Wix's Pricing Plans at a Glance

Getting to know wix's pricing plans.

Wix has a range of pricing plans tailored to various website needs, all the way from free to premium plans packed with advanced features. Here's a breakdown of each.

Wix's Free Plan

Wix's free version is your cost-free gateway to the world of website building. With a secure SSL certificate included, you can ensure your visitors' data is protected, albeit on a basic level. The provision of some customer support, despite being fundamental, is beneficial if you're just starting out.

However, for more serious or business-oriented websites, I'd recommend more robust options provided by Wix's paid plans to expand and maintain a professional online presence.

  • Free entry into web creation
  • Basic security and SSL certificate
  • Beginner-friendly
  • No custom domain
  • Very limited features
  • Wix ads appear on your site

Wix's Connect Domain Plan

Price: $4.50/month

Wix's Connect Domain plan is the most basic paid tier, offering a step up from the free version for those ready to establish a stronger online presence. In my opinion, this plan is ideal if you want a more professional-looking site without diving into all the bells and whistles.

With this plan, you get access to a custom domain . It also includes 1GB of bandwidth and 500MB of storage, which can accommodate small websites with modest traffic. Basic customer support is accessible, but like with the free plan, priority support is not included.

  • Affordable custom domain connection
  • 24/7 customer support
  • Limited bandwidth and storage
  • Lacks advanced features

Wix's Combo Plan

Price: $8.50/month

I use the Combo plan from Wix for my personal projects and find it strikes the right balance between affordability and essential features. With 3GB of storage and 2GB of bandwidth, it's perfect if you need more resources than the most basic plan delivers but don't require the extensive features of higher-tier plans.

This plan is a practical step up if you're looking to enhance your website's functionality and professional appeal—ideal for personal blogs or small businesses aiming to make a bit more noise online.

  • Free domain for one year
  • Google Ads budget
  • 30 minutes of video
  • Cannot accommodate high traffic
  • Lacks advanced features and customer support of more premium plans

Wix's Unlimited Plan

Price: $12.50/month

Wix's Unlimited plan is my favorite choice for entrepreneurs and freelancers. It offers unlimited bandwidth—a significant plus for growing websites expecting increasing traffic.

The plan also includes 10GB of storage, which should suffice for various multimedia content without too much concern about running out of space. Plus, including the Site Booster app and Visitor Analytics app for one year can be a substantial benefit for SEO and understanding website traffic patterns.

  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • 10GB of storage
  • Valuable add-ons like Site Booster and Visitor Analytics
  • More expensive than basic plans
  • Content-heavy sites may require even more space

Wix's VIP Plan

Price: $24.50/month

Wix's VIP plan is the best option if you're seeking first-priority support and a full suite of features. It provides substantial storage space at 35GB, catering to content-rich sites. It also includes unlimited bandwidth, which means your website can handle high traffic volumes without any hitches.

I like the added perks, such as the Professional Logo and Social Media Logo files, which bring value for branding, and the Google Ads voucher, which can give marketing efforts a head start.

  • Lots of storage
  • Priority customer support
  • Abandoned cart recovery feature
  • Not beginner-friendly

Wix's Business Basic Plan

Price: $17/month

Wix's Business Basic plan is the entry-level option for small businesses, offering a cost-effective solution for eCommerce sites.

The plan offers unlimited bandwidth, which means it can accommodate an increasing number of visitors and growing website activity without the risk of hitting data limits. It provides 20GB of storage, which is plenty for a variety of small business needs, and five hours of video—enough to get started with multimedia content.

  • Sufficient storage for small business operations
  • Allows online payments and social media sales
  • Video hours may not be enough for content-heavy strategies
  • Lacks advanced eCommerce features

Wix's Business Unlimited Plan

Price: $25/month

Tagged as their most popular business plan, Wix's Business Unlimited plan is tailored for growing businesses looking to scale their online operations. It offers unlimited bandwidth, 35GB of storage, and 10 hours of video content, which I think is especially useful for businesses leveraging multimedia for engagement.

The plan also includes applications for boosting site traffic and analyzing visitor behavior—which is crucial for online growth strategies .

  • eCommerce features like subscriptions and multiple currencies
  • Tools for traffic generation and visitor analytics
  • Lacks support of higher-tier business plans
  • No access to dropshipping or product reviews

Wix's Business VIP Plan

Price: $35/month

I like Wix's Business VIP plan as a top-tier option for businesses that need a full suite of services. It provides extensive resources with 50GB of storage and unlimited video hours, making it well-suited for content-heavy sites.

Additionally, it includes robust eCommerce features like the ability to offer subscriptions and sell on social media and online marketplaces in multiple currencies.

  • Advanced eCommerce features
  • Priority customer service
  • Access to a loyalty program by Smile.io
  • Steep learning curve for beginners

Wix's Enterprise Plan

Price: Custom

Wix's Enterprise plan is a custom, scalable solution designed to meet large-scale businesses' complex and varied needs. It provides features like a dedicated account manager, multi-site dashboards for streamlined management, and tailored solutions to match your specific business requirements.

If your organization is looking for an all-encompassing web platform that can deliver fast content deployment, customization, and integration, all supported by enterprise-grade security, this high-end offering is designed with your needs in mind.

  • Comprehensive tools for migration, fulfillment, and scalable billing solutions
  • Built to support high-traffic sites with high reliability and uptime
  • Personalized services and support
  • For large businesses only
  • Unclear pricing structure

Navigating Wix's Diverse Plans: Your Perfect Fit Unveiled

In the rapidly expanding world of website builders, which is projected to reach a market size of $3.8 billion by 2030 , Wix's plans offer a diverse range of functionalities. To pick the best fit, you must understand your site's needs and envision its growth.

For the budding blogger or ambitious brand, lower-tier plans like the Combo and Unlimited plans may suffice. But if you're going for content-rich pages or a sleek online store, opt for higher-tier plans like the Business Basic or Business Unlimited plans.

If you're still unsure about which plan is best, try any Wix premium plan for free, and if you decide it's not for you, you can cancel within 14 days and receive a full refund.

Wix Pricing

wix basic business plan

How Much Does Wix Cost?

The monthly price ranges from $13-$39 (billed annually). The Combo plan is ad-free and includes a domain for 1 year, making it the most affordable and most popular plan. Wix has garnered quite the reputation as one of the best website building applications currently available on the internet. Its features and easy to use drag and drop designs and styles are the application’s main selling point; which is alone enough to gather over 100 million users across 190 countries.

Regardless of all of the amazing features that Wix has, their service would essentially be useless to their target market if their prices were unreasonable. Luckily their prices are not just reasonable, but also perfect for their target market. So, instead of looking at their core selling points, lets instead look the most underrated advantage they have over the market, wix’s price.

Basic Pricing Plans

Wix pricing can be divided into four major categories, as the other four of the total eight are just slight variations of the original four. These major pricing plans include the free package, Combo package, Unlimited package, and the business package. Each of these pricing plans has advantages and features specific to themselves. Refer to our wix pricing tables in the image above for a quick glance.

Wix Pricing: How Much Will You Pay?

Besides the free subscription, Wix offers four Website plans and four Business & eCommerce plans. Combo package suits personal use and costs $13/month. Unlimited is the most popular package, suitable for entrepreneurs, and costs $17/month. Pro package adds a few features coming to $22 /month. The VIP package is the last with a monthly cost of $39. The four business plans include Business Basic for $23/month, Business Unlimited for $27/month, Business VIP for $49/month, and Enterprise for $500 /month.

