English Essay on “Money is Not Everything” English Essay-Paragraph-Speech for Class 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 CBSE Students and competitive Examination.

Money is Not Everything

Money is the most powerful medium to get things of our necessity, comfort and luxuries. It is by money that we buy our food, our clothes and an abode. Without money, we cannot survive for a day. This is a fact of life. On the other side, it is also realized that money is not everything. It cannot buy many things. It is said that, by hiring the services of a person for performing a job, you can only buy his time in which he uses his knowledge and skill but you cannot buy his loyalty to you. His loyalty is a kind of donation or contribution to you. Similarly, you cannot buy a mother’s love or, for that matter, love from any one in exchange of money. It is an impossibility to buy peace of mind by your money. If it were so, most of millionaires would not be unhappy. There are many more such things which money cannot buy. Life cannot be bought by money. Money, though very powerful, is not everything.

Speech on Money Is Everything

Money, a powerful tool that shapes our lives. It’s often said that money is everything. Can you imagine a world without it? Life would be unimaginably tough, wouldn’t it?

From buying your favorite ice-cream to affording your dream house, money plays a crucial role. It’s like a key that unlocks countless possibilities. Let’s explore this intriguing topic together.

1-minute Speech on Money Is Everything

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Let’s talk about money. Some people say, “Money isn’t everything.” But is that really true? I say, money is everything.

First, think about food. You need money to buy food. Without food, we can’t live. Money keeps us alive. It buys us the things we need to survive.

Secondly, money gives us choices. When you have money, you can choose where to live, what to wear, or what to eat. Money lets us pick what we want.

Now, think about education. To learn, we need books, teachers, and schools. All these things cost money. With money, we can get a good education and become smarter.

Also, money helps us have fun. Want to see a movie or go to a theme park? You need money. Money helps us do things we enjoy.

Lastly, money helps us help others. With money, we can give to those in need. We can make the world a better place.

So, money doesn’t just buy things. It buys food, choices, education, fun, and a chance to help others. That’s why I say, money is everything.

2-minute Speech on Money Is Everything

We often hear the phrase ‘Money Is Everything’. Today, I am here to talk about this very idea. Let’s break it down into simple parts.

First, think about the world we live in. Look around you. What do you see? Houses, cars, clothes, food, and so much more. All these things require money. Without money, we wouldn’t have a roof over our head, food on our table, or clothes on our back. That’s how important money is. It helps us meet our basic needs.

Second, let’s take a step beyond the basics. What about education? We all know that knowledge is power. But can we gain knowledge for free? Not really. Schools, books, tuition fees – all of these cost money. So, money plays a crucial role in our pursuit of knowledge. It opens doors to learning and better opportunities.

Third, think about health. Good health is priceless, isn’t it? But maintaining good health needs money too. Hospitals, medicines, doctors, health insurance – none of these come without a cost. When we fall sick, money helps us get the best care and treatment. So, money is indeed important for our well-being.

Fourth, let’s talk about dreams and ambitions. We all have them. Whether it’s starting a business, travelling the world, or pursuing a hobby, they all need money. Without money, we cannot turn our dreams into reality. So, money is not just about survival, it’s also about living our best life.

Finally, money gives us freedom. Freedom to choose where we live, what we eat, how we spend our time. Freedom to help others in need. Freedom to make our own decisions. It gives us the power to shape our lives the way we want.

But, always remember, while money is important, it’s not the only thing that matters. Love, friendship, health, happiness – these are priceless and can’t be bought with money. So, while we strive to earn money, let’s not forget to earn these priceless things as well.

In conclusion, money is indeed everything, because it gives us the basic necessities of life, education, good health, the ability to fulfill our dreams, and freedom. But let’s also remember to value the things that money can’t buy. Let’s strive for a balanced life, where we have enough money to meet our needs, but also enough love, happiness, and good health to make life truly worth living.

Money Is Not Everything

speech on money is not everything

Money is essential that brings for man all his necessities and luxuries for his comfortable existence. Life without money is undoubtedly a virtual hell, with pangs of hunger and thirst eating into man’s very bones. However, at the same time for man to think that money is everything, is also a great mistake Money is a necessity only in as much as, it is the thing which buys us all we need, but, beyond that, money is a harbinger of all sorts of vices. Let us remember that money is to be considered as a means to an end, and not an end in itself. The end is a comfortable life, and the means is money.

If we consider money as a means to our end of having a comfortable life then, we would be seeing money in its proper perspective for without money we cannot live as we are not able to buy anything if we do not have money. So much, so good but, in the present day scenario, money is no more a means to an end but, an end in itself. To collect money. to hoard money and become richer and richer has become our sole aim in life. It is here in our outlook towards money that we have erred, and so the disastrous situation we are placed in is not hidden from anyone. Each individual has set a goal of hoarding money and money only, and this also not fixed to a certain amount, we just have to go on and on irrespective of how much we need, for the lust for money has become our very style of life. It is a wild goose chase that we are all indulging in, and that, at the cost of all the rest we had.

True, money gives us all that we require but money is not the only thing that we need to keep happy and fit. There are several other things that make life beautiful and mind that these cannot be purchased with any amount of money. For example, a gush of wind from where we take our very breath of life, cannot be purchased at any cost. We can wear the most glamorous dresses but, to give health to that same body, no amount of money is enough. We can buy the thickest and costliest of mattresses with money but, no amount of money can buy for us a good sound, night’s sleep. These few facts are sufficient to awake us to the fact that, there are many other important things that make for a happy life, and money is not all. We should thereby give money only its due importance and not make it all-important for, if we do that, we are certainly going to sacrifice some other vital items of a good life. Now let us analyze to some extent how this money is capable of playing havoc in life.

In reality, the position of society today is far from being enviable, is largely due to this money mania that has caught hold of society. Each and every individual is busy in his/her money-spinning activities. At this juncture, I would like to mention the fact that in our Hindu mythology, the Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth has an owl for her transport. This is very significant as it is believed that the pursuit of money, as it is today, makes an owl of a man. I’d say that we have all become money maniacs, sacrificing every conceivable pleasure on the altar of wealth. Is this not owlish sense? When we lose our equilibrium, we become significant owls.

Today, we have sacrificed the bliss of a happy and contented family in the guise of material luxuries which we think are all that we need. We have no time to love each other, care for each other or, serve each other in the family because each member of the family is busy in the struggle of making money. In this unit of a family, where, at one time the love we got was an elixir for our tired nerves, is now a missing entity.

On the other hand, now, we have plush carpets, foam on our beds, and a beautiful dining table with, no one at home to share our joys and worries. This is what money has done to our family’s succor. The parents are busy making money and have no time, to spare for the children, the husband is busy buying diamonds for his wife, but has no time even to take a glance at her when she dons them. The wife is busy preparing the office routine but has no time for the routine service of the family. So, in this avenue of life, money has done more harm than good. In as much as money was essential to buy for a man his necessities and to some extent even his luxuries, it was good but, as soon as it became the be-all and end-all of life, it wreaked havoc in life.

On the social front also, no one has any time to be even aware of about the welfare of the neighbours and colleagues, as, each one is busy not only spinning money but, spinning money more than the neighbour. When such an unhealthy competition exists for the hoarding of money, where then will a society exist at all. Where no one knows anything about anyone, no does anyone care to know anything about anyone, then, where does society exist? The society has been blown up into fragments, with each family of the society only busy raising bank balances more than the neighbour’s.

It is this money and the lust for it that has afflicted uncounted miseries on man. All the competition that persists today is only to rise above the others not in any other way than just the other’s bank balances. Man has become so very deprived in this chase of money that he can do, and he also does anything; yes anything to get hold of money. Is this what money was meant for? Family squabbles, social bickering, political gains are all managed for the sake of this money. This is why today; no one understands any language, except the language of money. For the money, people have killed children or even adults are kidnapped. It is for this money the modern sophisticated man has become a little less than a beast.

After having a bird’s eye view of the present scenario are we still in a position to say that money is all that we need? Yes, money is all-important but, only to a limit. Once the limit of satisfaction is crossed it converts man into a mere animal, a brute, and a devil. It is this excess of money that leads man to all sorts of crimes. We should realize that money is not all that we need for happiness, for, I daresay, the opposite is correct — and all the unhappiness spread in the world today is the obvious corollary of excess money in circulation, and the lust for it. The unhappiness and crime registered in these days of lots of money surpass the unhappiness of many times before this. In spite of so much progress and prosperity, why is there so much ill will, degradation, and unhappiness? It is I think because we are laying too much stress on money and only money. The fact of rampant unhappiness goes to prove that, money is not all that we need to live, for, it is by now apparent that, to be happy, we need so many other things, which money cannot even buy for us. Now, the position is that, we have sacrificed all the finer needs of our happiness for this mundane money and the result is obvious and for all of us to see, and understand.

I suggest that a stage has now come when we must give up our on fighting for money and give it only the amount of respect and importance it deserves, it should be treated only as a means to an end, and not an end itself, only then we will be able to strike a balance between the inputs of money and the inputs of other things we need to live a happy and satisfying life.

Money Isn’t Everything. 8 Things That Are More Important

Steve Cummings

Money isn't everything

Share this post:

As I get older, I realize money isn't everything. People talk about the importance of money. Money can buy you things. It has value to bring about the worldly items we may need to sustain us. A history teacher always quoted the famous song “Money Makes the World Go Round.” from Cabaret , a popular musical. Our teacher mentioned that all wars and conflicts come from money, so we must learn that to understand the history of the world.

We put a significant value on money because many of us have a cultural background of not coming from money, so money is valued. As we look at literature and theatrical performances, we learn from many characters about the value of money.

Money Isn't Everything in Literature

We read the stories of many famous characters that are so obsessed with money they do not realize the actions they take can ruin so many things. In the story, A Christmas Carol , we see Ebenezer Scrooge learn about his impending death and how his reputation was of someone that was always cheap or stingy. As he realized money isn't everything he knew to be generous with it.

From Greek Mythology, we learn of King Midas and his golden touch. The pride he felt as he could touch anything and everything, and it turned into gold. This was a magical touch that people would wish to have. He knew he was cursed when he realized even the food and drank that he would touch turned to gold.

My wife and I finished watching the movie The Wishing Dragon on Netflix, and the dragon throughout the film pushed the main character Din to wish for all the money in the world. As the movie progresses, you see that the dragon realizes life is not about money. It is about the relationships you create with others.

These are just a few examples. As you watch movies and read books, there are many examples of how money can corrupt, and the essential things to live life are not surrounding money. We need to realize that there are more important things to value in life than money.

Money Isn't Everything to Me

As I live my life, I realize that the relationships I build and the people who come into it are more important. Money does not control my actions. The things I value control my actions.

I valued the relationship I have with friends and family. They are so important to me and I continue to build those. My wife is also another important relationship to me. Every day I hope to make it stronger with greater bonds.

