Volleyball Essay In English

Volleyball, as mentioned in the above section, involves two teams of six members each. The teams are separated on the court by a net. The teams have to "bat" the ball using only their hands to pass the ball back and forth over the net. The game aims to pass the ball onto the next team without letting it touch the ground. The team which succeeds in making the ball fall on the ground of the opponent’s side gets a point. At the end of the game, the team with the highest point wins.

Rules of Volleyball

Volleyball has an extensive set of rules. In the following, those are described in brief.

The game of volleyball starts when one player of a team, standing behind the back boundary line of the court, begins a rally by serving the opposite team with the ball. The ball must travel to the side of the opposition team without touching the net.

The receiving team must prevent the ball from falling on the ground and pass it onto the court of the opponent. Each team gets to touch the ball a maximum of 3 times amongst the team members before passing it to the other team. However, an individual player can only touch a ball once before passing.

The rally continues unless a team makes the ball fall on the ground of the opposition or one team commits a fault and loses. Some faults can include touching the net, more than the allowed number of touches by the team or a player of the team, stepping outside the court boundaries, and so on.

Each time a team wins the serve, they must rotate. The entire team is required to switch the sides moving in a clockwise manner with one player moving in a front line whereas another player moving to the backline.

Tournaments In Volleyball

Volleyball is a very popular sport and has its tournaments. The most famous of which is the FIVB Volleyball Grand Champions cup.  It is an international tournament where several countries are represented by their men's and women's teams. Apart from this, India has its national-level volleyball tournament. There are also several state-level and district-level tournaments of volleyball. Brazil is ranked as the best volleyball team while India stands at 34th.

A game of volleyball can be exciting as well as unpredictable. It is both interesting to watch and exciting to play. Playing volleyball can also be a very good form of physical activity for novices. The professionals, however, require dedicated practice.

Short Essay on Volleyball in English

The volleyball court is divided into two halves by a net. The two teams remain on either side. The main aim of the teams is to pass the ball onto the other half of the court in such a way that it hits the ground while preventing the ball from touching their court.

History of Volleyball

Earlier volleyball was known as mintonette. William G. Morgan invented this in the year 1895. Volleyball was invented four years before basketball was invented. The first net of volleyball had a height of 6’6’’. It was taken from tennis. It was in Philippines that volleyball’s first setting and spiking was tried and showed.

This was in the year 1916. But slowly people realized that volleyball needs to have proper rules so that it is played fairly. After this in 1928 the United States Volleyball Association was created. After this association was created, there were two men who played volleyball on a beach after two years.

In 1965, beach volleyball had made its first association in California. In the Los Angeles Olympics of 184, the gold and silver medals in the indoor volleyball competition were taken mostly by American men and women. There have been changes in the volleyball from the time it was first invented.

The scoring points and rules were also changed. Many more associations were formed. The two man beach volleyball games got recognized in Olympics.

Rules of Volleyball  and how is it played?

volleyball essay

Every sport has its rules so that everyone plays the game fairly and there is no cheating. First, the rules on how to serve the ball. The player can serve the ball by standing behind the end line.

This can be done by overhand or else underhand. The opponents must be able to see the ball clearly before the player serves the ball. After the serve, if the ball drops on the opponent’s side they get a point.

The main serve of the game is decided by a volley. When a team loses they will serve the next game. When a player returns the serve, they cannot do it by an attack or setting. They need do it only by a hit.

Next, the rules are on the scoring criteria. In volleyball, there is the use of rally scoring. The team will get one point when they score on each ball. The team who serves gets a point when the opponent misses to attack back or hit wrong.

While the team who does not do the serve gets a point and also when they fails to hit back or the ball hits the net. The team which reaches to twenty five points first wins that game. It is necessary to win by 2 points to be declared as winner of the entire game.

Each team should have four to six players. When a team wins the serve, they rotate their positions and this is done clockwise. The players should remember the rules while playing the game. A player gets only three chances to hit the ball. They cannot hit a ball twice while in defense.

The hit is legal when the player’s body above the waist hits the ball. If not so the ball is on rest. Sometimes it happens when the ball comes to the players, two of them try hitting the ball. During such situations, it is called only one play but not two. But during the next play they cannot be a part.

A player is not allowed to block a serve. The players in the front line can change their position only after the serve. When a player does the serve, they are not allowed to step on the line or over it. Very often the players violate the rules when they are not able to serve the ball to their opponents.

