Understanding the Concept of Hard Work

Hard work serves as the foundation upon which great achievements are built. Whether it is about academics, career or achieving personal goals, hard work is an essential part of every process. Putting consistent effort into a task or goal until it is completed is truly hard work. It evolves giving one´s complete energy, focus, and perseverance to overcome any obstacles or difficulties that may arise in the path of an individual.

Consider an example of a girl named Priya who dreams of becoming a doctor. She decided to work extremely hard right from an early age. Taking care of her daily routine, keeping attentive in her academics, and spending several more hours revising the concepts and doing practice questions kept her spirits high.

If in any case, she does not score well on tests, instead of getting demotivated, she analyzes where she went wrong and works even harder to improve next time. Her passion and perseverance helped her to gain admission into her dream medical college.

Benefits of Hard Work in Academics

The common sentiment about the value of hard work says that hard work is the foundation of success, whether in real life or in academics. It is the continuous dedication of one to continue the path of improvement, development, excellence, and achievement

Hard work is important not just for academics, but for all aspects of life. When you work hard in your household or your hobbies, you develop a sense of responsibility and discipline, which is going to help you in every part of your life. The sense of responsibility teaches you well how to prioritize your tasks and efficiently manage your time.

Furthermore, hard work helps not only in overcoming obstacles but also in building up a problem-solver and enhances self-confidence. This confidence further initiates other areas of life and boosts up to take on new challenges and responsibilities with determination.

How to Develop a Growth Mindset through Hard Work?

After learning the benefits of hard work, it is important to understand how we can develop a mindset through our hard work. In reality, a growth mindset is the belief in immense effort and practice, and of course, taking pain for your task is the only key to success.

For example, if a student finds a subject difficult at the beginning, keeping a pace of working hard continuously helps in understanding it better. The idea that your capabilities can expand through hard work helps you develop a growth mindset.

Accept the challenges and see every failure as an opportunity. We all make mistakes and they play an important role in learning. The thing is, one should not get discouraged and keep on striving for the best with hard work.

Role of Parents and Schools in Encouraging Hard Work

School plays an important role in encouraging a strong work ethic in students. Teachers can create an environment that encourages as well as rewards students for their hard work. They can design a challenging curriculum that pushes the students to work hard and think critically. At the same time, parents can also build a home environment where the child gets inspired by them.

When the raisers model themselves either through professions or household responsibilities, the children learn the importance of sweat and tears.

Hard work is the key to success in academics, in a career, and in life itself. It helps you to learn better, and achieve your goals and mindset. When individuals put in the effort and see the fruits of their labor, they gain a sense of accomplishment, pride, and self-worth. This positive boost motivates them to continue striving for excellence taking on new challenges and developing important qualities like discipline, determination, and a growth mindset.

Essay on Hard Work for Students in English [Easy Words]

January 13, 2021 by Sandeep

Essay on Hard Work: The basic factor that leads a person to success is undoubtedly hard work. Sitting idle and waiting for the right opportunity to come our way results in no progress. It is only with a lot of hard work that a person can achieve his dreams. We have to maintain consistency in our efforts and never let laziness and boredom replace them. We should work hard to use failure as a stepping stone to success.

Essay on Hard Work 500 Words in English

Below we have provided Hard Work Essay in English, suitable for class 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10.

“I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.” ~ Thomas Jefferson

You can never reach your aims or goals without working hard. Hard work is defined as putting in maximum effort and showing maximum endurance. It is rightfully said that the only way you can guarantee success in your life is by working hard. It has no other substitute. A person is put on this earth, not merely to survive, but to live. While you live, you develop certain aspirations and dreams. As a human being, one has to be committed to their desires and put hard work in the path to achieving them.

Hard Work is the Key to Success

This is a famous English proverb that holds true since centuries. Success is something that everyone wants, but alas! It is not free. One has to pay the price for it by working hard. You are expected to sacrifice and struggle for success. It is okay to get only a three hour sleep, and it is entirely alright to fail at times. Hard work along the way teaches us the true meaning and value of things. It helps us respect our work and develop many great qualities. But working hard alone does not guarantee your success. You need to have faith in yourself and strong self-belief. We all are bound to fail in something sometime or the other. Don’t fear failure and see yourself climbing the staircase to success faster and faster.

