Create the Assignment

Ready the submission files

The second step is to make sure your assignment submission files are in an appropriate format.

Make sure to give a proper and descriptive file name to your assignment files. Your file name can be your roll number, name, subject code, assignment number, or combination. Here are some recommended examples of assignment file names.

• Asg1-0317.pdf
• 0000874598-asg2.pdf
• Usama-asg1-isl.pdf

Allama Iqbal Open University allows submitting assignments only in pdf (.PDF) format. To check your assignment file format, open the file details. If your file format is (yourFileName .pdf ), then you are good to go.

Tip: You can use ‘save as’ feature in MS Word to save as pdf or you can also use online tools to convert your file to pdf format.

Select your course

Once you login to the AIOU LMS portal (aaghi aiou edu pk), your need to select the course for that you want to submit your assignment. Find the ‘My Courses’ tab in the top navigation menu as shown in the image below. If you are on a mobile device you can open the side menu and you will find the ‘My Courses’ button.

Click this ‘My Courses’ button from your mobile or laptop. Then you will find all the courses you are enrolled in. Select the course for which assignment you are submitting.

Select the Assignment

After selecting your required course. You will see the page shown in the picture followed. This page will ask you to select the assignment number you are submitting.

If you are submitting your first assignment then select ‘Assignment # 1’ and so on.

Assignment Status and details

When you select your assignment number, the next page will show you the current status and a brief detail of this particular assignment submission. This page will also be showing you the due date and the remaining time you’ve left to submit this assignment.

If you have already submitted this assignment then this page will also show you your assignment grades here. This page will be showing data as shown in the screenshot below.

Before proceeding, you need to make sure that you have selected the right assignment number and course by checking this assignment details page. Make sure you are not submitting the wrong assignment number or course.

Add Submission

Click the ‘Add Submission button shown at the bottom of the assignment details page.

A new panel will open to submit assignment. If you are on a laptop or computer, you can simply drag and drop the assignment pdf file on the drop area or select the browse button to select your file.

If you are on a mobile device, you need to click the upload button (or icon) and then browse files on your local storage. Select your assignment file and click ‘OK’.

Your assignment submission file will be selected by Aaghi lms portal.

Upload Assignment file

To upload your selected assignment file, click the ‘Upload This File’ button as shown in the snap below.

Save Submission

Your file is uploaded to AIOU Aaghi LMS Portal but your selection is not saved by the system. After uploading the file you will be seeing a page like shown below. You need to click the ‘Save Changes’ button in order to save the assignment on AIOU LMS.

By this step, the process of submitting assignment is completed successfully. Using the same process you can submit your assignments for other courses as well. The process is also the same for Asg no 2 and Asg no 3.

Edit Submitted Assignments

After successfully submitting your assignment to Allama Iqbal Open University Aaghi Learning Management System, you can also change or resubmit your assignment till the deadline of the assignment.

If you want to upload an updated file of an assignment, visit the assignment details page and upload the latest submission easily. But make sure you did not miss the due date as this option is only available before the assignment due date.

The students assigned to you have submitted/dispatched their homework tasks to the addresses you specified, which you’ve properly assessed. Now is the moment to punch in your assessment of completed assignments into the punching portal (https://tutor.aiou.edu.pk).

The following are some important pointers regarding the assignment punching. You’re advised to follow all of the instructions while recording your scores. Administrative action will be taken if you do not follow all of the guidelines.

How to Punch AIOU Assignment Marks on Aaghi Portal?

The students assigned to you have submitted/dispatched their homework tasks to the addresses you specified, which you’ve properly assessed. Now is the moment to punch in your assessment of completed assignments into the punching portal ( https://tutor.aiou.edu.pk ).

The following guidelines will help you understand the punch-in process:

1. To punch a correct mark, first choose an assignment from the list on the punching portal and then submit it after providing its key number. You can follow these steps to make corrections in your assessment of completed tasks as well.

2. Punching is only possible through the Internet. The system will not permit you to punch in any assessment if you are offline.

3. To make corrections, select an assignment from the list on the punching portal and then click on ‘Make Corrections. This will open a window that will help you make changes to your assessments by entering new marks or detailed comments (for both revised and failed tasks).

4. Once this step is complete, don’t forget to hit the ‘Submit Marking’ button at the end of the window. This will activate your changes.

5. You can also upload a scanned copy of an assignment if you wish to do so by clicking on ‘Upload Assignment’. This option is available on both corrected and original assignments.

6. The assignment file must be in a .jpg or a .pdf format, that is no bigger than 200 KB, and it should have been scanned in 600 dpi or larger resolution (if you do not possess any scanning device at home, you can get your work done by the department’s computer lab).

