Spotify stats: the 7 best websites for getting data and insights on your music

See your music habits in a new way

Two phones on a pink background showing the new Spotify app

If you're deep into your Spotify stats, you should know that a host of external apps and websites have sprung up, ready to offer you a new perspective on the music you listen to and how you listen to it – and perhaps reveal some insights that might surprise you.

Every year we see Spotify do its own deep dive into its users' listening history in the form of Spotify Wrapped , but that's just the start of what's possible. By plugging in one or two or more of these web apps into your Spotify library, you can create all kinds of weird and wonderful breakdowns of your tunes.

Here we've picked out 7 of the best tools that you can connect to your Spotify account and see your listening habits in a different way – and the more time you spend on Spotify, the more detailed these insights are.

1. Stats for Spotify

Stats for Spotify web app

Stats for Spotify tells you pretty much everything you need to know about it in its name: you get a comprehensive breakdown of everything you've listened to on the streaming service in seconds, just by clicking on the Login with Spotify button.

Once you've logged in, you can pick from Top Tracks , Top Artists , and Top Genres . In each case, you have the option of seeing data from the last four weeks, the last six months, or ever since you opened your Spotify account (which could be well over a decade).

The site gives you a reason to keep coming back too, because it can show you changes in chart positions since you last visited. What's more, you have the option to export any of the charts you see as playlists which you can then listen to through the Spotify apps.

2. How Bad is Your Streaming Music?

How Bad is Your Streaming Music? web app

For a more tongue-in-cheek look at your listening habits, try the How Bad Is Your Streaming Music? site. It's not just for Spotify, because you can connect up your Apple Music account to it too, but the features are the same no matter which account you use.

Get daily insight, inspiration and deals in your inbox

Get the hottest deals available in your inbox plus news, reviews, opinion, analysis and more from the TechRadar team.

The site is apparently powered by a "sophisticated AI" trained on data from well-known trendsetters in music – we're not sure how true that is, but the queries we got asked about the more dubious parts of our listening history made us laugh, at least.

For example, we were asked if we listened to the Killers "ironically" or not, and were met with several other sarcastic comments. At the end of the analysis process, you'll be told just how bad your taste in music is, in an entertaining and imaginative fashion.

Last fm web app

One of the reasons why you might want to use Last.fm to analyze your Spotify listening history is that it supports all kinds of other music streaming services, too. If you want a central place where all your music habits are gathered together, Last.fm could be it.

After you've connected Spotify and any other streaming services to your Last.fm account, there are heaps of listening statistics to browse through. You can look at breakdowns by artist, album and song, across recent history or periods spanning several years.

Something else Last.fm does really well is recommend new music that you might like, based on what you've already got in heavy rotation. Like the new Spotify AI DJ , it's a great way of discovering artists that you might not have otherwise come across, courtesy of the Last.fm algorithm.

4. Obscurify

Obscurify web app

Obscurify is a tool for those who like to think their music taste is a level above the average: it'll analyze your Spotify history and tell you just how non-mainstream your choice of artists and genres is, compared to their popularity across the whole of Spotify.

Dig further into the data, and Obscurify can tell you about the average mood of the songs you listen to, and whether it's getting happier or sadder. Your listening habits are also ranked on their energy levels, danceability and acousticness, so there's lots to explore.

The site will tell you which of the songs and the artists in your Spotify record are the most obscure, and will even throw up some suitably niche recommendations that you might want to check out at the end, so your library can become even more eclectic.

5. Spotify Pie

Spotify Pie web app

We've previously written about how Spotify Pie can cook up a pie chart of your listening habits on Spotify, and with this particular site the focus is very much on the genres you've been sticking to recently: rock, electronica, garage, dance, pop, or whatever it is.

Using the site couldn't really be much easier, and you just need to click the big green button to start the login process. Your pie chart will show up in just a few seconds, showing all the genres you've been listening to on Spotify over the course of the last month.

Spotify can be quite specific when it comes to music genres, so you might find you've got thinner pie slices than you were expecting – you can remove a slice from the chart by clicking on its label. Below the pie is a list of the artists you've been listening to the most.

6. Sort Your Music

Sort Your Music web app

Sort Your Music will do just that, organizing your Spotify playlists by a number of criteria – tempo, volume, danceability, popularity, valence (mood) and more. To get started and let the app at your Spotify stats, click on the green login button in the center of the screen.

You'll then be asked to pick one of your existing Spotify playlists, at which point the sorting can begin. Across the top of the screen you'll see the criteria available, from the year a song was released to its beats-per-minute – click a column heading to sort the playlist.

Playlists can be sorted in ascending and descending order too, so you could start with the slowest or the fastest songs. When the sorting is done, you can save the results as a new playlist if you'd like to, which will then be available through your Spotify account.

7. Icebergify

Icebergify web app

Icebergify might seem like an odd name for a Spotify plug-in, but that's exactly what it does: it creates an iceberg-style representation of the music you've been listening to on the service, ranking the artists you like based on how popular (or otherwise) they are.

Click the Create yours button, confirm that you want to give the site access to your Spotify data, and your iceberg will appear. The site starts off with your iceberg for the last month, but you can follow the link on screen to see your all-time Spotify iceberg instead.

The site uses popularity on Spotify as a way of interpreting how obscure or mainstream artists are. The well-known artists you listen to a lot are above the water line, and the lesser-known ones are below, so you can see just how unusual your music taste is.

22+ Awesome Spotify Stats Websites To Explore

With hundreds of millions of users , Spotify serves as the primary choice for many households when it comes to listening to their favorite music and discovering new artists.

With the meteoric rise in popularity of this platform, there’s also a rise in websites that collect and generate interesting stats for Spotify users.

These websites generally allow music fans to view their listening habits, find out what songs and artists they’ve listened to the most, and discover new music. However, the list of stats and features that can be obtained with these platforms is truly limitless.

In this guide, we’ll be looking over 22+ of the best Spotify stats websites to help analyze your listening habits:

1. Spotilyze

Spotilyze allows users to explore, analyze, and understand their music using Spotify’s own API. This website gathers information pertaining to your playlists and then shows the results in a visually appealing style.

With the data it collects from your playlists, it’s able to give you knowledge about the moods of your playlists, the popularity of the songs you listen to, and much more. It also allows you to create fresh customized playlists with your favorite songs.

Plus, Spotilyze allows users to create new playlists centered around their favorite tracks as dissected by Spotilyze.

For those worried about security, you don’t need to worry about your information being stored on Spotilyze’s website. They’ve promised that they do not retain information regarding you or your playlists, keeping both you and your personal information safe.

Ideal for: Music lovers who want to analyze their taste in music securely.

2. Judge My Spotify

Want a side of humor with your music?

