About Speech on Success

Success is not something which we achieve in a day or year as it is a process of achieving your goals and feeling good about yourself. The definition of success changes from one individual to another. For some success could be doing your dream job, having a car or it could just be marrying a person you love the most. The definition of success changes and it is not the same for everyone.

Everyone around the world is running behind success as it is believed that success would solve all problems. Is success the same for everyone? and will successfully solve all the problems? and what elements will help in making a person successful? All the answers to the questions are given below in the speech on success. Students can refer to these speeches on success and try to understand the important elements required to be successful in life.

Here we have provided a long and short speech on success and along with that we have also given 10 line pointers about the motivational speech on success in English.

The road to success does not happen overnight. Whether they are large or small, your everyday actions, activities, and encounters ultimately determine your success. Success comes when persistence and hard work are combined. Only perseverance and commitment can lead to success.

As a group, we understood that we could not achieve something without giving up something. Success demands a similar amount of sacrifice. Anyhow, you'll be able to accomplish your goal if you perform these penances. In any case, many people achieve success. The result is however that they fall behind in terms of achieving mental, social, and physical success. A lack of success in different areas causes them to become separated. It has sometimes happened that individuals have become so fixated on success that those around them find themselves feeling awkward around them. There have been times when they have gone frantic. Aside from that, if one is not making progress as fast as others, they can become discouraged. With this in mind, we can conclude that success has been severely damaged.

Long Speech on Success in English

Good morning to everyone present today. I feel humbled that I was allowed to give a speech on success. I hope everyone learns new things and your definition of success changes.

So what is success? and why is everyone running after it? We live in a period where everyone wants to be successful. They want to accomplish something in their life. It could be to get the dream job or get good grades on the exams. The point which I want to prove is that the definition of success changes from one person to another. The person sitting next to you will have a completely different view of success compared to you so there is no definite definition of success for everyone around the world.

But success could be simply defined as the satisfaction one gets after accomplishing the goals. Let us take the example of the students sitting here and we all know that every student in school aspires and aims to be successful in school. Being successful in academics and getting good grades is the dream of every student. They need to do it to achieve their goals and be successful in life.

Students let me tell you the road to success is not easy and if was easy everyone would have been successful. Success is also not achieved in a day or a night. It is a long steady process that requires hard work, commitment, and sacrifice.

Students let me tell you that the amount of success a person achieves is directly related to the number of things that person has sacrificed in life. I want you all to understand this concept of sacrifice because it is required for you to become successful. I truly believe that if you are not ready to sacrifice the things that are dearest to your heart, you won’t achieve anything in life. I don’t mean that sacrificing things such as not even food or playing, those activities are required for the proper functioning of your brain. Not playing video games or watching television is the sacrifice you have to make if you want to get good grades in school. You can do fun activities when you are free and not when your examinations are approaching. It is very important to invest your time in studying when needed.

The next important thing that one should have to be successful in life is a firm blueprint to accomplish your goals. Students should plan accordingly to reach their goals and accomplish wonders. Blueprint is required and the first step in making a blueprint is to invest your time in your goals which could be done by preparing a good timetable. Students as we all know lost money could be earned back in the future but the time lost cannot be gained back. Time is the most valuable asset of anyone’s life and it is very important to figure out how to invest it and on whom we should invest it. Investing your time to develop a new skill and cultivate it in the future is what most successful people do. You might have heard about Elon Musk. He is the world’s richest person and people think he is the richest because he has money, the answer is no, he is the richest because of the goals he has accomplished throughout his life.20 years back he had invested his time in learning new skills and inventing new things and the time he invested back then has given him the status of the world richest man today. All I want to say to all the students present here is they do dream about a good life, do dream about a goal or a job that will settle your but it is also required that you have to work on that, you have to water it every day so that it will yield you the success you want in the future.

Students to be successful you have to go through failure. Facing failure fearlessly is required if you want to achieve your goals. Many people don’t take risks because they fear failure and those are the people who never become successful in life. Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Mukesh Ambani, and many more are known for taking risks in life. What would have happened if Mukesh Ambani did not take the risk of introducing the Jio 4G network? We could still be using other networks and mostly our online learning could have been affected. Students, what I am trying to say is that taking a risk in life is very important and you may encounter failures. Facing failures is important as something that is the only thing that guides us through our journey to success. Do not be afraid of failure and always remember that when you fail forward and learn from it.

To conclude this speech I want to say that Success plays an important role in a person’s life. It is very important to be successful if you want to be recognized by the world but keep in mind that success is not the final stage of your life, it won’t solve all of your problems. We often hear that many people take success too seriously and have mental health issues like anxiety and depression. Having a goal in your mind and working towards it is very important but it does not mean being too serious about it. Work on the process of becoming successful rather than running after it. Spend time with your family and friends while you are working on your goals and please enjoy life I am successful with time. Success will come to you if you have invested your time in it.

Thank you.

Short Speech on Success in English

Good morning to everyone present here today. I feel honored to be allowed to give a small speech about success in school. I hope this speech helps you in understanding what success means.

Success does not have a definite definition as it varies from one person to another. Success could be simply defined as the satisfaction a person gets by achieving his or her goal. Success does not come without any problems as the road to success is filled with many hurdles. To achieve success one needs to be determined in life and have a plan to accomplish that goal.

Success is directly proportional to the amount of hard work and the time you have invested in achieving that goal. hard work here to work physically which makes you tired but it just means that you have to prioritize important things that will make you successful and work towards it. Failure is the most important step in achieving your goals. Many of us fear as we think that it will not make us successful but sometimes failing is important as it helps in determining your path. Imagine what would have happened if Thomas Edison hesitated while he worked on discovering light? the world would have still been dark. Don’t fear failure, face it as it will help in achieving success.

To conclude this speech I want to say that the three most important things required for a person to be successful are Hard Work, failure, and having a timetable. Most successful people are very good at managing their time and it is required that if you want to succeed in life you also have to learn the skill of time management. Lastly do not take success too seriously as it will affect your health and the relationships around you. Work on the process of achieving your goal and I will be successful in life. Thank you.

FAQs on Speech on Success

1. What's the definition of success in life?

It is possible for your definition of what success means to change; however, most people describe it as being content, upbeat, sheltered, well-constructed, and cherished. You need to be able to achieve your objectives whatever they may be in daily life. Success in life means that a person can attain what he/she has desired throughout their entire life. Your ambitions, dreams, and aspirations about how you want your life will determine how successful you are. You already have a successful life if you are proud of everything you have accomplished.

2. What is Success according to you?

For those of you who haven't decided what success means to them, there is an exercise you can try: Take 15 minutes and write words, symbols, or pictures that describe what success is for you. If you are struggling with ideas of success, you could focus on your immediate aims or near-term goals. If you start documenting a successful life for yourself, you might be inspired to examine the whole of your life. Here are some questions you might ask yourself:

How does happiness make me feel?

Is there any area in my life where I have already succeeded?

How can I apply that experience?

Did I learn anything from my failures?

What is my role model?

Which is the most important thing to me?

And how will I remember myself?

Our daily engagements and energizing activities are much better measures of success.

Natural abilities are often what motivate and engage us in the very activities that energise us.

Manage a team or grow a business if you have strong influencing or relationship skills. Maybe you thrive on solving complex problems, developing strategies, and developing visions. You're inspired by new ideas and produce your best work when you have time to think and reflect. However, deadlines and multiple projects also feel like an adrenaline rush to you.

3. Is success the only thing that matters?

It is not success that makes us happy. Often, society defines happiness as how much success you can achieve. We are extremely focused on creating success as a society. The concept that happiness results from success have become intoxicating:

I would be delighted to get promoted.

Success will make me happy.

My success will be measured by the factor of 12 increase in the share price of my company

and therefore, I will be pleased

All of these assumptions are false. Achieving success does not guarantee happiness. Success is a relative concept in everything that we do: the more successful we become, the higher the bar for defining success, making achievement more difficult.

The good news is that this is great for business, but if it's what determines your happiness, you'll end up unhappy. Big numbers always make people unhappy.

Although the difficulty level increases as the bar are next raised, the level of happiness remains unchanged.

4. How does success hurt us?

It is common knowledge that one cannot achieve something without sacrificing something. To achieve success, one has to sacrifice a variety of things. Even though these sacrifices may seem futile, they will not be in vain if you achieve your goal. Yes, many people become successful in their field but fail to achieve success in their mental, social, and physical lives. The tension of not being successful elsewhere is what draws them apart.

Oftentimes, people become obsessed with success to the point that the people around them become uncomfortable around them. This is sometimes considered madness. In addition to this, people get depressed if they do not succeed like other people. Therefore, success comes with a lot of disadvantages.

 5. Does hard work correlate with Success?

Even though it may sound unfit to some people, hard work is essential to success. Success cannot be achieved without hard work. Laborious and sweaty work does not constitute hard work. A healthy body, a strong mind, willpower, and a positive mindset are all elements of hard work. You need the energy to achieve all of those things. Take care of yourself physically and emotionally. You should also do more than just work on your program, push yourself to the limit, take responsibility for other things, and improve your skills. Apart from that, you should associate with positive people, develop positive habits, and continue exercising for both the body and your mind.