The free version obviously has the least content in it but is mainly there to show off some of the main features of the Wix app to people who are still unsure of what the application itself is capable of. Although it is very possible for you to continue to use Wix for free and take advantage of many of the designs and styles that Wix has available, you don’t get access to other key features.

Combo Plan – ($13/month)

The Combo plan is the entry-level package that gives you a slew of advantages and benefits that can greatly help you with your website. The first major benefit that the Combo version brings is that you finally get your private domain free for the first year. After the initial first year, you will have to pay a fee of $15 every year to keep your private domain.

Unlimited Plan – ($17/month)

The Unlimited plan is the mid-tier choice for people looking for the best balance of features and price. The first and quite a sizeable improvement that this version provides to the customer is the increase in bandwidth. From the 2GB of the Combo version to the unlimited bandwidth of the Unlimited Version, the Unlimited version is already a much better choice than the combo version.

Pro Plan – ($22/month)

Vip plan – ($39/month).

See Current Wix Offers

Business Packages

Now, these business packages are for entrepreneurs that are looking to make transactions on their website. Business packages can be a little pricey, especially with the Wix website cost and Wix pricing, so it is best to first establish your company and then buy any of these packages. The packages are divided into three different categories, business basic, business unlimited, and business VIP, with Wix prices for each package increasing from basic to VIP.

Business Basic Plan – ($23/month)

Business unlimited plan – ($27/month), business vip plan – ($49/month), enterprise plan– ($500/month).

Wix has a wide array of pricing plans available that live up to its ideology of, “Wix: anyone can make a website with Wix.” It is amazing that this website builder has multiple packages that suit websites for personal use and small businesses. Wix’s pricing plan along with its customization and ease of use make it a great contender for building a website for any creator or entrepreneur. Interested in reading more about Wix? Our Methodology

We used our research methodology to analyze Wix’s pricing and recent plan changes, allowing us to determine whether Wix is good value for money.

Written and researched by:

Wix is our top-rated website builder in our research, meaning we’ve put it to the test and found it to be the best website builder overall! But how much does it cost? More importantly, is it good value for money?

Wix offers four premium plans, which give users a range of options to choose from depending on their needs, from online selling to enterprise businesses. The prices range from $16 per month (for the Light plan) to $159 per month (for the Business Elite plan) when billed annually. There is also the custom-priced Enterprise plan . Wix stands out in our research because it offers the best range of features available, like an easy-to-use editor, contact forms, and a professional blogging platform. This makes it ideal for personal websites and projects.

You can get 10% off all Wix’s plans using the code “ TAKE10 ” at the checkout. There’s also a free plan you can use indefinitely – but there are a few limitations.

Wix Pricing Plans

  • Free plan: – $0 per month – For those who want to try Wix
  • Light plan: – $16 per month – For portfolios and personal sites
  • Core plan: – $27/month – For small online stores and growing businesses
  • Business: – $32/month – For established businesses
  • Business Elite: – $159/month – For large businesses with advanced needs
  • Enterprise: – Custom pricing – For global brands and industry titans

How Much Does Wix Cost?

Four Wix website builder price plans

Across its four premium plans, Wix costs between $16 per month (billed annually) and $159 per month (billed annually). The cheapest plan, the Light plan , is great for those seeking a personal website or a professional portfolio.

If you want Wix ecommerce features, you’ll have to skip the Light plan and move to either the Core, Business, or Business Elite plans . With these plans, you’ll be able to sell up to 50,000 products and you’ll get access to shipping capabilities and advanced analytics.

The Enterprise plan is only for large business franchises and requires a call with the Wix sales team, as the price will be custom to what you want to achieve. However, thanks to our long-standing research in the industry, we can make a conservative estimate of around $5,000-$25,000 per year (billed annually).

What’s the difference between paying monthly and annually?

For example, Wix lists the Light plan as $16 per month when billed annually, meaning you’ll be paying for 12 months of use in advance. At checkout, you’ll have to pay $192.

Paying monthly means the subscription gets paid each month, much like Netflix or Spotify. Wix entices its users to pay annually by offering a reduced monthly fee. By paying annually, users can save $84 per year for the Light and Core plans than if they paid monthly.

Whichever payment option you choose will depend on your financial situation. If you don’t have the money for the annual payment immediately or don’t see yourself having the website live for over a year, then the monthly plan is a better option. However, we recommend the annual prices as we believe they are a better representation of the value for money of the builder.

Is The Free Plan Really Free?

Yes! There is zero cost involved with building and publishing a website on Wix . Simply go to Wix, put in your email address and you can start building and editing your website with Wix’s fantastic features for $0 (without any credit card details)! Better yet, there’s no time limit, meaning that the Wix website is now yours forever — for free.

However, Wix’s free plan only comes with 500MB of storage, which is barely enough if you plan to upload videos or high-quality images directly to your site. Other limitations can only be solved by upgrading, such as:

  • You can’t use your own domain name
  • You’ll have Wix ads displayed on your site
  • You can’t sell online
  • You only get limited features – for example, you’ll have no access to Google Analytics which means you won’t be able to track your website’s performance with this tool
  • You receive basic customer support – priority support is only available on premium plans so you might be left stranded if you need a helping hand

Wix ad displayed on demo Wix website for Lucy's Cupcakes

So, do we recommend Wix’s free plan? Well, sort of – the free plan is really only suitable for playing around with and testing. The Wix domain and banner ads give any site an unprofessional look and feel. If you’re serious about your site, then picking a paid plan is a much smarter choice. It is worth highlighting that you can always build your site on the free plan and then upgrade.

Is There a Free Trial?

As an alternative to Wix’s free plan, you can opt for a 14-day free trial of one of Wix’s premium plans. This is much better suited for those who may want access to Wix’s premium features, like ecommerce tools or increased storage – plus, there are no ads or other limitations (you still won’t be able to accept payments until you are on a paid-for plan).

The free trial will require you to enter payment details to kick things off.

Are There Any Discounts?

Wix is currently offering 10% off all its pricing plans if you use code TAKE10 at checkout. This deal is a great way to get full access to Wix at a cheaper price than usual.

Take a look at the table below and see how much you could save when using the discount.

Additionally, Wix for Students offers 50% off its plans if you go to Wix or the StudentBeans website. This is a fantastic deal to get the best website-building experience for an affordable price. You’ll need to have a recognized student I.D. to apply.

Is Wix Good Value for Money?

It depends . In our overall website builder ranking, Wix scores 3.7 out of 5 for value for money, coming in at a joint 4th place. While its plans can be expensive, there are very few builders that will offer a free plan with no time limit and an amazing depth of creativity and features.

Also, these features get rolled out with such high quality and at such a fast pace that other builders can barely keep up. In just a year, Wix SEO secured integrations with Google Analytics, Semrush, and Microsoft Clarity, becoming an absolute powerhouse.

But as we mentioned, the Wix free plan comes with a lot of limitations that almost force users to upgrade eventually. The Light plan is Wix’s cheapest, starting at $16 per month, but that plan comes with zero ecommerce capabilities, limited access to Wix features (no site analytics, site chat, or calendar app), and only 2GB of storage. For the best value for money, we recommend users start with the Core plan at $27 per month, which gives you access to a fuller range of essential website-building features, like ecommerce, events booking, and analytics.

