Using Valentine's Day Stories

Before we get to the writing prompts, let's take a moment to discuss how and why you may want to write a Valentine's Day-themed story. After all, it's good to have an idea of what you want to accomplish with any given story, even if that's just challenging yourself with a new writing activity.

As an indie author, your fans can make or break your career. Keeping them happy is always a good idea. And if you throw them a unique freebie from time to time, they're more likely to stick around and support you as your career progresses.

Since Valentine's Day comes around every year (on February 14th, in case you were wondering), you can use a writing prompt below to craft a story to give to your readers. This doesn't have to be a full novel. It can be a novella or even a short story. And the nice thing about it is, you can always send it again next year to readers who've signed up to your email list since last Valentine's day!

Format Beautiful Professional Books

Easy to use, and and full of amazing features, you can quickly turn your book into a professional book.

As mentioned above, romance readers are among the most dedicated of all the genres. If they like you, they'll devour your stuff. And that includes books that are out of season. So if you use a prompt below to kick off and then publish a Valentine's Day-themed novel, chances are it will still sell outside of February .

But it will also have the added benefit of being seasonally relevant. With the right marketing , you'll probably see an uptick in sales around Valentine's Day, making it a win-win for both you and your readers.

Sometimes we get stuck in a creative rut. It happens to the best of us. Maybe writer's block is rearing its ugly head. If so, the best way to push through it is to keep writing! And that's certainly what you can use the following Valentine writing prompts for.

You don't have to take them literally. Let them inspire you. Get your ideas and creative juices flowing. Pick one and use it as a story starter and see where it takes you. Who knows? It may spark an entire series of books that will launch your career to the next level!

While many of these prompts mention certain genders, they are only designed as placeholders. You can use them no matter how the characters in your story identify!

1. Write a story about a nonverbal character professing his love for another character only through the use of candy hearts.

2. Explore a relationship between two characters that starts as plutonic but then morphs into something much more, taking both characters by surprise.

3. Write an epistolary story of a romance only through the Valentine's Day cards the two characters have given each other over the years.

4. Explore two characters helping each other realize that their previous ideas of true love were actually more about lust and ego than love. Luckily, they come to this realization together and finally experience true love with each other.

5. Write about two teachers at an elementary school who are secretly in love with each other but are too shy to do anything about it. A small group of students can plainly see what's going on, so they hatch a plan to get the teachers together—on Valentine's Day.

6. Start off your story with a love letter from one character to another. But this isn't just any love letter. It's one the character writes only after she learns that she's dying.

7. Write a fantasy romance story about a magical character named St Valentine whose job it is to get people to fall in love. The only problem is, St Patrick, the Easter Bunny, and even Santa are trying to thwart him at every turn.

8. Write a story about a depressed man on Valentine's Day. He is head-over-heels for his best friend, but he thinks she doesn't like him that way. That is, until he starts gorging himself on conversation hearts. Instead of the normal messages on the hearts, they say things to urge him on until he finally asks the woman out.

9. Write a story about a character learning the importance of self-love on Valentine's Day.

10. Write about a creative writing teacher who spends her spare time writing and selling poems for Valentine's Day cards—but she can't seem to find the right words for the person she loves.

11. Start your enemies-to-lovers romance story with the words, “Happy Valentine's Day, you jerk!”

12. A Valentine's Day party gets a little out of hand for two co-workers. When they wake up the next day, they both know they've made a terrible mistake . . . or have they?

13. Not every Valentine's Day story has to be about romantic love. Write a story in which two unlikely characters come together and form a strong friendship, bonding over their hate of Valentine's Day.

14. Write about two divorced characters with kids who learn to make time for each other after they find that falling in love isn't as easy as it used to be. But, they soon realize, a little effort makes their burgeoning relationship flourish.

15. Start off your story with a really sappy poem written by one character about another. Include as many personal details about the characters as you can in this character exercise writing prompt.

16. Write a love story that starts with cookies and hot chocolate on a cold February day.

17. Explore how a simple act of kindness can be a thousand times more powerful than anger or hate. Allow one of your characters to touch another's heart through this kindness, changing both their worlds for the better.

18. Write a story about a single Valentine's Day card that changes a woman's life forever.

19. A man who always wanted to have kids but never did. A woman who has more kids than she can handle. They may just be perfect for each other—but only if he can win over the hearts of her children.

