पावसाळा : माझा आवडता ऋतू.

आला आला पाऊस आला, वारा वाहे चोही कडे. ..वा ह्या कल्पनेनेसुधा खुप खुप आनंदी वाटते. असा हा पाऊस येताच मन प्रसन्न होते.

लहान, तरुण व वयोवृद्ध सगळ्यांनाच आवडणारा हा पाऊस सुरू होतो साधारण जुन च्या पहिल्या आठवड्यात. एप्रिल व मे मधे आंबे खाऊन सुस्त झालेले व उकाड्याने हैराण झालेले आपले शरीर व मन ह्याच त्या पावसाची आतुरतेने वाट बघत असते. कधी एकदाचा हा पाऊस येतो आणि आपल्याला थंडावा देतो. पहिला पाऊस येताच धरणीचा तो सुगंध जगातल्या सगळ्या महागड्या अत्तरांपेक्षा खुपच सरस व अप्रतिम, ज्याची ना कुठे बरोबरी न हा सुगंध कुठल्या बाटलीत भरता येतो. त्या मुळे हा सुगंध आपल्याला भरभरून घेऊन आपल्या मनात साठवुन ठेवावा लागतो थेट दुसऱ्या पावसाळ्या पर्यंत !

इथे सुरुवात होते पावसाळ्याची अरेच्या, तुम्ही पण हुळूच ह्या वातावरणात पोहचलात की काय ?

पावसाची मज्जा :

पाऊस हा अगदी सगळ्यांचा लाडका आणि प्रत्येकाची आनंद घेण्याची पद्धत ही अनोखी. लहान मुले मस्त चिखलात खेळून, पाण्यात होड्या सोडून व पावसात चिंब भिजून मजा करतात, इथे आई ओरडून ओरडून कंटाळते पण ही चिमुकली आनंद लुटण्यात इतकी का मग्न असतात की घरी आल्यावर मार खायची पण त्यांची तयारी असते पण तो चिखल, त्या होड्या, काही त्यांना सोडवत नाही !

आता तरुणाई! तिची पावसाची मज्जा घेण्याची कल्पनाच निराळी! मस्त गाड्या घेऊन लांब भटकंती करायची, मधेच एखाद्या टपरी वर थांबून चहा व भज्यांवर, ताव मारायचा.एकमेकांना पाऊस ओंजळीत घेऊन भिजवायचे तर कुणी ट्रेक ला उंच गड, किल्ले, डोंगर सर करायला निघतात. मधेच ते वाहणारे झरे, ते पाणी पिणे, त्यात परत चिंब भिजणे. सगळं सगळं विसरून ही तरुणाई स्वछंद अशा जगात असते .अरे हो, मक्याचे कणीस तर राहिलेच की त्यावर ताव नाही मारला तर कसं चालेल बरं?

मग आली आपली जेष्ठ मंडळी…ही बाहेर जाऊन भिजू शकत नाही तर मस्त पैकी कुणी आलं-गवती चहा चा मित्रांसोबत घोट घेत जुन्या आठवणींना उजाळा देतात तर कुणी कॉफी, पुस्तक व सुमधुर संगीताच्या जुन्या आठवणीत रमतात. असा हा पाऊस आल्हाददायक, मनमोहक व आनंद देणारा!

निसर्गाचा जल्लोष :

हा झाला आनंद देणारा पाऊस. ह्यानं माणसांना तर आनंद होतोच पण पशु, पक्षी हे देखील उल्हासित होतात. झाडे पाने तर आनंदाने जसे पावसाच्या तालावर नाचतात॰ एका पावसातच ही हिरवीगार होतात॰ टवटवीत होऊन आनंद व्यक्त करतात. पृथ्वी जसा सुंदर हिरवा शालु नेसुन प्रसन्न मुद्रेने आपला आनंद व्यक्त करत असते, ह्या हिरव्यागार धरणी कडे बघतच बसावेसे वाटते. सकाळी पडणारे ते हलकेसे धुके, मधुनच येणारी ती रिमझिम, कधी हळूच डोकावणारा तो सूर्यप्रकाश आणि हो सप्तरंगांची उधळण करणारा तो इंद्रधनुष्य, ज्याला बघण्यासाठी आपण आतुर असतो. एकदा का तो नजरेस पडला कि जसे स्वर्ग सुख! लहान मोठया सगळ्यांना मोहित करणारे हे इंद्रधनुष्य म्हणजे जसे आपल्या डोळ्यांना मिळणारा निसर्गाचा एक ‘नायब तोहफाच’ ! उन्हाळ्यात जे पक्षी चिडी चुप असतात तेच ह्या पावसाळ्यात गाणे गाऊन देवाच्या ह्या देणगीचे धन्यवाद करतात. जंगल तर पक्ष्यांच्या किलकिलाटाने नुसते दुमदुमुन जाते व जनावरे उल्हसित होऊन निरनिराळे आवाज काढुन आपला आनंद व्यक्त करतात. हाच तो पावसाळा, आनंद देणारा, उल्हसित करणारा, कधी येतो असा ध्यास लावणारा, सगळ्या पृथ्वीला आनंदी व प्रफुल्लित करणारा!

