  • How to Activate Free Business Calling Circle minutes? Once your Business Control plan is active, your free business Calling Circle minutes will be automatically activated. You will get a confirmation SMS informing you about the same. Business Calling Circle minutes are only applicable between company lines that are activated under the same account and are only applicable among company employees having du mobile lines.
  • How to Activate the Free Internet Calling Pack (ICP)? Once your Business Control plan is active with a combined value of AED 80 or more, the unlimited Internet Calling Pack will be automatically activated. You will get a confirmation SMS informing you about the same. You need to download one of the following VOIP applications, BOTIM, C’ME, Voico or HIU Messenger to start using Free Internet Calling.
  • Who is eligible for Business Control Plan? The plans are exclusively available to du Enterprise customers.
  • Trade license copy
  • Establishment card copy
  • Passport Copy or Emirates ID of the person on the trade license
  • Authorisation letter
  • NOC letter from the person on the trade license, or
  • NOC letter from the company
  • The Cash balance credit shall remain. (Does not apply to migrations from consumers)
  • Promotional Cash balances (Promotional Cash, More Credit, etc.) shall all be forfeited.
  • Any recurrent bundles shall be discontinued except for ICP.
  • Can I migrate my existing Postpaid line to the Business Control plan? Yes, migration from Postpaid can be made at any point. Postpaid foreclosure fees shall apply.
  • Are there any activation fees or deposits for the Business Control plan? There is a one-time SIM activation charge on new business lines which is a standard fee of AED 55 per line.
  • Do I have to buy both data and minutes to keep the plan active? With the Business Control plan, you should select your data and minutes to activate the plan and its services. The plan you have selected will be valid for 28 days and will renew automatically as long as you have a sufficient credit balance. In case you do not have the required balance, you would need to recharge your line within the next 28 days to renew your plan and keep enjoying your services. In case you still have not renewed your plan after this period, your outgoing services will stop working.
  • Can I modify my plan and change my bundles? You can modify their bundles freely without any downgrade charge. You can modify your plan across all channels including digitally, through the du App.
  • What if I don't recharge my line after activating my plan? If you do not recharge your line, you can only receive incoming calls and messages.
  • Can I deactivate my plan after I subscribe to it? Deactivation of the plan would immediately lead to the loss of any benefits you have paid for. You can deactivate your line without any penalties. There are no charges for deactivating the plan. Alternatively, there is no need to cancel your plan. Once your credit runs out, you can stop recharging it. You can reactivate your line at any time by recharging and renewing your plan.
  • How can I deactivate my plan? You can deactivate your plan through these channels (du Stores, franchise shops and Account Managers).

T-Mobile to acquire most of U.S. Cellular in $4.4 billion deal

Shares of  U.S. Cellular  popped nearly 6% Tuesday after  T-Mobile   announced  that it plans to acquire most of the company, including the wireless operator’s stores, some of its spectrum assets and its customers in a deal worth $4.4 billion.

The deal includes cash and up to $2 billion of debt, according to a press release from T-Mobile. Up to $100 million of the deal’s cash portion depends on certain financial and operating metrics being met between its signing and closing, according to a separate  press release  from U.S. Cellular.

Shares of T-Mobile were up more than 1% during Tuesday’s session.

T-Mobile  will acquire about 30%  of U.S. Cellular’s wireless spectrum as part of the deal, according to the U.S. Cellular release. It plans to use that to improve coverage in rural areas while offering better connectivity to U.S. Cellular customers around the United States, the two companies announced. The company said it will allow U.S. Cellular customers to keep their current plans or switch to a T-Mobile plan.

Both companies said that U.S. Cellular will retain 70% of its wireless spectrum and towers and will lease space on at least 2,100 additional towers to T-Mobile. The deal will also allow T-Mobile to sign new long-term leases on at least 2,015 U.S. Cellular-owned towers and extend existing leases on about 600 others, U.S. Cellular said in its release.

This will give U.S. Cellular customers a “strong anchor tenant” for at least 15 years after the deal’s close, the company said.

The news follows T-Mobile’s $1.35 billion acquisition of Ka’ena, the parent company of Mint Mobile. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission  approved that deal  in April.  T-Mobile merged with Sprint  in 2020 in a deal worth $26 billion.

The Wall Street Journal  reported earlier in May that T-Mobile and  Verizon  were in talks to “carve up” U.S. Cellular’s wireless spectrum but said a deal with Verizon on a separate transaction could take longer or fall through.

The companies expect the deal to close in mid-2025.