Being healthy is so important. I have watched many people allow health to wither away as they strive for money or success. Health to me is vital, so I can accomplish many things in my life. I want to hike, climb, swim, and play outdoors. If my health has been compromised due to money obsession, it will be a waste.

As I have learned these many things, I want to share a couple of items that are more important than money with you.

Here Are 8 Things That Are More Important than Money:

1. living life.

The realization that we live life not just for money, but for living life instead. Yes, money can create avenues for success, but it is not what life is about. Life comes with problems, but with blessings as well.

Many different things can cause problems in our life. Money is not the solution to these problems at all. We cannot live for it to solve our problems. Life is a bit more complicated than that. If you feel that life is boring, money will not solve that problem. It will give you avenues to make it more exciting, but living for it will not solve these problems.

Life is about enjoying experiences, learning new things, having meaningful relationships, and valuing things outside of the realm of wealth. Money isn't going to bring some of these important things into your life. It will be a tool to make these things happen, but it has to come from something inside you.

2. Relationships Are More Important

Relationships come first in life. Living life without friends or family only for the sake of money is a lonely experience. It brings on resentment, regret, and a feeling of solitude. We see this perfectly in the story of Ebenezer Scrooge. His relationships were thrown away for money, and therefore he missed out on a possible love of his life, and the people around him mock him for his penny-pinching ways.

As we build relationships with others, let's not look like the cheap person that will choose not to spend time because of money, but let's desire to be the person that is generous with our time and money. Money isn't  everything, and it is evident in the people we spend time with.

3. Time is More Valuable

You have heard the saying “Time is Money.” That is the truth of it. Money can buy us time, but if we are constantly working to achieve more money, we are spending our time, and it is hard to get that back.

Time is a commodity that cannot be bought. As life goes on, we spend our time. It is the currency that people want to buyback. As we sit in our old age, we have to wonder if we waste our time or spend it doing things we love?

I think back to the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Ben Stiller plays the part of Walter. He takes an epic adventure to find the last picture for the magazine. As you watch, you know that his learning to live his life through an experience that changes how he views his time.

Remember not to obsess and chase after money. Time is more valuable than the amount of money you have at the end of your life.

4. Happiness is more Important

We are under the impression that the more money you have, the more happiness that will come with it. A study said that the most happiness would come from a salary making around $75,000 . The more money you made would not make you that much happier.

As you work for money, do remember that often we have to work longer hours. True happiness does not come from sitting in an office all day and night working away to obtain more money. As we gather even more money, it cannot provide the additional dopamine we need.

Something that would bring us more happiness is freedom. Freedom from the constraints of money is our goal to live life.

Money isn't everything, but freedom is everything.

5. Health is More Important

Another reason money isn't everything is because of what it does to our health. The stress, the world, and the obsession over obtaining money can strain our health. We lack the motivation to go and exercise. Cooking at home becomes a lost art, and we prefer to indulge in unhealthy snacks and take-out food.

If your sole purpose in life was to go and get as much money as possible, you would eventually start sacrificing your health in the process. It is also essential to take care of the mental status of your health. Stress can cause unnerving mental fatigue. Being healthy is way more important than money.

6. Being Generous

Money isn't everything, especially when we have been given so much. It is time to be generous. With much money, you can give more away. You can provide this money and time to people. Being willing to give is a huge thing.

My wife and I are Christians, and we believe that God has given us so much and it is good to give back. Being generous can include so much as giving your time, money, and talents to help those around us. It can be as easy as spending a day with the homeless just listening to their stories. You could even invite some of your closest friends over for dinner. Giving is caring.

7. Experiences Are Better Than Money

It is amazing how much experiences can affect your life. Travel, experiencing the world, and learning from new things can bring about great value into your life. These experiences will bring about more to your life than money will ever.

Learning from people and exploring the places around us give us opportunities to grow. These experiences are pivotal in shaping who we are. Money can buy a lot of things, but experiences stay with us much longer.

Stop buying possessions and start buying experiences. This is something that will outshine money in the short and long term. The memories will last you until you can no longer remember them.

8. Life Is Better Than Dying With Money

No matter how rich you are, the money cannot come with you in the afterlife. People believe the more money they have, the greater they will be. Once you die, it no longer matters. That amount of money will never be able to go with you to the grave.

You have a choice. Either you make money a priority or make everything else higher on the list, like relationships. Relationships with people will affect people for generations. At the same time, cash will die off when you die off. The choice is yours.

Final Thoughts:

Money isn't everything. It is a tool we use to make things happen. We can use it to create wealth, help people out, and experience many things in the world. It is not what life is all about. We need to realize that life is not about money.

To many people, money can help life them out of all sorts of poverty. The thing is, you need to know how to manage it. 78% of pro-NFL football players lose everything and go broke. It is not because they didn't make enough money. It is because they did not know how to manage it.

Learning to manage money will also help you understand that money isn't everything. There are plenty of things that are in life to strive to reach. For instance, time, relationships, generosity, and your health can be items that have a far greater value on your life than money. It is time to see what do you value.

Do you put money above everything?

I’m Steve. I’m an English Teacher, traveler, and an avid outdoorsman. If you’d like to comment, ask a question, or simply say hi, leave me a message here, on Twitter (@thefrugalexpat1). Many of my posts have been written to help those in their journey to financial independence. I am on my journey, and as I learn more I hope to share more.  And as always, thanks for reading The Frugal Expat.

7 thoughts on “Money Isn’t Everything. 8 Things That Are More Important”

Money sure isn’t everything. This profound idea was engraved into my head when I was watching an episode of Suits when one investment banker told his boss, “we can still get money from the deal, all you have to do..” and the boss cuts him off and immediately says “there isn’t enough money in the world to ever trust you again”.

I applied that lesson when a coworker asked me if she could have the option to stay with me during her rotation and I politely told her no. At that point, even if she offered me a billion dollars per month to pay as rent, I would have still said no.

Great list, Steve! It’s good that personal finance bloggers are getting this idea out there to the world.

Thank you David. I know as Finance bloggers we talk about delaying gratification, saving money, stop spending so much money, and invest more. The thing is that we also need to realize that even without money how would our lives be like. I believe in using my time to have experiences and spend time creating relationships. These relationships are paramount to life.

That is a great example from Suits . You really do have to have a moral background and be the person to give that polite “no”

Spot on. I think (hope) I’ve done a good job of balancing a priority for experiences with my savings goals. In fact, I tend to pick up too many tabs once those first couple beers go down haha. But I do need to work on other relationships and spending the appropriate amount of time (and money) to make them work. If this last year has taught us anything, it’s that nothing matters without your health–something many people take for granted until they have no choice but to confront it.

I see health as a great thing to focus on. What’s the point of money if you die young due to stress and money issues. I see my father that is overweight, and he knows and works on his health, but at some point it becomes more important for us to live a better healthy life than chase after money while sitting at our desks for 40+ years of our lives.

Relationships is another important part. As I can see, you are creating relationships. It is important to foster relationships with people. My wife had her birthday today. She decided to buy lunch for everyone in the office. She just felt it was great to be generous to her colleagues, and in that type of fashion, they felt the same way and gifted her with cake.

These are great things to learn and hear from so many people. Thank you for this.

Steve, to piggyback off your insights.

The best things in life are not thing$. The best things in life are not thing$ you buy.

I have some money, but I have always felt rich (oddly enough). I have been ever mindful that most of the world’s population goes to bed hungry, no AC, no microwave, no stereo, no refrigerator, no car, no indoor plumbing.

I think this perspective of feeling grateful has helped me over the years.

Gary, you are right. It is amazing to see what we have and the feeling of gratefulness for being blessed. The best things in life are not things. They are the relationships, experiences, and things you just cannot buy. I love your perspective and agree 100%.

Money is 100% just a tool for us to navigate life in the best way we can for us. Relationships and health are far more important than money. We are trying to get to a position where we can work less and be generous with our time and volunteer. Great post Steve!

Money Is Not Everything: Importance of Other Life Factors

  • March 13, 2022
  • Marina Avramovic

Money Is Not Everything

Money is not everything . This may be a difficult thing to accept, especially if you are someone who is always chasing after the almighty dollar. There are many other things in life that are important, and you should never forget that.

In this blog post, we will discuss the importance of other life factors and why they are so important.

Money Makes the World Go Around

People often say that “ money is not everything but everything is money .” And it’s true – in the grand scheme of things, money doesn’t mean all that much. But that doesn’t mean it’s unimportant. In fact, having a lot of money can make a big difference in your life.

Think about what you could do with an extra $1,000 per month. You could afford to pay for a nicer apartment or travel more often with your family. You could even save up for a down payment on a house! Money certainly isn’t everything, but it definitely makes life a lot easier.

Moreover, the results of a new study on money suggest higher earners (that make $75,000 per year) are much happier in their lives.

Does this mean that money should be our number one priority? As mentioned above, being financially stable is important, but to understand the money is not everything meaning , we need to dig much deeper.

The Mythology of Money

In the wealthy vs. rich debate , you might think that being rich is the most crucial thing in the world since it’s often associated with earning a lot of cash and becoming a millionaire. However, this kind of mindset also creates a false perception of what it means to be wealthy.

Enter king Midas. You’ve probably heard the story of King Midas, who was given a unique gift by the god Dionysus. Everything he touches will turn to gold. Sounds like an excellent plan for early retirement, right? Especially when you know that today a ton of gold amounts to a whopping $55,582,130.

But, again, money is not everything in life . While our hero, Midas, became wealthier than ever, he could not eat or drink, and he even turned his precious daughter into a golden statue once he touched her.

The moral of the story? Be careful about what you wish for and understand your intentions before taking (financial) action.

The Scrooge Syndrome

If you’re an avid reader, you’ve probably stumbled upon the money is not everything maxim in a book by Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol .

Here, the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge, neglects everything with his bah-humbug attitude, including his family, in order to accumulate wealth.

I n an alternative future, he dies alone and forgotten.

A Christmas Carol teaches us that our personal growth and being authentic are the things that make us wealthy. This is more important than the size of our annual income .

Changing the Money Paradigm

Money isn’t everything since it can’t buy us the essential things in life: health and love.

Love Doesn’t Cost a Thing

One of the most important things in life is your relationships. Friends and family are the people who will be there for you through thick and thin, and they are worth more than any amount of money.

If you don’t have a strong network of support, then you need to work on building one. Spend time with your friends and family, go out for coffee or dinner, and just enjoy each other’s company.

The First Wealth is Health

To understand the money isn’t everything meaning , we’ll talk about another important area of your life — your health.

True, if you’re rich, you’ll have access to the best dietitians and personal trainers on the planet, but they won’t be able to save you from all the illnesses in the world.

