As part of Pokémon Go Fest 2023: Global , there’s new Special Research that focuses on Diancie and Mega Rayquaza for players who bought the Go Fest 2023 ticket.

On Saturday, players were able to claim Diancie Special Research and on Sunday they were able to start Mega Rayquaza Special Research. Players who did not buy the Go Fest ticket do get access to a shorter Special Research set that rewards a Meteorite, but does not give as many rewards as the paid research. You must complete the regular “Sky High” research in order to unlock the paid version. Since these are Special Research Tasks and not Timed Research, they are available permanently once you unlock them, so you can take your time completing them.

In order to do the research below, you have to buy a Pokémon Go Fest 2023 pass for $14.99. If you did not buy it, Diancie will be available to you at a later date, but you’ll have to wait.

All Pokémon Go Fest 2023 Global Research tasks and rewards

While Pokémon Go Fest 2023 Global is bigger than the in-person events based on sheer number of players participating, Niantic has shifted some content around to make it unique. This did result in some Special Research being highlighted while some other research was removed. 

The main point of the Go Fest Global Special Research is to give players access to various exclusive bonuses if they purchase an event ticket. This includes the first chance to catch Diancie and rewards tied to Mega Diancie and Mega Rayquaza. 

This version of the Diancie Special Research is different to how it was back during the in-person Go Fest content in Osaka, London, and New York City—mainly because players aren’t going to be limited to where they can be at specific hours of the day. So if you need to complete everything to do with Go Fest Global, here are all of the relevant research tasks, rewards, and additional event bonuses.

• Remote Raid Pass usage limit removed until Aug. 27 at 11:59pm local time
• Pokémon will appear more frequently even when stationary after using Incense
• Increased Shiny odds
• Up to six Special Trades are available each day
• Access to a special 7km Egg Hatch pool
• Up to nine free Raid Passes for spinning Gym Photo Discs per day

The Pokemon GO Fest: Global has added plenty of Field Research Tasks for players to complete – and there are some great rewards to earn!

GO Fest: Global is the biggest in-game Pokemon GO event of the year, so it makes sense that there will be a load of new Field Research Tasks to complete. However, there are even more than usual!

This is because each of the four rotating Pokemon habitats on August 26, 2023 have exclusive Field Research Tasks.

Spinning a PokeStop at a certain point during GO Fest: Global in Pokemon GO could give you an event Field Research Task.

2023 GO Fest: Global Field Research Tasks

These Field Research Tasks are active for the whole of August 27, 2023, during GO Fest: Global and can be obtained at any time from 10 AM – 6 PM local time:

Quartz Terrarium Field Research Tasks

The following Field Research Tasks can be obtained by spinning PokeStops during the Quartz Terrarium habitat during GO Fest: Global. This will be active from 10 AM – 11 AM and 2 PM – 3 PM on August 26.

Pyrite Sands Field Research Tasks

The Pyrite Sands Field Research Tasks can be picked up by spinning PokeStops from 11 AM – 12 PM and 3 PM – 4 PM on August 26.

Malachite Wilderness Field Research Tasks

The following Malachite Wilderness Field Research Tasks can be obtained by spinning PokeStops during GO Fest: Global from 12 PM – 1 PM and 4 PM – 5 PM on August 26.

Aquamarine Shores Field Research Tasks

The following Field Research Tasks can be obtained by spinning PokeStops during the Quartz Terrarium habitat. This will be active from 10 AM – 11 AM and 2 PM – 3 PM on August 26.

Once you pick up a Field Research Task, you can complete it at any time. However, you’ll want to finish as many Field Research Tasks as you can during GO Fest: Global!

Fortunately, on August 26 of GO Fest: Global, you can pick up a new Field Research Task from a PokeStop every hour! This is instead of just once per day.

Go Fest Global research tasks are a time limited series of quests available in Pokémon Go to coincide with Pokémon Go Fest in Yokohama and the latest Global Challenge dates .

These tasks are available at PokéStops, replacing some of the current roster of monthly Research Tasks currently available.

Go Fest Global research task rewards explained in Pokémon Go

The Go Fest Global tasks are live in Pokémon Go from August 6th as part of the latest Global Challenge , introducing new spawns as well as special Research Tasks.

These Go Fest Global tasks are available until August 12th, 9am BST / 1am PST , although tasks can be completed and rewards can be claimed at any point after that if you've picked up the task before the event ends and keep hold of it.

What else do you need to know about Go Fest Global research task rewards?

First of all - all the above Pokémon have the potential to be Shiny, and though not knowing exactly which one at a glance you'll get isn't great for completionists, it's good to know there's a chance you could get something really valuable from it.

There is, however, a way to know what the Go Fest research task reward is. Though offering a Pokémon from a pool instead of one known creature is new for research, it should be known that the Pokémon given from that specific tasks and PokeStop is the same for everyone.

This means, if you know someone who has collected a Lotad from one of the above tasks, everyone else will do too until the end of the day, when the task will reset as usual. (Thanks to azurelatios on reddit for confirming this!)

On the second day, players can encounter all the habitat monsters in the wild. The Developers at Niantic have smartly woven these habitats into the Global Fest 2023 Field Research quest.

All Pokemon GO Global Fest 2023 Field Research Tasks and Rewards

Pokemon GO players can access multiple Research quests during the Global Fest 2023 , one of which is the Field Research quest. The Global Fest Field Research quest offers multiple tasks and rewards and is segmented into two categories. One can partake in the regular Field Research quest, and there is also a segment that features different Habitat monsters. During this event, one can gather new Field Research from PokeStops hourly, even if players have already completed research at the same PokeStop.

