సుబ్ర‌హ్మ‌ణ్యం (అచ్యుత్ కుమార్‌) క్రైమ్ న‌వ‌ల‌లు రాస్తుంటాడు. న‌వ‌ల‌ల్లో తాను సృష్టించిన పాత్రలే త‌న‌ను బెదిరిస్తున్నాయంటూ పోలీస్ కంప్లైంట్ ఇస్తాడు సుబ్ర‌హ్మ‌ణ్యం. తాగుబోతు అయిన అత‌డి కంప్టైంట్‌ను పోలీసులు తిర‌స్క‌రిస్తారు. డీజీపీ ఆశాప్ర‌మోద్ (మ‌ధుబాల‌) కూతురు పూజ కిడ్నాప్ అవుతుంది. కిడ్నాప‌ర్స్ నుంచి వ‌చ్చిన కాల్ నంబ‌ర్‌ను పోలీసులు ట్రేస్ చేయ‌గా అది సుబ్ర‌హ్మ‌ణ్యం నంబ‌ర్‌గా తేలుతుంది.

Dejavu Movie Review

After completing over a decade in the industry, actor Arulnithi has earned the trademark as a thriller film hero. With his filmography in mind, it would not be a wild guess to take, that it is either a horror or crime thriller film the moment we see his name on the posters. If you had made that guess on Dejavu, voila, you are not wrong. The film tells the tale of a crime novelist whose fictional writings begin to transpire in real life causing problems to people. Actor Arulnithi who was last seen in the coming-of-age psychological drama D Block is back on screens with his mystery thriller flick Dejavu. Veteran actress Madhoo has played a vital supporting role. Debutant director Arvindh Srinivasan has directed the movie. So, how has the mystery thriller drama Dejavu come out? Will it help put actor Arulnithi back on the winning zone and reinstate his image of a bankable lead hero in Tamil cinema ? To know that let us get into the movie review.

The entertainer is set at a weird backdrop where novelist Subramani’s (Achyuth Kumar) fictional writings transpire into reality. Dejavu opens with an inebriated Subramani experiencing the fictional characters he had written in his previous novel come into his life, and pose a threat to him. He rushes to the police station to make a complaint. Seeing his tipsy state, the cops do not take him seriously. He goes back to home and begins to pen a scene about a girl getting abducted. The very next day the scene happens in real life. A woman calls the police station and informs them that Subramani has a hand in her kidnapping. 

The cops take Subramani under their custody. Shortly after his arrest, Pooja ( Smruthi Venkat ), the daughter of DGP Asha Pramod (Madhoo) goes missing. Fearing her personal connection could cloud her judgment, DGP Asha Pramod unofficially assigns the case to ACP Vikram Kumar (Arulnithi). Vikram Kumar takes charge and goes undercover to begin his investigation. To his surprise Subramani pens every move of his precisely as if he had already lived that moment. Who is Subramani, how do the events he writes transpire to reality, does he have any connection to the kidnappings, and will Vikram Kumar unearth the mystery behind this puzzle, is what makes the rest of the flick. 

For starters, the way Dejavu begins is an ideal way to begin a mystery thriller. A writer claiming that his fictional characters are disturbing him in real life. This, though weird, takes us by surprise and grabs our complete attention. Debutant film maker Arvindh Srinivasan quickly backs the element of surprise by building a crime around it. The groundwork to raise a solid crime thriller is laid right. Just when we get set for a towering high rise building to be built up on it, all we see is the construction of a shaky structure. Everything unravels with ease for the protagonist after a sake-of-it setback. He does not have to break a sweat to get past the confrontations he faces to crack the case. The logical loopholes in the plot are another set of wrong stones in the brick work that upset the structural flow. But the mystery anchor prompts us to neglect the loopholes. 

In order to keep the audience hooked, director Arvindh Srinivasan frames a series of twists at regular intervals. Sadly, we the audience without much work are able to sense the intent to deceive behind the twists. To place these twists new events that are irrelevant to the plot are written. Since the purpose of these events itself fails, they end up just stretching the film’s run time. Despite flaws, debutant film maker Arvindh Srinivasan built a screenplay that at least inconsistently kept us invested. But what completes a crime thriller? The startling climax. That is where Dejavu crumbles down like a house of cards. The moment the mystery is let loose, all the efforts put in to carve the path to the final show, go in vain. Suddenly, the logical loopholes that we chose to overlook, seem inexcusable. And Dejavu sent us home with oozing dissatisfaction. 