20. Write about two college students in fierce competition with each other falling in love.

21. Write about a character whose new year's resolution is to take the year off dating. She soon meets someone who is seemingly perfect for her—but she refuses to date him so she can stick to her resolution.

 22. Write an acrostic poem, in which the first letter of each line spells out a phrase or word. This is a great creative writing prompt to get the creative juices flowing.

23. Write about two characters meeting and falling in love during a fun activity their respective friends drag them to.

24. Write about a time traveler who has to keep coming back to February 14th to find out why the course of history was changed that day. And why she keeps seeing the same man in different places each time she comes back.

25. Write about a man getting dumped on Valentine's Day. At first, it seems like the worst thing ever. But as the day progresses, it becomes clear that it's the best thing that could've happened to him.

26. Write a romantic comedy in which one character goes all-out with romantic gestures to try and win their partner back after a breakup.

27. Explore two characters who meet during speed dating on Valentine’s Day. At first, neither one of them really feels the spark, but they end up going out together just because. And as they each come out of their respective shells, they fall for each other.

28. Write about a character who gets a mysterious invitation to a Valentine’s Day party, only to find that the billionaire who invited her did so by accident.

29. Valentine’s Day is the worst day of the year for your character. She decides to stay inside, no matter what. But the universe conspires against her, and she ends up meeting the love of her life.

30. A couple goes on vacation for Valentine’s Day even though they’ve both given up on the relationship. But when they get stranded in the wilderness and have to actually talk to each other again, they find that the love is still there.

14 Valentine's Day Writing Prompts on a white card with brown envelope

Valentine's Day has a complicated history depending on who you ask. It's been called a celebration of a martyr, a festival heralding a coming spring, and a holiday for lovers.

But you don't have to frame it as a romantic holiday to have fun with one of the writing activities below.

Valentine's Day Writing Prompts

1. Describe a perfect gift and what makes it perfect for you. (Bonus if you can describe the perfect gift for someone else too!)

2. If you could throw an amazing Valentine's Day party, who would you invite and what would you do?

3. Write about a happy memory from a past Valentine's Day.

4. Imagine you're in a long-distance relationship. How could you celebrate together from far away?

5. If you owned a neighborhood flower shop, what top three flowers would you specialize in and why?

6. Imagine you opened a counter where people could exchange their bad gifts. Write a story of one such exchange.

7. If you could celebrate Valentine's Day with one famous person (or one special person), who would it be and why?

8. Write cards to people in your life who have helped you recently or just because you're thinking of them.

9. What is your favorite music to listen to when you've suffered a broken heart and why?

10. Imagine you find your perfect partner only to realize they aren't what they seem. What happens?

11. Write about your favorite holiday treats: a box of chocolates, conversation hearts, a piece of chocolate cake, creme brûlée, whatever you love.

12. What are the non-negotiable in any romantic relationship? Why are those qualities so important?

13. Imagine you're handed six paper hearts and you can only write one word on each to tell a friend how much you appreciate them. What do you write?

14. What is the most beautiful gift you've ever received that could not be bought in a store?

Bonus: Write a fictional history of Valentine's Day, including how it should be commemorated now.

10 Writing Prompts for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a day for heart-shaped chocolates and flowers. Use the colorful surroundings and decadent smells as the muse for your writing and find inspiration in the love around you! In celebration of this day of affection, here are some Valentine’s Day writing prompts to inspire your creativity and spark ideas for stories that go beyond the ordinary.

1. Love Letters Through Time

Imagine a world where love letters transcend time and space. Write a story where characters exchange heartfelt letters across different eras, exploring the enduring power of love through the ages. Will they ever meet, or will their love remain eternally inked on the pages of history?

2. Love Potions and Concoctions

Dabble in the mystical and magical by creating a world where love potions are real. Explore the consequences, both humorous and heartwarming, as characters accidentally sip a potion or intentionally brew one to win someone’s heart. Will the effects be everlasting, or is true love more potent than any enchantment?

3. Love in a Digital Age

Bring love into the 21st century by exploring the dynamics of modern relationships. Write a story centered around characters navigating love in the age of social media, dating apps, and virtual connections. Will technology enhance or complicate matters as they seek to find love in a world that’s constantly connected yet increasingly isolating?

4. Love Beyond the Binary

Challenge the narrative! Write a story about a same-sex couple celebrating their love on February 14th, facing societal pressures or navigating family expectations. Or create a character who rejects the whole concept of romantic love, finding fulfillment in friendship, self-love, or creative pursuits. Show the diversity of human connection and break down the walls of conventional romance.