Essentially, we can say that success is like a seed that needs a balanced proportion of all its components. Success can never be achieved in a day; one must undergo and deal with different conditions in life to achieve success. When you achieve your goal, you are feeling a sense of fulfilment, which is called success.

16 Motivational Speeches On Success To Turn Your Life Around

There is always a moment of truth in our lives when we suddenly realize that things aren’t really going the way we planned. We don’t have our dream car, we still haven’t bought a house and are stuck in a dead-end job that pays low and gives you no time to breathe. You realize you have hit absolute rock bottom and nothing is the way it should be. Well, that’s brilliant! No, but seriously. It might sound like a clichĂ© when we say this but if you really have hit rock bottom, the only way left is up. But if you still are not quite convinced, these motivational speeches on success should help you to get up, brush yourself and start building again:

1. Steve Jobs’ Speech at Stanford’s 2005 Commencement

“
I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So, I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn’t interest me and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.”

A year after he was first diagnosed with cancer, Jobs gave this speech at Stanford. His point here is simple and he uses simpler words, stories to explain it. Our time here is limited, he points out, so we must struggle to make the most of it. If we don’t, we might forever end up regretting it.

2. Bill Gates’ Harvard Commencement Speech

“I’ve been waiting more than 30 years to say this: ‘Dad, I always told you I’d come back and get my degree’”, he says.

This is interesting because, as we all know, Gates never did get his degree but might easily be one of the most successful of everyone who has ever walked the hallowed halls.

This drives home a point. Education might be a privilege that not many of us may have been able to partake of. However, it is not always education that determines success but our will to do something important.

3. Sheryl Sandberg’s Harvard Business School Class Day Speech

Success doesn’t come easily even for successful people, like Sheryl Sandberg. There are moments of doubts that you’ll have to take your chances with. Sandberg says:

“After a while I had a few offers and I had to make a decision, so what did I do? I am MBA trained, so I made a spreadsheet. I listed my jobs in the columns and my criteria in the rows.  One of the jobs on that sheet was to become Google’s first Business Unit general manager, which sounds good now, but at the time no one thought consumer internet companies could ever make money. I was not sure there was actually a job there at all; Google had no business units, so what was there to generally manage? And the job was several levels lower than jobs I was being offered at other companies.”

4. Al Pacino’s speech in Any Given Sunday

Sure, this one is from a movie and, to be more precise, about football, but that does not mean that every word that Al Pacino so beautifully states does not shake one to their core.

He goes, “
In either game, life or football the margin for error is so small. I mean one-half step too late or too early you don’t quite make it. One-half second too slow or too fast and you don’t quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They are in every break of the game, every minute, every second.”

After all, what is life if not a game of football? You run, you practise, you fight and you may as well beat the odds to reach your goal . In every step of the way, there will be someone who tries to stop you. But only when you kick past them, do you win.

5. Joanne K. Rowling’s speech at Harvard’s Commencement

Everyone knows the story of how 12 publishers rejected Harry Potter before Bloomsbury finally agreed to publish it. Rowling was a struggling single mother at that time. She, like many of us, felt that this might be the end, this is what we are stuck with forever. But she is living proof that things do not have to be that way. Yes, we are struggling now, but the light at the end of the tunnel might be closer than you think.

She says, “I have asked myself what I wish I had known at my own graduation, and what important lessons I have learned in the 21 years that have expired between that day and this.

I have come up with two answers. On this wonderful day when we are gathered together to celebrate your academic success, I have decided to talk to you about the benefits of failure. And as you stand on the threshold of what is sometimes called ‘real life’, I want to extol the crucial importance of imagination.”

6. Oprah Winfrey’s Commencement Speech at Harvard

“This too shall pass”, goes Oprah as she addressed the Harvard graduates of 2013. She lists a hundred trials she had to go through before the little girl from rural Mississippi made it up to that stage.

“
as I was in the shower the words of an old hymn came to me. You may not know it. It’s ‘By and by, when the morning comes.’ And I started thinking about when the morning might come because at the time I thought I was stuck in a hole.” And she turned things around indeed.

7. Neil Gaiman’s Commencement Speech at University of the Arts

“Life is sometimes hard. Things go wrong, in life and in love and in business and in friendship and in health and in all the other ways that life can go wrong. And when things get tough, this is what you should do. Make good art.”

Neil Gaiman’s awe-inspiring speech has gone on to inspire people and, even over half a decade after he originally delivered, it continues to influence and encourage one to do what one loves, and not just for the money.

8. Ellen DeGeneres’ Tulane University Commencement Speech

Funny Ellen DeGeneres may look a bubble of happiness but she never had it easy. She says in her commencement speech at Tulane University:

“ Really when I look back on it, I wouldn’t change a thing. I mean, it was so important for me to lose everything because I found out what the most important thing is, is to be true to yourself. Ultimately, that’s what’s gotten me to this place. I don’t live in fear, I’m free; I have no secrets and I know I’ll always be OK, because no matter what, I know who I am.”

The key to success is to learn from your mistakes, experiences and use them as leverage to charge forward. But most important of all is to trust yourself to do it.

9.  Will Smith’s Speech from The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

“ Hey. Don’t ever let somebody tell you, you can’t do something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream? You gotta protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you you can’t do it. You want something? Go get it! Period!”

That’s all there is to it. What you want is within your power. All you have to do is reach out and grab it.

10. Jim Carrey’s Speech at MUM’s Commencement

“
You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.”

This is perhaps the greatest takeaway from Jim Carrey’s beautifully inspiring yet strangely witty speech at the 2014 MUM commencement. There is not much that can be added to what he has already established in that one sentence, so let’s skip and watch the man.

11. Les Brown’s Georgia Dome Speech

Who doesn’t know Leslie Calvin “Les” Brown and his inspirational lessons to the masses. When he speaks, it’s mesmerizing, like in this motivational speech at Georgia Dome:

“ See, sometimes we can’t say I can do that. But what we can say that it’s possible, that I can have my dream, as we run toward it, as we work on it day-in and day-out. No one, ladies and gentlemen, could have convinced me when I started out just over six years ago, working on my dream. And I want you to think about whatever your dream is, because I was willing to take a chance, and most people won’t do that. Most of the people that you talk to, to try and bring them into the business, these are not risk-takers. Most people have done all that they’re ever going to do. They raise a family, they earn a living and then they die. But people who are running toward their dreams life has a special kind of meaning.”

Ask yourself, what is your dream, and pursue it.

 12. Denzel Washington’s “Fall Forward” Motivational Speech

“ I’ve found that nothing in life is worthwhile unless you take risks. Nothing.

I’m sure in your experiences—in school
 in applying to college
 in picking your major
in deciding what you want to do with life—people have told you to make sure you have something to “fall back on.” But I’ve never understood that concept, having something to fall back on. If I’m going to fall, I don’t want to fall back on anything, except my faith. I want to fall
 forward.”

What we learn from this charismatic actor is that when you have faith in what you do, you don’t need to be afraid of falling forward or backward. You only have confidence to move forward.

13. Elizabeth Gilbert Ted Talk on “Your Elusive Creative Genius”

“
people would say, ‘Aren’t you afraid you’re never going to have any success? Aren’t you afraid the humiliation of rejection will kill you? Aren’t you afraid that you’re going to work your whole life at this craft and nothing’s ever going to come of it and you’re going to die on a scrap heap of broken dreams with your mouth filled with bitter ash of failure?'”

And her answer will surprise you. This successful author has a twisted idea that everyone is a genius. Genius people are not out of this world; they’re pretty much every other person. You just have to discover your talent in yourself.

14. Charlie Day’s Merrimack College Commencement Speech

“Well, I’ve always had a half-baked philosophy that having plan B can muddy up your plan A. I didn’t take the job. I moved to the city. I bussed tables and answered phones. I lived in a basement apartment next to a garbage chute. The apartment was filled with cockroaches. I couldn’t have made a better decision. Well maybe not the cockroach part. I should have found a different apartment. You’ll find better apartments. Just avoid the trash area.”

Day’s motivational speech makes us question our decisions, the wisdom used in making them and the results of those decisions. At the end of the day, success lies in your hand .

15. Kal Penn’s DePauw University Commencement Speech

“ You obviously know you have the power to do good things in this world. That’s no ground-breaking, sage commencement advice
and I’m not just referring to just say going out and doing good things like doing well in business or making a million dollars or making it rain at the club.”

The powe r to succe ed i s nothing compared to do good. While you contemplate on success always think about doing good along the way too. This is Penn’s message in the motivational speech he delivered at DePauw University.

16. Meryl Streep’s Bernard Commencement Speech

Success may sound like an elusive idea but it’s not actually. You don’t have to rely on successful people to learn from them. Instead, you just need to reach inside and find your own version. Streep says:

“If you have been touched by the success fairy, people think you know why. People think success breeds enlightenment and you are duty bound to spread it around like manure, fertilize those young minds, let them in on the secret, what is it that you know that no one else knows, the self-examination begins, one looks inward, one opens an interior door. Cobwebs, black, the lights bulbs burned out, the airless dank refrigerator of an insanely over-scheduled, unexamined life that usually just gets take-out.”

