दोस्तों जैसा कि हम सभी लोग जानते हैं भारत में अनेक खेल खेले जाते हैं, जिसमें प्रिय रूप से खेला जाने वाला खेल खो खो है। खो-खो मुख्य रूप से ग्रामीण इलाकों में छोटे बच्चे खेला करते हैं और यह खेल एक मैदानी इलाके में खेला जाता है। वैसे तो खो खो खेल में 12 लोगों का चयन किया जाता है, परंतु ग्रामीण इलाकों में छोटे-छोटे बच्चे 20 से 25 लोगों के साथ भी खो खो बड़ी ही आसानी से खेल लेते हैं।

भारत में बहुत से खेल खेले जाते है जिनमें से खो-खो गाँव में खेले जाने वाला सबसे प्रियतम खेल हैं। इसे खेलने के लिए केवल मैदान की आवश्यकता होती है जिसमें बाहर से 10 -10 फूट जगह छोड़कर चार चार फूट ऊँचे खंभे लगाए जाते हैं। यह खेल दो टीमों के बीच में खेला जाता है जिसमें प्रत्येक टीम में 9 खिलाड़ी होते हैं। खो- खो के खेल का जन्म बड़ौदा शहर में हुआ था और यह हरियाणा, राज्यस्थान और गुजरात में मुख्य रूप से खेला जाता है। इस खेल की सबसे पहली प्रतियोगिता 1918 में पूना के जिमखाने में खेली गई थी। इस खेल को पुरूष और महिलाएँ समान रूप से ही खेल सकते हैं। यह खेल व्यक्ति को तंदुरूस्त और चुस्त रखता है।

खो-खो का मैदान 111 फूट लंबा और 51 फूट चौड़ा होता है। मैदान में दोनों खंभों की बीच की जगह को आठ बराबर भागों में विभाजित किया जाता है। खेलने वाली टीमों में से एक टीम दौड़ती है और दुसरी बैठती है। धावक और चेज़र का निश्चय टॉस के द्वारा किया जाता है। बैठने वाली टीम के खिलाड़ी उन आठ समानांतर भागों में एक दुसरे की तरफ पीठ करके बैठते है और एक खिलाड़ी खंभे के पास खड़ा होता है। दौड़ने वाली टीम से तीन खिलाड़ी मैदान में आते हैं। खेल को 9-9 मिनट की पारी में खेला जाता है जिसमें बीच में 5 मिनट का ब्रेक होता है। ब्रेक के बाद दौड़ने वाली टीम बैठ जाती है और बैठी हुई टीम दौड़ने लगती है। दौड़ने वाली टीम के खिलाड़ी बैठी हुई टीम के खिलाड़ियों के बीच में चक्कर लगाते रहते हैं और प्रतिरोधक उन्हें रोकने का प्रयास करता रहता है। बैठी हुई टीम का खिलाड़ी खो कहकर और पीठ को छुकर दुसरे खिलाड़ी को भागने के लिए कहता है और उसके स्थान पर बैठ जाता है। पहले तीन खिलाड़ियों को आउट करने को बाद तीन खिलाड़ी और मैदान में आते हैं। इस तरह सबसे ज्यादा खिलाड़ियों को और कम समय में सबको आउट करने वाली टीम जीत जाती है। धावक हमेशा एक ही दिशा में दौड़ सकता है लेकिन खंभे के आयातकार में वह किसी भी दिशा में दौड़ने के लिए स्वतंत्र होता है।

मुझे खो-खो खेलना बहुत पसंद है। में और मेरे दोस्त रोज विद्यालय में इस खेल को खेलते है। इस खेल में किसी प्रकार अन्य वस्तुओं की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ती इसलिए सभी वर्ग के छात्र-छात्राएं खो खो खेल सकते है। यह भारत का सबसे पुराना और ग्रामीण इलाकों में बहुत लोकप्रिय खेल है। खो खो खेल खुले मैदान में खेला जाता है जिससे हमारा शरीर चुस्त और तंदुरुस्त रहता है।

खो-खो खेल में हर एक टीम में 9 सदस्य होते है। इस खेल को खेलने वाले धावक में स्फूर्ति का होना बहुत जरूरी होता है क्योंकि इस खेल में मुख्यत: दौड़ ही लगाई जाती है। खो खो खेलने से हमारे हाथ और पांव की मांसपेशियां मजबूत होती है। इस खेल को खेलने से हमारी सोचने समझने की शक्ति बढ़ती है।