5. The Love Detective

Introduce a character who has a unique ability to see and solve love-related mysteries. Whether it’s rekindling old flames or helping shy admirers confess their feelings, follow the adventures of this love detective as they navigate the complexities of other people’s relationships while grappling with their own romantic challenges.

6. Love in Unexpected Places

Challenge the conventional notions of love by placing your characters in unexpected settings. Write a story where love blossoms in unconventional places—a library, a laundromat, or even a grocery store. Explore how these seemingly mundane locations become the backdrop for extraordinary love stories.

7. Cupid’s Revenge

A mischievous twist on the holiday legend. What if Cupid, tired of the mushy nonsense, decides to wreak havoc with his arrows? Imagine a comedy about a group of friends unwittingly matched by Cupid’s misfired arrows, leading to disastrous dates and hilarious romantic faux pas. Or delve into a darker tale where Cupid’s arrows bring out people’s deepest insecurities and jealousies, turning Valentine’s Day into a chaotic nightmare.

8. The Language of Flowers

Delve into the Victorian tradition of expressing emotions through the language of flowers. Craft a story where characters communicate their feelings through carefully chosen blooms. Explore the nuances of this floral dialogue as characters exchange bouquets with hidden meanings, revealing their hearts in a unique and beautiful way.

9. Valentine’s Day Time Loop

Create a narrative where Valentine’s Day repeats itself in a time loop. How do characters react to reliving the same day over and over? Will they make the same choices, or will they discover new possibilities for love and connection each time the clock strikes midnight?

10. The Love Detective

As you consider these Valentine’s Day writing prompts, remember that love is a vast and varied tapestry, offering endless possibilities for storytelling. Let your imagination soar and allow the spirit of Valentine’s Day to infuse your writing with passion, humor, and unexpected twists. For more content on romance novel writing, check out this post .

Happy writing, fellow authors, and may your stories be filled with love!

No Love Story Is The Same: 7 Unique Valentine's Day Writing Prompts

No Love Story Is The Same: 7 Unique Valentine's Day Writing Prompts

With Valentine’s Day drawing near, it is a perfect time to write a romantic story. However, even with the most romantic day of the year drawing near, it could still be a bit tricky to get started.

vday - get started writers republic

Here is some great Valentine’s Day writing prompts to get you started.

1. Love beyond Death

There is a saying that love has the ability to transcend death. So why don’t you try using this concept in your writing prompts. If you’ve seen movies like Ghost or The Corpse Bride, you would notice that a lover has died.

However, because of their enduring love for one another the deceased lover cannot pass on to the next plane of existence. This is a worthwhile prompt because there is a sense of melancholy in the love affair, however, there is also a slight hint of optimism that the two lovers will reunite in the next life.

2. Forbidden Love

The star crossed lovers concept is a commonly used one. This makes sense because it is a very intriguing and spicy one. To write about forbidden love is to pit your lovers against the world.

The obstacles in their way might seem insurmountable, but that’s what makes the love story so intriguing. These obstacles might be their families opposing the romance, a difference of religion or ideology, or a war between their two countries.

If you are going to use this prompt, it is best that you highlight the main obstacles to their love affair, and show the reasons why they are attracted to one another. If you just have their romance happen out of the blue, it won’t seem realistic and feel forced.

3. Love on Borrowed Time

Have you ever tried writing about a love story, where one of the lovers is suffering from a fatal illness? This type of love story is an intense one.

The contrast between the lover’s intense devotion to one another, and the threat of impending death is a very bitter pill for most readers to take. Which makes this prompt so much more unique and interesting to write about.

Just make sure that you make the illness a realistic one. Refrain from making a fictional disease because it will seem too contrived.

Don’t overdo it with the dramatics because it might feel cloying and cheap. Keep things subtle, and highlight the fact that both lovers know that their romance is on borrowed time, so they are making the most out of it.

4. Romantic History

If you want to add some realism to your romance, you could try writing historical romance. The key to writing a historical romance is that you choose the right historical period.

For example, you are writing about Victorian-era London. Add certain details about the period, and incorporate some of the customs into your work.

When it comes to writing a historical romance, research is key. Most fans of this genre are very picky about details, and if you are careless with your research you might end up annoying them.

So before you set out and write your historical romance, take the time to double-check all of your sources. It might be a bit tedious, but it is a lot better than having potential readers at your neck because of historical inaccuracies.

