14 August , Independence Day of Pakistan

14th August, is our INDEPENDENCE DAY and it means a day when we had got freedom not only from our ruthless rulers but freedom from humiliation. At this day we got our own identity and our own valves. Pakistan came into being in 1947 as a sovereign state. 14th August is a day when, efforts of our national heroes are appreciated and celebrated and a day when we get our name and respect. Being Muslims we have our own values, traditions and religion. We Muslims celebrate this day with complete satisfaction and pleasure of being in a separate region where we enjoy freedom of living in every way. Pakistan is a democratic parliamentary federal Islamic republic state. Pakistan has its four provinces, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The day is a national holiday in Pakistan and is celebrated all over the country with flag raising ceremonies, tributes to the national heroes and fireworks taking place in the capital, Islamabad. President and prime minister delivers speeches and in the speech, the leaders highlight the achievements of the government, goals set for the future and in the words of the father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam, bring "Unity, Faith and Discipline" to its people. Day starts with flag raising ceremonies in the Capital city Islamabad and so in all major cities in Pakistan. March parade and exchange of guard’s ceremonies takes place on the Quaid-i-Azam’s mausoleum.

People of Pakistan, on this national holiday visit national monuments like MINAR-e-PAKISTAN which fully lit to commemorate the independence of Pakistan from the British Empire. At WAHGA-BORDER flag raising ceremonies takes place while everybody stands quiet and motionless in the honor of "NATIONAL ANTHEM" after that, military parade gets stars.

Names of people like Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Sir Syed Ahmad Khan are always written in golden words in the history of Pakistan. Muhammad Ali Jinnah also known as Quaid-e-Azam is the real founder of Pakistan. Allama Iqbal, with his enthusiastic poetry, motivated Muslims to think and earn their own nationality and name in the world. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, brought Muslim nation forward and made schools and colleges for Muslims so that they may come to know how to fulfill the latest demands of the advance age.

People gave sacrifices of their lives for independence because they could not follow Islam independently and could not perform their religious duties properly in sub – continent. They were punished or disturbed when they perform their religious duties. It offended Muslims but as they were weak nation, they could not do anything. Pakistan came into being after the sacrifices of countless lives. Many of our ancestors lost their lives only for the freedom of their imminent generations, for the sake of independent land where all the Muslims can offer their religious duties with their own wish and freedom.

As citizens of free Pakistan, we must reflect on the values and principles which were in the minds and hearts of those who fought and sacrificed for our freedom. They portrayed inspiration from the values nurtured in the country through ages. Now we are living as an independent nation, which is enjoying all the beauties, charismas of their own homeland. Being an independent and self-respective nation, it’s our duty to serve our country with our best. We should work whole heartedly and with complete devotion for the development of our beloved homeland, we should not forget the sacrifices of our ancestors and national leaders whole made this land happen as an unrestricted territory for us to live. It’s the time to work with that passion which was in the bloods of our national heroes who fought for our freedom; it’s the time for the strong commitment with us for the betterment of our holy land. We should not compromise on our integrity and would not let our freedom and integrity being used by other dominant powers in the world. At this independent day let we rethink about our plans, our actions and their outcomes. We all should pray at this day of best for our pious land and promise ourselves that we would not let any harm on it and will work for its defense till the day of our last breath.

Pakistan Independence Day – August 14, 2024

Pakistan Independence Day on August 14 could be considered a double day of liberation. Muslim Indians also fought to be free of British rule and later re-armed to battle for their own nation-state, present day Pakistan —  once part of the Indian subcontinent. After the British put down the Indian Rebellion of 1857, the Crown assumed full control during the British Raj period. This lasted until Pakistan’s independence in 1947.  The Mountbatten Plan split Pakistan (comprised of West and East Pakistan) from India, creating an independent Muslim nation. In 1971, East Pakistan gained its own independence, becoming known as Bangladesh.  Today, West Pakistan is known simply as Pakistan.

The main Independence Day ceremony ceremony is organized in Islamabad, where the national flag is hoisted at the Parliament and Presidency buildings. This is follow up by the national anthem and widely circulated and televised speeches by the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Pakistan Independence Day is a National Holiday in Pakistan.

2021 marks the 74th Independence Day for the country.

When is Pakistan Independence Day 2024?

“Unity, Faith, and Discipline” is the guiding principle and national motto of Pakistan. The country celebrates its Independence Day on August 14.

