I know it might sound over enthusiastic, but I used to have this planner on my reMarkable, and it was kind of my beacon. I missed it so much when I lost my tablet. Now I have a BOOX and bought a new planner, and you can't possibly know how happy I am.
(On the other hand, I don't know why I had to create a new account, but it doesn't matter).

15 Checklist, Schedule, and Planner Templates for Students
Planning templates for students can help keep track of classes and homework, making preparations for the school year a breeze.
Templates are extremely useful for business documents, but for students they can be lifesavers.
You have enough to think about during the school year, so using a template can save a ton of time. Put your mind on your classes and use these helpful checklist and planning templates for the rest.
1. Homework Checklist
For a plain and simple homework checklist, this template from TeacherVision is great for younger students, but can work for any age. Each subject is in its own spot with days of the week and check boxes to mark off as you complete assignments.
2. Printable Homework Planner
This next homework planner from TidyForm lets you easily plan your assignments for each day of the week and even the weekend. Instead of listing out the subjects, you can enter them yourself for the day and include details with due dates for each.
Note: you will need a PDF editor to make changes to the template on your computer.
3. Homework Schedule
Another planner from TidyForm breaks down your days into time blocks. Each hour slot is along the left side of the sheet with the seven days of the week across the top. This one is great for assignments, but you could use it for class schedules or work shifts to plan your entire week ahead of time.
It is a basic template, but a useful one.
4. Class Schedule and Planner
If you need a more detailed planner, this schedule is intended for classes. However, it can also be used for more. It uses time blocks like the TidyForm planner, but breaks them down into increments that you choose. Adjust the start time and interval minutes and the sheet automatically updates. You can add your classes, pop in your homework time, and add shifts for work all in one place.
5. Assignment Schedule
This template from Vertex42 is another with time blocks in 30-minute increments. And, this one has even more detail. On one side of the template, you can list out classes with assignments, dates, and times.
On the other side, you can add your class schedule or plan your homework and projects. The workbook also includes a Homeschool tab for parents homeschooling their children. Overall, it's a good dual-purpose option.
6. Multiple-Task Planner
If you are a OneNote user, check out this option from OneNoteGem. You can quickly fill out subjects and assignments for five days of the week. This is ideal for classes that have many tasks on the same day.
For example, you may need to work on a group project, research a paper, and finish an assignment in one day. The template has a good amount of room for those to-dos.
7. Student Notebook
Also, for OneNote you can download an entire student notebook template. Just scroll further down on the OneNoteGem templates page for this option.
What's nice about this template is that the notebook includes sections for planners, five classes, and research along with note-taking tips.
8. Class Schedule
For a neat and flexible class schedule template, this one is available for Excel, OpenOffice, and Google Sheets. It is basic with time slots broken into 15-minute increments on one tab and 30-minute increments on another. Plus, it includes seven days of the week, unlike many others. For college students, this is a terrific class schedule template.
9. Student Planner
With a student planner that lists your subjects by week, you can stay on track every single day. Vertex42 has two templates to pick from that offer different layouts.
One option has the subjects down the left side with days of the week across the top. The other template is the reverse of that. Each has spots for to-dos and notes and is available for either Excel or as a PDF.
10. All-in-One Schedule and Budget
For an all-in-one workbook for college, this Excel template has sheets for classes per term, course credits, a college budget, and textbooks. You can keep everything in one place. You can also track your overall progress and your current GPA.
11. Student Calendar
Another planner from Microsoft Office is this 12-month student calendar. There is a tab for each month, spots for a weekly schedule, and a section for assignments. The year cell is editable making it reusable for your entire college career.
This template makes planning study time and homework a breeze.
12. Dorm Room Checklist
If you are heading to a dorm room for college, there is no better way to make sure you have everything than with this checklist template. You can add box numbers for packing and checks when you pack the items.
The template gives you sections such as kitchen supplies, electronics, computer equipment, safety items, and more.
13. Back to School Checklist
For parents with kids in elementary or middle school, this checklist is perfect for back-to-school time. One column has tasks to take care of like verifying immunizations and obtaining a school supply list. The second column has items to purchase from clothes and a backpack to school supplies.
If you have a youngster getting ready for a new school year, this is the template for you.
14. College Budget
When you need to keep an eye on your college budget, this template is just for it. The top section is for your funding and income with the bottom for your expenses. The most common types of college-related items are included, making this a convenient template for college students.
15. Monthly College Budget
This monthly budget tracker from Microsoft Office gives you a simple way to view your cash flow. You can glance at the pie charts at the top to get an overview of your income and expenses by month. Change the values below to add your items and the charts change automatically.
It's one simple sheet with everything you need to budget each month.
Time for Class!
For classes, assignments, budgeting, supplies, course credits, and all that goes with these things, make sure you are prepared when the bell rings or classroom door closes. Now that you have these 15 awesome template options, you are on your way to starting the school year off right.