How Does Wix Compare to Other Competitors?

a graph of blue and pruple

As you can see from the graph, Wix is an outlier among other website builders due to its cheapest plan not being its best value for money. Comparing Wix vs Squarespace’s cheapest plan, the Personal plan also begins at $16 per month. Feature-wise, it is almost on par with Wix’s Core plan ($27 per month).

The Light plan is just a slightly upgraded version of Wix’s free plan. For $16 per month, that is quite a dent in a budget, especially when considering the starting price of GoDaddy ($10.99 per month) and Hostinger ($2.99 per month).

However, the Core plan is everything you’d want and more from Wix, coming with all the features, integrations, and ecommerce capabilities. If you want to start an online business or professional website, then the Core plan will deliver on its price tag – the price is a little higher than other competitors, but our research shows that the value it brings more than compensates for it.

Light Plan: $16 per Month – For Portfolios and Personal Sites

  • Monthly price: $23 per month
  • Annual price: $16 per month

✔️ 2GB of storage

✔️ Free domain for 1 year

✔️ Removes ads from the site

❌ Limited amount of features

❌ No ecommerce capabilities (you can’t sell online)

❌ No access to website analytics, making it harder to track your site’s performance and engage with your audience

The Light plan is Wix’s cheapest plan. Besides the removal of ads, we found there’s not much difference between it and the free plan. The plan lacks many of the great features Wix is known for, like:

  • No ticket or event management
  • No restaurant management
  • No hotel management
  • No ecommerce

For $16 per month, you get the removal of ads, a free custom domain (for a year), and some basic marketing features. A disappointing amount for any potential new businesses, but ideal for small and informational websites like blogs, portfolios, and resumes.

With no ads and your own domain, your site gains some legitimacy. The Light plan gives you access to automated emails and lead-generation forms, making it good for simple promotion.

Three Wix template results in the template library for

This is all on top of the amazing Wix templates and editor you get to build your site in. Wix gains our highest score for templates in our research, with 4.3 out of 5. So even with limited features, your site will still look stunning.

Core Plan: $27 per Month – For Small Online Stores and Growing Businesses

  • Monthly price: $34 per month
  • Annual price: $27 per month

✔️ 50GB of storage

✔️ Access to a range of features, including ticketing and WixFit

✔️ Unlock ecommerce features, including abandoned cart recovery, discounts, and selling via socials

❌ Limited sales tools – can’t add multiple currencies or product reviews

The Core plan is Wix’s best value-for-money plan and our recommended starting point for anyone choosing Wix as a website builder. It includes ecommerce features – finally letting you sell on the platform – and it also comes with a host of specialist features for certain industries.

We can’t list them ALL here, but a few these are are our choice favorites:

  • 5 collaborators
  • Basic site analytics to monitor traffic and performance
  • Basic ecommerce tools – sell up to 50,000 products, Wix Payments , and sell on marketplaces/social channels
  • Wix dropshipping – up to 25 products by Modalyst
  • No transaction fees
  • Wix Hotel , Restaurant, and Fit platforms for each respective industry
  • Wix Bookings and Event management for scheduling and organizing appointments and in-person events
  • Stream music and videos and sell your original artwork

On top of this, you will get everything from the Light plan, plus explore even more features in the easy-to-use editor.

With all these features, the Core plan is perfect for those starting an online business or taking an existing business online. There is no app store required or extra fees incurred for specific industry tools and features (unlike Shopify or Squarespace). Plus, Wix has over 900 templates that will make sure you have a handy framework when designing it as they cover more industries than you can imagine !

While the Core plan’s features certainly impress, many of them are still offered in a ‘basic’ form – most evidently, the ecommerce tools. Important features like product reviews, accepting multiple currencies, and advanced shipping options are only available on the Business plan.

The Core plan is a decent choice if your website is in the early stages of growth, but once sales pick up it may be time to upgrade once again.

Business Plan: $32 per Month – For Established Businesses

  • Monthly price: $38 per month
  • Annual price: $32 per month

✔️ 100GB of storage

✔️ Unlock advanced shipping and product reviews for your store

✔️ Add multiple currencies and calculate sales tax automatically

❌ No access to premium customer service

❌ Stuck with the same basic analytics as the cheaper Wix plans

Once your store is getting steady sales, advanced tools are needed to keep up with demand. Enter the Business plan, the first of three ecommerce-dedicated plans by Wix.

You get all the aforementioned features that come with the Core plan, plus some brand new features designed primarily for selling online, such as:

  • Automated sales tax on 100 transactions per month
  • 1,000 product reviews provided by KudoBuzz
  • Unlimited ‘Back in Stock’ notifications
  • Advanced shipping plus 250 products available for dropshipping by Modalyst
  • Multiple currencies

These features are surely welcome for any online business wanting to scale up. In our research, Wix came joint second for sales features with 4.2 out of 5 . We found that the Business plan is considerably cheaper when compared with the nearest competition. It costs only $32 per month for Wix’s plan vs Shopify’s $79 per month for a similar plan .

A lot of the features introduced on the Core plan have been upgraded too, giving you 10 collaborators and the ability to assign roles, plus access to external databases. This makes it easier than ever to manage employees. However, not every feature has received this treatment, and even on the Business plan, you’ll still receive the same basic analytics and Wix customer service as those on the Light plan .

Business Elite Plan: $159 per Month – For Large Businesses with Advanced Needs

  • Monthly price: $172 per month
  • Annual price: $159 per month

✔️ Unlimited storage space for larger businesses

✔️ Advanced marketing and ecommerce tools like a loyalty program

✔️ Priority customer support

❌ Very expensive plan

❌ Not a beginner-friendly option

Just from the price alone, you can probably guess that the Business Elite plan is a different beast altogether. If you’re looking for the tippy-top of what Wix can offer your average online business owner, the Business Elite plan takes all the previously mentioned features and turns them to 11 , including:

  • Unlimited storage space
  • 15 collaborators, which is helpful for large businesses to delegate work
  • Advanced features, including marketing tools, analytics, and ecommerce
  • Priority VIP phone support so you can skip the queue
  • Retain customers with loyalty programs to share discounts, coupons, and rewards
  • Collect up to 3,000 product reviews to help improve customer trust
  • Sell unlimited products with Modalyst dropshipping

The biggest mark against this plan is price. We’d only recommend the Business Elite to thriving online businesses that need the support and can easily foot the bill – or established brick-and-mortar stores wanting to make a transition online . Either way, we don’t think this plan is good for beginners, and reiterate that the Core plan is the best value for your money .

That being said, for a high-end ecommerce plan, the Business Elite plan is cheaper than its competitors, with Advanced Shopify costing $299 per month (billed annually). If you are looking to make a switch from Shopify, the Business Elite certainly makes a good alternative, but we’d recommend all potential users try it out first with the 14-day free trial, as it’s a big commitment to make.

Enterprise Plan: Custom Pricing – For Global Brands and Industry Titans

✔️ Face no limitations when scaling your business

✔️ Dedicated account manager to help you succeed

❌ Custom plan means you’ll only know what your total is once you are given a quote that covers all your needs

❌ Only suitable for industry-leading businesses

This plan is not meant for your average Joe. Used by the likes of Kroger, Clarins, and Hello Fresh,  Wix Enterprise is intended to be used by big brands and industry leaders.

