As the Nameless traverses worlds, the Express Crew takes on assignments from across the cosmos as a means to honor the way of Trailblaze .

  • Dispatch two characters to take an assignment. Complete the assignment to receive the corresponding rewards.
  • For each character of recommended Path dispatched, an extra reward will be given at the end of the assignment.
  • Each character can only be dispatched on one assignment at a time.
  • You can determine how long each assignment would take. The more time spent on an assignment, the better the completion rewards.
  • Canceling a dispatched assignment without completing it will immediately release the dispatched characters, but no rewards will be given.
  • As you progress through the story, you will be able to take on more assignments.

Don’t Forget the Daily Honkai: Star Rail Assignments and Training Missions

Don’t Forget the Daily Honkai: Star Rail Assignments and Training Missions

Image of Jenni Lada

Like Genshin Impact , HoYoVerse designed Honkai: Star Rail in such a way that there are Daily Training missions and Assignments that can give you bonus items and points that lead to Nameless Honor and Glory battle Pass rewards. These aren’t available right away, as you need to increase your Trailblaze Level to at least 11 to start. Once you do, you get a chance to actively and passively begin earning rewards.

Don’t Forget the Daily Honkai: Star Rail Assignments and Training Missions

How to unlock and do in Honkai: Star Rail Daily Training and Missions

Go through Trailblaze Missions and the main campaign until you hit Trailblaze Level 11. The game will automatically perform a tutorial introducing you to the activity and encourage you along. Basically, these daily tasks function in the same way Genshin Impact ones do. You’ll see these under the Interastral Guide in the menu.

A handful will be available, each awarding a number of Activity Points that let you earn rewards. You need 500 points to claim all of them for a day. So on April 29, 2023, some of the ones available to me were:

  • Complete 1 Daily Mission: 200 Activity
  • Level up any character 1 time: 100 Activity
  • Inflict Weakness Break 5 times: 100 Activity
  • Complete 1 stage in Simulated Universe (any world): 200 Activity
  • Take 1 photo: 100 Activity
  • Clear Calyx (Golden) 1 time: 100 Activity

In the case of the Daily Mission, character level up, Simulated Universe stage, and Calyx, there’s even a button that you can click to directly go to that objective to complete it.

The Daily Missions themselves tend to be very simple. For example, one of the early ones you may encounter is a series of quests that includes The Art of Conversation. This involves talking to a Herta Space Station researcher named Emily and helping her learn to talk to people. There are no battles involved in this one. All you need to do is go, talk to her, then exchange some text messages.

Here are the rewards you get at each tier of Daily Training:

  • 100: 10 Stellar Jade, 200 Trailblaze EXP, 12,800 Credits
  • 200: 4 Lost Gold Fragment, 10 Stellar Jade, 200 Trailblaze EXP
  • 300: 6 Adventure Logs, 10 Stellar Jades, 200 Trailblaze EXP
  • 400: 10 Stellar Jade, 200 Trailblaze EXP, 17,600 Credits
  • 500: 5 Lost Gold Fragments, 15 Stellar Jades, 200 Trailblaze EXP

So by doing a Daily Mission, taking a photo by accessing the photo option from the main menu, leveling up a character, and completing one Calyx (Golden) wave, I was done. Honestly, if you’re choosing a Calyx or Simulated Universe as one of your tasks, you’ll probably complete the “inflict weakness” training without even thinking about it.

I’m going to level with you. I don’t exactly remember at which Trailblaze Level Assignments unlocked for me in Honkai: Star Rail . A lot of things come up at once, but know that appears around the same time as Daily Training. You’ll find it in your main phone menu under Assignments.

  • Character Materials: Destruction of the Destroyer for up to 30 Thief’s Instincts. 20 are guaranteed, and 10 can be acquired as a bonus.
  • Character Materials: Nine Billion Names for up to 30 Extinguished Cores. 20 are guaranteed, and 10 can be acquired as a bonus.
  • EXP Materials/Credits: Akashic Records for up to 2 Sparse Aether. 1 is guaranteed, and 1 can be acquired as a bonus.
  • EXP Materials/Credits: The Invisible Hand for up to 3,000 Credits. 2,000 are guaranteed, and 1,000 can be acquired as a bonus.
  • EXP Materials/Credits: Nameless Land, Nameless People for up to 4 Travel Encounters. 2 are guaranteed, and 2 can be acquired as a bonus.

20 hours after you dispatch your characters on assignments, they will return with rewards.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for PCs and mobile devices , and PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.

Without the best Honkai Star Rail characters & team synergy, the overall output of all four characters in a team will be overshadowed.

Honkai Star Rail Best Team Comps Top Pick

Below listed is a summarized version of the best team comps in Honkai Star Rail in my opinion:

Best Physical Team Comps

best assignment honkai star rail

  • Why I Chose This Team:  Clara is able to deliver excellent counterattacks to enemies.

Related: Honkai Star Rail Best 5 Stars Characters  and Best 4 Stars Characters

Best Team Playstyle

Clara, the primary DPS, relies on strong counterattacks and support from Svarog to deal substantial damage while staying survivable. Pairing her with March 7th , a tank character, enhances her sustainability due to March 7th’s shielding ability and Clara’s counterattacking trait.

For maximum damage, use Jing Yuan as the AOE main DPS . His high AOE damage activates after accumulating 10 attack stacks, boosted by Pela’s debuff.

Why Do I Think This Is The Best Physical Team?

  • Clara’s counterattacks and Jing Yuan’s AOE damage form a strong offense.
  • Asta boosts SPD and ATK for quick and efficient actions.
  • March 7th, shields and counterattacks for protection.
  • The team compensates for weaknesses, enhancing their overall effectiveness, ideal for a well-rounded physical team.

The pros and cons for using this team in my opinion are listed below:

  • Clara’s “Mark of Counter” provides continuous counterattacks.
  • Svarog’s damage reduction enhances Clara’s survivability.
  • Jing Yuan’s maximum AOE output damage benefits from Pela’s debuff.
  • Asta boosts SPD and ATK for the whole team.
  • March 7th offers shields based on her DEF.
  • Clara relies heavily on Svarog for survivability.
  • Jing Yuan requires 10 stacks of attack to maximize.
  • Asta’s buff is dependent on her own stats.
  • March 7th’s counterattack may not always provide enough damage.

Best Imaginary Team Comps

best assignment honkai star rail

Seele, a damage dealer, benefits from teammate buffs and triggers “Resurgence” on enemy defeat. Welt excels in crowd control with a Black Hole Zone. Asta boosts team speed and attack. Natasha is the healer.

This Honkai Star Rail Imaginary-type team offers offense, defense, and utility. It combines damage dealers, crowd control, and support characters for a viable force.

Why Do I Think This Is The Best Imaginary Team?

  • This team excels in balancing all necessary aspects of a powerful and versatile group.
  • Combining Seele and Welt’s damage-dealing and crowd-control capabilities with Asta’s support and Natasha’s healing ensures the team can overcome challenges.
  • Their complementary skill sets create an unstoppable force, maximizing their potential in both offense and defense.

As far as the pros and cons for the Imaginary team are concerned, they are listed below:

  • Balanced team composition with damage.
  • Enhanced skill damage from buffs.
  • Effective crowd control for enemy management.
  • Increased survivability due to healing and support.
  • Reliant on buffs for maximum damage potential.
  • Possible vulnerability if the healer is targeted.
  • The limited synergy between DPS characters.

Best Honkai Star Rail Wind Team Comps

best assignment honkai star rail

  • Why I Chose This Team:  Dan Heng and Asta can be the perfect starter-friendly DPS and support.

DanHeng, the primary DPS, excels in slowing enemies with critical hits , boosting his ultimate’s effectiveness. Welt, another DPS, adds crowd control with his Black Hole Zone Ultimate.

This Wind team relies on speed control, high damage, and vital healing and revival, granting them battlefield dominance and self-sustainability.

Why Do I Think This Is The Best Wind Team?

This Wind team composition is the best choice because it balances damage, speed manipulation, and support abilities. Each character’s role complements the others, creating a powerful synergy that overwhelms opponents and ensures the team’s survival.

When it comes to the pros and cons for the Imaginary teams, in my experience, they are as follows:

  • Effective speed manipulation.
  • Strong damage output.
  • Crowd control and healing support.
  • Limited revival ability (only once per battle).
  • Potentially vulnerable if key members are incapacitated.

Best Ice Team Comps

best assignment honkai star rail

Seele is the primary damage dealer, benefiting from teammate buffs. Her “Resurgence” talent boosts Quantum damage after defeating enemies.

Pela specializes in debuffs , lowering defense with her ultimate skill and passive, applying the Exposed status for potent Ice damage. Tingyun is a versatile support, enhancing allies’ attack and energy regeneration while offering damage boosts.

Why Do I Think This Is The Best Ice Team?

The Ice team composition is the best due to its well-rounded approach to offense and defense. Characters work together seamlessly, exploiting enemy weaknesses and maximizing damage output.

For an Ice Team, the pros and cons can be quite convincing, as mentioned here:

  • High damage output with synergy between characters.
  • Effective debuffs to exploit enemy weaknesses.
  • Diverse support capabilities, including shields and energy regeneration.
  • Reliance on teammate buffs for maximum potential.
  • Potential vulnerability if key support characters are incapacitated.

Best Lightning Team Comps

best assignment honkai star rail

  • Why I Chose This Team:  Arlan and Tingyun are an excellent comp when used properly with Bronya.

Arlan, a character whose skills deal increased damage as his HP decreases, benefits from the protection of a shield-bearing ally to sustain high-damage attacks .

  • Bronya offers additional support by increasing ATK% for the entire team.
  • Lastly, March 7th serves as the team’s tank, providing shields to allies based on her defense and counterattacking when shielded allies are targeted.

Why Do I Think This Is The Best Lightning Team?

