Find the Number to Nearest 10 Game
Enjoy the marvel of mathematics by exploring how to find a number to the nearest 10.
In the 3rd grade, kids already understand numbers, basic arithmetic operations, and some geometric functions. Learning and practicing rounding numbers help simplify complicated math problems. This activity involves using strategic calculation skills, including mental estimation.
Round Numbers in a Fun, Interactive Environment
3rd-grade kids are learning basic mathematical concepts that help in challenging math calculations later. For example, using round numbers to multiply large numbers. To correctly complete complex calculations, it is imperative to practice rounding numbers.
Rounding numbers involve using the nearest multiples of 10 on the number line.
Let’s explore how we can round up numbers in two steps:
Step 1: Take a number and draw on a number line till neighboring multiples of 10.
Our number is 34.
Step 2: Find the nearest multiples of 10 to the number. Calculate the numbers remaining on both sides.
We have 3 numbers on the left and 5 on the right.
Round up to the nearest tens place, which is 30 in our case.
Rounding numbers can be initially challenging for your kid. Use these four interactive methods to encourage retention.
Four Exciting Learning Activities to Round Numbers on SplashLearn
- Place 2-Digit Number on the Number Line: This game encourages your kid to identify the number line and round it up. These simple online games allow building confidence in the rounding numbers.
- Round 2-Digit Number Using The Number Line: Based on their understanding, kids will mark the correct answer in the game. It includes a number line to assist kids in rounding numbers.
- Round 2-Digit Number To the Nearest 10: As your kid gets comfortable with the concept, this educational game increases the complexity. It provides a number, and kids have to mark the right answer by using mental calculations.
- Guess The Number Rounded To The Nearest 10: This online fun game involves a sentence asking a number that rounds up to the nearest 10. It eliminates misconceptions and improves confidence in rounding numbers.
Rounding Numbers? Is it a Little Complicated for Your Kid?
Rounding numbers involves drawing a number line and rounding up to the nearest tens place. It can be difficult to correctly calculate the rounded number or understand how numbers with 5 in ones place like 35, 45, 55, etc., are rounded.
Use Interactive Tricks to Encourage Learning
The best way is to encourage your kid to practice with pen and paper. Draw a number line and allow rounding up. You can also try creating a number line using objects or online games.
Rounding numbers is crucial for larger calculations involving 6, 7, or bigger digit numbers. SplashLearn’s curriculum-aligned games ensure application-based learning for concept building and retention.

Three Breakout Candidates For Seattle Seahawks Under New Coaching Staff
Nick lee | may 14, 2024.
- Seattle Seahawks
Whenever a new coaching staff takes over a franchise, there is a possibility that a few incumbent starters will benefit greatly from the change in philosophy or scheme or just from a fresh voice in the room. Mina Kimes alluded to that possibly being the case for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith under new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.
Keeping that in mind, I'm going to look at three Seahawks who are poised to benefit from the change in leadership, be it Mike Macdonald at head coach and defensive guru or under Grubb on offense.
As far as rules go, these players could not be Pro Bowlers from a season ago, nor are they part of the most recent draft class in Seattle, and they must have been part of the team last season. Given that Geno Smith was a Pro Bowler in both of the last two seasons, for example, he is ineligible for this list.
This likely is not someone you think of right off the bat that could benefit from Mike Macdonald coming to town. More so, it is due to Macdonald bringing on former University of Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. Fant benefits from Macdonald's arrival by virtue of his first hire at offensive coordinator.
In case you didn't watch college football last season, Grubb helped orchestrate one of the most explosive offenses in recent memory with quarterback Michael Penix Jr. at the helm in purple and gold. Among the 133 teams at the FBS level, Washington ranked in the top 15 in points, total yards, and passing. Tight ends, while not the feature piece, benefitted greatly from the scheme Kalen DeBoer and Grubb put together.