Importance of Hard Work

Hard work is essential to achieve something in life. It is important and holds value because it teaches us discipline, helps us gain a purpose and bestows us with miraculous results. Hard work helps us build discipline in life. A businessman does not become a billionaire overnight. He goes through many trials and errors. It takes years for him to network and builds an empire. He slowly climbs every step of the ladder.

On the way, he learns humility and discipline. This is how he can manage his people effectively. Similarly, you cannot expect an athlete to win an Olympic medal without any practice. They have to learn endurance and resort to training for very long hours. Working hard gives us a purpose in life. It helps us overcome our laziness and procrastinating attitude. We are filled with zeal to fulfil our dreams. We develop patience and start aiming higher with every milestone achieved.

Hard work also helps us get rid of our bad habits and doubts and helps us overcome our failures. The best thing about working hard is that it gives you results. You get to measure your progress at each stage. This helps you persevere and add momentum to your life. Many people simply sit around and wait for good things to happen. But trust me, nothing great can ever come to you if you do not take action. Find strength in yourself and accomplish what you have set out to do.

Write an essay on the importance of hard work and punctuality in a student’s life.

Hard Work and Punctuality in a Student’s Life

Hard work will inevitably lead to a successful life. As Margaret Thatcher quotes ‘I do not know anyone who has gotten to the top without hard work. That is the recipe. It will not always get you to the top, but it will get you pretty near.’ Hard work is the building block to success. It is evident that there are people who rely on their intelligence to attain success. But a person who puts in consistent and constant efforts will reach wherever he or she wants as long as he or she clearly sets his or her goals.

Some people have the notion that luck plays a critical role in achieving success in life. Well, this is absolutely false. Person might be lucky once or twice but not always. It is important to understand that the success attained by luck is always temporary whereas hard work yields permanent success. If we genuinely want to achieve something, it is only our tough grind that will take us to the top.

Striving hard can also help to develop and augment one’s brain’s capacity in terms of intelligence and talents provided a person is ready to strive regularly by keeping his mindset on his or her goals.

Being punctual is another key ingredient in meeting our goals and objectives. Being punctual, also shows we have respect for people and their time. Surely lateness in whatever form is unacceptable and people detest it. Being punctual also gives an indication of our ability to complete tasks given to us at the set times.

Furthermore, being punctual also requires a good measure of discipline. Once we can discipline ourselves, being punctual automatically becomes second nature to us. We’ll start to do it without being asked or forced into doing it.

My parents often ask me to work hard to do better in life. But, I couldn’t understand the gravity of this virtue until I heard my teacher explaining its importance once in class. She told us nothing could be achieved without putting the right amount of hard work into it. You can’t do maths until you practice your calculations and equations. You cannot learn singing or dancing until you repetitively perform the rhythm and moves. She gave many examples. She also took names of many great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Edison, and Narendra Modi to emphasise the importance of hard work. Her words of wisdom were great to hear. She made us understand:

What Is Hard Work?

Hard work, in simple words, is what you do and how you do to achieve your goal. It is a process of doing regular, habitual, and diligent work/ practice to complete/master a task or achieve an aim. It sometimes involves a person’s physical and emotional involvement to reach a destination/dream/goal, etc. Like a student must study hard to do well in studies.

Significance Of Hard Work

Hard work is essential to do anything in life, and it teaches us discipline, time management, dedication and determination. It is known that any ambition needs planning, devotion, focus, and hard work. Sometimes, failures bog us down on the road of hard work, but persistent hard work provides us with the experience and power to overcome any obstacle. We become more knowledgeable and confident with time, and success comes.

Hard Work Leads To Success

Have you heard an idle and lazy person become the CEO of a company? Maybe in movies or dramas but in real life, hard work is the reason behind a person’s success. See Mark Zuckerburg, founder of Facebook. When he thought of Facebook, he was a student and worked hard to achieve his dream. He is so successful. Without a doubt, hard work is the key to success. When we work hard, positive results come, giving us happiness and a sense of satisfaction.

The most crucial thing your child will learn from the article on hard work is its importance in life. An essay on the values of hard work provides them with a clear perspective of this most needed virtue.