With the combination of high damage potential, versatile support, and reliable defense, this team is well-equipped to dominate any encounter.

  • Arlan’s damage output increases as HP decreases.
  • Tingyun enhances allies’ attacks and provides energy regeneration.
  • Bronya improves team agility.
  • March 7th offers tank support with shields and counterattacks.

For the Lightning Team comp, the pros and cons re as follows after I played with it for a while:

  • High damage potential.
  • Versatile support and buffs.
  • Strong defensive capabilities.
  • Arlan’s damage is reliant on maintaining low HP.
  • The team may struggle if key support or tank characters are incapacitated.

Best Quantum Team Comps

best assignment honkai star rail

  • Why I Chose This Team:  Seele is able to detonate enemies using her single-target damage.

Seele is the primary DPS and benefits from teammates’ buffs. Her “Resurgence” talent boosts Quantum damage when an enemy is defeated. Welt is another DPS character with crowd control via a Black Hole Zone from his Ultimate Skill.

Asta supports the team, enhancing speed and attack. Natasha serves as the healer, prioritizing allies with low HP. This Quantum team excels in damage, control, support, and healing.

Why Do I Think This Is The Best Quantum Team?

The Quantum team composition is the best due to its harmonious blend of roles and abilities.

  • Buffs and “Resurgence” talent enhance Seele’s damage output.
  • Welt’s crowd control capabilities with the Black Hole Zone.
  • Asta’s support role, increasing allies’ speed and attack.
  • Natasha’s healing abilities, with a focus on critically injured allies.

For Quantum teams, they can be seen as follows:

  • Effective crowd control with the Black Hole Zone.
  • Strong healing capabilities for team sustainability.
  • Reliance on teammate buffs for maximum damage potential.
  • The team may struggle if key support or healing characters are incapacitated.

Best Fire Team Comps

best assignment honkai star rail

Himeko, as the main DPS, excels in dealing additional AoE damage when enemies are affected by Weakness Break. Hook, the Sub DPS, focuses on inflicting Burn damage to maximize her overall damage output.

This Fire team composition thrives on exploiting enemy weaknesses, maximizing damage potential, and providing efficient support and tanking.

Why Do I Think This Is The Best Fire Team In Honkai Star Rail?

The Fire team composition is the best choice due to its exceptional synergy between damage dealers, support, and tank roles.

  • Himeko’s additional AoE damage is based on enemies affected by Weakness Break.
  • Hook’s reliance on Burn damage to maximize her damage output.
  • Trailblazer’s tanking abilities, taunting enemies to protect allies.

For a Fire-based team comp, the pros and cons can be listed below:

  • Strong AoE and Burn damage capabilities.
  • Effective support character in Asta.
  • Trailblazer (Fire)’s tanking abilities provide valuable protection.
  • May struggle against enemies resistant to Fire damage.
  • Reliance on specific debuffs.

Final Remarks

After wasting 8+ months playing Honkai Star Rail, I believe that the best team combos include characters such as Seele, Fire Trailblazer, or anyone in between since Seele can deliver high single-target  damage while the Fire Trailblazer can protect the entire team.

Looking for an up-to-date Honkai: Star Rail character tier list? Honkai: Star Rail has a total of 22 playable characters so far in version 1.0, and that number is only going to increase over the next few months of Star Rail's infancy.

Even more so than its cousin, Genshin Impact , each of the characters in HSR can be extremely useful if used in the right ways at the right moments, in the right situations. But even so, the meta has now had time to settle and there are some characters that are head and shoulders above the rest.

Read on to view our current Honkai Star Rail tier list, ranging from the very best characters in the game right now to the least impressive For more information on each of these characters and our reasoning behind their rankings in our tier list, scroll further below the tier list table for our write-ups on each of the 22 units in the game - including limited event character Seele!

Honkai Star Rail tier list for 1.0

Here is our current Honkai Star Rail tier list for May 2023 and version 1.0:

Explaining our Honkai Star Rail tier list

Our tier list has been constructed with reference to a number of factors: as well as our own experience playing the characters we've drawn on our knowledge of the opinions of the HSR community, and the current meta that favours some paths and elements above others. We expect this to shift and change over time as HoYoverse releases updates that change the game and rebalance the characters, and we'll keep our tier list updated accordingly!

Finally, always remember that Honkai: Star Rail is a single-player PvE game, and it's fine if you just want to play as the characters you like, rather than the ones who dominate the current meta! There's really no downside to an unoptimised team other than the occasional battle taking a bit longer, and it beats investing your time (and potentially your money) into pulling and building characters who you don't actually enjoy seeing in your game.

S-Tier: Best characters in Honkai Star Rail

Unsurprisingly, the very best characters in Honkai: Star Rail are typically some of the hardest to obtain. Characters with limited availability on Event Banners tend to have great base stats and impressive skills, and this is very much by design. While it's inadvisable to try to collect every 5-star in the game, saving up your free pulls for these S-Tier units will allow you to put together some of the best possible team combinations in the game.

Seele poses against an electric pink-and-purple background, looking down at the camera, in a still from her character trailer in Honkai: Star Rail.

Unsurprisingly, Honkai: Star Rail's first ever special event character is one of the best on the roster, and the strongest DPS in the game at launch. As a follower of the Path of the Hunt, Seele is best utilised as a boss killer. Her skill and especially her ult deal an enormous amount of damage compared to other Hunt characters, and defeating an enemy with any of her combat skills grants her an extra turn. This gives her a significant advantage in larger-group battles even when her focus remains on a single target at a time.

Seele: 5 star (event-exclusive) | Quantum | The Hunt

Bronya is the game's premier offensive support character in Version 1.0. Her ult allows her to provide highly useful ATK and CRIT DMG buffs for DPS team members, as well as using her skill to dispel harmful debuffs applied by enemies against her team. And while her normal attack is the least of her merits, she's no slouch in combat either, with a passive talent that feeds off this move to advance her next action forward.

Bronya: 5 star (permanent) | Wind | The Harmony

Bailu is easily the best defensive support character in the game at launch. As V1.0's premium healer, she's got the good stuff when it comes to powerful and effective boosts to her allies' health. Comparing her kit to her F2P equivalent Natasha, Bailu is just a little bit better in every area, from slightly higher base stats to a unique buff she applies with her ult that helps allies begin to heal as soon as they get hit over the ensuing turns. Just try to ignore how weird it is that she's a water dragon who wields the Lightning element.

Bailu: 5 star (permanent) | Lightning | The Abundance

The A-Tier is where most of HSR's 5-star characters fall, thanks to their innately better stats and generally more impressive kits. However, there are also a generous assortment of 4-stars who make the cut, and happily several of them are characters you'll unlock for free. These characters will be indispensable in the early hours of the game even if you plan to pull for their 5-star counterparts when you can, and since they tend to specialise in support roles, there's a good chance you'll want to keep them on your team long-term while you focus on building up your preferred DPS characters.

Clara sits perched on the knee of a large mechanical humanoid in her introductory image in Honkai: Star Rail. She is barefoot. The background shows a snowy sky on one side and a black-and-white picture of Clara and her mech on the other.

The game's pre-eminent DPS all-rounder, Clara is kept out of the top tier by her status as a jack-of-all-trades, master–of-none. She can handle herself extremely well in a variety of combat set-ups, meaning that she's an effective alternative to having both a Hunt and an Erudition character on your team. While she can't quite compete with the specialists in their own areas, she more than makes up for it by being useful in every situation.

Clara: 5 star (permanent) | Physical | The Destruction

Gepard is essentially the 5-star equivalent to March 7th, who is already one of the best 4-star characters in the game. Given his extra rarity, Gepard of course does everything just a little bit better, from shielding allies to dealing Ice damage. Crucially, Gepard can shield his whole team simultaneously with his ult, which gives him the edge over March as a support-focussed character.

Gepard: 5 star (permanent) | Ice | The Preservation

Your extended time with Himeko as a trial character in the prologue will probably convince you that she's a worthy addition to your team. In addition to a solid basic kit, she gets a powerful free follow-up AoE attack anytime she or a teammate breaks an enemy's weakness, which means in a well-balanced party she can potentially attack multiple times per turn.

Himeko: 5 star (permanent) | Fire | The Erudition

The only 5-star Nihility character in the game at launch, Welt's normal attacks are solid enough, but his debuffs are what really justify his status. His skill and ult focus on slowing enemies down, and can often stop them in their tracks entirely. It's a simple but extremely effective way of debuffing the opposing team.

Welt: 5 star (permanent) | The Nihility | Imaginary

Tingyun is a very strong contender for the title of best 4-star character in Honkai: Star Rail. Her special skills revolve around buffing her allies in combat, and she can effectively lend her own attack to another character, to be dealt in addition to their own for the next three turns, with plenty of additional buffs being granted by both her skill and ult. If it wasn't for the fact that her buffs are limited to one target at a time, you'd swear this was a 5-star kit.

Tingyun: 4 star | Lightning | The Harmony

Natasha is one of the best 4-star characters in the game at launch, thanks in large part to being the only alternative healer if you don't have Bailu. She's a strong all-rounder, although admittedly no parts of her kit can be called outstanding, and her ability to heal individual team members or the party as a whole at practically every turn make it well worth giving her a spot in your party.

Natasha: 4 star | Physical | The Abundance Learn the Honkai Star Rail best Natasha build here!

Yanqing may be the least desirable 5-star character on Honkai: Star Rail's permanent banner. He's not bad by any means, but his offensive manoeuvres aren't significantly more impressive than Dan Heng's, who might be considered his 4-star equivalent. On the other hand, his passive makes him less likely to be attacked by enemies, allowing him a measure of self-protection notably missing from the kits of the 4-star boss killers.

Yangqing: 5 star | Ice | The Hunt

March 7th is your starting support character, joining your team in the prologue and specialising in shielding her allies. In fact, though, March is a good all-rounder: in addition to a decent shield skill, her normal attack can freeze enemies and her ult deals AoE damage across the entire opposing team. In other words, she's a very good 4-star alternative to Gepard.