पावसाचे तांडव :

पावसात खळखळून वाहणारे ते झरे, तुडूंब वाहणाऱ्यात्या नद्या, फेसाळणारा तो समुद्र, अथांग उसळणाऱ्या त्या उंच उंच लाटा, खरं तर खुप प्रेक्षणीय असतात. पण ह्यानेच जर का रौद्र रूप धारण केले तर ते महाभयंकर होऊ शकते. पुराची शक्यता वाढते. ज्यात जिवित व वित्त हानी प्रचंड प्रमाणात होऊ शकते. अति वृष्टीने शेतकऱ्याचे प्रचंड नुकसान संभवते, वाहतुक खोळंबा, दरडी कोसळणे, वीज कोसळुन अपघात व जिवित हानी होणे हे या पावसाचे दुष्परिणाम होऊ शकतात. तरीही संजीवनी देणारा हा पाऊस अत्यंत आवश्यक आहे.

हवाहवासा हा पाऊस वर्षातून एकदाच का येतो असे प्रत्येकाला वाटते. सगळीकडे कसे प्रसन्न वातावरण, हवेत थोडासाच उष्मा, थोडी थंडी, मधेच ती रिमझिम, इतक सगळं छान छान असत की हे असेच का राहत नाही असे मनात सारखे येते. पण हा पाऊस कायमच राहणार नाही कारण अति तेथे माती ही म्हण त्यास योग्य लागु पडेल. असाच पाऊस कायम राहिला तर आपल्याला त्याचा हळु हळु कंटाळा येऊन तो नकोसा होईल, त्यातली मजा आनंद सगळे हळु हळु कमी होत जाईल व आपल्याला मज्जा देणारा हा पाऊस आपल्या साठी रोजचीच गोष्ट होईल मग त्यात गम्मत ती कुठली? तर हा पाऊस असाच येत जात राहो व आपल्याला खुप खुप आनंद देत जावो ही देवा चरणी प्रार्थना !

आपल्या भारतामध्ये प्रसिद्ध असे तीन ऋतू आहेत उन्हाळा, पावसाळा, व हिवाळा पण मला पावसाळा हा ऋतू खूप आवडतो. या ऋतूमध्ये पाऊस भरपूर असतो. रिमझिम पाऊस पडत असतो. पावसात नाचत बसायला, खेळायला, एकमेकांच्या अंगावरती पावसाचे पाणी उडवायला खूप आनंद होतो.

पाऊस पडत असताना छोटे छोटे तळे तयार होतात, त्यामध्ये उड्या मारायच्या अशा खूप गोष्टी पावसाळ्यात करता येतात. पाण्याच्या तळ्यामध्ये कागदाची जहाज बनवून खेळ खेळणं हा एक निराळाच आनंद आहे. पाउसाळयामध्ये टिपटिप अंगावरती पडणारे पाणी एक सुखद, थंडगार आनंद देते.

मानवी जीवनात पाण्याला खूप महत्व आहे. भरपूर पाणी आपल्याला फक्त पाउसाळ्यात मिळते. उन्हाळा सुरू झाला की पाउसाची प्रत्येक जण वाट पाहू लागतो. कधी एकदाशी पाऊस येतोय आणि हा अंगाची राख करणारा उन्हाळा निघून जातोय अस लोकांना वाटत असत.

पावसाळ्यामध्ये पर्यटक निसर्गरम्य ठिकाणांना भेट देतात. धबधबा पाहण्यासाठी, नदीचे पाणी पाहण्यासाठी पर्यटक खूप लांबून प्रवास करून येतात व अशा सुंदर निसर्गरम्य ठिकाणांना भेट देतात.