The 24 Best Motivational Speeches Our Employees Have Ever Heard

Published: July 19, 2023

It was halftime during one of my 7th-grade football games. And we were losing 14 - 0. With our knees planted in the grass, my team was quietly huddled, drenched in sweat and defeat. Suddenly, it was game over.

A woman listens to motivational speeches through her headphones

That's when our assistant coach burst into our circle and shattered our pity party, delivering one of the best motivational speeches I've heard to this day.

I can't directly quote him because he said some inappropriate things for a blog post (and, in hindsight, probably for a bunch of 13-year-olds too).

The point is he harnessed the power of words to rejuvenate a physically and emotionally drained team. And we came back clawing to win the game.

Motivational Speech

A motivational speech can come from anywhere or anyone, but it usually has a specific audience in mind.

Whether it's a graduation speech, an all-company meeting, a championship sporting event, or a conference keynote, these speeches are designed to change how their listeners see the challenges facing them in the future.

Like in sports, being motivated at work is crucial for your performance. This rings especially true when you have a looming deadline, an important meeting, or colleagues or customers depending on your performance.

Think about the last time you felt generally unmotivated. What brought you out of that feeling? Sometimes all it takes to get you going is a good night's sleep or witnessing the benefits of your labor.

Still, other times, you might listen to someone say something that resonates with you — that alters how you've been looking at a particular task or problem.

Motivational speeches and speakers can come in all different forms, but this is the one thing they have in common — resonance. They resonate with the right listener at the right time and in the right way.

Who knows, this article is doing some for you right now. (I can dream, can't I?)

We selected 24 of the best motivational speeches from business, sports, entertainment, and other fields to help you stay motivated no matter what your work throws at you. Watch these videos if you want to feel inspired by a project.

Trust me, I was wiping my eyes after I saw them. And while the messages vary from speech to speech, they can put you in the optimal frame of mind for tackling and crushing your next big challenge.

By recognizing the importance of sleep, people and businesses can enhance their health, productivity, and general well-being.

“We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.”

Jim Carrey might make a living as the goofiest comedian around, but in 2014, he combined classic Carrey humor with unforgettable insight at Maharishi University of Management's graduation ceremony.

Jim Carrey opened his speech dishing punchlines, but he eventually opened up about his upbringing and the role fear plays in our lives. You can actually hear the amazement in the students' reactions in the video above.

“Fall forward. Here's what I mean: Reggie Jackson struck out twenty-six-hundred times in his career — the most in the history of baseball. But you don't hear about the strikeouts. People remember the home runs.

“If you're automatically sure that you know what reality is and who and what is really important, if you want to operate on your default setting, then you, like me, probably won't consider possibilities that aren't annoying and miserable.

18. al pacino: "inch by inch" (1999), theme of speech: teamwork.

Yes, this speech is from a football movie (Any Given Sunday), but trust me: This isn't your stereotypical rah-rah-go-get-'em sports speech. It's deeper than that. It's about life, and loss, and ... gosh darn it just listen to Al Pacino.

He's pouring his soul out!

“Either we heal as a team or we're gonna crumble, inch by inch, play by play, till we're finished. We're in hell right now, gentlemen, believe me.

And we can stay here and get the $&#@ kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell, one inch at a time.”

20. Sylvester Stallone: Speech from Rocky Balboa (2006)

Theme of speech: never give up.

I had to put this one next since it plays along the same themes as Denzel Washington's UPenn speech. In the scene above, from the 2006 film Rocky Balboa, the title character (played by Sylvester Stallone) is having a heart-to-heart with his son.

The advice he gives him: Don't let your failures or the adversity you face slow you down. Keep. Moving. Forward.

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!”

“Don't ever let somebody tell you ... you can't do something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream. You gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they want to tell you can't do it. If you want something, go get it. Period.”

22. Mel Robbins: "The 5 Second Rule" (2020)

24. Kurt Russell: “This is Your Time” (2004)

Theme of speech: inspiring and believing in your team.

The Miracle on Ice is still considered the biggest upset in Olympic hockey history. And for good reason. The Soviet Union won six of the last seven Olympic gold medals, and the U.S. team consisted only of amateur players.

It was obvious the Soviets were better. But, in the movie Miracle, which told the incredible story of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team, Kurt Russell's character — Coach Herb Brooks — knew that this game was different.

The U.S. was better than the Soviets that day. And his speech conveyed such a strong belief in his team that they pulled off one of the greatest sports moments of the 20th century.

“If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game
Not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can!

Tonight, WE are the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born to be hockey players, every one of you. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time.”

Success Is A Journey Not A Destination Inspirational Speech

Success is a journey not a destination inspirational speech ft. jesse daley.

Transcript: Success Is A Journey Not A Destination Inspirational Speech It is often said that success occurs when preparation meets opportunity. Now, opportunities will undoubtedly present themselves with time, but how are you treating yourself through all of the time spent in preparation for accomplishing your goals in the meantime?

Are you giving yourself credit for the work and the energy that it takes to become a more successful individual?

A major aspect of the success equation has to do with being GOOD to yourself. Treating yourself with kindness and encouragement along your life journey. It’s important to celebrate all victories large and small on the journey toward fulfilling your dreams

It all begins with recognizing that you are a successful individual RIGHT NOW, and your successes can only go up from here.

Guys and girls: Simply having the determination to pursue your happiness, your goals and your dreams is a massive success in itself.

It takes an incredible amount of courage to wake up every morning and keep moving and keep motivating yourself to work toward the life that you’ve always imagined living.

The preparation part of the success equation, your journey, should be celebrated, for success is not simply a destination. Success is not something that we ARRIVE at one day. Success has everything to do with your individual day to day choices, actions and experiences. No matter how big or small they are.

Success has to do with being true to who YOU are and how you choose to respond to every circumstance that occurs in your life.

Remember that feeling successful has much to do with how you personally define success.

So ask yourself: How do you define success? For example: Do you define success as having MORE in your life. More money, more recognition, more material items. Do you define success according to other people’s standards? Or do you define success as feeling HAPPY with who YOU are. Being happy with YOUR choices and being GRATEFUL for all that you have in your life today

Aim to shift your focus from thinking of success as being something that is always out of your reach or something which involves constantly wanting or needing more or keeping up with other people. And focus instead on being grateful and happy for who YOU are and what you have RIGHT NOW And there’s so much to be grateful for, isn’t there?

Whatever it is you might be going through right now regardless of how challenging it may be there is always much to be thankful for.

Be grateful for who YOU are and fully appreciate your individuality and all that you have in your life now. Do the very best that you can with what you have NOW, while at the same time striving toward becoming an even better version of yourself than you were yesterday.

HAVE FAITH and always believe that you will achieve anything you set out to do.

You are a MIRACLE, my friend. There’s no one else out there like you. Start to view yourself and your world today as being MIRACULOUS and TRUST that you will create anything you set out to do.

Albert Einstein said:

“There are only two ways to live your life One is as though NOTHING is a miracle The other is as though EVERYTHING is a miracle”

How do you want to live YOUR life?

No matter what is thrown at you in life, you can use these speeches to stay motivated.

How Inspiration Impacts People

Inspiration helps propel people forward. It pushes apathy away and awakens people to new and exciting possibilities. They're able to transcend their limitations and mundane lives.

It can help all people to become more creative and help them to progress toward their goals if they are open to it.

Although inspiration impacts people in several meaningful and often magical ways, it is not something as elusive as it seems. Inspiration is everywhere, and it can be captured, activated, and manipulated.

Most often, inspiration is found in others who say something or do something thought provoking and meaningful.

What Makes a Speech Inspirational?

Great inspirational speeches all include one key thing – emotions . Emotions motivate actions and beliefs in any given aspect of life. Inspirational speeches are often loaded with tales of struggle, resilience, trials, endurance, and breakthroughs. All things that most people can relate to.

The philosopher, Aristotle, once said that people tend to believe in people who can be perceived as trustworthy or in those who have proper values and morals. This means that speakers who understand the concerns their audience has and empathizes with them are more likely to connect with their audience and gain their trust.

Speakers who select emotional themes and talking points that people can relate to are more likely to inspire those in the audience with their stories.

The key to this is making others feel as though they aren’t alone, and that they too can overcome the roadblocks in their way because someone else has. Hope is one of the most powerful emotions that sparks inspiration.

Next, comes an excellent oral delivery. Facial expressions, tone of voice, and appropriate pausing all help to make a speech that much more effective and inspirational.

7 Qualities of the Best Motivational Speakers

Here are seven traits, qualities, and characteristics that some of the best motivational speakers have.

1. They Tell Great Stories.

The ability to tell a great story is one of the core qualities that a motivational speaker needs to help add value to the lives of listeners. Motivational speakers tell original stories to provide the audience with fresh and relevant information.

More importantly, the best motivational speakers paint a picture that lets the audience put themselves into the story so they can feel the emotions to understand the lesson better.

2. They Are Passionate About What They Do.

Great speakers are often passionate about wanting to change others for the better, and the amount of passion a speaker has translates into their presentation. Passion is infectious, and when a great speaker is passionate, it inspires the audience to cultivate passion as well.

