli , Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Alcest’s Souvenirs d’un Autre Monde .

Don’t forget to write along with your students. Why should they have all the fun?