Actor Arulnithi, in a way, has been consistent with his performance. The same expressions, reactions, gestures, and emotional quotient film after film that we are so used to. It is high time the actor works on them to become a better performer. Nothing special comes off of veteran actress Madhoo but she lives up to her role. Actor Achyuth Kumar, yet again is impressive with his performance. Actress Smruthi Venkat has done justice to her part. Actor Kaali Venkat is exceptional as usual. Actress Maria Vincent serves the purpose for the reason why she was roped in. Actors Mime Gopi, Ragav Vijay, Chetan, Supergood Subramani, and Yalini Rajan have all chipped in and have played their part well. The rest of the cast has delivered what was asked of them. 

On the technical front, music director Ghibran’s tracks are not good but are not really bad either. His background score adds value to the film. Cinematographer P. G. Muthiah has covered the drama from the best vantage points possible. His visuals aid in setting the mysterious tone of the flick. Editor Arul E Siddharth has put his scissors at the right spots to trim out the junk clips enhancing the work of his colleague. 

On the whole, debutant director Arvindh Srinivasan’s Dejavu has an interesting idea but not the able craftsman to turn that idea into a displayable effigy.

Dejavu review: Arulnithi shoulders a thriller with little logic

Dejavu, headlined by Arulnithi and Achyuth Kumar, loses a chance to make it a riveting thriller.

Plot: In the middle of the night, a novelist (Achyuth Kumar) storms into the police station to complain about harassment calls. He claims characters from his latest work are calling him and threatening him. As a result of his drunken condition, the police officials do not take his complaint seriously. What eventually unfolds forms the storyline.

Review: It is ideal to combine logic and thrillers. We wish Dejavu, directed by newbie Aravindh Srinivasan, had been more persuasive and sensible. Nevertheless, the film has a few edge-of-the-seat moments. In a book describing a young woman's kidnap, a drunken novelist with Extra Sensory Perception writes a page that turns out to be true the next day. As an audience, you feel puzzled, although you kind of buy into his act. At the same time, you know something is going to come up.

After a woman called the control room the previous night claiming the writer was involved in her kidnapping, the police rush to the novelist's house and arrest him. It is revealed that DGP Madhoo Shah's daughter is missing, and the police believe it could be the same person who called the control room. To avoid being swayed by her emotions, the DGP appoints special officer Vikram Kumar (Arulnithi) to investigate the case.

Although the characters are established, Dejavu doesn't take us directly into the plot. The neverending twists and turns happen till we get the end card. When we learn who triggers the murder spree, logic gets thrown out the window. While Vikram continues to proceed with his investigation, the novelist's notes, on the other hand, provide hints as to what will happen next. With such a setup, you'd think the movie would play it all out and take us to places we'd never seen before. But, it exactly does the opposite. When was the last time you saw a thriller in Tamil cinema that made you feel this good about being deceived? No prizes for guessing it right!

There are some thrills, thanks to the sound effects. But, for the film to maintain momentum, it needs a parallel investigation track to complement the writer's prediction game. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen that way. The audience, instead, ends up thinking this-is-how-it-will end sorts, which ruins the experience completely.

Also, I don't remember the last time I saw a DGP with heavy eye make-up and lipstick. Every time the camera zooms in, you can't help but notice how fresh her face looks, as if she just had a touch-up. This DGP says she chose to mercy kill a rape survivor because she knew it would be "hard for her to live in this world!" I was at a loss for words when I heard a woman say this, especially someone who knew the law and order.

Seasoned actor Achyuth Kumar provides adequate support; part of the credit goes to MS Bhaskar, who has dubbed for the Kannada actor's character.

Verdict: The narration shifts to each character's backstory, which tests your patience. A flashback within a flashback occurs. Each episode appears disconnected from the whole, with no smooth narration flow. The film has a unique plot, but it is marred by amateur directing. Dejavu's plot had the potential to become a riveting thriller. However, the screenplay lacks focus. At most, the film can be considered a debutante's ambitious attempt to make a film that is different from the norm.

