Unstoppable Movie Review: Nonstop Headache

Nandamuri Balakrishna's talk show "Unstoppable" gained immense popularity. Now, a film with the same title has been released, featuring VJ Sunny, who rose to fame on Bigg Boss, as the lead actor.

Let us analyze the film and its merits.

Story: Childhood friends Kohinoor Kalyan (VJ Sunny) and Jilani Ramdas (Saptagiri) engage in gambling and end up losing their parents' money.

To help them out, their friend Shakalaka Shankar decides to transfer the funds to their account. However, due to Kalyan's intoxicated state, he mistakenly provides the wrong account number. This leads them to cross paths with a criminal named Khadar, as the money gets deposited into his account.

Artistes’ Performances: VJ Sunny, a TV actor, plays the main character in this film. He tries to act like a mass hero, but he lacks any skills. Throughout the film, he wears one or two expressions that clearly state his lack of acting skill.

Saptagiri, his friend and the film's second lead actor, attempts to carry the film on his shoulders.

Pruthvi, Posani, Bittiri Satti, Chamak Chandra, Raja Ravindra, and other actors perform random comedy sequences in the film. The 'glamour part' is handled by Nakshatra and Aksa Khan.

Technical Excellence: The less we discuss the technical aspects, the better. Bheems, who has recently delivered some hit songs, serves up loud tunes. The cinematography and editing are both poor.

Analysis In comedies, we don't seek logic, nor do we expect a great story. However, we do want jokes that genuinely make us laugh without sounding silly or stale. We also look for some coherence in the narrative, a sense of semblance.

Diamond Ratnababu is credited with writing the story, screenplay, dialogues, and directing the film. Unfortunately, there is no trace of freshness in any of these aspects. While Saptagiri's antics and a few jokes manage to elicit laughter, the rest of the episodes are tedious.

Ratnababu tries to create comedy scenes out of every social media meme, viral post, and popular Reel, resulting in a movie that feels like a series of viral posts on the big screen.

With an extremely thin storyline, Diamond Ratnababu attempts to hold our attention for over two hours, but we feel restless even before the interval. The songs and item song are equally torturous.

In summary, while Balayya Babu's "Unstoppable" is an entertaining show, Ratna Babu's "Unstoppable" is a non-stop headache.

What Is the Film About?

Kohinoor Kalyan (VJ Sunny) and Jilani Ramdas (Sapthagiri) are best friends running a Youtube channel, Unstoppable. Their mindless act leads to a considerable loss of money and forces them out of their homes.

After asking out multiple people, Kalyan and Jilani finally get the required amount to get out of trouble. However, a silly mistake puts them in far bigger danger than they could have imagined. What is the error, and how do they get out is the movie’s basic plot.

Performances

VJ Sunny and Sapthagiri play the lead in the movie. Among the two, VJ Sunny has the more heroic part, whereas Sapthagiri sticks to his strength of comedy.

Sunny looks good physically but is a hit-and-miss when it comes to the big dialogue delivery focusing on heroism. The romance, too, is barely passable. Sapthagiri is fine as usual, delivering the punches in his typical style. The lack of over-exposure works to his advantage as we see nothing new from him, but don’t mind the act.

Nakshatra and Aqsa Khan are the female leads in the movie. They don’t have a significant role in carrying the narrative forward storywise. But they come in handy in other ways for fun. Nakshatra works in parts as eye candy, whereas Aqsa Khan does well in action sequences. Apart from those bits and some comedy, there is nothing much to talk about.

Diamond Rathna Babu provides the story, screenplay, and dialogues besides directing the movie. Unstoppable comes with the caption Unlimited Fun, which seems to be the sole motto rather than having a proper story.

Right from the opening, the direction in which Unstoppable – Unlimited Fun is headed is clear. The objective only seems to be to entertain, come what may, with one gag followed by the other and endless quirky characters in the process.

The heroes’ names are already known, Kohinoor Kalyan and Jilani Ramdas; well, they are just the tip of the iceberg. We have Ilakatmaflia Baba, Balanagar Balakka, Gnanavel Raja, Honey Babu, Tyre, Thilakam and so on. If only the same effort had been put into the script that is kept on coming up with those names, the movie might have ended up better.

More than all these, the major issue is the gags themselves are not funny and primarily full of double entendres. They should have been avoided. The screenplay is messy, and the whole thing looks chaotic.