You get everything on the Business Elite plan, plus the unique feature of having a dedicated account manager to help you run your business. This includes a custom, super-charged Wix editor with developer-built component blocks and a global infrastructure of networks to support you –  all managed from a multi-site dashboard.

We know the majority of our readers are small-to-medium-sized businesses, but your business could one day get successful enough to need an enterprise plan, so it’s good to know. Since the pricing is custom, we can’t comment on the exact pricing Wix offers, but our research estimates it at around $5,000 – $25,000 per year, depending on size.

Does Wix Have Additional Fees?

Wix has some additional fees  – but all of them can be avoided. A caveat to this is if you are selling online, paying for the processing fees is impossible to avoid with Wix.

Wix Auto-Renewal

If you don’t want your plan to auto-renew, you can simply turn it off in your settings. Here’s how:

  • Go to “Billing and Payments” in your Wix account
  • Click “Plan Actions”
  • Click “Cancel Now”

Don’t worry – clicking “Cancel Now” doesn’t actually cancel your plan then and there. Instead, it means your plan won’t automatically renew the next time your subscription expires.

Wix Domain Name

Wix domains are free for the first year. After this, it will cost between $14.95 – $24.85 per year , depending on how specialized they are.

If you don’t pay for your domain, then someone else can register that domain name and use it for themselves. Your domain name’s renewal happens automatically so that you don’t lose your domain – but you can cancel the auto-renewal at any time in your settings.

Custom Email Address

Wix offers a Google Suite email address through its dashboard for $6 per month (billed annually) and $6.50 if you choose monthly billing.

Most of Wix’s features are built-in, but it does offer an app store for extra functionalities. Wix has +500 apps – of which 24 are free to use.

The rest will cost a monthly fee between $3-$20 per month . This will be heavily dependent on your website’s needs, so do some research on what you may want before building.

Screenshot of Wix's app market and its marketing apps.

Wix Payments Processing Fee

Wix charges a standard 2.9% + $0.30 on each transaction for users using Credit/Debit Cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.

If you are using a physical Wix Payments POS, then you will be charged 2.6% for cards and 2.6% + $0.20 for Tap to Pay on mobile .

Each of these fees differs depending on the region you’re in. We’ve shown the US rates, but if you are in a different region, we suggest you check out Wix’s service fees breakdown .

Processing fees are not included on returns either.

How We Test

We put Wix through hours of testing to determine whether it’s good value for money. Our research process looks at a variety of categories, including website features and ease of use, but when it comes to price, we analyze a few key areas.

Every website builder has recently increased its pricing, so our algorithm has been adjusted to reflect this change. Beyond reviewing Wix’s restructuring of its plans, we specifically look at whether Wix has a free trial or free plan (it has both), the average pricing plan, and the minimum standard of features you get for the lowest price you pay.

Summary of Wix Pricing Plans

Wix is our best-rated website builder in our research and offers four premium plans – plus a free plan and an enterprise plan. Let’s recap their prices:

  • Free plan: $0 per month – For those who want to try Wix
  • Light plan: $16 per month – For portfolios and personal sites
  • Core plan: $27 per month – For small online stores and growing businesses
  • Business plan: $32 per month – For established businesses
  • Business Elite plan: $159 per month – For large businesses with advanced needs
  • Enterprise plan: Custom pricing – For global brands and industry titans

Of these plans, the best value for money is the Core plan for $27 per month (billed annually). While it is a little more expensive than Squarespace or GoDaddy, those builders can’t compete with the amount of features and support you get with the Core plan.

If you have a small online store or a growing business, the value of the Core plan is worth its higher price tag. Wix provides all the tools you need to succeed off the bat. All that is left is the key ingredient: you!

Wix Pricing Plans.

As I mentioned before, Wix comes with 7 pricing plans, The Combo plan is the cheapest and starts at 11 USD per month with the Business VIP being the most expensive plan at 35 USD per month. So which plan is right for you? We’ll now break down each Wix plan.

1. Wix Combo Plan ($11 / Month)

Combo is the cheapest premium plan offered by WIX. It costs 11 USD per month if paid annually

Here is what the plan offers.

  • 2GB Bandwidth
  • 3GB Storage
  • Connect your Domain
  • 30 Video Minutes
  • Remove Wix Branding and Adverts

Connect your Own Domain

As you can see, the Combo plan allows you to connect you own domain to your website. It also removes WIX ads from your website.

Get Free Domain with Annual Subscription

The combo plans also offers free domain name if you pick a yearly subscription. Please note that it’s only free for the first year, the domain will be renewed at standard price from next year onward.

Limit of bandwidth and Storage

The combo plan places a limit on the amount of bandwidth and storage.

Storage is consumed when you place data like files, images , graphics etc on your website. On the other hand bandwidth is consumed when someone actually visits your website.

The 3 GB storage ought to be enough for the most small business website. A small business website will find it hard to breach 3 GB storage limit unless you are running a photography related website.

However 2 GB bandwidth limit can be reached quite quickly if your website starts getting popular. 2 GB bandwidth can support around 3000-4000 visitors per month. In case you exceed bandwidth limit, you will get a notification from WIX , prompting you to upgrade to the next higher plan.

2. Wix Unlimited Plan ($14 / Month)

It costs $14 per month if paid annually

  • UNLIMITED Bandwidth
  • 10GB Storage
  • 1 Video Hour
  • Free Domain for 1 Year
  • $300 Ad Vouchers
  • Site Booster App – $60 Value
  • Form Builder App – $48 Value

The Unlimited plan has every thing a website would need expect for an Online Store

No Limit on Bandwidth

The Unlimited plan is VERY similar to the combo plan. The main benefit of the plan is that it offers Unlimited bandwidth , So if you are expecting a good amount of traffic, then you can be rest assured that your website is ready to handle the influx of visitors.

Extra Storage and Perks

In addition to bandwidth it also offer 10 GB storage , 300 USD in Ad vouchers, and 2 additional apps totally free of cost. The bundled Form Builder app can be really useful if you plan to generate leads room your website. One thing to note here is that you can add a basic contact form in combo plan also.

3. Wix Pro Plan ($19/month)

Pro plan is priced at 19 USD / month.

  • UNLIMITED Bandwidth
  • 20GB Storage
  • Connect Your Domain
  • 2 Video Hours
  • Remove Wix Ads
  • Events Calendar – $48 Value
  • Professional Logo – $50 Value
  • Social Media Logo files

Wix has recently introduced a pro plan. In Pro plan you get additional apps like Event Calendar and Wix logo maker. You can created a professionally looking logo using the logo maker app. Not only this, you will also get 40+ different sizes of your logo ready to use on all your social media channels.

Now the question is , is it worth paying extra for access to a professional logo making app? And the answer as always is: It depends .

If you business is not a very heavy user of social media, then you can simply use a free logo maker and get a professional looking logo at no extra cost. If you already have a designer then you certainly don’t need a logo maker app. So you might not find value in the logo maker app.

If you are a service business like Gym, Salon, Therapist etc then you may find good value in the bundled Event Calendar App. It will let you quickly display your schedule on your website.

So if you have never used an online calendar app then this may be a good time to try one. Again if you have already been using an app like Google Calendar etc. then you may not be interested in the bundled event calendar app.