Dejavu Movie Review: Logic goes for a toss in this rudderless thriller

Debutant Arvindh Srinivasan's Dejavu has an impressive start. A drunk novelist with supposed ESP (Extra Sensory Power) to predict crime scenes, pens a page describing a young girl's kidnap and his fiction turns out to be reality the next day. His predictions are so accurate that he even gets the vehicle numbers of the suspects right, even before they board into one. Though the writer's prediction game is initially fun, the film needed an equally interesting investigation track to keep the momentum going. But, sadly it doesn't. It actually does the opposite, the cumbersome investigation turns the tables and the one predicting the forthcoming event is the audience, not the writer in the story. It is disappointing that the scenes which manage to escape this predictability are the ones where logic goes for a toss and the audience is taken for granted. In an attempt to make the twists unguessable Arvindh sabotages the little he had built till then by making his leads react in unusual ways and take the oddest decisions. For instance, in an ideal world, the writer would have been taken into custody within hours and the secret behind the ESP would be out in minutes. But here the DGP appoints a dull PC to overview the writer as he happily pens the crime scenes, sipping a glass of booze.

The penultimate reveals towards the end of the whodunit, makes us wonder more about 'Whys' and 'hows'. And the tool the filmmaker uses to drop these reveals is monologues! Almost every main character goes on a confession spree as if they were waiting for their turn in a queue.  Had the filmmaker opted to show things visually instead of making his characters recite them, the damage would have been considerably dampened.

Achyuth Kumar and Arulnithi's invested performances and Ghibran's terrific score are perhaps the only elements that keep us invested in this unengaging ride. Casting a limited actor like Madhoo in a role with layers does take an extra toll on the overall film.

For those unaware, Dejavu was shot parallel in Telugu as Repeat , starring Naveen Chandra in Arulnithi's role. Sadly, significant chunks of the Telugu portion have been retained for the Tamil version too. This only adds more to the misery.

Dejavu has been titled so to denote the series of events that repeat themselves after a year, exactly on the same day. But the abysmal screenplay and staging of the film give us the Deja Vu of a dozen woeful thrillers that we remember for all the wrong reasons.

DEJAVU is an investigative thriller produced by Vijay Pandi and written and directed by Arvindh Srinivasan, who before this film used to be a movie critic. DEJAVU has an intriguing beginning and manages to tick all the boxes at the beginning. It is an interesting script and offers scope for some twists and turns. They don’t make you jump off the seat but they are not dull either. The pace of the film is even and as the film progresses, especially in the second half the film starts getting predictable. The flash back by then becomes obvious and the cliché climax doesn’t make it exciting. DEJAVU could have been a lot better than it actually is, had the casting been good. Arulnithi doesn’t fit well. Madhubala disappoints. Kali Venkat is his usual self. It is Achyuth who does a brilliant job in the role of a writer. PG Muthaiah’s cinematography is good. Background score by Ghibran is average. Dialogues are good. Editing by Arul E Siddharth is okay. Direction for a debutant is good.

Debut filmmaker Arvindh Srinivasan’s Dejavu, a mystery thriller, features Arulnithi and Madhu Bala as the lead characters. Cinematographer PG Muthaiah has produced this movie, which features Kannada actor Achyuth Kumar, Kaali Venkat, Smruthi Venkat, and a few more actors as prominent characters.

The movie opens with a drunkard (Achyuth Kumar), arriving at a police station to give a complaint. He reveals a strange incident, where his fictional stories based on murders are turning into realities. Initially, the police constables perceive it as a clownery act, but sooner DSP Asha (Madhubala) realizes that the kidnapped girl in his story and reality is none other than her daughter (Smruthi Venkat). Unable to handle the case under the spotlight due to some reason, she appoints an undercover cop (Arulnithi) to crack the mystery and rescue her daughter. What unfolds next is a series of twists, turns, and revelations that will shock everyone.

