Essay on My Country Nepal | 700+ Words

Essay on My Country Nepal

Essay on My Country Nepal | Paragraph Writing 600+ Words

My country is the land of diversity and is very unique. My country Nepal lies in the Southern part of Asia. It is surrounded by two powerful countries India and China and is landlocked. It has an area of about 147,516 sq. kilometers. Although small, my country is diverse both in terms of geography and culture. It is like a beautiful garden with many people from different backgrounds. It is a country with a variety of castes and cultures.

Nepal’s flag is also the most unique to the world. Our country’s flag stands out among the rest due to its shape. The colors and symbols of our flag also represent the country’s peace-loving and friendly nature, bravery, and immortal history.

In my country Nepal, we can find places with altitudes ranging from as low as 70 meters to the highest peak in the world 8848 meters. It is divided into 3 regions Terai, Pahad, and Himal with the temperature of the place varying from hot to cold. Each region has its own specialty. Nepal’s Himalayan regions have high and mighty mountain ranges that are breathtaking to look at. Out of the world’s top 10 highest peaks, 8 of them fall in my country Nepal.

For You: Essay on Importance of English Language

The Hilly region is full of green hills and a very cool temperature to live in. It has many historical and religious places. Terai too is mostly a flat stretch of land with fertile soil. It is the granary of Nepal where most crops are grown. It is also an industrial region of our country.

The flora and fauna of my country are also very diverse. The difference in altitudes makes our country have various ecosystems. Foreigners from all over the world pay thousands of dollars just to see our country’s reach of flora and fauna, rivers, lakes, cliffs, waterfalls, snowcapped mountains, and many other beautiful landscapes. The natural beauty of my country Nepal is difficult to find in other places.

Our country also has sites of great religious and historical importance where thousands of pilgrims visit every year. Places like Pashupatinath, Muktinath, Lumbini, Swyambunath, etc are very popular. It is already a pride to have come from such a country.

Essay on My Country Nepal

Our country also ranks in the top 5 for water resources. For such a small country to have rich water resources it is a boon. If fully utilized we can provide electricity to other countries too. Important personalities like King Janak, Gautam Buddha, Arniko, Bhrikuti were also born in Nepal. They all carry historical and religious importance even up to date. Our country’s warriors and commanders are still known today for their bravery and courage. It is also the reason our country never has to celebrate independence day as we never were colonized.

Nepal is also blessed with people of different backgrounds and ethnicity. In the past, many people had migrated to Nepal and settled here and hence the diversity. My country Nepal is also secular and respects all religions equally despite the numbers. There are 126 castes in Nepal and behind them, every culture has its significance. Each culture has its unique festivals and traditions. People also celebrate each other’s festivals with great fun. Nepali people are known for their hospitality and friendliness too.

But even after nature blessing our country, we have not been able to fully utilize it. Problems such as corruption and political instability run deep in the country. Our natural resources are not being taken care of properly and our country is being poor day by day. People are rich but the country is poor. Poverty is also seen in our country. Lack of proper management of wastes has also polluted our water and slowly destroying our forests. This also means our plants and animals are slowly being extinct. Illegal hunting and farming of precious animals and plants are also ruining our ecosystem.

This is why to save our country from further danger and poverty proper management and a responsible leader are required. The citizens of our country should also feel responsible for the country and not only blame the leaders. Proper plans and policies should be required to protect our resources. Social evils such as discrimination should also be tackled. Conservative-minded people should be given awareness and strict punishments for corruption and other illegal acts should be given. Employment opportunities should also be created as many people are leaving the country for jobs abroad.

Essay on My Country Nepal For Students

If there is a country’s flag that stands out among all other countries it is the flag of Nepal . Our flag is very unique and cannot be compared to other countries’ flags due to its shape. It also has a hidden meaning behind it which represents the country’s peace-loving and friendly nature, bravery, and immortal history.