Formerly known as How Bad Is Your Spotify, Judge my Spotify is based mostly on humor and satire. As the name suggests, Judge my Spotify uses an AI system to analyze your listening habits and then judge your taste in music based on its findings.

It receives this information via your top artists, songs, and your most-listened-to genres. After it analyzes your listening habits, as well as your favorite songs and artists, it then makes fun of you over your taste in music.

It’s all in jest, however, and most users can find and appreciate the humor in the jokes.  Plus, like Spotilyze, Judge my Spotify does not store any of your Spotify data or statistics, keeping you and your online privacy safe and secure.

Ideal for: Music lovers who also love satire.

3. Discover Quickly

Discover Quickly allows users to quickly find new music to listen to based on their current and past listening habits.

Using Discover Quickly, you can easily manage your playlists and most-listened-to artists and songs. Their filtering system also allows you to filter between categories, such as popularity and more.

Another notable feature of Discover Quickly is the fact that you can hover your mouse on any album cover and the most prominent part of the song will play. This allows you to hear the best part of the song to see if it fits your taste without having to listen to the entire track.

Finally, you can select a genre on Discover Weekly to allow the website to throw together a playlist with songs from that genre. It’s the perfect way to discover new music quickly.

Ideal for:  Music enthusiasts who want to find new music quickly.

4. Stats for Spotify

Stats for Spotify is a website with the most basic user interface, which makes it simple and straightforward to use. It provides you with an in-depth insight into your listening history, including the tracks, artists, and genres associated with your Spotify account.

With Stats for Spotify, you can learn what your taste in music is and discover your most-listened-to tracks and artists to develop a new appreciation for them. Plus, you can put together charts based on this information, which can be viewed between three different time periods.

In addition to these features, you can also compare your current session with the stats from your last visit. By doing so, you can gain knowledge about your personal ranking and how it changes each time.

Unfortunately, this does mean that Stats for Spotify stores your data; however, like with most websites, you’re welcome to delete and unlink your account at any time.

Ideal for: Music lovers who want basic information and an easy-to-use interface.

  5. Spotify Pie

Spotify Pie is, undoubtedly, a cool and unique concept. While the analysis of your Spotify listening habits is anything but unique, the end result is pretty special: a pie chart featuring the genres you have listened to in the past month.

Created by Darren Huang with the tagline “bake your monthly genre pie”, Spotify Pie is a unique spin on other Spotify statistic websites. Besides displaying your favorite genres of music, Spotify Pie will also generate a list of your monthly top artists below the pie chart so you can see who you’ve listened to the most in the last 30 days.

Recently, Spotify Pie has become quite popular among social media users, especially those on Twitter and Facebook who love to share their genre-specific pie charts with their family and friends.

Ideal for: Music lovers who want to share their favorite genre of music with their family and friends.

6. Obscurify

Obscurify was created by Alex Olivero and Nirmal Patel as a means to help listeners to gain a better understanding of their music taste.

With the assistance of Spotify’s Web API, Obscurify allows you to see your listening history, find out your most-listened-to genres, and receive suggestions for obscure songs that you might like.

Another great feature is the ability to add music to playlists and import them straight to your Spotify library, eliminating the hassle of you having to do it manually. Plus, your Obscurify profile can be shared with your friends by simply turning the feature on in the menu and sharing your generated link to your circle.

Finally, Obscurify offers an obscurity rating which compares the artists in your Spotify history to other Obsurify users in your country, placing a rating on your profile. If you have a unique taste in music, you’ll receive a higher rating. However, if you have a more generic and popular taste, then your rating will be lower.

Ideal for: Music lovers who are interested in expanding their library with unique content.

7. Visualify

Visualify relies heavily on visuals to display your listening habits. This website gathers and analyzes your Spotify history and then presents you with the top five artists and songs you’ve listened to in three options: the past month, past year, and of all time.

Unfortunately, this website provides limited access to the rest of your listening history, so if you want to see more than just your top five favorite artists then this isn’t the website for you.

However, Visualify does have a cool feature that other spotify stats don’t:

It allows you to make your own artwork via the View Artwork button, which organizes your top five artists and songs into a poster that can be customized with various layout options. You can then purchase this poster and have a special memory of your music taste in your room.

Ideal for: Music lovers who want a physical keepsake (poster) of their most-listened-to artists and songs.

8. Last.fm

Last.fm has been around for a while; in fact, this website got its start four years before Spotify was even released! It’s remained as one of the most popular music analysis websites ever since.

You can analyze your music taste from a variety of different sources, Spotify included, but you will have to link your Spotify to your Last.fm account. This can easily be done by:

  • Clicking on your profile picture
  • Heading into Settings and Applications and then selecting Connect beside the Spotify Scrobbling option.

Last.fm allows you to track your music history long-term. When you play a song, the song is logged into the Last.fm system as a scrobble. This allows you insight into how many times a certain song or artist has been played.

You also get a look into your top artists, albums, and songs each week, as well as when you were most actively listening to music.

Ideal for:  Big-time music lovers who want their music tracked long-term.

9. Whisperify

Another unique concept that does more than just provide analysis and insight into your Spotify listening habits, Whisperify provides you with quizzes based on your Spotify playlists and songs.

Plus, you can challenge your friends to these quizzes, too, and see who knows their music better. There’s even a leaderboard that keeps track of high scores and lists the top users.

This website provides you and other users with an interactive way to learn more about your favorite songs. Whisperify will select ten songs and proceed to play you 5-second snippets of each song. You’ll get a set amount of time to guess the song, and your score will be based on your speed and accuracy.

Aside from the quiz aspect of Whisperify, this website also shows you details about your listening habits, providing you with statistics on your favorite songs and more.

Ideal for: Music fans who want to test their knowledge based on their favorite artists and songs.

10. MusicTaste.Space

MusicTaste.Space allows you to easily compare and share your listening habits with your family and friends. In doing this, you can determine how compatible your music taste is with your friends, family, and most importantly, your significant other.

It’s easy to do, too. All you have to do is share a link to the person you want to compare music with, and the site will show any overlap in music taste.

Not to mention, MusicTaste.Space analyzes components such as acoustics, energy, and mood before comparing them to the U.S average. Plus, it allows you to sort through your music using things like beats-per-minute (BPM) and intensity, giving you plenty of insight into your listening habits.

It’s also a great way to create shared playlists between you and your friends, and to discover new music from playlists generated by the MusicTaste.Space platform.

Ideal for:  Music lovers who want to compare their music taste against the music taste of a family member or friend.

11. Sort Your Music

As the name suggests, Sort Your Music is a great Spotify website analysis tool that helps you organize your music.

While Spotify is great at allowing you to sort your music by song title, duration, and date added, Sort Your Music takes it up a notch by allowing you to sort your music by beats-per-minute (BPM), energy, acoustics, danceability, and more.