It is illegal to carry the ball or palm it or throw the ball during the match. A player’s body cannot touch the net during the game. A play is allowed to serve only the right way. A player cannot block a ball if they are not following to stay behind the ten foot line when their position is in the back row.

Volleyball can be played both outdoors and indoors. The courts in outdoor and indoor games measure (18*9) m. When a person is playing they need to get thorough with the terms used while playing volleyball. Some of these terms are ace, roof, dig, sideout, stuff, kill.

Ace happens when a player serves the ball to the opponent but it drops to their side without anyone touching it. The roof occurs when a player blocks the ball by jumping more than the height of the net. When a player manages to save the ball when it is hit aggressively it is called dig.

Sometimes the team that is going to serve does a mistake and the ball reaches to the opponent it is called sideout. When a player blocks the ball by jumping more than the height of the net and the attacker gets the ball back it is called stuff. Kill occurs when a team hits a ball with aggression and it results in a sideout or else in a point.

What changes has volleyball experienced?

volleyball essay

The game of volleyball has undergone many changes from the time it was first invented. With time volleyball started to become famous like boxing, football, handball etc. in the starting volleyball was formed by mixing various games like basketball, tennis, baseball and handball.

The name was given volleyball from mintonette because the ball used to be played by bringing it back and front over the net. The rules which existed years before have changed. At the present time there are many rules and people feel like it has turned to be a different game compared to before one. But even those rules needed changes. Or else people would have no fun to see and play the game.

The measurement of the court has changed. Earlier there were no center lines. The uniforms for both men and women have changed. For girls now the uniforms have become shorter pants or dresses. Earlier they were longer.

The type of ball used in volleyball has also changed. Earlier the balls were heavy enough to be played above the ground. So, the ball for volleyball was made light so that it can be held in the air but not so light too that the game will become easy.

Volleyball has today become very famous. People came to know about this game from the time it had been invented. We can clearly see that it spread all over the world very quickly. Volleyball helps a person to be flexible, coordinate properly and learn to balance well.

“You have to work hard in volleyball. Third thing about Volleyball is the feeling you get when you love a sport so much. To me volleyball is a great and exciting sport not only do you get to meet new people but you make great memories. The feeling volleyball gives me is like no other getting to hit the ball and laugh with your teammates winning or losing a game it don’t matter it’s all fun.”

Harrington writes about his favorite sport, volleyball, and why he enjoys it so much. First, he simply enjoys the competitive, suspenseful spirit of being in a game. Second, he appreciates the challenge of having to move constantly to score. Third, and perhaps most importantly, he has put so much work into the sport and, as a result, appreciates it more. To him, his work has paid off.

“A significant reason the sport has generated many fans is that it is an exciting game that reduces people’s stress and anxiety levels by capturing your concentration and disengaging your mental mind from other thoughts other than the game. Reducing anxiety and stress is key to living a healthy mental life where you can easily socialize with people and learn to communicate. Also, the fact that the game relies on quality teamwork ensures you associate with people, make new friends and reduce depression levels. The volleyball game is a fun and exhilarating game that exercises the body and improves motor coordination in the body.”

In his essay, Bird explains why volleyball is beloved by many. Mainly, the thrill of the game gives people an escape from their anxiety and stress, allowing them to just focus on the game at hand. In addition, the teamwork aspect of the game allows for better coordination and social skills. Bird also gives tips on how to play volleyball better and briefly describes its gameplay.

“The ball, along with players on the court, both have acceleration. There are times in a volleyball game when the ball has constant acceleration, when the ball is served. When the ball is hit by a player for a spike, the rate at which it reaches is maximum velocity is the acceleration. In order to determine when to hit the ball, you need to calculate the trajectory, speed, and placement of the set. When approaching the ball, the body has kinetic energy and this energy turns into potential energy.”

As the title states, this essay explores the physics behind the sport of volleyball. Ramsey explains how some physics concepts are seen in the sport; for example, the ball’s velocity determines whether it will hit the ground or not, gravity assures that the ball lands and the players stay grounded, and acceleration is seen when the ball flies faster after a serve is returned. Understanding these concepts can help people appreciate volleyball more.