For example, the famous Beatle, George Harrison, lost his battle with cancer, although he had a net worth of $400 million at the time of his death . Not even Steve Jobs could fool death, though that famous speech about the worthlessness of money is not really his .

Money is not everything, Warren Buffett would say, i.e., “Money will not change how healthy you are or how many people love you.”

Strive Not to Be a Success, but Rather to Be of Value

Your personal growth is another area that is important in life. You should always be working on becoming a better person. This means learning new things, challenging yourself, and growing as an individual.

If you don’t work on your personal growth, you will stagnate and never reach your full potential.

You Deserve to Have a Job That Fulfills You

Since it’s tightly linked to our careers and finances, is money everything in our life ? While both are important, they should not be the only things you focus on in life or you may burn out and end up hating going to work .

Make sure that you are taking time to enjoy your hobbies and interests, and do not put all of your eggs in one basket. If you focus too much on your career or finances, you will miss out on other aspects of life.

Moreover, ask yourself, is working at a job that doesn’t fulfill you worth it? Even if you make 60k per year , you’ll never be truly satisfied if your job negatively affects your personal life.

This phrase about money not being everything is cliché for a reason. While money can buy you some happiness, it doesn’t always equate to a good life or a meaningful existence. So what does make us happy?

Things like strong relationships, feeling connected to something bigger than ourselves (like being part of a community), and having a purpose in life.

What does money is not everything mean?

This maxim suggests that no matter how much money you have in your bank account, this doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll lead a happy and fulfilling life. As you can see from our post, money can’t buy you love, friends, or health.

In other words, money doesn’t define you. It’s simply one of the means to reach financial security.

Why money isn’t the most important thing in life?

Money is an integral part of our lives, but it’s not the most important thing. There are many other factors that are just as — or even more — important.

Some people might think that having a lot of money means you’re successful, but that’s not always the case. Many wealthy people are unhappy.

So what are the most important things in life? Here are just a few: happiness, family and friends, health, and passion.

Who said money is not everything ?

Many famous people quoted this maxim, like the American professional baseball pitcher, Earl Wilson, and actress Zsa Zsa Gábor. However, one person made this term more popular than ever.

That person is Warren Buffett, an American investor, philanthropist, business magnate, and the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. Buffett is one of the most successful investors and the eighth-wealthiest person in the world. His net worth amounts to more than $114 billion.

He said that money is not everything and that one saying the opposite had better first earned a lot of money in order to give such a statement.

  • The Myth of Money as the Ultimate Goal

Money Is Not the Only Measure of Success

Why happiness can't be bought, health over wealth: the priceless currency, time: the currency you can never earn more of, cultivating relationships: riches money cannot afford, finding fulfillment: when work is not just a paycheck, stories of lives fulfilled without fortune, the world's greatest entrepreneurs: success beyond the dollar signs, final thoughts, frequently asked questions, key takeaways.

  • Money is not synonymous with happiness; genuine joy and contentment stem from personal connections, health, and fulfilling experiences.
  • Maintaining a balanced lifestyle, investing time wisely, and valuing relationships can offer fulfillment that far surpasses financial wealth.
  • The stories of passionate individuals and impactful entrepreneurs highlight success measured not by money but by positive contributions to the world.

Have you ever asked yourself if a hefty bank balance is the benchmark for a successful life? Society often dangles the carrot of financial abundance, suggesting this is the route to happiness. But, tell me, have you noticed how the richest individuals are not always the most content?

This fascinating disconnect is what we’re going to understand today. Let’s challenge the traditional narrative that places money on a pedestal and explore the vibrant facets of life where true joy and satisfaction are not found in your bank account.

Success – it's a loaded word, isn't it? Often equated with a lot of zeroes in your bank account. Yet, is that all there is to it?

Think about it. The accolades you've earned, the bond you have with friends and family, and your health. These are measured in moments, memories, and milestones, not currency. Here are some ways success manifests that money can't even touch:

  • Personal fulfillment: Achieving your dreams, no matter the scale, brings a profound sense of accomplishment that no salary can match.
  • Good character: Integrity, kindness, and generosity shape legacies that survive far beyond material wealth.
  • Rich relationships: The wealthiest moments often come from laughter shared, support given, and love exchanged .
  • Simple joys: The bliss of a sunset, the joy of doing what you love, or the peace of a quiet morning – priceless.

Society may not hold a grand ceremony for these quiet victories, but they engrave deeper worth into the story of who we are. After all, when looking back on life, it is these important aspects we remember, not the balance sheet.

a happy guy winning at life, finding his happiness in finishing marathons

Can you acquire happiness like a well-tailored suit or a brand-new car? Surprisingly, no! There's an assumption that the more you own, the happier you'll be.

But let's be honest, have you ever seen an item that can guarantee a lifelong supply of joy? Research has shown there's a cap to the contentment that money can bring, usually, it starts from $75,000 in annual revenue. The reality? It's our experiences, relationships, and sense of community that build a resilient foundation for happiness.

  • Experiences Vs Possessions: Memories made from new experiences contribute to lasting happiness more than material items.
  • Quality over Quantity: Investing in quality time with loved ones brings joy that outshines any physical object's allure.
  • Generosity's Reward: Sharing with others creates a more meaningful sense of satisfaction than simply accumulating more.

It’s those uncontrollable laughs with friends, the satisfaction from helping someone in need, or the pride from personal achievements that fill our happiness cup, making it overflow – not a heavy wallet. So, while money is useful, it definitely doesn't hold the key to unlocking true happiness.

Let's face it – if good health could be bought, the richest would live forever. But as nature dictates, health isn't a luxury item up for bidding; it’s the foundation upon which we build our days, dreams, and discoveries.

Here’s what matters more than financial gain when it comes to your well-being:

  • A Balanced Lifestyle: Regular exercise and a nutritious diet are investments in your health that don't necessarily require a large expenditure.
  • Mental Peace: The relief that comes from stress-free moments and mental clarity is something your health appraises highly, yet no bank can evaluate.
  • Preventive Care: Like the maintenance of a cherished home, regular health check-ups are vital, and while they might cost, ignoring them can lead to higher expenses in the future.

Remember, wealth might afford you the best medical care, but it's the habitual day-to-day choices that most influence your health. To live a long, vibrant life, nurture your wellness – it's the most valuable asset you have.

When it comes to life's finite resources, time is undoubtedly at the top. Unlike money, once spent, you can't earn, invest, or save time for later use. The moments we have are exclusive, never to be relived.

So the question stands: are you spending your time in a way that aligns with your values and brings joy to your life?

Here's how time's value incredibly outweighs monetary worth:

  • Live in the Moment: Savoring current experiences enriches your life more than any financial asset.
  • Follow your Passion: Time invested in hobbies or causes resonates with personal values, offering far deeper gratification than a number on a check.
  • Build your Legacy: The hours you spend impacting lives or creating something of lasting worth offer dividends in fulfillment that wealth seldom rivals.

To sum up, time is the non-renewable currency spent daily. Reflect on how you budget your time - it may just be the most critical portfolio you manage.

a sand timer running out of time

Digging deep into the soil of what truly matters in life, you discover the treasure of relationships that flourish beyond fiscal metrics. Imagine the most affluent person you know - without meaningful connections, would their life feel complete? Probably not.

Relationships are the network of support, love, and camaraderie that outshine any material gain. Here's why they're valued beyond wealth:

  • Social Connections: Bonds with others contribute significantly to our feelings of security and belonging, which are not purchasable commodities.
  • Companionship's Warmth: The comfort of a trusted companion during life's upswings and downtimes is something that money can never guarantee.
  • Emotional Wealth: The rich emotional experiences shared with friends and family accumulate in the vault of our hearts, where no lock and key is needed.

In essence, the relationships we have and maintain pay dividends in ways far richer and more meaningful than any currency could ever hope to achieve. Cherish them; they're your real fortune.

How often do you hear the phrase, " Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life "? It's a sentiment that rings true for many who seek more from their careers than monetary gain.

Fulfillment at work comes from a sense of purpose, the satisfaction of contributing to something greater than yourself. It's about enjoying what you do and knowing it aligns with your deeper values. Consider the following comparisons:

Work becomes more than just a means to live when it also feeds your spirit and nurtures your life's mission. And remember, contentment in your job often translates to better health and happiness; something that's truly invaluable.

Let's take a moment to reflect on real-life narratives where individuals found profound happiness without a windfall. You might know someone - a teacher, a nurse, or an artist - whose life overflows with satisfaction despite not being financially affluent.

Their stories inspire and illuminate the essence of joy found in passion and purpose, not payouts.

These titles signify a trend; fulfillment stems more from purpose-driven work and less from the weight of one’s wallet. True wealth is measured in impactful deeds and the joy that infuses their lives as a result of those actions.

You might envision successful entrepreneurs backed by an abundance of riches. Yet, many achieved greatness not just through financial success but through innovation, resilience, and altering how we live.

Take figures like Warren Buffett , who's as well-known for his wealth as he is for his commitment to philanthropy. Or consider the stories behind projects on crowdfunding platforms, where visions become reality fueled by community support, not deep pockets.

These entrepreneurial spirits show that while money can be a sign of business achievements, the real triumph is in offering value to society, solving critical problems, and pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible. It's their contributions to our lives and the world that immortalize their names, not just their financial statements.

As we've looked into the different aspects where money is not sovereign, it's clear that life's best treasures are often the ones that carry no price tag. They're found in the quality of our relationships, the richness of our personal experiences, the fulfillment we find in our work, and the integrity of our character. So let me tell you once again: " Money is Not Everything!"

At Life Architekture , we are here to guide you in rediscovering these values and building a life that, while fiscally responsible, is fundamentally led by purpose and joy. Through our transformational coaching , we can design a life that cherishes the wealth found in every moment, connection, and endeavor, beyond the fleeting allure of currency.

Why is money not considered everything in life?

Money, while useful for meeting basic needs, cannot buy happiness, deep connections, or the fulfillment derived from living a purposeful life.

Can we live a fulfilling life without wealth?

Yes, fulfillment in life often comes from meaningful work, relationships, and personal growth—none of which require great wealth.

What truly defines success if not money?

Success is characterized by personal achievements, integrity, strong relationships, and contributions to society, rather than financial status.

Does money influence overall happiness?

While money can provide comfort and security, it has a limited impact on long-term happiness, which is more deeply rooted in intangible aspects of life.

What are some ways to enjoy life without focusing on money?

Enjoy life by engaging with loved ones, pursuing passions, contributing to your community, and appreciating simple pleasures.

Speech on Money for Students and Children

Speech on money.

Hello everyone, I am here to present a speech on Money. Money is anything that people use to buy goods and services. Money is also that people receive for selling their own things or services. Most countries have their own kind of money such as the United States has a dollar, Britain has pound and Indian has rupees. Money is also called by many other names such as currency or cash.