Sort Your Music also has a great feature that lets you delete duplicated tracks and allows you to re-order your songs manually. The process is simple enough to sort your music:

  • Sign in with your Spotify account via the Sort Your Musi c website
  • Choose the playlist you wish to organize

Ideal for: Music lovers who want to organize their music library.

12. Receiptify

Receiptify brings another cool and unique concept to analyzing your Spotify listening habits: it generates your top songs from the past month, six months, or of all time and lists them on the image of a store receipt.

The receipt displays the rank, song title, and track duration in the fields where the quantity, item, and price would usually go on real receipts.

The Receiptify website is simple and easy-to-use, allowing you to generate your music receipt with just a few clicks. You can then share your receipt to your social media platforms to display your most-played artists and songs in a fun and unique way.

Ideal for: Music lovers who want simplicity and a clean user interface to analyze their listening habits.

13. Skiley

Skiley integrates with your Spotify account to manage and create playlists based on artificial intelligence. The playlists that Skiley creates can be filtered by genre or audio properties, making it perfect for managing your music with ease.

The technology also enables you to find new tracks to listen to by exploring songs that are similar to your favorite ones, offering the ability to archive your discoveries for easy access later on.

Another cool feature is that Skiley displays the lyrics of the song you’re listening to in real-time, meaning you’ll be able to sing along to your favorite jam or finally learn the lyrics to that song you keep butchering the words to.

Ideal for: Music lovers who want to organize their playlists and discover new artists.

14. Run BPM

Run BPM is a great website that’s geared around making  awesome running playlists. This site analyzes your listening history and allows you to filter your favorite songs by energy, mood, and BPM.

This allows you to create upbeat and motivational playlists that keep your energy and spirits high during your workout sessions.

All you need to do to create your own playlist on Run BPM is to import one or more of your Spotify playlists and then use the provided sliders to filter by BPM, energy, danceability, mood, and more. Your playlist will then be created and you can enjoy your exercise routine with some high-energy music.

Ideal for: Exercise junkies who want to get pumped up through music.

15. SongSliders

If you’re interested in discovering new songs, artists, and even playlists, then SongSliders is the website for you. This website analyzes your music tastes and required listening environment, generating playlists based on its results.

SongSliders uses both Spotify and its own algorithm to curate its playlists. You can customize various aspects of your playlists – such as danceability, popularity, and energy – using a set of sliders that are built into the application.

Once you’ve finished inputting your preferences on the sliders, SongSliders will show you songs and playlists that fit your specific needs.

Ideal for: People looking for new music to listen to for a specific listening environment.

Chosic consists of three tools that allow you to analyze and organize your music on Spotify.

The first tool – the listening stats tool – provides you with insights into your listening habits through a series of visuals. It analyzes your most-listened-to genres, artists, songs, and even moods and decades.

Next up, Chosic provides you with song recommendations through a song recommendation engine. When you find new music you like, you can simply import it into your Spotify account through Chosic’s website (so you don’t have to worry about doing it manually). This allows you to find and save new music easily so that you can listen to it again at a later date.

Finally, Chosic allows you to sort your playlists based on a distinct set of musical attributes, such as popularity, length, and danceability.

Ideal for: People who want insights into their most-listened-to genres, artists, and songs.

17. Dubolt

Dubolt is the perfect solution for those who want to discover new music that’s similar to old favorites.

Once you’ve linked your Spotify to Dubolt’s website, it lists the songs and artists you’ve recently played. From this list, you can choose a selection of tracks that you like the style of, which the website will use to suggest similar songs by new artists.

Dubolt also provides sliders that allow you to be more specific in your interests. These allow you to filter music based on popularity, energy, danceability, and more. The website also lets you set how many track suggestions you’d like to receive with each use.

Ideal for: People who want to find new music through old favorites.

19. Zodiac Affinity

Zodiac Affinity puts another interesting twist on analyzing your listening history: it selects five of your liked songs, and then compares them to different star signs.

Not only does it match your favorite songs with different zodiac signs, but it also generates playlists based on both your taste in music and your zodiac sign of choice. It can even generate a Spotify playlist for each zodiac sign based on your listening habits and history!

In fact, all you have to do is link your Spotify account to the Zodiac Affinity website, select the drop-down menu, and choose whichever Zodiac sign you want to hear a playlist based on. When you’re done with your first zodiac sign, you can move on to another one and hear discover which songs relate best to it.

21. MusicScapes

MusicScapes is another website for visual lovers. This attractive website uses your Spotify listening habits to build a landscape of intense colors. It draws on the mood, energy, acoustics, danceability, and more, and creates a landscape based on that.

Not only does it build a landscape of your songs, but it also explains the reasoning behind the visuals. It keeps things minimal to allow you to retain focus on the music – and how it relates to the visual element – rather than being distracted by the landscape.

What’s even cooler is that each landscape is different for each user, making for a wholly unique experience.

Ideal for: Music lovers who want to analyze their music and their mood.

22. Opslagify

Opslagify is a handy website that shows you the number of playlists you have, the number of songs in each playlist, and the duration of each playlist as well. It serves as a great way to see how many hours of music you have saved to your Spotify playlists.

It can be quite a surprise to find out just how many playlists you have, and even more shocking to learn how many songs and hours are on each of those playlists!

The best part of Opslagify is the fact that it shows you how much storage space you would need in order to download all of the songs from your Spotify playlists. This feature enables you to see how many gigabytes you would need to download the music files in an mp3 format.

Ideal for: Music lovers who want to see how many playlists they have, as well as how many songs are on each playlist.

The Best Spotify Stats Websites

We’ve dug into a wide selection of Spotify stats websites, analyzing how they can improve your experience with Spotify and why their core features make them the best on the market.

Here’s our list of the 10 best Spotify stats websites:

1.  Stats for Spotify

Stats For Spotify - Best Spotify Stats Websites

Stats for Spotify is one of the more basic websites that analyzes your Spotify stats and provides an overview of the tracks, artists, and genres in your account.

It allows you to create your charts based on the music you listen to, breaking down your favorite songs and switching between three different periods.

You can compare Spotify data over time, seeing how your rankings change as you continue to use the app via easy to view arrows.

This data can be organized for the previous four weeks, six months, and all time, which gives a nice overview of how your taste in artists and genres evolves as you use Spotify’s app.

Spotify features some of the most popular music genres , which can be incorporated into your bespoke playlists to help you sort your music more effectively.

Stats for Spotify can also help you identify your music taste by analyzing your top tracks and artists and showing your most played songs.

2.  Obscurify

Obscurify - Best Spotify Stats Websites

Obscurify offers users some of the features you’ll find in other Spotify stats websites while also giving you great insights into how obscure your tastes are compared to other users.

While most people listen to popular music genres such as rock and dance, some music fans like to delve into more niche genres.