“I’ve lost many games in high school, but each one has strengthened me. It taught me to never give up and never give in. The memories of the lost game will fade, but what we take away from it will last a lifetime. Losing is never easy. It can be frustrating, disappointing, and even heart-breaking. But it is also an essential part of life. Losing teaches us how to deal with frustration and disappointment, how to be strong in the face of adversity, and how to keep going even when the going gets tough.”

Evon, in her essay, addresses her writing to her niece Amelia, explaining why she loves volleyball and how it has made her who she is today. It taught her discipline, leadership skills, and dedication, and most importantly, it allowed her to bounce back from struggles and challenges, such as her losses in the game. It taught her that life doesn’t always go your way and that it is up to you to make the most of it.

5. Final Reflection – Volleyball by Vicky Lee

“One of the challenges was definitely coming back as a team after losing a set and remaining calm during close matches. There were several matches where we had to play into extra time which proved to be incredibly tense, particularly for the server. However, with support from the sidelines from the rest of our team and our parents, we were often able to perform under pressure and come out on top.”

Lee reflects on the previous volleyball season and explains why she enjoyed it. At first, she struggled, but with practice and a supportive team, she could overcome the hurdle and become better. She also discusses their struggles as a team when they lost close matches yet stayed determined to do better in the next game. She realizes the importance of morale, commitment, and teamwork.

Misty May Treanor's Biography

A story about new volleyball coach, the impact of volleyball: academic, social, and personal growth.

Volleyball, known as a dynamic team sport, is played on a rectangular court that can be found indoors or outdoors, specifically on sand courts. The essence of the game lies in the interaction between two teams, each comprised of six players, all aiming to accumulate points by skillfully striking the ball over a net and successfully landing it on the opponent's side of the court.

In 1895, William G. Morgan, a physical education director at the YMCA in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA, was credited with the invention of volleyball. Morgan aimed to invent a new game that combined elements of basketball, tennis, handball, and baseball, creating a less physically demanding alternative. Originally called "Mintonette," the game's name was later changed to volleyball due to the nature of the sport. The first official game of volleyball was played on July 7, 1896, at the YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts. The sport quickly gained popularity and spread internationally. It was included in the program of the Summer Olympics for the first time in 1964. The Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) was established in 1947 as the governing body for international volleyball competitions. Over the years, volleyball has undergone various rule changes and modifications, evolving into a fast-paced and dynamic sport. It is now played on both indoor and beach courts, with different variations such as six-player indoor volleyball and two-player beach volleyball.

In the United States, volleyball gained popularity in the early 20th century and has since grown into one of the most popular team sports. The sport is governed by USA Volleyball, the national governing body responsible for organizing national teams, tournaments, and development programs. Collegiate volleyball is particularly popular in the US, with both men's and women's teams competing at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) level. The NCAA volleyball championships are highly anticipated events, attracting a large audience and showcasing the talent and skill of collegiate players. Beach volleyball has also gained significant traction in the US, with professional leagues and tournaments drawing large crowds and television viewership. The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) hosts professional beach volleyball events across the country, featuring top players from around the world. The US has produced many successful volleyball players who have made significant contributions to the sport, both domestically and internationally. The country's national teams have achieved notable success in international competitions, including Olympic medals and World Championship titles.

Team Composition: A standard volleyball team comprises six individuals on either side of the net, with an equal distribution of three players in the front row and three players in the back row. Scoring: Points are awarded when a team successfully grounds the ball on the opponent's court or if the opposing team commits a fault. A team must win a rally to earn a point, and matches are usually played in sets. The team that reaches the specified point limit first wins the set. Serving: The game begins with a serve. The server must stand behind the end line and hit the ball over the net to start the rally. If the serve lands in the opponent's court or is not successfully returned, the serving team earns a point. Rally: Following the service, the teams participate in a rally where their objective is to sustain ball movement by executing no more than three touches to send it back over the net. It is essential for each team to utilize a maximum of three hits to successfully return the ball. Rotation: Players must rotate positions clockwise after winning a rally and gaining the right to serve. This ensures that each player has an opportunity to play in different positions on the court. Faults: Various faults can occur during a game, such as stepping on or over the boundary lines, touching the net, double contact, or committing a foot fault during a serve.

Volleyball Essay

Volleyball Essay

Introduction

We are blessed to have a healthy life. To keep ourselves fit and active, we must follow healthy food habits and engage in physical sports or activities regularly. In schools, there are physical education hours for children to participate in a variety of games and sports. If they have a passion for any sport, we must encourage and support them. In this volleyball essay, we will be discussing one such sport that is played with a ball in two teams.