इस खेल को खेलने के लिए एक मैदान में एक निश्चित दूरी पर दो खंभे लगा दिए जाते हैं और उनके बीच दोनों टीमों के धावक एक दूसरे के विरुद्ध दिशा में बिठा दिया जाते है। और दोनों दलों से 11 खिलाड़ी खड़ा रहता है और सीटी बजते ही एक टीम का खिलाड़ी दूसरी टीम के खिलाड़ी को पकड़ने लग जाता है। और अगर वह खिलाड़ी दूसरे खिलाड़ी को पकड़ लेता है तो दूसरी टीम का धावक खेल से बाहर हो जाता है।

हमारा भारत देश विभिन्न परंपरागत खेलों को खेले जाने के लिए विख्यात है और हमारे परंपरागत खेल ऐसे होते थे जिनमें किसी भी प्रकार की धनराशि की जरूरत नहीं होती थी और इसे हर वर्ग के बच्चे खेल सकते थे। आजकल खेलों का महत्व कम हो गया है क्योंकि कंप्यूटर और मोबाइल आने की वजह से बच्चे अब उन्हीं में खेल खेलते रहते है। जिससे उनका विकास रुक जाता है और मांसपेशियां मजबूत नहीं हो पाती है।

दोनों खंबों के बीच 230 मीटर की दूरी पर दो समांतर रेखाएं खींची जाती हैं। इन रेखाओं से गली में 30 से।मी। x 30 से।मी। के 8 वर्ग बन जाते है। इन रेखाओं के बीच में दोनों टीमों के खिलाड़ियों को एक दूसरे के विरुद्ध दिशा में बिठा दिया जाता है।  फिर खेल को खेलने के लिए अंपायर द्वारा सिक्का उछालकर टॉस किया जाता है। जो भी टीम टॉस जीतती है। वह सबसे पहले खेलती है।

प्रत्येक टीम को खेलने के लिए 7 मिनट का वक्त दिया जाता है। दोनों टीमों से एक ही खिलाड़ी को खड़ा किया जाता है उनमें से एक खिलाड़ी विपक्ष की टीम के खिलाड़ी को पकड़ता है। जब पकड़ने वाला खिलाड़ी विपक्ष की टीम खिलाड़ी के निकट आ जाता है तो वह  अपनी टीम के खिलाड़ी को “खो” शब्द का उच्चारण करके हाथ लगाता है और उसकी जगह बैठ जाता है और जिस खिलाड़ी को हाथ लगाया जाता है वह दौड़ने लग जाता है। अब विपक्ष वाली टीम के खिलाड़ी को उस दूसरे धावक को पकड़ना होता है। इसी के विपरीत प्रक्रिया विपक्षी टीम द्वारा भी की जाती है।

इसमें वही टीम विजय होती है जिसके सबसे ज्यादा खिलाड़ी टीम से बाहर हो जाते है। हमारे देश में इस खेल को खेलने के लिए विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित की जाती हैं यह प्रतियोगिताएं विद्यालय स्तर जिला स्तर राज्य और राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर आयोजित की जाती है। खो खो खेल खेलने के जीवन में बहुत महत्व है और साथ ही इसके बहुत सारे लाभ भी हैं जो कि इस प्रकार है –

खो-खो का इतिहास / History of Kho Kho in Hindi

खो-खो भारत का लोकप्रिय खेल है प्राचीन समय में यह खेल महाराष्ट्र में रथ (Chariot) पर खेला जाता था, जिस कारण इसको ‘ रथेडा ’ के नाम से जाना जाता था। खो-खो खेल के नियम बीसवीं शताब्दी के आरंभ में बनाए गए थे। भारत में खो – खो की प्रथम स्पर्धा सन 1914 में आयोजित की गई थी।

भारत में खो – खो को नियंत्रित करने वाली संस्था ‘खो-खो फेडरेशन आफ इंडिया’ है।

खो – खो के महत्वपूर्ण बिंदु

• खो – खो के मैदान का आकार = आयताकार
• खो – खो के मैदान की लंबाई = 29 मीटर
• खो – खो के मैदान की चौड़ाई = 16 मीटर
• खो – खो टीम के खिलाड़ियों की संख्या = 9+3 आरक्षित
• खो खो के मैदान में पारियां = 2 पारियां (4 बार)
• वर्गों की संख्या = 8
• वर्गों में बैठने वाले खिलाड़ी = अनुधावक
• पकड़ने वाला खिलाड़ी = सक्रिय अनुधावक
• मैच का समय = (9-5-9) 9 (9-5-9) मिनट
• मध्यांतर का समय = 5 मिनट