Obscurify gives users a window into the odder side of music taste, giving an Obscurity rating which lets you know how your library of tracks, artists, and genres compare to others in the country you select.

The main website displays your top genres along with the top five obscure artists in your playlists, analyzing how mainstream – or not – your music taste is.

When you log into Obscurify, the website displays your top 10 genres, along with the music obscurity rating, all displayed in an easy-to-read graph.

It also makes recommendations based on your favorite tracks and artists, so if you want to know what new music you’re missing out on, Obscurify is a great resource to bookmark.

3.  Judge My Spotify

Judge My Spotify - Best Spotify Stats Websites

Judge My Spotify brings a light-hearted touch to the world of Spotify web apps, poking fun at your taste in music by analyzing your top tracks, favorite artists, and the top songs in your playlists.

Previously known as “How Bad Is Your Spotify,”  it’s an amusing website that uses AI to judge your taste in music based on your listening habits.

Bad taste is subjective, so whether you’re someone who hates singers that use autotune  or have another particular bugbear about what makes bad songs, you might dispute the results given.

Judge My Spotify puts together its data based on your top artists, songs, and your favorite genres featured in your frequently played music, displaying the results in satirical form.

If you’re concerned about sharing your Spotify data, Judge My Spotify doesn’t save any of your statistics, which gives users who want to maintain online privacy some peace of mind.

The web app also doesn’t use any real artificial intelligence, pulling the results from what it describes as a “faux pretentious music-loving AI.”

4. Receiptify

Receiptify - Best Spotify Stats Websites

Receiptify is a simple but fun top tracks generator that selects songs based on a specified period.

The charm of Receiptify is in its name; this generator takes your top songs from the last month, six months, or of all time and displays them in a classic receipt format.

The traditional receipt switches up the information, so the quantity represents the top tracks’ rank, the item displays the artist and song title, and the amount lists the song’s running time.

There’s not a great deal more to what Receiptify has to offer, but if you want to see your top songs laid out in the form of a grocery store receipt, it’s a fun gimmick worth playing with.

Users can also share their receipt online, taking it from the Receiptify website and posting it on their social media channels so that friends can see your latest listening habits.

Best of all, Receiptify is completely free, so you can have a little fun without having to sell any stocks in Spotify you might have in your investment portfolio.

5. MusicTaste.Space

Musictaste.Space - Best Spotify Stats Websites

MusicTaste.Space web app is a powerful Spotify stats tool that allows users to compare and share their listening habits with friends.

6. Discover Quickly

Discover Quickly - Best Spotify Stats Websites

Discover Quickly is one of the more practical Spotify stats sites geared towards users of the app who want to bring a great selection of new songs to the platform.

The website allows you to easily arrange your playlists, top artists, and top songs, filtering them through a range of handy criteria such as danceability and popularity.

There’s also the option to view Spotify’s exclusive genres, including acid house and deep metalcore, while clicking on any listed genre will produce a list of related music, helping you craft playlists such as the best happy songs and the best summer songs of all time.

Perhaps the best feature on Discover Quickly is the ability to hover over an album cover and trigger the best part of the song to start playing.

It’s a great way to browse for new music without having to wade through track after track until you decide if it’s suited to your tastes.

If you click on a particular genre, the website will put together a tailored playlist of tracks in the genre, making it a valuable tool for music fans looking to branch out into new and exciting artists and albums.

Since Spotify is one of the best free music hosting sites available, Discover Quickly helps users dig into their more obscure content with ease.

7. Zodiac Affinity

Zodiac Affinity - Best Spotify Stats Websites

Zodiac Affinity is a Spotify web data app that is somewhat limited in its functionality but still fun.

Astrology fans will be in heaven with this website since it matches up to five songs that line up with the user’s zodiac sign.

All you have to do is connect your Spotify account to their website, select your star sign from the drop-down menu, and the site does the rest, giving you five matching songs to enjoy.

There is some evidence that a person’s star sign influences their taste in music , with the various types of star signs affecting music taste in their own unique way.

Earth signs are apparently more likely to enjoy jazz and classical, while those who fall under an air sign are more in tune with electronic-based dance music.

You can find out exactly how true this is by trying Zodiac Affinity for yourself and seeing if the five songs it suggests align with your music taste.

Run BPM - Best Spotify Stats Websites

Run BPM positions itself as the most advanced playlist creation tool available for runners, using the beats per minute of tracks in your playlist to help keep your energy levels high.

Once you’ve logged onto the Run BPM site with your Spotify premium account, the system will filter through your library of music by tempo, matching the songs played to your pace.

It’s a great way to boost your overall fitness and have some fun while doing it, with some studies demonstrating a beneficial effect of music tempo on exercise performance .

To get Run BPM up and running (pardon the pun), you begin by importing one or more playlists, either from your own personal playlists or elsewhere.

Next, a selection of sliders allows you to tweak the BPM, energy, danceability, and other metrics, tailoring the results to suit your running pace.

Run BPM is ideal for Spotify users who like to listen to music on the go, and with good security measures in place, you can be sure your data will remain safe.

9. Sort Your Music

Sort Your Music - Best Spotify Stats Websites

Sort Your Music offers Spotify users a data analysis tool that does exactly what you’d expect from its name: sort your music.

While Spotify allows you to arrange your playlists based on basic information such as track title, duration and data added, Sort Your Music adds a whole new level of finesse to playlist categorization.

You can sort your music by the following additional values: BPM, energy, danceability, loudness, valence, length, acoustic, and pop.

Using SortYourMusic is simple: just log in with your Spotify credentials and choose the playlist you want to sort, using the column headings to select the value you desire.

The system is built around the Echo Nest song attributes system, an API designed for Spotify that operates as a developers’ music intelligence and data platform.

In addition to the features mentioned above, SortYourMusic has plans to expand its service to include duplicate track removal and manual reordering, addition, and deletion.

Spotify is already one of the best music apps without WiFi , and the features available through Sort Your Music make their platform even more versatile.

Skiley - Best Spotify Stats Websites

Skiley is perhaps the most comprehensive web app you can use to connect with your Spotify account to unlock a decent selection of new tools and features.

While some of the stats websites featured on this list have limited functionality, Skiley ups its game by introducing several excellent features which allow users to really dig into their songs and playlists.

You can order any playlist based on the album title, song name, artist name, or BPM, and there’s an option to shuffle as well.

There are also options to split the playlist or filtration of songs based on genre, with Skiley consolidating the information on your playlists and ordering them based on a range of factors.

It’s even possible to download data on a selected playlist, with the option to export to CSV, TXT, CFG, JSON, or XML.

You can also use Skiley to manage your playlists by mood, and it even helps you discover the lyrics to any songs you’re currently enjoying.

If you’re already using Spotify through one of the best Discord music bots , consider adding Skiley to the mix if you want to tweak the music you listen to even more.