3. They Are Confident.

It is essential that motivational speakers have confidence in themselves and in their message.

This helps them tailor their speech to appeal to and inspire their audience. Empathetic speakers are also individuals who have gone through what they talk about.

They have been where the audience is, and they understand what that is like, which helps make a pure connection with them.

It’s all very well reading about ways to get ahead in life, but no account will ever reach you in quite the same way as hearing someone speak about their own experiences. While these people may be household names now, it wasn’t always that way, and this collection of some of the best motivational speeches will move you and inspire you to make your own dreams come true.

16 Most Life-Changing Motivational Speeches and What You’ll Gain From Them

From Arnold Schwarzenneger talking about how he filled every moment of every day with steps to fulfil his ambition of becoming Mr. Universe, to J.K. Rowling’s life as an impoverished single mother, these speeches will fill you with the drive and determination to reach your full potential, and not let anything stand in your way.

Some are long, and some last just a few minutes, but each one will make you want to grab life with both hands and go for what you want, whatever it is.

success speech

“Most people have done all that they’re ever going to do – they raise a family, they earn a living, and then they die.”

That’s what we’re supposed to do, right? Wrong! Life is made for greater things, and you are meant for greater things.

When Les Brown was a child, he was labeled ‘educable mentally retarded’, and until a chance encounter with another teacher, he believed that he would amount to nothing. But this one teacher planted the seeds in Les’ head which would blossom and grow, and eventually make him one of the best motivational speakers of all time.

This speech will give you permission to rise above other people’s opinions, to break free of their prejudices, and make a success of whatever you do. Watch ‘It’s Not Over Until You Win! Your Dream is Possible’ and take those first steps towards following your passion and making your dream come true.

“Stress doesn’t come from the facts, stress comes from the meaning that we give the facts.”

Life is about choices. Every day we’re faced with hundreds of choices, and this speech by Tony Robbins will help you see that it’s the choices, not the conditions, which shape our lives.

Take a moment during this speech to pause and reflect on some choices you have made in the past, and really think about the direction your life took because of them, both good and bad. Tony Robbins explains in his inimitable way that we have the choice to focus on what we want, and that when we focus, we can achieve whatever we want.

Part of Tony’s speech explains how, when the economy is down, some people thrive and some people crash and burn, and the COVID 19 pandemic is the perfect example. Small businesses took a huge hit, and while some of them threw up their hands in despair and said ‘that’s it, it’s over for us’, others adapted, and saw it as an opportunity to expand, diversify, and turn the situation to their advantage.

And that’s the cornerstone of this video – how we react, how we adapt, and how we choose is the difference between success and failure.

“So every rep that I do gets me closer to accomplishing the goal to make this goal – this vision – into reality.”

Be inspired by Arnold Schwarzenneger as he talks about his goal of becoming Mr. Universe. Never wasting a second of his day, Arnie worked in construction, spent 5 hours in the gym, and went to acting classes, all of which took him further along his journey to making his dream come true.

We all have a propensity to waste time, but if you have a goal, if you have a passion that smolders away, take a leaf out of Arnie’s book and make sure that everything you do propels you forward.

And don’t be afraid to fail.

“Your conviction and your convenience don’t live on the same block.”

If you are a fan of The Secret, you will be familiar with Lisa Nicholls. In this video, Lisa tells Tom Bilyeu how she was willing to leave everything and everyone behind in order to grow into the version of herself that she knew she wanted.

Lisa explains how, as a young mother, she was forced to wrap her baby in a towel for two days because she had no money for diapers, and how it was at that moment that she vowed never to be that broke or that broken again.

Change, success, drive
they’re all inconvenient and disruptive, and Lisa Nicholls demonstrates that wonderfully in this emotional and highly motivating interview in which she declares “your story is not meant to be your fortress, your story is meant to be your fuel.”

Eric Thomas had a dream, a goal, and that goal was to be the best motivational speaker in the world. He didn’t achieve this by giving 70%, or 80%
he didn’t achieve it by staying in bed late in the mornings. He achieved it by giving 100% every minute of every day.

Listen to Eric’s words, hear the passion in his voice, and feel the lessons he is giving to you if you want to be the best at whatever you do.

“If we don’t take control of our environment, it takes control of us.”

This short piece by Tony Robbins has been designed to show you that you are in control of your own environment. Whether you realize it or not, what goes on around you has a massive influence on the way you feel and the way you act.

By taking leadership of your own life, you can defy outside influences and set your own tone for the day ahead, regardless of whatever or whoever is exerting pressure from the outside.

Follow Tony’s example of taking 10 minutes for yourself at the start of every day – for gratitude, prayer or wishes for family and friends, and a recap of what you want to accomplish that day, and your day will continue on that same path of thankfulness, hope, and goals.

“Your mind doesn’t know the difference between something you vividly imagined and something that’s real, literally!”

If you want to emulate the way successful people behave, take these 10 billionaires’ habits and adopt them yourself for 21 days.

Billed by Jim Kwik as being ‘like a magic pill’, these habits will rewire your brain into thinking and behaving like some of the world’s most successful people.

In this 8 minute clip, Jim shares how, for instance, your brain reacts the same way when you imagine your dog walking in as it does when your dog actually walks in, and this can apply to anything. What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

As much as this applies to positive things, it also can be applied to negative things, so if you imagine failure, that’s what you will get. Fill your mind with thoughts of success and that’s what will happen.

None of these habits are difficult to accomplish, but in doing so you will change your entire mindset into one of a hugely successful person, no matter what you want to achieve in life.

“Don’t leave crumbs.”

If this sounds more like a housekeeping hint and less like a motivational affirmation, you’re 50% right. Our lives do need housekeeping, and not leaving crumbs – i.e. regrets – which will come back and rob your tomorrow of joy, is one of the chores you need to do on a daily basis.

Matthew McConaughey delivers a powerful speech in a gentle way at the University of Houston Commencement Address.

Discussing the five rules he lives by, he will show you how to avoid falling into a trap of entitlement, and why ‘Unbelievable’ is the stupidest word in the dictionary.

With some invaluable life lessons contained inside a highly watchable speech, Matthew McConaughey is an unlikely but very inspiring speaker who has stayed humble despite all his successes.

“There are a lot of sharks in the world; if you hope to complete the swim, you will have to deal with them. So if you want to change the world, don’t back down from the sharks.”

Spoken with eloquence and quiet assuredness, this six-minute speech draws on US Navy Admiral William McRaven’s experience of survival in the Navy Seals.

He explains how making your bed, while seemingly insignificant and even pointless, will set a series of tasks in motion which will ensure that at best, the first job of the day is done, and at worst, you have a neat, tidy bed to fall into at the end of a trying day.

The world is full of people who want to bring you down (the sharks) but if you stand your ground, they will eventually swim away, leaving you to go on to bigger and better things.

“Sometimes life’s gonna hit you in the face with a brick
don’t lose faith.”

Steve Jobs, chairman, CEO, and co-founder of Apple Inc. was hit in the face with more than one brick during his 56 years on earth. From being given up for adoption as a baby, to being fired from the very company which he founded, he never let anything get in his way.

In this commencement speech at Stamford University in 2005, Steve explained how his love for what he did spurred him on to rebuild his life in spectacular fashion.

Life dealt a further blow when, in 2003, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

This speech focuses on three stories which, when combined, show how life offers opportunities for change and growth, no matter how dire the circumstances.

Steve Jobs never graduated college, but when he died in 2011, aged just 56, he had a net worth of US$7 billion. He achieved this by doing what he loved, and in this speech he will inspire you to do the same.

“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously than you might as well not have lived at all. In which case, you fail by default.”

Let J. K. Rowling inspire you with this 2008 commencement speech at Harvard University. Extolling the virtues of failure and imagination, she tells the graduates how being at rock bottom set her free to pursue her dreams of being an author.

As poor as it is possible to be without being homeless, she created the world of Harry Potter and went on to amass a fortune of ÂŁ795 million, but that without her failures in life, she would never have had the opportunity to do so.

Let her words become your own mantra, and view every failure in your life as a future success.

“We shine, because baby you just can’t dim the sun.”

A beautiful antidote for anyone who has ever felt or been told that they are ‘too much’, Gina Hatzis’ winning Speaker Slam speech of 2018 will give you permission to be unashamedly you.

Although written by a woman for women, this powerful and sometimes humorous speech about being your own authentic self will inspire anyone – man or woman – to shine and never dim their own light to suit other people.

“The first step you need to take is just that
step.”

If you are in need of a short, sharp burst of motivation, listen to this speech by ex Navy Seal, Jocko Willink.

Running for less than three minutes, this recording will inspire you to take a step into whatever you want to achieve. Awarded both the Silver Star and the Bronze Star for service, Jocko Willink is no stranger to taking those brave steps, having come face to face with Iraqu insurgents in Ramadi. He will spur you on to put one metaphorical foot in front of the other, and will leave you in no doubt as to what you need to do to achieve your goals.

“On the other side of your maximum fear are all of the best things in life.”