पावसाळ्यातील पहिल्या पावसाची आठवण वर्षभर राहते कारण पावसाळ्यातील पहिल्या पावसामुळे मातीचा येणारा सुगंध अगदी मोहक असतो. पावसाळा सुरू होताच आणि पावसाच्या सरी कोसळू लागताच पक्षांची, पाखरांची आपल्या घरट्याकडे निघण्यासाठी धावपळ सुरू होते.

कामानिम्मीत घराबाहेर असणारे लोकांची तर तारांबळ उठते. पावसामध्ये आपण भिजू नये म्हणून आडोसा शोधण्यासाठी लोक सैरावैरा धावतात. जर भरपूर पाऊस झाला तर पावसाळ्यामध्ये आमच्या शाळेला सुट्टी असते, आणि पुन्हा पाऊस कमी झाला की पुन्हा शाळा सुरू होते. मग शाळेत जाताना आई माझ्या सोबत रेनकोट, छत्री देते आणि दुपारच्या सुट्टीत खाण्यासाठी गरम गरम खाद्य पदार्थ देते.

शेतकऱ्यांसाठी पाऊस हा खूप मोठा महत्वाचा घटक आहे. शेतकरी पिकवतात म्हणून आपण खाऊ शकतो म्हणून पाण्याशिवाय काहीच नाही. पाउस आला की आम्ही सर्व मुले तर नुसती पावसामध्ये भिजत असतो. घरी जाऊन आईचा ओरडा खातो पण तरीही मौज मस्ती चालुच असते. मला पावसाळा खूप आवडतो. सगळीकडे झाडे हिरव्या रंगांनी लाल निळ्या पांढर्‍या फुलांनी भरलेली असतात.

शेतकऱ्यांसाठी पाणी अत्यंत महत्त्वाचे असते. पाऊस झाला की शेतीमध्ये पाणी खूप यायचे. पाऊस पडला की शेतकर्‍यांना खूप आनंद होई. पाऊस झाला की झाडांना वेलींना पालव्या फुटतात आणि सगळीकडे नुसती हिरवळ पसरते.  सगळीकडे पूर्णपणे हिरवळ आलेली असते.

सगळीकडे हिरवळ असते, मन प्रसन्न वाटत असते. पाऊस आला की आम्ही गाणी म्हणतो, अंताक्षरी खेळतो, पावसामध्ये नाचत असतो, एकमेकांच्या अंगावर पाणी उडवत असतो.

तो पावसाळा संपला की आम्हाला खूप पावसाची आठवण येते म्हणून आम्ही मोठ्या आनंदाने म्हणतो, “तू येरे येरे पावसा तुला देतो पैसा!” “पैसा झाला खोटा पाऊस आला मोठा!”

जेव्हा वारा वाहतो आणि पाऊस पडतो तेव्हा प्रत्येक हृदय आनंदित होते. पिकनिक आयोजित करण्यासाठी आपण गंगा घाटावर जातो. काही लोक निसर्गाचे दर्शन घेण्यासाठी बाहेर पडतात. झुल्याचा आनंद घेण्यासाठी मुली मोठ्या झाडाखाली जमतात. तिला झुल्यावर डोलायला मजा येते. ते गोड गाणी गातात. ही गाणी आपल्याला खूप आनंद देतात. आम्ही पावसाच्या पाण्यात आंघोळ करतो. मुले वाहत्या पाण्यात कागदी बोटी चालवतात. जेव्हा त्यांच्या बोटी बुडतात किंवा पाण्याच्या प्रवाहात वाहून जातात तेव्हा ते कसे ओरडतात!

पावसानंतर निसर्गातील प्रत्येक वस्तूला नवसंजीवनी मिळते. ऐन उन्हाळ्यात आदल्या दिवशी सुकलेले गवत अभिमानाने डोके वर काढते. आंब्याच्या झाडावरून कोकिळा आपले मधुर गाणे गाते. त्याची गाणी इतकी मधुर आहेत की ती मनाला भुरळ पाडतात.

सर्वत्र पाण्याचे साठे आहेत. घरे आणि रस्ते त्यांची घाण धुतात. झाडे आणि झाडे पावसाच्या पाण्यात आंघोळ करतात. ते खूप हिरवे दिसतात. पशू-पक्षीही पावसाचा आनंद लुटतात. पाऊस पडल्यावर बेडूक खूप आनंदी होतात आणि आवाज करू लागतात. सगळीकडे टर-टरचा आवाज घुमला.