Volleyball is a popular game played in different parts of the world. There will be two teams of 6 members each who play on either side of the net. The players throw the ball with their hands or arms over the net, and they score when the ball hits the ground of the other team. Through this volleyball essay in English, we can make our children aware of the rules and benefits of playing the game.

Rules of Volleyball

Volleyball is a fun game to play, and we will see some basic rules associated with it in this essay about volleyball experience. Without these rules, volleyball will be like passing the ball with no excitement or joy. So, let us understand how volleyball is played through this volleyball essay in English.

In a volleyball game, a player from one team throws the ball to the opposite team from the boundary line of the court without touching the net. The players of the other team must receive the ball and pass it back by stopping it from falling to the ground. Instead of catching and throwing, the ball is passed continuously in volleyball.

The volleyball essay also points out how a player could only touch the ball once before passing. On the other hand, within a team, a ball can be passed to team members a maximum of 3 times before passing. The team scores a point when the ball touches the ground of the other team, or the ball touches the net when the opposing team throws the ball. Whichever team gets the highest score wins the game.

Benefits of Playing Volleyball

There is a sense of togetherness and determination while playing volleyball, and this is highlighted in the essay about volleyball experience. As volleyball involves physical activity, this game will keep our children healthy and fit. We will be discussing other benefits of the game in this volleyball essay in English.

Since volleyball is played in teams, it would enhance children’s leadership , teamwork and social skills. As they coordinate with other members and plan strategies, the game will teach them perseverance and hard work. Moreover, there are many mental benefits of playing volleyball. The game is perfect for relieving stress and improving the focus of children. Thus, the volleyball essay concludes that the game is rewarding and rejuvenating for all. Writing About Sports: A Comprehensive Guide for Students on Volleyball Essays

by Marc Bird | Jun 13, 2023

volleyball infographics

Volleyball is a sport that enjoys significant global popularity, rivaling games such as soccer, basketball, and cricket. It is more than just a simple game – it is a blend of precision, teamwork, strategy, and athleticism. Students writing about volleyball must not only understand the sport, its rules, and nuances but also convey them effectively in their essays. This article aims to provide a comprehensive guide on how to write an engaging and insightful essay about volleyball.

Understanding Volleyball Basics

Before you start writing an essay about volleyball, it’s essential to grasp the basic rules and characteristics of the game. Volleyball can be played indoors or at the beach, each style with its own set of rules. A standard indoor volleyball game involves two teams of six players, a court divided by a net, and a lot of strategic planning. The objective of the game is to land the ball on the opponent’s side of the court while preventing it from touching your side. Points are awarded based on specific conditions, and a typical game can last up to five sets.

Understanding these specifics is crucial for any volleyball essay. It provides you with the necessary knowledge to approach your topic confidently. If you’re having difficulty gathering information, a paper writing service online can help you research, giving you a solid foundation to build your essay upon.

Key Elements of a Volleyball Essay

To write an engaging volleyball essay, you need to incorporate several key elements. First, delve into the history of volleyball – how it originated, how it spread worldwide, and its evolution over time. Secondly, a clear explanation of the rules and the strategies employed by teams can be insightful. It’s also beneficial to mention notable personalities in the sport, their contributions, achievements, and how they have influenced the game.

Moreover, don’t forget to address current trends in volleyball, such as new techniques, strategies, or significant matches and tournaments. Researching these elements and fact-checking your information ensures that your essay is accurate, comprehensive, and relevant.

Selecting a Topic for Your Essay

Choosing a topic for your volleyball essay can be an exciting task. There’s a wealth of subjects to explore – you could write about a memorable match, analyze the playing style of a famous player, or discuss the impact of volleyball on physical health and teamwork skills. Alternatively, you could delve into the differences between beach and indoor volleyball or the role of technology in modern volleyball.

The key to selecting a good topic is to choose something you’re genuinely interested in and can gather enough information about. Remember, the more specific your topic, the easier it will be to keep your essay focused and engaging.

How to Structure Your Volleyball Essay

The structure of your essay can make or break its effectiveness. A well-structured essay usually consists of three main parts: an introduction, the body, and a conclusion. The introduction is your chance to hook your readers, introduce your topic, and present your thesis statement. Your thesis statement should be a succinct encapsulation of your essay’s main argument or point of view on the selected volleyball topic.