1. Why It Is Important for Students to Know about Hard Work?

Student life is very crucial for an individual to have a stable future. If they learn the importance of hard work, they can achieve anything with ease in life and be successful.

2. How Does Hard Work Relate To Success?

If a person doesn’t work hard towards his goal or ambition, they cannot achieve success in their life. If a student does not study, they will lag in the journey of knowledge. Similarly, every profession needs hard work and determination to succeed.

Hard work is the only way to achieve any ambition or goal in life, and kids must imbibe this crucial virtue to have a successful and content life.

College Essay: Hard work now, success later

Luis Rosas

For a couple of years in my early childhood, I regularly slept at night in a car. I would lie in the backseat, my legs stretching all the way to the other seat. Sometimes I would snore.

I was there because I was raised by my mother and grandfather, who both worked (and still work) two jobs, one of which was delivering newspapers. There was no one else to take care of me. I started to go to their newspaper delivery job with them—some nights with my mother, and some with my grandfather, while I slept in the car.

At first, I thought it was fun sleeping in the car while they were working, and whenever I’d wake up, I would help them. As I grew older, it all became real. I realized they actually needed my help at work so we could earn enough money to have a stable life.

Today, I work two jobs—at a fast food restaurant after school and overnight on weekends delivering newspapers.

I work all weekend. After I’m done with school on Friday, I go straight to work at Chipotle, where I serve food. It’s almost midnight when I get out, then I’ll rest and wake up around 2 a.m. to go work with my grandfather, delivering Star Tribune newspapers.

After my route, I get home around 7 a.m., eat breakfast, sleep, and wake up around 2 p.m. Sometimes my grandfather will wake me up to go grocery shopping and buy ourselves something to eat. For the rest of the day, I have a small amount of time to hang out with my friends, but I eventually have to be back home before midnight, because that’s when I go to work again with my grandfather. I repeat the same schedule as Saturday.

This is my teenage-years routine. It stresses me out, and I wish I had more time for myself or to spend time with friends and family. I am missing out on the teenage life others lead.

I take this as a life lesson. I am determined to use my ambition to make certain my future children are able to live a more typical teenage life.

Fortunately, I have earned many opportunities, such as attending a good school (Cristo Rey Jesuit High School) that prepares me for college. I’ve received academic awards from school and from my corporate work study program, where I work in a corporate office one day per week during the school year. I’ve been involved in a research program at my school and with the University of St. Thomas called Together Possible, and I’ve been in a summer journalism program at St. Thomas called ThreeSixty Journalism.

I am determined to use all these and other opportunities to thrive in college. Succeeding in college—and as the first in my family to do that—will change my life as well as those around me.

“Yo quiero que tu vivas una vida más mejor que yo,” my mother will constantly say to me. (“I want you to live a better life than the one I’m living.”)

“Yo voy hacer a ti y a mi abuelo orgulloso, ma. Lo hare. Lo se que lo hare.” (“I will make you and grandfather proud, Mom. I will. I know I will.”)

Importance of Hard Work in Our Life | Essay for Children

December 3, 2017 by Study Mentor 1 Comment

Every man’s life on this life has a purpose.  We work throughout our lives to fullfill that purpose and achieve a greater goal. Without aim a human’s life is useless. It’s like a ship with no destination and nowhere to reach.

To achieve this aim one has to work for it throughout his life. Not work just work, but hard work. Hard work is doing something with full concentration and labour. There should be a passion to work for it.

There are many examples from the pages of history how great men have achieved huge successes just my hard work and determination. So much so was their metal grit in achieving something that nothing mattered to them although how much may be the criticism, opposition and controversies they had to face. But they remained aloof and continued with their aim but one day their innovations changed the face of the world.

Table of Contents

Thinking of hard work we come across the following questions in mind

Why is hard work important, what is the right time for doing hard work, how should i know that i am working hard.

  • Does hard work always payoff?
  • What if i don’t get the results even after working hard?
  • What happens to the person who doesn’t work hard?

Solving the questions systematically we come across the following conclusions

Man’s primary aim in life is to survive. Hard work is like a medium through which we can reach our aim. Without hard work we cannot reach at our destination.

And without destination means a jobless man, hence you cannot survive. Nowadays competition is such that you have to be specialist in your field. And to be a specialist we have to work hard.

