RDX movie review: An explosive mass actioner that fully lives up to its title

Rdx, starring shane nigam, antony varghese and neeraj madhav, is the newest addition to the realm of malayalam cinema's absolute mass entertainers, encompassing all the essential components thoughtfully placed throughout the movie..

RDX movie review: Can anything be more powerful than a well-executed mass movie to ignite large crowds and immerse them in feelings of immense excitement? Nonetheless, it’s vital for the mass components to be seamlessly integrated into the film rather than being inserted arbitrarily. When these elements flow naturally, there’s no halting the success of a mass entertainer in India, as demonstrated by recent blockbusters such as Rajinikanth’s Jailer , Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, Mammootty’s Bheeshma Parvam and Mohanlal’s Lucifer.

Debutant director Nahas Hidayath’s RDX: Robert Dony Xavier is the newest addition to the realm of Malayalam cinema’s absolute crowd-pullers, encompassing all the essential components thoughtfully placed throughout the movie.

RDX revolves around three youths – Robert (Shane Nigam), Dony (Antony Varghese), and Xavier (Neeraj Madhav), with Robert and Dony being siblings. Proficient in the martial art of Karate, the trio exudes fearlessness, possessing the ability to overcome any obstacle. Yet, a sequence of unfortunate events alter their trajectories, leading them to go their separate ways. Subsequently, they embark on individual journeys until fate orchestrates their reunion.

In contrast to other similar films that tend to excessively emphasise one actor and their role, primarily based on their star value, the well-crafted screenplay of RDX, penned by Adarsh Sukumaran and Shabas Rasheed, effectively ensures balanced significance for all three lead characters.

Even the individual intros of Robert, Dony, and Xavier at the outset, set in 2005, seamlessly align with their current life situations, while still catering to the desired mass appeal. Conversely, in the flashback set in the late 90s, they are introduced together, again in a dynamically stylish manner, unmistakably highlighting the unity among the trio.

A key highlight of RDX’s script is its initial sequence, spanning several minutes, which aptly lays the foundation for the forthcoming events. This sequence adeptly introduces a substantial number of main characters, delving into their traits and the bonds they share.

In the present time frame of RDX, the trio is depicted as individuals who have grown more composed and mature. In contrast, the flashback highlights their previous selves and the evolution that has shaped their current identities. The film’s script strategically arranges moments to create a seamless narrative progression leading to a powerful climax. This skilful script elevates the story, penned by director Nahas, beyond its average quality which shares similarities with common action, revenge dramas. A more precise trimming of the script would have helped the team in making a film with even greater impact, considering that certain instances in the present timeline could have easily been omitted.

Simultaneously, director Nahas’ conception of RDX deserves notable commendation. His remarkable control over the film and the impressive manner in which he envisioned the project elevate RDX to meet its namesake, leaving an explosive impression on audiences. Without hurrying through the action sequences and also giving due importance to the emotional dimensions, Nahas succeeded in crafting the finest masala movie of the year so far.

The stunt choreographer duo Anbariv undeniably shine in this actioner. Their exceptional work in movies like KGF, Vikram, and Sarpatta Parambarai resonates in RDX too, where each successive fight scene surpasses the previous one. Additionally, their attention to detail in portraying the trio’s youthful energy in the flashback and the present-day composure further enhances the film’s appeal. Leveraging the full potential of Karate and the remarkable agility and skill of the three lead actors, Anbariv has gifted Malayalam cinema with a truly unforgettable action experience.

Shane, Antony, and Neeraj deliver impressive performances in their respective roles, although the story’s lacklustre nature prevents them from having standout moments to truly showcase their acting prowess. Through RDX, Shane effectively silences his critics who label him as the ‘Depression Star’, showcasing his potential to achieve remarkable heights. Lal, Mahima Nambiar, Aima Rosmy Sebastian, Maala Parvathi, and Baiju also shine, despite the underwhelming narrative not providing them with substantial opportunities.

