Why Make These

Ingredients, instructions, more great pizza recipes, tell us what you think, mini pizza recipe.

We are big pizza lovers at our house. It seems like my kids are asking for pizza at least twice a week! I make homemade pizza so that we can afford to eat it as often as we want.

While we love to grill pizza made with a sourdough crus t, I like switching things up: creating new pizza toppings, playing with new dough recipes, using pre-made bases, and even shrinking our pizzas.

Yes, shrinking them. Mini pizzas have been a fun addition to our meal plans as well as our freezer stash. A mini pizza is a smaller, hand-held round of pizza, topped however you like.

This mini pizza recipe results in the perfect size pies for kids as well as being a practical size for homemade frozen pizzas. They’re super fun for parties and appetizers, too!

While a large pie is great for feeding a crowd, so are a variety of mini pizzas. You can vary the toppings or serve them at a potluck. Mini pizzas have a lot of good things going for them:

They are single-serving. Mini pizzas are a perfect size for one serving. That makes them easily customizable to suit a variety of toppings.

They are portion controlled. No fighting over who gets the bigger slice, everyone can his or her own mini pizza — or two.

They are freezer-friendly! You will love having a batch of mini pizzas in the freezer. They bake up quickly making for a great lunch, snack, or dinner.

Here’s what you’ll need for this mini pizzas recipe:

pizza toppings and dough

dough ingredients – This includes yeast, sugar, salt, olive oil, flour, and dry herbs. You can purchase pre-made dough at the grocery store or pizza parlor.

Or if you like, substitute Pillsbury biscuit dough, English muffins , mini bagels, street taco-size tortillas, or mini naan for the pizza crust. These qualify mini pizzas for a perfect Last Minute Dinner Idea .

pizza sauce – Any marinara or pizza sauce will work. Try my easy Last-Minute No-Cook Pizza Sauce . It’s super simple!

mozzarella cheese – Mozzarella and Monterey Jack are my favorite pizza cheeses. Feel free to use what you have, including pepper jack, cheddar, fontina, gouda, or provolone. You can freeze cheese if you have extra and want to save it for another time.

toppings – Use whatever pizza toppings you like on your mini pizza, including: sliced pepperoni, cooked and crumbled sausage, diced ham or bacon, chopped tomatoes, sliced onions, sliced mushrooms, sliced olives, sliced peppers, or chopped pineapple.

Remember you can freeze pepperoni as well as extra toppings if you need to, to avoid waste.

You can make mini pizzas with homemade dough, store bought dough, or pre-made bases.

Making the dough.

wet ingredients for pizza dough in mixer bowl.

This is a super simple dough that comes together quite easily. It helps to have a bread machine or stand mixer, but you can make mini pizza dough without.

Mixer or hand-directions

  • Combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Allow it to set for five minutes to proof. It will bubble and foam.
  • Add the oil and then the flour, salt, and herbs. Stir with a wooden spoon or in the mixer with a dough hook until a dough ball forms.
  • If mixing by hand, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until the ball is smooth and elastic.
  • If mixing in the mixer, continue with the dough hook until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Transfer it to a greased bowl and allow the dough to rise until doubled in bulk, about one hour.

Bread machine instructions

Place the ingredients in the machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Turn the dough setting on and start the machine.

Assembling the pizzas

Assembling mini pizzas is super easy!

dividing dough into 16 portions

  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper or grease them and sprinkle cornmeal across them. Preheat the oven.
  • Once the dough is ready, turn it out onto a lightly floured board. Divide it into 16 portions.
  • Shape the portions into mini pizza rounds, about 4 to 5 inches in diameter. Lay the rounds on the prepared baking pans.
  • Spread sauce on each, then top with pizza toppings and cheese. Bake as directed.

Freezing Instructions

Having a stash of mini-pizzas waiting in the freezer makes it easy to indulge your pizza craving, night or day.