March 7th: 4 star | Ice | The Preservation Learn the Honkai Star Rail best March 7th build here!

The B-Tier is where many 4-star characters fall, and therefore tends to be the main recruitment pool for F2P players. Just remember that tier placements are graded on the curve, and while B-Tier characters may not be quite as fancy as those in the S- and A-Tiers, they're still more than capable of doing everything you need to do to progress through the game.

The female and male Trailblazer (Stelle and Caelus, respectively) float in a purple void prior to the player choosing one or the other in the opening scenes of Honkai: Star Rail.

Trailblazer

The Trailblazer's element and path are both adaptive, and you'll find you pick up better options for them as the game progresses than the Physical/Destruction kit they start out with. However, even as your starter DPS they're consistently useful, and once they pick up the ability to switch to Fire/Preservation later on in V1.0, they become even stronger.

Trailblazer: 5 star (special) | Adaptive | Adaptive Learn the Honkai Star Rail best Trailblazer build here!

Pela is a good all-rounder who can frequently knock her enemies down a peg or two, thanks to her skill and ultimate talents both having the ability to remove their self-applied buffs, while dealing Ice damage at the same time. In fact, the only real downside to Pela is that her debuff skill takes away a buff at random if there's more than one to choose from, making it impossible to ensure that she hits the most desirable and strategic target.

Pela: 4 star | Ice | The Nihility

Sushang works very similarly to fellow Hunt 4-star Dan Heng, but with the added bonus of the chance of an immediate follow-up to her skill attack, elevated to a guarantee whenever she breaks an enemy's weakness. This makes her a little more powerful in ordinary combat, allowing her to more effectively contribute to crowd control while building up energy to trigger her giant-slaying ult.

Sushang: 4 star | Physical | The Hunt

Dan Heng is the game's starting boss killer. Given to you for free early on in the prologue, it's possible to start building him straight away, and his ult is powerful enough to one-hit some huge enemies from very early on. His normal attacks and crowd-control abilities aren't quite as impressive, however, and the other two Hunt characters in the game at launch have him edged out as an all-rounder.

Dan Heng: 4 star | Wind | The Hunt Learn the Honkai Star Rail best Dan Heng build here!

Unlocked the first time you interact with the gacha, Asta will almost certainly be the first offensive support character to join your team. In addition to being a decent all-rounder in combat, she can grant helpful speed buffs to her fellow party members when using her ult, while her passive can buff their ATK for up to five stacks. She rounds out the starting party nicely, and provides a helpful balance for F2P players who'll be sticking with the other three main starter characters for the foreseeable.

Asta: 4 star | Fire | The Harmony Learn the Honkai Star Rail best Asta build here!

The C-Tier doesn't sound terribly desirable and, to be honest, it's obviously not the place to find the best-performing units in the game. The characters on this level can be tricky to play thanks to a combination of low base stats and often uninspiring kits. But there's absolutely a place for C-Tier characters in many teams, depending on how you like to play the game. And indeed, some of these characters are more difficult than underpowered, meaning that it can be a pleasant and rewarding challenge to find a build that works for them.

Hook gives a thumbs-up gesture in her introductory image in Honkai: Star Rail. She's surrounded by childlike chibi drawings of other characters and being held by some sort of mechanical hand.

Hook's nominal purpose is to act as a solo DPS, but since all of her attacks are single-target as standard, it can still be beneficial to pair her up with an AoE-focused DPS as well. A multi-target variation on her skill becomes available in the turn after she triggers her ult. It's not a bad kit, but there are better Destruction characters available for a more reliable mix of single- and multi-target if you want to focus your resources on building up a single DPS.

Hook: 4 star | Fire | The Destruction

Despite having some cool stuff in her kit, Qingque is held back by the fact that it can take several turns to stack up her attacks effectively. There's an element of randomness involved, too, thanks to her passive ability relying on a complex series of card draws that can eventually add up to enhance her normal attack. It's great when it works, but unreliable when you're down to the wire and just need a DPS you can count on.

Qingque: 4 star | Quantum | The Erudition Learn the Honkai Star Rail best Qingque build here!

Arlan is injured when you meet him in-story, and if you take him into a combat encounter, you'll soon learn why. His skill requires you to leech from his health pool in order to damage enemies, and with very few healers in the game at launch, that's a huge downside when you have other DPS candidates who don't need to cannibalise themselves. To add insult to (literal) injury, his attack power isn't even all that great, although he can throw some pretty good AoE elemental attacks with his ult and passives.

Arlan: 4 star | Lightning | The Destruction

Despite her in-universe excess of confidence, Herta is a fairly weak fighter. She's capable of performing AoE attacks as part of her skill and ultimate abilities, which is good, but only her ult is particularly impressive in terms of raw damage. Other than the fact that you can unlock her for free towards the end of the prologue, poor Herta doesn't have much going for her right now, what with fellow freebie character Qingque leading the ratings for 4-star Erudition followers and several better Ice-aligned characters to choose from if you want to freeze enemies.

Herta: 4 star | Ice | The Erudition Learn the Honkai Star Rail best Herta build here!

While Honkai: Star Rail is well designed such that any character can be used effectively as part of your team, there are some who just don't stack up in comparison, even if you're an F2P player who can't afford to ignore a potential party member lightly. Don't despair if you pull a character who appears on our D-Tier, but be aware that there are better alternatives whom you almost certainly have access to.

Serval smiles warmly while sitting next to one of her steampunk-y machines in her Honkai: Star Rail character introduction image. A purple-lit industrial space forms the background.

Unlike her companion on the D Tier, Serval has charisma in spades. What she doesn't have, unfortunately, is much going for her beyond her AoE ult. With lower base DMG than her fellow 4-stars on the same path, and few buffs or debuffs beyond the basic ones provided by her Lightning element, Serval does the job without bringing anything spectacular to the table, beyond the fact that you can claim her for free early on in the prologue. She's not bad, per se, but there are better Erudition characters on the roster.

Serval: 4 star | Lightning | The Erudition Learn the Honkai Star Rail best Serval build here!

Not only is he not nearly as charming as he thinks he is, Sampo is one of the least effective characters in the game at launch. Despite nominally following the Path of Nihility, most of Sampo's active skills focus on dealing normal and elemental damage, but he's nowhere near strong enough to justify ignoring his nominal path and building him as a DPS. His debuffs only come in passively or after triggering his ult, and they're nothing special when they do make an appearance, so if you're looking for a good 4-star debuff specialist, pick Pela.

Sampo: 4 star | The Wind | Nihility

That's all we have to say about Honkai: Star Rail's best characters at this early stage, but we look forward to regularly diving into the meta to see what's changed! Honkai Star Rail: Best Team Members For Aventurine

Don't take unnecessary risks with your team composition.

Aventurine is Honkai: Star Rail 's most high-stakes gambler and his gameplay reflects some of that with the RNG of his Ultimate. Though he follows the path of Preservation, he does a lot more than defend. Aventurine offers great solo sustain potential with his stackable shields, and his damage is based on his DEF, making his kit a win-win in both dealing and surviving damage.

Honkai: Star Rail - Five Star Character Tier List

On top of that, he's got follow-up attacks that build up every time he or a team member gets hit, and he's an overall SP positive unit. Aventurine is one of those characters who does well in almost every team, but there are some team members who can utilize all of his potential.

7 Dr. Ratio

Dr. Ratio excels at dealing damage, and putting him in a team with Aventurine doubles Imaginary damage against enemies. This is especially good for strong enemies who only have a couple of weaknesses to exploit, like the True Sting boss in Swarm Disaster .

But what really makes the two a good pair is the fact that the focus of Dr. Ratio's kit is his follow-up attacks, and Aventurine's A6 trace makes it so that he gains a point towards his own follow-up attack when a team member does their own. So, you'll be seeing a lot more of Aventurine's follow-up attacks with Dr. Ratio on board.

6 Topaz & Numby

With Topaz and Numby, there are follow-up attacks galore. Topaz and Aventurine feed each other with their follow-ups because all of Topaz's attacks are considered follow-up attacks, meaning Aventurine's bar will fill up that much faster. Then, every time Aventurine does his follow-up attack, Numby's own follow-up attack moves forward, which then contributes to Aventurine's follow-up bar again, and so on. It's a glorious cycle.

This is particularly useful for situations where you have a limited number of cycles to finish a battle since follow-up attacks don't count as a turn taken. As a bonus, Topaz's fire element is pretty beneficial, as there aren't many DPS fire types, and she's the only one who follows the Hunt path so far.

Acheron is a beast on the battlefield, and if you have her, you'll want to use her whenever possible, right? Despite the popular notion that you need at least two other Nihility characters with her at E0, you can actually replace one of them with a Preservation character, and that's exactly what Aventurine is.

Honkai: Star Rail - Best Team Members For Acheron

If you have the Trend of the Universal Market lightcone on him, every time Aventurine gets hit, it'll apply the Burn debuff on the attacker, giving Acheron an extra petal. And since he's a Preservation unit, his chances of being the target of attacks are higher. Or, if you want to get really fancy and pull for his signature lightcone, it'll let him apply an increased DMG debuff every time he does a follow-up attack. This, along with his strong shields, leaves no weaknesses in a team with Acheron.

Another contender for the follow-up squad, and this time a standard banner character, making her much easier to get. Rather than her Skill, Himeko's follow-up attacks trigger when she has three Charges. To get a Charge, you just have to Weakness Break an enemy. And if you Weakness Break a boss or elite, she immediately gets three Charges and performs her follow-up attack.

Though it might not be as straightforward as Dr. Ratio or Topaz's follow-up mechanics, it's still a good budget option to help Aventurine gain more points for his own follow-up, especially if the enemy is weak to both Fire and Imaginary.