My country Nepal is situated between two countries, India and China. Although it is sandwiched between international powers, conflicts have not happened between any, and peace remains. Nepal is a country of various castes and cultures. In other words, it is like a beautiful garden of flowers with people of different ethnicities and backgrounds.

My country Nepal is not only unique for its flag but also its geographical terrain, the variety of castes and cultures you can find, and the rich history of it. It is the land of various great places and important figures that people know far and wide. The temperature here spans from cool to hot and is a heaven for residing in.

There are about 126 castes in Nepal each with its own rich history and culture which makes Nepal a rich place for culture. Some dating back to the millenniums. Not only that, our country is very rich in its geographical terrain. From the lowest point of just 70 Meters from sea level to the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest (8848.86 meters) , we have temperature scales that vary from place to place. It is divided into three regions, Terai, Hilly, and Himalayas each according to their altitude and geographical differences.

Himalayan regions have high and mighty Himalayas that are breathtaking to look at. Out of the world’s top 10 highest peaks, 8 of them fall in my country. It is already a great pride to have come from such a country. The diverse flora and fauna, beautiful landscapes, lush and green jungles, historical and religious places in Nepal are enough to gather the attention of foreigners and locals too. People from all over the world pay thousands of dollars just to see our country’s snow-capped mountains, rivers, cliffs, waterfalls, other beautiful landscapes, the rich flora and fauna, and sites of great religious and historical importance. It just doesn’t end there.

Our country ranks in the top 5 for the richest in water resources. With just a small country with an area of 1,47,181 sq kilometers, it has the potential to fuel hydropower worth 2% of the entire world. It may look small in number but taking our country’s small area in context, it is a potential incomparable to all. The Terai region holds fertile land and smooth flowing waters that are excellent for farming and cultivating.

Nepal is also known as an agricultural country where 60% of the people here follow agriculture as their work. Our country also has huge historical importance. Gautama Buddha the founder and preacher of Buddhism which is practiced worldwide was also born in Nepal. Buddhism is known to preach peace and non-violence and to love everyone. King Janak is also an important figure who holds great importance to communities in Nepal.

Other personalities include Bhrikuti, Araniko, etc. Our country is also known for its bravery. Our country never has to celebrate Independence day as we were never under the rule of any other. We stood and fought against the Britans and other Mongol countries. Brave Gorkhalis were united after a long struggle and fought their way to preserve their country. The courage and bravery of Nepali people are also know world wide. Many brave Gorkhalis went to fight under countries in world wars and won various colors and medals. This brought our country so much respect that we even enjoy it for granted to date.

Although our country’s history, culture, terrains, and achievements make anyone feel proud, the power struggle for the politicians, previous kings, and presidents have made the country weak and fall in the developing country category. Our rich natural resources have not been utilized and we have fallen way behind. Corruption is widely prevalent in our country and the loans we have taken from other countries are in a large number. The amount of food and other materialistic consumption has made Nepal import more and export less.

Our country is poor but the people here are rich. This is because of the corruption and the illegal working/trading that has been done. The government has not made significant progress and the people aren’t responsible. Although I feel proud to be A Nepali, the condition of my country makes me feel bad. People should feel responsible and carry out their duties and not just complain about the government.

The government too should implement proper policies and rules and enforce them accordingly. Utilization of our natural resources should be done in an effective way and social evils such as discrimination according to castes and genders, other superstitions should be slowly removed. Centralized development should stop and we should control the people moving out to other countries with their skills that are wasted abroad. This way we can slowly develop our country.

Essay on Nepal MY COUNTRY MY PRIDE [1500 words]

Mother and country are more prominent than paradise. It is a genuine proclamation. We are born in this nation that is brimming with characteristic delights.

We are exceptionally nationalist. We adore the country more than our soul. Nation resembles a paradise for me. My nation’s name is Nepal. It is gotten from two supernatural words ‘Ne’ and ‘Pala’.