Some stories are impressive when narrated, but the actual challenge is to translate them perfectly into visuals. Debutant Arvind has picked a good plot, and his works are far better than a routine package, we get from a first-timer. Actor Arulnithi has been consistently choosing unique stories, especially directed by newcomers, which earned him a good reception. In Dejavu, he has delivered what is exactly required from his character. He arrives too late in time, say nearly 25-30 minutes after this movie. The first half is decent and has interesting moments. For any thriller and mystery-based movie, the only challenge is cracking the mysteries gradually. Dejavu has some interesting twists, but the way, it has been narrated slightly simmers down the momentum. In most of the places, we are given an easy space to predict, and the climax twist blatantly looks inspired by the famous International movie, which found several remakes across Hollywood and Indian cinema (We keep it veiled due to spoiler elements).

There are lots of loopholes in the movie, which the director and team of writers should have carefully noticed and reworked. It shouldn’t be – I have written the scene, and I have my own reasons to justify it. Instead, it should be – I have written the scene, but my justifications aren’t convincing, so let me rework it. This isn’t a piece of advice, but a theory that has worked with outstanding results for many filmmakers. Of course, Dejavu never looks like a movie from a debut filmmaker, and if Arvind could improvise on these factors, he will definitely score more brownie points from the next movie.

On the whole, Dejavu has a good start and keeps us engaged till the intermission portions. The second half too is convincing, but proper work over avoiding the illogical issues and loopholes would have made it an elite club mystery-thriller.

Verdict: Starts on a high note, but gradually loses its intensity and momentum during the latter part.

Naveen Chandra to star in 'Dejavu'

Actor Naveen Chandra’s next film is a mystery thriller titled Dejavu. The film stars the actor in the role of an investigating officer.

Produced by Vijay Pandi’s White Carpet Films and PG Muthiah’s PG Media Works, Dejavu is directed by first-time filmmaker Arvindh Srinivasan. 

Speaking about the film, Arvindh says, “Naveen believes this film will be an important project in his filmography. The film will not be a usual thriller and right from the first scene, there will be many twists and turns. The story happens over a duration of a day and a night.”

The film also stars Madhoo, Achyuth Kumar, Pooja Ramachandran, Smruthi Venkat, Naveena Reddy, Satyam Rajesh, Mime Gopi, Chetan, and Kali Venkat. 

“Madhoo ma’am is excited about playing a cop for the first time in her career. Achyuth Kumar sir’s role is also an important one. Despite playing a cop, Naveen won’t be wearing the police uniform even for one scene.”

The shooting of the film is almost completed. The film is also a bilingual with Arulnithi playing the lead in the Tamil version.  Dejavu is shot in Chennai and Hyderabad. With music by Ghibran, the film will have cinematography by PG Muthiah.

If you assume, that the movie is written and directed by few debutants, than certainly u should watch and appreciate. We need sch movies, but in a better way. Otherwise we would be flooded with clich&eacute; movies like Annathe! <br/>Coming to the movie, the first half was interesting. I wish they maintained the same mood throughout... When the second half explains all the strange Dejavu moments, the viewer goes crazy. Viewer would need to be bribed to accept the illogical, impossible things shown on screen. Some sequences were confusing to me as well, maybe thats my non native Tamil knowledge and bad subtitles!! <br/>Even in the first half, some dialogues were too childish, like the colleague explaining multiple times about why she hired an OLA cab!!.. <br/>Pros<br/>Interesting premise.<br/>Performance by certain actors - the writer for instance<br/>No masala

అరుల్‌నిథి, మధుబాల, స్మృతి వెంకట్, అచ్యుత్ కుమార్, కాళీ వెంకట్, మిమే గోపి ప్రధాన పాత్రల్లో నటించిన మస్టరీ థ్రిల్లర్‌ చిత్రం ‘డెజావు’. ఈ ఏడాది జులైలో విడుదలైన ఈ చిత్రంపై విమర్శకులు సైతం ప్రశంసలు కురిపించారు. ఈ తమిళ్‌ మూవీ తెలుగు వెర్షన్‌ ప్రముఖ ఓటీటీ అమెజాన్‌ ప్రైమ్‌లో స్ట్రీమింగ్‌ అవుతోంది. కంటెంట్ ప్రధానంగా, . గ్రిప్పింగ్ ట్విస్ట్‌లు, ఊహించని మలుపులతో అరవింద్‌ శ్రీనివాసన్ ఈ చిత్రాన్ని తెరకెక్కించాడు.

