Main Highlight of a Railway Station

The main highlight has to be when the train is arriving at the railway station. You will see people getting excited and waiting impatiently to board the train. They stand at the platform while waiting for the train to arrive.

On the other hand, the ones who have to deboard the train are eagerly standing at the gates of the train to get down quickly. There is a lot of commotion at this time as the ones who have to board and others who have to deboard, both do it at the same time.

There is no order to let the other one pass first. Thus, chaos and confusion take place at this time. People rush to their seats while the ones exiting want to get down as soon as possible.

There are many pickpockets as well that wait for this time to do their job. Often, people get hurt as well in all this commotion. However, despite all the commotion, it is wholesome to see friends and relatives receive and welcome their loved ones.

500 words Essay on The Topic of Railway station

I have been travelling by trains for as long as I can remember. The railway station has always been a part of my life, and I have many fond memories of the time I have spent there. This essay is about my personal experience at the railway station and how it has evolved over the years.

Arriving at the Station

I recall my first train journey as a child. My parents took me to the railway station, and I was fascinated by the bustling activity and the loud whistle of the approaching trains. I remember being awed by the size of the station and the various components that made it work, from the ticket counters to the platforms.

Waiting at the Station

As I grew older, I started travelling by train more frequently. I remember waiting at the station for hours, often with my family. The waiting rooms were not always comfortable, but I made the best of it, playing games with my siblings or chatting with my parents.

The Modern Railway Station

Over time, I have seen the railway station evolve and change with the times. The waiting rooms are now air-conditioned and have better seating arrangements. Automated ticketing systems have made buying tickets a breeze, and digital display screens provide real-time information about trains and their arrival times.

I have taken many train journeys in my life, but there is one that stands out in my memory - my first train journey alone. It was a nerve-wracking experience, but also a defining moment in my life that taught me the importance of independence and self-reliance.

I remember the day vividly. I was excited and nervous as I boarded the train, carrying my backpack filled with essentials. I had never travelled alone before, and I was a little apprehensive about the journey ahead.

As the train started moving, I began to relax. I was surrounded by unfamiliar faces, but I felt comfortable in my solitude. I took in the scenery outside, marvelling at the beauty of the countryside as we travelled.

During the journey, I struck up a conversation with a fellow passenger. She was a friendly woman who was travelling to visit her family. We talked about our experiences, and I was surprised to find that we had many things in common. We laughed and shared stories, and before I knew it, the journey was over, and we were saying our goodbyes at the station.

The train finally arrived at my destination, and I felt a sense of pride as I stepped off the train. I had travelled alone and had made a new friend. I had grown as a person, and the experience had given me the confidence to take on new challenges in life.

Looking back, that train journey remains one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It taught me that life is about taking chances and stepping outside of our comfort zones. It also taught me the importance of human connections and the power of kindness. I carry these lessons with me to this day, and I am grateful for that first train journey alone.

Set 1: Essay On Visit to a Railway Station

A railway station is one of the busiest places in the city ” town. Whether it is night or day, it does not know of any est. There is hustle and bustle all the time at railway station. People are seen boarding the train and getting down of them.

Then the cry of the coolies, passengers and hawkers makes the scene noisy. Last Sunday, I went to New Delhi Railway Station to receive my sister. She was coming from Lucknow. We reached the station at 9 p.m. Outside the station there was great rush of taxis, cars and scooters. Passengers were rushing here and there with their luggage. Many porters were there waiting for the passengers to carry their luggage.

At the ticket windows, people were waiting in the queues to buy the tickets. Many people were there who had come to receive or see off their relations. I went to buy a platform ticket. There was a big crowd of people. There were a number of stalls. Some were selling tea, snacks, magazines books, toys, etc.

The train arrived, the passengers rushed at it. There was a great confusion. My sister got down quickly. We hired a taxi and returned home.

Set 2: Essay On Visit to a Railway Station

My cousin was to arrive from Delhi. My father sent me to the station to receive him. I bought a platform ticket and entered the station.