How Can a Homework Checklist Help?

- Student Checklist
A Homework Checklist is a useful tool to implement in order to keep track of homework. It is a great way to organize tasks, events, any deadlines, and even any additional materials that may need to be brought into a lesson. By using the Homework Checklist for students, they become more responsible and will get used to the routine, understanding the importance of being punctual and being organized.
Such checklists can be used by students, parents, and even teachers to steer responsibility away from the adults and teach students to work more independently.
A typical daily Homework Checklist will contain information on the subjects of the day, details about the tasks set by teachers (for each subject) as well as the date that the homework was set and the deadline date for completing the homework task. You can also leave a small box for students to tick off any completed tasks, making it easier to visualize the progress made in completing homework.
As most homework tasks are handed out on a daily basis, instead of printing pages for every single day which is timely and more expensive in the long run - we would suggest printing one template and laminating it. This way, a student can reuse the same checklist by using a non-permanent board marker and rubbing off information per day.
A Homework Checklist template can be downloaded by clicking the link below .
Homework can be extremely tough for some students especially when there is lots of it. This is particularly true for students that may not be used to receiving such a workload for one reason or another.
Keeping on track and trying to remember what needs to be done and when it needs to be done by can be very challenging, particularly for young learners. It also seems unfair to put that responsibility on teachers and parents - after all, the child will at some point have to hold responsibility for their work and parents have a ton of other responsibilities.
This is why a Homework Checklist can really help. It helps to minimize stress in students as it makes them feel confident that they know what they need to do along with the deadlines for these tasks. This can really help to teach students to prioritize workload and teach them the importance of completing a sequential process in order to get to an end result.
It also helps students form a clear pathway and enhances their problem-solving skills. They have a problem (a homework task that needs completing) and they need to find a solution (the best way to complete the homework) within a specific amount of time (the deadline date), whilst also juggling other schoolwork, responsibilities, and commitments. This combination has proven to be effective in improving cognitive function in children and developing problem-solving among young learners. It helps students become independent learners which is a great skill to have for the future.

This free homework checklist printable is the perfect way to stay on track and not miss assignments!
It’s the one we use and that’s worked best for our three kids.
I started seeing the need for a homework checklist by the second week of school.
We’d go through the same dance each afternoon of me asking what they had for homework and getting either vague answers or blank looks.
They’d end up missing assignments and then rushing to make them up throughout the week.
There had to be a better way.
So, the homework checklist was created to not only help them organize their thoughts, but to help me keep from going batty. 😉
AN END TO HOMEWORK STRUGGLES
Not only does the free homework checklist that I created make it easier for the kids to focus and work their way through their “to-do” list, but it also gives me an idea of what needs to be accomplished and how to help with homework .
The free downloadable homework checklist below is perfect for organizing daily work, planning out the week’s homework assignments, and creating a general plan for work completion.
You might even want to print out enough for the entire month and fill in the long-term assignments too, so that they don’t sneak up on you the day before they’re due.
Print it out and use it to help your kids succeed too!
If you’re a teacher and would like to use it with your class, consider permission granted.🙂

