Alabama State University's new Mechanical Engineering degree in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics can help you fulfill that dream.   Mechanical Engineering is the most diverse of the engineering fields, impacting almost all aspects of our lives and embracing many areas of specialization.  It plays a role from the buildings in which people live and work, to the cars that they drive daily, to the food that they eat and the tools they use to cook their food.  “Receiving a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering could be the most rewarding accomplishment a student will ever   achieve ,” said  Dr. Audrey Napier, dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.“ The   ASU   program   instills   a broad-based set of skills and knowledge that serves the needs of major sectors of the modern economy including manufacturing of consumer goods, the automotive industry, the energy sector, and the defense sector.” Graduates from the program can enter the   engineering workforce as design engineers, project engineers, manufacturing engineers, research and development engineers, or quality control engineers. “Our innovative program offers workforce-relevant coursework that can expand your career opportunities in industry, government or academia,”   said Dr. Derrick Dean ,  director of the Biomedical Engineering program.   Students will study under experienced authorities and thought leaders who understand what it means to succeed in the changing landscape of Mechanical Engineering, because they’ve already done it. “Alabama State University’s Mechanical Engineering program can prepare students to become a leader among leaders,” Napier added.