Although it’s natural to anticipate intense action from Babu Antony in any film he’s a part of, RDX fails to deliver that excitement until the conclusion, leaving the audience worried. Nevertheless, the movie astounds everyone by unleashing him towards the end, creating a truly exhilarating moment that justifies the wait.

Alex J Pulickal’s cinematography effectively captures the movie’s atmosphere, particularly the dynamic action sequences. However, it’s Sam CS’ background music that truly stands out, complementing the moments in an exceptional way. Regrettably, the omission of Jakes Bejoy’s song “Halaballoo” from the final cut somewhat dampens the mood, as it had the potential to enhance the overall experience.

Although Chaman Chakko’s editing impresses at many junctures, it somewhat falters during certain fight scenes due to frequent cuts that negatively impact the viewing experience.

In a recent conversation with The Indian Express , the movie’s producer Sophia Paul said that they came across RDX while searching for a project that encompassed action, scope for being multi-starrer, family-oriented entertainment, and choreographed songs suitable for big screens. Undoubtedly, RDX fulfils all the expectations she and the audience had for this festive period.

In short, RDX serves as the gift that Malayalam audiences have longed for — a theatrical entertainment that matches the electrifying experiences found in other languages.

RDX: Robert Dony Xavier (2023) Movie Review: An Out-and-Out Action Drama that feels A Little too Generic

RDX: Robert Dony Xavier (2023), as is evident from the name, aims to be explosive and succeeds at being one, only partially. The newest addition to Malayalam mass entertainers, this film is director Nahas Hidayath’s debut project. With the background score by Sam C.S. and the action sequences choreographed by Anbariv, the film presents a predictable revenge saga that appears to be a little too generic and simplified.

So, the story follows the gang of three brothers, Robert and Donny, and their friend Xavier, played by Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese, and Neeraj Madhav, respectively. They are freshly out of college, full of that angry young man rage, and their simple solution to life’s various troubles is – no brownie points for guessing – beating people up. These guys are well-trained in martial arts, which works in their favor and justifies their tremendous action prowess, as shown in the film. The narrative moves back and forth, and we get introduction shots of the three main characters, both individually and together. These intros land pretty well, especially the repeated introduction of the group, both back in the 90s and during the present, and the shots pack a punch every time.

However, despite the high-voltage action sequences backed by a powerful BGM, the story seems to lack that extra spice it needed to live up to its title. The revenge plot and progression seem to follow the textbook rule of revenge dramas. Despite some sensitive scenes and gory violence, connecting with the characters emotionally or rooting for them becomes a little challenging.

Though the film takes a considerable amount of time to establish the backstory of the three protagonists, it fails to make an impact. Given the current situation of the three characters, who are now shown to leave their past lives behind and live like mature and responsible men, it is natural to expect that their backstory would have something hugely impactful to result in this present. However, the backstory offers no such insight, and the reason behind the group going their separate ways appears somewhat fragile. There are almost no highly intimate, personal stakes involved in their past, and the reason depicted is rather generic and also resolved too soon. With the presence of two female leads, it feels like the backstory will get them involved to create a tense and compelling past, but no such thing happens.

However, one particular aspect that stands out in the film is that despite being an out-and-out action film, it portrays masculine rage quite finely and without appearing glaringly problematic. The three men here think of beating people up as the solution to most problems, but they don’t necessarily have anger issues or unresolved trauma that they channel through their fights. They fight for legitimate causes and also out of respect for their lessons in martial arts. Robert, Davy, and Xavier are not women-hating misogynists who find comfort in fights. They are rather lover boys and doting sons who dream of leading a simple life with their family and friends. This balanced portrayal of the angry young men adds to the film’s appeal.