Another standard banner option for follow-up attacks, Clara's counter every time she's hit by an enemy counts as a follow-up, making it possible to rack up Aventurine's points quite fast for the duration of battle. The caveat is that, being Preservation and Destruction, respectively, Aventurine and Clara will sort of be fighting for who gets targeted by enemies.

Luckily, this isn't too bad. Clara's Ultimate makes it so that she counters the enemy regardless of who gets hit, as well as increasing her own chances of being targeted. But even if Aventurine is attacked instead, it'll contribute two points towards the follow-up rather than one, so it's basically a win-win.

If you have literally none of the above, Herta is the guaranteed economical option for follow-ups. She especially shines in Pure Fiction, which is not an easy mode to get all stars in, and Aventurine can help make it all the easier. Herta's follow-up attack triggers whenever someone attacks an enemy and makes the enemy's HP fall to 50 percent or less.

Honkai: Star Rail - Best Builds And Light Cones For Herta

So, you just need to wittle down the initial half before Herta starts constantly doing her follow-up attacks, in turn rapidly granting Aventurine his own follow-up points. Also, having an Ice character in the team is always a plus, because freezing enemies is one of the best things you can do in this game.

Unlike most of the other characters on this list, Ruan Mei doesn't have any follow-up mechanics. However, she's an excellent support and, like Aventurine, fits in almost any kind of team. She can increase other team members' DMG and Weakness Break efficiency with her Skill, and her Ultimate makes it so that enemies take more time to recover from Weakness Break, making them vulnerable for longer.

With Ruan Mei, you can take advantage of Aventurine's damage capabilities, whether or not you've built him to be somewhat of a DPS. You'll be able to clear enemies faster while keeping your team protected. With Aventurine's SP positive kit, you'll have the means to give Skill points to Ruan Mei and any DPS teammates .

Screen Rant

Honkai: star rail - aventurine character builds (light cones, relics, team comps).

Building Aventurine adequately in Honkai: Star Rail is an important part in unlocking his powers as one of the strongest shielders in the game.

Quick Links

Best light cones for aventurine, best relics, ornaments, & stats for aventurine, best team comps for aventurine, skill (trace) priority for aventurine.

Using the best build for Aventurine in Honkai: Star Rail and inserting him into a proper team comp can significantly improve his performance as a shielder and even enhance his damage output, as he is an aggressive support unit. Initially introduced as an NPC in Penacony with Version 2.0, Aventurine became a playable character with Version 2.1. In battle, he uses Imaginary DMG and follows the Path of the Preservation. His specialty is protecting allies from harm with a unique shielding mechanic, but he stands out when compared to the likes of Gepard or Fu Xuan in Honkai: Star Rail .

When attacked, allies protected by Aventurine’s shield will generate special stacks for him and, once he reaches seven stacks, he launches a devastating 7-hit follow-up attack dealing Imaginary DMG based on his DEF, the main stat in his build. In a sense, Aventurine operates like a second or third damage dealer in the team, despite his focus on protecting allies. As such, players should give him the best build, optimizing not only his shielding but also his offensive potential when set into the proper team in Honkai: Star Rail .

Honkai Star Rail 2.2 Leaks: New Mechanic May Change The Game Forever

The important to know about Aventurine is that, like most Preservation characters, his stats scale off his DEF stat. The higher the DEF stat, the stronger Aventurine’s shields and offensive abilities will be . It is also worth noting that the largest portion of Aventurine’s offensive potential comes from his follow-up attack and his Ultimate. With this in mind, you should be finding Light Cones that not only boost DEF, but also reward his offensive capabilities, boosting his CRIT stats or making his follow-up attack DMG increase, for instance.

The table below lists the best builds for Aventurine in Honkai: Star Rail , including Light Cone options, ideal Relics and Ornaments for him, the stats you need to farm for, and even his skill upgrade priority:

The best Light Cone for Aventurine is Inherently Unjust Destiny , his signature 5-star gear. It increases DEF by 36% and, when he provides a shield to an ally, CRIT DMG increases by 40%, for two turns. When he uses a follow-up attack, there is a 100% base chance to increase the DMG taken by the target by 8%, for two turns. Inherently Unjust Destiny is the best because it was tailor-made for him. Aventurine gets a massive DEF boost and his DMG buffs occur when he shields and when he uses follow-up attacks, both vital parts of his kit.

You can use Moment of Victory as a substitute 5-star Light Cone for Aventurine. Gepard’s signature weapon grants a 24% DEF and Effect Hit Rate boost and increases the odds of the wearer to be targeted by enemies. When they are attacked, their DEF increases another 24% until the end of the turn. While the general idea with Aventurine is having teammates get hit while shielded, Moment of Victory’s DEF buffs in Honkai: Star Rail are very good and fit him well. There is, however, a 4-star Light Cone that may be deemed even better than this 5-star item .

Concert for Two, introduced with Version 2.1, increases the user’s DEF by 16% and, for every character with a shield present on the field, the DMG dealt by the wearer is boosted by 4%. Although it does not match the potential of Inherently Unjust Destiny, Concert for Two is the best 4-star Light Cone for Aventurine and it may even be a better alternative to Moment of Victory in Honkai: Star Rail because it rewards Aventurine’s shielding with extra damage output. If you do not have this Light Cone, there are a few other 4-star alternatives.

Superimposed, Concert for Two’s DEF buff can be increased to 32%, while its DMG bonus per shielded character can reach 8%.

This Is Me! is a good 4-star substitute for Aventurine due to its 16% DEF boost and increasing the user’s DMG when they use their Ultimate by 60% of their DEF. Another option is Destiny’s Threads Forewoven , which increases the user’s Effect RES and, additionally, increases the user’s dealt DMG by 0.8% for every 100 DEF they have, up to a 32% increase.

If you are using Aventurine in an Acheron team comp in Honkai: Star Rail , for instance, you can help the DPS with Trend of the Universal Market. This 4-star Light Cone buffs the user’s DEF by 16% and has a 100% base chance of inflicting Burn on the opponent , which counts as a debuff that can fuel Acheron’s Ultimate. Additionally, the user will deal DoT equal to 40% of their DEF for two turns, meaning Aventurine can have a third source of damage based on what is expected to be his highest stat once you conclude his build.

To continue building Aventurine, you need to give him a proper Relic set. Currently, the options are limited and you end up having one real option that works for him. As a tank that is created to defend his allies and punish enemies, Knight of Purity Palace is the best Relic set for Aventurine . Its two-piece bonus grants a 15% DEF boost, while its four-piece bonus increases the maximum DMG that can be absorbed by the Shield created by him by 20%. This optimizes Aventurine’s role as a shielder in Honkai: Star Rail .

When it comes to boosting him as a shielder, opt for Knight of Purity Palace over Guard of Wuthering Snow. While it is good, it does the job less effectively and deprives Aventurine from the DEF boost that can be used by his offensive skills, which are extremely important.

In addition to Relics, you also need to complement Aventurine’s build with Ornaments. Traditionally, the most obvious Ornament set would be Belobog of the Architects , since it increases his DEF by 15% and when his Effect Hit Rate is 50% or higher, he gets an extra 15% DEF bonus. This, however, does not need to be followed so strictly. Aventurine should get a decent amount of DEF through his other gear and sub-stats, so you can opt to use another Ornament set altogether.

Honkai: Star Rail 2.2 Leaks Suggest New Character May Not Be Worth Pulling

Another option is Broken Keel, which increases Effect RES by 10% and when that stat reaches or surpasses 30%, all allies’ CRIT DMG increases by 10%. In fact, Broken Keel may be the best and safest Ornament for Aventurine . When farming Relics and Ornaments in Honkai: Star Rail , the best stats for Aventurine are DEF, SPD, and Effect RES , followed by Energy Regeneration Rate and HP. If possible, a boost to his CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG distribution is also welcome, since that can benefit his offensive capabilities.

Make sure to invest in a boot with SPD as its primary stat and get the stat in other pieces via sub-stats. It is ideal for Aventurine to pop into the battle and drop a shield for his allies before anything else occurs.

Aventurine is a very versatile Preservation character that can fit most team comps in need of a shielder. His offensive capabilities are extremely welcome in aggressive team comps that need everyone attacking. You are free to put him into virtually any well-structured team comp, as long as he is treated as a shielder first and a source of damage second.

The table below lists a few team comp suggestions for Aventurine in Honkai: Star Rail :

First and foremost, Aventurine is a shielder, so the first ability to upgrade is his Skill , which is precisely the one that grants shields to allies. Upgrading it, you can increase the power of his shield. Following that, you will need to invest in his Ultimate in Honkai: Star Rail , his most reliable source of damage. After that, boost Aventurine’s Talent, which will boost his Effect RES and the damage he deals with the follow-up attack, and leave his Basic Attack for last.

Honkai Star Rail 2.2 Leaks: New Trailblazer May Rival Game's Best Support

This should only be used on his downtime – the fact it scales off his DEF, however, should not go unnoticed, so despite leaving it for last, you should not leave it unattended. Despite the unusual way this shielder operates on the field, Aventurine’s build is a very straightforward one. It only depends on how much offensive potential you want to lean into. Nevertheless, Aventurine is growing to become one of the best shielders in Honkai: Star Rail , especially for endgame content.

Honkai Star Rail Aventurine guide: Best build, materials, and trace priority

Aventurine is the newest character to join Honkai Star Rail in version 2.1. As an Imaginary unit of the Path of Preservation , he fills a unique niche that makes him one of the most useful characters in the game.

Aventurine Kit and Playstyle

  • Best Aventurine Relics
  • Aventurine Materials and Farming Tips

Whether you’ve been saving your Stellar Jades for Aventurine or you decided to pull for him on a whim, you’ll be happy to have this fancy fellow on your roster. His materials are easy to farm for and he’s great at carrying your team through endgame content like Memory of Chaos and Pure Fiction .