There are three ways to freeze pizza :

baked and cooled mini pizzas in stack

Freeze the mini pizzas baked and ready to eat – Bake the pizzas according to the recipe and allow them to cool completely on a rack. Once cool, stack and package them for freezing. To serve: simple reheat in a warm oven or toaster oven or microwave until hot.

flash frozen pizzas divided by patty papers

Freeze the unbaked mini pizzas – Assemble the pizzas as directed, but instead of baking them, place the pan in the freezer. Once the pizzas are frozen solid, remove them from the pan and stack them between layers of patty papers or waxed paper. Place the stacks in a ziptop freezer bag or food box and store in the freezer. To serve: follow the recipe, baking from frozen, adding a minute or two to the cook time if needed.

pizza freezer kit in gallon size ziptop bag.

Assemble a mini pizza kit – Freezer Meal Pizza Kits are awesome for when you don’t want to mess with all the dough at one time. Divide the ingredients and freeze them to assemble and bake later. A portion of dough that will make 4 mini pizzas is a good target.

In Italian, pizzetta signifies a small pizza. It can range from 3-inches to personal size. In the US, you might hear mini pizza, single-serve pizza, personal pizza or small pizza.

Prepare a dough or use a pre-baked base like an English muffin, mini bagel, mini naan, or street taco-size tortilla. Top with sauce, cheese, and other toppings, and bake until golden.

You want to cook your pizzas long enough to crisp the crust and melt the cheese. Depending on the size of the pizza, this should take about 6 to 10 minutes. Check it after five minutes to see how it’s doing.

mini pizzas on a white rectangular tray on a black table.

  • stand mixer
  • heavy duty sheet pan

Dough ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon active, dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 4 ½ cup bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

Pizza toppings

  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce
  • 16 oz mozzarella cheese (shredded) Monterey Jack, cheddar, crumbled feta or goat, any combination (4 cups)
  • 6 oz pepperoni (sliced) or other pizza toppings

To make the dough by hand

  • Place the warm water in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the sugar and sprinkle the yeast over the top. Allow this to set for five minutes. The mixture will start to foam and bubble.
  • Add the oil, flour, salt, and herbs. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about five minutes until a smooth dough ball is formed.
  • Transfer the dough ball to a greased bowl, cover, and allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about an hour.

To make the dough in a bread machine

  • Combine the dough ingredients in the bread machine pan, according to the order recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Set on dough and start the machine, checking after ten minutes to make sure all the ingredients have been incorporated and not stuck to the side of the pan. Scrape down any stray ingredients to insure they are mixed in.

To make the dough in a stand mixer

  • Place the warm water in the mixing bowl. Stir in the sugar and sprinkle the yeast over the top. Allow this to set for five minutes. The mixture will start to foam and bubble.
  • Add the oil, flour, salt, and herbs. Attach the dough hook and run the machine until all the ingredients are incorporated, stopping the machine to scrape the sides as necessary. Knead with the dough hook until a smooth dough ball is formed.

Once the dough is ready

  • Preheat the oven to 500 °. Spray baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray and sprinkle with corn meal to prevent sticking or line the pans with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  • Divide the dough into 16 portions. Flatten each portion into a thin round and place on the cooking sheet.
  • Spread sauce and sprinkle toppings as desired.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the crust is crisp and the cheese melted and lightly browned.

To freeze baked pizzas

  • Wrap cooled pizzas in foil or plastic wrap and stash in a larger ziptop freezer bag. Thaw and reheat in a 350 oven for about 5 minutes.

To freeze unbaked pizzas

  • Assemble the pizzas as directed, but instead of baking, place the trays in the freezer. Once the pizzas are frozen solid (this will take several hours), stack them between layers of patty papers or waxed paper and store in a freezer bag or box in the freezer. To serve: bake from frozen at 450 degrees, for 10 to 12 minutes.