The villains, however, could have been presented in a more menacing way. Though Vishnu Agasthya does a great job as Paulson, somewhere, the narrative seems to fail to justify his rage. 90s villain Babu Antony could have also been used better here. The villain gang appears to be engaged in violence for the sake of it, and though that trope might work for certain films, it doesn’t work that well here. As a result, we get an unhinged band of goons who belong to a specific colony (and here comes the problematic portrayal of the colony) and are always ready to get into vicious fights without any apparent and glaring reasons.

Despite being a little too long and yet not entirely sufficient, RDX works reasonably well because of its music and fiery action sequences. The lead actors here have done a great job, and none of their punches miss a beat. As for the BGM, the song Neela Nilave deserves a special mention. Its fusion of classical and contemporary music, coupled with the brilliant choreography, elevates the mood of the film in many folds. Overall, with pulsating action and acting, RDX is a good one-time watch to get that adrenaline kicking!

RDX Review: A delight for action enthusiasts

'RDX', starring Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese, and Neeraj Madhav, is fundamentally a family drama brimming with high-voltage fistfights and brawls. It's not quite on par with 'Thallumaala.' The narrative unfolds in a linear fashion, chronicling clashes among a group of rugged men. RDX carves a distinct niche for itself in Malayalam cinema's action genre, thanks to its impeccable close-combat fighting sequences. Our protagonists waste no time, elegantly showcasing their karate prowess whenever the opportunity arises.

The backdrop and combat sequences might evoke memories of Lijo Jose Pellissery's 'Angamaly Diaries', as the brawls ensue in a festive setting with multiple characters becoming embroiled. However, the similarities end there, as the plot takes a different trajectory. In RDX, director Nahaz Hidayat prioritises delivering the right 'punches', which might explain the straightforward storyline – a devout father, his young adult children, a church festival, an attempted assault on a politician, and one of the sons finding himself in the midst of the turmoil.

The stunts by Anbariv and Irfan Khan elevate the film's quality. Yet, it's the actors who deserve credit, having executed punches and kicks with finesse. Shane Nigam dominates much of the screen time. Antony's role is equally well-developed, though Neeraj's character, Xavier, appears somewhat underwhelming. Only the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

In conclusion, the film will likely resonate more with audiences seeking a cinematic experience with high-octane and high-voltage fight sequences this Onam season.

RDX movie review: Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese's film rides high on pulsating action scenes

Story: Brothers Robert and Doney along with their friend Xavier are trained in karate, and their skills come handy every time they get into a fight - which is often. But a confrontation goes too far, forcing the ones who care to split them up to prevent any bloodshed. Years later, when Doney's family is threatened by a group of goons, the three reunite.

Review: Post pandemic, it's become essential for a movie to have enough cinematic elements to attract audiences to theatres. And from the movies that have worked in theatres so far, across the country, it seems that action movies are probably the best bet to offer the big screen experience for the audience. But it's also a genre that is hard to pull off when the underlying storyline is thin, even if the stunts are amazing. Debutant filmmaker Nahas Hidayath's RDX, which stars Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese and Neeraj Madhav in the titular roles of Robert, Doney and Xavier, flits between ordinary and spectacular - the latter especially during its action scenes.

Its stunt choreographers Anbariv actually play a major role in driving the film, which is essentially built on five pulsating action scenes. Too much action can be a bad thing for movies that are almost 2 hours and 30 minutes, but in RDX, the makers prove that if done right, these can often enable the audience to overlook the flat storyline and performances. 

Each of these sequences is mounted on a big scale or at least has a novel aspect to it, keeping the audience hooked. There is a purpose to every fight; it's not just needless or mindless throwing of daggers and roundhouse kicks. There is a stake in every fight - be it to build up the heroes, tear down their egos, show off their skills or even pull their loved ones out of danger when facing an army of men. The filmmaker and Anbariv duo also make these scenes look convincing, with Sam CS' music and frenzied editing helping matters.