Types of Money

There are different types of money as commodity money, convertible money, inconvertible money, bank deposit, and electronic money. Commodity money can be used for other purposes besides serving as a medium of exchange. Cattle, silk, gold, and silver are some examples of commodity money.

Convertible paper is money that can be converted into gold and silver. Inconvertible money is the money that we cannot convert into gold and silver. Notes and coins are inconvertible money. Such type of money is a country’s legal tender.

Money is an essential commodity that helps run our lives. Exchanging goods for goods is an older practice and without any money, we can buy anything we wish. Money has become important because people are trying to save wealth for their future needs. Rich people are rich as they know or realize the true value of money. It is a general saying that money stays in the hands of people who know its value.

Money also affects Relationships

There are many people who grow hatred between each other only because of money. There are also people who treat rich people with respect and poor people with disrespect. Women also prefer men who are rich and powerful for marriage. Thus money also has the power to make and break relationships.

It’s important to earn money but it’s also important to save money. Someone has rightly said that if you save money today, the money will save you in the future. If you work hard and spend all the money then it’s of no sense. Saved money can also help you in older age and in times of medical emergencies.

There are many schemes of government that encourages and help people who want to save a portion of their income as savings. Investment is also an option of saving.  One can adopt any kind of investment after proper consultation.

There are several ways to earn money but one should always concentrate on earning money through legal means. As said in our purans, that one should work to earn Gaja Laxmi, which will come slowly. It will come through legal means and stay for long. One should never work to earn money which comes from illegal means. This type of money will come quickly and will go more quickly.

At last, money makes the world revolve and function. Money satisfies our needs and gives us pleasure and satisfaction. Money can bring us everything but money is not everything. One should value relationships more than money. People and our relationship with each other are more important than money.

Money should be utilized for the betterment of society. Rich people should help and respect poor people. We should also inculcate in our children, habit of saving from an early age. Money, if used wisely and properly, will contribute to the building of a strong, developed and powerful nation.

Speech on Money

One of the most important aspects of everyone's life is money. We require money to purchase a variety of items for ourselves, ranging from the simplest to the largest. Money is also the source of any country's economic balance or imbalance. At various moments, you may be asked to give a speech on money. We'll show you some money speech examples that will help you give an excellent speech to your audience.   If you need to give a one-minute speech anywhere, you can utilize the short speech on money. The language is simple yet powerful for any occasion.

Long and Short Speech on Money

For this money is speech, let's understand what money is. It is an essential commodity that is exchanged when one consumes products or services for themselves. Possessing money by people can be very useful to provide them with all the resources necessary to fulfill their dreams. It can help in so many ways, but it is also important to understand it is not everything. Having enough is good enough for leading a comfortable life. In this article, we will look into various ways of presenting money as speech, or money is not speech. It can be a Long Speech on Money or a Short Speech on Money.

Long Speech on Money

Many people believe that money equals free speech, in this form of speech we will dive into these details and this can be helpful for students in grades 8-12 who are trying to understand the workings of the world.

Good Morning everyone, honorable Principal, respected teachers and my dear friends, I Abc (mention your name) am here to enlighten you with the learnings  I had when I was trying to understand the importance of money. It is certainly an asset to have access to this commodity, especially at a time when the prices are only rising. Money also definitely gives you the power to fulfill your dreams, be it attaining a quality education, traveling, starting a business, owning a luxurious car or helping your immediate family also fulfill their dreams.

It however has a way to bring out the worst in people as they become greedy, and try to earn more than necessary and not always by legal means. Those who have an abundance of it are the rich and they are in a position of power to dictate the lives of others, especially ones who lack and are at a disadvantage here.

It is assumed that money is free speech, which suggests when an individual or a community with money has the freedom to be upfront about their opinions and notions about anyone or anything without having to deal with any consequence. But this idea for the large part does not hold because the supreme court money is speech and is not just limited to money. Rather it emphasizes that everyone has the freedom to speak without interference and not be limited by fear.

It is very evident in our daily lives that not everybody has access to everything one needs or desires. People with money have also worked hard to reach a stage where they can not worry about anything and can afford luxuries without feeling guilty. People who follow the righteous path for earning money by putting in a lot of hard work and perseverance value this commodity. And are also aware of other people's hardships and help them in their ways. These people also uplift the credibility of the society they live in.

Whereas people who are only driven by greed engage in illegal means of earning money and even after that they are dissatisfied and wish to earn even more and not even consider the struggles of other people.

Money is truly a double-edged sword, while on one hand, it can give you a certain level of respect and status in society. But it can also rob you of the time where you can enjoy life with the money you earned, spending time by yourself or your loved ones. One is always on the go when driven by such a powerful commodity. So it is important to understand where to draw the line, not overwork and drain yourself in the process and use it for good purposes.

Short Speech on Money

For students in grades 4-7, this format of a short and brief speech is helpful, as this money speech is easy to convey using simple words .

Good morning everyone, I am here to speak on the topic of money. Money is one of the most important reasons which divides society into different classes. It is just a commodity to be exchanged for purchases, but it seeps into so much more deep-rooted ideas and ways of living.

When one possesses lots of it, they are the rich and upper class who can live an extravagant life and can fulfill their desires and dreams due to the easy access and availability of resources. And they lead a very privileged life.

Whereas the middle-class man and a middle-class family must be very diligent in saving up for the future, like for the education of their children, and invest their hard-earned money very cautiously. It is a hard life to tread when you lie in the middle of problems, and you cannot afford to even get out of it.

The lower-class who have only a bare minimum to get by the day and have no access to quality education or good food, live in very unhygienic places like slums toil extremely hard to earn a basic minimum wage.

This class difference in different communities creates a division in many things that is necessary for a good life. The rich have access to fine food, and the poor are only able to afford 1-2 meals a day. Everything divides these communities, in aspects of the school, food, home, vehicle, health because many poor children are facing the issue of malnutrition and the most crucial are better healthcare facilities. To support their families, children start working and the illegal practice of child labour increases.

There are a few organizations that try to help these underprivileged societies. This is a never-ending fight, but the gap only seems to be increasing.

Speech on Money in 150 words

Good morning, a warm welcome to everyone present here. Today, I am going to speak about the topic “Money”

Money is defined in a variety of ways. In terms of economics, it is defined as an economic unit that serves as a means of exchange in an economy. Money can be regarded as an item that is commonly accepted as payment for goods and services consumed. The three primary functions of money are the center of its interest. They are 1. The means of exchange: this is the medium through which goods and services are exchanged for money. 2. Unit of account: in economics, this refers to the monetary value of a product or service. 3. The term "store of value" refers to an asset that can be kept for future use and sold at a better price to profit financially.

Speech on Money

Good morning everyone.

I am here to give a speech on Money. None of us can exist in such a competitive society and world without money. We require money to meet our basic needs, such as purchasing food and other basics of life that are impossible to achieve without it. People who are wealthy and own property are regarded as respectable and respected members of society. A poor person, on the other hand, is seen with hatred and no good feelings. Money improves a person's social position and helps him create a positive image. We all want to get rich by making more money through business, a good job, a good business, and so on so that we can meet all the modern world's expanding needs. However, only a small percentage of people can fulfill their dream of becoming a billionaire. As a result, money is a significant factor in one's life.

Money cannot purchase or stop time, nor can it buy true love and caring. However, it is still required by all to keep life on the proper track. Even though money cannot buy us time or love, it can buy us happiness, confidence, fulfillment, and physical and mental well-being. As a result, we can go about our daily lives with ease and overcome even the most challenging problems.

10 Line Speech on Money

This is helpful for explaining to the students in grades 1-3 to understand in short and simple sentences.

Money is very important for getting the resources useful for living a good life.

It is the commodity used as a means or mode of exchange when in consumption of a product or service.

Everyone needs it, but one has to strive hard to earn, save and grow forward with it.

It can be cash, which is usually a note or coin that is now used as an exchange commodity.

Earlier, the barter system was used and slowly gold and silver coins were introduced leading up to today.

One must have enough to survive with the access and availability of basic resources like food, clean water and shelter.

To have a better life with good healthcare, schooling, and luxuries, one must possess a lot of it.

One who has more holds a lot of power and commands respect from others in society.

Money need not necessarily be directly proportional to happiness, but it sure does give you the means to fulfill your dreams and desires.

It has to be smartly invested for it to be of help in this ever-increasing expense of the world.

FAQs on Speech on Money in English for Students

1. What is the need to save money?

After basic essentials such as food, shelter, and clothing, money is by far the most important thing required. The fact that you need to save money for future crises, business troubles, travel, any type of emergency, achieving a long-cherished dream, or anything else should not be forgotten. 2. What are the things to keep in mind while giving a speech?

There are certain things that you need to keep in mind while giving a speech:

Make direct eye contact with your audience to connect with them and give them the impression that you're speaking directly to them.

Stick to the time limit and be concise and tight without diverting from the topic.

To draw your audience into your world, use your words to create a picture of your subject.

Try to overcome the fear of lack of confidence.

Always speak slowly and steadily, as this gives the audience more time to absorb and remember information.

Speech on Money

Money is one of the essential factors in everyone’s life. We all need money to get everything from the smallest to the biggest things for ourselves and our loved ones. Money is also the cause of economic balance and growth in any country, resulting in advancement.

We all know that money is the most important element without which we can’t dream about anything in our lives. We all know about the importance of money and the various things money can do.  Needless to say, money is an important source of anything when it comes to either purchasing goods or availing any services from anyone. The importance of money is growing daily as our lives continue; money is also needed to enjoy the good things and live a comfortable life full of happiness.

Humans primarily invented and produced money as a common denomination for the trade and exchange of goods and services. In the previous days, money was the most needed thing and secondary to the ethical principles of a person in society.

We all agree with the fact that it is important to earn more and more money not only to lead a good and satisfying life but also to ensure the safety of our loved ones. In modern days, it is proved that money is required for emergencies such as accidents, natural calamities, etc. I believe that the desire and enthusiasm for earning more money makes a person competitive and agile in many fields.

We know that less money can meet your present needs but may not protect you from future mishaps or accidents. Therefore in our life, more money is certainly needed for an unseen and safe future.

No culture says you should overlook your responsibilities and duties towards your family members and become a sage. It is important that you do all your duties required for your family members as per your ability; for this, we need money.

In the economy of modern times, money can be found in various forms, such as paper, metals, plastic cards, e-wallets, traveler’s checks, coupons, etc. It’s, of course, the value that gives money its due worth in every case. Besides earning more money, one should also give proper attention to saving money for the future as an important task.

One should always look for different methods to earn and save money. But you should never adopt illegal methods or indulge in crimes to earn money quickly. Illegally earned money may give you happiness for a short time but may later bring unhappiness. So we have to set targets for what is achievable for us. Thus, we should only focus on working hard and discharging our roles and duties towards our dear and near ones, society, and ourselves.