There were fifteen minutes left for the arrival of the train. The platform was crowded with people. Very few people were actual travellers. Some, like me, had come to receive their relations and others had come to see someone off. People kept their luggage ready. Porters in their uniforms got ready to carry the luggage and load it into the train. There were bookstalls from where people bought books, newspapers and magazines. Some people were busy watching television.

Next the sound of a whistle was heard. The train arrived. There was a scramble of people towards the train. They would not allow the passengers to alight. They tried to rush into the train. The hawkers and vendors became active. They went up and down the platform shouting their wares. They sold tea, cold drinks and eatables. The travellers in the train looked very tired. I searched all over the train for my cousin. I could not find him. Perhaps I had missed him in all that crowd and confusion.

wondered what had happened to him. Soon it was time for the train to leave. The guard blew the whistle and the train proceeded on its journey. The platform which was humming with life and activity became quiet and deserted. There | found my cousin standing at the side of the platform.

Thad passed my time very pleasantly by watching the scene at our railway station. A railway station is a place where one can always find much noise and activity. We are lucky to have trains to travel by. We pity our forefathers who had to travel very slowly by bullock cart. We must thank science for our railways.

Set 3: Essay On Visit to a Railway Station

A railway station is a very busy and noisy place where travellers are either entering or leaving the station. This I found out when our teacher made all the necessary arrangements for our class to take a trip to the Howrah station.

At the entrance we were met by Mr D’Cruz, who was the guard of the Kalka Mail. He was off duty, so he was happy to be our guide. He took us to the platform and it was interesting to see hundreds of passengers waiting eagerly for their train to arrive. Some were sitting on the benches reading the newspapers, sipping a cup of tea or a cold drink while others were pacing up and down the platform. Vendors were busy selling their goods and porters in red shirts sat in a line waiting to help the passengers load or unload their luggage from the train.

On one platform a train, the Coromandal, steamed in and then there was a lot of noise and confusion. People were pushing their way out of the train, trying to get quickly to the taxi stand. Porters went rushing into the compartments trying to help passengers carry their luggage.

Mr D’Cruz then took us to a quieter part of the station and showed us the various railway officials’ offices, the restroom, the restaurant, snack bar, book stalls and curio shops.

Then Mr D’Cruz gave us all a big surprise. He took us to a platform which was almost deserted. Only a few people were moving around. Then we saw an engine which looked new and had the number 1835 printed on a brass plate. There were three bogies attached to it and Mr D’Cruz informed us that this was one of the trains used when the British were in India.

Our tour of the station ended with a cold drink and a packet of wafers given generously by Mr D’Cruz.

English Essay on “A Visit to the Railway Station” English Essay-Paragraph-Speech for Class 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 CBSE Students and competitive Examination.

A Visit to the Railway Station

When you think of the railway station, what comes to your mind? The sounds of the engines the cries of the hawkers or the bustle of the people’s feet? Yesterday, I had an opportunity to visit the railway station to receive a guest. As soon as I entered the main gate, a deluge of people and suitcases pushed me out again. It tried again but without success. I just could not pass the mass of humanity. So, I decided to enter through one of the other gates. The yelling of hawkers, the screaming of complaining children, the shuffling of thousands of feet; a multitude of noises invaded my ears from that platform. The loudspeaker screeched out announcement after announcement. The messages, however, were totally unintelligible and I thought of the fact that millions of poor souls had probably missed their trains because of this. I was roughly pulled and pushed around by coolies and strangers, eager to catch their trains… and their customers! And then the train arrived. The blast of hot air made everyone stand back except for the coolies. As the coolies entered the train, they reminded me of a pack of rats entering a drain. They spread out everywhere, badgering people to accept their service. I like many other people, could not reach my guest. Finally, I managed to find him and we weaved our was in and out of the crowd till we exited through the main gate.

A visit to a railway station

On 10 May 2018 I had my first journey through rail. The word rail is also called as train. We prepared in advanve for this journey. My father booked the tickets a month ago. When our seats were reserved and our trip was confirmed we started shopping for the trip. We bought dresses, food items, necessary things and packed for our trip.