पाऊस पडल्यानंतर रस्ते, गल्ल्या, चौक चिखलाने माखले जातात. यामुळे खूप त्रास होतो. आपले कपडे खराब केल्याशिवाय आपण चालू शकत नाही. प्रत्येकाला कधी ना कधी अस्वस्थ वाटते. काही ठिकाणी मुसळधार पावसामुळे रेल्वे ट्रॅक खराब झाला आहे. सर्वत्र चिखल दिसतो. मुसळधार पावसात काही रस्ते खराब होऊन पाण्याखाली जाऊन मोठमोठे खड्डे तयार होतात. आपण पूर्णपणे भिजतो. कधी कधी ते आजारीही पडतात. आणि काही त्वचाविकारांनाही बळी पडतात.

उन्हाळ्यातील संपूर्ण पावसाळ्याचे दिवस सामान्यतः आनंदाने भरलेले असतात. यामुळे आपल्याला आराम मिळतो. हे पूर्णपणे आनंददायक आहे. पण ढगांचा गडगडाट झाला आणि विजांचा कडकडाट सुरू झाला तर. मग आपला आनंद नाहीसा होतो. रस्ते चिखलमय होतात. मला पावसाची एकच गोष्ट आवडत नाही. रस्त्यांवरील चिखलामुळे गाड्या खूप घसरतात. काही वेळा धोकादायक अपघातही घडतात.

नमस्कार मुलांनो! आज आपण या लेखामध्ये पावसाळ्यातील पहिला दिवस हा निबंध पाहणार आहोत. मी पुन्हा एकदा सांगतो आहे. निबंध पाठांतर करायचे नसतात. विषय कोणता आहे हे समजून, आपले विचार त्यात क्रमबद्ध पद्धतीने मांडायचे असतात. निबंध कसा लिहायचा, त्यात काय अपेक्षित आहे आणि आपण निबंध लिहिताना कोणते मुद्दे लक्षात घ्यावयाचे आहेत हे आम्ही नीट समजावून सांगितले आहे (येथे क्लीक करा) . चला तर पाहूया आजचा निबंध पावसाळ्यातील पहिला दिवस.

पावसाळ्यातील पहिला दिवस – निबंध (२००+ शब्दात) :

जून महिना संपत आला होता, तरीही पावसाचा पत्ता नव्हता. मे महिन्यातील वैशाखाच्या उन्हाने पृथ्वी तापून निघाली होती, हवेतील उकाडा चांगलाच जाणवत होता. दुपारच्या वेळी बाहेर खेळण्यासाठी जाणे नको वाटायचे. सारे जण, कधी एकदाचा पाऊस सुरु होणार याची आतुरतेने वाट पाहत होते.

अखेर तो दिवस आला, अचानक भर दुपारी आकाशात काळे ढग जमा होऊ लागले. अचानक निसर्गाचे रूपच पालटून गेले. काही क्षणापुर्वी लागणारी उन्हाची झळ, कमी वाटू लागली. गार वारा जाणवू लागल्या, उन्हाची चमक कमी होऊन अंधार पसरला होता. इतक्यात पावसाची सुरुवात झाली. आम्ही सर्व मुले पहिल्या पावसात भिजायला घरा बाहेर पडलो. पावसात भिजलेल्या सुक्या मातीचा सुगंध, हृदयाच्या बाटलीत पुन्हा पुन्हा भरून घ्यावासा वाटत होता.

थोड्याच वेळात आमच्या अंगणात पाणी साचले. आम्ही पाण्यात खूप मजा केली. आमच्या सोबत झाडावरचे पक्षीही पावसात भिजण्याचा खेळ खेळत होते. साचलेल्या पाण्यात उड्या मारणे, कागदाच्या, पानांच्या होड्या सोडणे हे वेगळेच खेळ सुरु झाले. अखेर आजीने जोराचा दम भरल्याने आम्ही मुले आपापल्या घरी गेलो. आजीने पाणी गरम करून ठेवलंच होतं. छान अंघोळ करून येई पर्यंत आईने गरमा-गरमा चहा आणि भाजी करून आणल्या. बाहेर पडणाऱ्या पावसाकडे पाहत भाजीवर ताव मारला.