If you like your motivation with a side order of laughter, watch Will Smith as he talks about fear. Agreeing to skydive on a night out with friends, Will realizes that he actually has to go through with it.

Discussing how fear ruins things (he couldn’t sleep or eat before the jump), Will also discloses that beyond fear was the most blissful experience of his life, and how that principle can be applied to anything in life.

“Only those that can see the invisible, can do the impossible.”

Tyrese Gibson knows success, and in this speech he talks about how it can be achieved, by anyone who wants it.

Actor, singer, author, model
Tyrese seems to have the Midas touch, but he didn’t get it by luck. Follow his words as he gently but passionately guides you along the path you need to take if you have goals and dreams in life.

“I refuse to be another man who lived and died, and wasn’t significant’”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzl3CQXMRVo

“If it is written, so shall it be.”

When Steve Harvey’s teacher crushed his dreams of being on TV, the one person who believed in him was his father. He told him to put a piece of paper with his dreams on in his drawer, and to read it every morning and every night.

His dreams came true.

It didn’t always come easy for Steve Harvey though – he spent years living in his car when he had nowhere else to go, but the one thing he never lost was his ambition and determination to see his dreams through to fruition.

A firm believer in the Law of Attraction, Steve still has vision boards and still commits his dreams to writing, and encourages you to do the same in this speech that made Obama cry.

These motivational speeches, and many more like them, show how having guts, determination, and a vision will get you anywhere you want to go, no matter your beginnings in life. These inspirational speakers have suffered loss, sickness, and unbelievable hardships, but the one thing that got them through was their desire to win and their belief that they could.

Immerse yourself in their words of wisdom, and take that next step into your best life.

Unleashing Success: Motivational Speech to Inspire Students

Table of Contents

Success is a journey, not a destination. It is a continuous process of striving, learning, and growing – something every student should aspire for.

There’s that satisfaction that comes from achieving our goals and making progress toward our dreams. Success takes different forms for different people, even for students. Learning  how to write a speech about success  will give you a chance to impact students to pursue success.

You can share your own experiences and insights on what it takes to be successful. A great speech will encourage students to focus on what will make them exemplary in society. This article will teach you how to write a speech about success .

What does success mean?

Success means different things to different people. It mostly depends on the context and the individual’s personal goals and values. Generally, success is the accomplishment of a desired goal or aim or the attainment of a level of excellence in a particular area.

Success is often seen as the opposite of failure. It is the achievement of a desired goal or outcome, while failure is the inability to achieve the same. However, it is essential to note that sometimes, failure is an inherent part of the process of success. It is through the experience of failure that we learn and grow.

Success is the result of overcoming failure. We can achieve success through trying and failing, learning from our mistakes, and trying again. Success is the ability to learn, grow from failure, and continue striving toward our goals despite setbacks and challenges.

How to Write a Speech about Success

1. choose a topic.

First, decide what you want to talk about. What does success mean to you? Do you want to discuss success in a specific context? Narrowing your focus will help you create a clear and cohesive speech .

2. Determine your audience

Consider who you will be speaking to. What are their interests, experiences, and goals? Understanding your audience will help you tailor your message and language to be more relevant and engaging.

3. Research and gather information

Gather information that you can use to support your ideas. Look for examples or statistics to help illustrate your points and make your speech more interesting and convincing.

4. Create an outline

Organize your information and ideas into a clear structure. A good outline will include an introduction, several central points, and a conclusion. Have a good transition between speech sections to help guide your audience through your speech.

5. Write your speech

Using your outline as a guide, start writing your speech. Use clear and straightforward language. Avoid jargon or complex vocabulary that your audience may not understand. Make sure to include a strong opening and closing to grab your audience’s attention and leave a lasting impression.

6. Practice and revise

Once you have a draft of your speech, practice it out loud. This will help you identify any awkward phrasing or pauses and allow you to make any necessary revisions. Having someone else listen to your speech and provide feedback is also a good idea.

7. Deliver your speech

Make sure to arrive early on the day of your speech and make final preparations. This may include setting up your equipment or reviewing your notes. Take deep breaths and try to relax. When you’re ready to start, speak clearly and confidently.

You can engage with your audience by:

  • Making eye contact.
  • Using appropriate gestures to add emphasis and energy to your speech.
  • Asking questions to get your audience to participate in your speech.
  • Using storytelling to illustrate your point.

A Long Speech on Success

silhouette photo of man on cliff during sunset

Dear students,

Today, I want to talk to you about the concept of success and how it relates to your studies and future goals.

Success is a term that is often used and talked about, but it can be challenging to define. Some people might equate success with fame and fortune, while others might describe it as achieving personal goals or positively impacting the world.

As students, it is natural to think about success in terms of grades and academic achievements. However, success is about so much more than just getting good grades. It is about finding your passion and pursuing it with dedication and hard work. It is about developing skills and knowledge to help you achieve your goals and make a difference in the world.

So, how do we achieve success as students? The key is to set clear goals and to work towards them consistently. It is also important to surround ourselves with supportive and positive people who encourage us to pursue our dreams and never give up.

Success also requires a growth mindset–the belief that we can improve and learn new things through effort and practice. This means being open to new ideas and challenges and learning from mistakes.

Finally, success cannot be achieved overnight – it requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance. But the rewards of success – accomplishment, personal growth, and fulfillment – are more than worth the effort.

So let’s embrace the journey of success and strive to be the best versions of ourselves in our studies and future endeavors. Thank you.

Short Motivational Speeches on Success

  • Success is not an accident, but a deliberate choice fuelled by your passion and determination to make it happen. Overcome challenges you face with unwavering fortitude, and never give up on pursuing your dreams.
  • Belief in yourself and your capabilities. Nurture a positive mindset that allows you to stay focused and confident when taking risks toward success. Give yourself credit for your accomplishments, no matter how small they may seem!
  • Develop a realistic plan that builds upon steps towards achieving your long-term goals. With each minor victory, celebrate your progress and persist through adversity until you achieve ultimate success.
  • Surround yourself with supportive people who are experienced or knowledgeable in what you want to accomplish. Listen to their advice, yet trust your instincts as well. Be wary of ‘yes’ men and focus instead on honest feedback.
  • Visualize success. Believe that you will reach your goal and take comfort from this mental image whenever doubt or fear arises. Remember that success is attainable if you work diligently and maintain an unwavering conviction.

More Short Motivational Speeches on Success

  • Embrace failure as a learning experience. Use these moments to develop resilience while developing new tactics to bring you closer to success.
  • Utilize available resources wisely. Invest time into researching successful approaches taken by others. Also, seek out mentors who have achieved great heights within their field.
  • Think proactively and take action; identify potential issues before they manifest themselves and look for ways to reduce the risk associated with these problems. Cultivate valuable relationships with relevant stakeholders, facilitating smoother transitions during change periods.
  • Remain humble throughout all facets of life, even after reaching success. Emphasize gaining wisdom rather than material gain since knowledge is power and humility is strength.
  • Continuously strive for self-improvement by setting ambitious personal goals. Feel free to step outside your comfort zone to acquire new skills – approach each challenge as a chance for growth and development!

Wrapping Up

Many people think that just one achievement is enough to change their lives. However, success is a process – one that is never-ending. You must continually strive to accomplish greatness today, tomorrow, and the day after.

A success speech is a powerful tool to motivate others to succeed . If you’re tasked with delivering such a speech to an audience, you want to give it your all. Let your speech be the inspiration they need!

successful person raising his hand

If you are looking for a speech summary, text, and analysis of the TED Talk: “Secrets of Success”, we have provided one for you. In Richard St. John’s 3-minute speech, he discusses a topic questioned by many: what makes someone successful?

TED Talk: “Secrets of Success” Speech Summary

We ran St. John’s TED Talk through Yoodli, the AI-powered speech coaching platform. You can get started at http://yoodli.ai and view the full results here .

  • The speaker was asked a simple question on a plane seven years ago by a teenager from a poor family: “What leads to success?”
  • The speaker came to Ted to find an answer and interviewed 500 people to find out what makes Ted tick.
  • Passion, hard work, focus, practice, pushing oneself through self-doubt, serving others, coming up with ideas, and persistence are the eight main things that lead to success.
  • Mothers can help push someone who is struggling to persist.
  • Paying to attend Ted is one way to learn success, but the eight things mentioned can also be used.