With tickets and newly bought things we were prepared for the trip in one week advance. Next, we informed my grandparents that we are coming to Lucknow for the trip. We packed our bags two days before the trip and on the day of the trip reached the railway station via auto rickshaw.

We reached platform no 2 where our train from Delhi to Lucknow was supposed  to arrive. We reached their half an hour early. As soon as the train arrived, we checked our name in the list displayed outside the train. We reconfirmed our seats and reservation and went inside the train.

Inside the train, we sat on our seats and waited for train to move. Our seats were together we got birth lower, upper and middle. Our seats numbers were 12, 13, 14. As soon as the train starts moving we started looking outside thet train and enjoying our trip.

Essay on Railway Station 500 Words in English

Below we have provided Railway Station Essay in English, suitable for class 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Railway termini are our gates to the glorious and the unknown. Through them, we pass out into adventure and sunshine, to them, alas! We return. – E. M. Forster

A railway station is a facility on a railway track or line where trains stop to load and unload passengers or freight or both. Railway stations can be above ground, underground or elevated. The world’s oldest railway station is The Mount on the Oyestermouth Railway in Wales, United Kingdom. It first began its services in the year 1807. At that time, the trains were pulled by animals like horses and were not complete locomotives.

The Indian Railways is the fourth largest railways network in the world and is run by the government. It is one of the world’s busiest railway network and is humongous in its scale, size and operations. It is also one of the world’s cheapest long-distance transportation mechanism. India’s first train ran in Madras in the year 1837, and the Indian Railways came into existence in April, in the year 1853. The Indian railway’s transport around 8.1 billion people per year, which is more than the entire population of the world.

A Typical Day at the Railway Station

Let us now describe what a typical day at the railway station looks like. As soon as we reach the premises of the train station, we find it to be overly crowded with taxis, buses, autos, cars and rickshaws. Some of them have people who are to be dropped at the station, while many others are seen waiting for passengers to hop in and reach their destinations. Coolies or porters eye you from the time your vehicle crosses the barrier and come running to it to take your luggage.

Noises of quarrelling and bargaining can be continuously heard with and around them. There are numerous brick and mortar shops of books, newspapers , food items, etc. and several canteens can also be found. Street vendors or hawkers are also present on various spots who speak loudly or even shout to gain the attention of the local public. They keep roaming from one place to the other, along with the items that they are selling. There are various facilities available on the railway station for the passengers, including waiting rooms as well as ticketing booths and restrooms.

Many can be seen waiting at the platform, sitting on cemented benches, or even on their own suitcases. Some even spread a bed sheet or a mat on the floor and rest there while waiting for their train. Railway stations also serve as a sleeping place for many poor people. A lot of times, addicts can also be found lurking in shady areas like train station bridges, empty tracks and isolated corners. The main highlight of a railway station is when a train approaches it.

People suddenly get over-excited. The ones who have to board, stand at the platform waiting, while at the same time, those who have to deboard are eager to get down in haste. None of them wants the other one to pass first, and thus, a scene of utter chaos and madness takes place. People boarding are in a rush to get to their seats, while those who have just stepped down the train want to make it to the exit as soon as possible.

A railway station is an interesting place. It is a human museum or a fair of human faces. Yesterday, I went to the Railway Station to see off my friend. We reached there half an hour earlier than the time arrival of the train. There were only a few persons in a queue before the booking office window. We bought tickets and went to the platform. There was a big crowd of people. The coolies were carrying luggage from one platform to another. Some passengers were looking in the direction of the incoming train.

All the waiting rooms were overcrowded. There were some passengers in the refreshment room. There was a great rush at the tea stalls at the refreshment the train reached in then everybody was hurrying. People were trying to get good capacity. People threw language through the windows. There was a great rush in and out. The hawkers were crying the names of their wares at the top of their voices. Watermen were supplying water to thirsty passengers. Porters were loading and unloading parcels from out of the parcel van. The whole station staff was busy.

Luckily, my friend got a comfortable seat in the second-class compartment. The guard whistled and waved the green flag. The train moved on. People on the platform left the place one by one. Now the noise and uproar were gone. I also took my way home. The platform looked like a deserted place. All its hustle and bustle was over in a few minutes.