Recommended For:

The Pro plan is recommend Small Business websites, Portfolio Websites, Image heavy websites. The only thing this plan offers over Unlimited is access to the WIX logo maker and Event Calendar App. . If you want t professional logo and dont want to deal with the hassle of hiring a designers, then you can go with it. If you are a Service based business and want to try out an online calendar solution, then also you can give it a try. I personally do not believe that Pro offers great value over Unlimited Plan

4. Wix VIP Plan ($29/month)

  • Priority Response
  • VIP Support

VIP plan is priced at 29 USD / month , which is double that of the Unlimited plan.

The VIP plan has all the features offered in Pro plan with One additional benefit, Priority Support .

Priority / VIP Support : If you hate waiting in the queues then you will love the VIP support. If you submit a query then your support tickets and support calls are automatically pushed to the front. So if you are on VIP plan, then it ensures that your queries always receive priority over other Wix users.

You might be thinking if it is worth paying extra to receive Priority support.

In my opinion , if you website plays an integral part in your business / lead generation strategy, then paying extra for prompt support is a no-brainer. Imagine that you have a big launch coming up and you are stuck on a technical issue. In such cases receiving helpful and prompt support can be the difference between a successful launch and a failure.

VIP plan will be most useful for business who are already successful and understand how having an online presence benefits their business.

If your Online Presence is a core part of your business and lead generation, then the VIP plan comes highly recommended. With the VIP plan you are paying for the Guarantee that your support tickets will get priority in the queue. If you believe time is money then VIP plan is a perfect fit for you.

5. Wix Business Basic Plan ($20/month)

  • Accept Online Payments
  • 100% Commission FREE
  • 5 Video Hours
  • Google Analytics

The Business Basic plan is priced at 20 USD / Month

All Wix E commerce plans are commission free. It means that Wix does not charge any processing fee on the transactions. You only pay the processing fee to the payment gateway.

If you’re just starting up a standard online store, this is the cheapest option for you. It has all the standard features which are available in the website plan. In addition it has 20 GB storage and 5 Video hours.

There are no limitations to the number of products which you can add and sell online. You may add physical products which require shipping as well as digital products which do not require any shipping. Overall Business basic plan can be ideal which you are just starting out or testing the waters with eCommerce.

For business who want to build a basic Online Store. 20 GB storage is ought to be enough for business just starting out and with Unlimited bandwidth, you can focus on growing your store without worrying about running out of bandwidth.

6. Wix Business Unlimited Plan ($25/month)

  • All Features in Business Basic plan
  • Plus 35 GB Storage
  • Plus 10 Video Hours
  • Plus Professional Logo – $50 Value
  • Plus Social Media Logo Files

The Business Unlimited plan is priced at 25 USD / Month

The Business Unlimited plan is effectively same as the Business basic plan with extra storage and Video Hours. It also offers access to a professional logo maker which will also give you social network optimized logo files. If you plan to run a medium seized store, then this plan can be a good choice

Ideally suited for growing business. With extra storage available this plan can handle a decently large collection of products. The included logo maker app can be a welcome addition if you do not want to hire designers for creating a logo, however, if you are a business which plan to sell a large number of products online, then chances are you already have logo and basic branding things taken care of.

7. Wix Business VIP Plan ($35/month)

  • All Features in Business Unlimited plan
  • Plus 50 GB Storage
  • Plus Unlimited Video Hours
  • Plus Priority Response
  • Plus VIP Support

The Business VIP plan is priced at $35/ Month

In my opinion, Business VIP plan is geared towards stores which are already successful. The unlimited Video hours mean that you can go all in with the Video Marketing strategy for your store.

With Priority response, you can be sure that your queries will be handled with highest priority. VIP support means that you as a business owner, has to spend less time in managing the store. It frees up your and your teams valuable time which can be used in actually growing your business.

Ideally suited for established and large business. You are past the startup phase, have found the product market fit and are ready to step on the accelerator. You are ready to invest in Video Marketing for your business. You prefer immediate response to your support queries. You are at the stage where Time is more important than money. If it sounds like you , the go with Business VIP plan!

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the most common questions regarding Wix Pricing. If you have a specific questions pls feel free to ask in the comments.

1. Does Wix offer Free trial?

Technically speaking, Wix does not offer a free trial. What Wix offers is a 14 day money back guarantee. It means that in case you are unhappy for any reason and you end up cancelling withing first 14 days, you will get a full refund.

This is different from a free trial. Generally in free trial you get get access to premium feature without paying for them upfront. This is a minor difference but worth noting. I would suggest you to visit this link to know more about Wix Money Back policy

This along with the totally free plan means there aren’t any surprises when you sign up with Wix. Just remember if you purchase a domain name, this will not be included in the refund.

2. Does Wix offer a free plan?

Yes Wix offers a free plan. However I find the free plan quite useless. It wont let you connect you own domain to your website. Also Wix inserts huge ads on website made with free plan. You can try free plan to get a feel of features and Wix capability, but if you want a professional online presence, you will definitely need to upgrade.

3. Should you subscribe to monthly plan or annual plan?

Wix plans are available in 2 payment modes, Annual or Monthly. You are free to select between Annual or Monthly plans.

The annual plans are priced much more attractively than monthly plans . Firstly, the annual plans are 20% cheaper than the monthly plans. For example the Annual business basic plan will cost you 20 USD / month while the Monthly Business basic plan will cost you 25 USD / month. The annual plans also come with a lot of additional perks. For example, the Annual Business basic plan give you access to Ad Vouchers, Free Domain and Premium apps.

Refer to the screenshot

wix basic business plan

4. What are the Domain Name costs?

Wix offer free domain for 1 year with all the annual plans. However you must understand that after the first year, you’ll need pay for domain renewal fees.

With Wix the annual renewal fee is $14.95 per year.

This is pricier when compared to domain registrars like Name cheap, where the domain renewal fee is around $10 per year. However in my opinion this is not really not a significant cost for a business. Here are more details on Wix Domain Costs

5. How to get Personalized Email Address?

Wix does not offer a native mailbox solution.

Wix has partnered with Google and it offers Business Mailboxes through G Suite. G Suite is a collection of business apps which includes Email, Chat App, Docs, Spreadsheet etc.

If you have used Gmail, then you will feel at home with G Suite. So if you decide to go with Gsuite, you can easily setup and configure your custom email address right inside Wix dashboard.

G Suite is priced at $5 / month / email. We personally use G Suite across all of our businesses.

6. What about Email Marketing?

Wix offers a suite of Marketing tools under the Wix Ascend platform. It includes tools like Email Marketing, Lead Capture Forms, Submission forms, Social Media Posting .

With Ascend, you get access of multiple marketing tools right inside the Wix dashboard. Even though specialized marketing tools like Mailchimp are more powerful, Wix Ascend will a good choice for small business who do not want the hassle of managing multiple tools.

It is priced quite reasonably. The annual plans range from $10 per month to $49 per month.

Summary and Conclusion

Wix is the most popular website builder and its prices are competitive. Platforms like Wix have made beautiful online presence within reach of every small business.

Wix is not a cheap platform but its price is very reasonable.

It has a great collection of beautiful looking themes. So with Wix, it is easy to make a good looking website. The feature and perks like premium apps, ad vouchers, free domain offer great value for your money.

If you just want a website, I recommend going with the Combo Plan, as it can be sufficient for av average website. Of course you can upgrade in case your traffic and popularity increases in future. For E-commerce users who sell goods and service online I recommend starting with the Business basic Plan. It has everything which you will need to start selling online. Not to mention, you can always upgrade later on.