The story, however, is wafer thin. It has just enough emotional thread to keep the audience attached to its characters and their need for revenge. This is also why the flashback scenes of the characters in the first half doesn't add too much to the film, except give it an additional layer of an entertainer. But to be honest, RDX is at its weakest here - both in terms of the scripting and performances. It's only in the second half that the film finds its fuel and when it does, there's no stopping it.

Among the trio, Shane Nigam is pitched as the central character - only because it's his romance and consequent fight that sets the ball rolling. That said he gets to showcase a side that is rarely seen from the talented actor. Antony Varghese gets to display a sensitive side of him. Neeraj gets the short end of the stick in the film as he is relegated to a nunchuck-flinging sidekick of the two brothers. But he along with Babu Antony get their mass moments in the film.

‘RDX: Robert Dony Xavier’ Netflix Movie Review - The Stain of Old Rivalry

RDX starts by showing an attack on Dony’s family. In this fight, even a one or two-year-old child, Sera, wasn’t spared. The goons even beat the women of the family and this serves as a clue that something big is going on.

Robert is Dony’s brother and after something horrible happened in the past, he was sent to live in Bangalore. Xavier is the third friend and he teaches kids karate. This trio is the core of RDX and by picking up their initials, you get the title of the film.

The plot of RDX is very simple. Two years ago, the RDX members picked up a fight with some goons. The matter got settled, but the enemies returned stronger. They’re now targeting Robert’s family as he broke their head’s legs. RDX after going their separate ways two years ago, reunite to make these goons pay for laying their hands on their family members.

What makes the film different is its action scenes and sweet love story. Certain scenes in the film make you happy and anxious at the same time. The trio had a lot of guts to go against such a big gang. Every minute of the film is worth a watch.

The desi Indian inside of you wants to whistle in many instances. Had I been in the theatre watching RDX, I would have whistled several times and I’m sure that the movie would have received the same reaction from the whole theatre.

There came a point in RDX when I assumed that the plot was now over, but there were 27 minutes still left. I was afraid that the writers would spoil what they have made so far by stretching the subject. Contrary to my thought, the ending made the film an even better experience.

One might get bored of the action scenes easily if there is no motive behind it. What if the motive to fight is to protect your family? A human would not stop at any limit if they had to protect their family. This trio wins our hearts, and I couldn’t help but notice Robert’s bike having the initial RDX on it.

My only regret is that Mini and Robert’s love story didn’t have a good ending. The song in which the maker showed us their love story was adorable. Be it the dance moves or the beats, it makes you fall in love with this pair. The couple has a childish love which makes you remember the first time you fell in love.

There’s a scene in the film where Robert is fighting goons at the carnival. He was alone and surrounded by the enemies. He was pushed on the chair and just when he was about to fall, we see that his body didn’t come in contact with the ground and neither did the chair move. This one or two seconds of silence marks the entry of Xavier and Dony. This has to be among the best-filmed scenes in RDX. It also serves as the hint that the fight is now going to go in favor of our heroes.

Shane Nigam as Robert, Antony Varghese as Dony, and Neeraj Madhav as Xavier have brought a power-packed performance on screen. I wish that the film soon gets dubbed in other various languages as well so that the audience can enjoy it. The total duration of the film is 150 minutes and delivers a power-packed experience.

Other than a new two-year/24,000-mile complimentary scheduled maintenance plan and free access to the AcuraLink connectivity plan for three years, the RDX enters the 2023 model year without any changes to its styling, features, or powertrain.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The price of the 2023 Acura RDX starts at $42,945 and goes up to $52,545 depending on the trim and options.