The villagers were sitting on the floor or on their boxes or trunks. Some gentlemen were walking up and down the platform. Every now and then they were looking in the direction of the train. When the distant signal became yellow, they felt happy. They knew that the train would shortly arrive. As soon as they caught sight of the engine, they got ready. All stood up. There was a movement on the platform. Some people put their bundles on their heads. Others held them under their pits. Some engaged coolie for their luggage. When the train arrived, all got ready. All were anxious to get seats. The passengers who wished to get down opened the doors. The other people who were eager to get into the compartment, tried to get in. there was a great tussle between them. After a little discussion, the in-going passengers made way for the outgoing passengers. There were seats enough for only a few passengers and not for all. Those who got in got seats or remained standing. Others were running up and down the platform to find room for themselves. When they failed to get a room in the compartments, they caught hold of the handles outside some carriages. They stood on the footboards.

Members of the station staff looked busy with their duties. The ticket collector was at the gate. He collected tickets to drink. The hawkers went up and down with their wares. All were busy. After a few minutes, the engine gave a long whistle and the train left the platform.

People were buying their tickets one by one. The coolies were busy. They were carrying the luggage of the people to the platform or from the platform to outside. My father bought a platform ticket for me. He hired a coolie to carry our luggage. We reached the platform from where the train was to depart.

The railway platform was full of people. Rich and poor, young and old, women and children were seen thereof all hues. Everyone was waiting for the train to come. The railway stalls were doing brisk business. Cold – drinks, tea, coffee, snacks, etc. were available everywhere. The coolies were carrying huge luggage of the passengers. Some were looking for the tickets. the police personnel was seen quite on alert. Frequently there were announcements about the timings of the trains, incoming and outgoing, there was high danger of luggage’s being taken away or pockets being picked. Everybody stood guard to their belongings. Everybody was restless but some had occupied benches and places and were sleeping comfortably evidently waiting for the late trains. There were some scenes of painful partings of parents seeing off their children going for distant destinations and some eager to met their nears and dears arriving after a long time. The waiting at the Railway Station seemed to pass off very fast while looking at all these things.

Soon there was a signal of the arrival of the train. There was a lot of commotion. Everybody began to move, catch hold of his luggage and making way towards their respective compartments. Some began to negotiate with the  TTE’s to confirm their unconfirmed seats. Most of them seemed dejected. In no, the whole crowd seemed to dwindle away leaving the whole platform almost deserted. I said goodbye to my father and sister and the train moved. Everyone around was seen waving hands for their departing nears and dears. It was really a sight to see. I also came out and headed towards my home.

A Scene at a Railway Platform

A railway station is a very busy place. Big railway stations numerous trains continue coming and going day and night. The real charm of the railway station can be enjoyed by standing at one of the platforms.

Last Sunday, I had to go to Bareilly. I went to the local railway 1 station at about 8.00 a.m. I bought a ticket at the booking window and entered platform No.1 from where the train was scheduled to go.

I learned that the train was late by one hour. I had come in a hurry and hadn’t taken my breakfast. So, I took my breakfast there at the platform.

I sat on a bench and began to look idly here and there to kill time. I saw coolies rushing from one platform to the other. They had heavy loads of luggage on their heads.

The vendors were crying for their wares. They were selling all kinds of eatables. Fast food in particular was in great demand. Most of the people were drinking tea. A few were having cold drinks.

I found some people sitting on the benches and just staring in different directions like me. Some passengers who were waiting for one or the other train were reading newspapers or magazines. Some were chatting or discussing politics. Some were blaming the government for various social and economic ailments.

I was amused at the sight of incoming and outgoing trains at various platforms. The signaling and interlocking system particularly impressed me.

As the train came, I moved towards it and boarded it. Soon the signal was down. The guard waved the green flag and the train steamed out.

People who wish to move from one part of the platform to another in a hurry find it very difficult to negotiate through the thick crowd of people. There are many people standing in a queue in front of the drinking water taps.