I was hoping to make this recipe over the holidays and I saw another comment that asked if the temperatures are in Fahrenheit or Celsius and you said Fahrenheit but I was wondering, because I am in Australia and have a fan-forced oven, once I transfer the temperatures from Fahrenheit to Celsius, would I put my oven on the temperature given or do I change it again to accommodate for it being fan-forced?

Hi Page! I am not familiar with those types of ovens, but I asked a friend from New Zealand. She says to convert to C, but you’ll need to google what to adjust (time or temp) for your type of oven. Hope that helps!

Hey This recipe looks amazing, want to give it a try but instead of pepperoni can I use fresh bell peppers and onions. Can I freeze them unbaked with these veggies? Thanks

May 19, 2021 at 10:46 am

You can, just slice them thin and pat them dry. Don’t do too many as fresh veg can make the pizza soggy.

Will all purpose flour work the same? I don’t have bread flour.

August 21, 2023 at 4:28 pm

It should. I find that bread flour helps the texture, but AP will work.

Hi! This looks great, I just wanted to clarify that 500 degrees is in Fahrenheit? I’m Australian and we measure in Celsius, so I just want to make sure. Thanks!

Yes, sorry for any confusion!

I would love to make these for my always hungry pizza loving teenager. How long would you estimate it takes to thaw a mini pizza? I am just wondering if this is something he could fix after school or if we would need to plan for it and set it out to thaw. He’s used to the boxed cheapo (that aren’t really so cheap) pizza, which offers almost instant gratification. Thanks for the awesome post and any info you or your readers could offer. Just thinking about the money I could save by doing this makes me a little giddy!

January 09, 2013 at 7:51 pm

I think it would thaw on the counter in about 30 minutes but I’ve reheated them from frozen without a problem.

January 10, 2013 at 6:07 pm

@Jessica , Thanks for responding so quickly. Can’t wait to make these! Love your blogs.

I too love mushrooms, unlike the rest of my family, I’m in the minority. Just wondering if you know much about mushrooms, you’ve probably got the E-mail from Abundant Harvest about mushrooms. The price seems a little rich for my blood, but maybe you know something I don’t and they are actually selling for a good price and are worth snatching some up while they’re around. What do you think?

December 03, 2012 at 9:28 pm

@NIA , I didn’t get the email until a week after you asked this question. I’m not really sure. It’s low on my priority list, though.

Whenever my kids have friends over we do individual pizzas. I put all the topping in separate bowls and they get to create their own pizza. They love it.

April 27, 2012 at 5:49 pm

Perfect timing. Really, how did you know pizza is on the menu? I will be doing this because we all like different things on our pizza.

April 27, 2012 at 8:35 pm

@Micha , it’s Friday night, isn’t it?

April 27, 2012 at 12:35 pm

Can you share a little more about what you put on the ones you freeze, when in the process you freeze them, and how you store them? I’m thinking this could be a great thing for us but I’d love to know more about how you recommend going about it. Thanks so much, for this and for all your great posts!

April 27, 2012 at 12:40 pm

I simply cool the extra pizzas, wrap in foil and stick them in a freezer bag to freeze. To reheat, I find it best to thaw completely and then reheat in a 350 oven for about 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted. You could nuke them, but the crust will be rubbery.

April 27, 2012 at 7:39 pm

@Jessica , Thank you so much for the information! (Had your baked chicken tonight for dinner and love your recipes!) Thanks again.

Do you have any hacks for making these gluten free?

May 21, 2023 at 2:38 pm

I’d recommend trying this recipe .

April 27, 2012 at 8:46 am

do you freeze them after you cook them then just toss int he microwave to warm???

@Becca , cool completely after baking, wrap in foil and slip into a freezer bag. Then thaw and reheat in a 350 oven for 5 to 10 minutes.

We make homemade pizza every Friday night and love it. I did a post once, breaking down the cost of making our own vs. ordering out – a HUGE difference, plus it was damage control on our digestive systems. It’s a family affair, and hope it is a memory for the kids as they get older.

