ICT Mentorship 2022 - Notes and Homework

Hi, does anybody feel like doing some discussion on video about charts?

yes that would be great

Old threads are around if you dig. Was a total ā– ā– ā– ā–  show. Maybe deleted. Sock puppeting and building expectations that are never met. Some things never change around here. Dude ruined this site, thatā€™s why I left.

Yea, I came across a few of them and it was horrible. A lot of mixed opinions too. Like the disappointment and feelings of being led around by ex-students and more moderate opinions, like, how theyā€™d understand if he just took the L on those challenges but his ego would never allow it.

Thereā€™s also folks like Clint trying to preserve his content and most/all of his content being deleted cause of BP trademark in them. This is why Iā€™m personally trying to keep an open mind cause if the content helps budding traders be good it should be alright. Not a fan of folks trying to recruit newbies into ICT like a cult though. Like the claims that ICT & SMC being the only way to succeed and profit.

Back in the day when ict was foc Clint listed all the abbreviations in one place to help learners who were continually asking what does OTE mean etc etc.

I would guess his intention was to help learners like all his post are.

I personally listed my own notes on various videos giving the theme and placement within the video - again to help with all the questions as to where and how.

That was back in the day - my own posting was amended when ict withdrew his videos from youtube and left BP in a huff.

Itā€™s all old hash - I needed to learn TA after learning FA for about 30 years - as they say - you cannot have one without the other :).

There are lots other guys out there who are willing to give a bit of time - Tom Dante is one - worth a listen because he gives thinking to TA ( itā€™s an oldie).

Reading the Mind of The Markets - Trading Process by Kam Dhadwar and Trader Dante - YouTube

Yea that was probably it. Thought I saw a post of Clintā€™s indexing the various ICT content but I could be wrong. Found this post by Clint that explains his POV, as of 2016 atleast.

I was also wrong about the BP content copyright. Looks like it was copyright claim by ICT instead:

ICT copyright claim

Much thanks. Will give it a look. I donā€™t mind old stuff tbh. Iā€™ve already made up my mind to go through more stuff by J Welles Wilder Jr. much later if possible, like this thread (still unread).

Brilliant stuff this daily observation sheet and the flowchart against Danteā€™s plan. Havenā€™t watched it in full (Kam Dadwarā€™s portion) yet but Iā€™m already wondering how I can adapt some of these ideas.

How we perceive the ego of others is often inflated in our minds so we can play the victim or hero. People are smarter than we realize and sometimes we project our own ego issue onto others. Always ask, what if im wrong here. Youre welcome

Youā€™re absolutely right. I hope to find you applying the same principles going forward. Remember, donā€™t jump to conclusion about other people. Youā€™re welcome.

Hello all. Im new in ict way. I already look the 2022 vids and look for Answers about the fvg setup. I understand we have to buy old low and sell old high if the setup occur. But , i confuse about the choice. What make a old low or old high valid ? I mean does it need to be in the last session like london ? In the current session ? And how to dƩtermine the bias ? Because if i buy old low and the flow is bearish i will kicked thats it ? Ty for future responses

Why does it matter so much to you that others dissolve their ego before you do? How do you know what they feel inside. People like to play hide and seek. Always ask what are they hiding humility or arrogance. Many times if they display humility theyre hiding arrogance, if they display arrogance theyre hiding humility.

Trading forces you to be honest before granting access to consistency. Players in a zero sum game are often not how they seem. Taking the risk of being scammed will cut your learning curve in half. Not taking the risk and fearing the liars out there, figuring it out yourself is the longest path, i know because thats the path i chose. It was a mistake.

Good question. I hope you take the opportunity to reflect and answer this for yourself one day. Youā€™re welcome.

Im already consistent but i took the long 10year path because i didnt trust those who were willing to help because they did not qualify in my mind, they seemed too egotistical to be genuine. It was a mistake, one that many traders make, you might be just like me, too proud to submit. Its gonna be ok just know you are on the longest path

Needed some clarification after watching Video 2 so I can start backtesting the concept (Only focusing on Short Setup at the moment).

image

  • Check D1 and H4 and determine the overall MS.
  • For Short Setup BSL is taken and Break in MS.
  • Go to 15min or lower time frame and find imbalance
  • Wait for FVG and enter position with SL.

Now my question is for this setup to work, does both SSL and BSL must be taken before the break of MS or does one has to be enough for this setup to work. It looks like in this example, the liquidity was engineered by taking the SSL first followed by BSL and thatā€™s what I need clarification on. Is it that both SSL and BSL must be taken for this setup to be valid.

@ICTMentorship2022 , I would really appreciate if you can clarify this.

Great post, thank you. Iā€™m at the video 3 and Iā€™ve had a HARD TIME understanding this.

I went back and used the Replay function. Why wouldnā€™t we take this trade?

Looks like a good opportunity at first but itā€™s not. Why is that? Obviously the good sell trade comes later, but I can not see a reason for which I would have ignored that FVG.