There are many vendors on the platform. They sell a variety of things like food, tea, coffee, fruits, soft drinks, decorative items and fancy goods. They shout at the top of their voices to attract customers. There are many bookstalls in the railway station. Passengers who like to read come here and buy books to read on the train.

Many porters can be seen on the platform. They wear red coloured dresses. They carry the luggage of the people on their heads from one platform to another and from train to their vehicles outside the railway Station

Loudspeakers inside the railway station announce the arrival and the departure of trains. They inform the waiting passengers about the number of the platform on which the trains would come.

A part of the railway station consists of the booking offices. People queue up in front of the booking windows to buy tickets and to get the reservation done. There are also many information counters from where the information about the trains can be obtained

As the trains come on to the platform, there is a great hustle and bustle everywhere. People rush to get inside their compartments. They push and jostle each other. Many times small quarrels erupt between people. Things settle down when the train moves out of the platform. Friends and relatives wave their near and dear ones goodbye.

This scene repeats itself every time a train comes and goes. Life inside and outside the railway station is constantly on the move.

Essay 3 (500 – 600 Words) – Railway station: Equipped with Solar Power and Artificial Intelligence

A railway station is a place where different trains arrive and depart and so the passengers and goods. The journey of a passenger starts from a railway station and also ends on the railway station, thus station becoming mandatory for traveling with trains. There are many tracks which are the routes to different trains. The station is made at a little elevation with the tracks.

Essential Amenities at the Railway Stations

The place is equipped up with several amenities like food and tea stalls, toilets, ticket counters, etc. This proves to be beneficial facilities to the people waiting or arriving over there during the halts. Many of the passengers board their respective trains from here to reach their destination. Overall this place is full of hustle and bustle all around. The scenario is also a pleasing one. People from different regions can be seen here. There is also a waiting room for different classes on many of the railway stations. People are busy with their heavy goods and luggage, heading towards the platform. Security services along with railway police are also there to check the criminal activities.

Scenario of the Railway Station

Since I never had been to travel by train, therefore it’s my first experience, traveling to Lucknow. When we reached our respective railway station, I saw a lot of vehicles like two and four-wheelers, auto-rickshaw parked outside the station. The cab, auto, and rickshaw pullers were busy carrying and picking up the passengers.

We also came through a number of beggars sitting outside the station and begging. As our tickets were already booked so we did not step to the ticket window. But I would like to mention that as soon as one enters the station, there is a ticket window where people are in a queue trying to get the tickets for their different designations. There were men, women, and children all around. Almost all age groups people can be found out there. The places on the railway station meant to sit were fully occupied. Some passengers were lying down whereas some were sitting on the floor itself.

Vendors – There were many vendors selling different small things along with several fruits and food items. They were shouting and selling, so that they may be able to sell a major part of their stock.

Platform Scene – As soon as we entered the platform area, there was a lot of rush all around, as one of the trains has arrived. Some passengers were in hurry to board the train and some were rushing outside to board for taxi and auto-rickshaw. There were porters helping the passengers to lift up the luggage.

Our train arrived on its respective platform; we managed to get inside the train and searched for our seats. Once we located the same, we got seated over there and it was time to leave the station. But it was my first and one of the beautiful experiences.

Privatization of Railways either Good or Bad

  • The privatization of railways will provide the railway to the private companies, as a result of their proper work and orientation, the infrastructure and other services will be improved.
  • The station will be prone to better cleanliness.
  • Passengers will be provided with extra facilities and security.
  • As the infrastructure will be improved, it will enable the trains to arrive on time.

Disadvantages

  • After privatization, government jobs in railways will come to an end, as private parties believe in making more money by employing lesser people.
  • The increased fare would be difficult for a common man and poor man to bear.
  • The government trains might delays for longer periods because private trains would get signals earlier .

Railway Stations are Now Fully Electrified by Utilizing Solar Power

Currently, more than 900 railway stations across the country have been fully electrified. The same is done by using solar power. It is a successful step towards sustainability too and will surely help in meeting goal 9 of the Sustainable Development Goal. The carbon footprint will be decreased by the same. The station of Varanasi and Delhi are examples of these innovations.

