It can be considered that the success in the field of education only remaining in theory and literature, the situation that produced information is not being shared and not being realized and/or the situation that it just benefits the progress in the field of science pragmatically would be wrong for a scientist. Here, it can be said that the lack to turn technical, electronical, physical and experimental progress processes of our age, which never stop and whose progress cannot be stopped, into a utilitarian structure is not logical. İşman(2001), in this context, insists in his study that it is necessary for education institutions to make use of computer technologies widely and teaching-learning techniques should be cleaned up from memorized learning. “As education level improves, the usage percentage of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) increases. People who benefit the most from the ICT are individuals who are at the level of college, faculty and the more advanced education level.” (Alaca & Yılmaz, 2016). As said, ICT is a course which includes important achievements of the age, which is being used by colleges and more advanced educational units. According to this, it is evaluated that the importance of Basic Computer Skills Modules (BCSM) given at universities is too high to be debated. In the light of these data, the formation of a common perspective among all BCSM teaching staff and students and the formation of a realistic education system with a high functionality can be which is in life and cooperation is high is common denominator, within the light of these information. Overcoming the problem where BCSM is considered only as a module by students, teaching it in correlation with all curriculum modules, integrating it into the content of other modules and making it multidisciplinary can be set as objectives. It is believed that the usage of technology and computers should not be limited to only certain modules but also integrating it into other modules would be beneficial. It can be also considered that taking education out of amphitheatres and concentrating in laboratories will bring together significant gains. Observation and interview technique, as qualitative research methods, were used in this research. The study was conducted on 30 students, who took modules, and on 5 instructors, who taught, in Near East University in the 2016-2017 education year.

Teaching individual courses in our curriculum is done with inadequate focus on integrating the learning with other courses. This results in students not appreciating the courses showing less interest in learning process. This paper presents the new approach developed by us to teach the system software theory and practical courses for the computer science students. In this approach we are integrating the System Software course with the learning in the course on Microprocessor 8086, Microcontrollers and its Applications. Further this paper elaborates as how the use of a hypothetical machine in conventional teaching gave the freedom to teach system software concepts but failed to connect to reality. The method followed in this new teaching approach is that it relates all the concepts taught in system software with the real-time system/machines instead of hypothetical machine. It provides the flow that correlates the course with the existing software. This paper also explains how the changes in technology helped to consider real-time machine as an example while teaching concepts of system software rather than hypothetical machine. This paper also through light on the limitations of teaching the System Software course with hypothetical machine, the challenges faced during the change in syllabus and a brief explanation on the chosen real-time machine. We have observed better learning of the concepts of systems software through this approach. The result analysis prove, connecting the learning in courses taught in early semesters in the delivery is observed to help in building the learning context. It has resulted in improving their performance and understanding in the course.

Zimbabwean universities incorporated Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) into their curricula as a key aspect enabling students to improve ICT skills quality through Internet researching, communication and using software packages for learning and future employment. However, numerous factors influence computer skills acquisition and use among these students whose levels of computer literacy vary due to their divergent educational and social backgrounds. A qualitative case study was done to find out how particular factors influenced the quantity and quality of computer skills attained by students doing the Introduction to Computers CS101 course and how this relates to students' final competence levels and ICTs usage. Findings of the study indicate that whilst lecturers have the requisite qualifications to teach the course, the shortage of resources, lack of differentiation of students as well as inconsistency in lecture attendance by both students and lecturers compr...

Creating a realistic learning environment for Systems Analyst and Design (SAD) students is a challenge. Integrating discipline-oriented courses is one way of creating such an environment. This paper discusses a possible integration between two courses where the courses provide a basis for experiences that enrich the learning environment and give the students important competence in the IS field. The paper describes levels of integration and some consequences for students and lecturers. The discussion ends in a proposal for integration of the two courses. The integration of the courses will be on a so-called temporal co- ordination level where the main contributory factors are deliverables and the co-ordination of time allotted to the courses. The question of course integration is seen both from the lecturers' perspective and the stu- dents' perspective. The integration was tried out in the spring term 2002.

Learning process requires students to have the ability to use computer as a means of life. A learning that utilizes technological devices entails special treatment in its process, including practice pattern usage. This article reveals the concept of technology learning process based on students' perspective. The research applied a facts disclosure method of technology learning based on the observation and interviews with the X class students at the International Standard Boarding School of Amantul Ummah, Mojokerto, on learning introduction of MsWord as word processor software. The research finding shows that the effectiveness of technology learning process is influenced by the adequate facilities, teacher competence, student motivation, and learning atmosphere. As a part of technological learning, the effective practical technology-based learning process should: explain the benefits that students will gain; the ease of technology device usage; the access and availability of technology devices, the facilitation for student's knowledge sharing, and using of multimedia in the learning process.

Students in higher education have to use many tools of the information-communication technology (ICT). The various types of teaching and learning methods require computer skills on many fields. Sometimes we see that students have problems in handling, managing the ICT tools, because they have not enough knowledge on these fields. In this paper we examine the ways of harmonization of skills that electronic materials require and the students’ knowledge on the field of using electronic learning materials in higher education. We show the result of a survey on the competences on using e-curricula, on the affinities of using information technology among the first-year students before they start their study at our university. The questionnaire was filled by four thousand six hundred students at the beginning of their studies at University of Debrecen, Hungary.