I have always loved planners and checklists. For me, and so many other people, they’re a great way to stay organized and get things done.
When we homeschooled, the years that I felt that we all had things together the best was when we started using daily and weekly checklists for assignments. Checklists helped me when I was planning and it helped the kids stay organized and know what to expect.
To help you and your children or students stay more organized this school year, I have a new set of printable weekly assignment sheets available in both color and black and white.
Note: The printable assignment sheet set is available farther down in the post.

Printable Weekly Assignment Sheet for Students
This weekly assignment sheet set contains two options and both come in the set.
There is an option that is in black and white, which can save on printer ink. If you use this option, your children or students could even use some light-colored markers or highlighters to color in the boxes with the subject name in them. Of course, they could also just leave them as is.
The other option is in color (just in the headings of each section) and uses colors inspired by the very popular Zebra Mildliner Highlighters . This is a very visually appealing option, especially if you have access to a color printer. (Here is a newer version of the color printer I have and love .)
Side note on these highlighters: Both my husband and daughter have been using these and are raving about them!
Which Subjects are Included on the Printable Weekly Assignment Sheet?
The weekly assignment planner has sections for the following subjects:
- Reading Log
- Social Studies
- Other (you could fill in religion, foreign language, or any other subject or task; if you write small enough, you might be able to put multiple things on the same line)
More about the Reading Log
The reading log section is different than the other sections of the weekly assignment sheet. It has a spot to write down the title of the book that the student is reading, the day, the amount of time to spend reading, and either how many pages to read or specifically which pages to read.
If you’d like an additional reading log, you might like these:

Ways to Use the Weekly Assignment Sheet Set
While I’m sure you creative people out there can probably figure out more ways to use the weekly assignment planner sheets, I have two suggestions for ways to use them.
1. Use it for Writing All Assignments
In a homeschool setting, you could write out the week’s plans for your child and give them the sheet all filled in at the beginning of the week. They can then check off items as they finish them all week. This was the method I used in our homeschool, especially as my children got older.
If you want to do this same idea in a classroom setting, you might give your students the blank form and then tell them what to write in for each day or have it on a whiteboard for them to copy down.
2. Use it Exclusively for Homework
Students could use the weekly assignment sheet to write down all of their homework throughout the week. In this method, students would only write down their homework in each section, not every assignment.