खो-खो के मैदान की लंबाई 29 मीटर और चौड़ाई 16 मीटर होती है। मैदान के अंत में 16 मीटर × 2.75 मीटर के दो आयताकार होते हैं। मैदान के बीच में 23.50 मीटर लंबी और 30 सेंटीमीटर चौड़ी पट्टी होती है पार्टी के प्रत्येक सिरे पर लकड़ी का पोल होता है  इसमें 30 C.M. × 30 C.M. के 8 वर्ग होते हैं।

स्तंभ या पोस्ट 

मध्य रेखा के अंत में दो स्तंभ गाड़े जाते है। इनकी जमीन से ऊंचाई 1.20 मीटर होती है। स्तंभ का घेरा नीचे से 40 सेंटीमीटर ओर ऊपर की ओर कम होकर 30 सेंटीमीटर रह  जाता है।

क्रॉस – लेन / Cross-Lane

प्रत्येक आयताकार की लंबाई 16 मीटर चौड़ाई 30 सेंटीमीटर होती है। यह केंद्र रेखा को समकोण अथार्त 90 डिग्री पर काटती है। यह स्वंय भी दो अध्दर्क में बंटा होता है। क्रॉस – लेन के काटने पर बने 30 सेंटीमीटर × 30 सेंटीमीटर के क्षेत्र को वर्ग कहा जाता है।

अनुधावक या चेजर / Chaser

वर्गों में बैठे खिलाड़ी अनुधावक या चेजर कहलाते हैं। विरोधी खिलाड़ियों को छूने के लिए दौड़ने वाले को Active Chaser कहा जाता है।

रनर / Runner

चेजर के विरोधी खिलाड़ी को रनर कहा जाता है।

खो देना  / To Give Kho

अच्छी ‘खो’ देने के लिए एक्टिव चेजर को बैठे हुए चेजर को पीछे से हाथ से छूकर ‘खो’ शब्द ऊँची आवाज में कहना चाहिए। हाथ लगाने और ‘खो’ कहने का काम एक साथ होना चाहिए।

फाउल / Foul

यदि बैठा हुआ चेजर अथवा एक्टिव चेजर किसी तरह का उल्लंघन करते हैं तो यह  फाउल होता है।

दिशा ग्रहण करना  / Taking Direction

जब एक्टिव चेजर एक पोस्ट से दूसरी पोस्ट तक जाता है तो इसे दिशा ग्रहण कहते हैं।

पाँव-बाहर / Foot-Out

यदि रनर के दोनों पाँव सीमा रेखा से बाहर छू जाए तो उसे पाँव-बाहर माना जाता है, उसे आउट माना जाता है।

लोना / Lona

जब सभी रनर 9 मिनट में आउट हो जाए तो chasers द्वारा runners के विरुद्ध लोना अंकित किया जाता है, परंतु लोना का कोई अंक नहीं होता है।

अधिकारी / Officials

मैच के प्रबंध के लिए निम्न अधिकारी नियुक्त किए जाते हैं।

• एक टाइम – कीपर

• एक्टिव चेजर के शरीर का कोई भी भाग केंद्र पट्टी को लगना चाहिए।
• अगर चेजर रनर को हाथ से छू लेता है तो रन आउट हो जाता है।
• चेजर अथवा रनर बनने का फैसला Toss द्वारा किया जाता है।
• बैठे हुए चेजर को Active चेजर पीछे से ही खो दे सकता है।
• जब तक बैठे हुए चेजर को खो नहीं दी जाती, वह अपनी जगह से नहीं उठ सकता।
• एक्टिव चेजर द्वारा खो देने पर ही वह चेजर के स्थान पर बैठेगा।
• एक्टिव चेजर का मुँह है उसके दौड़ने की दिशा में होना चाहिए।
• खो मिलने के बाद चेजर उस दिशा में ही जाएगा जो दिशा उसने वर्ग से उठने के बाद केंद्र – पट्टी को पार करके अपनाई हो। एक्टिव चेजर यदि खो न देता तो वह केंद्र – पट्टी के दूसरी तरफ पोल के ऊपर से घूम कर आ सकता है।
• चेजर अपने वर्ग में इस तरह बैठेगा कि रनर के मार्ग में कोई रुकावट ना आए। यदि उसकी रुकावट से रनर आउट हो जाता है तो उसे आउट नहीं माना जाता।
• एक्टिव चेजर के लिए पोल-लाइन को पार करना जरूरी है।
• एक्टिव चेजर बैठे हुए चेजर को पीछे से को देने के लिए, हाथ और को देने का एक्शन एक साथ करेगा।
• एक्टिव चेजर के अतिरिक्त बाकी चेंज अपने वर्ग में इस प्रकार बैठेगे कि उनके मुंह एक तरफ ना हो।