TED Talk: “Secrets of Success” Speech Text

Yoodli generated the following transcript for Richard St. John’s speech:

" This is really a two hour presentation I give to high school students, cut down to three minutes, and it all started one day on a plane on my way to Ted seven years ago. And then the seat next to me was a, uh, high school student, a teenager. And she came from a really poor family and she wanted to make something of her life. And she asked me a simple little question. She said, what leads to success? And I felt really badly because I couldn’t give her a good answer. So I get off the plane and I come to Ted and I think, geez, I’m in the middle of a room of successful people. So why don’t I ask them what helped them succeed and pass it on to kids. So here we are, seven years, 500 interviews later, and I’m gonna tell you what really leads to success and makes Ted tick. And the first thing is passion Freeman Thomas says, I’m driven by my passion. Ted, do it for love. They don’t do it for money. Carol Colletti says, I would pay someone to do what I do. And the interesting thing is, if you do it for love, the money comes anyway. Work. Rupert Murdoch said to me, it’s all hard work. Nothing comes easily, but I have a lot of fun. Did he say fun? Rupert? Yes. . Teds do have fun working and they work hard. I figured they’re not workaholics. They’re work of Frolics. Good. Alice Garden says, to be successful, put your nose down in something and get damn good at it. There’s no magic. It’s practice, practice, practice. And it’s focus. Norma Jewison said to me, I think it all has to do with focusing yourself on one thing and push. David Gallos says, push yourself physically, mentally. You’ve gotta push, push, push. You gotta push through shyness and self-doubt. Goldie Han says, I always had self-doubt I wasn’t good enough. I wasn’t smart enough. I didn’t think I’d make it. Now, it’s not always easy to push yourself. And that’s why they invented Mothers . Frank Erie. Frank Erie said to me, my mother pushed me. serve. Sherwin Newland says it was a privilege to serve as a doctor. Now, a lot of kids tell me they want to be millionaires. And the first thing I say to them is, okay, well you can’t serve yourself. You gotta serve others something of value, because that’s the way people really get rich ideas. Ted Ster, bill Gates says, I had an idea founding the first microcomputer software company. I’d say it was a pretty good idea. And there’s no magic to creativity in coming up with ideas. It’s just doing some very simple things and I give lots of of evidence. Persist. Joe Kraus says, persistence is the number one reason for our success. You gotta persist through failure. You gotta persist through crap, which of course means criticism, rejection, assholes, and pressure . So the big an, the answer to this question is simple. Pay 4,000 bucks and come to Ted or failing that. Do the eight things. And trust me, these are the big eight things that lead to success. Thank you, Ted, for all your. "

Speech on success in life

Success in life speech : India’s former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam once said, ‘ Man needs his difficulties because they are necessary to enjoy success.’  Success is not given or gifted. Success is earned with commitment and perseverance; whether it is academic or professional success. Everyone aspires to be a better version of themselves and wants to live prosperous lives. But do you know what it takes to become successful?

2-Minute Speech on Success in Life

‘Good morning my friends, teacher (s). My today’s speech topic is ‘Success in life’. Which person comes to your mind when you think of the most successful person in the world? Is it Elon Musk? Or Mukesh Ambani? I am sure it is some top-level businessman or celebrity.

Lifelong happiness, financial security, personal development, a positive atmosphere, leading a healthy lifestyle, etc. are all signs of success. Who doesn’t want these things in life? We all wish for a better life for ourselves and our loved ones. But first, there are certain things we must focus on and take action on.

Having a goal is very important. Goals act as our guiding stars, providing direction and purpose. Let me tell you something; success is a journey and not a destination. We all have our role models. Some of us like movie stars, some sportspersons, others any businessperson or any popular figure. If you look at their life journey, they all started from somewhere and drafted a plan for themselves.

Success demands sacrifice, discipline, and hard work. Life is not just rainbows and sunshine. There will be obstacles along the way, but it’s your determination and resilience that will propel you forward. Embrace challenges as opportunities to grow and learn, and remember that setbacks are not failures but stepping stones to success.

Bruce Lee, the famous martial artist and actor, didn’t earn fame overnight. Bruce Lee’s success was not only physical but also rooted in his philosophical approach to life. Here’s one brilliant quote by him, ‘Absorb what is useful, discard what is not, add what is uniquely your own.’

Next time you see a successful person, don’t just look at the car he is driving or the expensive watch he’s wearing. Think how hard he might have worked to achieve all those luxurious things.’

Long Speech on Success in Life

‘Hello and welcome to everyone present here. Today, I stand before you to present my ‘Success in Life speech’. Our every action must have a purpose. There are ups and downs in life, challenges that will shake you off your foundation, emotional breakdowns, and sometimes bad luck. But what if you bounce back all the challenges that stand in your way? Can you imagine your success, which is solely based on your hard work, determination, discipline, and perseverance? Take a moment and think about what your successful life will look like.

Depending on your interests and hobbies, think of a goal that you wish to achieve. With a specific goal or target in mind, you can work in the right direction and focus solely on your purpose. If you ask me, I would take some time to reflect on my aspirations and let them serve as beacons lighting my path toward success.

Success is not achieved overnight. It’s a lifelong process. Usain Bolt, the fastest man on the planet won his first Olympic gold medal after 10 years of deliberate practice. He achieved success because he believed in himself and his hard work.

Nothing good comes for free. It requires sacrifice, determination, and a lot of hard work. The journey to success is not always smooth. It is marked by challenges, obstacles, and moments of self-doubt. In times like these, when you feel like giving up, resilience becomes your greatest ally. Resilience, it’s the ability to bounce back from setbacks, to learn from failures, and to persevere in the face of adversity.

Do not let the absence of challenges define who you are, but rather how you respond to them.

Success is intertwined with a commitment to continuous learning. We need to embrace every opportunity life offers, as it can expand our knowledge, develop new skills, and to adapt the ever-evolving world.

Surround yourself with like-minded people, people who inspire you, support and challenge you to influence your mindset and shape your journey toward success. You can’t stop the inevitable, but you can learn from the mistakes you made.

We are all in the same boat here. What we do today will define who we become tomorrow. So let’s cheer each other, and focus on our goals, not materialistic things. We all have only one life. Let’s make it count.’

What is success- success and fear for failure.

  • Speech on Success – How to Measure Success?

How to Be a Successful Person?

Frequently asked questions on success.

The greatest reward of success is the satisfaction that an individual attains by achieving a goal. Success is the offspring of hard work and determination. Without both these parents, success will not be born. In order to be successful in life, an individual has to set up goals and work for them. Many people will do the first part — setting the goal right, but they forget the main part — working for it. No seed will be ready to be reaped unless it is sowed and cared for.

Have you ever wondered why the number of unsuccessful people in the world is huge when compared to the successful ones? What is stopping people from being successful in life? The answer to these questions is very simple — it is the ‘fear of failure’. People are not even ready to give a single try for success because of the fear of failure that exists deep down in their minds. The intensity of fear is much stronger than the determination to be successful. How can someone win a competition without even participating in it? The very first thing is to give it a try, right?

Fear of failure is the only impediment that exists in the journey to success. What would have happened if computer scientists Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn dropped their project on the Internet because of their fear of failure? How will you be reading this article if there isn’t access to the Internet? Can you imagine a world without the Internet? Both these scientists have failed numerous times while working to develop the Internet. They were not ready to quit, and the strength of their determination was much greater than their fear of failure. Don’t fear failure; consider it as a part of the process. If success is one side of the coin, then failure is the other one. If you won a failure, don’t quit; toss the coin again. Sooner or later, you are bound to succeed.

Sample Speech on Success

A few samples of speeches on success are given below. Go through them and utilise the resource for enhancing your knowledge.

How to Measure Success?

Success is not at all determined by the status or privilege that a person is enjoying in life. An individual’s success has nothing to do with the wealth that a person holds, social status, or luxuries that the person enjoys. How can success be measured? Have you ever thought about it? Success should not be measured by considering the material achievements that one has made, or not even by considering the position that one has reached in life. Just like there are multiple ways to solve a problem, reaching a higher position is easy with people to back you up. True success is much different from these accomplishments. These are the favours offered by others, while true success is the outcome of efforts. True success has to be measured by calculating the number of obstacles that the individual has encountered. It is the obstacles that define success. The journey to success is never an easy, straightforward road; it is strewn over with multiple hurdles. Always keep in mind that it is these hurdles that will help in the evolution of individuals into truly successful persons.

Learn from the mistakes, and put those lessons into practice. Elbert Hubbard once said, “The greatest mistake a man can ever make is to be afraid of making one”. And remember that it is from the mistakes that we learn, not from success.

Do you think that duplicating a successful personality, following their path and lifestyle will help someone achieve success in life? Everyone is unique; if you try to mimic someone, you are not living your life. You are wasting your time by producing a duplicated version of someone. It is not the right path. In life, always be yourself. Accept the truth that ‘everyone is special’, express yourself and always try to build faith in yourself.

Stories of success vary from person to person. Similarly, the things people do for being successful also differ. But when we cross-analyse all the stories of successful personalities, we can figure out the existence of some key rules that all of them have followed. Note these key points, apply them in your lives and start your voyage for getting the treasure of success.

Love yourself. “This is my life, and I am the hero of my life” – repeat this statement often every day. Never consider yourself inferior to anyone; believe in yourself and do things with confidence. By loving oneself, an individual develops positivity, and will pave the way to mental well-being, essential for success.

Try to be the best. Always try to bring out the best in you. Push yourself out of your comfort zones, and always analyse your performance. Celebrate your success; it develops your confidence. Always try to stay clean and be good.

Work hard in your life. Never give up easily on the efforts that you are taking to reach your goals. If you are compromising, it means that you are ready to give up on your dreams of success. True success comes from hard work, and just like Sophocles said, “Success is dependent on effort.” So remember, without pain, there is no gain.