संध्याकाळ झाली तरी पाऊस पडतच होता. पाऊस व हवे मुले अचानक वीजही गेली होती. आज टीव्ही, पंखे चालू नसतानाही, काहीच वाटत नव्हतं. बाहेर पाऊस, गार वारा यामुळे मनालाही गारवा मिळाला होता. ओसरीतल्या कट्ट्यावर, आजीच्या कुशीत बसून पावसाला न्याहाळत होतो. आई, बाबा, दादा, ताई सर्वजण पहिल्या पावसाचा आनंद घेत होते. असा पावसाळ्यातील पहिला दिवस खूप-खूप मजेत गेला.

जून महिना संपत आला होता, तरीही पावसाचा पत्ता नव्हता. मे महिन्यातील वैशाखाच्या उन्हाने पृथ्वी तापून निघाली होती, हवेतील उकाडा चांगलाच जाणवत होता. दुपारच्या वेळी बाहेर खेळण्यासाठी जाणे नको वाटायचे. सामान्य माणसांपासून पशू पक्ष्यांसह सर्व जण, कधी एकदाचा पाऊस सुरु होणार याची आतुरतेने वाट पाहत होते.

अखेर तो दिवस आला, अचानक भर दुपारी आकाशात काळे ढग जमा होऊ लागले, वाऱ्याचा वेगही वाढला होता. आणि अचानक निसर्गाचे रूपच पालटून गेले. काही क्षणापुर्वी लागणारी उन्हाची झळ, कमी वाटू लागली. गार वाऱ्याच्या लहरी जाणवू लागल्या, उन्हाची चमक कमी होऊन अंधार पसरला होता. आणि इतक्यात पावसाची सुरुवात झाली. आम्ही सर्व मुले गोंधळ करून नाचू लागलो, पहिल्या पावसात भिजायला घरा बाहेर पडलो. घरातील मंडळी, अंगणात असलेल्या वस्तू पावसात भिजू नये म्हणून, आत ठेवू लागले. सर्वांची धावपळ सुरू झाली होती, अचानक आलेल्या पावसाने सर्वाना भांबावून सोडलं होतं. आम्ही ही आजीला मदत केली व पुन्हा पावसाच्या धारा अंगावर घेऊ लागलो. ओल्या झालेल्या अंगासोबत, वातावरणही गार झालं होतं. हवेतील गारवा अंगाला जाणवत होता. पावसात भिजलेल्या सुक्या मातीचा सुगंध, हृदयाच्या बाटलीत पुन्हा पुन्हा भरून घ्यावासा वाटत होता.

पाऊस सुरू झाला की सर्वत्र विशिष्ट प्रकारचे चैतन्य पसरते. त्या चैतन्याने सर्व सजीवसृष्टी न्हाऊन निघते. उन्हाळा सहन केल्यानंतर पृथ्वी ओलाव्यासाठी आसुसलेली असते. त्याचीच परिणीती म्हणून पाऊस सुरू होतो आणि सर्व निसर्ग आणि सजीव सृष्टी सुखावते.

पाऊसाचे महत्त्व अनन्यसाधारण आहे. पूर्ण पृथ्वीवर पाण्यामुळेच जीवन आहे त्यामुळे पाण्याला पंचतत्वांपैकी सर्वात महत्त्वाचे समजले जाते. पृथ्वीवरील पाणीच पुन्हा प्रत्येक वर्षी पाऊसाच्या रूपाने ताजेतवाने होऊन परत पडत असते.

पाण्याने झाडे, प्राणी, पक्षी आणि मानव देखील आनंदीत होत असतो. भारतात तर पाऊसाला देवकृपा समजली जाते. संपूर्ण देशात शेती केली जात असल्याने शेतीसाठी पाऊसाचे पाणी किती आवश्यक आहे, हे इथला प्रत्येक नागरिक जाणतो.

पाऊसाचे पाणी शेतीसाठी उपयोगात आणून तसेच जलसंवर्धन करून माणूस वर्षभर खाण्यासाठी धान्य पिकवत असतो. त्याशिवाय वनराई, जंगले, झाडे झुडुपे यांसाठी पाऊस हा वरदानच ठरतो. त्यांची वाढ पावसाळ्यात उत्तम प्रकारे होत असते.