The fun is not silly and over the top, besides having the double entendres. The characters and various sub-threads keep popping up occasionally, which is why a sense of tiredness creeps soon despite the short run time. The interval stretch is a perfect example in this regard.

Things don’t change post-interval too. More characters and threads are introduced just for fun sake. Some of it, like the one involving Thilakam (Raja Raveendra), feels okay, but even it lacks the proper mixing in the narrative.

By the time one reaches the end, one simply doesn’t care about the proceedings. Everyone looks for it to be done with the whole thing as soon as possible. There is a twist in the tale towards the end, which is the biggest casualty due to all the nonsense that precedes it.

Overall, Unstoppable – Unlimited Fun is a nonstop assault on the senses in the name of fun. If one surrender to the low-brow ness, there are a few fun moments, but they are not enough. It ends up as a forgettable messy fare with no redemption value.

Performances by Others Actors

The movie is full of character actors we usually see in comedy flicks. Raja Raveendra easily stands out among the many due to his decent characterisation. Bittiri Satti follows him but gets irritating and repetitive soon. Posani Krishna Murali and Raghu Babu do their usual. Pruthvi, Shakala Shankar and Chammak Chandra are wasted. The rest appear in bits and pieces roles.

Music and Other Departments?

Bheema Ciciroleo provides utterly forgettable music. The background score feels better comparatively, but only because it can’t get any low further. A couple of music bits seem inspired by recent popular BGM’s. The cinematography adds to the tackiness, whereas the editing leaves a messy feel. The writing is low-brow with many double-meaning dialogues.

ఇక ఈ సినిమాలో లైన్ లోకి వస్తే..కోహినూర్ కళ్యాణ్(విజె సన్నీ) అలాగే జిలాని రామదాస్(సప్తగిరి) తన చెల్లి పెళ్లి కోసం దాచుకున్న డబ్బుని ఓ క్రికెట్ బెట్టింగ్ లో అయితే పోగొట్టుకుంటారు దీనితో డబ్బులు కోసం తమ మరో ఫ్రెండ్ హనీ బాబు(షకలక శంకర్) సాయం కోరగా తను పొరపాటున ఆ డబ్బులు జ్ఞ్యానవేల్ రాజా అలియాస్ ఖాదర్ కి ట్రాన్స్ఫర్ చేస్తాడు. తీరా కట్ చేస్తే ఈ ఖాదర్ ఓ పేరుమోసిన డాన్. మరి ఈ పరిస్థితి నుంచి కళ్యాణ్ జిలానీలు ఆ డబ్బులు ఎలా రాబట్టుకుంటారు? జిలాని తన చెల్లి పెళ్లి చేశాడా లేదా అనేది మిగతా కథ.

ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్ :

రీసెంట్ గా ఏటీఎం సిరీస్ లో కనిపించి మెప్పించిన వీజే సన్నీ ఈ చిత్రంలో కూడా మంచి నటనతో అయితే ఆకట్టుకుంటాడు. తన లుక్స్, డైలాగ్ డెలివరీ బాగుంది. అలాగే తన కామెడీ టైమింగ్ సహా కొన్ని మాస్ షేడ్స్ సినిమాలో బాగున్నాయి.

ఇక తన ఫ్రెండ్ గా నటించిన సప్తగిరి తన మార్క్ కామెడీ తో ఆకట్టునే ప్రయత్నం చేసాడు. అలాగే పెర్ఫామెన్స్ పరంగా కోడోత్ మంచి నటన కనబరిచాడు. ఇక మిగతా నటులు పోసాని బిత్తిరి సత్తి లు కూడా తమ వరకు నవ్వించే ప్రయత్నం చేశారు. అలాగే సినిమాలో మ్యూజిక్ కొంచెం ఇంప్రెసివ్ గా అనిపిస్తుంది.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ సినిమాలో పెద్దగా కొత్త కథేమీ కనిపించదు పరమ రొటీన్ లైన్ నరేషన్ లు అయితే కనిపిస్తాయి దీనితో చాలా వరకు సినిమా బోర్ గానే అనిపిస్తుంది. అలాగే సినిమాలో చాలా మంది పాత్రలకి డిఫరెంట్ పేర్లు కామికల్ గా ఎదో ట్రై చేసారు కానీ అవేవి అంతగా వర్కవుట్ అవ్వవు.