The word Nepal implies a nation of peace and love. This is where Master Gautama Buddha ‘ the light of Asia’ was born. This is a nation of Bir Gorkhalies. The most noteworthy crest on the planet Mt. Everest is situated in a nation that makes a nation the best.

My nation Nepal is little on the planet outline, but for me, my nation whether it is little or enormous is a world. Numerous national identities are born in nation life: Prithivi Narayan Shah, Bahadur Shah, Rajendra Laxmi, etc. The history of the nation Nepal is great.

Every one of the pages of history is loaded with the hot and red blood of national legends. My nation Nepal is the Yam between two major stones. I mean it is between the two greatest nations India and China. Nation Nepal is separated into numerous ethnic gatherings.

Essay on My Nepal, My Pride [For College and School Students]

Essay on  My Nepal, My Pride is often asked at schools and colleges examination in Nepal.  The following essay on “My Nepal, My Pride” is a sample essay for school a college students. We will be uploading different versions of the essay over time.

[# Sample 1]: Essay My Country Nepal (327 words)

My country, Nepal, is situated between two enormous countries: India and China. It is famous all over the world because Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world, is here. Even though Hindus constitute more than 80% of the population, minorities are never overlooked. It is called the land of natural beauty because it has been covered with green forests, hills, mountains, and valleys.   I am proud of my country because it was never subjugated or dominated by any other country, even in the era of colonization. There were 22 or 24 sets of states in Nepal, which were unified by the King of Gorkha, Prithvi Narayan Shah. It was called Nepal, with its capital in Kasthmandu, presently known as Kathmandu. Jungbahadur Rana established the Rana Dynasty, which ended after 104 years. Later, the monarchy came, which was finished in 2063. Now we are practicing it as a pure democratic country. My country has been divided into three geographical zones: Terai, Hills, and Mountains, including Valleys. The culture of one place does not completely resemble that of another. The wear, food, and standards of living also differ. There is a difference in language, too. Religious tolerance exists among people of various ethnic groups: Hindu festivals are celebrated by Muslims and others. Similarly, Hindus also participate in the festivals of minorities. There is no history of communal riots in my country.   I am more proud that the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, Kapilvastu (Lumbini), is here. He established Buddhism, which is followed approximately all over Asia and partly on other continents, too. Janakpur is well-known for giving birth to Sita, the incarnation of the goddess Laxmi.   Thus, I am proud of my country because it is a source of inspiration for the whole world. It has its glory and natural history that can bring it up more and more, and my pride will be spreading day by day. I'll proudly say I am Nepali, and my country is Nepal.

[# Sample 2]: Essay Our Country Nepal (324 words)

Our country, Nepal, is a landlocked country. It is located in South Asia, between two massive countries, China and India. India lies to the south, east, and west of Nepal, whereas the Chinese autonomous region of Tibet lies to the north. It is divided into three distinct geographical zones: the highest Himalayan range, the hills, and the low-land hills. It is an agricultural country full of natural resources. The highest peak, Mt. Everest, is in Nepal.

Life in a mountainous region is extremely difficult. There is a lack of transportation. So people living there rely on air transport. Cultivation is also very difficult, so it is famous for the husbandry [cattlekeeping] occupation. Hilly areas contain some road facilities. They have stair-like fields for cultivation. But the lowland region is an appropriate place for good cultivation. The cultivation and products from it vary according to place and climate. In the Himalayas, it is very cold. In hilly areas, it is temperate, but in the low-land hills (terai), it is sometimes too hot and sometimes too cold.

Our country is called the second-largest country in the field of water resources. There are many rivers in our country. They are the Mechi, the Mahakali, the Seti, the Koshi, the Bagmati, the Kamali, the Narayani, the Gandaki, the Rapti, the Bheri, etc. But we don't get many advantages from it. Similarly, it is full of natural resources, but we are unable to take advantage of them due to a lack of money, good technology, and strong will. There are only a few factories in our country. But we are unable to provide them with electricity to run them smoothly.