The Introduction of Captain Arjun Robot on Railway Station – Feature of Artificial Intelligence

This has been launched by the RPF (Railway Protection Force), for the purpose of security and scrutiny. It will also be involved in checking the passengers to board the trains, and at the same time monitor the terrorist activities too.

It was my first experience traveling via train but was a beautiful one. The guard blew the whistle and the train moved on leaving the station away. It can be said that railway stations are important to place where different activities are performed on daily basis. People make themselves comfortable during travel due to these stations.

Descriptive writing - The train station

Authors Avatar

Tra i n Station

Clunking and Screeching, the frozen engine kicked into motion, pushing the sleek, modern train down the beaten, old track and into the black. Even after the train had left, the sound of the pulsing locomotives pounded through the night, until the deep booms of its powerful thrusts quietened down to gentle beats in the heart of the night.

Mist swirled gently across the now empty track, covering in the wispy blanket. The track was now hidden beneath a mysterious layer, like a deep secret or a myth. If anyone would’ve been there to see it, they would’ve have questioned whether the track was really there or not, for the mist kept the track, the mist controlled the track. The frozen mist began to spread, billowing up onto the platform, flooding it, burying it. The mist just grew and grew until it had covered the platform too and after it had finally engulfed the entire station it began to rise. Oh how the mist rose, reaching up into the sky and putting out the stars. After the mist was done, only the silver glow of the moon feebly peered through the mess.

Join now!

Nothing could be seen, nothing could be heard. There was nothing, nothing at all. The mist had done its job; it had hidden this place from sight. But the mist did not know. No, it didn’t know that there was another. There was something moving in the dark, there was someone moving in the dark. But the mist didn’t know, so it just lay there, devouring everything in sight.

This is a preview of the whole essay

Deep in the darkness, a figure moved, a lone figure travelling through a hidden land. The wispy shadow crept silently out of the night and stood there, waiting, waiting. Silence. Chug Chug Chug Chug, Chu-Chug Chu-Chug Chu-Chug Chu-Chug Chu-Chug. It was was coming. Chu-Chug Chu-Chug Chu-Chug Chu-Chug Chu-Chug. Closer and closer. Faster and faster. Chu-Chug Chu-Chug Chu-Chug Chu-Chug Chu-Chug. The light tore through the blanket, a knife splitting the fibres of the mist. The train had arrived, and had cleared the way. The mist fled in its presence, spiralling away from its gleaming structure, away from the station, away from the figure and off into the night.

Now that the air was clear, time started to flow again, the figure rose and strutted towards the train, into the light and disappeared inside.

A railway station is a place where a train comes, takes passenger, down passengers. The railway station is an extremely busy spot in every city. There are railways stations in every city. In good stations, there are good facilities. Lots of people gather in a station. A huge amount of vehicles stay parked outside.

People are really busy there. You know the train is really good transport for a long journey and people prefer to journey by train. A railway station has few platforms where people wait for their expected trains. The railway station has so many shops and hawkers, who sell their product to the people who arrive there.

A Railway Station – Short Essay, Paragraph: 2 (200 Words)

A railway station is full of gathering and lots of people. I never visited a railway station before, but a few days earlier I got that experience. And I will share it here today. I always heard lots of things regarding railway station and I wanted to see all these things in my own eyes and that’s why I planned to visit my nearest station with few of my friends.

One of my friends Sahil informed me that one of his uncles is coming from Delhi and we need to pick him up from our station. I agreed because I was looking for the chance to go there. In the day, we went there at 10 AM and his train arrival time was 10.30 AM, we thought to be there a few minutes ago so that you can see the sight. But the train was more one hour late, that made us really bored.

But the time we were there, I really enjoyed the whole environment. Everyone is super busy in a railway station. People are busy with their journey, with their business and busy with their unique lifestyle. I found lots of homeless people are living on the side of the station and some of them are trying to sell cheap stuff to the people who are arriving there.

A Railway Station – Long Essay: 3 (500 Words)

Introduction : A railway station is a place where a train stop and people get down. I have an awesome experience with our nearest railway station in Sylhet. This place is full of several types of people. You will see so many various things there. One of my cousins was coming from Dhaka and I went to the station at 10 AM. His train arrival time was 10.15 AM.