Honkai Star Rail Aventurine Banner Date

Honkai Star Rail Version 2.1 Aventurine Banner

Aventurine’s banner will kick off on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 after the Acheron banner ends. It will remain active until the release of Honkai Star Rail version 2.2 on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 . That gives you a full three weeks to pull Aventurine before he disappears for an unknown period of time. A rerun will no doubt happen sometime in the future, but it’ll likely be a year or longer before he shows his face on a banner again.

As a Preservation character, Aventurine provides support to your team by shielding them from incoming damage. He’s one of the best sustain units in the game even when compared to other top-tier Preservation tanks like Fu Xuan and Gepard.

Honkai Star Rail Aventurine Character Preview

His Skill, Cornerstone Deluxe , grants shields and boosts effect resistance to your entire team. When a shielded ally is struck, Aventurine gains stacks of Blind Bet , culminating in a powerful follow-up attack after reaching seven stacks . His Ultimate ability, Roulette Shark , gives him anywhere from one to seven stacks of Blind Bet at random while also attacking a target and inflicting them with Unnerved , which increases the CRIT Damage they take by 9%.

Blind Bet is Aventurine’s main gimmick. Shields, buffs, and debuffs are nice, but the follow-up attack from his Shot Loaded Right Talent triggers often and does a surprising amount of damage. It caps at 10 stacks too, so he’ll frequently have leftover stacks after spending seven to attack. Essentially, Aventurine helps your team resist crowd control debuffs (which is a godsend in high-level content), keeps them shielded , and frequently retaliates when your team gets hit . He has it all.

Best Relics and Planar Ornaments for Aventurine

Since Aventurine scales off DEF (and one of his Traces increases his CRIT Rate as his DEF increases), his best Relic set is Knight of Purity Palace . This increases his DEF by 15% and increases the maximum damage that his shields can absorb by 20%.

Honkai Star Rail The Ashblazing Grand Duke

You could also use The Ashblazing Grand Duke with Aventurine if you have a decent set of that. It increases follow-up attack damage b y 20% and increases Aventurine’s ATK by 6% every time his follow-up attack does damage. It’s a decent setup for a DPS-focused Aventurine build, but the buffs you’d get from increased DEF are much, much better.

For Planar Ornaments, look no further than Broken Keel for Aventurine. This set increases his Effect RES by 10% and boosts the entire team’s CRIT DMG by 10% when his Effect RES is at 30% or higher. You don’t even need to build Effect RES to achieve this since Aventurine’s Fortified Wager shield buffs Effect RES by 25% when applied, and he applies it to everyone on the team including himself .

Aventurine Stat Priority

There are only two stats that you want to build for Aventurine: DEF and CRIT DMG. Everything in his kit scales off DEF, so that’s self-explanatory. He doesn’t need any CRIT Rate stats since his Leverage Trace increases CRIT Rate by 2% for every 100 DEF exceeding 1600, which adds up. Because of that, you should prioritize CRIT DMG for Aventurine.

Here are the main stats you should be looking for with Aventurine’s relics.

  • Body: CRIT DMG or DEF%
  • Sphere: DEF%
  • Substat Priority: CRIT DMG, DEF%, SPD

DEF is the name of the game here and Aventurine excels when it’s as high as possible. Not only does it buff every part of his kit , but it also increases his overall CRIT Rate because of Leverage. Aventurine is so, so easy to build compared to other characters, especially since his best Relic set is remarkably common in Cavern of Corrosion.

Aventurine Ascension and Trace Materials

To ascend Aventurine to the max level, you’ll need the following materials.

In total, here’s what you’ll need for all of  Aventurine’s Ascension levels .

  • Tatters of Thought x15
  • Fragments of Impression x15
  • Shards of Desires x15
  • Suppressing Edict x65
  • Credits x308,000

Aventurine Trace Priority

To fully level up all of Aventurine’s Traces, you’ll need the following materials.

  • Track of Destiny x8
  • Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster x12
  • Scattered Stardust x18
  • Tatters of Thought x41
  • Fragments of Impression x56
  • Shards of Desires x58
  • Crystal Meteorites x69
  • Divine Amber x139
  • Credits x3,000,000

Aventurine Eidolons

Aventurine’s Eidolons can significantly increase his combat capabilities if you have the Stellar Jades to spare. He’s strong enough at the base level, though, so you should probably just save your Stellar Jades for upcoming characters like Robin unless you’re willing to whale.

Honkai Star Rail Tier List – Best Characters, Ranked

Santosh Kumari

With so many diverse characters in Honkai Star Rail, it can be challenging to choose the strongest ones for your team. However, with my gameplay experience and input from the HSR community, I have put together the ultimate tier list for you.

In This Post

Ranking all characters in honkai star rail.

  • SS Tier: The most badass characters in HSR you need in your team.
  • S Tier: Strong characters with well balanced stats.
  • A Tier: Reliable characters that can provide stable support.
  • B Tier: Average characters that can work well if paired correctly.
  • C Tier: Below-average characters that need insanely strong backup.

Also, Check: ASTRA: Knights Of Veda Tier List

Note that this HSR tier list is solely based on my gameplay experience so far. Also, it’s not enough to recruit the strongest characters, you will also need to deploy compatible light cones, relic sets, and team members.

Since SS Tier characters are harder to pull, you can still create a great team using S Tier and A Tier characters. However, this shouldn’t stop you from experimenting with the remaining characters.

Unboxing Assessment Achievement Guide

All 10 Courier Packages for Unboxing Assessment

Courier packages in alchemy commission, courier packages in central starskiff haven.

best assignment honkai star rail

Unboxing Assessment is a new achievement in Honkai: Star Rail after the 1.2 update. To get this achievement, you need to interact with 10 Courier Packages in The Xianzhou Luofu. These packages can be located in both old and new areas, so you might have interacted with the Courier Package in the old area.

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ There are more than 10 Courier Packages in the whole of The Xianzhou Luofu. You can still get this achievement even if you interact with the Courier Packages other than the one I marked in the maps above. ➥ 4 can be obtained in the new area ‘Alchemy Commission’ while the remaining can be found in Central Starskiff Haven. Make sure to start in the new area first (unlocked by completing Trailblaze Mission) because there is a chance you will get the achievements after interacting only with the packages in the Alchemy Missions (as you may already interact with the ones in the Central Starskiff Haven or other areas).

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ The first one is beside the staircase with 2 Patrollers on top of it. There are 2 options you can choose from after interacting with it, but I choose the bottom option ‘Fine. I won’t come any closer.’ There is nothing special about which dialogue you choose.

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ Once interact with this package, you will be given options to eat the expired food or ignore the food. You can choose whichever, as long you interact with the package. If you choose to eat, you will faint and spawn back to the nearest space anchor. If you choose to heed the warning and ignore the expired food, nothing happen.

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ The third Courier Package is near two NPCs in blue outfits near the space anchor. For this one, it’s recommended to choose ‘Trailblazers are always happy to help those in need!’ because you will get 1 Praise of High Moral.

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ The fourth package is near two Patrollers and a Mara-Struck Soldier. Once interacted, you can choose to pick up the package or walk away, both options are fine.

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ This one can be found behind a signboard. Once interacted, you can choose to open the package or forget it. None will affect the achievement.

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ For the 6th package, it’s in front of the signboard. You can either help a stranger or turn around and leave. I choose the top option ‘I must help this stranger’ and give them a bowl of rice. There is no Praise of High Morals even if you did this.

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ This one is on top of a staircase leading to a starskiff on the left. If you check the rice inside the package (instead of walking away), you will get 5 Protein Rice.

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ The eight package is beside Yujin, the owner of Cloudbreadth Sleeves shop. Once interacted, you can open it up or leave it. I choose the top option twice ‘Open it up’ and ‘I accept!’ to get a Pleasant Looking Trash.

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ This Courier Package is just beside a Vending Machine and by interacting with it, there is nothing special or any dialogues you need to choose. But, it does mention ‘The Unshackled,’ which already has its own Adventure Mission here: Bestial Ferocity Mission Guide .

best assignment honkai star rail

➥ The last package is in front of the ads board. Same with #9, there is nothing special with this Courier Package, and interacting with it once is enough.

Honkai: Star Rail – Best Aventurine Team Compositions

" Joining as the newest character in Honkai: Star Rail 's 2.1 update, marking the game's 1-year anniversary, Aventurine adds additional options to the otherwise relatively lacking Preservation path. He is the second limited character option following the release of Fu Xuan. Unlike Fu Xuan however, who focuses on damage mitigation without shields, Aventurine scales with DEF, similar to other Preservation characters. Additionally, he provides stackable shields, a unique aspect of his kit, and can also act as a sub-DPS thanks to his follow-up attack and Ultimate.

Honkai: Star Rail Nobodys In the Big Dream Dreamscape Pass Sticker Locations (Chapter 13)

That being said, while he can fit into a variety of team compositions due to his support role, especially if players are lacking sustain characters, there are characters that particularly synergize with him, allowing for a more synchronized team composition. He is best suited to certain characters like Acheron or Dr. Ratio, although players can essentially utilize him with a variety of DPS characters, particularly in debuff or follow-up attack-focused teams. Furthermore, these two characters are one of the few, that allow Aventurine to make good use of "Trend of the Universal Market" light cone, as opposed to other light cone options. Here are some great examples of team compositions where players can find Aventurine fitting greatly in Honkai: Star Rail .

Aventurine + Acheron + Pela + Silver Wolf

As Aventurine is able to apply the Unnerved debuff on an enemy, he can be particularly helpful for building up Crimson Knot stacks for Acheron, enabling her to activate her Ultimate as often as possible while also serving as an excellent support for the team. Nevertheless, it is recommended that players also ensure to utilize two more Nihility characters with Acheron to gain the maximum amount of benefits and for consistent stack generation. Considering that both Pela and Silver Wolf are not very heavy on skill point management, this team composition also allows Aventurine to stack shields more consistently if needed. Alternatively, if players have a highly invested Sparkle , she can also replace Pela, especially if players have access to Acheron's E2 or simply want to utilize a skill point-positive character that can significantly buff Acheron.