ఆ నవ్వు తెప్పించని కామెడీ సీన్స్ సినిమా క్యాప్షన్ కి సంబంధం లేకుండా అనిపిస్తాయి. ఇంకా మెయిన్ గా సన్నీ సప్తగిరి లనే ఎక్కువగా హైలైట్ చేస్తూ వచ్చినట్టే సినిమాలో మిగతా పత్రాలు హీరోయిన్ కూడా పెద్దగా ఇంపార్టెన్స్ లేకుండా పోతుంది. ఆమెతో పాటుగా చాలా పాత్రలు సినిమాలో ఇంకా బెటర్ గా డిజైన్ చేయాల్సింది.

అలాగే విలన్ కి హీరోలకి మధ్య మెయిన్ కాంఫ్లిక్ట్ పాయింట్ కూడా బెటర్ గా ప్రెజెంట్ చేసి ఉంటే కాస్త కారణభూతంగా ఉండేది. ఇక వీటితో పాటుగా సినిమాలో ఆర్టిస్ట్ లు మాట్లాడే దానికి అలాగే మనకి వినిపించే మాటలు గాని ఎక్కడా సింక్ కూడా ఉండవు. ఆ రేంజ్ లో ఉంది ఈ సినిమా.

సాంకేతిక వర్గం :

ఈ సినిమాలో నిర్మాణ విలువలు పర్వాలేదు. భీమ్స్ మ్యూజిక్ పర్వాలేదు. సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ కూడా ఓకే అని చెప్పొచ్చు. ఇంకా ఎడిటింగ్ లో అయితే కొన్ని అనవసర సీన్స్ తీసేయాల్సింది. ఇక దర్శకుడు డైమండ్ రత్నబాబు ఆకట్టుకునే ఎంటర్టైనర్ చేయడంలో మెప్పించలేదు. ఈ సినిమాలో ఎక్కడో ఒకటి రెండు కొన్ని కామెడీ సీన్స్ మిన్నగా పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఎంటర్టైన్ చేసేలా తాను తీర్చి దిద్దలేదు.

ఇక మొత్తంగా చూసినట్టు అయితే కామెడీ ఎంటర్టైనర్ అంటూ వచ్చిన ఈ “అన్ స్టాప్పబుల్”. కామెడీ తక్కువ బోరింగ్ ట్రీట్మెంట్ తో ఆడియెన్స్ సహనాన్ని పరీక్షిస్తుంది. ఎక్కడో ఒకటి రెండు సీన్స్ తప్ప సినిమా అంతా బోర్ గానే ఉంటుంది. ఈ వారాంతంలో ఈ సినిమాకి స్కిప్ చేసేయడమే మంచిది.

Diamond Ratnababu is trying hard to make a mark as a director and is back with his new film Unstoppable. The film starring VJ Sunny and Saptagiri has been released today. Read the review here.

Kohinoor Kalyan (VJ Sunny) and Jilani Ramdas (Saptagiri) are two childhood friends who are not serious in life. They gamble with their parents’ money and one fine day, lose 20 lakh in IPL betting. Upon this, when the time comes to repay the money, they send it to the wrong account thereby bringing massive problems in their lives. How these two friends come out of their problems is the basic story of Unstoppable.

Performances

VJ Sunny plays a mass role and he is good at it. Though he went overboard in many scenes, he has a decent screen presence and made full use of it. It is good to see Saptagiri back in comedy roles and here he speaks a new accent and manages to hold well. His chemistry with Sunny is quite good in the film. Posani Krishna Murali’s role is cheap and over the top. Aksa Khan and her special song were good. Raja Ravindra and Nakshatra, who played the female leads were just okay in their characters.

Technicalities

Diamond Ratnababu’s story is as silly as it can get. There is no story in the film and the writer penned a few comedy scenes and then weaved a story around it which falls flat on its face. The music by Bheems Ceciroleo is not that great as none of the songs make any impact. However, the cinematography is quite good in the film. The editing is pathetic as so many scenes could have been chopped off. The rest of the technical aspects are not worth mentioning here.

When young directors in Telugu cinema are making films with solid content, here is one film which ticks all the boxes wrong. Such comedies used to work in the era of EVV Satyanarayana but not anymore. Well, it is hard to even compare EVV with Diamond Ratnababu as his writing and direction are both pathetic in Unstoppable.

Just by having a solid title of Unstoppable, one should not think he has half the game won. Instead, he should work on the story and execution. Unstoppable has hardly any story and banks only on comedy which fails to connect one bit. The film is riddled with silly scenes that it is hard to make a count of them after a point. There is absolutely no seriousness in the film and the blame should go on Diamond Ratnababu for thinking the audience would love such a slapstick comedy.