In true sense the right time is ‘now’. Actually there is no perfect time for doing some hard work. The truck driver and conductor will be there.

They’ll guide the lorry and trucks. So you can see there is no such time for doing hard work. The more you do it the better it is. So hard work can be done at anything and anywhere, but where it is done. It should be done with full concentration and energy. Half hearted approach is never a good solution. It will degrade the quality of work.

When you pay your hundred percent attentions to get something done. Remember at that time hard work is getting done. When you work hard nobody needs to tell you that.

You will know by yourself. You’ll feel exhausted. And a certain passion doing better than what you are doing now will take the better of you. And again you’ll work double to give a better performance. It is all about passion. Your zeal to deliver the finest quality of work.

Does hard work always pay off?

Sometimes there are times we will not get back the fruits of our labour. But we have to always remember hard work always pays off. Maybe not immediately, but it surely does in the long run.

If you learn something as a hobby or some special arts, maybe at that time it won’t benefit you in any way. But who knows that one day it might become your greatest skill in your career or might help you to get out of difficult situations.

Hence we can see hard work never goes wasted. So we should never refrain from doing hard work thinking that it will never benefit us in any way.

What if i don’t get the results even after working hard?

Hard Work essay

Don’t be disheartened. It is actually an opportunity for you to better yourself, to try harder. It is an opportunity for you to do even better than you. Hence keep trying and one day you will succeed for sure.

“Failures are stepping stones of success”

What happens to the person who doesn’t work hard?

He fails miserably. Both in his work and in his life. He will never know the joy that one feels when one’s hard work pays off. His life will be filled with failures and losses. He will start hating himself that he cannot do anything without a fail. Hence it is better not to have such a life.

He will lead a lazy life for sure. But he will also repent for that. Later in life when he will see his friends and peers doing something in life, that they are way ahead of him and that they are achieving success, at that time hell feel like a loser. At that time hell repent for the time he wasted and the time that he is never getting back. There is no way to make up for that. No way to mend.

All of us are familiar with the famous story of the lazy sons. There was a father who was growing old. He had three sons. All of them were lazy and this was his main cause of worry. One day he called all his sons and told them that he had hidden a bucket of gold somewhere in his field.

The three sons dug up the fields in a day to find the gold but they didn’t find it anywhere. Disappointed they came back and asked their father about it. The father laughed and told the sons to sow some seeds in the field and water them regularly.

They did the same. Soon golden ears of corn came out and they had a plentiful harvest. The sons got a lot of money by selling the crops. Now they understood what their father meant by ‘hidden gold’.

Problems of Agriculture Marketing in Nepal

Nepal is an agricultural country so, a well developed agricultural marketing system is necessary for encouraging farmers for higher production from the land. But the agricultural system in Nepal is highly exploitative because farmers don’t get a reasonable price for their products. There are many problems related to the management and development of agricultural marketing in Nepal which is as follows:

1. Lack of transportation and communication facilities:

Especially, farmers in the village can’t carry their products to the market centers due to the lack of transportation facilities. Similarly, due to the lack of communication facilities, farmers are unable to get the market information like demand price, etc. so, they don’t know the actual price of their products. Thus, they have to sell their products in the primary market at a low price.

2. Lack of storage facilities:

The farmers have to sell their products immediately after harvest due to the lack of proper storage facilities. Generally, the price of agricultural products sharply falls during the harvesting season. Most of the food grains are destroyed or decayed if they are kept for the future. So, the farmers are compelled to sell their products at a low price.

3. No uniformity of weight and measures:

The standard uniform measurement system is not yet practiced yet in the rural area of Nepal. Most of the traders don’t use proper weight and measures. They still use traditional weight and measures such as mana, pathi, dharni, etc. and they also use stone, bricks, etc in buying goods which are not reliable and appropriate.

What did Black politicians accomplish during Reconstruction?

African Americans (including thousands of formerly enslaved people) in the political, economic and social life of the South. The era was to a great extent defined by their quest for autonomy and equal rights under the law, both as individuals and for the Black community as a whole. During Reconstruction, some 2,000 African Americans held public office, from the local level all the way up to the U.S. Senate, though they never achieved representation in government proportionate to their numbers.

Most of the group decides to use the wood to build a fence, which would divide the island from the beach. But some people don’t want to use the wood for that purpose. Do you think it would be fair to make those people help build the fence?