History of Pakistan Independence Day

The creation of Pakistan is an astounding one, and quite a unique occurrence in modern history. 

Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh were originally part of one giant territory called the Indian subcontinent. Ever since the religion of Islam was introduced and embraced in the subcontinent, peace was disturbed due to clashes and the oppression of Muslims by Hindus. To safeguard the Muslim minority, intellectual thought and philosophies were set into motion after the War of Independence in 1857.

The circumstances were not in favor of the Muslim community but, with courage and faith, the downtrodden Muslims residing in the subcontinent were successful in actualizing their dreams of freedom. In 1906, the All-India Muslim League was founded and, on October 1 the same year, the first delegation of 36 Muslim leaders presented their demand to the viceroy of India at Simla for a separate state for Muslims. 

The concept of Pakistan and liberation for Muslims would have remained a pipe dream, had it not been for one man’s superhuman efforts and struggle to make it a reality. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a barrister and politician, who later on became the father of the nation of Pakistan. Jinnah was the leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 onwards, until Pakistan’s independence. 

Allama Muhammad Iqbal was another visionary who propelled the idea of the separation of Muslims from India. In his presidential address on December 29, 1930, at Allahabad, Iqbal proposed the idea. The Allahabad Address is now revolutionary in history. The name ‘Pakistan’ first appeared in a pamphlet called “Now Or Never” in 1933. 

It was quite a big day in history. Prominent Muslim leaders from all over India attended the session, and there was finally a legitimate solution to the centuries-old struggle of Muslims to gain sovereignty and freedom. On February 20, 1947, the turning point happened when British Prime Minister Clement Attlee made an announcement to grant India complete self-governance by June 1948. After multiple consultations with the British government and Congress leaders, the last viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten, released the ‘June Plan.’

Both India’s Congress and the Muslim League welcomed Mountbatten’s plan. In July 1947, the British parliament introduced the Indian Independence Act. Separate provisional governments were established for Pakistan and India on July 20. Finally, the great subcontinent of British India was partitioned into the two countries of India and Pakistan on August 14, 1947. 

The partition was full of bloodshed and carnage. Since the inception of the idea of a separate nation for Muslims, Hindu brutality intensified and there was great opposition to Jinnah and the rest of the Muslim leaders’ ideas to create a sovereign identity for Muslims. Lineages and families were destroyed and tales of partitions are still collected and archived today.

Schools and universities arrange declamation contests, art exhibitions, national song recitals, and sports marathons to celebrate. Special programs are also scheduled for the observance of this day.  

The president and prime minister deliver special speeches, recalling the sacrifices of the nation’s forefathers who laid down their lives for the country. The district and local authorities actively plan and execute events to express patriotism and add colors to the day. Citizens participate in face painting, donning the country colors, dressing up elaborately, lighting fireworks, and celebrating all things Pakistan.

Today I am going to consecrate my words to my homeland in the form of a 14 August Speech in English for Pakistan Independence Day. “14th August” is the day of the Independence of Pakistan and the day to stand up together singing the national anthem and raising the sound proclaiming that ‘we are Pakistani’. Yes of course! This is a devotional day for all Pakistani nationals not only in Pakistan but also for those Pakistanis who are sitting in abroad countries. The reason is that Pakistan is our unique recognition on the map of the world. The reason is before the formation of a separate country for sub-continental Muslims; no one respects the real religious rights of Muslims. One of the big issues between Hindus and Muslims was the difference between their living styles, their rituals, their foods as well as their litanies. If Muslims use to eat cow meat the Hindus use to adore the cow. Muslims bow before Allah and Hindus bow before stones (Baghwan). Moreover, Hindus were superior in amount while Muslims were few and helpless. So in these hurdles, one man sees a dream of Independence and aims to make his dream come true. So, after a lot of effort and sacrifices, Pakistan came into being.

Sir Syed Ahmed Khan did a great job. Sir Syed advised Muslims to learn English so that the British can understand that they are not against them. He organized schools and colleges where Muslims were independently allowed to take admitted and study English. Afterwards, when Muslims got educated they were allowed to apply for jobs. Through this, Muslims were able to get jobs and it helped them a lot.