We must be willing to utilize natural resources to develop our nation; we should advertise its beauty all over the world so that lots of tourists can come here. We should also try to save its beauty. We should take an oath to maintain unity among its citizens forever.

nepali essay on my country nepal

My role in my countrys development

nepali essay on my country nepal

My role in my country’s development

We all love our country. Love should not just be an expression portrayed in words but should be visible in one’s actions. A patriot is an example of someone who observes and practices these rules. Unfortunately, this attitude is difficult to bring about in many people. We can say that steps for our nation’s welfare is a difficult route to take. Developing a country to make it better is the first and foremost duty of every citizen. Like every other person, even I have my own roles and responsibilities in the development of my country, Nepal.

Development for a country is essential like oxygen for living things. Development gives any country the fresh breath of air which living things need. I am not a grown-up with much knowledge about my country but I am positively aware of the role I must play in order to improve the condition of my country. There is a saying in Sanskrit, 'Janani Janma Vumischa Swargadapi Gariyashi' which means mother and motherland are greater than heaven. Therefore, taking this saying in mind, we must put in more effort to make this heaven even more heavenly.

As a student, I have learnt of Nepal’s backwardness and its underlying factors. This imposes as a difficult challenge if I am to promote my country but as long as I take my mind off the negative factors, I can be successful in completing my duty.

Many people leave Nepal because of their poor condition and settlement. I understand that I should not think of migrating to foreign countries but help to make Nepal a destination country for others. To achieve that, I must study hard. The previous generation made Nepal a good place for us to call home and today, it is my generation’s turn to make it even better for the future generations to live in. That being said, I am not capable of doing it alone. Hence, everyone should take their part in it.

On April 25, an earthquake struck Nepal. This is what Nepal will be known for — a victim of Mother Nature’s wrath instead of the country of Mount Everest or The Gurkhas. We do not need sympathy but we deserve an applause for standing tall despite the tremor that was supposed to make us fall. We also need to be known for our great work, our colours and our nature.

My role in development is not to make Nepal like America but to leave my country as it is; not hiding her colours or forgetting her roots. I will try to help Nepal in any way I can. Being a Nepali, I have to work hard which will hopefully, one day, be beneficial to my motherland. Slowly but surely, Nepal will shine as the brightest star because I played my part together with all my fellow citizens living in every nook and corner of Nepal giving everything we could offer.

For Nepal, says Everest record-setting female climber

N epal's Phunjo Jhangmu Lama, who smashed the record for the fastest ascent of Everest by a woman, said Sunday she is not chasing records but climbing for her country.

Lama on Thursday conquered the world's highest mountain in just 14 hours and 31 minutes -- a feat that usually takes other climbers days to rest and acclimatise.

The mountain guide and skilled helicopter long-line rescuer -- flying in dangling from a rope to extract injured climbers -- chopped more than 11 hours off the previous best that had stood since 2021.

Generations of men from Nepal, especially from the famed Sherpa community, have climbed the Himalayas, while their wives and daughters have traditionally kept the home fires burning.

But in a sign of changing times, a string of Nepali women are now climbing and breaking records.

"I don't know if my climb will inspire other women," Lama said, a mother of a daughter.

"But what I want to say is, that if we pursue this profession, there are many opportunities for women trekkers and climbers".

- 'Passion, work and everything' —

Lama was back at base camp in an incredible 24 hours and 26 minutes.

But she said her motivation was to showcase the skills of Nepal's talented mountain guides, who risk their lives to bring clients from around the world to the top of the 8,849-metre (29,000-foot) peak.

"I am not chasing records", Lama said when she arrived in the capital Kathmandu, noting how Nepal was famed for its mountaineering.

"I, as a guide, was thinking: 'What can we do to show that to the world?'" she said. "Maybe we can show that we have talented guides, to bring mountaineers here".

Climbing Everest can be deadly, with at least four people killed on the peak this year, but the experience and training of Nepal's guides play a huge role in reducing the risk.