10 ways to see your Spotify stats and view your most-played songs and artists

  • There are a variety of websites and apps that give you stats about your Spotify account.
  • "Instafest" is a popular app that links to Spotify to reveal your most-listened-to artists.
  • Sites like "How Bad is Your Spotify" take a more comedic approach to analyzing your stats.

Spotify has over 400 million users, according to the company's website . And together, those users listen to countless artists, songs, genres, and playlists each year.

If you've ever wanted to dive deeper into your listening habits — maybe to see which songs you listen to the most, or compare your tastes with others — there are dozens of websites you can use to check your Spotify stats. These sites range from serious to goofy, but they'll all help you see your music fandom in a new light.

Here are a few of our favorites from across the spectrum.

How to check your Spotify stats

There are many Spotify tools and third-party websites to give you insight into your most-played songs, artists, or genres.

Stats for Spotify

Stats for Spotify is probably the most basic "stats" site you're going to find. Log into your Spotify account and you can see your favorite artists, songs, and genres from the last month, six months, or all time.

Scroll to the bottom of your Top Tracks page, and you'll even find a Create playlist button you can use to instantly make a playlist with all the songs on that list.

Spotify Wrapped

You probably know about this one.

Every year, Spotify releases Spotify Wrapped , a slideshow that shows you who your favorite artists, songs, and genres were over the past year. You also get a count of how much time you spent listening to Spotify, and a playlist with your top 100 songs (plus one extra for just this year).

You don't need to connect anything to your Spotify account to find this. It'll pop up in your Spotify app automatically when it gets released, so you can watch the slideshow and share it with all of your friends.

Once some time passes, you won't be able to find the Wrapped slideshows anymore. But you can find your Wrapped playlists from years past by logging into the Spotify website and checking these links:

  • Wrapped 2021
  • Wrapped 2020
  • Wrapped 2019
  • Wrapped 2018
  • Wrapped 2017

Obscurify , like other sites, shows you your top tracks, artists, and genres. But it also gives you a rating of how "obscure" your tastes are compared to other users, along with a list of the artists and songs you listen to that no one else does.

Scroll down and you'll also find a "Moods" section that measures how happy, danceable, energetic, and acoustic your tastes are — along with how that compares to other users.

Receiptify is an app that checks what songs, artists, and genres you listen to the most and prints out a "receipt" with them listed in order. You can have it list your favorite songs from the past month, six months, or from all time.

It's a simple gimmick, but great for sharing quickly on social media.

Zodiac Affinity

Astrology isn't for everyone. But if you've got your sun, moon, and rising signs memorized, check out Zodiac Affinity .

Connect to Spotify and pick your zodiac sign (your sun sign) from the drop-down menu. The site will give you five recent songs you love that match well with your sign.

How Bad is Your Spotify

The "How Bad is Your Spotify" test went viral in 2020 for its AI's snarky attitude and scorching hot takes. The site reads your favorite artists and songs, asks you a few questions, and then mercilessly taunts you. Be warned, it can get vulgar.

No matter how obscure your tastes are, How Bad is Your Spotify will find a stereotype you fit into. Just don't take it too personally — it is a robot, after all. The site notes that it is a satirical project that doesn't actually use real artificial intelligence —just a faux pretentious music-loving AI.

"The code creates a custom blend of jokes from our database paired with the insights found in the artist, album, genre, and track data from your Spotify," the site reads.

Like the name suggests, Icebergify creates an iceberg inspired chart highlighting your most listened to artists on Spotify.

The tool uses popularity rankings from Spotify data (from streams, shares, saves, likes, followers, and other data) to create a full picture of your listening habits. Artists are organized by popularity, with the most mainstream at the top and more obscure artists at the bottom.

Spotify Pie

Developed by UCLA student Darren Huang, Spotify Pie invites users to "Bake your monthly genre pie." It creates a shareable pie chart based on the genres you listen to, plus a list of your top artists of the month.

Described as an "interface for music discovery," Discover Quickly is designed to help you discover your next favorite artist or song.

You can hover over songs to get a preview of what they sound like, click a song to get more information, receive recommendations for related artists and songs, and save songs to build a collection of songs you like.

Most recently, people have been using Instafest to share their ultimate festival lineups featuring their most-listened to artists. It was created by college student Anshay Saboo who said it had over 6.5 million users in five days .

Users of the app have the option to create posters that include their top artists from three different periods, ranging from the last four weeks of listening, to the last six months, or all-time.

It makes sense. After all, this data is incredibly useful to have at the ready for your marketing and advertising efforts and in determining your next steps. Your campaigns will do better if you get the targeting right.

Spotify Stats Tools For Artists

There are some great Spotify analytics tools for artists available, but the number is limited. In this section, we cover every single one we could find that could possibly be worth your time.

Later on, we will be looking at Spotify data sites and apps for listeners (also see the section titled “Spotify Data Tools For Listeners”).

Spotify For Artists

Spotify For Artists

These days, it’s possible to get your data directly from the source. Spotify For Artists lets you see how many listeners you have and how it’s been trending over time, how many times your music has been streamed, as well as how many followers you have.

Spotify For Artists also offers several useful tools under the categories of:

  • Audience engagement . This will tell you, on average, how many tracks of yours listeners stream, as well as how many save and add your music to playlists.
  • Source of streams . This feature tells you where your streams are coming from – your profile and catalog, listener’s own playlists and library, other listener’s playlists, Spotify editorial playlists, Spotify algorithmic playlists, and other.
  • Demographics . Who’s listening to your music, what’s their gender, and how old are they?
  • Location . Top countries where your music is getting listened to.
  • Similar artists . Although you can basically find this information inside the Spotify app, this section will show you who your listeners also listen to (great for figuring out who you’re going to set up your next collaboration with).

Spotify is continually improving Spotify For Artists, unlike some companies that like to hide audience and customer data behind walled gardens. This is easily one of the definitive tools for accessing your Spotify data, but the information you gain here is best combined with other sources with additional insights.

You may also be interested to know that many other major streaming platforms now have analytics platforms of their own – Amazon Music for Artists, Apple Music for Artists, YouTube for Artists, and Deezer for Creators.

Beatchain, a Spotify stats website

This is one of my personal favorites. All you’ve got to do to get started with Beatchain is connect your Spotify and social media accounts, and the platform will deliver fan insights you can use to grow your music career.

For instance, Beatchain will show you related artists, where your fans are located, potential playlists, and more. Plus, it can help you find opportunities, not just for Spotify and other streaming platforms, but also for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Twitch, and Bandsintown.

Combine the data, and you’re sure to come up with some fresh insights and tactics around them to get your music out there.

Beatchain’s artist insights, hyperlinks / pre-saves, and fan builder features are all free. The only thing that costs anything is their music distribution service .