All in all Wix is a very good platform and is priced competitively.

Wix is one of the  best website builders on the market, according to our hands-on testing and research. It has cheap pricing and a wealth of features that are perfect for small businesses.

Wix’s premium website plans start from an affordable £7.50 per month , and its ecommerce plans are priced from £14 per month . Compared to how much you’d spend on employing a web designer , Wix is tremendous value. Yes, there’s a free plan, too, but this isn’t aimed at business users. Even most bloggers would baulk at its limitations.

The paid plans begin from a fantastic annual cost of under £100. This rises if you want to sell through your site, as the ecommerce plans cost more, but as business overheads go, Wix offers a super-affordable way to create a genuinely professional-looking website.

Let’s keep this simple, here are the main Wix Pricing plans – though be sure to check directly with Wix as regular deals and discounts can help reduce these further:

  • Wix free plan –  £0 per month
  • Wix Light  plan –  £7.50 per month
  • Wix Core plan  –  £14 per month
  • Wix Business plan –  £20 per month
  • Wix Business Elite plan –  £119 per month
  • Wix Enterprise plan  – Bespoke quote

Regular deals and discounts mean you can frequently save on costs, such as getting  10% off with the code “TAKE10” . Wix also offers very generous discounts when you choose longer plans. You can save up to £120 on the Business Elite plan if you opt for a 12-month contract.

How to save money on wix.

  • Wix costs compared to other web builders
  • Wix pricing: in summary

Below, we list the main details you need to know for the costs of each Wix pricing tier.

We’ve included what you’ll get as the main features at each plan. Though we’ve included the Free tier in the table below, keep in mind that this isn’t something business users should rely on. The Free version of Wix doesn’t let you have a regular URL for your site domain, and you’ll have to display ads (for Wix) on your site.

What’s included with your plan?

On the Core, Business, and Business Elite plans, you can use one of Wix’s 800+ templates to build and launch a professional-looking website that has no Wix branding.

It’s important to note that the Core, Business, Business Elite, and the Enterprise plans all offer ecommerce functionalities, but the Light plan doesn’t.  So if you want to launch an online store, you’ll have to choose one of the Wix online store plans. If you choose one of the ecommerce plans, you’ll have access to a bounty of features to help you make your online store a success, including:

  • Up to 50,000 products to showcase on your site
  • Abandoned cart recovery
  • Multi-channel selling (including socials like Instagram )

Each of Wix’s ecommerce plan comes with these features. However, there are key differences between each package, so it’s best to choose a plan that meets all of the needs of your ecommerce business.

But what do you get for your money for the higher-cost Wix plans? Is the free tier worth considering at all? And do you need the features you’re paying for, and could you get the same for less elsewhere? Let’s dive into Wix’s pricing to help you decide which plan may be the best for your business.

  • Free forever - you can publish a site at zero cost
  • You'll have access to hundreds of Wix templates and its app store for plug-ins
  • A great way of getting a feel for building a site on Wix, without getting your wallet out
  • You can't sell products without paying for a plan
  • You can't connect a custom domain - your web address will have 'Wix' in it
  • The site will have adverts for Wix on it

wix ad website example

Wix has a free plan, which you can use to build and launch a website without spending a penny. It doesn’t require any card details, and there’s no obligation to upgrade to a paid-for plan.

It serves as a fantastic starting point for anyone venturing into website building. With this plan, you gain access to Wix’s intuitive drag-and-drop website builder, making the process of creating a website a breeze, even without any coding experience.

However, there are two important caveats: the first is that your website will bear a Wix-branded domain (such as username.wixsite.com/siteaddress), rather than a custom domain. Secondly, Wix ads will display on your site, which won’t give off a professional vibe (but can be a small trade-off for a free service).

Storage and bandwidth are also limited to 500MB each , which could potentially restrict the growth of your website, especially if you’re anticipating high traffic or uploading a lot of media files.

Despite these limitations, you still get access to some handy features like the Wix SEO Wiz for basic search engine optimisation, and the Wix App Market, which houses a variety of free and paid apps that can enhance your website – often at no additional cost.

Who is the free plan suitable for?

Though we’ve included the Free tier in the table below, keep in mind that this isn’t something business users should rely on due to the Wix-branded site domain, and having to display ads (for Wix) on your site.

A better option is to   start a free trial of one of the plans that gives you access to ecommerce features,  allowing you to get a feel for the platform and its online store offering. Remember, though, if you’re creating an online store with Wix, you can do so for free – but you can’t actually sell any products until you pay for a premium plan.

Wix Light –  £7.50 per month

  • Incredibly low-cost, affordable plan for any business
  • You can add your own custom domain
  • 24/7 customer support for such a minimal price
  • Only a minor upgrade on Wix's free plan
  • No customer accounts
  • Minimal storage and bandwidth make it hard to run your business effectively online

wix basic business plan

The basic paid plan will offer you the features you need to present the world with a professional website for your business. You will be able to drop the free Wix URL (username.wixsite.com/siteaddress) and create your own domain name, giving your brand a professional look. This plan costs £7.50 per month – and you can get 10% off using our code ‘ TAKE10 ‘ .

However, like the free version of Wix, there are still limits to what can be done with the platform. You get 2GB of storage space , two collaborators, and 30 minutes worth of video content on your site. This can limit how professional and appealing your site ends up looking because you won’t have the option to upload all your own video content. The limit of two separate logins will make it harder to collaborate simultaneously on Wix, making editing and upgrading your website a time-consuming task.

With a limited offering, your site could run into quite a few problems in the future, including website crashes and gateway timeouts. If you opt for the Basic plan but want to circumvent this issue, we’d suggest making image sizes smaller when uploading.

Who is the Light plan suitable for?

Wix’s Light plan is an excellent choice for businesses or side hustles that need to create  professional online presence but don’t require ecommerce functionalities .

It caters well to service-based businesses, such as consultants, freelancers, photographers, or local businesses like restaurants or salons that want to showcase their offerings and connect with potential clients. With its user-friendly website builder and access to professional templates, the Light plan allows businesses to create a polished and informative online front that reflects their brand identity.

However, the Light plan might not be suitable for businesses that are heavily reliant on video content. While Wix does support video integration, the Light plan has limitations in terms of storage and bandwidth when compared with the higher-tier plans. Businesses that primarily focus on video content creation, such as vloggers, video production companies, or online courses, may find these restrictions limiting.

Light – Can I have an online store?

This plan doesn’t offer an ecommerce functionality, so you’ll need to opt for one of its pricier plans (Core, Business, Business Elite) if you want to set up an online shop.

Wix Core – £14 per month

  • Removes those pesky, unprofessional looking Wix ads
  • 50GB of storage space allows you to create more complex websites and have more creative freedom
  • Free domain for 1 year
  • Up to 5 hours of video uploading available to stream and showcase your videos online
  • Customers can create accounts for fast checkout and specific payment methods
  • Capability to sell on social channels including Facebook and Instagram
  • Abandoned cart recovery through email reminders to improve customer sales
  • Unlimited products so customers can shop through your full inventory
  • Limited bandwidth, making it less suitable for busy websites
  • No access to Wix's site booster app
  • Multiple currencies are not accepted - issue for businesses selling internationally
  • No advanced shipping methods
  • No marketplace selling functionality - which means on Etsy, eBay or Amazon sales

Core is a great first step for those who are building a website for the first time, costing £14 per month. We would recommend this plan for any micro business owners that want to dip their toe in the website building water – especially if you are just after the basics at an affordable price. But, it’s a limited plan for any business anticipating a large amount of site traffic.