I hadn’t thought about freezing pizzas… that may be an option as we get further into homeschool. Thanks Jessica & Cherie for the idea!

@Tiffany @ DontWastetheCrumbs , I froze small pizzas long before homeschooling. LOL. I just like pizza.

You’ve given me a craving! When I was growing up, my mom would make these but use biscuit dough instead of pizza dough. Yum! I think I’ll have to make some…soon.

April 27, 2012 at 4:48 am

LOL your homeschooling brain is showing. Slices of foil wrapped frozen pizza are a prime lunchbox element here!

That said I have a batch of Artisan Pizza in 5 dough in the fridge which will become some smaller pizzas tonight – leftover meatloaf will substitute for meatballs for the girls, canned mushrooms for the boy, not sure what will float my boat.

Will have to ask my feta-chomper if she’d like some of that on her pie!

16 Tips You Need When Making Mini Pizzas

Mini pizzas with tools and ingredients

The jury is still out on whether we can classify mini pizzas as a snack or a meal, but no matter what they are, they sure do hit the spot.

You might assume that mini pizzas are easy to make at home because they're much smaller than a standard takeout pie. Plus, you don't have to worry about tossing your dough, stretching it thinly so it doesn't tear, and storing your awkwardly-sized leftovers in your already-cramped fridge. But mini pizzas open the door for complications of their own, including finding a suitably sturdy base to support your toppings, deciding how much sauce and cheese to add, and most importantly, discovering the best way to give your mini pizzas pizzazz.

As mini pizza enthusiasts, we've done the heavy lifting to provide you with the best tips, tricks, and secrets to hack this tiny yet delicious food. Here are some of our recommendations for making tasty and structurally sound mini pizzas at home.

Use a pre-made pizza base for the easiest recipe

The fact that you can go with a traditional pizza base for your mini pies or opt for something a little more sophisticated is both a blessing and a curse. We love the familiar taste of a Neapolitan pie, complete with its chewy, wood-fired crust. But the litany of other base options opens up the opportunity for experimenting with unconventional ingredients and finding something truly spectacular.

If you consider yourself a pizza purist, you'll want to use pizza dough as the base for your mini pies. Luckily, brands like Pillsbury make mini pizza crusts that allow you to pop open the can, unfurl the small rounds of pizza, top them with your favorite options, and bake. It's easy, convenient, and rather inexpensive. But you can also just use plain, store-bought pizza dough that's been stretched out and sliced with a biscuit cutter into your desired shapes. The trick to getting the most pies from your pizza dough with this method is to first allow the refrigerated dough to come up to room temperature before trying to handle it. This will give you the best stretch and make for easy handling.

Swap canned biscuit dough for the crust

If you don't have access to pre-made pizza dough rounds, canned biscuits will give you an easy option for quick mini pizzas . The dough is flaky, easy to separate from the can, and has all of the qualities of a good pizza dough — besides actually being made of pizza dough. The trick to getting the most pizza-like experience from flaky, store-bought biscuits is to roll each one out with a rolling pin to flatten it. This will prevent the flaky layers from rising as the mini crusts bake.

Once your mini pizzas are rolled out, you'll want to coat them in olive oil and dried herbs, like a standard Italian seasoning medley or just plain oregano, and pre-bake the pizzas in the oven for about 10 minutes. This will give the dough a chance to firm up, in turn preventing you from overcooking your sauce and cheese. Once you smother your toppings on the top of each round, you can finish the mini pies off in your oven. It's a simple snack idea that will help you kill off the leftover can of biscuits you have in your fridge.

Bake your dough in a muffin tray for evenly-sized cups

Deep-dish pizza is hard to replicate at home in general, but it's even tougher when you hit your pizza with a shrink gun. Luckily, you can use this muffin tin hack for effortlessly easy mini pizzas that you can feel proud to serve as an appetizer at your next dinner party or indulge in when your hangover lingers a little bit too long.