Aventurine + Acheron + Black Swan + Kafka

Acheron, Black Swan, and Kafka, as three Nihility characters, have a unique synergy that allows all of them to function as both DPS and Sub-DPS without a significant hypercarry character. This is achieved through the effective application of damage over time (DoT) effects by Black Swan and Kafka, which Acheron can utilize to enable her Ultimate ability more frequently. In this team composition, Aventurine's synergy may not be as prominent as with other team that includes Acheron, but he still serves as an excellent sustain character, particularly for players who enjoy a DoT-oriented playstyle.

Aventurine + Dr. Ratio + Topaz + Ruan Mei

Players who have progressed through the Penacony story may have noticed the unique interaction between Aventurine and Dr. Ratio. However, this synergy extends beyond the storyline, as these two characters can actually complement each other well in a follow-up oriented team composition. Aventurine's Unnerved debuff can increase Dr. Ratio's chances of triggering a follow-up attack, while Dr. Ratio's follow-up attacks can, in turn, help Aventurine trigger follow-up attacks more frequently.

Honkai: Star Rail Every Preservation Character, Ranked

To further enhance the strength of follow-up attacks, Topaz can serve as an excellent support and sub-DPS in this scenario. Her utility allows her to increase the entire team's follow-up attack capabilities. As for the last slot, while it is more flexible, Ruan Mei is the best choice due to her buffs that benefit the team greatly in this scenario. While this team composition may seem to require investment, as it consists of all 5-star characters, players can opt to replace Topaz or Ruan Mei with other options for a more F2P-friendly approach.

Aventurine + Dr. Ratio + Welt + Yukong

Another team composition that features Dr. Ratio and Aventurine revolves around a mono-Imaginary setup, which is notably more F2P-friendly, especially if players have acquired Welt from the standard gacha pool. Welt can assist Dr. Ratio by applying a slow debuff, but he can be substituted with other debuff-oriented characters like Silver Wolf for those aiming to maximize the team's potential, even against enemies lacking an Imaginary weakness initially . In this setup, Yukong proves to be the optimal support choice. As the sole Imaginary Harmony character, Yukong provides additional buffs such as Crit Rate, Crit DMG, and ATK boosts, especially when players pay close attention to the action order.

Aventurine + Herta + Asta + Himeko

Another relatively F2P-friendly team composition that utilizes characters other than Dr. Ratio or Acheron involves pairing Aventurine with Herta. If players are fortunate enough to have Himeko, this synergy is further enhanced, particularly in content like Pure Fiction where the Erudition path or characters capable of AoE attacks are highly valued. While Aventurine typically focuses on single-target damage, his ability to simultaneously deal damage while providing sustain sets him apart from other support characters that are more focused on buffs or strictly sustaining the team.

Everything You Need to Know to Get Started with Honkai: Star Rail

HoYoverse, the developers of Genshin Impact, are gearing up to launch their latest game, Honkai: Star Rail. Fans of HoYoverse’s other titles can eagerly anticipate yet another exciting world to explore. To prepare for the game’s launch, here is a quick introduction to the game and how it works.

Honkai: Star Rail is HoYoverse’s upcoming turn-based RPG set to launch on April 26th. Set after the events of ‘A Post-Honkai Odyssey’, in an alternative universe from Honkai Impact 3rd, players will get to explore the galaxy aboard the Astral Express.

This will be the first time HoYoverse has dabbled in the turn-based genre, but fans of HI3 and Genshin Impact can expect many familiar concepts. The game blends third-person exploration, akin to Genshin, with turn-based combat featuring a diverse cast of both familiar and brand-new characters. Although not an open-world game, there are still many areas for players to explore, with locations easily accessible through various teleport points.

For players eager to learn more, let’s take a look at the basics of the game and some of the core mechanics.

best assignment honkai star rail

Characters in Star Rail each have an Elemental type and deal damage according to their respective Elements. There are seven types of Elements in the game: Physical, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Quantum, and Imaginary. The Elemental concept should be familiar for Genshin and HI3 players, with Quantum and Imaginary being core Honkai mechanics. However, unlike Genshin and HI3, Star Rail does not follow the classic Elemental ‘Rock-Paper-Scissors’ formula. Instead, enemies will have various Elemental Weaknesses and Resistances that require corresponding Elements to deal with.

best assignment honkai star rail

Enemies have shields, shown as a white bar, called Toughness. To break through Toughness and deal meaningful damage to their HP, players must use Elements that correspond to the enemies’ Weaknesses, which are displayed above their HP bar. For instance, enemies with Fire, Lightning, and Physical Weaknesses will require one of those Elements to deplete the Toughness bar. When a Toughness bar is active, the enemy takes reduced damage and deals additional damage. Destroying their Toughness causes ‘Weakness Break,’ which inflicts an effect to the enemy based on the Element used when Toughness is destroyed. In addition, enemies without Toughness will take additional damage and deal less damage to the players. Here are the Weakness Break effects for each Element:

  • Physical: Deals Physical damage and applies a Bleed (Physical DoT) effect.
  • Fire: Deals Fire damage and applies a Burn (Fire DoT) effect.
  • Ice: Deals Ice damage and applies Frozen status, disabling enemies for a turn, and inflicting an Ice DoT.
  • Lightning: Deals Lightning damage and applies a Shock (Lightning DoT) effect.
  • Wind: Deals Wind damage and applies Wind Shear (Wind DoT) effect.
  • Quantum: Deals Quantum damage and applies Entanglement, delaying enemy actions and inflicting Quantum DoT.
  • Imaginary: Deals Imaginary damage and applies Imprisonment, delaying enemy actions and inflicting Speed reduction.

best assignment honkai star rail

Enemies will also occasionally have Resistances and Immunities to certain Elements and effects. For example, Fire Resistance will significantly reduce the amount of Fire damage the enemy takes, while Frozen Immunity will protect them from any Freeze effects.

Along with Elements, each character in Star Rail has a Path they follow. Paths are associated with Aeons, essentially gods, and are akin to classes in other RPGs that define a character's role in the team. Currently, there are seven playable Paths in the game and seven others that have yet to receive playable characters. Having a good understanding of Paths is essential for creating effective team compositions that can tackle various content in Star Rail. The current playable ones are:

  • The Destruction: Characters in this Path are well-rounded damage dealers with good survivability.
  • The Hunt: Characters in this Path excel at single-target damage.
  • The Erudition: Characters in this Path excel at dealing AoE and multi-target damage.
  • The Harmony: Characters in this Path provide Buffs for the team.
  • The Nihility: Characters in this Path focus on applying Debuffs to enemies.
  • The Preservation: Characters in this Path provide defensive Buffs and Shields for the team.
  • The Abundance: Characters in this Path focus on healing team members.

best assignment honkai star rail

The other seven Paths are:

  • The Enigmata
  • The Remembrance
  • The Propagator
  • The Elation
  • The Voracity
  • The Trailblaze

Trailblaze Levels & Character Levels

Trailblaze Level functions as a player’s account level, much like Captain Level in HI3 and Adventure Rank in Genshin. With increases to Trailblaze Level, Players gain access to more features and content, as well as a boost to the Equilibrium Level. This increase in Equilibrium Level leads to more challenging enemies and greater rewards, similar to Genshin’s World Level system. Equilibrium Level will also dictate the Level cap of characters and how far they can ascend.

best assignment honkai star rail

Players can increase their Trailblaze Level by earning Trailblaze EXP through various missions and activities. Spending Trailblaze Power, the game’s stamina system, is an effective way to gain Trailblaze EXP. Players receive one Trailblaze Power every six minutes and can store a maximum of 180 at a time. Spending Trailblaze Power efficiently before it caps is the best way to advance a player’s account.

Characters have a maximum Level cap of 80 and require EXP, Credits, and Ascension Materials to progress. Similar to Genshin, Ascension is necessary to break through several Level caps, and each one (20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70) requires specific Ascension Materials. Credits and Character EXP can be obtained through the Calyx game mode, while Ascension Materials can be farmed in various Stagnant Shadow stages. Both Calyx and Stagnant Shadow require players to spend Trailblaze Power in order to receive rewards.

best assignment honkai star rail

Traces is an upgrade tree system that allows players to further enhance each character with additional effects and stats. To unlock points in the tree, players must level up and ascend the character. Furthermore, leveling up these points requires Trace upgrade materials and Credits. Trace upgrade materials can be farmed in the Calyx, which provides different materials depending on the day of the week.

best assignment honkai star rail

Light Cones & Relics

Star Rail’s equipment system is strikingly similar to Genshin Impact, and fans of the latter should recognize it instantly. Light Cones are essentially Weapons from Genshin, which provide stats and unique effects. Identical to Genshin, they can be enhanced and ascended to a max level of 80. Light Cone EXP and Ascension materials can be farmed in the Calyx. Duplicate copies of Light Cones can be Superimposed, just like Weapon Refinement, to increase its effect rank, to a max of five.

While Genshin characters can only equip one Weapon type each, characters in Star Rail can equip any type of Light Cone. However, each Light Cone belongs to a Path and the unique effect only activates when equipped on a character with the same Path. When equipped with Light Cones of different Paths, characters can only benefit from the stats. This makes Light Cones less restrictive than Weapons because they can still function as stat sticks when players have limited options.

best assignment honkai star rail

Relics are essentially armor equipment and function similarly to Artifacts from Genshin, providing stats and unique set effects. There are six Relic slots that a character can equip. The main Relic set group, consisting of the Head, Body, Hands, and Feet, provides a unique 2-set and 4-set effect. The Planar Ornaments, consisting of a Planar Sphere and a Link Rope, provides an additional separate 2-set effect.

