With so many fun and accessible ways to take photos, there is no wonder why everyone is so photo-happy these days. As easy as it may be to stock up on photos, it can be a challenge to keep them organized. One great way to keep your photos in a convenient place, that is easy to access when you want to reminisce on special memories, is by uploading them into PowerPoint. By doing this, you can create a slideshow that is a fun-filled way to back up the memories in your life.

Creating Photo Slideshows for PC Computers

• Remember to save your presentation after something that will help you to remember what pictures are in the file. This will help you to locate them later on.

• Select a layout that will accommodate your image, such as a slide with a title box and an image box, a slide with just an image box, or even a blank slide.

• Double-click inside the image box (or go to Insert > Picture > From File ), then browse to the desired image.
• Click "Okay" or "Insert" to add the image. If you don't like the way it looks, select the image and click on "Picture" to change it out for a different one. You can also select the image and hit "Delete" to remove the picture.

• Locate the "Slide Sorter" button near the bottom of the image pane. Then, click and drag the slides to the desired destinations.

• To add music, click on the movies and audio icon located under the "Insert" tab. First, go to "Audio from file", and then, click on "Music" to pull up your music. When you choose the song you want, click on the song, and press "Link to file" before pressing "Insert". [9] X Research source

Warren mayor stone to break tradition with budget presentation, city charter states mayoral budget must be given to city council by april 8.

Warren Mayor Lori Stone announced on social media and in a press release she will give a budget presentation on Monday, April 8 at 6 p,m. In the Warren Community Center auditorium.

The presentation is scheduled to take place an hour before the 7 p.m. Planning Commission meeting, which also meets in the auditorium.

A press release issued by Stone on April 4 states the presentation will “focus on new and improved initiatives that align with the mayor’s commitment to accountability and transparency.” It added the presentation will also include information about infrastructure improvements, public safety, and parks and recreation.

Typically, the budget presentation is part of a City Council meeting or is scheduled in the hour prior to the meeting and presented to the city council.

The Warren City Charter states that the mayor’s recommended fiscal year budget must be submitted to the City Council no later than the second Monday of April. Stone’s scheduled presentation is not being made to the City Council so it does not appear to fulfill the charter requirement for the budget to be given to City Council on or before the second Monday in April.

Council Secretary Mindy Moore said the mayor has not sent her proposed budget to the Council.

Upon seeing the Facebook post about the mayoral budget presentation Wednesday, Moore contacted Stone and requested a copy of the budget be sent to the City Council. Moore said Stone advised her copies would be available at Monday’s presentation.

Moore said she has arranged for City Council Deputy Secretary Mary Kamp to go to City Hall on Monday during regular business hours to pick up a copy of the budget to be shared with the city council, but that Stone advised her she will not give Kamp the budget until after the evening presentation.

“There was no communication with the City Council about the budget presentation or submission of the budget,” said Moore. “It is very nontransparent.”

Monday’s event has been advertised as a “formal budget presentation” so it is not clear if Stone will entertain questions from those in attendance.

The City Council will hold budget hearings on April 13 and April 15 but Moore said she does not know if Stone plans to attend and answer questions about her proposal.

Christians around the world observe Good Friday two days before Easter, but what is it, and why do they commemorate the holy day?

The holiday is part of Holy Week, which leads up to Easter Sunday. Palm Sunday kicks off the series of Christian holy days that commemorate the Crucifixion and celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection.

"Good Friday has been, for centuries now, the heart of the Christian message because it is through the death of Jesus Christ that Christians believe that we have been forgiven of our sins," Daniel Alvarez, an associate teaching professor of religious studies at Florida International University, told USA TODAY.

When is Good Friday?

Good Friday is always the Friday before Easter. It's the second-to-last day of Holy Week.

In 2024, Good Friday will fall on March 29.

What is Good Friday?

Good Friday is the day Christ was sacrificed on the cross. According to Britannica , it is a day for "sorrow, penance, and fasting."

"Good Friday is part of something else," Gabriel Radle, an assistant professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame, previously told USA TODAY. "It's its own thing, but it's also part of something bigger."

Are Good Friday and Passover related?

Alvarez says that Good Friday is directly related to the Jewish holiday, Passover.

Passover , or Pesach, is a major Jewish holiday that celebrates the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt.

"The whole Christian idea of atoning for sin, that Jesus is our atonement, is strictly derived from the Jewish Passover tradition," said Alvarez.

How is that possible?

According to the professor, Passover celebrates the day the "Angel of Death" passed over the homes of Israelites who were enslaved by the Egyptians. He said that the Bible states when the exodus happened, families were told to paint their doors with lamb's blood so that God would spare the lives of their firstborn sons.