You can use biscuit dough, pizza dough, or whatever appropriate substitute you have in your kitchen. Gently tuck your dough rounds into a greased muffin tin to form little cups. From there, you can carefully layer in your sauce, cheese, and desired toppings until you reach the rim. Unlike conventional pizza, which always takes way too long to cook in the oven, these cups will cook in about 15 minutes, thanks to their small size. They're also handheld and easy to customize in your tray, which is perfect for when you can't commit to eating an entire 12-inch Hawaiian pizza.

Put it on a piece of sweet potato instead

Although we don't always like to admit it, there are more fiber-rich alternatives for pizza crust that will make us feel that good about getting our daily serving of veggies in. For example, you can make bite-sized sweet potato pizzas for a tasty snack or an elegant dinner party. These tubers have a profoundly sweet flavor and a bright color that will contrast any sweet or savory topping you complete them with.

You'll want to start by cutting your potato into ½-inch rounds and pre-baking it to soften the texture. For the best results, use sweet potatoes that are wide and long, as this will allow you enough surface area for your toppings.

Some of our favorite pairings for these unconventional pizzas are goat cheese, pecans, and a drizzle of honey. You can also go super fancy with a few garnishing sprigs of thyme. Red sauce and mozzarella are more typical pizza toppings that work well with this base, and we're sure that the soft texture of the sweet potato will take this duo to new heights.

Use eggplant rounds instead of traditional crust

Eggplants are one of the most underappreciated fruits you can find in your standard grocery store. While they're perfectly delicious fried and smothered in cheese, they can also be used for a light baba ganoush with tahini and other Mediterranean flavors. And now, you can add eggplant mini pizza to your list of ways to utilize the ingredient.

Eggplants are very wet fruits, even if they don't appear so at first glance. To make these rounds for your mini pizzas, you must allocate enough time to salt your eggplant slices and allow the water to sweat out slowly. After you've dried your slices, bake the wedges until lightly brown before saucing, cheesing, and topping your wedges. We recommend adding crumbled, pre-cooked sausage and going big with fresh herbs like basil, thyme, and tarragon. Since the eggplants are relatively neutral in flavor, the slices will easily absorb any toppings you put onto them.

Use English muffins for a sturdy pizza option

As children of Middle America, we can assure you that we have eaten our fair share of English muffin pizzas over the years. It's a go-to staple for when parents are running late at work or when the request for takeout gets firmly shut down.

The English muffin is the perfect vehicle for some tomato sauce and mozzarella. Its exterior is crispy and covered in a layer of cornmeal, while the inside is plush and soft and gives you a satisfying mouthfeel when you bite into it. Plus, unlike other bases, English muffins are sturdy enough to hold the weight of an especially wet sauce or toppings that you sliced a bit too coarsely. Pop one of these muffins open with a fork or your fingers, add your toppings, and bake it in a toaster oven just until the bottom gets crispy.

Make a thin crust version with lasagna sheets

Whatever you do, don't tell Nonna that we repurposed lasagna noodles to make the ultimate mini pizzas. And although you too might be skeptical of this tip, considering that lasagna sheets are much thinner than even the crispiest apizza, we can assure you that it does actually work.

You'll want to first start by boiling the pasta sheets in water until they're flexible — but not flimsy. Once the sheets reach the al dente stage, transfer them to a lined baking sheet and dry them with a paper towel. Then, add a light amount of sauce to avoid making the pasta too rubbery and soggy, a light layer of toppings, and bake the avant-garde pizza in the oven just so that it becomes sturdy again. This hack certainly won't work for heavy toppings like shrimp or chunky sauce, but it will suffice when the craving for a mini pizza strikes and sends you to your pantry in a hunger-motivated frenzy.

Grab the puff pastry from your freezer

We firmly believe that everyone should keep a box of puff pastry in their freezer at all times. It's the secret to making easy pigs in a blanket or when you crave a simple spin on apple pie, but it can also be used to replace pizza dough. Robert Irvine uses this slept-on freezer staple for his mini pizzas — and we think you should, too.