Acura offers the RDX in one trim but provides several distinct packages to jazz it up. Front-wheel drive is standard but all-wheel drive is available. Since the A-Spec version is pricey and lacks any real performance improvements, we'd forgo that. But we would recommend adding the Technology package that brings a better audio system, navigation, fancier leather-trimmed seats, and more. Those who want adaptive dampers and a head-up display will have to spring for the Advance package, but that significantly increases the bottom line.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Every RDX is powered by a 272-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive (or "SH-AWD" in Acura-speak). The A-Spec version we tested needed 6.2 seconds to hit 60 mph at our test track, which places it mid-pack among compact luxury SUVs. The RDX's throttle is responsive at low speeds, and it pulls away from stoplights with enough pep for most drivers. The transmission could be quicker to downshift, especially when the driver uses the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The turbocharged engine makes the RDX sound a bit like the NSX, with a high-pitched roar during hard acceleration, but much of that noise is artificial and piped into the cabin through the audio system's speakers. The RDX we drove had large 20-inch wheels and optional adaptive dampers that allow you to adjust the ride quality. While our test vehicle failed to isolate the cabin from harsh impacts on the roughest roads, it was never punishing or noisy. The torque-vectoring SH-AWD system also helped the RDX change directions quickly and was backed by precise-feeling steering. The RDX leaned only when we attacked a highway on-ramp, but otherwise, it was wonderfully balanced. Unfortunately, the brake pedal diminished the experience, due to its inconsistent firmness and responsiveness.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The RDX has competitive EPA fuel-economy ratings that approach the mid-20s, with the front-drive model getting slightly higher city and highway estimates than the all-wheel-drive one. The former is rated at 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway; both those numbers drop by 1 mpg when you select all-wheel drive. Opting for the A-Spec package will reduce both highway estimates by 1 mpg, to 27 mpg with the front-driver and 26 mpg for the SH-AWD car. We tested an RDX A-Spec SH-AWD on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route, which is part of our extensive testing regimen , and achieved 26 mpg—exactly its EPA rating. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

Inside, the center stack is a little busy, with a lot of buttons, a touchpad, and a large rotary drive-mode selector sitting front and center. The version we tested had the A-Spec package's flashy red seats and several other exclusive styling bits. While the cabin's notable build quality and desirable standard features (ambient lighting; power-adjustable, heated front seats; dual-zone climate control) were appreciated, the RDX fails to feel luxurious. The Acura delivers a sportier experience than something like the Honda CR-V could ever provide. Nothing feels cheap or chintzy, and the driving position is high enough to satisfy SUV fans and flexible enough to appease driving enthusiasts. A handle on the outboard seats will release the back row so you can fold it flat. Or you can lower the seatbacks from the cargo hold using the secondary releases. We managed to fit eight carry-on bags with the seats up and 22 with them folded. The RDX has a large passthrough storage tray beneath its floating center console, too.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Every RDX has a 10.2-inch touchscreen perched high on the dashboard. It can also be operated via a touchpad on the center console. Acura calls the controller intuitive, but it took us a while to get accustomed to it. The RDX comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The optional Technology package adds built-in navigation, rear-seat USB ports, a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system, and more.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

Every model includes a host of standard driver-assistance technology , but several other assists are available with the Technology package. These include front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Key safety features include:

• Standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking
• Standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Acura provides a warranty on the RDX that aligns with its luxury competitors. However, its complimentary scheduled maintenance plan is a year shorter than what you’ll get with the BMW X3 and three years shorter than the Jaguar F-Pace .