At the start, Muhammad Ali Jinnah was in supporting the narrative that the British should leave the country and give it to Muslims and Indians who can live here in peace. But later he realized that it is impossible for them to live together. So, he raised his voice for the separation of both nations and demanded the British to leave the country and before leaving, divide both nations and make two countries for them. Following continues hard work and sacrifices, Pakistan came into existence in 1947. On the 14th of August, a new country came into existence and it is called Pakistan. When it was announced that all the Muslims of Sub Continent will migrate from India to Pakistan, Hindus start killing them openly. But in the end, Muslims got their homeland.

• 2. For a Pakistani, 14th August is a date that gives us an identity, a day that makes us feel proud and a day that sums us all as a nation. Our Independence Day, is a day to cherish our liberty and to remember exactly the reason why this homeland was appeared on the map of the world. Pakistan, as its name suggests, was created to live pure lives that should be free from false and treacherous purposes. Freedom is a heavenly gift of God. Those who don’t have it can definitely define it in much better words than those who are enjoying liberal rights.
• 3. Everyone in Pakistan loves to celebrate Independence Day, in their respective ways. There were times (in early 50’s and 60’s) when passionate and patriot Pakistanis used to listen to the special radio broadcasts; and singers like Madam Noor Jehan and Mehdi Hasan used to sing national songs particularly penned and composed for the national occasion. There were times when (we as kids) used to watch Mustansan Hussain Tarar’s and Kishwar Naheed’s PTV’s special transmissions – that was early to mid 80’s. We used to watch dramas written by Anwar Maqsood and Ashfaq Ahmed, targeted to ignite the patriotic quotient is viewers. Media used to play a major role in mounting nationalistic feelings by producing skits, dramas and shows from every station including Lahore, Karachi, Peshawer and Islamabad.
• 4. Elders used to participate with kids on this day, by buying every kid their badges of Independence Day. Plus, they used to literally involve in arranging events in their compounds, areas and colonies where kids used to sing songs, do debates, recite ayahs and have sports competition etc. That was the time when flags and buntings were not majorly glued to cars or the main door of the houses only but from one flat to the other, from one bungalow to the other and from one street to the other every place used to be decorated with buntings and flags of different sizes.

I can remember at 8’o clock in the morning on Independence Day, there used to be pin-drop silence in the city and National Anthem used to be played on loud speakers from one end of the city to the other. Traffic used to stop for Two (02) complete minutes. Why! Because of the respect and love that we used to have for our motherland. Flag hoisting ceremony used to be telecasted with grand joy and involvement. In schools and colleges kids used to perform different group activities, targeted towards 14th August, with though provoking ideas.
• 6. As a Pakistani, it is our duty to celebrate 14th August to make our newer generation realize the importance of have a liberal lifestyle. We should transfer the knowledge shared to us from our parents, elder siblings and teachers regarding this auspicious and historic day. We should thank God for letting us open our eyes in a land that is free and unshackled. It is our duty as a nation as well as an individual, to pass righteous examples of kindness, loyalty and honesty to others. Building a better nation is in our own hands and we should celebrate 14th August with determination that by every passing year, we will make a positive difference, irrespective of the size, to make our homeland Pakistan the best country. Let’s strive together and make beautiful Pakistan a thorough Pure-Land.

Pakistan Celebrates the Birth of a Nation on August 14

Pakistan is celebrating its Independence Day on August 14, 2021 despite the COVID-19 pandemic. CPSC wishes its Pakistani colleagues a warm and auspicious commemoration of this event.

In the Islamic calendar, the day of independence coincided with Ramadan 27, the eve of which is regarded as sacred by Muslims. The main ceremony takes place in Islamabad, where the national flag is hoisted at the Presidential and Parliament buildings, which is followed by the national anthem, and live televised speeches by leaders. Usual celebratory events this day include flag-raising ceremonies, parades, cultural events, and the playing of patriotic songs. A number of award ceremonies are often held on this day, and citizens often hoist the national flag atop their homes or display it prominently on their vehicles and attire.

Celebrations

(Nationaltoday.com, 2021). Citizens of Pakistan celebrate Independence day zealously. The colors for the day are the green and white of Pakistan’s flag. The country’s flags are seen everywhere and fireworks displays are enjoyed. Flag hoisting ceremonies are held publicly and at private institutions across the country. Schools and universities arrange declamation contests, art exhibitions, national song recitals, and sports marathons to celebrate. Special programs are also scheduled for the observance of this day.