खो खो भारत का एक लोकप्रिय खेल है जो कि किसी भी तरह के समतल पर खेला जा सकता है। यह एक मैदानी खेल है और इसका जन्मस्थल बड़ैदा को माना जाता है। आज के समय में यह गुजरात, राज्यस्थान महाराष्ट्र आदि में भी खेला जाता है। यह खेल चुस्ती और दिमागी चालों से भरपूर है। इसका मैदान 111 फीट लंबा और 51 फीट चौड़ा होता है। इसमें दोनों तरफ दस दस फीच जगह छोड़कर दो खंभे लगते हैं जिनसे बाहर व्यक्ति किसी भी दिशा में भाग सकता है। खो खो में दो टीम होती है और हर टीम में नौ सदस्य होते हैं। इसमें से एक टीम दौड़ती है जिसमें एक बार में तीन सदस्य ही मैदान में आते हैं और दुसरी टीम मैदान में बनी लाईनों में बैठती है।

कोई भी दो व्यक्ति एक साथ एक तरफ मुहँ करके नहीं बैठ सकते हैं। धावक कहीं भी दौड़ सकता है लेकिन प्रतिरक्षक को एक ही दिशा में भागना होता है और पॉल पर पहुँचकर वह दिशा बदल सकता है। प्रतिरक्षक सिर्फ पीठ की तरफ से अपने साथी को हाथ लगाकर और खो बोलकर उसे दौड़ने को कह सकता है और खुद उसके स्थान पर बैठ जाता है। खो खो का खेल पहले चरण में नौ मिनट का होता है फिर 5 मिनट का ब्रेक का होता है। उसके बाद नौ मिनट के दुसरो चरण में दौड़ने वाली टीम बैठती है और बैठी हुई टीम को अब दौड़ना होता है।

भारत खेलों का देश है यहाँ पर बहुत सारे खेल खेले जाते हैं। खो- खो एक मैदानी खेल है जिसका जन्म बड़ौदा में हुआ था। यह गुजरात और महाराष्ट्र में मुख्य रूप से खेला जाता है पर अब इसका प्रचलन बाकि प्रदेशों में भी बढ़ गया है। खो-खो के खेल के लिए दो खंबो की जरूरत होती है और यह किसी भी तरह के समतल पर खेला जा सकता है। खो खो के खेल को पुरूष और महिलाएँ दोनों ही खेल सकते हैं। यह चुस्ती और सुझ बुझ का खेल है।

खो खो के लिए 111 फूट लंबा और 59 फूट चौड़ा मैदान होना चाहिए। इसमें दोनों तरफ से 10-10 फूट जगह छोड़कर 4 फूट ऊँचे लकड़ी के खंभे लगाए जाते है। खो खो की दोनो टीम में नौ खिलाड़ी होते है जिसमें से एक टीम भागती है और दुसरी उन्हें पकड़ती है। मैदान के बीच में दौड़ने की लाईने बनी होती है। एक चेजर पोल के पास खड़ा होता है और बाकि के आठ बैठे होते हो जिसमें सो किसी भी दो साथ बैठे खिलाड़ी का मुहँ एक दिशा में नहीं होता है। एक समय में तीन धावक ही मैदान में आते है और उन्हें पकड़ना होता है।

धावक पूरे मैदान में कहीं भी दौड़ सकता है पर चेजर एक दिशा में दौड़ सकता है और बैठे हुए खिलाड़ी कोलपीठ की तरफ से छुकर और खो बोलकर उसे दौड़ने के लिए कहता है और खुद उसके स्थान पर बैठ जाता है। खो खो में पहला चरण 9 मिनट का होता है उसके बाद 5 मिनट का ब्रेक होता है। दुसरे 9 मिनट के चरण में धावक चेजर बन जाते है और जो पहले चेज कर रहे थे अब वो दौड़ते है। स्कूलों में भी बच्चे खो खो खेलते है और बड़े स्तर पर भी भारत में खो खो के मैच कराए जाते हैं।

कबड्डी के अलावा खो-खो हमारे देश मे परंपरागत रूप से पुराने जमाने से ही खेला जाता आ हैं । भारत देश में खो-खो खेल बहुत प्रसिद्ध है, गांव के ज्यादातर बच्चे खो-खो हि खेलते हैं क्योंकि इस खेल को खेलने में बहुत आनंद मिलता है । भारत में खो-खो सबसे सबसे ज्यादा लोकप्रिय पंजाब राज्य मैं हे ‌। खो-खो का जन्म स्थान बड़ौदा माना जाता है ‌। यह गुजरात, मध्य प्रदेश, महाराष्ट्र आदि प्रदेशों में अधिक खेला जाता है । भारत देश के अंदर बहुत सारे लोगों का ऐसा कहना है कि खो-खो गरीबों का खेल है क्योंकि खो खो खेलने के लिए हमें पैसों की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ती है , मगर यह उनकी गलतफहमी होती है । यदि खो खो गरीबों का खेल होता तो भारत में इतना लोकप्रिय नहीं होता ।