The narrative is so loud that you look at the exit door to wonder when the film is going to end. There are a few tongue-in-cheek humor moments that are good but that is also marred by some silly scenes which have no depth in them. The emotions go for a toss and there is not a single episode that connects to the audience. The sheer arrogance with which Ratnababu unleashes one character after the other without any purpose only irritates the audience further.

In today’s time when there is much available in terms of reels and social media jokes, Unstoppable lands a badly made film that has nothing going it’s way. The director gave his phone number and requested the audience to call him if they do enjoy the jokes. Well, looking at the film, it is better that Diamond Ratnababu hides his phone and he himself goes into hiding.

Verdict- Unbearable

Unstoppable, the latest youthful entertainer, featuring VJ Sunny and Saptagiri in lead roles, has been making a good buzz for some time now. The film has been released today, and let’s see how it has turned out to be.

Chicha (VJ Sunny) and Macha (Saptagiri) work with a woman (Aqsa Khan). They are YouTubers. Their life is a smooth ride until they squander away a good chunk of money owing to an IPL betting stint. The bout of betting gives them jitters. They have to move heaven and earth to get back that much money within a stipulated time. Otherwise, their elders are going to abandon them.

The plot throws a twist when they have to get back Rs 20 lakh from a feared don. In their attempt to get back the money, they bump into a number of idiosyncratic characters.

On-screen performances:

The film is heavy on the casting side. Many new-era comedians are featured but none of them makes a mark. VJ Sunny’s acting has no major highs. Emotional scenes suit him more than comedy. Saptagiri needs to get back his mojo.

Posani Krishna Murali is back to doing those ‘Amma Amma’ faces. Nakshatra is seen as a silly Instagram-obsessed influencer named Time Table Tulasi. Aqsa Khan doesn’t share any chemistry with the lead men. Bittiri Satti and Prudhviraj have been wasted in ill-written parts. Raja Ravindra, Raghu Babu, Shakalaka Shankar, Chammak Chandra and others are part of the cast. Strangely, only the first of those characters is funny to an extent. The rest of them are noisy. Vikramjit is seen in a negative role. A lot of comedians are there for the sake of it. They fail to make the gags work.

Off-screen talents:

The music by Bheems Ceciroleo is partly good and mostly bland. Venumuralidhar V’s cinematography and SB Uddhav’s make some debatable decisions owing to budgetary constraints. The film was never expected to be technically respectable, considering that director Diamond Ratnababu’s previous film, ‘Son Of India’, was a disastrous experiment of sorts.

Plus Points:

• Casting, to an extent.

Minus Points:

• Outdated jokes.
• Loud dialogue delivery.
• Inadequate use of situations.
• A stretched-out cilmax that never ends.

The film is made to look like a Rohit Shetty universe where teeming characters overcrowd the plot. Only a few directors have been able to deal with such a sub-genre of comedy. Madcap comedy is not everyone’s cup of tea.

Big Boss 5 title winner VJ. Sunny came to entertain movie lovers with his film titled, Unstoppable. The film’s title generated interest, as it is named after Balakrishna’s blockbuster talk show Unstoppable. Co-starring noted actor Sapthagiri in a key role, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it fares.

Story: Unstoppable story is about two childhood friends who lead a happy life spending the hard-earned money of their parents and how they face life when confronted with problems. Kohinoor Kalyan (VJ Sunny) and Jilani Ramdas (Saptagiri) lose huge amounts due to betting on IPL. They face the wrath of their family members and in order to recover their lost money, they try various means.

Will they be able to regain their lost money and how Swathi (Nakshatra), Apple (Aqsa Khan), Tilakam (Raja Ravindra), Police Officer Vitthal (Posani Krishna Murali), Sarangapani (Raghu Babu), Ilakatamafiya Baba (Prithvi), Honey Babu (Shakalaka Shankar) are connected to it, forms the crucial crux.

Performances: Cashing in on the craze of his Big Boss reality show, VJ Sunny did this film. He played the lead role. He is okay with his antics but he came up with a singular expression. One gets a feeling that he tried to actors by copying their mannerisms rather than following his own style.

He is fine with his dance movements in a couple of songs. Saptagiri who attained fame as a comedian, later started doing lead roles but he is failing to make any impact. Saptagiri tried to attract viewers with his Telangana accent mixing it with Muslim mannerisms but he just looked ordinary.

Nakshatra who played one of the lead roles got the looks her role turned out to be silly. Aqsa Khan did a special song to entertain viewers.