The president and prime minister deliver special speeches, recalling the sacrifices of the nation’s forefathers who laid down their lives for the country. The district and local authorities actively plan and execute events to express patriotism and add colors to the day. Citizens participate in face painting, donning the country colors, dressing up elaborately, lighting fireworks, and celebrating all things Pakistan.

Pakistan Independence Day: (  یوم آزادی ‎;  Yaum-e Azadi ), celebrate as a freedom day every year in Pakistan. On the historic day of August 14, 1947, Pakistan emerged as an independent nation, marking a momentous milestone in its history. This day is celebrated with immense patriotism and fevor as Pakistan’s Independence Day.

Before 1947 Pakistan and India are live to gather under the British government. After a long strike by Pakistan and India British government distribute in to  country and partition of India officially took effect. Pakistan Independence Day 2024

The Pakistan Movement help to differentiate Muslims and hidu peoples religions and cause to creating a separate Muslim state through distribution of North-Eastern and North-Eastern regions of India. The great personality Muhammad Ali Jinnah is lead this movement and make it successful.

It was passing through the Indian Independence Law Act 1947, which resulted in the convenience of the British Parliament, thus the new domain of Pakistan was recognised. However, as the demand for independence grew, divisions between different religious and ethnic groups became apparent.

Muhammad Ali Jinnah, a prominent Muslim leader, began to emphasize the distinct political and cultural identity of the Muslims in India. He believed that Muslims needed a separate homeland to safeguard their interests and practice their faith freely. This idea led to the creation of the All-India Muslim League and the eventual demand for a separate Muslim state.

The date of independence

After years of negotiations and political turmoil, the British Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act in 1947, which aimed to divide British India into two independent states – India and Pakistan. This historic legislation paved the way for the creation of the two nations based on religious lines.

On the eve of August 14, 1947, Pakistan emerged as an independent nation. The newly appointed Governor-General, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, gave his inaugural address, outlining the principles on which the new nation would be built. He emphasized religious freedom, equality, and social justice as the cornerstones of Pakistan’s identity.

The people of Pakistan rejoiced as the national flag was hoisted for the first time, symbolizing their hard-fought freedom. However, the celebrations were tempered by the massive challenges that lay ahead – the partition of the subcontinent had led to widespread displacement and violence between communities.

Independence Day in Pakistan is celebrated with great fervor every year. Starting from the early days of August, radio channels resound with the tunes of milli naghmay (patriotic songs), while various TV programs take center stage, shedding light on Pakistan’s history, culture, and remarkable achievements. Throughout the nation, beloved national anthems like “Dil Dil Pakistan” and “Jazba-e-Junoon” echo far and wide. Each year witnesses the release of new patriotic melodies that further ignite the spirit of patriotism.

The cinematic realm joined in the commemoration with the release of the film “Jinnah” in 1998, tracing the journey of Jinnah and intricately detailing the events leading up to Pakistan’s independence. This pivotal moment in history has been etched not only in film but also in a plethora of literary and scholarly creations. Works such as Khushwant Singh’s “Train to Pakistan,” Saadat Hasan Manto’s “Toba Tek Singh,” and Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre’s “Freedom at Midnight,” along with the poetic expressions of Faiz Ahmad Faiz, vividly capture the tapestry of events surrounding Pakistan’s independence.

Mumtaz Mufti’s autobiographical work, “Ali Pur Ka Aeeli,” chronicles the account of relocating his family from Batala to Lahore, encapsulating personal narratives within the broader historical context. Naseem Hijazi’s “Khaak aur Khoon” (Dirt and Blood) portrays the sacrifices of South Asian Muslims during the struggle for independence. The Pakistani drama serial “Dastaan,” adapted from Razia Butt’s novel “Bano,” masterfully weaves the narrative of the Pakistan Movement and the momentous occurrences that ushered in Pakistan’s freedom.

In July 1948, Pakistan Post unveiled four commemorative stamps to mark the inaugural anniversary of independence. While three stamps showcased iconic Pakistani landmarks, the fourth featured a symbolic motif. These stamps bore the inscription “15th August 1947,” a nod to the prevailing uncertainty regarding the precise date of independence. The year 1997 marked Pakistan’s 50th independence anniversary, and in celebration, the State Bank of Pakistan issued a special 5-rupee banknote adorned with the image of Baha-ud-din Zakariya’s tomb. This banknote featured a radiant starburst encircled by the words “Fifty Years Anniversary of Freedom” in Urdu, accompanied by the numerals “1947–1997.”