If you haven’t given this platform a try yet, go and sign up now. You’ll be amazed at what Beatchain can do for you.

Spotify Analytics by Viberate

Spotify Analytics by Viberate

Viberate has long described itself as the IMDb of the music industry, and as their platform continues to grow, so do their offerings. If it has anything to with data, chances are, Viberate has got it, and sure enough, they’ve got Spotify Analytics by Viberate too.

Viberate has several plans depending on your needs. If you’re an artist, Lite is enough to get started, as it’s free forever. But there’s also a premium plan at €129 per month on their monthly plan, or €108 per month on their annual plan (billed annually).

The premium plan includes A&R tools and forecasting, in-depth artist and track analytics, TikTok and Instagram metrics, Spotify playlist data and insights, as well as audience demographics and geography.

An enterprise plan is available for larger companies too, though the pricing is hush-hush (get in touch with Viberate to discuss).

On the Lite plan, you only get access to an artist overview, but there are some interesting features like career health (with social media performance, music performance, and network respect), career performance (based on Viberate points, which seems to take cues from what’s been going on with your career on other platforms like Shazam or YouTube), total fan base distribution, fanbase evolution through time, fanbase growth, audience map, and more.

It’s too bad that Viberate doesn’t show more without payment (€129 is going to be a bit much for most artists), but it is another personal favorite of mine, with some great data you probably won’t find elsewhere.

Soundcharts

Soundcharts

Soundcharts has been built for use with teams in mind, but there is nothing stopping individuals from taking advantage of the platform.

As with some of the other tools mentioned in this guide, Soundcharts will pull data from Spotify, but from a variety of sources – Deezer, Facebook, Instagram, SoundCloud, Twitter, YouTube, Songkick, TikTok, Triller, Wikipedia, and Line Music.

Besides your total number of followers, Soundcharts will also supply you with playlist data (from Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube, and Amazon), radio airplay, similar artists, and more.

Overall, Soundcharts is a lot like Beatchain in terms of functionality and data points.

Chartmetric

Chartmetric

Chartmetric offers a seven-day trial, after which you can upgrade to a premium or artist plan. The premium plan costs $140 per month or $1,400 per year, while the artist plan costs $10 per month or $100 per month.

It’s good to know that most tools have a business model behind them. Some are like Chartmetric, that push you to upgrade, while others, like Beatchain, have a service they’re looking to push you towards (like music distribution).

Anyway, Chartmetric’s artist plan gives you access to full data for one artist, playlist data and insights, radio airplay, audience demographics and geography, current chart data, and mobile access.

With the premium plan, you also get unlimited access (as many artists as you want), A&R dashboard, team accounts, current and historical charts, reports, and brands dashboard.

Charmetric has a little more of a business-oriented feel than other sites, mostly due to their interface. Like Beatchain or Soundcharts, you can connect a variety of streaming and social media sites for access to additional data.

It has some unique features, like career stage (developing, mid-level, mainstream, superstar, legendary), career growth (decline, steady, growth, high growth, explosive growth), Chartmetric artist rankings, and more.

Of course, you’ve got your standard playlist count, milestones, other artists fans are listening to, and more. There’s a ton of great data to work with here.

artist.tools

artist.tools is an app to get yoru stats from Spotify

Now for something a little different.

Most artists know that to gain any traction on streaming platforms, they must get their music playlisted. The trouble is that the process can be a little mercurial and is often long-winded to boot.

artist.tools is a tool that allows you to search playlists by keyword, genre, artist, or even playlist URL or user URL. Of course, if that’s all it did, the tool would be unnecessary.

artist.tools lets you choose a specific market, specify the number of playlist followers (minimum and maximum), and contact requirements (the tool will show you whether the curator can be contacted via email, Instagram, or both).

If you have a good idea which playlists to target as an artist (e.g., genre and audience size), then this tool should help you cut down on hours of research and give you the ability to pitch to more curators in significantly less time.

SymphonicMS

SymphonicMS

Symphonic is one of many companies offering music distribution to independent artists (we’ll talk more generally about music distribution services a little later, because they can obviously be great places to mine for relevant data too).

To be able to leverage Symphonic’s streaming analytics tools, you would need to become a client of theirs.

But they don’t hesitate to talk up their SymphonicMS platform that collects relevant data from Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, and Pandora.

SymphonicMS gives you access to up-to-date streaming data from Spotify and Apple Music , with breakdowns by artist, track, release, territory, and partners. You also get access to daily iTunes and Beatport downloads, overall download trends, and other important Beatport stats (like subscribers and charting songs).

You can also access other basic data like playlist placements inside SymphonicMS. If you use Symphonic as your distributor, then you should certainly peek inside.

ForTunes

ForTunes is a free insights app created with music makers in mind. To get started with ForTunes, you’ll need to connect your various streaming and social channels (as many as you have – Spotify, Twitter, YouTube, SoundCloud, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok), but I’m happy to say, they’ve streamlined the process to make it easy on you.

Once you’ve connected your accounts, ForTunes will scan for your tracks and social media channels. This process can take a few minutes, so be patient. Find something else to do while you’re waiting.

From the dashboard, you can monitor your following based on platform, Spotify playlists and influencers, followers by country, tracks, YouTube uploads, as well as plays and spins.

There are some other helpful tools like recommendations, where you can view playlist recommendations, record labels, and similar artists.

The media radar could be of interest too. This is where ForTunes collects all the new media mentions you’ve received on your behalf.

Our impression is that the platform is still developing, but it shows a lot of promise, and besides, it’s free. Here’s hoping, though, that they keep improving on it!

Music Analytics

Music Analytics

iMusician’s Music Analytics lets you monitor your streaming trends from Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Napster, Amazon, and Pandora in near real time.

Music Analytics also provides you with audience data as well as revenue.

Music Analytics costs a nominal $2 per month. If you’re already using iMusician as your distributor, you’ll certainly want to check out their new analytics tool.

Your Music Distributor – CD Baby, TuneCore, DistroKid, Or Other

Your Music Distributor is more software for checking Spotify statistics

It could be CD Baby , TuneCore, DistroKid, Ditto Music, or something else. If you’re an artist who’s had their music digitally distributed in the past, you should be able to log in to your online portal and access relevant streaming data.

CD Baby, specifically, has two useful sections – sales & accounting, and trending & analytics.

Sales & accounting will show you the total sales you’ve accumulated for each of your releases, digital distribution sales, licensing and royalties, swiper sales, and recent transactions.

The main thing to pay attention to would be recent transactions, since you’ll be able to see exactly how many times your tracks have been streamed on Spotify.

This isn’t the most useful data, but at least you can see where all your income is coming from.

The trending & analytics section lets you view your streaming activity (on Spotify or Apple Music) within a date range (last seven days, last 30 days, last 60 days, last 90 days, and custom). There’s also an advanced filtering option if you want to filter by artist, album, or track.