It seems that no one posted on this thread for a while.

Can anyone guide me on how can I trade E Mini Futures on a demo account on MT4?

Best i can suggest is oanda - they have the SPX500 incl futures prices on MT4 demo - good for learning.

use price action ICT way to determine bias

Hello ty for the response. But which way u mean ? Like 9 ans 18 ema ? Or another ?

The fvg got filled as you saw, but the buy side liquidity was still open. -> equal highs = candlyland. So it was better to wait for a stop hunt / stop raid and to look for a sell after.

With valuable insights and strategies, this episode equips traders with the tools they need to enhance their trading setups and decision-making processes.

Table of Contents

Analyzing Trade Setups

Traders analyze various components of a trade setup, such as price levels, indicators, patterns, and market conditions, to identify key elements that align with their trading strategy. By analyzing trade entries, traders can determine the optimal points at which to enter a trade.

This involves studying price levels and patterns to identify potential entry points that offer favorable risk-reward ratios. Additionally, evaluating trade risk is crucial in order to manage potential losses. Traders assess the market conditions, volatility, and potential obstacles that may affect their trades.

Understanding Price Targets and Liquidity

Understanding price targets and liquidity can help traders anticipate potential price movements and make informed decisions about setting their trade goals.

Price manipulation is a common tactic used by market participants to influence prices in their favor. When expecting prices to go down, there might be attempts to trigger buy orders or take out recent highs before the downward movement occurs. Similarly, when expecting prices to go up, there might be attempts to trigger sell orders or take out recent lows before the upward movement happens. Traders need to be aware of these tactics and consider them when setting price targets.

Additionally, understanding liquidity levels is crucial for effective trade execution. Short-term lows in prices can act as areas where sell orders are placed, creating liquidity in the market. Traders need to consider these dynamics when managing their trades and executing their strategies.

Importance of Time Frames in Trading

Analyzing different time frames helps traders gain a comprehensive view of market dynamics and make more informed trading decisions.

Time frame selection for day trading strategies:

Day traders often use shorter time frames, such as 1-minute or 5-minute charts, to identify intraday trends and spot potential entry and exit points. These shorter time frames provide more detailed information about price movements and allow traders to capitalize on short-term market fluctuations. Day traders need to be mindful of market volatility and liquidity when selecting their time frames, as these factors can greatly impact their trading strategies.

The role of time frames in swing trading techniques:

Swing traders focus on capturing larger price movements over a few days or weeks. They typically use longer time frames, such as daily or weekly charts, to identify longer-term trends and key support and resistance levels. These longer time frames provide a broader perspective of the market, helping swing traders make more strategic decisions and avoid getting caught in short-term market noise.

Predicting the Next Weekly Candlestick

Before making trading decisions, it is important to consider the potential direction of the next weekly candlestick. Predictive analysis plays a key role in determining this direction. Traders analyze various factors such as market trends, indicators, and other relevant information to form a directional outlook for the upcoming week. While predicting the exact closing price is not necessary, the focus is on the overall bias of the next weekly candlestick. Candlestick patterns are often used in this analysis, as they provide valuable insights into market sentiment and potential price movements. By recognizing and interpreting these patterns, traders can gain an edge in their decision-making process. Incorporating candlestick patterns into predictive analysis enhances the traderā€™s ability to identify potential trading opportunities and manage their trades effectively.

Factors Impacting the Weekly Candle

Changes in interest rates can significantly impact various financial markets, including bonds, currencies, and equities, influencing the direction of the weekly candlestick. Factors influencing market trends and the role of earnings reports in candlestick patterns are important considerations for traders.

Here are some key factors impacting the weekly candle:

Seasonal tendencies: Patterns or trends that occur during specific times of the year in various markets or industries can affect the weekly candlestick.

Changes in interest rates: Interest rate changes can have a significant impact on financial markets, affecting the direction of the weekly candlestick.

Earning seasons: During these specific time periods, many publicly traded companies release their quarterly earnings reports, which can have a significant impact on the weekly candlestick.

Analyzing these factors, along with other market dynamics and indicators, can help traders make informed decisions and predictions about the direction of the weekly candlestick.

Analyzing Market Trends and Indicators

Traders can gain valuable insights by analyzing market trends and indicators to inform their trading decisions. By studying market trends, traders can identify patterns and potential opportunities for profit. They can use indicators such as moving averages, Bollinger Bands, and relative strength index (RSI) to confirm market trends and determine the strength of price movements. These tools help traders identify profitable entry points and make informed decisions on when to buy or sell.

Identifying Key Elements for Successful Trades

By identifying key elements that align with their trading strategy, traders can increase the probability of a successful trade. This involves analyzing various components of a trade setup, such as price levels, indicators, patterns, and market conditions. Additionally, traders need to consider psychological factors in successful trades and implement risk management strategies for trade setups.

Some important elements to consider for successful trades include:

Price Targets and Liquidity: Understanding attempts to trigger orders and the creation of liquidity in the market can help set effective price targets and manage trades.