The previous scheme in Seattle (the professional team) seemed to ignore tight ends at times. Fant, given his size and athleticism, could be a weapon in the red zone. Yet, he was inexplicably held without a single touchdown during the 2023 season. Shane Waldron and company did not seem to prioritize giving some of their biggest red zone targets a chance near the goal line. Fant has yet to even eclipse 500 yards in either of his two seasons as a Seahawk.
It's hard to imagine Grubb making that same mistake. Fant has all the tools and talent you could want in a tight end. He was just massively misused last year. That made his decision to return on a free agent deal all the more surprising. Perhaps he too sees the possible benefits of playing for this new offensive staff.
Dre'Mont Jones
All of a sudden, the defensive line is a strength for the Seahawks . Imagine if Jones takes a big step forward in 2024. There's rumblings that he might move more to an EDGE role and play more on the outside. He took almost the exact same amount of snaps at EDGE and sliding in as a 5-tech defensive end last year. It might lean more heavily on the outside this season in Macdonald's scheme.
That could be to Jones' benefit. The former Denver Bronco seemed to underachieve in his first season in Seattle after a sizable free agent deal. He went from 6.5 sacks in 2022 to 4.5 last year. As my colleague Corbin Smith detailed , his Pro Football Focus grades and pass rushing stats improved last year once he crept towards the outside of the defensive line.
Under the tutelage of Mike Macdonald, Jones could see a big step forward in 2024 in a slightly new role. With Uchenna Nwosu and Boye Mafe also in the fold at the EDGE spot, adding Jones gives Seattle solid depth and various looks.
Perhaps no Seahawk was more disappointing last year than Woolen. After bursting onto the scene in 2022, going from fifth round pick to Pro Bowler as a rookie, he took a large step back last season. After picking off six passes in 2022, he intercepted just two. Per Pro Football Reference, he allowed just a 48.7 passer rating in his rookie season. That number jumped to 79.8 last year. His missed tackle rate also doubled, with numerous moments of egregiously bad missed tackles.
Given Macdonald's experience as a defensive backs coach, and seeing the success of young defensive backs in Baltimore, Woolen stands to benefit from Macdonald and crew. Corners like Rock Ya-Sin and Ronald Darby, who both lack the elite size and athletic traits Woolen brings to the table, excelled under Macdonald with the Ravens last year.
In addition, Karl Scott returns as passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach in Seattle. He is very familiar with Woolen, given he arrived on Seattle's staff in 2022. If Woolen can reclaim his form as a rookie, along with the stellar play of Devon Witherspoon on the other side, the Seahawks suddenly could have one of the best young cornerback duos in the NFL to build their new defense around.
Nick Lee grew in San Diego, California and graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2017. He married a Washington native and moved to the Pacific Northwest after 2014. Los Angeles Rams NFL Draft picks 2024: Grades, fits and scouting reports
The Los Angeles Rams entered the 2024 NFL Draft with 11 picks over the three-day draft .
Nobody is replacing the recently retired Aaron Donald , but the Rams need to find a good difference-making partner for Kobie Turner, who had an excellent rookie season. The Rams also are in the market for an outside linebacker/edge rusher, depth in the running back room as well as another receiver. The big question pre-draft is: Will the Rams remain at No. 19? They did, and they selected Florida State edge Jared Verse .
Keep coming back here throughout the draft for analysis and grades for each Rams pick.

No. 19: Jared Verse, edge, Florida State
Dane brugler’s analysis.
When he channels his relentless energy, Verse is as disruptive as anyone in this class, because of his explosive get-off, power through his frame and NFL -quality hand use. His physical traits and competitive football temperament give him a high floor as an NFL starter (reminiscent of eight-year NFL veteran Dante Fowler).