Each Relic slot has a main stat and, depending on rarity, up to four substats. Head, Body, Hands, and Feet can be farmed from various Caverns of Corrosion, which are the Star Rail equivalents of Domains from Genshin. The Planar Ornaments are obtained from the Simulated Universe, a rogue-like game mode that players can challenge.

Warp is Star Rail’s gacha system and it operates much like Genshin’s Wishes, with some slight differences. There are three types of currencies for Warp: Stellar Jades, Star Rail Passes, and Star Rail Special Passes. A Warp can be obtained by spending 160 Stellar Jades, 1 Pass, or 1 Special Pass. Star Rail Passes can only be used for Departure Warps and Stellar Warps, while Star Rail Special Passes are reserved for the Character and Light Cone Event Warps.

The rates and hard pities for Warp are very similar to Genshin’s Wishes. Hard pity is when the game guarantees a certain rarity of item after a specific number of Warps. 5-star pities will vary across the different Warps, while 4-stars have a hard pity every 10th Warp. If the player has not received a 4-star item in nine Warps, the 10th Warp will have a 99.4% chance of being a 4-star item and a 0.6% chance of being a 5-star item. The chance of whether the 4-star item is a character or Light Cone is 50%. The hard pity will, of course, reset after the specified rarity is obtained. There are four types of Warps, or banners, in Star Rail.

The Departure Warp is the beginner banner and can only be used for 50 Warps before becoming unavailable. On this banner, players can only use Star Rail Passes and are unable to perform single Warps. Furthermore, the banner provides a 20% discount on sets of 10 Warps and guarantees a 5-star character within the 50 Warps. There are no rate-ups on this banner and no five-star Light Cones. The base rate, and consolidated rates (Pity included), are as follows:

  • 5-star Character: 0.6% (2.08%)
  • 4-star Character or Light Cone: 5.1% (12.16%)

best assignment honkai star rail

The Stellar Warp is a standard banner with no special rate-ups for characters or Light Cones and is permanently available in the game. A hard pity of 90 Warps is in place for 5-star items, meaning that after 89 unsuccessful Warps, players are guaranteed a 5-star item on their 90th Warp. 5-star items have a 50% chance of being either a character or a Light Cone. After performing 300 Warps on this banner, players can choose one 5-star character from the Stellar Warp to keep. This bonus is only available once per account. There is a possibility that additional items may be added to this Warp in the future, as was the case for Wanderlust Evocation in Genshin.

  • 5-star Character or Light Cone: 0.6% (1.6%)
  • 4-star Character or Light Cone: 5.1% (13%)

best assignment honkai star rail

The Character Event Warp is a limited-time banner that has special rate-ups for one feature 5-star character and three feature 4-star characters. There is a hard pity of 90 Warps for a 5-star character, and 5-star Light Cones will not appear on this banner. When a player pulls a 5-star character, there is a 50% chance that it will be the featured character. If players do not receive the featured character, then the next 5-star character they receive will guarantee to be the featured one. That means the hard pity for the featured 5-star is 180 Warps. As for the 4-stars, they follow the same 50% rule when players receive a 4-star item that is not one of the featured characters. Featured 4-star items have equal chances of appearing. The pity counter for Character Event Warps will carry on to the next Character Event Warp.

  • 5-star Character: 0.6% (1.6%)

The Light Cone Event Warp is a limited-time banner that has special rate-ups for one feature 5-star Light Cone and three feature 4-star Light Cones. There is a hard pity of 80 Warps for a 5-star Light Cone, and 5-star characters will not appear on this banner. This banner follows the same rules as the Character Event Warp, except the chance of featured items appearing is 75% instead of 50%. The pity counter for Light Cone Event Warps will carry on to the next Light Cone Event Warp.

  • 5-star Character: 0.8% (1.87%)
  • 4-star Character or Light Cone: 6.6% (14.8%)

best assignment honkai star rail

As with most gacha games, getting duplicate characters in Star Rail also provides additional power-ups through the Eidolons system. This feature is nearly identical to the Constellation system found in Genshin Impact. In this system, each character can reach a maximum of six Eidolon levels, requiring seven copies of the character to fully upgrade. By unlocking Eidolon levels, characters can gain additional effects, with the third and fifth levels always providing increases to Basic Attack, Skill, Talent, or Ultimate levels.

best assignment honkai star rail

In Star Rail, characters possess five types of skills, namely Basic Attack, Skill, Ultimate, Technique, and Talent.

best assignment honkai star rail

In combat, Basic Attacks deal damage and produce a Skill Point each time. They also function as the primary means of initiating combat while exploring the overworld. Skills, in contrast, are more potent abilities that require a Skill Point to activate. As the team shares a pool of five Skill Points, balancing Skill Point generation and expenditure is a crucial part of combat. Proper management of Skill Points ensures that the team can execute their Skills at the most opportune moments.

best assignment honkai star rail

Ultimates are the strongest abilities that characters possess, requiring a full Energy gauge to activate. Each Ultimate has different Energy requirements, which can be generated through Basic Attacks, Skills, Passives, Ultimates, Light Cones, and more. Techniques are abilities that can only be used in the overworld and require charges to activate. Players can hold up to five Technique charges, which can be restored via items around the world. Some Techniques can be used to initiate combat while others provide strong passives before engaging in battle. Lastly, Talents are unique passive effects that each character possesses.

best assignment honkai star rail

In Star Rail, players can have a team of up to four characters. While in the overworld, players control one active character and can freely swap around between the four as they explore. Throughout the world, enemies can be seen roaming around, presenting players with opportunities to engage in combat.

best assignment honkai star rail

Players can initiate combat with their character’s Basic Attack or, in some cases, their Technique. To gain an advantage, players can activate multiple passive Techniques to stack up buffs before engaging. It’s important to note that initiating combat with an enemy’s Elemental Weakness will trigger the ‘Weakness’ state, which damages their Toughness bar prior to the fight, providing players with a favorable start. However, players must be aware of being initiated upon by enemies, as this will cause the battle to start in an ‘Ambushed’ state, allowing enemies to act first for the fight.

best assignment honkai star rail

In combat, an Action Order queue on the left will show the sequence of turns between players and enemies. This order is determined by each unit’s Action Value, which is calculated based on their Speed stat. Units with higher Speed will have lower Action Values, allowing them to rejoin the queue sooner, above slower units. It is possible for fast units to perform multiple actions before slower units can even get a turn. For added convenience, players can choose to display Action Values on the Action Order via settings.

best assignment honkai star rail

During a character’s turn, players can choose to perform a Basic Attack or Skill, which will end their turn and allow the next unit in the Action Order to act. On the other hand, Ultimates can be executed at any time, without ending a unit’s turn, making them extremely powerful abilities. Players can utilize Ultimates in between enemy actions to break their Toughness bar and disrupt incoming attacks. Not only does Weakness Break interrupt their action, but it also reduces their Action Value and further delays their turn. Keep in mind, Toughness bars will regenerate to full on the enemy’s next turn. Understanding turn sequence and managing skills are key to succeeding in Star Rail’s combat.

best assignment honkai star rail

Games Modes

There are multiple stages available for players to gather resources to enhance their characters. The Calyx stages provide Character and Light Cone EXP, Credits, Trace upgrade materials, and Light Cone Ascension materials. Much like Domains from Genshin, Calyx stages have scheduled daily rotations for different materials. The Caverns of Corrosion provide various main Relic set pieces while the Stagnant Shadows allow players to farm various character ascension materials. Additionally, the Echo of War stages are weekly boss encounters that reward Relics, Trace upgrade materials, and Light Cones.

best assignment honkai star rail

Forgotten Hall is an endgame challenge mode that operates similarly to the Spiral Abyss from Genshin. However, instead of racing against a timer, players must aim to finish the battles in as few turns as possible. Players will then be awarded zero to three stars based on their performance, which will then dictate how many rewards they receive. The Forgotten Hall consists of 15 stages with one-time rewards and 10 more challenging stages that reset regularly, resembling the Abyss Corridor and Abyssal Moon Spire.

best assignment honkai star rail

The Simulated Universe is a rogue-like game mode that resets weekly and offers rewards based on the number of stages cleared. There are six ‘Worlds’ in this game mode, each with varying difficulties and stages. Players will go through randomized stages and collect various buffs called Blessings and Curios to assist them. In the last stage, players must defeat a final boss room in order to clear the run. Most notably, this game mode is where players can farm Planar Ornaments for their additional 2-set effect.

Honkai: Star Rail is an exciting new entry to the Honkai universe with tons of potential. The game provides engaging turn-based combat and an immersive new world for players to explore. As is the case with any HoYoverse game, Star Rail features an array of fascinating characters and storylines that are sure to captivate players’ attention. If Genshin and HI3 are any indicators, players can expect plenty more content to be delivered after launch. Whether it’s fans of HoYoverse or newcomers to the franchise, Honkai: Star Rail is definitely worth checking out.

Honkai: Star Rail – Aventurine build and ascension guide

Check out the best Light Cones and Relics for Aventurine in Honkai: Star Rail

  • Author: Marco Wutz

It’s all or nothing with the best Honkai: Star Rail Aventurine build – this 5-Star character following The Preservation and dealing Imaginary Damage has gambling inscribed in his genes. What’s a boon for you is that his effectiveness on the battlefield is basically guaranteed and any ‘gamba’ is essentially just the cherry on top.

Aventurine’s Skill, Cornerstone Deluxe, provides all allies with a shield based on his Defense for three turns. Repeating the Skill boosts the shields’ strength by up to 200%. Thanks to his Talent, Shot Loaded Right, shielded allies gain Effect Resistance and Aventurine himself gets resistant to Crowd Control debuffs. What’s more, every time Aventurine or shielded allies get attacked, he gains a stack of Blind Bet. Once he’s reached seven stacks, he’ll consume them to unleash a bouncing follow-up attack against all enemies, dealing Imaginary Damage based on his Defense.