November 1997 witnessed the illustrious 1997 Wills Golden Jubilee Tournament, held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, commemorating the golden jubilee of independence. The final match of the tournament saw the Pakistan Cricket Board honoring living test cricket captains of Pakistan with a grand parade in horse-drawn carriages, culminating in the presentation of gold medals.

August 14, 2004, etched a grand spectacle in history as Pakistan unfurled the largest flag of its time, spanning an impressive 340 by 510 feet (100 m × 160 m). This monumental flag soared high, symbolizing the unwavering spirit of the nation.

Since 2011, the Google Pakistan homepage has been adorned with special doodles uniquely crafted with Pakistani symbols, a heartfelt tribute to Pakistan’s Independence Day. These doodles embrace the star and crescent, national monuments, vibrant colors, historical and artistic depictions, geographical landscapes, and other cherished national symbols. Facebook, too, extends its platform to Pakistanis, allowing them to share an independence day status adorned with the Pakistani flag icon or greeting users with a special message on their home page.

A very good morning to one and all present. Today, I’ll be talking about the 14th August Independence day.

What is special about this day? Independence day of which country? Why, this is the Independence day of Pakistan, just one day before India got its own independence on the 15th of August in the year 1947!

On this eventful day, Pakistan was declared to be an independent country with the efforts of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, its first governor-general. For the first time, it was recognized as a country separate from India and not as part of it after its long struggle. 

Pakistanis celebrate this day as the day they got a land to call their own, where Muslims could practice their religion freely. This day bears witness to proud Pakistanis with their white flags held high.

Jaguars stadium renovation deal will be announced Tuesday, City Council president says

The Jaguars and Mayor Donna Deegan have reached a deal for renovations of the stadium , City Council President Ron Salem announced Wednesday.

"The mayor reached out to me late yesterday afternoon to inform me that the executive branch and the Jaguars have reached an agreement on the stadium renovation," Salem said at the beginning of a joint meeting with the Duval County School Board Wednesday morning.

The mayor’s office and consultants have led the city’s negotiations since August and will present the proposed agreement to council at the next regular meeting on Tuesday.

“We have reached an agreement on the framework of a deal," Deegan said in a statement Wednesday. "The negotiating team is currently putting the final details on paper, and we will release that information as soon as it is available.”

Salem did not comment on what share the city could carry of the potential $1.4 billion renovation. 

"I do not know the specifics of this particular deal but look forward to engaging the council during the month of June as we move forward to review it," Salem said.

City Council will have to approve the deal over the next few months. The Jaguars, according to previous Times-Union reporting , hope to have a deal finalized by early summer in order to take it to the NFL owners meeting in October. 

The city will host a series of public meetings to discuss the deal, much like the Jaguars “huddles” last year.

The current lease for the Jaguars to use city-owned EverBank Stadium goes through the 2029 season. A major piece of the stadium renovation involves negotiations for a new 30-year lease.

The talks also have involved whether the Jaguars would play home games away from Jacksonville during the 2026 and 2027 seasons or just the 2027 season because of the extensive construction.

Deegan has said a key area for her is what the “community benefit” portion of the agreement would be for the Jaguars to support neighborhood improvement programs, such as in the Eastside neighborhood that is located near the sports complex.

Title :  Once Upon a Time: Stories About Generation 1.5 Immigrants’ Experiences with Cultural Wealth in the Transition from High School to Public State Universities

This qualitative study examined the stories of generation 1.5 immigrants’ experiences with cultural wealth in the transition from high school to public state universities. This study employed narrative inquiry design and consisted of in-depth interviews with 8 full-time undergraduates enrolled in bachelor’s degree programs in public state universities in the Northeast. This study of ethnically diverse immigrants who arrived in the States as children or adolescents consisted of two 1-hour private interviews. Community cultural wealth (CCW) (Yosso, 2005) provided the main conceptual framework for this study. The college choice process (CCP) (Hossler & Gallagher, 1987) provided a secondary, structural framework.