Homeschool Daily Checklist + FREE Printable for Your Kids

Balancing homeschooling, housekeeping and running a business is challenging. One thing that helps me stay organized is a good homeschooling checklist! Today I’m going to share with you my homeschool daily checklist (and yes – there’s a free printable at the end of the post!).
Everyone is different, but I personally love to have a routine to follow in our homeschool. When I first began homeschooling , I scheduled everything out to the hour each day, thinking that if I could just have the perfect plan and schedule, my homeschool would run smoothly.
Those of you with multiple little ones can empathize with me on how that actually turned out! That schedule was out the door after the first month (I really tried for a few weeks!).
Don’t get me wrong – schedules can be great. I used to teach high school math, so it’s no wonder I tried to run my homeschool in a similar fashion, schedule-wise. But at this time in our lives, a loose routine and a homeschool daily checklist is working much better!
I use a homeschooling checklist to not only keep me on track with what we have to accomplish each day, but to help teach my kids to manage their time well.
Not only does it help them learn how self-regulate, but having a checklist helps them take ownership about moving through their school day without me nagging them every step of the way (who wants that?). Plus, it’s satisfying to check off all those little boxes and see what you’ve accomplished that day!
Using Our Homeschool Checklists
I’m often asked what our homeschool routine looks like, so I wanted to share that first so you can see how we use our checklists.
Note : the one thing I do not put on our homeschool daily checklist is a list of specific chores . I created separate chore charts to use for that, as we use a zone cleaning method with our kids in our home. You can read more about that here !
So once the kids wake up, they have breakfast and get ready for the day (get dressed, brush teeth and hair). I used to include those tasks on our charts, but since my kids are a little bigger now, they are more habits than anything.
Most days we’ll then together to pray or do our bible lesson before separating into individual school work.
This year we are using BJU Press Homeschool for most of our curriculum, and it has been a blessing in this season! My older kids (3rd, 2nd, and 2nd grade) have gotten a chance to be more self-directed in their school work while I chase the toddler around. The mixture of independent and parent-led learning has been a good balance for us.
[CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT ONE OF OUR TOP CURRICULUM PICKS]
On their checklists, I write down each thing they need to finish daily. This varies per child, but for example, my son’s checklist typically reads :
- Heritage Studies/Science
- Handwriting
- 15 Minutes Piano
- AWANAS work
- 30 minutes of silent reading
- Chores (listed on here as a reminder to finish them!)
So mostly I list out the subjects he needs to complete, along with anything else that week that needs to get done.
The great thing about a homeschool checklist is that it isn’t tied to a strict time, but gives my kids a guideline of what is expected of them.
It’s also very helpful for me, since I have kids at different levels and I am not working with all of them at once all the time… it helps me keep track of who has done what!
I also jokingly call our checklists the “Can I have electronics?” form , because before we started using them, that’s inevitably what I would get asked all day. Now my kids know that if they want to have the privilege of using their electronics, they need to show me that their charts are completed.
Most days my kids get through their entire list, but if they don’t, they know they have to do a little bit extra the next day or on the weekend (we will discuss these expectations together depending on the circumstances).
Filling Out Your Homeschool Checklist Printable
I hope these checklists will also be a super easy way for you to help your kids keep track of their daily tasks!
There are 10 different designs I have created; let your student pick out their favorite one (might make it a little more fun to complete). You can print one out for each week and put it in the front of a binder or planner. Another great option is to laminate it or stick it in a page protector and use a dry-erase marker!
The Daily Task list and Weekly Habit sections are editable , so if you are going to print them weekly, you can easily edit them on your computer first.
(The blue editable fields will print clear when you print the homeschool checklists!)
Simply list out the tasks you would like your kids to complete each day in your homeschool. Most likely this will be school work or subjects, but if you don’t have chore charts , you might also include chores (really anything that needs to be completed each day).
It’s best to be specific with your tasks when applicable! For example, writing “30 minutes violin practice” is better than just “practice violin”, so your child has a boundary to follow.
Homeschool Habit Tracker Checklist
Use the “Weekly Habits” space at the bottom to track things that might not get done every day, but you still want your kids to get into a good habit of doing them!
For us, I included music practice and silent reading on our checklist as things I want done every day, but you could include them in the habit section instead. Bible study or devotion time might be good to write in if your kids are working on that habit.
The mother who takes pains to endow her children with good habits secures for herself smooth and easy days. Charlotte Mason
If your kids are working on personal care habits like brushing their teeth, daily bathing, brushing their hair, or picking up their rooms, those could go in the habits section.
Talk with your kids and let them help you come up with good habits they want to work on! Then look over their lists each week to see if they are meeting their goals. After a few weeks of creating the habits, take them off the checklist and see how they do keeping it up.
Teaching Your Kids to Use the Homeschool Daily Checklist
If this is the first time you have used a homeschool daily checklist, it may take time for your kids to be able to use them independently. They may need practice, and for you to guide them through it a bit at first.
Soon, they will begin to appreciate the direction having a checklist gives them as they work through their day.
As you teach them the skills they need to use a checklist, you will love to see them become more independent and able to move from task to task unprompted.
- When you first start, add tasks that are manageable for your kids , so they can feel that sense of accomplishment when they complete everything. Keep time in mind too – you don’t want to add too many things that it becomes impossible to complete within your day.
- A good idea is to sit down and have your kids talk you through the checklist – let them explain to you what they will have to do to check off each item . This lets you know that they understand the expectations, and that the tasks you wrote are clear!
- Help your kids set goals , and maybe even a reward for finishing their homeschool daily checklist. Like I said, screen time/electronics is a big motivator for us, but it might be something different in your home.
Finally, make sure YOU take time each day to go over the checklist and actually check it! Make sure to hold your kids accountable to finishing their tasks; if they don’t think someone will check it, they will be tempted to cut corners (or not even use the tool).

