Issue with Slide Transitions in Presentation

I am reaching out to address an issue I've been encountering with the slides I've created. Currently, I am working on a presentation, in Microsoft PowerPoint, where I have incorporated clip art onto the slides. However, when I proceed to the next slide, it remains visible for less than 5 seconds before automatically jumping back to the previous slide until it reaches the beginning slide again.

I've reviewed my presentation settings and confirmed that I haven't programmed any transitions or animations to the slides. Despite this, the problem persists.

Could you please provide some guidance or assistance on how I can resolve this issue? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Takashi Murakami has announced a new footwear venture that will make its debut with slides in the shape of his signature flower motif.

The Japanese artist made the announcement for the new enterprise, the name of which has yet to be revealed, Wednesday night on Instagram Live. However, Murakami did announce the name of the first silhouette, the Ohana Full-Bloom, and that it will be shown this weekend at Complex Con Hong Kong.

In addition to the Ohana Full-Bloom, Murakami revealed a number of other silhouettes riffing on his flower mark. Because Murakami was streaming from a factory, it’s not clear what was merely a sample and what may go on to release later. Other colorways for the Ohana Full-Bloom could also be seen among the footwear.

Murakami has long been a fixture in the streetwear and sneaker scene, in part because of his relationship with the likes of Kanye West, now known as Ye, and Pharrell. His flower plush pillows have become a ubiquitous site among streetwear enthusiasts, with his crossover appeal akin to that of Kaws.

Following the in-person reveal at Complex Con, Murakami’s Ohana Full-Bloom slide in “Island Green” will release April 4 through Complex’s webstore. Pricing is set at $120.

More is more when it comes to AI. The more data AI systems are trained on, the more powerful they will be. But as the AI arms race heats up, tech giants like Meta, Google, and OpenAI face a problem: They're running out of data to train their models.

Many leading AI systems have been trained on the vast supply of online data. But by 2026, all the high-quality data could be exhausted, according to Epoch , an AI research institute.

So major tech companies are searching for new data sources to keep their systems learning. Here's a look at some of the most creative options that tech companies are considering.

Google considered tapping consumer data available in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

Last summer, the legal department at Google began asking employees to broaden the language around using consumer data, the Times reported. Some employees were informed that the company wanted to use data from the free consumer versions of Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and even the restaurant reviews on Google Maps.

While Google updated its privacy policy in July 2023, the company says it didn't expand the types of data it uses to train AI models.

Splurging on the publishing house, Simon & Schuster.

At Meta, the waning supply of usable data concerned executives so much they met almost daily in March and April last year to brainstorm alternatives, the Times reported.

One idea floated at these meetings was to buy Simon & Schuster. The famed publishing house has worked with authors like Stephen King and Jennifer Weiner and was purchased by private equity firm KKR for $1.62 billion last year.

Other attendees suggested a more budget-friendly option of paying $10 a book to obtain the full licensing rights to new titles.

Generating synthetic data

Synthetic data is data generated by AI systems, and OpenAI has considered it an option for its models.

"As long as you can get over the synthetic data event horizon, where the model is smart enough to make good synthetic data, everything will be fine," OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said at a tech conference last May, according to the Times.

The issue with training AI systems on synthetic data is that it can reinforce some of the mistakes and limitations of AI, the Times reported. OpenAI is working on a process to address this in which one AI system produces data, and another AI system judges it.

Whisper, a speech recognition tool that translates YouTube videos

OpenAI has also built Whisper, a speech recognition tool that can translate YouTube videos and podcasts. Its latest large language model, GPT-4 , has been trained on over one million hours of YouTube videos transcribed by Whisper.

OpenAI's president, Greg Brockman, was a key developer of Whisper and told the Times that OpenAI relies on "numerous sources" of data for its systems.

Photobucket: A treasure trove of photos from Myspace and Friendster

Photobucket was once "the world's top image-hosting site" and accounted for nearly half of the US online photo market, according to Reuters . Part of that was because it hosted photos for early social media sites like Myspace and Friendster.

Its database of pictures might now soon be licensed to tech companies for training their AI systems, Reuters reported. Photobucket declined to identify prospective buyers to Reuters.

On February 28, Axel Springer, Business Insider's parent company, joined 31 other media groups and filed a $2.3 billion suit against Google in Dutch court, alleging losses suffered due to the company's advertising practices.

Axel Springer, Business Insider's parent company, has a global deal to allow OpenAI to train its models on its media brands' reporting.

Tesla stock slides 7% after big 1st-quarter delivery miss

• Tesla stock fell as much as 7% on Tuesday after reporting first-quarter deliveries that fell far short of expectations.
• Tesla said it delivered 386,810 vehicles in the first quarter, well below the consensus Wall Street forecast of nearly 450,000.
• Wedbush analyst Dan Ives said factory shutdowns in Germany and soft demand in China contributed to the miss.

Tesla stock dropped as much as 7% on Tuesday after the company reported weaker than expected vehicle deliveries for the first quarter.

Tesla delivered 386,810 vehicles in the first quarter, which was well below Wall Street estimates of 449,080, according to data from Bloomberg. The decline represented Tesla's first year-over-year sales drop since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

The first quarter results represent a year-over-year decline of 9% and a 20% decline from its recent fourth quarter vehicle sales of 484,507. 

Expectations for Tesla's vehicle deliveries were already declining heading into the report, as concerns have grown surrounding weak demand in China, factory shutdowns in Germany , and soaring demand for one of Tesla's biggest competitors: plug-in hybrids.

"Let's call this as it is: While we were anticipating a bad 1Q, this was an unmitigated disaster 1Q that is hard to explain away," Wedbush analyst Dan Ives said in a Tuesday note. "We view this as a seminal moment in the Tesla story for Musk to either turn this around and reverse the black eye 1Q performance. Otherwise, some darker days could clearly be ahead that could disrupt the long-term Tesla narrative."

Tesla's stock decline on Tuesday extends an already painful start to 2024 and a continued decline from its peak in 2021. The stock is down 33% year-to-date, and is down 60% from its record high of just over $400 per share.

Ives said that on top of the vehicle delivery miss, investor patience may be starting to wear thin for Tesla and Elon Musk.

"While Tesla right now is caught between "two waves of growth" patience is starting to wear very thin among investors. This is being exacerbated by the Musk AI outside of Tesla chatter, Board issues, Delaware Musk comp void, and now a likely move to incorporate in Texas," Ives said.

Ives said Wall Street criticism on Tesla "is warranted" as its profit margins have yet to rebound significantly due to "a horror show" in China and increased competition. 

"For Musk, this is a fork in the road time to get Tesla through this turbulent period otherwise troubling days could be ahead," Ives said.