CD Baby also lets you view top tracks, activity by location, unique listeners, devices, play sources, age, and top playlists.

Now, that’s a whole lot better than a “kick in the pants” as my dad would say!

Other well-established distributors will give you access to similar data, but depending on your distributor, the data available to you will vary. Some distributors may not provide much data at all. But it’s certainly a source worth checking if you have music distributed.

Spotify Data Tools For Listeners

We’ve covered off all the Spotify analytics tools for artists we could find. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a whole other category of sites and apps to analyze your Spotify data (usually in a very fun way), especially listener-oriented ones. That’s what we’re going to look at here.

Stats For Spotify – Get Yoru Statistics

Stats For Spotify

Stats For Spotify is a relatively basic offering. Simply log in with your Spotify account, and it will give you the ability to view your most listened to tracks, artists, and genres.

Most of this data probably won’t surprise you, especially if you mostly listen to the same albums and playlists repeatedly, but Stats For Spotify does give you the ability to create playlists based on the data, which is a handy and fun function.

One thing that surprised me about my listening habits was apparently how much nu metal I listened to (my #8 most listened to genre). That stat was kind of frightening.

How Bad Is Your Streaming Music?

How Bad Is Your Streaming Music?

Now here’s a fun analyzer. How Bad Is Your Streaming Music will use sophisticated A.I. algorithms to determine how bad of a taste in music you really have. The A.I. will even prompt you with questions like, “do you really listen to this tune?” as if it were judging you.

Care to know how the A.I. rated my tastes? It basically gave me the following:

  • Boring-campfire-“cool”-church-mid-nineties-flannel-shirt bad
  • Propecia-hair-metal bad
  • Women-of-a-certain-age-stan bad
  • First-in-line-for-the-Chromatica-Oreos bad
  • Artist-formerly-known-as bad
  • Adult-skateboarder bad

I had a good laugh about that (no, I’m not hurt at all…).

Icebergify

Icebergify will create your personal Spotify iceberg. What does that mean? Well, it will take the top 50 artists from your listening trends and organize them by how popular or obscure they are. Popular artists are a closer to the top, while more obscure artists can be found at the bottom.

I don’t listen to anything super mainstream, so there was nothing in the top two tiers (I think this is quite unusual). Most of the artists I listen to showed up below the iceberg.

So, if you ever wanted to know whether you primarily listen to mainstream or independent artists, this is a fun little entry.

Obscurify

Obscurify will take your data from Spotify and offer an overview of your top genres, obscurity rating, your most obscure artists and tracks, current top artists, your moods, by the decades, and even recommendations. That’s quite a lot all things considered!

My obscurity rating, by the way, was 99% compared to 170,736 other Canadian users. That’s super high!

Spotify Pie

Spotify Pie

Spotify Pie will analyze your Spotify listening habits and spit out a pie chart and word cloud. No, really. That’s about all it does. I’m not saying that’s bad; I’m just wishing there was a little more to it.

Zodiac Affinity

Zodiac Affinity

Ever wanted to know which songs you listen to resonate most with your zodiac sign? No? Well, you might change your mind after giving Zodiac Affinity a try.

Having connected your Spotify account and chosen your sign, Zodiac Affinity will tell you which of the songs you listen to most are well matched to your zodiac sign.

There’s no explanation as to why certain songs are supposedly resonating with you, though. That might be a nice addition.

Discover Quickly

Discover Quickly

Discover Quickly is a fun tool for finding new music you might enjoy. All you’ve got to do is hover over the album artwork to hear the music, and you can move quickly from one release to another or click on the albums that interest you to do a deeper dive.

You can also view your playlists, top tracks, top artists, saved tracks, saved albums, and followed artists, but that’s not nearly as interesting.

For the adventurous, there’s always the random artist and random genre features.

Best Spotify Stats Websites & Apps, Final Thoughts

Now you’ve got a ton of fun tools to play with. If you’re an artist, I hope you find plenty of valuable insights that help you take your music career beyond. If you’re a listener, then I hope you had some good laughs learning more about your listening habits and musical tastes.

Data is the new horizon in the music industry, and we’re sure to see plenty of new developments in this field in the years to follow – whether it’s investors, startups, platforms, or otherwise. It will be an exciting one to watch.

P.S. Remember though, none of what you've learned will matter if you don't know how to get your music out there and earn from it. Want to learn how to do that? Then get our free ‘5 Steps To Profitable Youtube Music Career' ebook emailed directly to you!

Unravel the mystery of your Spotify listening habits with these top 12 free third-party apps!

Since Spotify has become a part of our daily lives, knowing how much your listening habits have changed over time isn’t just fascinating. It can also help you discover more about who you are.

But finding in-depth statistics can be difficult. Even though Spotify automatically compiles your top tracks and artists every month, it doesn’t provide any statistics beyond that.

Luckily, some third-party apps can provide a more in-depth and interesting analysis of your Spotify stats. Read on as we discuss the top 12 third-party apps and how to use them in this guide.

1. Stats for Spotify

2. obscurify, 4. stats.fm, 6. zodiac affinity, 7. the pudding, 8. musicscape, 9. musictaste.space, 10. instafest, 11. nprcore, 12. in-app spotify stats.

Last four weeks' top tracks on Stats for Spotify.

Stats for Spotify is a free third-party app that can give you an in-depth history of your listening habits over the last four weeks, six months, and all time. This is a simple and to-the-point app where you can find statistics on your:

  • Top artists
  • Recently played tracks

Using the app is fairly simple. All you need to do is visit Stats for Spotify > log in with Spotify > click Agree > start exploring your statistics.

Once logged in, you can start browsing your Spotify statistics based on the categories mentioned above. You can also create a playlist from the “top tracks” list that opens directly on Spotify.

Sadly, it doesn’t recommend new songs for you.

Sample of the Top Genres analysis on Obscurify.

If you’re curious about how unique or obscure your Spotify listening habit is, then Obscurify is the app for you. It’s a free web-based app that measures how obscure your music taste is compared to other users.

On this app, you can find out some interesting statistics about your listening habits, including:

  • Top 10 genres
  • Obscurity percentage
  • Top 10 most obscure artists
  • Top artists and tracks
  • Spotify moods
  • Favorite music by the decades

The obscurity percentage is a score that compares how ‘rare’ your Spotify listening habit is compared to other users in your region.

At the bottom, you’ll also get a list of indie and obscure songs that you can turn into a playlist on Spotify. Additionally, you can also share your Obscurify result with friends through a unique link.

Using the app is quite simple; you just need to head over to Obscurify Music > Log in > fill in your Spotify account detail > click on Agree . Want some more obscure songs to add to your Library? Check out the 5 longest songs on Spotify in our article.

Sample of last month's listening stats on Chosic.