7. A maximum of 3 assignment files can be submitted in a single punching session.

8. After you’ve uploaded an assignment file, the system will open its preview window to let you verify that it’s uploading without any errors or oddities.

9. This preview window will also display full details about the assigned student (identification number, address, email, etc.), so you can check if the details are accurate or not.

10. After you’ve clicked on ‘Submit Assignment’, a half-minute timer will appear on the computer screen to let you verify that everything with uploading is complete. If it is, your assessment of uploads will be submitted accordingly and the assignment file you uploaded will be deleted by the system.

11. If the half-minute timer doesn’t appear, you can start submitting your assessment by clicking on ‘Submit Marking’ anyway. In this situation, uploading will be automatically deleted and students won’t see their assignment file on the portal.

12. Please note that such kind of deleting isn’t possible for assignments that didn’t successfully upload. In this situation, an uploaded file will remain on the portal until students download it themselves or when their time is over, at which point the uploading will be automatically deleted and students won’t see their assignment file on the portal.

When you choose the Marks Punching Module, you’ll be brought to a window called the marks punching window, where several crucial instructions will be printed that are important for declaring results.

Vital Recommendations for AIOU Assignment Punching

While entering your marks, follow these vital recommendations in good faith below.

• To input, a number within a range of 0-100, just type the digits you want to be separated by a space.
• The lowercase letter a in the assignment marks entry boxes is for those students who have not submitted their work very correctly.
• Don’t use the format 79.0 or 070 in your work.
• Remove any gaps between digits before and after each digit. After entering the Marks in Assignments #1 & 2, click on the Action Buttons, such as Save/Update.
• After entering all the facts of assignment marks. Click on the dashboard button and locate in Available Modules the Print award listing and hold it secure which is required at a later stage.
• The show can reset his/her password by clicking on the “Forget password* alternative and offering CNIC, date of delivery and a New password, and so on for a further update.
• The remaining date to finish the punching of the task is 03-09-2024 the portal could be closed at 11:59 pm.

Step 1: How to Upload Assignment in AIOU Agahi Portal How to Write Assignments Log on AAGHI LMS portal (aaghi.aiou.edu.pk) by clicking on “Log In” button using your username and password sent by AIOU through SMS .

Step 2: Click on the “My Courses” link and choose your course.

Step 3: Click on “Assignment” link

Step 4: The following page will be displayed. Click on “Add Submissions” button

Step 5: The following page will be displayed. Click on File icon as indicated in the image below

Step 6: A window will pop up as shown in the image below. Click on “Upload a File” button then “Browse” your assignment file and press the “Upload this file” button. Please note that assignments are accepted in MS Word and pdf format. Handwritten assignments can be scanned using professional scanners or mobile scanner applications but file sizes should not exceed 5MB so try to use the optimum resolution for images.

Step 7: The following page will be displayed. Press “Save Changes” button

Step 8: A submission status page will be displayed. You can edit your submission till the deadline.

AIOU Assignment Marks Now Available on LMS

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has launched a new feature that will allow students to view their assignment marks directly on the LMS portal of AIOU.

B.A Assignments Marks Punching on LMS

AIOU has started giving students their assignments marks by 2022. The students will now be able to track their assignment marks through an interface in AIOU LMS 2022.

Enter your username and password

Once you log in to your Allama Iqbal Open University account, you can get your marks.

The marks will be categorized into one of three options – pending, graded, or assigned.

In all cases, you should see a list of assignments for that class and each will show your performance with respect to it.

An email was sent out about how to check AIOU assignment marks by using the LMS portal login AIOU methodically in every user account.

What if you have an issue with your LMS

Log on to your account and click on My Assignments in the top-right corner of your LMS page. In there, you will find an option to enter assignment marks. Enter your assignment’s code and select its department.

Follow with entering its name and submitting it.

Your marks will be updated as soon as possible. Keep in mind that an assignment must have been submitted before you can enter its marks on the LMS portal.

Students will now be able to view their respective assignments’ marks in the LMS portal.

Students can check how many marks they have obtained out of 100 in each assignment.

This feature has been rolled out for a few courses and will be available for all courses by mid-April 2018.

How to upload assignments marks on LMS

After submission of each assignment, students will be able to see their updated assignments in the mark sheet of their respective subjects.

First of all, open the My Courses section and click Assignments.

You will find three options:

View Assignments, Add New Assignments, and Upload Assignments.

Click the Upload Assignments button which is located at the top right corner under the courses menu option.