You can use your own custom domain – free for your first year if you purchase it through Wix – and create a fully customised website with no Wix ads.

Who is the Core plan suitable for?

The Wix Core plan is perfectly reasonable for a simple informational site serving a smallish audience – say, a restaurant website , or a small business information and contact site.

Your bandwidth is capped at 50GB , however, which means it would be a limited choice if you expected to have a lot of website traffic. This wouldn’t be a good choice for a busy online store, for example.

Wix’s Core plan is a very solid offering when compared with the basic plans of its competitors like Shopify or SquareSpace, particularly because you pay just £14 per month (compared to Shopify’s Basic £25 and SquareSpace’s Business £17) while still getting a rich offering of features.

Core may not be suitable for businesses that want to add numerous videos and photos to a site, due to the data limit however. That said, if you host your videos on YouTube, you can embed them into your Wix site with just a quick copy-and-paste, and at no extra cost at all.

Core – Can I have an online store?

When it comes to ecommerce, Core is a great option for small businesses that are just starting to sell online . The plan allows you to accept online payments securely and manage all transactions via the Wix dashboard.

It also gives you access to some basic sales features, including customer accounts for faster checkout, unlimited inventory, collections that can be filtered, and abandoned cart recovery with push email notifications.

Business – £20 per month –  our top recommendation

  • One year free of site booster - an amazing Wix app that will help you get found higher up on search engines
  • Up to 10 collaborators, which makes website building a teamwork exercise
  • A solid 100GB of storage space ensures you have plenty of room for videos, photos. documents and more
  • Offer subscriptions to your customers and collect recurring payments on your products and services
  • Advanced shipping methods allow you to reach more customers and manage end-to-end order fulfilment
  • Display product pricing in multiple currencies so you can appeal to a wider, more international audience
  • Sell on the worlds biggest marketplaces - including eBay
  • No customised report to help you stay on track of how well your website is performing
  • Only offered 24/7 customer care instead of priority - can be an issue as sales and demand increases
  • Can't generate customised reports to analyse sales performance
  • Dropshipping functionality is available - but limited compared to the Business Elite plan

The Wix Business plan is our top recommendation for the majority of small businesses.

It includes everything that comes with the Core plan, including a free custom domain for one year and the removal of Wix ads. You’ll also receive 100GB of storage, and 10 hours of video content on your site.

You also get access to two of Wix’s most sophisticated apps: the Site Booster app (for one year) and visitor analytics, both of which are fundamental when creating a successful business website using Wix. Site Booster can help you rank higher by giving you tailored SEO recommendations for search engines like Google, while visitor analytics allows you to assess your website’s traffic and specific page performance.

Although Wix is a fantastic provider, if you’re strapped for cash, we recommend looking at Squarespace’s Business plan as an alternative. With Squarespace , you’ll pay £17 per month for the Business plan, compared to Wix’s £20 per month .

The £3 per month price difference primarily affects the feature set and customisation options available to users. While both platforms offer intuitive website builders, ecommerce capabilities, and professional templates, Wix’s extensive app marketplace is superior to Squarespace’s. Plus, with Wix, users benefit from priority support for Business plan subscribers, which adds value despite the slightly higher price point.

Still, there’s one reason we would recommend Squarespace over Wix, and that’s the sumptuous visuals of the Squarespace templates. If you’re building a site for a business in an industry where design matters above all else, then Squarespace has the edge over any competitor. Its templates can’t be beaten for sheer looks

Business – Can I have an online store?

When it comes to ecommerce, this plan is great for growing businesses that anticipate higher traffic or require advanced marketing and analytics features.

Its capabilities stretch beyond domestic sales, with its multiple currency feature and advanced shipping methods – including end-to-end order fulfilment.

The difference between this and the Core plan – which both offer ecommerce – is that this plan is for SMEs that are serious about starting an online store and need a wider range of functionalities.

It doubles the storage space (100GB vs 50GB) and allows for more collaborators (10 vs 5) than the Core plan. Additionally, the Business plan provides a Standard marketing suite and Standard site analytics, offering in-depth tools to help promote your website and track its performance.

For Wix users who want to sell internationally, these features help overcome two significant barriers that online stores face. One is displaying the costs accurately for customers in their chosen currency, and the other is receiving goods safely and securely from overseas without hassle.

Your business can also benefit from Wix’s collaboration with the dropshipping supplier Modalyst, offering inventory on up to 250 products, as well as up to 1,000 product reviews through KudoBuzz.

wix visitor analytics

Want unlimited bandwidth and storage for your website for just £20 per month? Go for the Wix Business plan.

Business Elite – £119 per month

  • Unlimited storage space - ideal for sophisticated, intrinsic, and creative website designs
  • Free one year of site booster and visitor analytics apps to help you grow your website with ease
  • Professional logo design feature lets you create a logo for your brand that means business
  • Priority customer care lets you jump the queues and receive support when you need it most
  • Expensive compared to the Business plan, and doesn't include unlimited storage space like other competitor's premium plans
  • Not cost effective for micro businesses

The Business Elite plan is a serious ramp-up from what Wix’s cheaper plans offer, and has been designed to support larger businesses . It includes everything from the previous plans, as well as first-priority support so you can skip the queues and get immediate assistance for any issues, such as site errors.

Professional logo and social media logo designs (when purchasing a yearly subscription or higher) are available as part of the pricing, so you can present your brand to your customers in the most sophisticated way possible. On the cheaper Wix plans, you can pay extra to create a logo.

You also get much bigger allowances, with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage, and you can upload up to five hours of video content (very recently increased from 20GB of storage and unlimited hours of video content).

The Business Elite plan grants you access to the full suite of Wix features, bandwidth and support, making it a great fit for larger scale businesses that deal with higher volumes of traffic visiting their sites. You’ll have access to first-priority support , meaning if anything goes wrong, you’ll be connected to a dedicated agent much more quickly, compared to support requests on other plans.

This is something you’ll want to access if your website regularly gets a lot of traffic — extended amounts of downtime or issues could lead you to lost revenue.

You’ll also have unlimited storage and an allowance for 15 collaborators, making it easier for you and key stakeholders to contribute and collaborate. Most importantly, you’ll also have advanced site analytics, giving you all the data you need to get insights into how customers access your site and interact with its pages.

For example, you’ll be able to map out your website data on bar charts, line charts, maps and heat maps, equipping you with data-driven insights on how to improve your website traffic and ranking.

Business Elite –  Can I have an online store?

You certainly can – in fact, if you’re running a large, successful online store that gets a high volume of customer traffic, then the Business Elite Plan is the best option to choose from Wix.

The unlimited storage and bandwidth we mentioned above are pretty much essential for a large scale ecommerce site. You don’t want to find yourself hitting a data cap just as a busy trading season begins, after all.

On top of this, the boosted customer support options will put you at the front of the queue should anything go wrong, minimising your potential downtime and ensuring the sales keep flowing.

It also comes equipped with an unlimited dropshipping functionality and in-depth and customisable reporting, ideal for ecommerce businesses that are looking to scale. With Wix’s Analytics Reports, you’ll be able to map out your website data on bar charts, line charts, maps and heat maps, equipping you data-driven insights on how to improve your website traffic and ranking.

