A home is a place that gives comfort to everyone. It is because a home is filled with love and life. Much like every lucky person, I also have a home and a loving family. Through My Home Essay, I will take you through what my home is like and how much it means to me.

A Place I Call Home

My home is situated in the city. It is not too big nor too small, just the perfect size. My family lives in the home. It comprises of my father, mother, sister and grandparents. We live in our ancestral home so my home is very vintage.

It is very old but remains to be super strong. There are six rooms in my home. Each family member has a unique room which they have decorated as per their liking. For instance, my elder sister is a big fan of music, so her walls are filled with posters of musicians like BTS, RM, and more.

Our drawing room is a large one with a high ceiling. We still use the vintage sofa set which my grandmother got as a wedding gift. Similarly, there is a vintage TV and radio which she uses till date.

Adjoining the drawing room is my bedroom. It is my favourite room because it contains everything that I love. I have a pet guinea pig which lives in a cage in my room. We also have a storeroom which is filled with things we don’t use but also cannot discard.

Our lawn in front of the house has a little garden. In that garden , my mother is growing her own kitchen garden. She is passionate about it and brings different seeds every month to grow them out and use them in our food.

The fondest memories I have in a place is my terrace. Our terrace is huge with many plants. I remember all the good times we have spent there as a family. Moreover, we play there a lot when my cousins come over. Thus, every nook and corner of my home is special to me.

Appreciation Towards My Home

I know a lot of people who do not have homes or not as big as mine. It makes me more grateful and appreciates my home more. Not everyone gets the fortune to have a good home and a loving family, but luckily, I have been blessed with both.

I am thankful for my home because when I grow up, I can look back at the wonderful memories I made here. The walk down the memory lane will be a sweet one because of the safety and security my home has given me. It is indeed an ideal home.

He nodded courteously, said “Excuse me,” and continued back down the hall to the addition, leaving a trail of white dust behind him.

“Jagatishwaran ” by Chaya Bhuvanswar

Sometimes, home cannot be found in the house or the body. This narrator is confined to his room  — believed to be suffering from an unnamed mental illness by his family. But he still strives to find moments of peace in a life that isn’t his own. 

I shelter myself from the house with second-hand screens, four of them, made of wood that looks better for the dust on it, less costly and more secure. I write after the others have gone to bed, hiding my diaries and papers during daylight hours. Sometimes their faces flash by me in the darkness, as if they were peering in rudely through a space between the screens. Even the trees in the garden move away from the house, as if in disgust.

• Lying in our beds, we can watch them with the help of remote control. Although it is a very small house, yet I get all the comforts of life in it.

Introduction

This poem talks about the comfort and pleasure of home. As humble as it may be, there is no place like home. It soothes our heart and brings us comfort. No matter how many beautiful places we roam, they will never measure up to home. The poem is divided into five stanzas. The rhyme scheme of each stanza is  aabbcc.

The poet says that although  we may roam  palaces and enjoy many different kinds of pleasure,  there’s no place like home , even if it is humble.  A charm from the sky , or the heavens, seem to bless us at home, making it holy. Even if we seek this feeling through the world, we can never find it elsewhere. The poet exclaims about his home, his  sweet home . He says that  there’s no place like home .

The poet says that when one is away from home, splendid things dazzle us but it is in vain, or of no use. He just wants his  lowly thatched cottage again  because there is no place more comfortable than home. He wants the birds that sing happily and come at his call at home, and  the peace of mind  he finds there that is  dearer than all  things. He again exclaims about his  sweet home  and says that  there’s no place like home.

When the poet gazes at the moon while going through some wild places, he feels that his mother  thinks of her child , or him, as she looks at that very same moon from their  own cottage door  through the woodbine (the common honeysuckle plant). But since the poet is away from home, the fragrance of the woodbine by his cottage door cannot cheer him anymore. He sighs for his  sweet home  in longing and says that  there’s no place like home .

The poet tells us how sweet it is to feel  a fond father’s smile , and have  the caress of a mother   to soothe  and charm you. He says that others may find delight and pleasures while roaming new places, but he desires  the pleasures of home.  He exclaims about his  sweet home  once again, and says that  there’s no place like home.

The poet addresses his home and says that he will return to it,  overburdened with care , or full of burdens and worries. He will find peace in his heart at home. He will not go away from the cottage that is his home again. He says that although it is humble,  there’s no place like home.  He ends the poem by exclaiming about his  sweet home  and saying there’s no place like home.

There is no place like home. Nothing can ever compare to the comfort and pleasure it brings. So, no matter how far we go, our greatest comfort will always be home.

My home is situated in the suburb of Cochin, a metro city in Kerala. A very fast moving place, yet I love the place. I live in an apartment and it is not a very large one. We live on the second floor. Our home is small, yet it has all the joy and happiness that I could ever dream of. My father works as a banker and my mother does writing. I have a little sister and we make our home.

My grandparents live close by, but not together with us. We just have a two bedroom apartment, with wonderful balconies and a good kitchen, where my mom always cooks great delicious food. In one of the rooms, myself and my sister share. We study and play in that room.