It wouldn't be fair but it would be more unfair if the majority lost so it would make more sense to build the fence with less opposition then build something else with the wood with more.

Read through this article titled "These Tiny Plastic-Munching Caterpillars Can Clean Up Our World - But There's A Catch"

When you Finish, Write a Paragraph Summary about the article.

(NOTE: The summary should be in your OWN WORDS; not copied from the article)

A species of caterpillar may provide answers on how to best eradicate plastic waste. Plastic waste is currently a 300 million-tons-per-year problem.

Researchers discovered the waxworm in 2017. It is seemingly able to eat through common types of plastic, including polyethylene. Polyethylene is a non-biodegradable type of plastic. It is the most commonly used plastic worldwide.

"They are voracious feeders during these larval stages," Bryan Cassone told USA TODAY. Cassone is an associate professor of biology at Brandon University.

Now researchers have offered an explanation. A study was published on March 3 in the open peer-reviewed journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B. It found that the micro-organisms in the wax worm's gut help them consume and metabolize plastics.

Image 2. Researchers would like to use what in the gut bacteria of the waxworm allows it to break down plastic. It could help design better ways to get rid of plastic from the environment. Photo: Zebek studio/Shutterstock

Researchers at Brandon University in Manitoba, Canada, found that waxworms are able to "ingest and metabolize polyethylene at unprecedented rates." This is thanks to the micro-organisms in their intestines.

"The caterpillar's gut microbiota seem to play a key role in the polyethylene biodegradation process," the researchers wrote.

Researchers found a greater amount of "microbial abundance" in the caterpillars' guts when they were ingesting plastic than when they ate a traditional diet of honeycomb.

In waxworms, polyethylene metabolizes into a glycol. Glycol is biodegradable.

Waxworms are not an end-all solution to plastic waste, however. Wax larvae are pests for bees. They naturally feed off honeycomb and run the risk of reducing their populations. In turn, they risk reducing populations of plants and crops.

Further, it remains unclear how the plastic breakdown process works in the waxworm. It is also unclear how its health is affected by its consumption.

The hope, Cassone said, is that researchers can harness what in the gut bacteria helps caterpillars so easily break down plastic. That way it can be used to design better ways to eliminate plastic from the environment.

"We envision harnessing the waxworm and its microbiome to develop approaches that do not require whole organisms – rather the products or by-products produced from their interactions that make their ability to break down plastic so efficient," Cassone said.

Survey research a research method involving the use of standardized questionnaires or interviews to collect data about people and their preferences, thoughts, and behaviors in a systematic manner. Although census surveys were conducted as early as Ancient Egypt, survey as a formal research method was pioneered in the 1930-40s by sociologist Paul Lazarsfeld to examine the effects of the radio on political opinion formation of the United States. This method has since become a very popular method for quantitative research in the social sciences.

The survey method can be used for descriptive, exploratory, or explanatory research. This method is best suited for studies that have individual people as the unit of analysis. Although other units of analysis, such as groups, organizations or dyads (pairs of organizations, such as buyers and sellers), are also studied using surveys, such studies often use a specific person from each unit as a “key informant” or a “proxy” for that unit, and such surveys may be subject to respondent bias if the informant chosen does not have adequate knowledge or has a biased opinion about the phenomenon of interest. For instance, Chief Executive Officers may not adequately know employee’s perceptions or teamwork in their own companies, and may therefore be the wrong informant for studies of team dynamics or employee self-esteem.

Survey research has several inherent strengths compared to other research methods. First, surveys are an excellent vehicle for measuring a wide variety of unobservable data, such as people’s preferences (e.g., political orientation), traits (e.g., self-esteem), attitudes (e.g., toward immigrants), beliefs (e.g., about a new law), behaviors (e.g., smoking or drinking

A second type of survey is group-administered questionnaire . A sample of respondents is brought together at a common place and time, and each respondent is asked to complete the survey questionnaire while in that room. Respondents enter their responses independently without interacting with each other. This format is convenient for the researcher, and high response rate is assured. If respondents do not understand any specific question, they can ask for clarification. In many organizations, it is relatively easy to assemble a group of employees in a conference room or lunch room, especially if the survey is approved by corporate executives