కథేంటంటే: కొచ్చిలో ఏటా కార్నివాల్‌ జరుగుతుంటుంది. స్థానికంగా ఉండే ప్రజలందరూ వచ్చి చర్చిలో ప్రార్థనలు జరిపి, సంబరాల్లో పాల్గొంటారు. ఈ కార్నివాల్‌ ఎలాంటి ఇబ్బంది లేకుండా నిర్వహించే బాధ్యత అక్కడ సామిల్‌ ఓనర్‌ అయిన ఫిలిప్‌ (లాల్‌)ది. కార్నివాల్‌లో భాగంగా సంగీత కచేరీ జరుగుతుండగా, ఇద్దరు ఆగంతకులు వచ్చి నానా హంగామా చేస్తారు. చిన్నా, పెద్దా తేడా లేకుండా అందరినీ డ్యాన్స్‌ చేయమంటూ బలవంత పెట్టడంతో ఫిలిప్‌, ఆంటోనీ మాస్టర్‌ (బాబూ ఆంటోనీ)లు వారిని వద్దని వారిస్తారు. ఈ క్రమంలో ఆ ఇద్దరు ఆగంతకులకు తోడు మరో నలుగురైదుగురు వచ్చి గొడవ పడతారు. తన తండ్రి ఫిలిప్‌తో కొందరు గొడవ పడటాన్ని గమనించిన డానీ (ఆంటోనీ వర్ఘీస్‌) అక్కడికి వచ్చి సర్దిచెప్పే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తాడు. అయితే, వాళ్లు అవేమీ పట్టించుకోకుండా ఫిలిప్‌ను తోసేయడంతో డానీ కోపంతో వాళ్లను చితక్కొడతాడు. దీంతో ఆ ఆగంతకులు అక్కడి నుంచి వెళ్లిపోతారు. అదే రోజు రాత్రి వారంతా ముసుగులు వేసుకొచ్చి డానీ, అతడి కుటుంబాన్ని తీవ్రంగా కొట్టి గాయపరుస్తారు. ఇంతకీ డానీ కుటుంబంపై దాడి చేసింది ఎవరు?కేవలం ఈ కార్నివాల్‌లో జరిగిన గొడవ కారణంగానే దాడి చేశారా? లేక పాత కక్షలు ఏమైనా ఉన్నాయా? త‌న కుటుంబంపై దాడి జ‌రిగిన విషయం తెలిసిన ఫిలిప్ మ‌రో కొడుకు రాబ‌ర్ట్ (షేన్ నిగ‌మ్‌) కొచ్చికి తిరిగి వచ్చి ఏం చేశాడు? తన అన్న డానీ, ప్రాణ స్నేహితుడు జేవియ‌ర్‌ (నీర‌జ్ మాధ‌వ్‌)తో క‌లిసి ఆ గ్యాంగ్‌ను ఎలా ఎదుర్కొన్నాడు? తెలియాలంటే సినిమా చూడాల్సిందే.