मुझे कोई भी खेल खेलना पसंद है भले ही वह हॉकी,फुटबॉल, क्रिकेट, बैडमिंटन हो और भी ऐसे बहुत सारे खेल मैं खेलता हूं, लेकिन मुझे इन सब में सबसे ज्यादा खो-खो खेलना पसंद है । इस खेल को खेलते समय चोट लगने का भी खतरा बहुत कम होता है क्योंकि यह खेल मिट्टी के मैदान में खेला जाता है, जिससे गिरने पर भी चोट हमें नहीं लगती है । मैं जब छोटा था मतलब कि मुझे बचपन से ही खो खो खेलना बहुत पसंद है । मेरा आधा बचपन खो खो में ही बिता है, ओर बहुत बार में खो खो खेलने के लिए जिला कक्षा में गया था ।

खो-खो खेल में हर एक टीम में 9 सदस्य होते हैं । इस खेल को खेलने वाले धावक में स्फूर्ति का होना बहुत जरूरी होता है क्योंकि इस खेल में मुख्य दौड़ ही लगानी होती है ।

खो-खो खेलने के लिए 111 फुट लंबे और 51 फूट चौड़े मैदान की आवश्यकता होती है । दोनों और थोड़ा सा स्थान छोड़कर 4-4 फुट ऊंचे लकड़ी के खंभे लगाए जाते हैं और इन खंभों की बीच की दूरी आठ बराबर भागों में विभाजित कर दी जाती है । खो-खो खेलने के लिए एक टीम इसके अंदर बैठती है और दूसरी टीम दौड़ती है । बैठने वाले टीम के खिलाड़ी उन आठ समानांतर भागों में एक-दूसरे की तरफ पीठ करके बैठते है । यह खेल खुले वातावरण और खुले मैदान में खेला जाता है ।

मेरे दोस्तों के साथ मुझे खो खो खेलने में अतिशय आनंद प्राप्त होता है , मैं हमेशा से ही अपने दोस्तों को इस खेल में हराता हु । मगर बहुत बार दोस्तों को जिताने के लिए मैं खुद हार जाता हूं। खो-खो खेलने से हमें बहुत सारे फायदे होते हैं जैसे कि.. खो-खो खेलने से हमारे शरीर की मांसपेशियां मजबूत होती है । इस खेल को खेलने से हमारे सोचने समझने की शक्ति बढ़ती है । खो-खो खेलने से हमारे हाथ की हड्डियां मजबूत बनती है । हमें ऐसा लगता है जैसे हम जीवन में तनाव मुक्त हो चुके हैं, खो-खो खेलने के बाद जैसे हमारे शरीर के अंदर एकदम से ऊर्जा आ जाती है । ऐसे और भी बहुत सारे खो-खो खेलने के फायदे हैं ।

Pole: 

It is a cylindrical construction made of wood that is erected at both the sides of the field during the game.

The Chaser:

It is the player belonging to the opposing team whose aim is to save him-/her from being caught by the opposing team’s chaser.

Central Lane:

It refers to the two lines running parallel from one pole to the other.

Cross Lane:

It is a word that is spoken by one chaser while giving a pass to another chaser.

Early Getup:

It is a term that is used when the seated chaser gets up before obtaining a Kho from the chaser.

Kho Kho is played in a field of 29 * 16 meters. The poles are located on each side of the playground and the central lane is drawn from one pole to the other. There are eight cross lanes that cut the central lane perpendicularly and are drawn parallel to one another. The necessary equipment of Kho Kho includes a pair of watches, a whistle, a measuring tape, boric powder and some stationery items for writing results. In a match of Kho Kho, there are two referees who stand on opposite sides of the field’s opposite sides. They both carry stopwatch and each is responsible for deciding on a verdict.

The team that is chasing will be on their knees at the ground and each player consecutively facing in the opposite direction is an alternative direction. 

The chasers should catch the runner in the quickest time possible. The chaser will touch the nearest player of the other team on their back while saying Kho and whichever chasing team will take less amount of time to chase will be the winner. The runner or the chaser from both teams is decided by toss. The captain of the chasing team may end their turn before the allotted time. The team that scores more wins a match. And if a defender got out, he should enter the sitting box from the lobby.