Los Angeles Rams draft Jared Verse: How he fits, pick grade and scouting intel
Scott Dochterman’s grade: B
Round 1 grades for all 32 picks
No. 39 (via Panthers): Braden Fiske , DT, Florida State
Fiske doesn’t have a deep arsenal of counters if he doesn’t win early, but he already has a professional mindset and his twitchy urgency and steady play strength will translate well to the pro game. He projects as a rotational three-technique with versatility to move around an aggressive front.
Scott Dochterman’s grade: D
Nick Baumgardner, Scott Dochterman rate Rounds 2-3
Jourdan Rodrigue’s analysis
Los Angeles Rams draft Braden Fiske: How he fits, pick grade and scouting intel
No. 83: Blake Corum , RB, Michigan
Corum is smaller than ideal for his run style, but he makes quick, urgent decisions with the low center of gravity and burst to bounce runs or maneuver through congestion. His determination to maximize each carry will translate well to an NFL offense, although his effectiveness on third downs will determine his upside.
Scott Dochterman’s grade: A
No. 99 (special compensatory): kamren kinchens , s, miami (fla.).
Kinchens doesn’t have top-tier athletic traits, but he has a well-balanced skill set with the playmaking awareness and ball skills to compete for a starting role in the NFL. He projects best as a split-field safety with range in the post who can drive topdown in two-deep shells.
No. 154: Brennan Jackson , edge, Washington State
Jackson’s body tightness and lack of balance will follow him to the NFL, but so will his urgent attacking skills and relentless motor. He projects as a rotational edge defender for a scheme that can turn him loose.
Brennan Jackson's grandfather passed away recently, he said, and today he held the watch his grandfather left him in his will in his hands as the draft unfolded to keep him there with him the whole time. https://t.co/P73mAUdq6d — Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) April 27, 2024
No. 196: Tyler Davis , DT, Clemson
Davis doesn’t have high-upside traits that NFL teams generally desire, but he reads well, stays active and offers the experience to add depth to an NFL defensive line room. He projects as a rotational nose tackle in the NFL, although it might be tough for him to become much more than that.
Clemson DL Tyler Davis is the Rams' pick at No. 196. At 6-2 and 301 pounds, Dane Brugler notes Davis may be best suited for a rotational/depth nose tackle role. — Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) April 27, 2024
No. 209 (compensatory): Joshua Karty , K, Stanford
Karty was the No. 3 kicker in Brugler’s position rankings.
A KICKER! ON BACON DAY!!!!! — Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) April 27, 2024
No. 213 (compensatory): Jordan Whittington , WR, Texas
Whittington’s college career was one of perseverance, and although it will take more than that to carve out an NFL career, his dependable and athletic skill set will speak to pro coaches. He projects as a back-end roster receiver with inside-outside ability and special-teams upside.
At No. 213, the Rams are picking Texas WR Jordan Whittington. Usually around this time, certain draft picks go to possible high CFA targets who they believed would get drafted – especially for possible immediate special teams contributors as Whittington could be. Good YAC player. — Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) April 27, 2024
No. 217 (compensatory): Beaux Limmer , C, Arkansas
Limmer must continue to fine-tune his leverage points and play with better overall control, but he has the functional athleticism and finishing demeanor to continue developing. He projects as an immediate backup (center and guard) with starting potential at center, ideally suited for a wide-zone scheme (similar to Jake Brendel ).
Arkansas C Beaux Limmer, the Rams' pick at No. 217, fills a lingering need in this meat-and-potatoes draft — backup center. — Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) April 27, 2024
No. 254 (compensatory): KT Leveston, G, Kansas State
Leveston needs to introduce more technical control and finesse to his execution, but he has the functional movements and power in his lower half and hands that the NFL requires inside at guard. He projects as an NFL reserve who should continue to see more snaps as he gets comfortable on the interior.
At pick No. 254, their final selection in this year's draft, the Rams are taking guard KT Leveston, a depth pick who Dane Brugler notes has the right power and frame, but needs more developing at the position. He did previously play tackle. — Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) April 27, 2024