The body of your essay is where you expand on your thesis statement, presenting arguments and evidence to support your claims. It’s here where your deep understanding of volleyball will shine through as you explore the chosen topic in detail. Each paragraph should focus on one main idea or argument, with clear transitions between them.

Finally, the conclusion wraps up your essay, summarizing the main points and reinforcing your thesis statement. It’s also an opportunity to leave your readers with something to think about, like the future of volleyball or its societal implications.

Tips for Writing an Engaging Volleyball Essay

Writing about volleyball, or any sport, requires a certain level of passion. Your love for the game should be apparent in your writing and can make your essay much more engaging. Use vivid descriptions to convey the excitement and intensity of a volleyball match or the meticulous planning behind a team’s strategy.

Personal anecdotes or experiences can also enrich your essay. If you’ve played volleyball, share your experiences – they can provide unique insights and make your writing more relatable. If not, interviews with players or coaches can be equally enlightening.

Proofreading and Revision Strategies

Proofreading is an essential step in the writing process. It helps you catch grammatical errors, awkward phrasing, and unclear passages that might confuse your readers. Reading your essay aloud can help you identify areas that need improvement.

Revising your essay is equally important. It allows you to improve the content quality, ensuring your arguments are coherent, and your evidence is compelling. If you’re unsure how to revise effectively, the best paper writing services can provide assistance, offering professional editors to refine your work.

Writing an essay about volleyball can be a rewarding endeavor, allowing you to explore a sport you love in depth. By understanding the game’s basics, selecting an engaging topic, structuring your essay effectively, and taking the time to proofread and revise, you can write an insightful and compelling essay. Remember, the key is to let your passion for volleyball shine through your words. Start writing, and who knows? You might inspire others to love the game as much as you do.

How To Write An Essay On ‘My Favourite Game’ For Lower Primary Classes

Shaili Contractor

Key Points to Remember When Writing an Essay on ‘My Favourite Game’ for Lower Primary Classes

10 lines on ‘my favourite game is cricket’, essay on ‘my favourite game is kabaddi’, essay on ‘my favourite game is hockey’.

  • Essay On ‘My Favourite is Game is Ludo’

Essay on ‘My Favourite Game is Volleyball’

Short essay on ‘my favourite game is carrom’, essay on ‘my favorite sport is football’, long essay on ‘my favourite game is badminton’, what will your child learn by writing an essay on ‘my favourite game’.

If there’s one thing all children absolutely love, it is playing games. Be it an outdoor sport or an indoor game, children love their playtime. It is the time of day when they take a break from school, homework and other chores at home to have a good time. They get together with their friends and siblings, and enjoy activities that they all like. ‘My Favourite Game’ is an exciting topic for an essay for children of lower primary classes. They will be full of ideas for what to include in the composition. Organising these ideas and presenting them in words will improve their writing skills. When writing about sports, children will be expected to touch upon various aspects of it. Here are some samples which will guide children of classes 1, 2 & 3 to write about some popular sports.

‘My Favourite Game’ is a moderately challenging topic for children. They need to remember certain facts about the game of their choice and express why it is their favourite. Here are some essential tips:

  • When writing about a game, start by talking about the game’s popularity.
  • Write about the different aspects of that game that makes it your personal favourite.
  • Talk about how often you play the game.
  • Mention how it is a part of your school life.
  • Dive into details of the game only in a longer essay.

Cricket is a popular game in India, making it a topic that is easy for a short essay for children. Here is how to write a short 10-line essay on cricket for class 1.

  • Cricket is the most popular and loved sport in the country.
  • I enjoy watching cricket with my family and playing the game with my friends.
  • People in my country are very passionate about cricket and watch the matches with a lot of enthusiasm.
  • I play cricket with my friends at home and at school.
  • I am a good batsman and fielder, and my friends have the same opinion.
  • In cricket, there are 11 players on each team. Each team has a batsman, a bowler, a wicket-keeper and many fielders.
  • At the beginning, there is a coin toss. The winner chooses to bat or bowl.
  • My favourite cricket players are Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.
  • Everybody is interested in cricket scores during an important match.
  • Seeing cricket on TV is fun but going to a stadium is the most fun you can have as a cricket fan.