కథ: ఒక క్రికెట్ మ్యాచ్ ఆడుతుండగా.. బాల్ తగలడంతో రాజు యాదవ్ (గెటప్ శ్రీను) దవడ నవ్వుతున్న పొజిషన్ లో స్ట్రక్ అయిపోతుంది. నవ్వు ముఖం మంచిదే అయినా.. సందర్భంతో పని లేకుండా ఎక్కడ చూసినా నవ్వుతున్నట్లుగా కనిపించే రాజు యాదవ్ ను చుట్టూ ఉన్నవాళ్లందరూ తిట్టుకొంటుంటారు. అదే తరుణంలో రాజులో ఉన్న అవలక్షణాన్ని పాజిటివ్ గా చూసే స్వీటీ (అంకిత ( Ankitha Kharat )) అతడి జీవితంలోకి ఎంట్రీ ఇస్తుంది. స్వీటీ ఎంట్రీ తర్వాత రాజు జీవితంలో ఎలాంటి మార్పులు వచ్చాయి? అనేది “రాజు యాదవ్” సినిమా కథాంశం.

నటీనటుల పనితీరు: నటుడిగా గెటప్ శ్రీను ప్రతిభ గురించి ప్రత్యేకించి చెప్పాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు. ఎలాంటి పాత్రలోనైనా, ఎలాంటి బాడీ లాంగ్వేజ్ అయినా అలవోకగా ఆకళింపు చేసుకుని పాత్రలో జీవించేస్తాడు శ్రీను. అయితే.. ఎమోషనల్ సీన్స్ లో మాత్రం తన నటనతో అలరించలేకపోయాడు శ్రీను. ముఖ్యంగా ఫైట్ సీన్ లో శ్రీను నటన కాస్త అతిగా ఉంటుంది.

అంకిత గ్లామర్ యాడ్ చేసింది కానీ.. నటిగా మాత్రం కనీస స్థాయిలో కూడా ఆకట్టుకోలేకపోయింది. నిజానికి చాలా షేడ్స్ ఉన్న క్యారెక్టర్. ఇలా ముంబై మోడల్ ను కాకుండా.. నటించడం తెలిసిన ఒక తెలుగు నటిని తీసుకొని ఉంటే స్వీటీ పాత్ర మరింతగా కనెక్ట్ అయ్యేది. తండ్రిగా ఆనంద చక్రపాణి ( Ananda Chakrapani ) పర్వాలేదనిపించుకున్నాడు. జబర్దస్త్ సన్నీ ( Jabardasth Sunny) , మిర్చి హేమంత్ తదితరులు నవ్వించే ప్రయత్నం చేసారు.

సాంకేతికవర్గం పనితీరు: హర్షవర్ధన్ రామేశ్వర్ ( Harshvardhan Rameshwar ) & సురేష్ బొబ్బిలి అందించిన బాణీలు, నేపథ్య సంగీతం బాగున్నాయి. సాయిరాం సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ వర్క్ సోసోగా ఉంది. కాకపోతే.. ఇచ్చిన బడ్జెట్ లో బెటర్ అవుట్ పుట్ ఇచ్చాడనే చెప్పాలి. ప్రొడక్షన్ డిజైన్, డి.ఐ, కలరింగ్ తదితర టెక్నికాలటీస్ గురించి ఎంత తక్కువ మాట్లాడుకుంటే అంత మంచిది.

దర్శకుడు కృష్ణమాచారి ఎంచుకున్న పాయింట్ మంచిదే. రీసెంట్ గా వచ్చిన “బేబీ” (Baby) రిజల్ట్ బట్టి.. ఈ పాయింట్ కు కూడా మంచి రిసెప్షన్ వచ్చేది. కానీ.. కీలకపాత్రధారి అయిన అంకిత క్యారెక్టర్ ను ఆడియన్స్ కనెక్ట్ అయ్యేలా చేయలేకపోవడంతో రెగ్యులర్ ఫెయిల్యూర్ లవ్ స్టోరీగా ఈ చిత్రం మిగిలిపోయింది. గెటప్ శ్రీను మంచి నటుడు అని ప్రత్యేకంగా ప్రూవ్ చేయడం కోసం ఇరికించిన సన్నివేశాల మీద పెట్టిన శ్రద్ధలో సగం..