5. Opposites Attract

The opposites attract trope entails you to write about two people who are polar opposites of one another. However, despite their differences, they were able to fall in love with one another. One great example of this is the beauty and the beast trope.

One of the lovers is popular and attractive, while the other is anti-social and strange looking. The two don’t really mix in the same social circles. However, due to some unique circumstances, they were able to meet and form a connection with one another.

This is a very popular prompt, and a lot of writers use it. However, you could make it more unique by tweaking it a bit.

6. Self-Destructive Love

Although emotional and physical abuse should never be condoned in any love story, there is still something very intriguing about self-destructive love. This type of love is one that is heading nowhere.

Both lovers know that their romance is flawed, and there are just too many things that are going against them. One of the lovers might be suffering from great emotional pain or an addiction, and each and every day their relationship is getting chipped away.

This type of love story is intriguing and tragic at the same time. As the reader, you know that their romance is self-destructive from the beginning, but as the story starts to uncover, you still hope against hope that they will be able to get through it.

When you write your characters, you should make sure that even if they are flawed, they should still be likable and relatable. This could be a bit tricky to write about, but the emotional effect on your readers will be worth it in the end.

7. Young Love

Of all the types of love stories, there is nothing more refreshing than young love. There is a sense of newness and innocence in young love. The bloom of first love is a beautiful one.

The young lovers are not yet tinged by the bitterness or cynicism that time puts on all of us. They are just learning how to love, and there is a sense of joy and excitement that is both heartwarming and melancholic.

It is heartwarming to most readers because it gives them a sense of nostalgia about their own first romances. It is melancholic as well, because first loves are fickle and fleeting, and they will be eroded by the passage of time.

Even if Valentine’s Day is a great day to write a romantic story, it could still be a bit difficult to get started. With these great Valentine’s Day prompts, you’ll be able to start on the writing process with little to no fuss.

Valentine’s Day Writing Prompts

An illustrated purple and white graphic that reads romantic story prompts for valentine's day

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner which makes it the perfect time to start writing all those mushy love stories everyone is craving. Today, I’m going to share a variety of Valentine’s Day writing prompts to help jump start your next romantic story.

Valentine’s Day Story Starter Prompts

These prompts are just like they sound. They’re meant to spark a bit of inspiration in order for you to start a new story. It doesn’t matter if you create all new characters for your story, write a fanfiction story or write a story within a universe you’ve already created. All that matters is that you sit down and write something.

Here are a few Valentine’s Day themed story starters:

  • A hopeless romantic has to spend Valentine’s Day alone.
  • Your characters find an unsent love letter.
  • A group of people go to a haunted house on Valentine’s Day.
  • A meet cute at an arcade.
  • Your character experiences platonic love.

💡 Tip: Don’t feel too restricted by these prompts. If your story starts taking a turn away from the prompt just go with it. The important thing is they get you writing.

Valentine’s Day Writing Prompts: A Day in the Life

These prompts are meant to get you thinking outside the box. They’re designed to make you think specifically about what a certain person might feel about Valentine’s Day. How does the day affect them? Do they celebrate it or ignore it? Write a short story following that person through Valentine’s Day.

Here are a few different types of people you could write about :

  • Divorce Lawyer
  • Divorced parent
  • A bartender

If these don’t seem too inspiring, try out the Random Person Generator for more ideas.

💡 Tip: Try writing about an existing original character. Seeing how your character reacts to Valentine’s Day can uncover a ton of information about them.

But make it romantic story prompts

These prompts are again designed to get you to push your creativity and think outside the box. Take something that isn’t typically romantic and then make it romantic. I love these prompts because they’re so varied they can be about anything from popular culture references to basic everyday scenarios, objects or places. And some of them are harder than others and make you dig real deep to come up with something good.

Here are a few examples

An attic but make it romantic. An intervention but make it romantic. A bank robber but make them romantic. Moving day but make it romantic. A pie but make it romantic.

If none of these are sparking any inspiration. Try the Random Scenario Generator . Just type in the names of a couple, generate a scenario and then add “but make it romantic”.

Other helpful generators:

Object Generator Place Generator Person Generator

💡 Tip: Some of these prompts are hard. Be patient with yourself when working with them.

Whether you’re writing a romantic comedy, romance novel or a fluffy fanfic, I hope these Valentine’s Day Writing Prompts have inspired you to write something.

Journaling is a fantastic way to explore your emotions and express yourself . Journaling can help you process and reflect on your experiences and feelings in a way that writing a regular journal entry might not.

