Abstract. Substantially revised and reorganized, this fourth edition of International Trade Law: Cases, Problems, and Materials (2022) takes full account of the revolutionary developments in this field of law stemming from the U.S. boycott of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the extensive use of tariffs by the Trump administration.

The first two topics cover the "bedrock" principles of international trade law: market access (covering tariff barriers, quantitative restrictions, non-tariff barriers, and some services-specific market access considerations); and non-discrimination (as between domestic and imported goods; and between imported goods from different sources).

Donald McRae is Professor Emeritus at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is the former Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Yearbook of International Law and has published widely on international law including the law of the sea and international trade law. He has been counsel in several international fisheries and boundary arbitrations and has appeared before the International Court of Justice.