To help these mini pizzas reach their loftiest potential, Irvine bakes the frozen pastry dough, slathered in egg wash, in the oven for at least ten minutes before he constructs his pizzas. Then, after he adds his favorite pizza toppings, he bakes the mini pies in the oven for a mere four minutes. As is the case with other types of mini pizzas, the short oven time is not sufficient to cook ingredients like bacon or sausage safely, so this should be done ahead of time. You should also par-cook any hard veggies like peppers or onions (that you don't want to be crisp) to ensure they are soft enough to bite into.

Get crunchy with your favorite crackers

If you've exhausted your dough options, you may just have to turn to your snack cabinet next. You should always have a box of crackers in your pantry for crumbling on top of your mac and cheese, breading your fried chicken, or, in this case, making super small mini pizzas. These one-bite wonders can be tailored to whatever cracker base you have in your kitchen, from butterfly crackers to Saltines.

Unlike many other mini pizza bases, crackers are already crispy. So, they won't need nearly the same amount of time in the oven — which is perfect for when you need a quick snack after classes or between work assignments. Simply place your crackers on a baking sheet, add a small dollop of sauce, and sprinkle with shredded cheese. The limited surface area of these crackers can make it difficult to top with your favorite pepperoni or pineapple chunks, so this is one mini pizza variation that is best kept simple. A couple of minutes in the oven is all it takes to melt your cheese into the cracker.

Cook frozen mini pizzas in an air fryer

Companies have long capitalized on our affinity for pizza with frozen pizza bites. But the problem with cooking a frozen pizza , regardless of its size, is that the pieces always get soggy. We admit that we can't enjoy this spongy treat, especially when the lackluster sauce and powdery cheese set it back even further.

The easiest way to get perfectly crisp frozen mini pizzas is to bake them in your air fryer rather than a conventional oven. Not only will you save time, thanks to the rapid preheating function and small size of the appliance, but you'll also get a circulating airflow that will encourage the top, bottom, and sides of the pizza to cook evenly. You can forgo the parchment paper lining to make your crust even crispier. However, this decision might come at a cost, opening the door for molten cheese to stick to every crevasse of your appliance and making it nearly impossible to clean.

Cover the center of your pizza bagel with a pepperoni slice

We couldn't mention mini pizzas without mentioning one of the top-tier options, which also happens to be a repurposed breakfast food. You can use your mini bagels as a base for your pizza, especially when you're craving a higher ratio of crust to toppings.

The main issue with these bagels is their shape. While we love that we can easily fit a mini bagel half in the palm of our hand, we don't love that the center hole allows molten sauce and cheese to drip through and onto our fingers, plate, and seemingly every surface underneath. Luckily, we have a solution. A well-placed pepperoni slice will ensure a mess-free pizza bagel and capitalize on extra topping space. The only caveat for this tip is that you'll need the pepperoni slice to be slightly larger than the hole you intend to cover. While this often isn't a challenge for mini bagels, it might be for standard-size deli bagels.

Make things fancy with pizza roll-ups instead

Let's be frank, serving mini pizzas at a dinner party likely won't impress your guests. But an elaborately tucked and wrapped crescent roll adorned with traditional pizza toppings might.

You can easily transform your mini pizzas into something more sophisticated with canned crescent rolls . Pop open a can, cut the pieces into individual triangles with your hands, and carefully add the toppings to the roll. We recommend leaving just a little bit of buffer space around the edges to ensure that your molten cheese won't pour out and burn on the baking sheet. If you aren't the neatest cheese sprinkler (and honestly, who is?), you can always substitute the dairy product with a low-moisture cheese stick. Toss a couple pieces of pepperoni into the rolls, too, before folding and baking until perfectly golden brown.