కథనం మీద పెట్టి ఉంటే సినిమా కచ్చితంగా ఒక వర్గం ప్రేక్షకులకైనా కనెక్ట్ అయ్యేది. రెండూ లోపించడంతో “రాజు యాదవ్” సినిమాగా ప్రేక్షకుల్ని అలరించలేకపోయింది. దర్శకుడిగా, రచయితగా కృష్ణమాచారి విఫలమయ్యాడు.

విశ్లేషణ: విఫల ప్రేమకథలు ప్రేక్షకులకు కొత్త కాదు. ప్రేక్షకులు కనెక్ట్ అయ్యేలా పాత్రలు తీర్చిదిద్దగలిగితే.. సినిమా బ్లాక్ బస్టర్ అవ్వడం ఖాయమని ఈమధ్యకాలంలో వచ్చిన చాలా సినిమాలు ప్రూవ్ చేశాయి. అయితే.. “రాజు యాదవ్”లో గెటప్ శ్రీను నటప్రాభవం మినహా.. ఆకట్టుకునే అంశం ఒక్కటి కూడా లేకపోవడంతో సినిమా చతికిలపడింది.

Telugu Film Aarambham OTT Release Date & Platform Revealed

The Telugu science fiction drama Aarambham , which premiered in theaters on May 10, 2024, is now set to debut on a digital platform. Recently, an OTT giant confirmed that Aarambham will soon be available to stream on their platform.

Based on the Kannada novel Neenu Ninnolage Khaidi by Anush A Shetty, Aarambham failed to meet audiences’ expectations. It was directed by Ajay Nag V. and produced under the banner of AVT Entertainment. The film cast includes Mohan Bhagath in the lead role, along with a stellar cast including Supritha Sathyanarayan, Bhushan Kalyan, and Ravindra Vijay. Moreover, the film received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification.

Aarambham centers around the story of Miguel, prisoner number 299. He was serving time for a murder case. However, he escapes from Kalaghati Jail, leaving behind a diary. The police department then hires two detectives to find him, and they uncover some unbelievable revelations along the way.

The Telugu science fiction drama Aarambham is set to make its digital debut on ETV Win on May 23, 2024 . ETV Win made the announcement on their X (formerly Twitter) account along with a short glimpse. The platform captioned, “Experience Aarambham the Sci-fi drama with an intriguing dejavu effect from May 23rd. ManaWin lo. @etvwin Aarambham Premieres May 23 on ETV WIN App.” However, audiences who have missed its theatrical run can now enjoy it online.

In a recent interview, director Ajay Nag V mentioned that he aimed to keep the story simple despite its inherent complexities. He said , “When I began working on the film, I was clear that the narrative should not be complicated. The story has a few complexities but our narration is simple. Quite often, film students tend to make their first films complex and indulgent in their eagerness to showcase their skills. I tried to avoid that.”

As Aarambham gears up for its digital release, it will be intriguing to see how the audience reacts.

ముందుగా ఈ సినిమా కథ విషయానికి వస్తే రాజు యాదవ్ అనే ఒక వ్యక్తి తన బాడీలో జరిగిన కొన్ని మార్పులు వల్ల ఆయన ఎప్పటికీ నవ్వుతూనే ఉంటాడు. ఇక దానివల్ల ఆయన చాలా రకాల ఇబ్బందులను కూడా ఎదుర్కొంటూ ఉంటారు. జనాలు చాలామంది వీడికి పిచ్చా ఏంటి అని అనుకుంటున్నారు. కానీ తను అలాంటి ఒక ప్రాబ్లం ను ఫేస్ చేస్తూ చాలా ఇబ్బందులకు గురి అవుతూ ఉంటాడు.తన ఫేస్ మీద నుంచి నవ్వు పోయి మామూలు మనుషులాగ కావాలంటే తనకు ఒక సర్జరీ కూడా చేయాల్సిన అవసరం అయితే ఉంటుంది.

Telugu Film Aarambham OTT Release Date & Platform Revealed

The Telugu science fiction drama Aarambham , which premiered in theaters on May 10, 2024, is now set to debut on a digital platform. Recently, an OTT giant confirmed that Aarambham will soon be available to stream on their platform.