Kabaddi is a regional sport that has existed for many generations in India. It is a physically demanding game played by seven players on each team. In the game, two teams stand opposite each other. A player from one team enters the opponent’s court while continuously saying “kabbadi”. If he touches one of the players and returns to his side, his team wins a point. The opposite team tries to stop him from going back till he runs out of breath and stops saying kabaddi. If they manage to stop him, he loses. I am very good at Kabaddi because I can run very fast before anyone can catch me. I am also able to hold my breath for a very long time. Kabaddi is my favourite because it is a challenging game and one has to be very strong and fast to win at it.

Hockey is my favourite game because it is challenging and also a lot of fun at the same time. It is the national game of India and is also played throughout the world. In the game, there are 11 players on each team. The teams have to chase a ball with their hockey sticks and score a goal. Along with playing hockey, I also love watching it on television. Although it is a national sport, hockey is not very common in the country. The popularity needs to increase, and more people should take up the game in schools and colleges.

Essay On ‘My Favourite is Game is Ludo’

Ludo is a popular board game among all children. I play it with my family and friends on weekends when we meet. Ludo is my favourite because I can play the game anytime and anywhere. The game is also available on mobile phones, but I like playing it on the gameboard when I am home. It requires at least two players and a maximum of four. In ludo, each player gets four tokens to play. The players roll the dice turn by turn and move ahead on the board accordingly. The first player who takes all his tokens to the finishing point wins. I also have a magnetic board and tokens for playing the game while travelling to a holiday destination. I like playing ludo with new people and making new friends.

I enjoy playing all ball games, but volleyball is my favourite of them all. The game has two teams standing on opposite sides of a court with a net in between. The first team serves the ball, and the opposite team returns it by hitting the ball with their wrist. If the ball reaches out of the court boundary or touches the net, the team that hits the ball loses. The game requires you to stay focused all the time, as even a small lapse of judgment can cost you the winning point. Unlike other games where you can take your eyes off the ball, you cannot do the same in volleyball until you have gained or lost a point. I like volleyball because it is all about strong team coordination. Everybody has to cooperate and work together to win.

Carrom is one of the best board games there is! It is a two-player game, but I love playing it alone too. I enjoy it because it requires strength, accuracy and swiftness while striking every move. The game is fun but challenging because it requires precise moves with an understanding of force and direction of the strike. It took me many months to learn how to shoot the striker properly and hit the tokens on the board. It takes a lot of time to become good at the game as we need a lot of practice to excel in it.

My favourite game is football. It is a popularly played sport throughout the world! The best teams from every country make it to the world cup, and people across the globe watch it with interest. I love football because there is a sense of freedom in playing the game. It is physically demanding as we have to run around the field to score a goal and simultaneously defend our side of the goal post. I play football every day in school with my classmates. I also play football with other children in my neighbourhood. It is a great way to make friends as you learn to play as a team.

Many of us dream of becoming great footballers someday. I always work on my skills because my coach says we can make it to the state or national level championships if we play well. Football is just as much about strategy and teamwork as it is about physical endurance. We also need great discipline and team cohesion to become a great football team.

When writing a long essay, students have to plan what they are about to write. For writing about a sport, they will need to give a few details about the game and why they like it in the rest of the essay. Here is a sample essay on badminton for students of class 3:

Badminton is a popular sport throughout the world. Many people worldwide watch it on TV, and many play it as a leisure sport. My interest in badminton started when I visited the sports centre in our locality. I was hooked on the sport soon after my first game. Unlike many other games that I play, I find that badminton is fun and challenging at the same time. The game requires two players. We need great stamina to move around the court to serve and return the shuttlecock by hitting it with the racket.

Badminton can be played by anyone as long as they love games. There are a few rules for playing the game in a competition or championship. You can choose to relax some of the rules and play just for fun as per your own plan.

Badminton is a game that gives a full-body workout. You will have to constantly move around the court in the direction of the shuttlecock and hit it using your racket with the required force. Throughout the game, you exercise your legs, torso and upper body.

I am known as the best badminton player in my school because I practise in the evening every day. I have participated in many events at the regional and national levels, and won several championships. In recent years, badminton has also become popular in video games. My love for the sport makes me play that too, however, I prefer to play the sport on an actual court with a real opponent. The thrill of hitting the shuttlecock high into the air and running around to chase it is unmatched in a video game.