Long and Short Speech on Money

Money causes the world to rotate and operate. Money meets our requirements while also providing us with pleasure and fulfillment. Money can provide us with everything, but it is not everything. Relationships should be valued more than money. Money is not as vital as people and our relationships with one another. Money should be used for societal improvement. Rich individuals should assist and appreciate the underprivileged. We should also instill the habit of saving in our children early. Money may help establish a strong, developed, and powerful nation when handled wisely and efficiently.

Short Speech On Money

I’ve come to make a speech on money. None of us can live in such a competitive culture and globe without money. We need money to satisfy our fundamental requirements, such as buying food and other necessities of life that are hard to get without it. Wealthy people with the property are seen as respectable and respected members of society. On the other hand, a poor individual is seen negatively and with no pleasant sentiments. Money elevates a person’s social standing and aids in the creation of a favorable image. We all want to become wealthy by producing more money through commerce, a good job, a successful business, and so on, to fulfill all of the contemporary world’s rising wants. Money cannot buy or halt time, nor can it buy genuine love and care. Money cannot purchase time or love, but it can purchase happiness, confidence, contentment, and physical and mental well-being. Consequently, we may go about our everyday lives without difficulty and conquer even the most difficult challenges.

Speech on money in 150 words

Nobody can survive without money in today’s expensive, competitive culture and planet. We need money to meet our fundamental requirements, such as buying food and other basics that are nearly hard to obtain without money. Moreover, wealthy people with property are seen as honorable and respectable members of society, whereas the impoverished are regarded as hateful and untrustworthy. Money elevates a person’s social standing and creates a favorable opinion. Therefore, we all aspire to be wealthy by earning more money through successful work or business to meet the ever-increasing demands of the modern age. However, only a few people are allowed to realize their ambition of becoming a billionaire. As a result, money is extremely important throughout one’s life. Everyone needs money, whether affluent or poor, living in cities or the countryside. Individuals in urban regions earn more money than people in rural or backward areas because urban dwellers have more access to technology and more opportunities due to easier access to resources.

‘Money’ is not everything but ‘Everything’ needs money (Money is not everything).

Published by Lisa Martin on March 27, 2024

Money is not Everything

Money is not everything , It’s a famous saying that all the best things in life are free but not everything is free in life. You need to survive in this world and for that we need money, we can’t just survive on values, good manners and humanity we need food and other basic necessity for our survival in this world.

Money is not everything

There are things in our life we take them dear to us like our family, friends and our best memories these are all free and are our strength. They are considered a person’s priceless assets which can’t be replaceable.

No doubt money is important to live our lives comfortably because things don’t come free, we need money to buy material things and items for our survival. People who have no money become homeless, nobody takes care of them so money has its value nobody can deny.

Money is not everything

We can easily count a blessing which doesn’t require money happiness and honesty are the rare things of life they are our treasure and has cost us nothing. But food and shelter are also our basic needs which can’t be bought through happiness or honesty for them you need money. Let me give you a list of things money can’t buy: Money is not everything

  • Common sense
  • Peace of mind
  • Positive attitude

Here are some details of important points

Rich persons are usually sad

Ok, so that you’d moderately be lonely in your beachfront villa than your flat within the native city – however you only have to have a look at the tabloid information to see that the lives of the rich and well-known are removed from rosy.

High profile divorces, child custody battles and generally dependency points exhibits that cash won’t assure success in your private life.

You can’t purchase love

With tens of millions within the financial institution how are you going to ensure that the love of your life is genuinely taken with you as an individual?

The world well-known MMA fighter Conor McGregor met his associate when he was unemployed, broke and struggling to begin his profession.

Years on, he trusts no-one extra to be by his side now he’s hit the large time than the lady who believed in him at his lowest level.

You can’t take it with you

The old saying rings true – no one on their demise mattress might be rejoicing of their many homes, automobiles, watches and possessions they left behind.

They’re who’s beside them sharing their ultimate days – household, associates, colleagues, kids and grandchildren.

At that second in your existence materials issues imply little or no, they will in fact cross on some wealth and stability to these you’re keen on however except you’re having a 24 carat gold coffin it’s no use to you as a lot as love is.

Money merely can not purchase you well being.

You can have a coach to encourage you and lots of rich individuals could have a chef too to maintain them on observe. But no quantity of wealth can assure you’ll by no means develop a severe illness, or a incapacity.

The ultimate working example is household – and this consists of your folks too – no amount of cash on the planet can substitute the enjoyment that your family members can carry to you, and also you to them.

They would possibly drive you loopy generally however they’re the best factor that cash can’t purchase.

“I don’t need money, money needs me”

Money has its own role in our lives and it has great power in our lives, we get sick we need money to get ourselves checked up from doctors and good education also needs money. Its true money makes things easy for us and in our society, it has the power to discriminate rich and poor.

A big motivation is required to earn money and it’s not easy to earn you have to work hard for it. Big changes required money you just can’t stand up and say I will change this and that you need solid background and enough money for it too.

Money is not everything, Great people required motivation first to change this world than comes the money like Gandhi, Ibrahim Lincoln, Dalai Lama and Quaid e Azaam they all started their movements after getting motivated and after that they need money they work on a vision but they also can’t deny the value of money.

Money is not everything but money buys things too. When you want to do something great for the society you need resources and they will not come by themselves but it’s also true that when you start fighting for something nature starts helping you.

Art of living

What art of living? Living like a legend, people get inspired by you and want to follow your steps. But for this, you need money to maintain your lifestyle. For feeding your family you need money but with less money but good thinking and art you can survive in it too.

Your children need a good education so invest in it first then go for other luxuries . This is a long-term investment you are doing and it will surely pay off. Things don’t stop happening we had to follow lives track.

Money is not everything

Never worried about how money is going to come just try your best and work hard you won’t even remember after some time and get used to it.

keep traveling places for finding best for you and your family Money is not everything.

Just start your journey and things will fall into a place people will join you first start the walk and then you can run too. Step by step little by little you will grow and you will surely see the difference and then don’t forget to be thankful to God and your dear ones in this process.

Intentions of  Money is not everything

We need to keep our intention and our heart pure, good work requires hard work resources can come during the process. You just need encouragement and for this, your family is there for you always.

Our main principle in life should be the art of living and you can carry it forward easily if you work hard and stay focused. Don’t be hesitant to say no to things you don’t need and only buy things that are essential for you.

You can modify useless things into useful ones and reused old stuff easily. If you keep this motto in life you will successes hugely. You need resources when you want to do something good and for that, you need to save some money.

Think ahead of time and save few pennies for your future. Never overspend than your capacity.

Budgeting Money is not everything

Make a proper budget and follow it without cheating. Divide grocery and clothes and other things and allot according to it. You can have dinner outside once a month and can save instead for the long holidays once a year.

If you keep spending more than your budget you will be broke soon. Introduce such lifestyle in your home that is according to your earnings. Money is no doubt an essential component of our life and has great economic value.

In early years there was a system of barter but then gradually paper money was introduced which now is at its peak value. Every element in this world has its economic value. Everything is available at some price.

Money is not everything

Money is necessary for establishing the value of goods and services. So its normal to say money is everywhere than saying money is everything . We need money for everything.

Opinion Money is not everything

In my opinion, its wrong to say that money buys everything yes we do need money but what we need most is happiness, smiles, and laughter of our loved ones nothing can be compared to these things. For luxury you need money but for values and memories, you just need people in your life. Things like love, fun, health, and friendship need no money.

Money Is Not Everything Essay. Great Role Of Money

The theme of money was relevant at all times. It seems to me that money appeared with humanity . Just at different times the money had a different appearance, but their function remains unchanged.

Many centuries ago a man faced the problem: it was necessary to find a way to measure the material world and evaluate the work of man. That was the time when people invented money. But most of the human inventions simultaneously carry in themselves both evil and blessing. Money is no exception. Today in our essay Our English academic writing service will tell you about the amazing power of money, and about its role in the life of modern people. If you have difficulties with writing papers - please contact us for help at any time of the day. We know the answers to all your questions. We write essays for money for many years. Well, let's find out what money is and why we need money for the happy everyday life. More information about us is on the website.

Essay about money. Is it happiness or trouble

Money is what drives all of humanity. It's unlikely that you will find anyone on the Earth who does not know what money is and why we need them. When we hear the word “money” , we immediately imagine different pieces of paper with numbers and special symbols. Thanks to these papers, we can safely live and develop.

Unfortunately, for many people, money has become the meaning of life. And so it was at all times. I will remind you one feature of money: no matter how much money you have - it is always a little! And do not try to refute this truth, you still will not succeed in this. Because many people have already tried to build their lives on money and as a result, they have been very unhappy. Sometimes it seems to me that money is something magical, something that if misused begins to bring misfortune and a curse.

Money is good

At first people go to school, then enter the college or university. As a result, we get a profession and start working. From this period people earn money and spend them wherever they want. Often they need to provide the family and themselves, of course. Since childhood, we hear that people who have a lot of money live well and happily. Therefore, a person immediately adjusts to the fact that he/she will work hard to have a lot of money. And at first there is nothing wrong with this, because if the money earned by honest labor it is normal.

If a person has money, he can buy himself food, a house, a car, clothes and other things necessary for life. Those who have money can freely travel around the world, study at the best educational institutions and not do all the work themselves.

In the films we see beautiful houses of rich people, their bright life, expensive cars and we dream about such life as well. Subconsciously we want to live the same way even if we don’t realize it. Therefore, a person should immediately think very clearly about the role and purpose of money in his life. Do not postpone this issue for later, otherwise it may be too late to think about it.

When I was a little girl I always thought that we would find a bag of money or dig a treasure chest. At such moments, I was sure. I would spend money on my relatives and parents, would buy them the things they have been dreaming of for many years. Then life would become easier and we would notice the beautiful around us. But with age we changed a lot and our independence or financial independence changes many views on life. As a result the wishes of our parents are pushed into the background. Why does this happen to most people? The answer is obvious - the destructive power of money is simply beginning to manifest itself. Thanks God, this does not happen to all people and not all fall under pernicious influence of money. But many people who acquire wealth lose their humanity. Use the services of our company and forget about problems with home tasks.

The destructive power of money

Often people understand that money can give them everything and think that this is the main thing in our life. The life of such people is like an endless pursuit of material values. Money takes possession of people and forces them to work, to work even harder, constantly to work and practically without days off. Then people get used (and a person can quickly get used to almost everything) and no longer notice that for the sake of money they are ready for anything: offend friends, make dishonest fraud in business, steal, and so on. Deceit, betrayal and crime, to risk their own happiness, family, career, freedom, health for the sake of enrichment - this becomes normal. In such cases people are motivated by one desire - to earn as much money as possible. It turns out that money steals our time, and the secret is that just the time is not sold for any money. As a result, friendship, family, good relationships with other people are not important at all. Some people are sure that money is the best motivator .