సినిమా ఎలా ఉంది: రాబర్ట్‌(R), డానీ(D), జేవియర్‌ (X) అనే ముగ్గురు స్నేహితుల జీవితాల్లో జరిగిన సంఘటనల సమాహారమే ‘ఆర్‌డీఎక్స్‌’. సాధారణంగా ఫ్రెండ్‌షిప్‌ నేపథ్యంలో సినిమాలంటే లవ్‌, ఎమోషన్స్‌, ఫ్యామిలీ, కామెడీ ఇలా పలు అంశాలు మేళవించి ఉంటాయి. ఇవే పెట్టి తీస్తే, ‘ఆర్‌డీఎక్స్‌’ కూడా ఒక రొటీన్‌ సినిమా అయిపోయేది. ఈ కథకు మార్షల్‌ ఆర్ట్స్‌ అనే మరో పార్శ్వాన్ని జోడించి, యువతను ఆకట్టుకునేలా యాక్షన్‌ సీన్స్‌ను తీర్చిదిద్దడంలో దర్శకుడు నహస్‌ హిదయత్‌ విజయం సాధించాడు. కథ కొత్తది కాకపోయినా, దానిని ప్రజెంట్‌ చేసిన విధానం కాస్త డిఫరెంట్‌గా ఉంది. (RDX Movie Review in telugu) డానీ కుటుంబాన్ని పరిచయం చేస్తూ వారిపై దాడి సంఘటనతో త్వరగానే కథలోకి తీసుకెళ్లిపోయాడు దర్శకుడు. ఇంతకీ దాడి చేసిన వాళ్లు ఎవరు? అనే విచారించే క్రమంలో ఫ్లాష్‌ బ్యాక్‌ మొదలు పెట్టాడు. చదువులు పూర్తి చేసుకుని, ఉద్యోగ ప్రయత్నం చేయకుండా మార్షల్‌ ఆర్ట్స్‌ నేర్చుకుంటున్న ముగ్గురు స్నేహితుల కథకు కాస్త కామెడీ, ఇంకాస్త ప్రేమ జోడించడంతో పాటు, యువతను ఆకట్టుకునే మాస్‌ మసాలా అంశాలైన యాక్షన్‌ మోడ్‌ను కాస్త బాగానే దట్టించాడు. ఫ్లాష్‌ బ్యాక్‌లో రాబర్ట్‌ ప్రేమకథ కాస్త సాగదీసినట్లు అనిపించినా, విరామ సన్నివేశాల ముందు వచ్చే యాక్షన్‌ ఎపిసోడ్‌ చూస్తే గూస్‌బంప్స్‌ ఖాయం. ఈ గొడవ తర్వాత ఫిలిప్‌ తన కొడుకు రాబర్ట్‌ను బెంగళూరు పంపించేయడంతో కథ మళ్లీ వర్తమానానికి వస్తుంది. ఇక్కడి నుంచి స్నేహితులతో కలిసి డానీ కుటుంబంపై దాడి చేసిన వారిని కనిపెట్టడం, వారిని తాట తీయడం, ఇలా ప్రతి సీన్‌ హైపిచ్‌లో వెళ్తూ ఉంటుంది. ప్రీక్లైమాక్స్‌, క్లైమాక్స్‌లో వచ్చే యాక్షన్‌ సీక్వెన్స్‌ సినిమాకే హైలైట్‌. నాన్‌చాక్‌తో ఆంటోనీ మాస్టర్‌ రంగంలోకి దిగి చేసే ఫైట్‌ ఒళ్లుగగురుపొడుస్తుంది.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే:  రాబర్ట్‌, డానీ, జేవియర్‌ పాత్రల్లో షేన్‌ నిగమ్‌, ఆంటోనీ వర్ఘీస్‌, నీరజ్‌ మాధవ్‌ ఒదిగిపోయారు. మూడు పాత్రలకు సమానమైన ప్రాధాన్యం ఇచ్చాడు దర్శకుడు. వాళ్లు కూడా తమ పాత్రల్లో అంతే లీనమై నటించారు. ముఖ్యంగా యాక్షన్‌ ఎపిసోడ్స్‌లో ముగ్గురూ అదరగొట్టారు. ఒకరు బాక్సింగ్‌, మరొకరు కరాటే, ఇంకొకరు నాన్‌చాక్‌తో చేసిన విన్యాసాలు థియేటర్‌లో అయితే, విజిల్స్‌ వేయించి ఉంటాయి. (RDX Movie Review in telugu) అదే సమయంలో భావోద్వేగాలపరంగా మూడు పాత్రలకు మంచి మార్కులు పడతాయి. కథానాయికల పాత్రకు పెద్దగా ప్రాధాన్యం లేదు. మిగిలిన వాళ్లు పరిధి మేరకు నటించారు.

సాంకేతికంగా సినిమా ఎలా ఉంది: టెక్నికల్‌గా ‘RDX’ ఓ డిఫరెంట్‌ బెంచ్‌మార్క్‌ను సెట్‌ చేసిందని చెప్పవచ్చు. మరీ ముఖ్యంగా యాక్షన్‌ ఎపిసోడ్స్‌. కేజీయఫ్ స్టంట్ మాస్ట‌ర్స్ అన్బుఅరివు డిజైన్ చేసిన యాక్ష‌న్ కొరియోగ్ర‌ఫీ సినిమాకే హైలైట్‌. (RDX Movie Review in telugu) విరామానికి ముందు కార్నివాల్‌లో జరిగే యాక్ష‌న్ ఎపిసోడ్‌, విల‌న్‌ను ఫాలో అవుతూ త‌మ‌కు తెలియ‌కుండా అత‌డి ఉచ్చులో హీరోలు ఇద్ద‌రు చిక్కుకోవ‌డం, వారిని జేవియ‌ర్ రక్షించే ప్రీ క్లైమాక్స్ యాక్ష‌న్ సీక్వెన్స్‌తో పాటు చివరిలో ఆంటోనీ మాస్టర్‌ రంగంలోకి దిగి చేసే యాక్షన్‌ అదుర్స్‌.  ఇలాంటి సీన్స్‌ వెండితెరపై చూస్తే వచ్చే మజానే వేరు.