Be passionate. Love what you do. If you do not love what you do, you will never make any progress in the job you are doing. Find your passion, and move behind it. That’s how a champion is born. Find a job of your interest and start working on it to be successful.

Focus. Never let your dreams move out of your focus. Follow it regularly. Focus is one of the most required things for an individual to be successful. Speech on Perseverance Is The Key To Success

Perseverance, a powerful force, can turn dreams into reality. It’s that inner drive that keeps you moving forward, even when the odds are against you.

Success isn’t always a straight path. Often, it’s the result of countless failures, missteps, and lessons learned. Yet, it’s your ability to persist that ultimately paves the way to victory.

1-minute Speech on Perseverance Is The Key To Success

Hello, dear friends! I am here today to talk about a magic key. This magic key is not made of gold or silver, but it’s more precious. This magic key is called perseverance and it can unlock the door to success.

Now, what is perseverance? It is when you keep trying again and again, even if something is hard. Like when you ride a bicycle for the first time, you fall, you get bruises, but you don’t stop. You keep trying until you can ride without falling. That’s perseverance.

So, why is perseverance the key to success? Imagine you want to climb a tall mountain. Will you reach the top if you stop after a few steps? No! You must keep climbing, even when you are tired, even when the path is steep. With each step, you get closer to the top. The same is true for any goal you want to achieve.

Some of you might think, “But I tried and failed. So, what’s the point?” Remember friends, each time you fail, you learn something new. You discover a way that doesn’t work, and that brings you one step closer to finding a way that does. So, don’t fear failure. Embrace it. It’s just a stepping stone on your path to success.

So, dear friends, let’s promise ourselves today. No matter how big our dreams are, no matter how hard the journey is, we will not stop. We will keep trying, we will keep learning, and we will keep moving forward with perseverance. Because perseverance is not just the key to success, it is the magic key that makes the impossible possible.

Thank you for listening and remember, keep trying, keep persevering, and you will unlock your own door to success.

2-minute Speech on Perseverance Is The Key To Success

Good day, everyone. Today we’re going to talk about a very important quality that can change our lives. This quality is called perseverance. Some of you may ask, “What is perseverance?” Perseverance means to keep trying, to keep going even when things are hard. It is like a small boat in a storm. The waves are big and scary, but the boat keeps going. That’s what we need to do in our lives too.

The first reason why perseverance is important is because nothing in life comes easy. We all have dreams. Maybe you want to be a doctor, a scientist, or a sports star. But to reach these dreams, we have to work hard. We have to study, practice, and learn new things every day. This can be tiring. But remember, with perseverance, we can reach our dreams no matter how hard they seem.

Now, you might think, “What if I fail?” That’s a good question. We all fail sometimes. It’s a part of life. But remember, failure is not the end. It’s just a step on the way to success. Thomas Edison, the man who invented the light bulb, failed 10,000 times before he succeeded. He didn’t give up. He kept trying. That’s perseverance.

Another reason why perseverance is the key to success is because it helps us to grow. When we try again and again, we get better and stronger. We learn from our mistakes. We find new ways to solve problems. This helps us to become better at what we do. So, don’t be afraid to make mistakes. They are opportunities to learn and grow.

Finally, perseverance teaches us patience. Success doesn’t come overnight. It takes time. It’s like planting a seed. It takes time for the seed to grow into a big, beautiful tree. But if we take care of it, if we water it and give it sunlight, it will grow. The same goes for our dreams. We have to take care of them. We have to work on them every day. And with time, they will grow.

In conclusion, perseverance is the key to success. It helps us to reach our dreams, learn from our mistakes, and grow. So, no matter how hard things get, keep going. Remember, the more we try, the closer we get to success. So, let’s be like that small boat in the storm. Let’s keep going, no matter how big the waves are. Because with perseverance, we can reach any goal. Thank you.

Speech on Success

1. Speech on success

The Cambridge Dictionary perceives success  as: ‘the achieving of desired results, or someone or something that achieves positive results.’ One might find success in small achievements and one might not find success at all even after a series of achievements. Success has become the ultimate goal of life. Nowadays it can feel imperative to be successful in order to stake your claim in this world  – especially if you are a student with the pressure of exams.

Success Speech

If you fail remember all is not lost. Winston Churchill wisely said:

“Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”

Persistence and enthusiasm to achieve are half the battle in becoming successful at our chosen goal. Everyone wants to be successful in life. Success can be small or large. A good example is if we create a Mexican dinner for a few friends and the recipe has gone to plan we can call it a success. On a larger playing field if my new business reaches its financial targets in the first year we can say it’s a success. When I pass the exam I set out to pass I am a success. Without doubt hard work is almost always necessary. The old saying you get out of life what you put in is very apt when it comes to achieving success. If you badly want to pass an exam though you’re track record is not good that is not because you are inferior to others. It is most likely one of three problems.

  • Your exam technique of remembering is failing you.
  •  You don’t have the correct information in front of you your application is too low.
  •  you are spreading your memory time too thinly

Seek advice from someone with a track record of passing exams if you wish to pass an exam. Practice your memory capabilities by learning a page at a time. Explain to your teacher you’re worried you don’t have all the notes to pass and ask for a breakdown of every main topic you’ll need to know. Don’t leave memory time too late and always understand the information in front of you and persist until you do understand.

Lucius Seneca the Younger (c. 4 BC – AD 65), was a Roman was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman and  dramatist. His much used quote is as apt today as it was in Roman times:

“It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that things are difficult.” Seneca

This quote is useful knowledge because it challenges those who are failing, financially, or in another way, perhaps career wise to take a gamble on success and dare to do something toward success. Sometimes we must experience hardship and poverty to make us appreciate the times when we have a good income. When all of your friends and family are successful and perhaps you feel you are not, put extra hours into your project, the Elon Musk way:

“Work like hell. I mean you just have to put in 80 to 100 hour weeks every week. This improves the odds of success. If other people are putting in 40 hour workweeks and you’re putting in 100 hour workweeks, then even if you’re doing the same thing, you know that you will achieve in four months what it takes them a year to achieve.”

It should be understood that success and satisfaction might not always go hand in hand. If you do not see your achievements as success then you will not be content. If you once said to yourself passing six exams this year will be a success and you achieve that goal, the following year, take a deep breath and remember your achievement and savor that moment. If you once said I want my small business to make $2000 a month and after a few years you achieve it, a year later when your sights are higher, take a deep breath and remember your achievement and savor it.

speech on success

2. Success speech (350 words)

Success, everyone wants it. Many want name and fame for themselves. But what is success really? Is it the big bank balance, a luxurious house and car and a nice paying job? But truly is it so? The real success is lies in achieving good health, enough wealth to keep you filled, happy relationships. If you are feeling you down because you don’t have the material wealth you hoped for, watch the famous video by Motown singer, Nina Simone: Ain’t Got No, I Got Life. Let’s watch it together and I guarantee you will be smiling by the end. Nina starts singing about all the possessions she doesn’t have and then she spends the latter half of the song celebrating her good health and so on.

https://youtu.be/L5jI9I03q8E

If you go through the life history of people that are our ideal and are successful, you will find that they haven’t turned to be what they are just by snapping their fingers. They have worked their way up, fighting difficulties and overcoming the challenges. They sometimes have faced depression and have fought their way over it. Many of us lose our hope and dreams when hit by depression or despair. We give up and stop fighting for our dreams. Is it the way to the success that we seek? No.

Everyone goes through a sad phase of their life; everyone knows sorrow and have experienced it. Life throws lemons at everyone. But successful is the one who knows how to turn lemons in their favour and enjoy it too. Successful is the one who knows how to get over the grief and fight for what they really want.

There is one thing that you must leave behind if you really want to taste success – excuses. The excuses are the failure’s way of dumping their faults on you. If I failed once, we must learn to take responsibilities and learn from our mistakes. Instead of making excuses, we must think of the way to win over the reasons for our last failure.

Another thing that pulls us away from the success is our fear. Before we begin, we face a lot of doubts. What if we don’t succeed? What will people say? What if problems come? We often let go of the opportunity in such doubtful conditions. Instead, we must fight our fears, take chances and do whatever it takes in our power to be where we want to be with in reason.

Success Speech

3. Success speech(300 Words)

Success can be referred to as the realization of any particular aim or achieving any previously set target. Success can also be described as to how some adverse situations can be turned into a favourable one by fighting through it. In reality, it is almost impossible to describe what success specifically is. There might be several definitions of success and different persons may have different viewpoints about success which is why it becomes difficult to be exactly defined.

One thing is to be remembered here is that success does not come without hard work and dedication. Thus, both hard work and dedication are the two pillars that help to achieve success. Our inner potential is developed to the fullest only with the help of consistent hard work which can propel us towards excellence in any field. Hard work basically has the capacity to transform destiny. For example, we can see that hard work helps an average student to transform into extraordinary. It helps an athlete to preserve in a race and ultimately wins it. Hard work always keeps us prepared to face any adverse situations and get out of it to finally achieve success.