It’s important to note that one of his Traces allows Aventurine to gain Blind Bet whenever an ally makes a follow-up attack and enables him to stack shields on everyone automatically when his own follow-up attack is triggered – needless to say, he works incredibly well with the likes of Dr. Ratio and Topaz .

Aventurine’s Ultimate, Roulette Shark, allows him to gain a random number of Blind Bet stacks between one and seven – that’s his gambling addiction shining through. It also inflicts Unnerved on a single enemy for three turns, which increases the Critical Damage allies cause against that target. Aventurine also deals Imaginary Damage based on his Defense to that enemy.

Honkai: Star Rail Aventurine screenshot.

He may be a gambler, but Aventurine guarantees that your team survives any attack.

You can squeeze even more performance from this already amazing character through his Eidolons, which are obtained by pulling additional copies. Eidolon 1 provides a massive bonus to Critical Damage dealt by allies with his shield on them and automatically shields everyone when using his Ultimate. Eidolon 2 reduces the target’s All-Type Resistance after a Basic Attack. Eidolon 4 boosts Aventurine’s Defense after his follow-up attack is triggered and increases the move’s hit count. Finally, Eidolon 6 boosts Aventurine’s own damage massively for each shielded ally on the field.

Honkai: Star Rail – Aventurine: best Light Cones

Aventurine will want a Light Cone that boosts his Defense – and anything on top of that is luxury. His signature Light Cone, Inherently Unjust Destiny , naturally offers the most luxurious package for him. Not only does it boost his Defense, it increases his Critical Hit Damage when he shields an ally and allows him to inflict a damage-multiplying debuff on enemies when using a follow-up attack against them.

Best Light Cones for Aventurine :

  • Inherently Unjust Destiny (5-Star)
  • Moment of Victory (5-Star)
  • Concert for Two (4-Star)

Aventurine's making it rain during his Ultimate.

Honkai: Star Rail – Aventurine: best Relics

Just as with his Light Cone, his Relics should boost Aventurine’s Defense – it’s his most crucial stat, since his offensive as well as shielding capabilities depend on it. In addition, Speed, Critical Damage – your bouncing follow-up will eventually land a critical hit – and defensive stats such as Effect Resistance are your priorities. Strictly speaking, you won’t even need Effect Resistance as a sub-stat, since Aventurine’s Traces provide enough of it to trigger Broken Keel anyway.

Best Relic Sets for Aventurine :

  • Knight of Purity Palace (4) – +15% Defense; +20% strength for shields created by the wearer.

Best Planar Ornaments for Aventurine :

  • Broken Keel (2) – +10% Effect Resistance; +10% Critical Hit Damage for all allies when the wearer’s Effect Resistance is 30% or higher.

Prioritize the following Relic and Planar Ornament stats for Aventurine:

  • Head – HP (Primary), Defense %, Speed, Critical Hit Damage %, Critical Hit Rate %
  • Hands – Attack (Primary), Defense %, Speed, Critical Hit Damage %, Critical Hit Rate %
  • Body – Defense % (Primary), Speed, Critical Hit Damage %, Critical Hit Rate %, Effect Resistance % or Defense
  • Feet – Speed (Primary), Defense %, Critical Hit Damage %, Critical Hit Rate %, Effect Resistance % or Defense
  • Planar Sphere – Imaginary Damage % (Primary), Defense %, Speed, Critical Hit Damage %, Critical Hit Rate %
  • Link Rope – Defense % (Primary), Speed, Critical Hit Damage %, Critical Hit Rate %, Effect Resistance % or Defense

For Aventurine, offense is not the best defense. Defense is everything.

Honkai: Star Rail – Aventurine: best teams

Aventurine is the most busted shielder in the game up to this point – apologies, Fu Xuan and Gepard. He’s a fantastic sustain for any team and will make those Preservation runs in the Simulated Universe even more bonkers.

  • Dr. Ratio (Main DPS), Topaz (Sub DPS), Ruan Mei (Support), Aventurine (Support)

As mentioned above, Aventurine is even better in a follow-up attack composition thanks to one of his Traces – which gives us the very lore-friendly team-up between him, Ratio, and Topaz. They are already a great duo thanks to their own synergy and Aventurine perfectly complements them as a defensive unit. Add any support to this composition – Ruan Mei , Bronya , Tingyun , or anyone else that comes to mind – and you’ve got a deadly party going.

He might also be a great partner for Herta in Pure Fiction, thanks to the same qualities.

Even without his Cornerstone, Aventurine has plenty to offer.

Honkai: Star Rail – Aventurine: ascension materials

Here’s everything you need to know to get Aventurine ascended to the maximum level and upgrade all of his talents.

Aventurine requires the following ascension materials to get to level 80 in addition to the necessary XP:

  • Credits x308,000
  • Tatters of Thought x15
  • Fragments of Impression x15
  • Shards of Desire x15
  • Suppressing Edict x65

You can collect Tatters of Thought, Fragments of Impression, and Shards of Desire from enemies on Penacony as well as the Simulated Universe. You can create or exchange them through the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express, too. Tatters of Thought is one of the base materials you can easily farm through the Daily Assignments to your characters, making for a steady income of the material. Suppressing Edicts are dropped by the Stagnant Shadow in the Artisanship Commission or gained through the exchange of similarly rare materials. The best source of Credits are the Golden Calyxes found on Jarilo-IV, the Xianzhou Luofu, and Penacony.

Aventurine requires the following materials to upgrade her combat abilities and Traces:

  • Credits x3,000,000
  • Tatters of Thought x41
  • Fragments of Impression x56
  • Shards of Desire x58
  • Scattered Stardust x18
  • Crystal Meteorites x69
  • Divine Amber x139
  • Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster x12
  • Tracks of Destiny x8

For the materials already mentioned, check above. Scattered Stardust and its upgraded versions can be farmed in the Crimson Calyx at Clock Studios Theme Park on Penacony. As usual, you can create the high-level materials by using lower-level materials in the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express or use Tears of Dreams as a substitute.

Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster is a boss material only gained from the Echo of War (Seclusion Zone) domain, while Tracks of Destiny can be obtained during time-limited events, the Embers Exchange, the Nameless Honor, or as a Simulated Universe Points Reward.

All the mats to get Aventurine to the top

Grabbing Honkai: Star Rail Aventurine materials keeps you in Penacony for the long haul, minus a trip back to the Luofu. The 5-star Preservation character uses a boss drop that's only used by a few other characters, a brand-new Trace material, and an ascension material you probably have plenty of, especially if you didn't get Sparkle on your team.

Our Honkai Star Rail Aventurine materials list lays out what you need for each ascension milestone and everything for his most important Traces.

If you're wondering what his most important traces are, check out our Honkai Star Rail Aventurine kit and priority explainer .

Here’s what you need hit level 80 with Aventurine.

Honkai Star Rail's Aventurine with a roulette behind him as poker chips rain down in golden sparkles

How to get Tatters of Thought, Fragments of Impression, and Shards of Desire

Tatters of Thought items and the higher-tier versions of it come from Memory Zone Meme enemies in Penacony's dream world. These include Sombrous Sepulcher, Heartbreaker, and Allseer enemies, and you can get the items from pretty much every level of Herta's Simulated Universe.

Where to find Supressing Edictf

Supressing Edict comes from the Shape of Puppetry Stagnant Shadow fight. This fight is in the Artisan Commission and features the Aurumaton Gatekeeper as your main foe. Dr Ratio and Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae are the only other characters who use this item, so you shouldn't have too much competition for it in the version 2.1 update.

The easiest way to get credits is from one of Golden Calyx. Bear in mind that these cost fuel, so you'll need to balance these challenges with your other level-up activities.

This is what all that looks like totaled up.

  • 15 Tatters of Thought
  • 15 Fragments of Impression
  • 15 Shards of Desire
  • 65 Suppressing Edict
  • 308,000 Credits

Aventurine materials for Traces

best assignment honkai star rail

Aventurine needs more Fragments of Thought items for his Traces, along with a new Preservation item set in the Scattered Stardust family .

For one Trace that isn't his basic attack, you need:

  • 9 Tatters of Thought
  • 13 Fragments of Impression
  • 7 Shards of Desire
  • 3 Scattered Stardust
  • 15 Crystal Meteorites
  • 30 Divine Amber
  • 2 Tracks of Destiny
  • 3 Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster
  • 652,000 Credits

How to get Scattered Stardust, Crystal Meteorites, and Divine Amber

The Scattered Stardust series of items is a set of Trace materials introduced in 2.1, but if you've reached the Xianzhou Luofu, you can start farming them before arriving on Penacony. On Penacony, you need to reach the Clock Theme Park to find the bud's permanent location.

How to get Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster

The only way to get Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster is from the Seclusion Zone Echo of War challenge in Herta's Space Station. It unlocks at the end of the Crown of Mundane and Divine continuance story, so if you're new to Star Rail, it'll be a while before you can access that fight. Pretty much every character since then uses these items, so they'll likely be in hot demand among your party members.

Star Rail rewards you with Tracks of Destiny in the battle pass, through completing Trailblaze missions, and for taking part in events, including version 2.1's events and the Cosmodyssey celebration.

To level up all of Aventurine's main Traces and unlock his three bonus abilities, you need:

  • 3,000,000 Credits
  • 41 Tatters of Thought
  • 56 Fragments of Impression
  • 58 Shards of Desire
  • 18 Scattered Stardust
  • 69 Crystal Meteorites
  • 139 Divine Amber
  • 12 Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster
  • 8 Tracks of Destiny

These totals include Aventurine's bonus Traces and basic attack, though you're pretty safe not leveling up his basic attack until the others are sorted or at all. Bear in mind you'll need more to activate his other Traces - the stat boosts and such

If you're not sure who else might work with all these skills you just leveled up, check out our Honkai Star Rail tier list , and head over to our Star Rail codes page for some freebies to help with your next pull.