The other room, my parents use. The dinning is along with living room and we have separated it with an arch. The balconies are not very large, but they face the main roads, and so it is really very nice to stand out in evenings, and enjoy the nature. We have our car parking below and a small park where we could play in the evenings.

I love my home very much. There is so much of fun and joy at my home. Though we fight for small things, my parents make us realize about all the good things in life and we try understanding them. We love our home very much. Being in the city, we also enjoy weekends going out and sometimes mom trying new recipes.

Our home is sweet and as we see it, it is really “Home sweet Home”. As the saying goes “A house is built by hands, but a home is built by hearts”, our home is also built by hearts. A warm, welcoming and loving place is what my home is.

Our house is located in a very friendly and nice locality. There is a small market near my house from where my father brings fruits and vegetables every morning. We also have very good neighbours. They are kind and generous people who are ready to help at any time. I love my new house and all its beautiful features. I enjoy spending time in my house more than anywhere else.

Home Sweet Home: An Award-Winning Animated Film

Home Sweet Home is an award-winning short animated high-definition film that was released on December 27, 2014. It is about a house that breaks free from its local foundations and embarks on an exciting journey. The film was directed by the talented Pierre Clenet, Alejandro Diaz, Stephane Paccolat, and Romain Mazevet. It was created in 2013 during the final year of study at Supinfocom Arles School of Digital Making. The film is approximately ten minutes long, and it took a year to create this 3D film. The film follows the adventures of a house on a journey as they travel across the country, while also highlighting the characters' emotions (Lindenberger, 2014).

The Film's Impact and Success

Biggest festivals in the world started to screen this movie. In 2014, Supinfocom animation had entertained and charmed audiences wherever it played. Created with a stunning 3D visual style and a very capturing narrative, the film is so captivating to the audiences. The Supinfocom brand produces an animation of the highest quality and the directors just created the most impressive short film so far. The synopsis is the story of a house which escapes from its local foundations and begins an epic journey. The film tackles the themes of death, friendship, and traveling in its 10 minutes duration.\n Home Sweet Home puts together the elements of a road trip. This movie is set in a universe where human beings are not seen or perhaps they do not exist (Lindenberger, 2014). The film team does a marvelous job of connecting emotion and personality to their four characters. It brings out the concept of the American housing crisis thus Home Sweet Home is a short movie that the whole family could enjoy. Because the main characters are houses and non-existent dialogue, the audience sticks to visual storytelling as opposed to exposition and thus this cuts the move down into visuals, music, and sound. The end of the film shows that the journey can become one of survival and that one can lose our loved ones but still just carry on with their memories.

The Stunning Visuals and Emotional Journey

The storyline has some touching moments and amazingly well-rounded characters. The story remains well thought of, and its actions so pleasant enabling one to see how the characters have been developed. The rendering and texturing are so phenomenal and pleasing (Lindenberger, 2014). The personality of the character is well suited, and the scenery strikingly well lit. This story revolves around the friendship between three friends which leads to the epic journey. Successfully portrayed imagery makes it easy for everyone to understand. Overall it was thrilling and amazing to watch this film, and it is recommended to others to watch too. This movie is very engaging and heart-warming. Within the 10 minutes of this film, it covers successfully, and I loved it.

In Conclusion: A Captivating Film with Strengths and Weaknesses

In conclusion, Home Sweet Home is a well animated short film that calls out to the solitude to embrace that arises from traveling far away from home and the sacrifices and experiences that life brings on our doorstep. This film development style wins at the end of the day. The comedy brought out in this movie made it just more fantastic giving a chance for the viewer to feel different emotions. However, this film has its weaknesses like the limited amount of detail of the houses, and the story did not come out as I expected to make it confusing.

Home sweet home.

A house escapes from its suburban foundations and sets off on an epic journey.

Home Sweet Home indulges the power that animated films can have on us. Created by a team of 4 student animators from France; Stephane Paccolat, Alejandro Diaz, Pierre Clenet and Romain Mazevet, the film mesmerizes us with simply outstanding imagery.

The initial impulse for the movie was to tell a story about friendship and life in general. For us it felt right that a road­movie structure, even with a short­movie medium, was ideal to tell such a story.

Set in a sort of dystopian world, where only buildings seem to have survived and gained life, the film tells the story of a house detaching from its foundation to go out and explore the world, making new friends on its way. The story may sound completely joyous but does hold a touch of darkness that should allude the adult viewers, while still remaining lively for the children. We can’t help of think of the movie ‘Up’ while watching this.

The greatest challenge was the handfull of sceneries and stories we a had to fit in the structure, without making it too long because we couldn’t afford it and without making it too short because it would have felt too dull. Those choices had of course an impact on the whole production process (faster editing, shorter animations) as well as on the story itself (more efficient and short story arcs, less characters).

While the story manages to capture our hearts, it’s our eyes that get the biggest treat out of this film. With an incredibly polished animated style that can smoothly compete with our favorite animated features.

We went also for an illustrativ style to make efficent use of Romain and Alejandro’s painting skills and to make sure the movie would remain beautiful even with the fast aging process of CG movies. Thus, the FX had to match with this illustrativ style: not be too realistic but esthetic instead, a formidable challenge for Pierre Clenet.