But I found that there are one hour late and I have to wait. I didn’t have any choice and that’s why I thought to roam around and see the whole station. I parked my car outside of the station, where people park their car. I tried to understand the circumstance.

A Railway Station : Before coming to my cousin, there were three trains came with a huge amount of passengers. Lots of people get down and lots of people boarded for their journey. There was too much gathering. No space for walking. A huge number of people travels by train without a ticket and there standing ticket also available for people.

People don’t care about law and rules at all. But I found a few strict police also who were doing their duty properly. When a train arrives, lots of coolies come to collect your baggage. It’s a very common scene in every railway station in the world. Coolies are really hardworking; they carry huge bags that I can’t even imagine.

And they don’t ask for any specific amount of money, people give them with their wish. Coolies are not good every time. Sometimes they make a quarrel with normal passengers. Crime ratio in a railway station is a little bit high, I think. I found so many people who are lying in the platform and in the over the bridge, who are maybe addicted to weed.

They don’t look alike homeless. There are lots of small shops and tea stalls there. People buy their desire for traveling food from these shops. I went to a tea stall and drink a cup of tea. The tea was really amazing. These shops are really busy before a train arrives.

And too much calm in the time when the train left the station. After waiting 1 hour and 20 minute my expected train came and I was standing near the compartment where my brother was. We found a coolie who assisted us to carry our bag to the car.

Conclusion : And then we left the station. I was very happy to see my brother after a long time. And I was a really good experience of the railway’s station, I learned so many things. I think everyone should visit the railway station and enjoy the situation. I wish to travel by train, I never been on a train. I wish that I will do that very soon.

Descriptive Essay Topic – A Visit To A Bus Station

A Visit To A Bus Station. You can find Previous Year Descriptive Essay Topics asked in ICSE board exams.

Introduction: Need to undertake a bus journey

  • The scene at the bus stand
  • An interesting incident
  • Settled down for the journey

Conclusion: Resolved never to travel long distance by bus

I normally detest travelling by bus not because it is uncomfortable, but because it gives me a feeling of claustrophobia. However, last month I had to go through this ordeal, on being summoned by my uncle to Delhi. The visit was in connection with my long pending Visa application. Unable to get a train ticket, I was left with no other alternative, but to travel by bus.

Reaching the bus station, I saw a huge queue at the ticket counter. Nestling my briefcase between my legs, I also stood in the queue. The station was milling with people. Some were sitting on benches, on the floor, while still others lay asleep with bags under their head, prepared for an eternal wait. An occasional cow or dog would make a detour of the place, in search of eatables thrown by passengers. They were also bold enough to nibble at the bags. I hated myself to be amidst this squalor. I nudged along in the queue which was advancing at a snail’s pace. There was an occasional fray of temper, as people tried to jump the queue, which made the nudging and jostling more unpleasant.

Just then a person standing a little distance from me cried out that his pocket had been picked. He immediately collared the person pushing him, accusing him of the offence. I instinctively felt for my purse and was relieved to find it intact. By now the scuffle had turned to a free for all, with allegations and counter allegations. Fortunately a beat constable seeing the commotion arrived on the scene and took both the warring parties aside. On checking the person of the accused, the offending purse was found. While the public wanted to teach the pickpocket a lesson, the constable handled the situation with tact and led the culprit away in handcuffs.

As the commotion subsided, I once again queued up for the ticket. Clutching the ticket in my hand I looked around for a place to rest myself. Seeing none, I placed my briefcase near a tea stall and sipped the hot tea waiting for the bus to arrive. I felt relieved after the nerve wrecking experience which I had just gone through.

As soon as the bus arrived people rushed toward it. I also collected my wits and scrambled towards it. After a lot of pushing and jostling, I found myself in the bus. Exhausted, I thankfully sat on the first vacant seat which came my way. After about half an hour, the bus finally pulled out of the station. While dozing off to sleep I made a mental note of never undertaking a long journey by bus, which left one weary even before the journey begins.