Money is a weapon and if use it incorrectly, it will kill us. I often ask my friends: do you ever have a rest?. And in response, I hear the standard phrase: Yes, you understand, I have no time now for the rest. I just need a lot of money and the work is still perfect for me. It is necessary to use the moment. Now I need to buy this and that, because everyone has and I do not have. Or another type of people is guided by the thought: no one else has this, but I will already have it.

Later, in adults who have lost their family, happiness, health, or even been jailed for money, you can ask whether the money is worth it. I am sure that they will all unanimously reply that it do not, just then they did not think about it. We forget that we will have to answer for everything and no bad actions will not remain unpunished. Many people forget that money brings happiness only in one case - when they refer to a person. Trouble comes when a person begins to serve money. This academic essays online service can write different papers for reasonable prices.

Once, I watched a small video where a person asks questions to God. And one of the questions was: what surprises you in people? God answered: they make money, lose health and spend money, restoring their health. Well, isn't it the deepest truth? I think a person is very lucky, if for money he can regain lost health. After all, doctors are often helpless to help even if the patient offers huge amounts of money.

There is not only a material world that we know and see. We must not forget about the existence of the spiritual world, this is a world of kindness, love, morality, moral principles, respect for the rest. These two worlds are equally important, because it is impossible to live a life without money . But if we focus only on our job and profit, then it will be the same as cutting off one's own hand or shortening life in half.

Often in the news or even in history, one can find cases when rich people die from narcotics or suicide. Honestly I probably never understand such people. How can you not appreciate your life if you need nothing? When you have everything, and others just dream to live at least a couple of days having such a life. This custom dissertation writing service is one of the best.

Money brings power and today if you are an influential person - you mean to be very rich. Your character and life position do not mean anything in society, if you do not have a profitable business. People lose kindness, mercy, humanity if they want to have enormous power.

It would be nice if those who really need help could get it from rich people. But this rarely happens. Money changes people and very often we become such people we said they never will be. They become selfish, evil, cruel and very greedy. And all this because of the destructive power of money over people.

The role of money in my life

Now it's time to share my own thoughts on how important money is in person's everyday life. I always said, I say and I will say that happiness is not money, but the presence of healthy loved relatives and friends close by us. Yes, money can not be dispensed with, but it is not necessary to earn millions. Of course, I understand that for many people, money is the only way to happiness. I mean little children who are mortally sick and only an expensive operation can help them. Thus, money will make parents the happiest people in the world, because it will give life to their baby. But often these parents do not have the right amount of money. This is also the injustice of life: someone has no money for treatment, and someone has so many thousand of dollars that he starts to waste it simply for nothing.

I do not have a rich family and we try to be grateful to God for what we have. Mom taught me from childhood that if I lose money, I will not lose anything! I never try to get attached to money. You need to be able to earn them and be able to part with them easily. God will give a new day, new strength, health and work and I will be able to earn more. We have one life and we must live it positively and wisely. Don’t be afraid of poverty ( https://livecustomwriting.com/blog/essay-on-poverty-how-to-survive-and-not-give-up ).

I really like to travel and always spend a lot of money on it. I am very grateful to God for sending me such a boyfriend who also has a similar attitude to money. Maybe it's funny, but it's very easy for us together. Today we can sit and drink expensive coffee, eat in an expensive restaurants, and tomorrow drink water and eat sandwiches. Of course, I understand everybody needs to be put off for the future, but I never set it aside for a rainy day, as many people do. I live today and I know that I need to try not to worry about tomorrow, because for each day there is enough of your own care. Maybe so far I'm a bit frivolous, because I do not have a family, children, and we live with my boyfriend just for fun. But I hope that when life changes a little, we also will become more responsible.

In general, I dream to find a middle ground in relation to money. There is a very thin line between financial independence and a surplus of money, when you are already beginning to feel sorry for every dollar. It is both bad: the excessive economy and excessive extravagance.

Now young people need to learn well and find a good and beloved job in order to receive a stable salary and be able to provide for themselves and their families.

Today I do not dream of great wealth ( https://livecustomwriting.com/blog/wealth-and-poverty-essay-on-imperialism ), because I see how it kills people in people. We are all the same beings, can be happy or unhappy regardless of whether we have money or not. After all, the meaning of life is not in the number of dollars in our bank account. I sincerely wish you to find your vocation and learn to be happy with your life no matter what your salary is. I hope very much that this essay on money has become interesting and useful for you. Perhaps after reading it, you still think about the meaning of money just for you. Remember, not everything in this world is bought and sold.

Speech On Money [1,2,3 Minutes]

Do you know the richest man on the planet? I guess you do. But no one knows the poorest man on the planet. This is the power of money. Money is a means of running life effortlessly. Not only money makes your life easy but it also gets you recognition in society.

In this article, we shared some examples of speech on the money with a time duration of 1, 2 and 3 minutes for presenting in any speech competition. In this speech, you will get to know about the importance, advantages and disadvantages of money.

1 Minute Speech On Money

Hello and welcome all of you gathered here. I am here to present a speech on money.

We need a number of things to run our lives. These things have different natures. We can not store them at once for use because of a lot of factors. To tackle this problem, money was invented. We can store money without any conditions and use it to fulfil our needs in exchange for money.

Now it is very clear that money is a means for running life easily. People earn money to fulfil their daily needs and accumulate it for future use. But money has become an obsession for people. People want to accumulate money as much as they can.

The reason behind this is money represents power and strength in today’s world. Yes! money is essential in life. But giving too much attention to it can prevent you from balancing other aspects of life such as health, relationships etc. Hence, everyone needs to live life wisely. Thank you!

Short Speech On Money

2-Minute Speech On Money

I warmly welcome all of you gathered here. I am here to deliver a speech on money. Before I start my speech, I would like to wish you a good day. Also, I want to thank you for having me this valuable opportunity.

Transactions are one of the most important aspects of human society. This is because we can not create or produce everything we need. Hence, we need to transact with others. In earlier times, people used to exchange articles with one another. This type of exchange is called the barter system.

The barter system was not so efficient. It was very difficult to find people who can mutually fulfil each other’s needs. Then, money was invented to tackle this problem. Money gave people to transact at an efficient level. Money was invented to solve a problem but nowadays money has become an obsession for people.

Different people have different beliefs about money. Some people believe money is a means to enjoy all happiness while others believe it to be the root cause of all evils.

Even if money is only a means for running life easily, people consider money superior to anything else. Everyone is obsessed with money. Some say money is everything. Everyone is rushing after accumulating more money without giving it a thought.

People forget about other aspects of life for the sake of earning more money. This is not a good way of living life. One needs to understand that life is all about balancing each aspect of life. If you do not pay attention to other aspects of life, you will end up messing up your life.

This is the reason behind the saying money can’t buy happiness . Anything in excess is not good and harms you in one way or another. Hence, It is very necessary to understand the right place for money in one’s life.

This is all I wanted to say about money. I hope it was helpful. Thank you!

3-Minute Speech On Money Can’t Buy You Happiness

“ Money never made a man happy yet, nor will it. The more a man has, the more he wants. Instead of filling a vacuum, it makes one “. This is one of my favourite quotes about money which was written by Benjamin Franklin, an American polymath, who had written tons of books.

Good morning! All of you. Before heading ahead to my speech on Money, I would like to wish you all the best wishes and also want to pay thanks for having me this valuable opportunity.

But wait! Is it worth earning money if it can’t buy you happiness ? No doubt, money can buy you everything that is helpful to bring happiness in life. Nevertheless creating happiness in life is an art. If you don’t know this art, money can’t help you enough.

Let me tell you an interesting fact. A study was conducted on two groups of people. One of them gave more importance to money and the other group gave more importance to relationships. The second group was happier. Hence, according to this study, happiness is more related to how your relationships are .

I Reiterate, money can help you bring happiness but only money is not enough. First of all, one needs to understand the right place for money in life. Money is a means just like fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle is useless without fuel but when you are concerned only about fuel, your journey will become lifeless.

Furthermore, one should learn the art of money management which explains many lessons such as:

  • How to spend money wisely: Spending money is an imperative task and it needs attention. Most people spend money on unnecessary things. This way, they waste money.
  • How to cover your future risks: The accumulation of money is done for fighting future needs and risks. But is also done through various other means such as insurance.
  • How to grow your money : Instead of earning more money, one must learn how to grow his money. Many people grow their money intelligently by investing in various instruments such as real estate, stocks etc.
  • How to save money: If you don’t know how to save money, all the money on the planet is less for you. In fact, a penny saved is a penny earned.

To sum it up, People forget about other aspects of life for the sake of earning more money. This is not a good way of living life. One needs to understand that life is all about balancing each aspect of life. If you do not pay attention to other aspects of life, you will end up messing up your life. And then you will say, “money can’t buy you happiness”. Thank you! I hope you liked my thoughts.

Is Money Speech?

speech on money is not everything

Sometimes people ask why the Institute for Free Speech should be so concerned with protecting the rights of individuals to make expenditures and contributions to political campaigns. “Money isn’t speech,” they say. They are often surprised to learn that I agree with them – to a point.

Of course, money isn’t speech – it’s money. I literally don’t know anyone who thinks that money is speech. Certainly, the justices of the Supreme Court don’t think that. Rather, the phrase “money is speech” is a convenient shorthand for a more complex idea, similar to when we say things like “time is money,” or even “money talks.” Duh, of course not.

But imagine if the government were to announce that, because “money isn’t religion,” it would ban all spending of money to support religion, and limit contributions to churches and religious organizations to some relatively small amount? “Sure,” the politicians would say, “you’re free to practice whatever religion you want. You just can’t spend money to build churches, hire pastors or other workers, purchase hymnals and religious vessels and symbols, or engage in missionary work.” To say that this would raise serious issues under the First Amendment right to freedom of religion is a gross understatement.

The same is true of another First Amendment right, freedom of the press. Could the government limit a news network to spending $25,000 a year? Could it limit the number of issues a newspaper or magazine is allowed to publish? That would assuredly bring howls of indignation from the press.

What if a conservative government, seeking a way around Roe v. Wade , announced that it would not prohibit abortions, but would simply limit the right to spend any money to provide or procure an abortion? Wherever you come down on that contentious issue, isn’t it obvious that limiting the ability to spend money would limit the activity itself? Could a liberal Congress pass a law saying no person shall spend money to purchase, sell, manufacture, or import a gun, without raising concerns under the Second Amendment? I think both gun control and gun rights advocates would recognize that you can’t get around the Second Amendment that easily.

You can make up as many examples as you want. Money isn’t a lawyer, but how valuable would the right to an attorney be if the law prohibited you from spending money to hire one? Suppose the government said you are free to travel, but not to spend money on transit, including ownership and maintenance of an automobile?