Alvarez says this is why Christians call Jesus the "lamb of God." He adds that the symbolism of the "blood of the lamb" ties the two stories together and is why Christians believe God sacrificed his firstborn son. Because, through his blood, humanity is protected from the "wrath of a righteous God that cannot tolerate sin."

He adds that the stories of the exodus and the Crucifixion not only further tie the stories together but also emphasize just how powerful the sacrifice of the firstborn and the shedding of blood are in religion.

"Jesus is the firstborn, so the whole idea of the death of the firstborn is crucial," said Alvarez.

He adds that the sacrifice of the firstborn, specifically a firstborn son, comes from an ancient and "primitive" idea that the sacrifice unleashes "tremendous power that is able to fend off any kind of force, including the wrath of God."

Why Is Good Friday so somber?

Alavarez says people might think this holiday is more depressing or sad than others because of how Catholics commemorate the Crucifixion.

"I think [it's] to a level that some people might think is morbid," said Alvarez.

He said Catholics not only meditate on Jesus' death, but primarily focus on the suffering he faced in the events that led up to his Crucifixion. That's what makes it such a mournful day for people.

But, the professor says that Jesus' suffering in crucial to Christianity as a whole.

"The suffering of Christ is central to the four Gospels," said Alvarez. "Everything else is incidental."

According to the professor, statues that use blood to emphasize the way Jesus and Catholic saints suffered is very common in Spanish and Hispanic Countries, but not as prevalent in American churches.

Do you fast on Good Friday?

Father Dustin Dought, the executive director of the Secretariat of Divine Worship of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, previously told USA TODAY that Good Friday and Ash Wednesday are the two days in the year that Roman Catholics are obliged to fast.

"This practice is a way of emptying ourselves so that we can be filled with God," said Dought.

What do you eat on Good Friday?

Many Catholics do not eat meat on any Friday during Lent. Anything with flesh is off-limits. Dought says this practice is to honor the way Jesus sacrificed his flesh on Good Friday.

Il débutera en tout cas la course avec le statut de grand favori, vêtu de son maillot arc-en-ciel de champion du monde. En seulement quatre courses depuis le début de l'année, le Néerlandais a remporté la victoire sur l'E3 Saxo Classic , obtenu la deuxième place du Gand-Wevelgem, mais il a également offert une prestation de haute volée sur le Milan-San Remo pour permettre à son coéquipier Jasper Philipsen de s'imposer, avant de s'adjuger le troisième Tour des Flandres de sa carrière (2020, 2022, 2024). Le coureur de 29 ans semble au top de sa forme et quasiment intouchable cette saison.

Son coéquipier Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) pourra lui s'appuyer sur sa victoire au premier Monument de la saison, Milan-San Remo , au cours du mois de mars. Mais le coureur de 31 ans a été victime d'une grippe intestinale qui l'a immobilisé plusieurs jours et empêché de participer au Tour des Flandres la semaine passée. Avant ce malheureux événement, le Français avait réalisé un début de saison satisfaisant, avec une 5e place sur le Het-Volk (5e), une 4e place au Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne (4e), et enfin une 10e place sur les Strade Bianche.

Parcours du Paris-Roubaix 2024

Ce dimanche 7 avril, le peloton va parcourir 259,9 km pour rallier Roubaix depuis Compiègne. Un parcours semé d’embuches, avec notamment 29 secteurs pavés à traverser.

Il s’agit d’un parcours légèrement plus long que l’année précédente (256,6 km en 2023), avec une distance sur les pavés plus grande également, de 55,7 km, contre 54,5 km en 2023.

Les coureurs débuteront par une centaine de kilomètres bitumés et plats, propices aux échappées. Les choses commenceront à se corser au km 96, avec le premier secteur pavé de Troisvilles à Inchy, classé 3 étoiles.

Parmi les 29 secteurs pavés au programme, trois sont classés cinq étoiles , à savoir « extrêmement difficiles » : la Trouée d'Arenberg au km 164,4, le secteur de Mons-en-Pévèle au km 211,1, et le secteur du Carrefour de l'Arbre au km 242,5. Ils font respectivement 2,3, 3, et 2,1 km de long.

En outre, six autres secteurs sont jugés « très difficiles » et classés quatre étoiles, aux kilomètres 105,1, 156,2, 177,2, 188,2, 205,6 et 239,8 ; et quatorze sont classés trois étoiles à savoir « difficiles ».

À noter le retour du secteur pavé de Briastre classé 3 étoiles au km 111,3, qui n’a plus été emprunté depuis l’édition 2019, et l'introduction d'une chicane avant d'attaquer la Trouée d'Arenberg afin d'éviter une entrée trop rapide.

• 16h30 : Passage au Carrefour de l'Arbre
• 17h10 : Arrivée prévue au vélodrome de Roubaix