Wix frequently runs deals and discounts in the form of flash sales. Visit our Wix flash sale page for the latest deals.

In addition to the plan you choose, there are a number of other factors that will affect the overall cost of your Wix website. These include:

Billing cycles

Wix offers its customers a range of billing cycles. You can choose to pay:

  • Every month
  • Two years upfront
  • Three years upfront

Your decision will depend entirely on how long you plan to commit to your Wix subscription. The longer the commitment, the cheaper the plan. However, be aware that you can’t transfer your actual Wix website (the template) over to another platform. You can transfer your domain, but NOT the website itself.

After you’ve made your decision, you can choose whichever billing cycle suits your business best at checkout.

Once you’ve paid for your subscription, you can’t then change your billing cycle until it’s run its course.

For example, if you choose the Business plan, for each billing cycle option, you’d pay:

  • Monthly: £23 per month
  • Yearly: £20 per month
  • Two years: £16.50 per month
  • Three years : £15 per month

The displayed price also excludes VAT . Web builders are subjected to the standard UK VAT rate of 20%.

So, for an annual subscription on the Business plan, you’d pay:

£20 per month x 12 = £240 + VAT at 20% (£48) = £288

Take advantage of deals and discounts: Wix frequently offers promotional codes and discounts, so be sure to check its website or social media pages before you upgrade to a premium plan. For instance, the code “ TAKE10 ” will give you 10% off your entire purchase.

Choose a longer billing cycle: Wix offers significant discounts for choosing longer billing cycles, such as a year or three years, compared to paying monthly. For example, you can save up to £120 on the Business Elite plan if you choose a 12-month contract instead of the monthly plan. Savings with the cheapest plan, Core

Savings with the most expensive plan, Business Elite:

Wix payments and transaction fees.

Wix has its very own payment solution: Wix Payments. It is easy to set up, and allows you to accept credit and debit cards, iDeal, and Pay Now by Klarna.

All payments taken through Wix Payments are subject to a 2.1% + 20p transaction fee.

In the UK, the minimum charge amount is £1.

Alternatively, Wix allows you to accept payments from a range of other payment providers. Be aware that every payment provider charges a different processing fee.

We recommend you read Wix’s in-depth payment processing fees guide for more info.

Wix domain name renewal

It’s pretty much standard practice in the industry to offer a free domain name for the first year of your website builder or ecommerce plan, which then renews at the standard rate.

The cost will depend entirely on your chosen domain name extension, the number of years you select, whether or not you choose to add privacy protection, and local tax or VAT laws.

Find out everything you need to know about domain name costs in this guide .

Wix add-ons and extras

The Wix app market offers more than 300 apps and business tools that you can use to enhance the functionality of your website. Available apps include Quickbooks , Mailchimp, Google Ads, HubSpot , and more. You can check out the full range on the Wix app store .

Wix and our value for money cost comparison

While Wix doesn’t offer the absolute cheapest website plans. For instance, it’s unercut by the cheaper GoDaddy. But, we’d argue it’s still a top value website builder to choose, thanks to the outstanding features and ease of use you get for a still very low overhead.

In our research, Wix ranked highly for its features, such as the ability to create a unique mobile experience for your website, engage visitors with eye-catching animations, and the ability to manage appointments directly through your site with Wix Bookings.

Our second-ranked platform, Shopify, charges £19-£259 per month (or even more on monthly billing) for its comparable ecommerce plans. This makes Wix a potentially more affordable option, especially for those starting out.

You can also take a close look at how WordPress compares with Wix in terms of pricing and features in our dedicated Wix vs WordPress  guide.

We tested 8website builders to evaluate them in terms of functionality, usability, accuracy, and aesthetics so we can make the most useful recommendations to small UK-based businesses.

Our rigorous testing process means these products have been scored and rated in six main categories of investigation and 33 subcategories – in fact, we covered 251 areas of investigation in total. We then gave each category score a ‘relevance weighting’ to ensure the product’s final score perfectly reflects the needs of our Startups.co.uk readers.

Our main testing categories for website builders are:

  • Website Features: the capabilities and functionalities offered by a website builder, e.g. blog functionality, SEO capability, and marketing capacity.
  • Design : the aesthetic appeal and visual layout of a website created using a website builder. It encompasses aspects such as page templates and customisable themes.
  • Customer Score : external customer opinion; the feedback and ratings given by customers who have used a particular website builder – the market position and reputation a website builder holds.
  • Ease of Use: how user-friendly and intuitive a website builder is for people with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Value for Money : the balance between the cost of a website builder and the benefits it provides. It considers factors such as pricing plans, subscription models, and available features.
  • Help and Support : the assistance and resources available to users when they encounter issues or need guidance while using a website builder.

Conclusion: is Wix good value?

You should now have a clearer view of what Wix costs, at each of its price points. The remaining question may be,  is it worth the money?

It’s a strong “yes” from us. keep in mind, for even a very basic business website, you could end up spending hundreds or even thousands of pounds contracting a website designer. If you want them to build you a functioning ecommerce store, you’re now talking tends of thousands.

Wix, on the other hand, lets you do much of the above from under £100 per year. Even for an ecommerce site on the Business Plan – which should suit most new online stores – you’re able to keep costs to under £250 per year, while still benefiting from the immensely impressive templates and setup options Wix gives you. There’s no coding needed, and support is always on hand.

To summarise, below are all of Wix’s pricing plans:

  • Wix free plan –   £0 per month
  • Wix Light plan –   £7.50 per month
  • Wix Core plan  –   £14 per month
  • Wix Business plan –   £20 per month
  • Wix Business Elite plan –   £119 per month
  • Wix Enterprise plan –  Bespoke quote

Based on the abundance of features you get for the price point, Wix is undoubtedly a good-value web-building product.

Still not sure? The free plan is a great way to get a taste of Wix risk-free, but we’d recommend upgrading to a premium plan as soon as possible if you want to see what Wix really has to offer.

Remember, there’s a 14-day free trial for all premium plans. You can try any of them out, and cancel if it doesn’t seem like the right fit for your business.

Remember, Wix is also offering 10% off to all new users with the code “ TAKE10 ” and there’s a   14-day free trial for all premium plans.

  • Is Wix actually free? Wix has a free plan available. However, we don't recommend this as an option for businesses because you can't sell online and your site will be littered with Wix ads. You'll also have no custom domain - which doesn't create a sense of professionalism. We suggest you use Wix's free plan to test out the features.
  • How can I save money on Wix? The best ways to save on Wix right now are to use the 10% discount code “TAKE10” for 10% off for all new users, and to opt for longer plans to capitalise on the long-term savings.
  • What are the disadvantages of Wix? There aren't many disadvantages to using Wix as your website builder or ecommerce platform. The VIP plans are incredibly efficient, particularly considering the cost. The primary disadvantage with Wix is that once you have chosen your template and set up your website, you can't change template. Other disadvantages would be that Wix's dropshipping functionality is not as strong as other competitors, like Shopify and BigCommerce.
  • Is WordPress better than Wix? For most small business owners, WordPress is not better than Wix. The only time WordPress may out perform Wix is when you have a solid level of coding experience, and can build using an open source platform (which is how WordPress operates). If you have no coding experience, Wix should be your go-to provider.