It is clear, then, that when government limits expenditures of money in order to limit an activity, it is limiting the targeted activity. Indeed, this is not a controversial proposition in law. Since the Supreme Court’s landmark campaign finance decision in the 1976 case Buckley v. Valeo , 21 justices have sat on the Supreme Court. Some of those 21 have consistently voted to uphold the constitutionality of campaign finance restrictions. Others have regularly voted to strike down such laws on constitutional grounds. And some have charted a middle path. But with just one exception, all of them have agreed that restrictions on campaign contributions and spending raise serious First Amendment issues and must be analyzed as First Amendment cases.

(That one exception is former Justice John Paul Stevens. But even Stevens agreed that the laws raised constitutional concerns, though he preferred to analyze them as a restriction on property.)

In short, when the government controls the money you spend to communicate, it controls the quantity, quality, and topics of speech that can be heard in the public arena. If that’s not a Freedom of Speech issue, I don’t know what is.

The total solar eclipse is Monday: Here's everything to know, including time, path, safety

On Monday, a total solar eclipse will cross North America – a phenomenon that has not taken place in the United States in seven years, and astronomers say will not take place again in the U.S. for another two decades.

Millions will likely gaze into the sky on April 8 for the rare experience to witness three celestial spheres − the sun, moon and Earth − line up partially or fully depending on where you are viewing it.

What time will the total solar eclipse begin? What path will it take across the nation? How do I safely watch it without damaging my eyes?

Here's a list of important things you should know about Monday's potential once-in-a-lifetime event.

What is a solar eclipse?

Any celestial object like a moon or a planet that passes between two other bodies can create  an eclipse  by obscuring the view of objects like the sun.

A total eclipse occurs when the moon appears as the same size as the sun and blocks the entire disk from Earth, leading to a period of darkness lasting several minutes. The resulting "totality," whereby observers can see the outermost layer of the sun's atmosphere known as the corona, confuses animals – causing nocturnal creatures to stir and bird and insects to fall silent.

A recent study even found that clouds activity is altered by eclipses as shallow cumulus clouds were observed vanishing when the moon obscured the sun.

A driving no no during the eclipse: The one thing you'll want to do is the only thing not to do while driving during solar eclipse

What states are on the path of totality?

The total solar eclipse will chart a 115-mile-wide path of totality across portions of Mexico, the United States and Canada.

In the U.S. alone, hundreds of cities and smaller towns in 13 states  lie along the path . An estimated 31 million Americans already live on the path, while millions more tourists are already making travel plans – sure to snarl traffic – to catch a glimpse of what is sure to be a spectacular sight, according to eclipse cartographer Michael Zeiler at GreatAmericanEclipse.com .

Additionally, small parts of Tennessee and Michigan are also expected to experience the eclipse,  NASA says .

Here are the major cities in each state where you can expect to experience totality in the United States (note that the included times do not account for when the partial eclipse begins and ends):

  • Dallas, Texas: 1:40-1:44 p.m. CDT
  • Idabel, Oklahoma: 1:45-1:49 p.m. CDT
  • Little Rock, Arkansas: 1:51-1:54 p.m. CDT
  • Poplar Bluff, Missouri: 1:56-2:00 p.m. CDT
  • Paducah, Kentucky: 2-2:02 p.m. CDT
  • Carbondale, Illinois: 1:59-2:03 p.m. CDT
  • Evansville, Indiana: 2:02-2:05 p.m. CDT
  • Cleveland, Ohio: 3:13-3:17 p.m. EDT
  • Erie, Pennsylvania: 3:16-3:20 p.m. EDT
  • Buffalo, New York: 3:18-3:22 p.m. EDT
  • Burlington, Vermont: 3:26-3:29 p.m. EDT
  • Lancaster, New Hampshire: 3:27-3:30 p.m. EDT
  • Caribou, Maine: 3:32-3:34 p.m. EDT

What time is the solar eclipse?

Mexico's Pacific coast will be the first location in continental North America to experience totality, which will occur at about 11:07 a.m. PDT,  according to NASA .

As the moon's shadow travels northeast, totality in the U.S. will begin at 1:27 p.m. CDT in Eagle Pass, Texas. From there, the path will cut diagonally across the country before ending its time in the U.S. around 3:35 p.m. EDT in Lee, Maine, and entering Canada's maritime provinces, according to  nationaleclipse.com .

Decoding the sky: A definitive solar eclipse guide for kids (adults also welcome)

How long will the total solar eclipse last?

Along the way, periods of darkness could last a mere few seconds or, in some cities, could surpass four minutes.

If you want to see the time and duration for when totality would occur near you, enter your zip code below to find out. You can also search for specifics on your location using this interactive map .

How to safely view the solar eclipse

Unlike partial solar eclipses, a total eclipse offers spectators a unique opportunity to gaze upon it with the naked eye, but only when the moon completely blocks out the sun and darkness falls – referred to as totality.

While you're unlikely to go blind , gazing directly at the sun's rays can do some serious damage to your retinas. So until the moment that totality occurs,  proper safety eyewear  is still a must, according to  NASA .

While some welding goggles may work, the best option for eclipse viewing remains certified eyewear, which is held to an international safety standard and is 100,000 times darker than most sunglasses to block nearly all visible, infrared and ultraviolet light.

Solar eclipse glasses are readily available from plenty of vendors across the internet, but if you want to save some cash, there's a good chance your local library or another public institution is giving them away for free.

Just watch out for cheap imitations. To make it easy while you're shopping online, the American Astronomical Society maintains  a curated list of approved vendors .

Another simple method is to create your own pinhole projector to project the sun onto a nearby surface. The American Astronomical Society offers helpful  instructions  to set them up as well.

When was the last solar eclipse?

The last solar eclipse took place on Aug. 21, 2017 . In October, skygazers were delighted by a rare "ring of fire" solar eclipse , where the moon slides in front of the sun but doesn't totally obscure it, creating a halo effect.

When is the next total solar eclipse after 2024?

Whether you live on the path of totality or need to find the nearest city that will be enveloped in daytime darkness, one thing is for sure: Now is the time to make your plans to see it.

For North America,  the next total solar eclipse  won't be until Aug. 23, 2044,  according to NASA .

Unfortunately, the 2044 total solar eclipse won't have the broad reach across the U.S. as the 2024 eclipse.

The Planetary Society, a nonprofit involved in research, public outreach and political space advocacy, says that during the 2044 eclipse, the path of totality will only touch three states.

The eclipse will begin in Greenland, sweep through Canada and end around sunset in Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Trump posts he would go to jail for free speech rights, but stops short of crossing line

Trump is under a limited gag order in the so-called new york hush money criminal case that prevents him from speaking out about certain people involved in the case,.

Donald Trump said Saturday he would "gladly" go to jail in defense of his free-speech rights — but appeared to stop well short of crossing the red line set by a New York judge.

Trump is under a limited gag order in the so-called New York hush money criminal case that prevents him from speaking out about people involved in the case, including witnesses, jurors and prosecutors, other than the judge.

The missives were harsh and personal — toward presiding Judge Juan Merchan, Judge Arthur Engoron of the civil fraud case against Trump and his business, as well as federal Judge Lewis Kaplan, who presided over a civil defamation case against Trump — but did not attack witnesses or other court staff.

"If this Partisan Hack wants to put me in the “clink” for speaking the open and obvious TRUTH, I will gladly become a Modern Day Nelson Mandela — It will be my GREAT HONOR," Trump wrote in the post.

Biden-Harris 2024 Director of Black Media Jasmine Harris ripped Trump's comparison to the legendary South African human rights leader on Saturday afternoon..

“Imagine being so self-centered that you compare yourself to Jesus Christ and Nelson Mandela all within the span of little more than a week: that’s Donald Trump for you,” Harris said in a statement.

Trump to appear at major fundraiser Saturday on Palm Beach

The posts preceded, by a few hours, a Saturday night fundraiser in which the Trump campaign expects to pocket close to $50 million from a gathering in Palm Beach at the house of hedge fund guru John Paulson.

According to an invitation obtained by USA Today, the attendees include a super-wealthy cadre such as Palm Beach County sugar mogul Jose “Pepe” Fanjul as well as Palm Beach resident and former Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

The invitation also lists Howard Lutnick, head of the investment firm Cantor Fitzgerald, mega-GOP donors Rebekah and Robert Mercer, Chicago Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts, investment banker Warren Stephens and real estate magnate Steve Witkoff.

The price of admission on the invitation is $250,000 with a maximum contribution of $814,600, which the Washington Post has reported lands a seat at Trump's table.

Biden-Harris 2024 reports first-quarter money haul

On Saturday, President Joe Biden's campaign said it raised more than $187 million in the first quarter of 2024, including more than $90 million last month alone.

"This historic fundraising operation continues to break monthly grassroots fundraising records through the first three months of 2024 — an indication of enthusiasm, strength, and Team Biden-Harris’ historic resources heading into the general election," campaign officials said in a statement. "This first quarter raise is nearly double the unprecedented 2023 fourth-quarter haul of $97 million."

It added: "While Trump cozies up to billionaires tonight to raise his money, Team Biden-Harris’ first-quarter haul was driven by the strength of our grassroots support, which continues to grow month over month."

man in white tie looks over his shoulder

What a surprise! Free speech absolutist Elon Musk doesn’t really love free speech

Arwa Mahdawi

The X owner is paying legal bills of people ‘unfairly treated’ over their posts while weaponizing the law to shut down his critics

Elon Musk is unravelling

Let’s check in on the platform formerly known as Twitter shall we? Let’s have a gander at how it’s doing since Elon Musk , the world’s cleverest man, decided to set its extremely valuable brand equity on fire and rename it “X”.

Huh, what do you know, it looks like it’s doing X-tremely poorly. Usage in the US has dropped by more than a fifth since Musk took the platform over in late 2022, a recent analysis found . This week Musk, who once named himself “Chief Twit”, also chaotically reversed his policy of making people pay for “verified status” and started forcing blue ticks on the site’s most-followed accounts – to the dismay of many users.

X might not be at the top of its game right now but, to be fair, Musk has plenty of other companies. So how’s Tesla doing? Not so great either, apparently. Inventory is piling up and the company is resorting to big discounts in order to shift cars . Meanwhile the Biden administration recently criticized SpaceX (another Musk company) for how heavily its operations are subsidized by the public.

While some of his biggest businesses are plagued with problems, Musk’s attention seems to be elsewhere. Half the time he seems to be tweeting about how he’ll never go to therapy or dramatically unfollowing his ex on X. The rest of the time the billionaire appears to be consumed by his favourite hobby : funding ridiculous lawsuits .