When we journal, we may feel freer to write without the pressure of having to come up with a topic or produce a finished entry. A journal prompt is a suggested topic to get your creative juices flowing when you don’t know what to write about.

You can use journal prompts to help you explore your emotions, thoughts, and feelings on a variety of topics. Whether you’re journaling with a partner or keeping a journal as a way to process your thoughts and emotions, journaling can be a great way to strengthen your bond with others. Journaling can help you process your thoughts and feelings in a way that can be both therapeutic and self-explorative. It can help you explore your emotions in a way that a conversation might not.

Reflections on Your Relationships

No relationship is perfect, but that’s what makes them so special. They are filled with challenges, joys, and sorrows. They are imperfect and real. Reflecting on your past relationships can be a great way to explore your feelings and thoughts on love.

If you are in a relationship it can be also great to see how your previous relationships have affected your current ones, see if something is repeating or if there is something you do not like and wish did not repeat in your current or future relationships.

Journaling prompts could include:

Reflections on What Love Means to You

Love is a word that we use frequently, but there are many different types of love. Reflecting on what love means to you can be a great way to explore your feelings and thoughts on this concept.

You can love and it can be in many ways and intensities. If you have a previous history of a bad memory of love this is great to reflect on what happened. How you give love and how you want to receive love in your present and future.

  • What does love mean to you?
  • What kind of love do you most identify with?
  • What type of love do you wish you could receive more of?

Exploring Your Feelings About Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to love, but it often generates feelings of stress and pressure. In fact, many people experience feelings of anger and anxiety about Valentine’s Day.

This holiday is often associated with buying gifts, planning special dates, and expressing your feelings through gifts and cards. It can also mean to you a day when you feel lonely or do not enjoy the marketing around it and that is ok. But do you dislike the holiday or just something it reminds you of?

  • Why do you feel the way you do about Valentine’s Day?
  • Why do you feel the way you do about gifts, cards, and other expressions of love on this day?
  • How do you feel about the pressure associated with the idea of Valentine’s Day?
  • What do you love about Valentine’s Day?
  • What do you hate about Valentine’s Day?

Writing About Your Ideal Valentine’s Day

Reflecting on your ideal Valentine’s Day can be a great way to explore your feelings and thoughts on love. This can be from a relationship perspective or just a self-love celebration. You can celebrate with your friends and family or alone and still enjoy the day. What is really important to you?

  • What would you wear on this date?
  • Who would you go on this date with?
  • What would be the most romantic thing someone could do for you on Valentine’s Day?
  • What gift would you most love to receive on Valentine’s Day?

Writing About What You Love Most About Yourself

When we focus on loving others, it’s important to remember to love yourself, too. It can be annoying hearing all the happy couples around you make plans when you do not have someone to share the day with.

You do not have to be in a relationship and reflecting on that can be eye-opening in your perspective of yourself and love. Journaling about what you love most about yourself can be a great way to explore your feelings and thoughts on self-love.

  • What do you love most about yourself?
  • How do you know that you love yourself?
  • What are your strengths?
  • What are your weaknesses?
  • How do you cope with your weaknesses?

  • How do you show love to yourself?
  • What do you think would make you love yourself more?

Exploring Your Feelings About Connecting With Others

Love is a connection. Journaling about your feelings and thoughts on connecting with others can be a great way to explore your feelings and thoughts on love. How you share your time and what is important to you when you share your love with others.

  • What do you love most about connecting with others?
  • What do you hate about connecting with others?
  • What do you wish others understood about connecting with you?
  • What would make it easier for others to connect with you?
  • What would make it easier for you to connect with others?

Write About a Time When Love Surprised You

Love is amazing, it really does not matter if it is with someone or just yourself. Think about being loved and loving someone brought you joy and surprises you in a lovely way. I know that love can come in many ways and can come when less expected.

  • When did you realize that you loved someone?
  • When did you know that your feelings for someone were more than just a crush?
  • When did you discover that you truly loved someone?
  • When did you feel the most loved? When did you feel least loved?
  • When did you feel like love surprised you?
  • When did love surprise you in a good way?
  • When did love surprise you in a bad way?

Write About a Time When Love Disappointed You

Loving can suck sometimes. You may have given too much or just did not receive what you needed. It hurts and is the least favorite part of being vulnerable but it is part of being human. Take some time to see what have been the moments you did not enjoy love and what did you learn from those experiences.