पाऊसाचे पाणी हे नद्या, सरोवरे आणि तलावात साठत असते. नद्यांमार्फत ते पाणी समुद्राला जाऊन मिळत असते. त्या नद्यांतील आणि इतर जे स्त्रोत आहेत त्यामधील पाणी माणूस दैनंदिन जीवन आणि शेतीसाठी वापरतो.

पाऊसामुळेच जलचक्र शक्य आहे. त्या जलचक्रामुळे पृथ्वीवर प्रत्येक वर्षी पाऊस पडतो. त्यानुसार पृथ्वीचे तापमान आणि वातावरण व्यवस्थित ठेवले जाते. परंतु वृक्षतोड, वन्यजीवन विस्कळीत होणे आणि प्रदूषण यामुळे कधीकधी आपल्याला अवकाळी पाऊस आणि प्रचंड पर्जन्यवृष्टी पाहायला मिळते.

प्रत्येक वर्षी पावसाळा सुरू झाला की शाळा सुरू होत असते त्यामुळे पावसाळ्यातील एक वेगळीच अनुभूती शाळेत शिकताना येत असते. शाळा सुरू झाली की दप्तर आठवत नाही पण छत्री आणि रेनकोट मात्र आठवतो. त्यातच पाऊसावर कविता आणि गोष्टी ऐकल्याने तर पाऊस आणखीनच आवडू लागतो.

चित्रपट, मालिका यांमधून काही वेळा पाऊसाचे चित्रण दाखवले जाते. त्यातून आपल्याला स्वतःचा पाऊसाबद्दलचा अनुभव आठवतो. वास्तविक पाहता सकाळ किंवा सायंकाळचा पाऊस अनुभवताना गरमागरम चहा आणि नाश्ता असेल तर पाऊसाची अनुभूतीच निराळी!

Alfred Stieglitz was a photographer that is greatly responsible for making photographs an accepted art form. In these photos, he has demonstrated the artistic skills he had spent the past 40 years learning, by capturing the beauty of delicate and earthly clouds. In the summer of 1922 when he initiated his project, photography was not yet an accepted form of art, like music was. Stieglitz was one of a few artists that argued photography was just as much of a reminiscent art able to bring about strong feelings and memories as the accepted art of music. His portrayal of clouds represented his feelings. All of these photographs were called Equivalents due to their nature of exceeding a description of what was visible to the eye at a surface level, and instead, being symbolic of the weakness and vulnerability a human has. "The world in a great mess: the human being a queer animal—not as dignified as our giant chestnut tree on the hill.” His intrigue and fascination with clouds, combined with his feelings of disintegration as the world around him seemingly fell apart, (dying oak and pine trees, estate almost to pieces, a dying mother, working man but poor) led to his creations. The cloudy skies reflect his gray interstate. He hoped,  "Through clouds to put down my philosophy of life —to show that my photographs were not due to the subject matter... and still everyone will never forget them once they have looked at them. I wonder if that is clear” as clear as their ability to remain unforgettable is, in the photos he took using a handheld camera, the clouds are disoriented and of abstract shapes with no clear sharp outlines. He uses a cropping technique since the clouds are chosen out of the continuous never ending sky.  He titled his projects: A Sequence of Ten Cloud Photographs (1922) and Songs of the Sky (1923) further demonstrating the comparison of his visual art to auditory music. The Equivalents were presented in sets, for exhibition, with the prints often recombined in various groupings. In the following years, he made 350 cloud studies which were brought forth as contact prints on gelatin silver postcard stock.

