Verona net Group Athesis deal

Italian soccer team renew with media company..

Italian top-tier soccer side Hellas Verona have renewed their partnership with media company Editorial Group Athesis.

The Verona-based publisher, which first sponsored the club in 2016, will continue to be the media partner of the Serie A outfit for the 2017/18 season.

Under the terms of the extended deal, the team will feature regularly in Athesis’ local newspaper, with Athesis-owned radio station Radio Verona broadcasting all of their matches for the current season.

The financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Verona score double deal

“This is a partnership that represents us,” said Helli Maurizio Setti, president of Verona. “Because the Athesis group identifies with the city of Verona, it was right to continue this relationship. In the past, we have been close with Athesis and so must do so this year as well. They represent a great publishing group, so I think it will be crucial to share the principles of our society.”

Alessandro Zelger, chief executive of Athesis, added: “Our history and our consolidated relationship with Hellas strengthen us and encourage us to continue to establish ourselves in the area and witness the positive effects football has in the city. Joy, passion, and enthusiasm for football and sports are values that have always distinguished Verona's history, so the guidelines of a local newspaper like ours must be considered. “

Verona were promoted to Serie A after finishing second in the Italian second-tier, Serie B, in the 2016/17 season. They have struggled to find their feet in their 2017/18 league campaign, having yet to find a win from their opening seven games. Verona held Torino FC to a 2-2 draw on 1st October, and will look for that elusive first victory when they host Benevento Calcio on Monday.

May be because we wanted to distinguish divisare from the web that is condemned to a sort of vertical communication, always with the newest architecture at the top of the page, as the "cover story," "the focus."

Content that was destined, just like the oh-so-new architecture that had just preceded it a few hours earlier, to rapidly slide down, day after day, lower and lower, in a vertical plunge towards the scrapheap of page 2.

So we began to build divisare not vertically, but horizontally.

Our model was the bookcase, on whose shelves we have gathered and continue to collect hundreds and hundreds of publications by theme. Every Collection in our Atlas tells a particular story, conveys a specific viewpoint from which to observe the last 20 years of contemporary architecture. A long, patient job of cataloguing, done by hand: image after image, project after project, post after post. Behind all this there is the certainty that we can do better than the fast, distracted web we know today, where the prevailing business model is: "you make money only if you manage to distract your readers from the contents of your own site." With divisare we want to offer the possibility, instead, of perceiving content without distractions. No "click me," "tweet me, "share me,” "like me." No advertising. banners, pop—ups or other distracting noise.

It is a different idea of the web, which we might call slow web.

NLMK resumes steel production in Verona

MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - Russian steelmaker NLMK Group has resumed production at its plant in Verona, Italy.

"NLMK Verona has resumed production along the whole chain: steelmaking, production of slabs and plate," a company spokesman told Interfax.

"The plant is operating with a reduced workload due to low market activity and government orders that restrict production of products for critical segments. NLMK Verona management, together with union organizations, has worked out and implemented comprehensive measures to ensure the sanitary safety of all the plant's workers during the Covid-19 epidemic," the spokesman said.

The group's Italian plant makes slabs for press forming and sheet from special steels for critical sectors such as manufacturing of medical and energy equipment. The plant shut down for two weeks in late March due to a government order to shutter industrial production facilities for two weeks, with some exceptions, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

NLMK Verona is part of the group's NLMK Europe Plate division with total capacity of 1.75 million tonnes of rolled products per year. The Italian plant employs about 300 people and produces 25,000 tonnes of product per month.