Importance of Time Frames: Choosing the right time frames that align with the trading strategy allows for a comprehensive view of market dynamics and better analysis.

Predicting the Next Weekly Candlestick: Assessing the potential direction of the next weekly candlestick based on market trends and relevant information helps form a directional outlook for the upcoming week.

Managing Trades With Stop Orders

When managing trades, traders can utilize stop orders to protect their positions and limit potential losses. Using stop orders effectively is an essential part of risk management in trading.

A stop order is placed at a predetermined price level, and when that price is reached, the order is triggered, and the trade is automatically closed. This helps traders avoid significant losses if the market moves against their position. Stop orders can be set at different levels depending on the traderā€™s risk tolerance and trading strategy.

By setting a stop order, traders can define their maximum acceptable loss and exit the trade if that level is reached. This allows them to manage their risk effectively and protect their capital.

Implementing stop orders is a crucial skill for traders to minimize potential losses and safeguard their trading positions.

Utilizing Different Time Frames for Analysis

Utilizing various time frames for analysis provides traders with a comprehensive view of market dynamics and helps them make informed trading decisions. By analyzing multiple time frames, traders can gain a deeper understanding of price movements and trends.

Here are the benefits of using longer time frames:

More reliable trend identification: Longer time frames, such as daily or weekly charts, provide a clearer picture of the overall market trend. This helps traders to avoid false signals and make more accurate predictions.

Reduced noise and increased accuracy: Longer time frames filter out short-term market fluctuations and noise, allowing traders to focus on significant price movements and patterns. This leads to more accurate analysis and improved decision-making.

Enhanced risk management: Longer time frames provide traders with a wider perspective on support and resistance levels, allowing for better risk management. This enables traders to set appropriate stop-loss levels and target profits more effectively.

Seasonal Tendencies in Financial Markets

Seasonal tendencies in financial markets can provide valuable insights into patterns or trends that occur during specific times of the year in various industries or markets. Traders and investors often analyze these seasonal patterns to gain a better understanding of the market dynamics and make informed decisions.

By studying historical data, they can identify recurring patterns that occur at certain times of the year. This information can be used to develop trading strategies and adjust investment portfolios accordingly.

Indicators play a crucial role in market analysis, as they help identify potential entry and exit points based on the impact of seasonal patterns. By combining the analysis of seasonal tendencies with the use of indicators, traders can increase their chances of success in the financial markets.

Impact of Interest Rate Changes

Interest rate changes have a significant impact on various financial markets, including bonds, currencies, and equities.

The impact of interest rate changes on currency markets is profound. When interest rates increase, the value of a currency tends to rise as investors seek higher returns. Conversely, when interest rates decrease, the value of a currency may decline as investors look for better opportunities elsewhere. This can lead to currency volatility and fluctuations in exchange rates.

On the other hand, the implications of interest rate changes on bond yields are also noteworthy. When interest rates rise, bond yields typically increase, making existing bonds less attractive and leading to a decline in bond prices. Conversely, when interest rates fall, bond yields tend to decrease, making existing bonds more valuable.

Therefore, interest rate changes can have significant consequences for both currency markets and bond yields.

Analyzing Price Action on Weekly and Daily Charts

Analyzing price action on weekly and daily charts provides traders with valuable insights into the movement and behavior of prices over time. By analyzing candlestick patterns and identifying support and resistance levels, traders can gain a deeper understanding of market dynamics.

Candlestick patterns offer visual representations of price movements and can indicate potential trend reversals or continuations. Support and resistance levels, on the other hand, help traders identify areas where prices are likely to encounter buying or selling pressure. These levels can act as barriers for price movement and provide traders with potential entry and exit points.

What Are Some Common Seasonal Tendencies in Financial Markets?

Seasonal patterns in financial markets are common occurrences that traders should be aware of. These patterns refer to trends or behaviors that happen during specific times of the year.

For example, the stock market tends to experience increased volatility during earnings seasons when companies release their quarterly reports. Additionally, certain industries may be affected by seasonal factors such as holidays or weather conditions.

Understanding these tendencies can help traders make more informed decisions and adjust their strategies accordingly. Implementing best practices for risk management is crucial in navigating these seasonal fluctuations.

How Do Changes in Interest Rates Impact Various Financial Markets?

Changes in interest rates have a significant impact on various financial markets. When interest rates rise, it can lead to increased borrowing costs for businesses and consumers, which can potentially slow down economic activity. This, in turn, can affect stock market performance as companies may experience lower profits and reduced investor confidence.

Additionally, changes in interest rates can influence the demand for bonds and currencies, causing fluctuations in their prices. Overall, the relationship between interest rates and financial markets is complex and requires careful analysis to understand their impact on different asset classes.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

<< Previous page

Pages:  379-406

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E.Š²Š‚Š‡Kilunovskaya and V. A.Š²Š‚Š‡Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