Success is hard to achieve but not impossible. So, it becomes extremely important to focus on the target and select the proper way of realizing it. Elon Musk once said one of the hardest things to achieve is to know when an idea is worth pursuing with everything. One important point is to be stressed  is that the choice of the target and the effort taken to achieve it should be enjoyed. This basically means that if one wants to achieve something that we truly love and not because it is just to be achieved, then no amount of hard work or pressure will seem to be tiresome. Thus, if one falls in love with the mission, it becomes much easier to achieve success.

India calls on Iran to release 17 Indian crew members on board seized container ship

From CNN's Sandi Sidhu in Hong Kong

India has called on Iran to release 17 Indian crew members on board a container ship seized by Iran on Saturday.

Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said that he spoke to his Iranian counterpart Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and "took up the release of 17 Indian crew members of MSC Aries."

Four Filipino seamen were also on board the ship, according to the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers.

The department said it was working with its government, the ship owner, and the operator to release the captured seafarers.

On Saturday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards seized an Israeli-linked container ship in a helicopter operation near the Strait of Hormuz, state news agency IRNA reported.

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) said there were 25 crew members on board.

Japanese prime minister condemns Iran's attack on Israel

From CNN's Junko Ogura in Tokyo

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Sunday said he "strongly condemns" Iran's missile and drone attack on Israel.

"(The attack) further aggravates the current situation in the Middle East. We are deeply concerned and strongly condemn such an escalation," Kishida told reporters.

Kishida said Japan would continue diplomatic efforts to "prevent the situation from worsening and to calm the situation down," and "respond in cooperation with other countries."

Blinken calls British and German counterparts following Iran's attack on Israel

From CNN's Philip Wang

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with his counterparts from the United Kingdom and Germany on Sunday following Iran's attack on Israel, according to readouts from the State Department.

All parties agreed "the importance of condemning Iran's attack in the strongest possible terms and preventing further escalation," the readout said.

Blinken earlier held phone calls with his counterparts from Turkey, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia , in which he emphasized the importance of avoiding escalation in the Middle East and of "a coordinated diplomatic response."

US forces destroyed more than 80 attack drones from Iran and Yemen, Central Command says

From CNN's Philip Wang

US forces intercepted more than 80 one-way attack drones and at least six ballistic missiles from Iran and Yemen during its attack on Israel, according to a statement from the Central Command.

The operation included destroying a ballistic missile on its launcher vehicle and seven drones on the ground in Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, CENTCOM said.

"Iran's continued unprecedented, malign, and reckless behavior endangers regional stability and the safety of U.S. and coalition forces," the statement added.

Israeli and Iranian ambassadors trade accusations during UN Security Council session

From Abel Alvarado in Atlanta

Israel’s UN ambassador Gilad Erdan shows a video of drones and missiles heading toward Israel during a United Nations Security Council meeting at UN headquarters in New York on Sunday.

Israel and Iran’s United Nations ambassadors condemned each other’s actions during Sunday’s UN Security Council emergency session called to address Iran’s attack on Israel.

Israel’s UN ambassador Gilad Erdan said Iran "must be stopped before it drives the world to a point of no return, to a regional war that can escalate to a world war." Erdan accused Iran of seeking world domination and that its attack proved that Tehran "cares nothing, nothing for Islam or Muslims" before pulling out a tablet to show a video of Israel intercepting Iranian drones above Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Erdan called on the UN Security Council to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terror organization.

“Action must be taken now, not for Israel's sake, not for the region's sake, but for the world's sake. Stop Iran today."

Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani said his country’s operation was "entirely in the exercise of Iran’s inherent right to self-defense, as outlined in Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations and recognized by international law."

Iravani said:

"This concluded action was necessary and proportionate," adding that the operation was “precise and only targeted military objectives” to reduce the potential of escalation and to prevent civilian harm. “Iran is never seeking to contribute to the spillover of the conflict in the region, nor does it to escalate or spread the tension to the entire region," he said.

Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani speaks during the meeting on Sunday.

Tehran’s attack had been anticipated since  a suspected Israeli strike  on an Iranian diplomatic complex in Syria earlier this month.

Iravani added Iran has “no intention of engaging in conflict with the US in the region” but warned Iran will use its “inherent right to respond proportionately” should the US initiate a military operation against “Iran, its citizens or its security.”

Israeli war cabinet says it's ready to respond to Iran's attack but delays immediate action. Here's the latest

From CNN staff

The hours-long Israeli war cabinet meeting ended Sunday night without a decision on how Israel will respond to Iran’s missile and drone attack , an Israeli official said.

The cabinet is determined to respond — but has yet to decide on the timing and scope and the official said the military has been tasked with coming up with additional options for a response.

Separately, a senior Biden administration official told reporters that an Israeli official told the United States that it's not looking to significantly escalate the showdown with Iran.

CNN analyst Barak Ravid said Israeli ministers Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot advocated for swift action, but US President Joe Biden's phone call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu led to a decision to delay the response until the next day.

Here are the latest headlines:

  • Retaliation is over, Iran told US: Iran privately messaged the United States that its retaliation against Israel had concluded, echoing what Tehran said publicly, according to a senior administration official. Late Saturday, Iran said its attack on Israel is a response to Israel's strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, and "the matter can be deemed concluded." However, President Ebrahim Raisi said any “new aggression against the interests of the Iranian nation will be met with a heavier and regrettable response,” according to Iran’s state news channel IRIB.
  • United Nations response: UN Secretary-General AntĂłnio Guterres  called for a de-escalation of violence after Iran’s attack. Guterres said the United Nations and member countries have a “shared responsibility” to engage “all parties concerned to prevent further escalation.” He also called for a ceasefire in the Israel-Gaza conflict. “Neither the region nor the world can afford more war,” he said.
  • G7 and others: Amid a flurry of diplomatic activity in response to Iran's attack, the G7 nations said they would work together to "stabilize the situation" in the Middle East, according to a statement from Biden. Also, Jordan summoned Iran's ambassador in Amman on Sunday after it intercepted Iranian drones over the country.
  • Meanwhile in Gaza: As thousands of Palestinians were turned away from returning to their homes in northern Gaza on Sunday, a 5-year-old girl was shot in the head by Israeli soldiers, her mother said. Video showed a man carrying a 5-year-old girl named Sally Abu Laila, who was bleeding from her head, with people crowding around her in panic trying to cover her wound.

Also on Sunday:

  • Israel decided to lift its restrictions on large gatherings and to reopen schools on Monday.
  • The US Department of Homeland Security has not identified any “specific or credible threats” to the US since Iran attacked Israel.

Blinken calls Turkish, Egyptian, Jordanian and Saudi counterparts following Iran's attack

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday spoke with his counterparts in Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia following Iran's attacks in Israel, according to readouts from the State Department.

During his phone calls, Blinken emphasized the importance of avoiding escalation in the region and the importance of "a coordinated diplomatic response."

In his conversation with Jordan and Egypt, Blinken also underlined the significance of achieving an "enduring end to the crisis in Gaza."

Iran will be held responsible if any action is taken against the US or Israel, deputy ambassador warns

From CNN’s Abel Alvarado

US Deputy Ambassador to the UN Robert Wood speaks during a United Nations Security Council emergency session over Iran’s attack on Israel on Sunday in New York.

The United States warned Iran against taking any action against the US or Israel during the UN Security Council emergency session over Iran’s attack on Israel.

“Let me be clear, if Iran or its proxies take actions against the US or further action against Israel, Iran will be held responsible,” US Deputy Ambassador to the UN Robert Wood said Sunday.

The United States is “not seeking escalation, our actions have been purely defensive in nature,” adding that the “best way to prevent such escalation is an unambiguous condemnation of the council of Iran’s unprecedented large-scale attack,” he said.

The envoy reiterated US support for Israel and condemned Iran’s attack. “Iran’s intent was to cause significant damage and death in Israel,” Wood said.

Wood also said the UN Security Council had an “obligation to not let Iran’s actions go unanswered.”

“For far too long, Iran has flagrantly violated its international legal obligations,” he said before listing occasions Iran has violated UN Security Council resolutions and international law.

Wood accused Iran of being in a “broad sense complicit” of the October 7 attack on Israel by providing “significant funding and training for the military wing of Hamas.”

He added the US will explore "additional measures to hold Iran accountable here in the UN.”

Title: teaching a multilingual large language model to understand multilingual speech via multi-instructional training.

Abstract: Recent advancements in language modeling have led to the emergence of Large Language Models (LLMs) capable of various natural language processing tasks. Despite their success in text-based tasks, applying LLMs to the speech domain remains limited and challenging. This paper presents BLOOMZMMS, a novel model that integrates a multilingual LLM with a multilingual speech encoder, aiming to harness the capabilities of LLMs for speech recognition and beyond. Utilizing a multi-instructional training approach, we demonstrate the transferability of linguistic knowledge from the text to the speech modality. Our experiments, conducted on 1900 hours of transcribed data from 139 languages, establish that a multilingual speech representation can be effectively learned and aligned with a multilingual LLM. While this learned representation initially shows limitations in task generalization, we address this issue by generating synthetic targets in a multi-instructional style. Our zero-shot evaluation results confirm the robustness of our approach across multiple tasks, including speech translation and multilingual spoken language understanding, thereby opening new avenues for applying LLMs in the speech domain.