This recipe is great for dinner parties because you can fill and shape the rolls a few hours before you need to bake them. They're loved by kids, adults, and anyone who is feeling particularly hungry.

Serve it with a dipping sauce

We can't help but notice that dipping sauce is often considered an insulting addition to pizza. After all, if your pizza isn't good enough, smother it with ranch, and you won't be able to taste a thing. But really, dipping sauces and spreads can elevate your mini pizzas and make them more fun and tasty to indulge in.

The obvious toppings for pizza include ranch dressing and marinara, but you can also make use of your favorite aioli recipe to craft an extra-special pizza. Mix mayo and hot sauce together, or go with a garlic base for a punchy flavor that complements a solid Italian pizza sauce. Another sweet and spicy condiment that needs to make its way to your mini pizza is hot honey. Drizzle it on the pizzas right after it's done baking, or pour a little bit in a ramekin for dipping.

Don't neglect your toppings

Just because these pizzas are small doesn't mean that you have to limit yourself to the flavor possibilities you add on top. Rather than just sticking to the conventional tomato sauce, cheese, and three carefully placed slices of deli pepperoni, you can expand your palate to include a diverse range of toppings.

For example, a sprinkle of punchy scallions can add a bit of a crunch to your tiny pizzas, while going with leftover taco meat is a savvy way to make the most of what your refrigerator can offer. Moreover, the size of these rounds will make it easy for you to experiment with topping combinations that you may not want to commit to on an entire 14-inch pizza. Pair bacon with a drizzle of maple syrup, or opt for a thinly sliced fennel bulb with a sharp arugula. Get creative, get messy, and have fun with it!

Avoid overloading your mini pizzas with sauce and toppings

A major limitation in preparing your mini pizzas is that they are rather small and delicate. Moreover, if you're using a thin base, you'll want to be wary about how much seepage your toppings might be creating on your bite-sized pies.

The truth is, your pizza does not need a wave of tomato sauce to course over it. It just needs a very thin layer of it to cover every bite. Depending on the size of your pizza, you should cap this out at a couple of teaspoons at the absolute most. As you can probably assume, the same standard will apply to your cheese and other toppings. You only need a few specks of cheese to cover each bite of the pie, otherwise, you risk making it too heavy to crisp up in your oven. You should also opt for a low-moisture cheese to avoid making your crust too soggy.

Opt for a flavorful, non-tomato sauce

Your mini pizzas are not limited to tomato sauce alone. Swapping your store-bought sauce out with a brighter, more flavorful base may elevate your mini pizzas in ways you never thought possible. Some of the most delicious alternatives to classic pizza sauce include a summery pesto (either homemade or store-bought) topped with sun-dried tomatoes or roasted red peppers. If you're looking to include a diverse portfolio of cheeses, experiment with goat cheese, feta, or smoked cheddar, and stick to a basic herb-infused olive oil so that the cheese takes center stage.

Store-bought sauces, including barbecue and buffalo sauce, can also help give your pizza a more casual flavor. It's important to remember that these sauces tend to be very viscous, so a teaspoon or two will go a long way when adding it to your pizza. Pair these toppings with leftover shredded or rotisserie chicken and bacon for a great football-watching snack that conveniently fits in the palm of your hand.

Looking for a recipe that the whole family can agree on? It's this one! Mini pizzas are easy, fun and 100% customizable. Just pick your favorite toppings. 🙂

Three mini pizzas with various toppings on a white plate with a blue and tan plaid napkin.

I can never seem to have enough kid-friendly recipes on hand to keep things interesting and relatively healthy. And these mini pizzas are near the top of the list (hint: adults love them too.)

I usually just use store-bought pizza dough and sauce for this recipe but if you like making everything from scratch, here are a couple of recipes for an easy homemade pizza dough and pizza sauce .

If you're looking for other delicious family-friendly Italian recipes to make, these easy calzones or lasagna roll ups are super fun and also make great make-ahead meals.

