Majorities of adults who have a four-year college degree (61%), some college experience (66%), or a high school diploma or less education (66%) say they disapprove of Biden’s job performance. Ratings among those with a postgraduate degree are more evenly divided (52% approve, 47% disapprove).

Southwest Airlines is leaving four airports. Here’s what to know about them
Southwest Airlines announced this week it would cut service at four airports, including Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
On Thursday, during the Dallas-based company’s first-quarter earnings call, CEO Bob Jordan said Bush Intercontinental, Bellingham International Airport, Cozumel International Airport in Mexico and Syracuse Hancock International Airport weren’t “performing,” which ultimately was the deciding factor to end service on Aug. 4. It’s also implementing capacity reductions in both Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
All four of those airports have been added to Southwest’s destination map since 2020, with the three U.S. airports added in an attempt to expand the company’s reach when the COVID-19 pandemic limited demand.
“It’s never an easy decision to close a station or to materially reduce flights in a station,” Jordan said. “We love our airports. We serve our communities and so it’s always difficult.”
All employees who were affected by the four airports cut will be offered jobs elsewhere if they choose to stay with Southwest.
Here’s what to know about the four airports.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)
The Houston airport, located approximately 22 miles north of downtown Houston, has 26 airlines, according to its website. Those airlines fly to both domestic and international destinations.
Among those airlines are American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue Airways and United Airlines.
According to Cirium, Southwest flies to Dallas Love Field, Nashville, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando and Chicago-Midway from the airport.
Bellingham International Airport (BLI)
Bellingham International Airport, located three miles northwest of Bellingham, Wash., has four airlines: Southwest, Alaska, Allegiant and San Juan Airlines. San Juan Airlines flies to the San Juan Islands in Washington State. The city of Bellingham is about 90 miles north of Seattle and 14 miles south of the Canadian border.
Southwest flies to and from Denver, Las Vegas and Oakland, Calif. at Bellingham, according to Cirium.
Cozumel International Airport (CZM)
Cozumel International Airport , officially known as Aeropuerto Internacional de Cozumel, is located on the island of Cozumel in Quintana Roo, México.
Cozumel has direct flights from 15 airports across three countries. American operates the majority of these flights. Airlines at Cozumel are Aeroméxico, Air Canada, Air Transat, American, Delta, Southwest, Sun Country Airlines, United, VivaAerobus, Volaris and WestJet.
Southwest flies to and from Austin-Bergstrom and Houston-Hobby to Cozumel, according to Cirium.
Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR)
Syracuse Hancock International Airport located in central New York offers nonstop service to 30 destinations, according to its website. Airlines at Syracuse Hancock include: Allegiant, American, Breeze Airways, Delta, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest, Sun Country and United.
Southwest flies to and from Baltimore, Orlando and Tampa at Syracuse Hancock, according to Cirium.

Job seekers, businesses make meaningful connection at Fort Pierce job fair
FORT PIERCE — The city of Fort Pierce, in collaboration with CareerSource Research Coast, brought together local job seekers and employees during its ninth annual job fair Jan. 24 at the Havert Fenn Center.
The event brought in people from St. Lucie, Martin and Indian River counties.
About 618 job seekers engaged with 88 employers, creating a dynamic platform for networking and recruitment. The job fair showcased the commitment of Fort Pierce and CareerSource to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, supporting the community's workforce development.
The Treasure Coast High School Air Force Junior ROTC color guard added a patriotic touch to the event by presenting the colors and delivering a stirring rendition of the national anthem by Cadet Technical Sargeant Maloney. An early entrance opportunity was provided to past military to further support veteran job seekers, allowing them to connect with employers 30 minutes before the general admission.
Christina Coble, business services manager at CareerSource, welcomed the businesses and introduced Fort Pierce Mayor Linda Hudson. City commissioners Arnold Gaines and Curtis Johnson Jr. shared their thoughts of the event's importance to the community. Brian Bauer, president/CEO of CareerSource, further highlighted the collaborative efforts and commitment to the community's prosperity.
"Connecting job seekers with employers for purposeful jobs and careers is at the heart of what we do," said Dawn Riccardi, business navigator for CareerSource.
In addition to the impressive employer turnout, 18 nonprofit community partners joined the event to offer valuable services to job seekers. These partners provided support beyond job placement, addressing various needs that individuals may have during their job search journey.
"This event not only facilitated job placement but also exemplified the community's commitment to the overall well-being and growth of its residents,” Bauer said.
CareerSource Research Coast is a private, nonprofit, Florida corporation with a board of directors consisting of private businesses, economic development and education representatives, community and state agencies, and elected officials.
Board members represent the diversity of businesses, organizations and trades that operate in Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie counties. Florida chartered CareerSource to create and manage a workforce development service delivery system responsive to the needs of businesses and job seekers. Foreign states targeting sensitive research at UK universities, MI5 warns
Ministers considering more funding to protect important research sites, with China seen as a particular concern
MI5 has warned universities that hostile foreign states are targeting sensitive research, as ministers consider measures to bolster protections.
Vice-chancellors from 24 leading institutions, including Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London , were briefed on the threat by the domestic security service’s director general, Ken McCallum, and National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC) chief, Felicity Oswald.
In addition, the UK government is looking at increased funding to improve security at sensitive sites. Oliver Dowden, the deputy prime minister, announced plans for a consultation on a package of measures that could include looking at key university personnel being given security clearance and a strengthened process to improve the transparency of funding, particularly with foreign institutions.
The measures will be focused on a small proportion of academic work, with a particular focus on research with potential dual uses in civilian and military life.
McCallum told the vice-chancellors that hostile states are targeting universities to steal technology that can “deliver their authoritarian, military and commercial priorities”, the Times reported.
The government ordered a review of protections for higher education in its refreshed foreign and security policy last year amid concerns that hostile states – and particularly China – were gaining undue influence over the sector.
Dowden has previously warned that some universities’ reliance on overseas funding could leave them open to being “influenced, exploited, or even coerced” by a foreign power.
After the security briefing, Dowden said: “For a millennium, our universities have thrived on being open – open to ideas, open to innovation, open to being independent of government.
“This is not about erecting fences, this is about balancing evolving threats and protecting the integrity and security of our great institutions.”
The consultation will explore proposals to protect cutting-edge technology under development in sensitive sectors that are being targeted by states intent on stealing intellectual property to enhance their own economic and military capabilities.
The NCSC and the National Protective Security Authority have also launched a tool to help universities assess their research security.
Michelle Donelan, the science and technology secretary, said: “I believe that universities are on the frontlines of a battle for information.
“Maintaining the UK’s world-leading reputation as an academic superpower relies on having strong safeguards to protect research from those who wish to do us harm.”
Tim Bradshaw, chief executive of the Russell Group of leading research universities, said: “Russell Group universities take their national security responsibilities incredibly seriously and already work closely with government and the intelligence community to help protect UK breakthroughs in fields like AI, which are important to our national interest.
“But we also recognise security is a dynamic and evolving challenge which means we need the right expertise and intelligence to keep pace with this.”
Universities UK chief executive Vivienne Stern said: “For several years, Universities UK has worked with government to ensure that universities are supported and equipped to recognise and mitigate risks to national security.
“This is important and necessary, and we welcome the government’s approach to working hand in hand with us to get the mechanisms right.”