When writing an essay on their favourite game, your child will learn how to express themselves coherently in the written word. Writing about sports involves explaining the rules of a game, its unique rules, and several other aspects. Students will gather thorough knowledge about their favourite sport to write this essay. They will also improve their general knowledge while memorising facts like famous players of the sport.

Since playing games is a fun activity for children, they will enjoy writing this essay as they combine their knowledge, feelings and writing skills to compose an excellent essay.

Short Essay & Paragraphs About Volleyball For Students

Volleyball is a beloved sport that has captivated people all around the globe. It is a dynamic team game that brings together players to showcase their strength, coordination, and agility. The objective of volleyball is simple yet exciting: score points by skillfully hitting the ball over the net and into the opposing team’s court. This sport has numerous key points that make it engaging and enjoyable for both players and spectators alike.

Essay: Volleyball: The Thrilling Team Sport

One of the defining features of volleyball is its requirement for six players on each side of the net. This balanced team setup allows for strategic gameplay and encourages cooperation and communication among team members. Each player has a specific role and position on the court, and together, they work towards achieving victory.

The game takes place on a rectangular court with a net stretched across the middle. The net acts as the dividing line between the two teams, and players must hit the ball over it to gain points. The objective is to land the ball in the opposing team’s court, making it challenging for the opposing players to return it successfully.

To play volleyball, players use their arms or hands to strike the ball, propelling it over the net. This requires precise timing, coordination, and technique. Players must be quick on their feet and ready to react to the movements of the ball and the opposing team.

A match of volleyball is divided into sets, and the first team to score 15 points in a set emerges victorious. This scoring system keeps the game fast-paced and filled with suspense. Additionally, matches are typically played in a best-of-five format, adding an element of endurance and mental resilience to the sport.

Beyond the thrill of competition, volleyball offers numerous health benefits. It is a physically demanding game that provides an excellent cardio workout. Running, jumping, and diving to save the ball can elevate the heart rate and improve overall fitness. Moreover, volleyball strengthens the muscles of the arms and legs, enhancing physical strength and endurance.

Volleyball is not just a sport; it is also a wonderful social activity. Playing volleyball with friends and family fosters a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. The sport encourages communication and cooperation among team members, creating bonds that extend beyond the court.

One of the great aspects of volleyball is its inclusivity. People of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the sport. Whether playing in a casual setting at the beach or in a competitive league, volleyball provides an opportunity for everyone to participate and have fun.

In conclusion, volleyball is an exhilarating team sport that brings people together to showcase their strength, coordination, and agility. It is played with six players on each side of the net, and the objective is to score points by hitting the ball into the opposing team’s court. The game takes place on a court with a net in the middle, and players use their arms or hands to strike the ball over the net. A team must score 15 points to win a set. Volleyball offers numerous health benefits, including a great cardio workout and improved strength in the arms and legs. Moreover, it fosters a sense of teamwork and camaraderie, making it a social and enjoyable activity for people of all ages and skill levels. So, grab a ball, find some friends, and start spiking your way to a fun-filled game of volleyball!

My Favourite Game Essay for Students and Children

500+ words essay on my favourite game.

My Favourite game essay-Playing games are very important for a human being. It keeps a man fit. Moreover, it keeps him away from diseases. Having some physical hobby is essential for a person. Most importantly many nutritionist and doctor recommend it. Children play many games. Some of them are cricket , basketball, football. Tennis , badminton, etc. Since in India the famous game is cricket many children are having it as a hobby. But my favorite is football.

My Favourite Game Essay

My Favorite Game – Football

When I was a child I liked cricket too but was never good at it. So I changed my hobby to football . Football was new to me in class 3. I did not play well in the beginning. But I liked the game very much. So I started practicing it. As a result, I began to play it well.

In class 5 I became the captain of my class football team. At that time I was so much excited to become the captain. With time a learned a lot about football.

In Football total 22 players play. Division of players is in two teams. Each team has 11 players. These players have to play with the ball only with legs. They have to kick the ball in the other teams’ goal post. Football is not like cricket. Weather is not an issue in football. Due to which players can play it the whole year.

In addition to football is a game of stamina. The players have to run on the field for the whole game. Also for 90 minutes too. Since 90 minutes is a lot there is a division in time. There are two halves. The first is of 45 minutes. Likewise, the second half is of 45 minutes too.