Based on the Kannada novel Neenu Ninnolage Khaidi by Anush A Shetty, Aarambham failed to meet audiences’ expectations. It was directed by Ajay Nag V. and produced under the banner of AVT Entertainment. The film cast includes Mohan Bhagath in the lead role, along with a stellar cast including Supritha Sathyanarayan, Bhushan Kalyan, and Ravindra Vijay. Moreover, the film received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification.

Aarambham centers around the story of Miguel, prisoner number 299. He was serving time for a murder case. However, he escapes from Kalaghati Jail, leaving behind a diary. The police department then hires two detectives to find him, and they uncover some unbelievable revelations along the way.

The Telugu science fiction drama Aarambham is set to make its digital debut on ETV Win on May 23, 2024 . ETV Win made the announcement on their X (formerly Twitter) account along with a short glimpse. The platform captioned, “Experience Aarambham the Sci-fi drama with an intriguing dejavu effect from May 23rd. ManaWin lo. @etvwin Aarambham Premieres May 23 on ETV WIN App.” However, audiences who have missed its theatrical run can now enjoy it online.

In a recent interview, director Ajay Nag V mentioned that he aimed to keep the story simple despite its inherent complexities. He said , “When I began working on the film, I was clear that the narrative should not be complicated. The story has a few complexities but our narration is simple. Quite often, film students tend to make their first films complex and indulgent in their eagerness to showcase their skills. I tried to avoid that.”

As Aarambham gears up for its digital release, it will be intriguing to see how the audience reacts.

Many comedians have taken on leading roles. Following in their footsteps, Getup Srinu, best known for his 'Jabardasth' comedy skits, made his debut as a hero in "Raju Yadav".

Let us check its merits and demerits.

Story: Raju Yadav (Getup Srinu) is hit by a cricket ball, leaving him with a permanent smiling face because he does not have enough money for surgery. One day, he encounters a girl at a police station and falls for her.

Sweety (Ankita Kharat) despises his continual smile and stalking tactics, but she develops feelings for him as she learns the truth about his appearance.

After Sweety finds a job with a company in Hyderabad, they become close and go intimate. But then Raju Yadav notices another aspect of this girl. What did Sweety do to shock him?

Artistes’ Performances: Getup Srinu plays his role in an okay manner. He does not have the look of a lead hero, nor does his role have such an effect. He just plays an ordinary guy from a small town quite routinely.

Ankita Kharat, the film's newcomer, is another weak link. Other performers go about their business in a regular manner.

Technical Excellence: Harshvardhan Rameshwar's first song and last song are satisfactory. Other songs fail to impress. The film exhibits subpar production quality and the camerawork is rudimentary. The editing and the writing are so basic.

Highlights: Slightly better moments in second half

Drawback: Amateurish direction Boring moments Unnecessary adult content

Analysis "Raju Yadav," the debut film of comedian Getup Srinu as the hero, fails to engage the audience. The first half of the film centers entirely on Raju Yadav, a failing graduate with deformed face who is enamored by the attractiveness of a local girl. The main story, or whatever we call it, unfolds in the latter part of the film.

It is established that the girl (the film’s heroine) has been very clear about what she wants from the start. Despite the girl's refusals, the hero continues to follow her, and he feels duped when she does something shocking to him.

The makers claimed that the plot was inspired by true incidents, however the main issue is the protagonist's amateurish behaviour. Not only does the protagonist's character lack depth, but so does the director's narration.

Filmmakers should stop portraying fit-for-nothing guys into heroes. This story's protagonist comes from a lower middle-class household; he cannot find work because he failed his graduation and does nothing for a living; yet, he tries to impress a girl who is well-educated and working. The person in question lacks heroic qualities.

The first half of the film is set in a small town and the hero’s attempts to impress the girl, but the second half changes its tone, depicts some intimate sequences, and goes down the 'RX100' route to some extent.

The incompetent direction and ludicrous sequences, however, bore us more than the story or characters. Everything in the movie is corny and absurd. To sit through this requires a tremendous level of patience.

Overall, "Raju Yadav" is uninteresting from beginning to end. For Getup Srinu, this is a bad start as a hero; for moviegoers, it's another headache film.

Bottom line: Amateurish