Much like Stieglitz, I too used a handheld camera and tilted it to the sky, freezing the moving clouds still into a photo. He put down his philosophy of life, through the clouds, and my photos reflect my perception of how there's a whole world of things to discover, and the best part about it all, is that they're all illusions that are all valid as real as each other in one shape or form.  Finding them out to be real, then connecting them with your inner feelings to see how it all fits together, among one big universal web of knowledge and application, to create a piece of art. It comes to show how endlessly abundant our world is, how much there is for us to experience,  and to find beauty in. Clouds are otherwise ordinary. Even the appreciation, and action of accepting all that is for what is, is the greatest gift and the currency of love known as Gratefulness. The clouds represent the transcendence of consciousness, of appreciating the illusion of the world. They pass by as days do, and the past does. They represent the endless potential of the imagination, due to their abstract shape. Photographing clouds shows there is fulfillment in being okay with not having to do anything in life, yet taking the time to do something anyway, for the fun and enjoyment of itself. Gray clouds can be indicative that violent thunderstorms are about to come, or volatile emotions. (A portion of the set of my photos taken are in black and white, and have a gloomier mood). Or cloudy skies could mean, they are about to part for sunnier skies filled with rainbows., Reflecting on my inner emotions with art like Stieglitz, it's a retrospective of life that is a very spacy, warm, and loving affair from my own experiences. As well as the darker cloudier skies, symbolize the failed high expectations a person can have, and the struggles someone can have about them. I would think of it as a man moving on from his past problems to find sunnier skies knowing that life has so much more to offer. Like exploration, adventure, imagination, Higher Love, or Agape, as the Ancient Greeks call it. Then, there's an endless amount of ways to self-actualize and philosophize. You could spend the rest of your life doing any of these things, and you wouldn't even begin to reach the end, like the never-ending fabric of clouds in the sky, because that's how infinitely large our minds, feelings, and the world is. However, in this big mystery, one can still win the game of life by solving their own problems, yet immersing in the observation of the grand scheme of things, like capturing vivid images of nature for example. Even, by believing in things people consider absolutely crazy to think are true, (like how visual photography can be one day accepted as art, how Alfred Stieglitz thought)

Essay On Rainy Day in English

"Rain, rain, go away......” This is one nursery rhyme that I certainly do not agree with. And no Indian will agree with it either. We need the rain, especially an agricultural country like ours. May is a very hot and sultry month, due to the sun blazing down from the blue sky. Water sources dry up. 

Everyone looks upwards towards the sky. And then, one fine day, there appear dark clouds in the sky. Soon the sky is completely overcast with them. Nature seems to stand still in anticipation of showers.

The atmosphere abruptly changes. A cool wind starts blowing and gradually it develops into a gust. It sweeps over the land with a whistling sound, making trees sway and uprooting or overturning everything in its way. The sea starts foaming and sending forth huge waves.

Then it starts raining, not in drops or drizzles, but in cascades. It is as if the heavens have suddenly opened up. I love to go out and play in the first showers. If I cannot do that, then I stand in my balcony and hold out my hands to have the magical feel of the drops.

Within a few hours, the streets get flooded with water. All vehicular traffic comes to a standstill. People are stranded here and there. Low-lying areas are submerged under water. People try to get to their places of work, but most of the day is lost before they reach there.

Children simply love such rainy days. The main reason being that they would either have a full holiday, or at least a half holiday. On their way to school, they try to get wet intentionally, splashing about in the puddles, trying to drench others as well. They return home, perhaps later than usual, but with smiling faces and pleased expressions.

A rainy day inspires poets to write poetry. The beauty of nature and its baffling mystery find expression through verse. Sometimes I too feel like a poet! I love the smell of the wet earth after the first rains. I feel that it is better than any perfume in this world.

The day of the first rain in June is indeed a welcome day. Everyone is thrilled that it has rained. But most of all, the Indian farmer is the happiest, for he has been eagerly awaiting this day.

 overcast-(ढगांनी) आच्छादणे. in anticipation of--ची अटकळ बांधून. abruptlyअकस्मितपणे, develops into a gust- सोसाट्याच्या वाऱ्यात रूपांतर होते. uprooting-उन्मळून टाकत. overturning-उलथून टाकणे. cascades-छोट्या धबधब्यांच्या स्वरूपात.  are stranded-निराधार झालेला. low-lying-सखल, submerged- जलमय करणे. intentionally-हतूपुरस्सर. splashing about-पाणी उडवतात. puddles- डबकी. baffling-गोंधळ उडवणारे, गोंधळात टाकणारे.

India depends mainly on agriculture, so the people of India, wait eagerly for the rainy season every year. Rains are always welcome in India. Good and timely rain means good amounts of agricultural production which means prosperity. 

Poor rain means drought in many areas & poor agricultural production means misery for the poor people and bad economic year for the country. Last year the summer was too hot not only human beings but also animals & plants were suffering due to the heat. 

Everyone was eagerly waiting for the rains. The power-cuts added to our problems. On such hot day, when I woke up in the morning, I saw dark clouds covering the sun, everyone thought that there would be rain and we will be relieved of the severe heat. 

The heat continued to trouble us the whole day. & our expectations proved to be false. There was no rain that day. The same story repeated for two days & on the third day it started raining from the I was very delighted. 