Rules in the Game

Like all the other games there are some rules and regulations too. First of all, the ball should not touch the ball by hand. If the ball gets touched by hand the other team gets a free-kick. There is a small area near the goal post. ‘D’ is the name of that area. The boundary of the ‘D’ is at least 10 yards from the goal post. If the player touches the ball there the opposite team gets a penalty.

Moreover, there are other rules. The second important rule is the ‘Off-Side Rule’. In this rule, if the player crosses the defender line it becomes an offside. If you are a true fan of football you must know what are defenders.

In the game, the players are into three subcategories. The first category is Forward. Forward are players who put the ball in the net of the goal post. The second category is a Midfielder. Midfielders are players who pass the ball to the forward player. The third category is the defenders. Defenders stop the other team players to put the ball in the goal post.

In addition to all the players playing on the field, there are other players too. These are substitute players. Football is a harsh game. Because of which many players get injured. When players get injured the substitutes take their place for the rest of the game.

Furthermore, there is a referee on the field. Whenever any place does a foul the referee whistles and stops the game. The referee then gives the penalty or a free-kick to the team foul against.

Moreover, if a player injures and fouls the other team player the referee gives him a Yellow or Red Card. The yellow card is a warning card. The red card is a suspension card. This card suspends the player for the rest of the game.

Games immune us physically as well as mentally. Games are important for us because they give us the fitness to stay healthy. If we are physically fit then automatically our brain will function better. I have never received any open playground in my childhood.

So I have grown up playing different indoor games with my parents and siblings. My favourite indoor game is chess. I love to play chess, especially with my father who has taught me all the rules and regulations of that game. The best thing about this game is the use of the brain. Even the easiest step can do checkmate. I have often lost to my father but still, I love to play it again and learn it always.

Playing outdoors under the open sky is great fun and happiness. It means freedom from studies and the tensions in our lives. Every evening playing outside with my friends gives me lots of pleasure and joy. The best game that I like to play is ‘Hide and seek’.

Many people can play together and so it’s my favourite outdoor game. With many friends, it is great fun to hide in different places and make one search for all of us. Hide and seek involves lots of physical exercises and that enables us to stay fit, even without our knowledge. Also, that search is exciting. The sudden finding of one friend and often using that friend to get others to involve lots of mischiefs. The laughter at the end is worth the most to me.

Today due to the lack of any playground we hardly get a chance to play this game. However, it is still an important part of our memory. As we have grown up over the past years, we have realized how important the simple game was. Today we have smartphones and video games but then only this innocent play every evening meant a lot to us. Also running back home all happy and fresh in mind helped us to concentrate better on our studies. Hide and seek still remains to be more fun for me than just any other outdoor game.

Games are an essential part of human life. It is very important to play games as it helps us to remain healthy and fit, both physically and mentally. All sorts of diseases and pains can be reduced if we regularly play games.

Indoor games help us to immune our brains while outdoor games are important to build our own strong immunity and body. From my early childhood, I have loved to play games, especially outdoor games. My parents have always encouraged me to play games to keep a healthy and fit body. The game that I have played the most and also have seen the most is cricket. It is not only my favourite game but also the ideal one for me.

Cricket is generally a game played by men, but nowadays women equally engage in playing cricket. My inspirations in this game are Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Jhulan Goswami, and also M.S. Dhoni. I have watched them play several matches and every time I have been inspired to play like them. My father taught me the basics of cricket and later on, I was admitted to a club. From there every morning I go and practice cricket.

Cricket involves lots of exercise and practice. This game originated mainly in England as a colonial sport and later on spread over several countries. It happened when Britain started colonizing all over the world and the game spread all over as part of their culture. But today it is almost a native sport for the country as well. When I play cricket it does not seem that it was once used by a different country, but now it feels like it is my own.

Cricket is played with a bat, ball, wicket, stumps, and a proper pitch for a smooth throw of the ball. The team contains 11 players and all need to be equally efficient to be a part of the cricket team. The best part of playing cricket is teamwork. I love to see the captain planning everything and then adjusting it with his or her team.

This constant equation between the team member is my favourite part of the game. Cricket has taught me lots of things. It has only made me physically fit. Cricket has taught me how to collaborate and work as a team. It has successfully built the team. It is always a great company to me than any simple outdoor game.

I have adopted a simplistic approach to writing essays on the topic for a better understanding of all kinds of students. If you still have any doubts regarding this context, kindly let me know through the comment section below. Keep browsing our website for more such sessions.