There are many other well-known comedians in the film. All got inconsequential and silly roles. Posani Krishna Murali and Raja Ravindra tried to attract with their comedy but they failed to do so. Especially Posani’s comedy looks cheap and obscene. 30 Years Prithvi, Bithiri Satti, Raghu Babu, Chammak Chandra, and Lirisha irritate the audience with their stale and routine so-called comedy which tested the patience of the audience.

Technicalities: Unstoppable story of Diamond Ratnababu offered nothing much. In fact, he did not come with any story and banked only on the silly comedy scenes. The comedy scenes turned out to be stale and routine. Only if someone reminds the audience that this is a comedy scene and they should laugh, you barely put a smile on their face. They have a sigh of relief when the first half ends and those who haven’t rushed to the exit doors in the first ten minutes will run away from the theatres. Those who step in for the second half expecting better entertainment will be in for a shock. The narration turns from worse to pathetic and each and every scene drags to the core and there is one dialogue that asks the hero, not to have a dream song. This saves the viewers from additional burdens.

However, the director did not leave the viewers and included an item song making them feel that they are sitting on the thorns and not on the cushions. Diamond Ratnnababu’s narration has no story and the less we talk about the screenplay and direction the better for everyone. Finally, it is not entertainment but ill-treatment in the name of entertainment.

Uddhav, the editor of the film got nothing much to do. As the film lacked the real story and director Ratnababu depended only on comedy scenes that failed to click, he just sat at the editing table just going through the motions.

The cinematography of Venu Muralidhar is just okay as he tried to pass the test and it turned out to be a difficult outing for him. The same is the case with the music director Bheems Ceciroleo. None of the songs are worth mentioning and BGM follows the same pattern.

Dialogues are pretty ordinary and at times turned out to be indecent and have a double meaning. Production values of A2B India Production are average.

Analysis: Unstoppable turns out to be utterly ridiculous. It is an insult to the intelligence of the movie lovers. Writer cum director Diamond Ratnababu, roped in Big Boss fame VJ. Sunny and cast various comedians and named the film Unstoppable and tried to ride on the brand value of Balakrishna’s Unstoppable show.

If anyone gets drawn to the theatres following the title, they are in for relentless and ruthless torture. The film is not even worth a youtube reel and considering all these aspects. Right from the start till the finish, silly scenes pop up in the narration and viewers will be gasping for breath.

To summarize, Unstoppable is a poorly made comedy-drama that has neither good comedy scenes nor drama is impressed the audience. All we suggest is that skip the film during the weekend and look for better options available.

Verdict: Unstoppable torture!

Aranmanai 4 Box Office Collection Worldwide (After 13 Days): Surpasses Dhanush’s Captain Miller To Become Second Highest-Grossing Tamil Film Of 2024!

With only one competitor remaining, all eyes are now on aranmanai 4 as it aims to dethrone ayalaan and become the undisputed king of tamil cinema in 2024..

Aranmanai 4 refuses to slow down! The horror-comedy has become an unstoppable force at the box office, surpassing the lifetime collections of Dhanush’s Captain Miller to become the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024.

Earning an estimated 1.50 crore on its second Wednesday, Aranmanai 4 has raked in a whopping 47.90 crore net collection (approximately 56.52 crore gross) in just 13 days. The film has dominated the domestic market, collecting a staggering 32.1 crore in its first week and an impressive 15.79 crore from Day 8 to Day 13. With Day 14 figures yet to come in, analysts predict the film will close its second week with collections reaching 18 crore .

Starring Sundar C, Tamannaah Bhatia , Raashi Khanna, and Yogi Babu, Aranmanai 4 has resonated with audiences not just in Tamil Nadu, but also across India. The film boasts a strong 43.66 crore collection from the Tamil box office, complemented by an additional 4.24 crore from Telugu markets.

The international box office hasn’t been spared either, contributing a significant 14.25 crore to the film’s total. With a worldwide gross collection currently at a monstrous 70.77 crore , Aranmanai 4 has dethroned Dhanush’s Captain Miller. Captain Miller previously held the record for the 2nd highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024 with a collection of 67.99 crore .

However, the ultimate challenge remains—can Aranmanai 4 surpass the box office king this year, Ayalaan? With a collection of 76.41 crore , Ayalaan currently holds the title of the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024.

With its phenomenal performance so far, Aranmanai 4 has a strong chance of achieving this feat in the coming days.