"I am a guide and work in the mountaineering -- this is my profession and work," she said. "The mountains are tied to my passion, work and everything."

Lama, who said she is 32, previously set the record in 2018, when she climbed Everest in 39 hours and six minutes.

That record was broken in 2021 by Ada Tsang Yin-hung from Hong Kong, who conquered the mountain in 25 hours and 50 minutes.

"I was very happy when I reached the summit," she said. "In my last attempt ...I faced problems along the route, but this time everything worked out."

Nepali climber Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa holds the record for the fastest ascent of Everest, reaching the summit in 10 hours and 56 minutes in 2003.

- 'Message of peace' -

Her summit also coincided with festivals to celebrate Buddha's birthday.

"I feel blessed... I have grown up in Buddhist traditions and to have reached the summit on that day was special," she told AFP, draped in a white scarf and Nepali flag.

"In my mind, it was a message of peace and non-violence for everyone in the world."

Lama grew up in the Tsum Valley in Nepal's Gorkha district -- a remote rural area that includes Manaslu, the world's eighth-highest mountain.

She spent her childhood with her grandfather herding yaks.

"I was born in the mountains and grew up in the mountains... but our community is not very involved in mountaineering," she said.

In 2014, she started training for rescues and met other climbers, sparking a passion.

She began climbing in 2016, going on to scale peaks including Manaslu and the other Himalayan giant Cho Oyu, and also trained in the Swiss Alps.

"She is a very strong climber," her guide Tendi Sherpa of Tag Nepal told AFP. "She loves the mountains. The record she set is amazing."

More than 600 climbers and their guides have already reached the summit of Everest after a rope-fixing team reached the peak last month.

Most have emptied the tented city at its base camp, with only a few teams aiming for the summit next week.

Nepal has issued more than 900 permits for its mountains this year, including 419 for Everest, earning more than $5 million in royalties.

This year, China also reopened the Tibetan route to foreigners for the first time since closing it in 2020 because of the pandemic.

Nepal is home to eight of the world's 10 highest peaks and welcomes hundreds of adventurers each spring, when temperatures are warm and winds typically calm.

One of the greatest Mount Everest guides on Wednesday expressed concerns about the peak’s growing piles of garbage, as he was honored by his government to mark Everest Day.

Sherpa guide Kami Rita , who has scaled Mount Everest a record 30 times , was honored by Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Kathmandu on the anniversary of the first successful summit by New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Nepali Sherpa Tenzing Norgay in 1953 .

Kami Rita said he was deeply worried by the accumulation of garbage that’s been surfacing as ice and snow melt from the peak.

“It is very necessary to immediately direct our attention to this,” he said, adding that Everest Day should really be celebrated by government funding campaigns to clean up the camps near the summit.

There have been clean up campaigns on the mountain almost every year. A team of Nepali soldiers were still on the mountain picking up trash left behind by previous expeditions.

“At the moment, not enough garbage has been taken out from Camp 3 or 4,” Kami Rita said. “There had been cleanup campaigns but all of that have been for either Camp 2 or below.”

Kami Rita also said Sherpa guides working on the mountain should have better conditions and benefits.

“There needs to be increased amount of insurance up to 6,000,000 rupees ($45,000) and there should be a provident fund,” he said.

The 54-year-old guide had scaled the 8,849-meter (29,032-foot) peak twice this month, breaking his own record for the most successful climbs.

His closest competitor is fellow Sherpa guide Pasang Dawa, who has 27 successful ascents.

Kami Rita first climbed Everest in 1994 and has been making the trip nearly every year since. He is one of many Sherpa guides whose expertise and skills are vital to the safety and success each year of foreign climbers aspiring to stand on top of the world.

His father was among the first Sherpa mountain guides. In addition to his Everest climbs, Kami Rita has scaled several other peaks that are among the world’s highest, including K2, Cho Oyu, Manaslu and Lhotse.

Several climbers and people in the community were honored alongside Kami Rita.