  • What was the worst thing a partner ever did to you?
  • What was the worst thing someone ever said to you?
  • What was the worst way anyone ever let you down?
  • What was the worst way someone ever broke your heart?
  • What was the worst thing a friend ever did to you?
  • What was the worst thing a friend ever said to you?
  • What was the worst way a friend ever let you down?
  • What was the worst way a friend ever broke your heart?
  • What was the worst way a friend ever killed your vibe?

Exploring Your Feelings About Disappointment

You’ve probably felt disappointed in your relationships at some point in your life. You’ve probably felt disappointed in your friends, your family, and your partners. Journaling about your feelings and thoughts on disappointment in your relationships can help you see your expectations in your relationships and what can be done to grow from those bad experiences.

  • What was the most disappointing thing a partner ever did to you?
  • What was the most disappointing thing a friend ever did to you?
  • What was the most disappointing thing a family member ever did to you?
  • What was the most disappointing thing a stranger ever did to you?
  • What was the most disappointing thing a teacher ever did to you?
  • What was the most disappointing thing a boss ever did to you?
  • What is the most disappointing thing that has ever happened to you?

Free Creative Writing Prompts #77: Valentine's Day

You'll love these free creative writing prompts as much as you love February 14th, the wonderful holiday known as Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day can be the most amazing holiday in the world if you're on good terms with your significant other, the most awkward holiday ever if you're on bad terms with your significant other and can be downright excruciating if you're between significant others. There is no question that this holiday has become extremely consumer-driven as it allows local and chain stores to push pink and red memorabilia as soon as the new year begins. Deep down, however, the holiday can lead to a lot of love and togetherness for many people as they spend their time eating brunch.  Free Creative Writing Prompts: Valentine's Day

1. What is the most memorable Valentine's Day you've ever experienced? Describe the day from beginning to end, including what you felt, what you did and who you were with. Remember, "memorable" does not mean it was necessarily good or bad, it just means that it is deeply imbedded in your mind!

2. You have decided to prove your love with an amazing display of affection and gifts during a Valentine's Day celebration with your significant other. What do you get your love for the holiday and what do you have planned out to sweep your paramour off his or her feet?

3. If you could create a card for Valentine's Day, what would it say and why? What kind of demographic do you think would like it the most? Would you ever give this card to someone you care about in particular and why or why not?

4. The early origins of Valentine's Day had nothing to do with romantic love and the holiday didn't change to include love until the times of Geoffrey Chaucer and courtly love. Imagine that you had the ability to change what multiple holidays actually celebrated. What holidays would you change and why? How would their celebrations change?

5. With your love out of town for Valentine's Day, you have been tasked with cheering up your single friends during the holiday. What do you do to pep up those who are unlucky in love and how do these lonely folks react to you in your attempt to bring independent cheer?

6. In what feels like a plot out of a bad movie, you have been visited by apparitions of all your past partners, who are trying to collectively teach you a lesson about love. Why have they come now and what is the lesson they might want to instruct you in? Will you learn it or continue to go on about love as you always had?

7. As an arrow goes whizzing by your face, you drive to the ground and hear what seems like a toddler laughing. It's Cupid! Not only is this baby of love real, but he wants to grab a bite to eat with you to talk about love. What do you and Cupid talk about and what is he like in real life?

8. You have been tasked with creating the ultimate Valentine's Day playlist for a big holiday dance at a local group you belong to. What are some of the biggest hits about love you add to the list? What are the reactions like to your loving music selection?

9. Some guys and girls simply don't have a clue when it comes to Valentine's Day. What are some of the worst gifts you've ever heard being exchanged on this pink and red holiday? Can you think of any gifts that would be even worse? What reactions might these gifts provoke?

10. How would you explain Valentine's Day to an immigrant from another country who'd never before experienced it? What aspects of the holiday might this person think quaint, strange or downright ridiculous?  Done with Free Creative Writing Prompts about Valentine's Day? Go back to Creative Writing Prompts.

Moscow has lots of wonderful parkland areas, each offering their own unique characteristics and charm. Gorky Park, Izmailovo Park, Tagansky Park and Hermitage Park are four which will be well worth a visit on St. Valentine’s day.

Christmas lights will still be illuminated at St. Valentine’s day and so will immediately provide a warming and romantic backdrop to your evening with a Russian lady. Each park will also have its own Valentine’s events with DJs, live music, retro bands and much more taking place at parks across the city.