Our Asia region host city for Pokémon GO Fest 2023 is Osaka, Japan! Osaka is hosting a GO Fest event for the first time. We can’t wait to bring GO Fest adventures back to Japan!

Kicking off the second weekend of Pokémon GO Fest 2023 is our New York City event! Join thousands of Trainers from all over the world and experience all the Big Apple has to offer!

After exciting weekend events in London, Osaka, and New York City, Pokémon GO Fest 2023 is going worldwide! Pokémon GO Fest 2023: Global is a virtual, ticketed event that Trainers can participate in wherever they play—some features will also be available to Trainers without a ticket.

Join millions of Trainers from around the globe in the largest Pokémon GO event of the year, and get ready for an amazing adventure right in your own backyard!

Trainers who purchase a ticket to one of the in-person GO Fest events can also purchase a ticket for GO Fest 2023: Global.

Tickets are available now in the in-game shop for $14.99 USD.

Ready for Raid Battles!

Trainers around the world can now start Raid Battles more quickly by using the Ready button! Just tap the button in the raid lobby when you’re ready to start. When all Trainers have indicated that they’re ready, the lobby timer will count down from 10 seconds. The Ready button will appear when there are at least two Trainers in the lobby. If a raid reaches full capacity—20 Trainers—the timer will be reduced to a 10-second countdown so everyone can get to the Raid Boss more quickly!

We hope this enables Trainers to take on more of their favorite Raid Bosses!

Carbink will make it’s global debut during Pokémon GO Fest 2023: Global. Ticket holders can encounter Carbink from Incense during the event.

Carbink will appear in Field Research encounters and Raid Battles for all Trainers during the global event on August 26 and 27!

Global Challenge Arena

During each habitat hour on Saturday, ticket-holding Trainers around the world will be able to work together to complete a challenge! If the challenge is completed in time, a special bonus will be unlocked for the remainder of the hour for ticketed Trainers!

Plus, if Trainers complete 20 challenges successfully, they will activate this year’s Pokémon GO Fest Ultra Unlock bonuses!

If a Challenge is completed, the following bonuses are unlocked for the remainder of the hour for ticketed Trainers.

Incense Encounters

For ticket holders , certain Pokémon will be attracted to Incense—excluding Daily Adventure Incense—during event hours. Shiny Unown M will make its global debut after appearing during the Pokémon GO Fest events in London, Osaka, and New York City.

Special Pokémon will appear in the wild!

For all Trainers, special Pokémon will appear in four unique habitats, which will rotate hourly during the event!

All Trainers will have the opportunity to enjoy each habitat hour twice during event hours on Saturday!

The Quartz Terrarium habitat will run during the following times:

• 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. local time
• 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time

• 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time
• 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. local time

Malachite Wilderness

The Malachite Wilderness habitat will run during the following times:

• 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. local time

Catching Carbink can reward 1 Diancie Mega Energy.

Pokémon will appear more frequently from Incense during this event at around 1 Pokémon per minute (even when stationary).

Note : If you already have a Diancie from an in-person GO Fest event, you will receive Diancie Candy instead. You will also have the Pose and Shirt replaced with 25 Diancie Candy and 100 Diancie Mega Energy.

Collection Challenges

Level up your Elite Collector medal by completing habitat-themed Collection Challenges!

These Collection Challenges can only be completed on Saturday. Each Collection Challenge expires at the end of the second occurrence of their corresponding Habitat.

These Pokémon will be released in their shiny variant with the start of the event.

A special, to-be-announced event will take place from Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time, regardless of the number of challenges Trainers are able to complete.

Ultra Unlock: A ??? Adventure

Fringe Fest '24 Celebrates Theater Students' Boundless Creativity

For the Department of Theater's Fringe Fest '24 , students run the show. 

They raise the funds, cast the shows, design the productions, troubleshoot any challenges that arise — and throw open the doors for their peers and the community to see the work. To attend any of the festival events is to learn about what is important to the next generation to be making theater.

The festival runs May 3-12 in spaces around the campus. While all events are free, many require reservations, so please check the website for details.

The works represent a broad spectrum of theater. In some cases, students stage original works — a play that uses clay as a metaphor to examine a story of lost love, one that was co-written by ChatGPT, a surreal piece in which a Roomba is a main character, a festival that goes from blank page to stage over the course of a night.

In others, students put a fresh spin on existing work — the sequel to a sci-fi musical presented in last year's festival, a coming-of-age musical that made a splash on Broadway recently, a zippy farce. Several works blur the boundaries between theater and art exhibits.

For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.

Rosatom obtained a license for the first land-based SMR in Russia

Rosatom Starts Production of Rare-Earth Magnets for Wind Power Generation

TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom has started gradual localization of rare-earth magnets manufacturing for wind power plants generators. The first sets of magnets have been manufactured and shipped to the customer.

In total, the contract between Elemash Magnit LLC (an enterprise of TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom in Elektrostal, Moscow region) and Red Wind B.V. (a joint venture of NovaWind JSC and the Dutch company Lagerwey) foresees manufacturing and supply over 200 sets of magnets. One set is designed to produce one power generator.

“The project includes gradual localization of magnets manufacturing in Russia, decreasing dependence on imports. We consider production of magnets as a promising sector for TVEL’s metallurgical business development. In this regard, our company does have the relevant research and technological expertise for creation of Russia’s first large-scale full cycle production of permanent rare-earth magnets,” commented Natalia Nikipelova, President of TVEL JSC.

“NovaWind, as the nuclear industry integrator for wind power projects, not only made-up an efficient supply chain, but also contributed to the development of inter-divisional cooperation and new expertise of Rosatom enterprises. TVEL has mastered a unique technology for the production of magnets for wind turbine generators.