The meteorological department had predicted rains for the next 72 hours. As the time passed, it began pouring heavily. My auto rickshaw didn't come, so I didn't go to school that day. It was the first rain, so even mummy couldn't dissuade me from playing in the rain.

 I took some of my friends from our building on the terrace and we enjoyed the rain. There for a long time, soon my elder brother along with his friends came to the terrace, they started playing loud music on the stairs which could be heard on the terrace, we all danced frantically.

It is considered good for health, to get wet in the first rain. Some people say it cures skin diseases. But considering the time we spent, dancing in the rain, it was sure not good for health. As I went back home, just as my mother opened the door, I started sneezing & my mother started scolding me. I had no option but to accept my mistake soon my elder brother came down sneezing, he too was scolded.

The next day onwards, the rain started in full swing, the disease season started. But we already had caught cold and cough. My brother & me were lying in beds and laughing at our condition.

Hear tracks by Neil Young, FKA twigs, Love Unlimited and more.

Dear listeners,

It’s finally April, which means it’s time for those proverbial showers. We’re enduring another dreary, drizzly week of gray skies here in New York, but I’ve found a silver lining in all the clouds. Rather than rage against the rain, I’ve decided to make it my muse for today’s playlist.

Perhaps because enduring a drizzly day is such a universal experience, popular music is full of rain songs. Some (like a track here from the soul trio Love Unlimited ) celebrate it, but most ( the Carpenters , Ann Peebles ) bemoan it, or at least see it as a metaphor for all kinds of sadness. So get ready to wallow — but know that this playlist ends on an optimistic note.

Plus, if all these rain songs get you down, just know that there’s an inevitably floral sequel to this playlist coming in May.

1. neil young: “see the sky about to rain”.

You know I had to include some Neil Young now that he’s back on Spotify. Clouds gather ominously on this moody tune from his great, uncompromising 1974 album “On the Beach,” which features understated percussion from Levon Helm and foreshadows the downpour to come on the album’s melancholic second side. ▶ Listen on Spotify , Apple Music or YouTube

2. Ann Peebles: “I Can’t Stand the Rain”

The instrument that makes that iconic, pinging rain sound at the beginning of this 1973 classic? That would be an electric timbale, which the producer Willie Mitchell had recently acquired and was excited to experiment with on this innovative track. Luckily, Ann Peebles and her songwriter partner Don Bryant gave Mitchell the perfect showcase for that futuristic percussion sound: a soulful lament about the weather, destined to be sampled and introduced to a whole new generation by Missy Elliott in her 1997 debut single.

3. Waylon Jennings: “Rainy Day Woman”

The only song on the country outlaw’s hit 1974 album “The Ramblin’ Man” that he wrote himself, “Rainy Day Woman” is an ode to a pessimistic, Debbie Downer type, though it seems that Waylon Jennings likes her that way. As he puts it in his low, rough-hewed croon, “I know where to go on a cloudy day.”

4. The Beatles: “Rain”

Recorded during the “Revolver” sessions, this dreamy 1966 B-side to “Paperback Writer” never made it onto a proper album, but it remains a potent early example of the Beatles’ penchant for studio experimentation and interest in the burgeoning sounds of psychedelia. As Ringo Starr put it in 1984, speaking of his inventive approach to percussion on the track, “‘Rain’ blows me away. It’s out of left field. I know me and I know my playing, and then there’s ‘Rain.’”

5. The Carpenters: “Rainy Days and Mondays”

A timeless soundtrack for languidly gazing out the window on a drizzly day, this 1971 hit, with lyrics by Paul Williams, was recorded when the precocious Karen Carpenter was just 20. “What I’ve got, they used to call the blues,” Carpenter sings in her clarion voice, parting the clouds with the luminosity of her tone.

6. FKA twigs: “Water Me”

Though not a song about precipitation in the literal sense, this aqueous, atmospheric and underrated 2013 track from FKA twigs’s second EP is a personal favorite, and I happen to think it perfectly captures the vibe of a rainy day.

7. Love Unlimited: “Walking in the Rain With the One I Love”

Finally, here’s a song that celebrates the rain, written by Barry White for Love Unlimited, the all-female trio that sang backup vocals for his solo recordings. This 1972 hit features drizzly sound effects, lush harmonies and a sensual spoken-word intro that revels in the romance of a sudden downpour: “Oh, it feels so good,” intones Glodean James, who would marry White and take his last name two years later. “The rain — and thinking of you.”