Last year Musk, who likes to refer to himself as a “free speech absolutist”, grandly announced that he would help pay the legal bills for people who felt they were “unfairly treated” for posting on Twitter. Musk was inundated with people asking for help and, last week, X officially announced that it was funding a lawsuit filed by Chloe Happe against her former employer Block – the financial technology company set up by Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter. While it’s not clear why Block terminated Happe, the lawsuit alleges it was because of her behaviour on Twitter.

“Block fired Chloe because of the political opinions she expressed on X,” the official X News account tweeted . “Chloe had two pseudonymous accounts on X, @bronzeageshawty and the now-deprecated @samsarashawty … because some of the opinions she expressed in her X accounts did not conform to the prevailing political orthodoxy, Block fired her, in violation of the law.” So what were those brave views that X is defending? Well, there are two key tweets (both of which Happe subsequently deleted) that are at the center of the lawsuit. One, described in the court filing as the “Restroom Post” said: “Looking fear in the eyes today as I’m using the ADA gender neutral restroom in the office and a retarded tranny in a wheelchair knocks on the door.”

The other tweet is described as the “Refugee Post”. In this one, posted soon after 7 October 2023, Happe pretended to be a “citizen” of Kurdistan (which is a region, not a country) and joked about refugees from Gaza coming to the area. Happe regularly uses this particular pseudonymous account to pretend to be a woman in Kurdistan with a sheep-herding husband and tweet “witticisms” like : “beautiful big tittie kurdish women just don’t fall out of the sky you know.”

Regardless of what you think about Happe’s comments, this seems like a bizarre case to throw your weight behind. I mean, let’s be very clear here: one of the richest and most influential men in the world has decided to invest his considerable resources in fighting for a woman’s right to say “tranny” and “retarded” online.

A cynic might say the motivation behind this lawsuit is not so much free speech as it is childish trolling. Musk, after all, has routinely demonstrated that he has the maturity of a 12-year-old. This is a man, let us not forget, who whited out the “w” on the Twitter office sign because he thought it would be funny for people to work at “ titter ”.

Despite the fact that he styles himself as a free speech warrior, Musk has also made it very clear that he’s not keen on certain forms of free speech. He will defend someone’s right to use transphobic and ableist language online to the very end but God forbid anyone should exercise their freedom of speech to say anything bad about him! The thin-skinned billionaire has forced employees to sign restrictive non-disparagement agreements and Twitter has been accused of suspending the accounts of journalists who have covered the platform . There are also claims that the platform has censored Palestinian public figures and suspended accounts which have been critical of Israel’s war on Gaza.

Musk has also weaponized the law to try to shut down his critics. Last month, for example, a judge dismissed a case X had filed against the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a non-profit that has published reports detailing a rise in hate speech and racist content on X since the Musk takeover.

“Sometimes it is unclear what is driving a litigation …” wrote Charles Breyer, the US district judge, in the ruling. “Other times, a complaint is so unabashedly and vociferously about one thing that there can be no mistaking that purpose … This case is about punishing the defendants … X Corp has brought this case in order to punish CCDH for CCDH publications that criticized X Corp – and perhaps in order to dissuade others who might wish to engage in such criticism.”

Musk actively trying to suppress criticism while posturing as a free speech warrior? Gosh, it’s almost like the man is a raging hypocrite.

Why do a disproportionate number of women play bass guitar?

Once upon time the guitar was seen as a “ women’s instrument ”. Why? Because women could keep their bodies in “feminine” poses while playing it and because, in Europe during the late 1700s to the mid-1800s, it was generally perceived as a “lesser” instrument. Now the bass guitar is considered more of a “woman’s” instrument. Ashwanta Jackson takes a look at gender and music in JSTOR.

If that headline sounds confusing it’s because the situation in Florida right now is very confusing . The good news, however, is that Florida residents will get the chance to vote on a ballot measure to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution.

The NHS is killing us – it is an enemy of Britain

Being born British should not be a death sentence but, as long as we go on believing in the National Health Service, it will be

Allison Pearson

At last, some good news about the NHS. Sounds unlikely, I know, but please bear with. A neighbour went to A&E recently to get a nasty burn treated. “Honestly, it was like the Third World,” a shocked Kate reported. So many people were sitting on the floor, she said, that traversing the human tide to get to the reception desk was almost impossible. “At one point, a nurse shouted that anyone who was sitting on a chair who was merely accompanying a patient should stand up. When they stood up, they were told to vacate their chairs immediately, but there was literally nowhere for them to even stand.”

People who couldn’t make it through the fray to the toilets threw up where they were. The stench was awful. Throughout that same night, 13 ambulances carrying patients were parked outside the biggest hospital in the east of England. A&E had no capacity to admit them.

Kate waited 12 hours before she finally spoke to someone medical (brusque, not kind). Apart from the skein of skin falling off her scalded hand, she was fit enough to endure the hellish conditions, but she saw older people give up and leave A&E. “Imagine being in your 80s, feeling terrible and surrounded by drunks with no hope of getting a bed until the morning. I just thought, ‘My God, what kind of country have we become?’”

Which is the correct reaction, and one that contains a grain of hope that the powerful hold the NHS exerts over the popular imagination is waning fast. Through painful personal experiences like Kate’s, people who were once true believers in the “national religion” are acquiring valuable immunity to the myth of the NHS’s saintliness. The blinkers are falling from our eyes. In the words of one despairing doctor: “The NHS is run by managers for the benefit of managers. Patients don’t count.”

Let me tell you how it is, because so few dare. The NHS is the enemy of the British people, not our friend. That is a very hard thing to accept, I know, because it goes against everything we have been taught. They have even trained us to use the familiar “our NHS” to make a monstrous socialist bureaucracy that swallows £160 billion of taxpayers’ money every year sound like a lovable old member of the family, somebody you can always rely on. But you can’t. It’s worse than you can possibly imagine.

The NHS is now in such a state of collapse, so chronically kaput, that it is actually killing people. Men, women and children who should be alive today are dead because they were born British. Lost forever to their loved ones because Britain has a health service with some of the worst outcomes in the developed world.

Take just one example. Prof Pat Price, a world-renowned oncologist, paints a terrifying picture of cancer care. “Despite all the positive PR from NHS England,” says Prof Price, “cancer waits in January were the second worst on record. Three thousand patients are waiting more than three months to start treatment.”

The NHS promised it would get cancer waits back to pre-Covid levels by March 2021 but now it says the aim is to get it back to 70 per cent by March 2025.

“It feels like everyone has given up and accepted we can’t do it so they just rely on PR instead,” says Prof Price.

Still think the NHS is “the envy of the world”? If, God forbid, you get cancer in the UK, the target for you to start treatment is 62 days after diagnosis . Even that risible milestone is frequently missed.

“Tell doctors from other European countries that our target is 62 days and they can’t believe it,” adds another leading oncologist. If you were French, German or Spanish, you could expect to start cancer treatment in a fortnight, if not before. Being British can be a death sentence.

“We still have such a huge backlog from so many services being shut unnecessarily during Covid,” says a London GP. “Heart disease waiting times for tests, diagnosis and treatment are worse than I’ve ever seen. In some areas, target times are being abandoned because they can’t be met.”

Can we please pause a minute to let that sink in? Critical targets are being abandoned by the NHS because they know they will never be met. What a cynical, shameful, secretive admission of failure that is. Yet, instead of owning up, in true Stalinist style NHS managers pretend there never was a target to miss in the first place.

Yet, I can guarantee fleets of NHS communications staff will go on pumping out perky propaganda so the public is falsely reassured. And costly posters and leaflets will demean and insult pregnant women by calling them “ovary owners” and “birthing parents” because Left-wing identity bilge is more important to the NHS than, for example, making sure maternity units are safe.

Until recently, politicians have been too scared to challenge the NHS, such was the public affection for the institution. Today, their protestations of fealty to this greedy leviathan sound increasingly deranged. When Jeremy Hunt used his Budget speech in March to claim that the health service is “the biggest reason most of us are proud to be British” many people watching at home cried: “You what?” Like many wealthy people, the Chancellor has the option of going private and not joining an eight million-plus waiting list .

Even the most devout NHS worshipper is clearly starting to have doubts. According to the recent British Social Attitudes survey, dissatisfaction with the NHS is at an all-time high, with less than a quarter of people satisfied with our health system.

Who can blame us? The stats are as terrible as they are relentless: more than 150,000 patients were forced to wait more than 24 hours in A&E before getting a hospital bed last year, a tenfold increase on 2019.

More than 250 people a week die needlessly because of long A&E waits.

Those are just the official data. Many of us will know of relatives or friends who are too scared to go to hospital (because they think they will die of sepsis or neglect), who have spent several excruciating hours on the floor at home awaiting an ambulance, who have given up even trying to get a GP appointment (more chance of a blind date with a unicorn, quite frankly). Or they’ve found out that their “urgent referral” means an initial hospital consultation in June 2025 and have raided their savings to go private for their hip operation.

Why not go private if you can when the alternative is a sick joke? “One of my patients received four letters on the same day from our local hospital,” says the London GP, “two letters giving her an appointment on two different dates, and two letters cancelling them both!” That’s peak NHS for you.

Labour, which has always scaremongered about creating a “two-tier health system”, is now openly saying it would use the private sector to help reduce waiting times. Sir Keir Starmer may piously sing on the stuck record of “our NHS” crumbling due to inadequate Tory funding, rather than the true explanation: inadequate NHS management. But shadow health secretary Wes Streeting shows more guts than any Conservative predecessor when he says there will be no more cash without the “major surgery” of reform. “It’s a service not a shrine.”

I like the way Streeting calls out those Olympian hypocrites, the “middle-class Lefties” who cry betrayal over “free at the point of use” while paying for private medicine to get quicker treatment themselves.

Reform UK has gone one better than Labour. Richard Tice’s party promises to spend the cash committed to the reckless, futile pursuit of net zero on tax relief of 20 per cent on all independent healthcare and insurance. That should incentivise those who can afford it to go private and free up the NHS for those who can’t.

This is the future. By 2050, every working person will have some form of private insurance supplemented by the state, I think. That same system, by the way, which operates in all civilised countries with far better healthcare than our own because they aren’t a cult member worshipping a grotesque, cruel deity called “our NHS”.

Out of interest, I asked a source in NHS England what all the senior managers like CEO Amanda Pritchard made of the recent appalling headlines about their failing organisation. Surely, they must be worried? “There isn’t even any acknowledgment of either the (dis)satisfaction survey or the stories about A&E waiting times killing people,” said George. “Working at NHS England is like being on the International Space Station. You wouldn’t think there was much connection with the actual world of treating actual patients in actual hospitals. It’s all about the latest restructuring which has taken 18 months so far. They really couldn’t care less.”

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the arrogant, unaccountable bureaucratic caste which gobbles up billions of pounds of public funds yet gives such bad value for money that Kate and millions like her spend the night from hell in A&E.

Being born British should not be a death sentence in any circumstances. As long as we go on believing in the NHS it will be.