Put the kids’ daily routine chart in a frame and your child can use dry erase markers to check off the boxes next to each task for the day.
This way you don’t have to keep printing out the routine sheet over and over.
You can also laminate it. If you don’t have a laminator, you can get self-laminating sheets that can be used without a laminating machine.
Some of the daily checklists also include printable check marks.
You can print them out, laminate them and put double sided tape on them so your child can place a satisfying green checkmark over the task they’ve completed.
Then they can be removed reapplied the next day.
At the end of the day you can wipe off the marker and start over the next day.

2024 NFL draft: Prospects, picks, rankings, stats, mocks
Jordan Reid names three running backs he likes in the 2024 NFL draft. (1:25)
The Chicago Bears are nearly on the clock at No. 1, kicking off the 2024 NFL draft . It will be the first of 257 total selections over a three-day period from Thursday to Saturday.
The big questions heading into the draft: Which quarterback will the Commanders take at No. 2? Will the Patriots trade the No. 3 pick or take a QB of their own? How many receivers will be taken in the first two rounds? Which teams could shake up the first round?
To get you ready for all the action, here is a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about the draft -- times, location, draft order, top prospects, rankings, mock drafts, stats to know and more. Read about the draft's best players , your team's pressing needs and how things might play out . Let's start with some of the basics.
ESPN Draftcast | Best available players
Where, when and how to watch the draft
The 2024 draft will be held in Detroit around Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza. Some of the players who will be on-site: USC QB Caleb Williams ; LSU QB Jayden Daniels , WRs Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr .; North Carolina QB Drake Maye ; Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr .; Washington WR Rome Odunze ; Alabama's EDGE Dallas Turner , CB Terrion Arnold and OT JC Latham ; UCLA EDGE Laiatu Latu ; Toledo CB Quinyon Mitchell ; and Missouri DL Darius Robinson .
What is the draft order?
There will be 257 picks in this year's draft. The Bears -- who acquired the pick from Carolina last year for the 2023 No. 1 pick -- have the first selection, while the Jets have the final spot to take Mr. Irrelevant . The Cardinals, Packers and Rams have the most picks in the draft with 11 each, while the Bears have the fewest with four picks (including two in the first round). The Panthers, Browns and Texans currently do not have a pick in the first round.
1. Chicago Bears (from CAR) 2. Washington Commanders 3. New England Patriots 4. Arizona Cardinals 5. Los Angeles Chargers 6. New York Giants 7. Tennessee Titans 8. Atlanta Falcons 9. Chicago Bears 10. New York Jets

How good is the 2024 draft class?
How you classify this draft is a matter of the criteria you prioritize. It's not often we see a group that is likely to include three quarterback picks to begin the proceedings, so that alone makes this a strong draft. Quarterbacks move the needle more than any other position in the sport, and there could be five or six taken in Round 1. Wide receiver and offensive tackle (two additional premium positions) also have great depth this year.
However, the overall depth of this class does not stack up to recent drafts, which in part traces back to several high-profile prospects opting to return to college given the existence of NIL . Particularly weak positions in this year's class include running back, tight end (beyond Georgia's Brock Bowers ) and safety. My opinion is that the quarterback, receiver and offensive tackle depth alone is enough to make this a rock-solid draft, though. -- Field Yates, NFL draft analyst
How do the prospects in this class rank?
Scouts Inc.'s top 10 prospects :

