Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is known for its continuous efforts to pave the way for leading a brighter future for families in need. Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has built or repaired more than one million houses in nearly one hundred countries, providing simple, decent, and affordable shelter for more than five million people worldwide. Located in beautiful Buena Vista, Colorado, Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity was established in 2000 and has built twenty-five homes and helped numerous individuals obtain affordable housing.

One of Colorado’s most desirable summer locations, Buena Vista, is surrounded by an abundance of 14,000ft peaks and is located on the banks of the Arkansas River, known by many as the “Whitewater Capital of the World”. A destination for visitors, interns will wake up every day to the beauty of the Arkansas Valley. This is a great opportunity to experience the best of what Colorado has to offer and learn valuable life lessons and occupational skills all while helping to transform a family’s life forever. Position Title :

Public Relations and Marketing Intern

Overall Nature and Scope of Position :

The student intern will be a member of the CCHfH staff and will work directly with all staff and volunteers. They will work in the community and share in the excitement of our summer-building activities. The intern will also act as a representative for CCHfH to donors, volunteers, and the community. CCHfH is a small primarily volunteer-based organization providing the intern with the opportunity to be creative, and successful, and gain on-the-job training that will assist them in their future career search.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee summer outreach events and media relations
  • Assist with the creation of annual newsletters
  • Develop a social media campaign for CCHfH
  • Help to develop a market analysis and marketing plan
  • Assist with planning for and implementing fundraising campaigns
  • Design and conduct a fundraising event

Supervision and Work Relationships:

The student intern works with all CCHfH staff members and volunteers. The position has extensive contact with the public and all volunteers who work with Habitat for Humanity.

Internship Requirements:

  • Applicants must be highly organized, detail-oriented with exceptional writing and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience writing or creating marketing plans
  • Proficient with Microsoft products and familiar with Adobe Suite
  • Outgoing personality, comfortable representing CCHfH in the community
  • Ability to meet daily and weekly deadlines
  • Successfully pass a background investigation to perform duties as required
  • Available during the summer build season: late May through early August ( Minimum 10-12 Weeks )

Position Overview: Queenside Ventures is seeking a Public Relations Intern to join our team and assist in elevating the company’s visibility through strategic media coverage and press relations. The PR Intern will work directly with the President & CEO, collaborating to secure opportunities for media appearances, podcast features, and written press coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the President & CEO to develop and execute a comprehensive PR strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Research and identify relevant media outlets, podcasts, and news platforms for potential coverage opportunities.
  • Draft compelling press releases, pitches, and media materials to effectively communicate the company’s message and achievements.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and producers to secure placements for the President & CEO in targeted media channels.
  • Monitor media coverage and track industry trends to identify opportunities for proactive outreach and engagement.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an Intern, you will work alongside our Public Relations team to assist in developing and implementing our communication strategies. You will also get the chance to gain hands-on experience in building relationships with key media contacts, creating content, and coordinating events.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

  • Develop and execute PR strategies for Atmosfy, including creating press releases, press kits, and pitching to media outlets.
  • Compile and maintain a database of media contacts and develop relationships with influential media members & creators.
  • Monitor and track media coverage and produce reports on PR efforts.
  • Monitor trends in the PR industry and suggest innovative approaches for campaigns.
  • Design and manage social media campaigns responsible for brand awareness and engagement.

Qualifications

Founded in 1954, the World Service Authority (WSA) assists individuals worldwide in understanding and exercising their human rights and duties through legal education and advocacy.

Mission: To educate about and promote human and environmental rights, world citizenship, world law, and to create the institutions of law that will assist humans in living together peacefully with each other and sustainably with the Earth.

In addition to its legal advocacy and public educational outreach, the WSA issues global identity and travel documents (such as the World Passport, World Birth Certificate, World Political Asylum Card, World Marriage Certificate, International Exit Visa, etc.) as mandated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and other regional and international agreements. Peace, justice, human and environmental rights, and global governance issues are of primary concern to the WSA.

Internship Details:

  • Spring Semester
  • 4 to 6 hours per week online and/or in person
  • Must be available during Eastern Time afternoon hours
  • In-depth intern orientation and training
  • Provides experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application in a professional setting
  • Weekly seminars and ongoing training
  • Academic credit toward degree (depending on school requirements)

Responsibilities:

  • Advance the mission and goals of the organization through social media platforms
  • Create written content for social media platforms
  • Produce videos, photos, art, and graphic designs for social media platforms
  • Grow social media following
  • Write and design monthly newsletter and interact with mailing list / followers

The internship program is conducted and supervised by a human rights lawyer with more than 30 years’ experience in the fields of human rights, international law, and international relations. Student interns will receive feedback regularly and will have the resources, equipment, and facilities provided by the organization to support the students’ learning outcomes.

  • The intern (intern/extern/trainee) and the World Service Authority (a non-profit organization) clearly understand that there is no expectation of compensation.

  • The internship is tied to the intern’s formal education program by integrated coursework or the receipt of academic credit.
  • The internship accommodates the intern’s academic commitments by corresponding to the academic calendar.
  • The internship’s duration is limited to the period in which the internship provides the intern with beneficial learning.
  • The intern’s work complements, rather than displaces, the work of paid employees while providing significant educational benefits to the intern.
  • The intern and the World Service Authority understand that the internship is conducted without entitlement to a paid job at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Wage and Hour Division of the US Department of Labor also recognizes an exception for individuals who volunteer their time, freely and without anticipation of compensation for charitable, civic, or humanitarian purposes to non-profit organizations.