సంగీతం: శ్యామ్‌ సి.ఎస్‌. నేపథ్య సంగీతం సినిమాను నిలబెట్టింది. యాక్షన్‌ ఎపిసోడ్స్‌ ఎలివేట్‌ అవ్వడానికి అదే కారణం. ‘అఖండ’కు తమన్‌ ఏ స్థాయిలో అయితే నేపథ్య సంగీతం అందించాడో శ్యామ్‌ సి.ఎస్‌. ‘ఆర్‌డీఎక్స్‌’కు కూడా అదే స్థాయి సంగీతం అందించాడు.

సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ బై అలెక్స్‌ జె.పులికల్ టాప్‌ నాచ్‌. లైటింగ్‌ ఎఫెక్ట్‌, యాక్షన్‌ సీన్స్‌లో కెమెరా మూవీంగ్‌ చాలా డిఫరెంట్‌గా ఉంది. ముఖ్యంగా ఇంటర్వెల్‌ ముందు వచ్చే యాక్షన్‌ ఎపిసోడ్‌లో రాబర్ట్‌ను విలన్‌ గ్యాంగ్‌లో ఒకడు గుండెలపై తంతాడు. రాబర్ట్‌ ఎదురుగా ఉన్న కుర్చీలో పడి వెనక్కి అలా వెళ్తూ పడిపోయేడేమో అని ప్రేక్షకుడు అనుకుంటున్న సమయంలో అతని ఫేస్‌పై నుంచి డానీ, జేవియర్‌లను చూపించిన సీన్‌కు విజిల్స్‌ అంతే. మార్షల్‌ ఆర్ట్స్‌ నేపథ్యం కావడంతో పంచింగ్‌ షాట్స్‌ వచ్చినప్పుడు కెమెరా మూమెంట్స్‌కు వావ్‌ అనాల్సిందే!

ఎడిటింగ్‌: పెద్దగా కట్‌ చేయడానికి కూడా ఏమీ లేదు. యాక్షన్‌ సీన్స్‌కు ఎక్కువ సమయం కేటాయించారు. ఫ్లాష్‌ బ్యాక్‌ ఎపిసోడ్‌లో లవ్‌ట్రాక్‌ కాస్త స్లో అంతే. దర్శకుడు నహస్‌ హిదయత్‌ ఒక రొటీన్‌ యూత్‌ఫుల్‌ కథకు మార్షల్‌ ఆర్ట్స్‌ నేపథ్యం జోడించి సరికొత్తగా చూపించడంలో మంచి విజయం సాధించాడు. ముఖ్యంగా కథలో యాక్షన్‌ ఎపిసోడ్స్‌ కథలో అంతర్భాగంగా చూపించిన తీరు బాగుంది.

ఎవరు చూడొచ్చు..: రొటీన్‌కు భిన్నంగా ఒక యూత్‌ఫుల్‌ యాక్షన్‌ థ్రిల్లర్‌ చూడాలనుకునేవారిని RDX అస్సలు నిరాశపరచదు. కుటుంబంతో కలిసి కూడా నిరభ్యంతరంగా వీక్షించవచ్చు. థియేటర్‌లో విడుదలైన సినిమా కాబట్టి నిబంధనలకు లోబడే సెన్సార్‌ జరిగింది.