The results of this asset-centered study revealed that participants transitioned to a public state university supported by a unique cache of cultural wealth. Participants applied the six CCW capitals originating in their non-dominant communities—aspirational, familial, linguistic, navigational, resistant, and social capital (Yosso, 2005). However, their stories also revealed other forms of cultural wealth originating in their experiences growing up in two languages, places, and cultures. The data analysis suggested three emerging forms of capital specific to generation 1.5: a) agentic capital, b) capital braiding, and c) immigrant capital. This study contributes to the research on the assets generation 1.5 immigrants bring to the transition from high school to college and the research on public state universities, which have a historic mission of diversity and access. Additional research on the transition experiences and intersecting identities unique to generation 1.5 are needed to better inform supports for transition to college across all levels of public education.

ETSI’s annual flagship event on Cyber Security, the ETSI Security Conference,  will take place face-to-face from  14 to 17 October 2024,  in ETSI, Sophia Antipolis, France .   Save the date in your calendar not to miss this opportunity to Meet and Network with the Community! 

This exclusive face-to-face event will provide an exceptional opportunity for the security community to come together to exchange with experts, network with peers, and share facts and opinions around the most relevant subjects of cybersecurity standardization. The intensive 4-day programme will gather speakers from government agencies, other standards bodies, academia and various industry sectors. 

This year's event will address AI - Impacts of Regulation on Zero Trust and Consumer devices - Societal Impact of Technology-  Fraud, Security and Standards Convergence - 5G to 6G - Privacy and Considerations of Employing Encryption Technologies -Transport, Public safety and Critical Communications - Consumer verticals.

Note : Due to the high number of presentation proposals expected, we recommend to strictly submit your proposal within the announced deadline, as no extension will be granted.  Marketing / commercial speeches are not welcome. 

Proposal status will be provided by the end of June, as it is intended to publish a stable event programme in the course of July.

The presentations proposed should fit within the following sessions objectives: 

• Impacts of Regulation - Capturing European values in Technologies : The session will focus on impacts of regulation on products, innovation and technology. It will consider how EU regulation (e.g. AI Act, e-IDAS, RED, CRA, NIS2) and other regional regulations have shaped the global technology landscape. The session will also consider points of friction and gaps between aims of regulation and actual security improvements for products placed on the market.
• AI as a Technology / Platform : The session will consider AI security from the perspective of securing AI as a generic platform capability. The session will discuss latest challenges, threats, legislation and approaches to providing secure AI.
• AI "Verticals" / End Applications : The session will consider AI security from the perspective of securing AI as deployed in specific vertical applications. The session will discuss latest challenges, threats, legislation and approaches to implementing AI in specific vertical / end applications.
• Societal Impacts of Technology : This session will explore the societal impact of technology on end users and society. Topics including coercive control avoidance, Metaverse, protection of children, disinformation and protection vulnerable citizens will be discussed.
• Impact of Regulation - Zero Trust :  The session will explore latest developments, regulatory landscape and best practice for zero trust.
• Impact of Regulation - Consumer Devices:  :The session will explore impacts of regulation on consumer products and devices. It will particularly explore successes, failures, best practice and gaps. Focus areas to include IoT and automotive.
• Quantum Session:  The session explore latest developments in quantum algorithm selection, migration strategy, best practice, agility and other cryptography.
• Fraud, Security and Standards Convergence:  This session will explore where standards are being driven by fraud and where fraud is driving standards. The session will discuss how security and fraud prevention / detection can work more closely. Focus areas to include; 5G, PSD2, eSignature and e-payments.
• 5G to 6G Evolution or Revolution?  In early 2024 3GPP, ETSI and GSMA started the multi-year process of developing standards for 6G. While 6G won’t reach the market until ~2030, 2024 to 2026 with be the key years in which 6G architecture is standardised. This session will explore 6G challenges and opportunities from a security perspective.
• Privacy and Considerations of Employing Encryption Technologies:  Privacy by design has become a corner stone of all new information communication technology systems, devices and applications. However this and zero trust can also have negative consequences for security.  The session will explore the interplay between encryption technologies to support privacy requirements, versus the need to detect and mitigate threats, malware and other malicious attacks. This will include consideration for limiting the spread of disinformation.
• Transport, Public safety and Critical communications:  The session will explore security for Transport, Public Safety, Critical Industries and Critical Communications. Topics to include; Tetra replacement, FRMCS Rail, 3GPP SA6 work.
• Consumer Verticals:  The session will explore latest security best practice, challenges and gaps for consumer IoT and other smart devices.