Booger McFarland and Mel Kiper Jr. debate whether Malik Nabers or Marvin Harrison Jr. is the best WR in the NFL draft.
Mel Kiper Jr.'s favorite prospects
Kiper, who has analyzed the draft for ESPN since 1984, recently released a list of his favorite prospects in the class -- at every position. Here's what Kiper wrote about Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright :
Wright made my list of risers after the combine , where he put up a 4.38-second 40-yard dash, an 11-foot-2 broad jump and a 38-inch vertical leap, all of which ranked close to the top at his position. He is a supreme athlete, and his tape matches that too. In 2023, he averaged 7.4 yards per carry, which ranked third in the FBS, and 4.1 yards after contact per carry, which ranked ninth. How did he have only four touchdowns? Wright hits the hole decisively, but I also love that he is a stellar pass-blocker. He can handle blitzers and play on third downs in the NFL. He caught only 30 passes in three seasons for the Vols, but he has the tools to develop as a pass-catcher. Wright is my second-ranked running back, but I projected only one back (Texas' Jonathon Brooks ) in the first two rounds of my latest mock draft , just based on the value of the position. I see Wright being picked early in Round 3 and making an impact as a rookie.

What to expect if your team needs a quarterback
This QB class could end up as the best of the past decade -- and I expect there to be around 11 signal-callers drafted this year. Williams is the presumed No. 1 pick, but the pecking order gets interesting after that point.
It's widely expected that Washington will stay at No. 2 and pick between Daniels and Maye. The Patriots at No. 3 have multiple options (including trading back), but they still have major question marks under center themselves. Whoever doesn't hear their name called at No. 2 between Maye or Daniels will likely be selected with the next pick. Other QB-needy teams such as the Vikings, Raiders and Broncos are also likely to be in the running for a QB in Round 1, perhaps McCarthy, Penix or Nix. The top six quarterbacks figure to be gone by midway into the second round.
For teams that aren't able to get a top quarterback early, Spencer Rattler (South Carolina) and Michael Pratt (Tulane) could be late-Day 2 or early-Day 3 picks. -- Jordan Reid, NFL draft analyst

Pre-draft buzz
What are our experts hearing in the rumor mill ahead of Thursday's draft?
Second tier of WRs : Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy is a sneaky favorite to be the fourth wide receiver off the board, according to conversations with NFL teams over the past week. He set a combine record (since at least 2003) with his 4.21-second run in the 40-yard dash, coming on the heels of three great seasons of production as a receiver and punt returner for the Longhorns.
With Harrison, Nabers and Odunze all expected to be drafted inside the top 10, Worthy's range starts at No. 15 with the Colts. They met with Worthy at the combine and then brought him back to the facility -- using one of the 30 slots each team is given to bring prospects to its facility for private meetings -- during the pre-draft process, according to team sources. The love for Worthy is real around the league, and I don't expect he'll have a long wait on draft night. -- Matt Miller, NFL draft analyst
Vikings' level of activity: Execs around the league are closely watching Minnesota, which has actively worked the phones leading into Thursday. I've spoken to multiple teams in the top 10 that say Minnesota -- which owns the 11th and 23rd picks -- has called about a potential trade up.
It appears the Vikings have a quarterback target in mind, and most teams think it's either Maye or McCarthy. But with no picks on Day 2, the Vikings will stay nimble. And maybe they decide to stay put, taking the best player available with one of their picks and the best quarterback available with the other. But they are prepared to do something. -- Jeremy Fowler, NFL national writer

Projecting the draft's top players.
Over the past couple of weeks, I've used metrics to predict how good players will be in their first five years in the NFL. Does the 2024 class of quarterbacks have multiple elite QBs in the mix? Why are teams facing a down year for running backs? Which receivers do the metrics project to be even better than Marvin Harrison Jr. ? And what pass-rushers should teams not want to face? All of those questions are answered in the position reports below, via ESPN+. -- Aaron Schatz, NFL analyst