Chosic is an online music discovery app that offers a suite of tools to expand your music horizons, including statistics for your Spotify profile and playlists. In the statistics section, you can find information on your:

  • Favorite genres
  • Obscurity score
  • Favorite decades
  • Top artist and track

At the bottom of the statistics page, you’ll find a list of songs it thinks you’ll love based on your listening habits. You can also save the top tracks that Chosic generates as a playlist on Spotify.

You can also use other tools like playlist generators, similar music finders, etc. But you need a separate Chosic account to do so.

Sample of last four weeks' Top genres, tracks and artist on Stats.fm.

Stats.fm is a statistics tracker app for Spotify that offers a comprehensive breakdown of your listening habits. It sorts your favorite tracks, artists, and albums using minutes streamed, number of streams, and machine learning. The statistics you can get from Stats.fm include:

  • Most streamed songs, artists, and albums
  • Recent streams
  • Track moods

Like other apps, you can track all of the data above from the last month, the last six weeks, and all time.

You get the basic stats above for free, but there’s a $5 one-time premium option. The premium tier unlocks advanced stats such as stream counts, time streamed, and the number of tracks and albums you’ve listened to.

Stats.fm is also available on Android or iOS devices. In the mobile app, you get a ‘ Find your soulmates ‘ feature where you can connect and chat with other users with similar music tastes.

Sample of the Top Genres and Artist list on Volt.fm.

Volt.fm is a web-based app that can showcase your Spotify listening habits with others via a public profile page. On this page, you can share what you’re listening to on Spotify and showcase a Play Favorites button that lets others listen to your favorite tracks.

Additionally, you and other visitors can see several statistics, including your:

  • Top genres, artists, songs, and albums
  • Listening habit analysis by mood, obscurity, release date, and length

To use Volt.fm, simply log in using your Spotify account. If you have Spotify Premium, you can directly plan songs on Volt.fm.

Since it’s designed as a public showcase for your Spotify, you can also visit others’ pages and compare your statistics. But if you don’t want your listening habit available publicly, you can also set it to private.

A $2/month or $ 48-lifetime Pro plan lets you customize your profile and add a clickable link to your bio.

Sample of favorite tracks based on zodiac signs.

If you’re into astrology or are just looking for a different way to look at your music, try Zodiac Affinity . It’s a free web-based app that lets you filter out your favorite tracks based on the 12 zodiac signs.

To use Zodiac Affinity, all you need to do is go to their website and log in with your Spotify account. Once you’re in, you’ll select your zodiac sign, and the app will show you five of your favorite songs that align with the sign you picked.

The Pudding judging the kind of music you're listening to.

If you’re in the mood for some cheeky roasting about your Spotify listening habit, you should try Judge My Music by The Pudding. It looks through your library, judges it with some sass, and then provides some stats on:

  • Songs you listen to
  • Artists you stan to an uncomfortable extent
  • The ‘basic’ percentage of your library
  • Your favorite decade

Though the phrases seem very cheeky, The Pudding cannot exactly judge your music taste. It’s a satirical project that uses code to mix jokes in a database with some insights found about the artists, tracks, and genres on your Spotify.

To use this app, go to the Judge My Music page, then click on Find Out. You can choose to log in with Spotify or Apple Music. Once logged in, it will ask questions about your music taste before giving its ‘thoughts.’

MusicScape's custom image based on your listening habits.

MusicScape is a fun way to visualize your Spotify listening habits and mood with various colors and shapes.

Here are some information you can get from the visualization:

  • Background color to show the mood of your playlist.
  • A sun/moon depending on what time it is now in your region.
  • Jaggy/smooth mountains depending on the beats of your music.

The number of mountains also appear differently depending on how active you’ve been in the last 24 hours. They also change shades based on the most dominant musical key in your favorite songs.

To use the app, simply head over to MusicScape and log in with your Spotify account. It will immediately show a visualization of your Spotify.

MusicTaste.Space showing your own music taste.

MusicTaste.Space is an interesting app that lets you get Spotify stats, compare your habit with others, and create a playlist based on your current library. On the stats page, you can find information on the following:

  • Top tracks and artists
  • Lockdown playlists
  • Moods of the songs you listened to
  • Obscurify score

You can also share your MusicTaste profile with others through a link. When someone visits that link, they’ll be prompted to log in with Spotify and compare their music taste to yours.

To start using the app, go to Musictaste.space and click Sign In With Spotify . After fetching your listening history, head to My Insights to find your Spotify stats.

Instafest showing festival-lineup-style poster of your listening habit.

If you want a festival-lineup-style poster of your listening habits, Instafest got you covered. It compiles all of your favorite artists and presents them on a Coachella-style lineup poster.

Unfortunately, that’s about all you get from Instafest. You don’t get any statistics on your listening habits except for the 0-100 ‘basic score’ .

It shows how niche your ‘festival’ is—the lower the score, the more niche it is. But you can choose to hide it from your poster.

All you need to do to use Instafest is head over to their website and log in with Spotify, Last.fm, or Apple Music.

NPRCore compares your Spotify listening habit against National Public Radio's top 50 albums.

NPRCore is another free web app that compares your Spotify listening habits against National Public Radio’s top 50 albums .

It doesn’t offer any statistics other than how many of your favorite artists, tracks, and albums are in line with NPR’s version of ‘good music’. On the analysis page, you’ll find information on your:

  • NPRcore percentage
  • Top 3 NPcore songs
  • Top 3 NPRcore artists

Using the NPRcore app is relatively straightforward. You just need to visit their website and click Log in with Spotify. It will direct you to the NPRcore score page, as shown above. You can also download the result as an image to share with others.

List of the month's favorite artist and songs on Spotify.

Though Spotify has in-app stats available for you, they’re limited to your monthly favorite songs and artists.

Aside from your monthly stats, Spotify also provides in-depth statistics on your listening habits, branded as Spotify Wrapped .

Spotify Wrapped is an annual round-up of your activities on Spotify, including the total number of songs played, artists of the year, etc. But it usually has a unique feature every year.

Unfortunately, the complete Spotify Wrapped stats only appear around November – January . But you can still access your old Spotify Wrapped playlists. All you need to do is log in to the Spotify web app , then click any of these links.

  • 2022 Wrapped
  • 2021 Wrapped
  • 2020 Wrapped
  • 2019 Wrapped
  • 2018 Wrapped
  • 2017 Wrapped

Although Spotify doesn’t always give a complete picture of our listening practices, it is still a significant marker of who we are as individuals, depending on our tastes in music. A personal exercise where many of the methods mentioned in this article can help.

Hopefully, you’ll now be able to find out precisely what your Spotify listening habits say about you. Soon, you’ll be on your way to discovering your most played songs and artists on Spotify, finding new songs you’ll love, and other trivia around it to see how unique your taste in music is.