🌿 Ingredients

📝 instructions, 📋 substitutions, 🔪 equipment.

You'll only need a few base ingredients to make mini pizzas, and the rest are completely optional; just pick the toppings you like best.

Mini pizza ingredients in glass food prep bowls on a brown wood table

  • all-purpose flour
  • pizza dough
  • pizza sauce
  • shredded pizza blend cheese (or mozzarella )

Optional toppings:

  • sliced pepperoni or sausage
  • sliced mushrooms , onions , or green pepper
  • diced pineapple

See recipe card below for exact quantities.

First, preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Then, coat a cutting board or large plate with a generous dusting of flour.

Place the dough on the floured surface, turning once of twice to coat, and divide a batch of dough into four even sections. Using your hands or a rolling pin, press or roll each of the dough sections into a flat, circular shape no more than one centimeter thick.

Pizza dough on a floured cutting board with a wooden rolling pin

For each mini pizza, place about a quarter of the sauce in the middle of the dough and use the back of a spoon to spread it around the dough, almost to the edges, and then sprinkle with a quarter of the cheese plus any additional toppings desired.

Four mini pizzas with various toppings assembled on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

Place all of your pizzas onto the lined baking sheet and bake for 14-16 minutes or until the edges and toppings just start to turn golden brown.

Let your pizzas cool for at least 10 minutes on the baking sheet before serving.

Here are a couple of modifications to accommodate special diets:

  • Gluten free - use gluten free pizza dough mix to make gluten free dough; you can use the same mix as flour to sprinkle on your work surface, or just use any gluten free flour to dust
  • Dairy free - use any dairy free shredded cheese

Just a few pieces of equipment are required for this recipe:

  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper (optional, but recommended for easy cleanup)
  • cutting board to flour and roll out the pizza dough (or just use a large plate)
  • rolling pin (optional, to roll the dough out quickly)

Leftover mini pizzas stay fresh in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months. They also make great make-ahead meals!

You'll want to note that the cooking time largely depends on the thickness of your pizzas. If you're unsure if your pizza is done, cut through one and make sure the dough in the very middle is cooked through. If not, just cook for another couple of minutes and test it again.

  • Prep: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Coat a cutting board or large plate with a generous dusting of flour.
  • Roll: Place the dough on the floured surface, turning once of twice to coat, and divide the dough into four even sections. Using your hands or a rolling pin, press or roll each of the dough sections into a flat, circular shape no more than one centimeter thick.
  • Top: For each mini pizza, place a quarter of the sauce in the middle of the dough and use the back of a spoon to spread it around the dough almost to the edges, and then sprinkle with a quarter of the cheese plus any additional toppings desired.
  • Bake: Place all of the pizzas onto the lined baking sheet and bake for 14-16 minutes or until the edges and toppings just start to turn golden brown (see notes).
  • Enjoy: Let your pizzas cool for at least 10 minutes on the baking sheet, serve and enjoy! Leftover mini pizzas stay fresh in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Mini Pizza Recipe

Published: Aug 20, 2022 · Updated: Aug 20, 2022 by Saif Al Deen Odeh with 25 Comments

Mini Pizza Recipe is a little round pizza that is mixed with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, sausages and different olives you like. It is perfect finger food for kids and adults as well.

Recipe Ingredients for Toppings

Recipe ingredients for the dough, the list of kitchen equipment needed, how to store in the freezer, step-by-step instructions, what to serve with pizza, frequently asked questions, 📋 recipe card.

I remember my Aunt made a delicious tiny round pizza which is fluffy and delicious. This pizza is thick and soft at the same time which is perfect to eat pizza with pasta and  garlic bread.

In this post, I will be showing you my secret Aunt's recipe of mini homemade pizza, where you can share with your kids, families and friends. This is perfect for birthday parties, family celebration and it is freezer-friendly.

Although cooking pizza is relatively easy, the preparation of the ingredient is a bit time-consuming. For the Mini pizza recipe, there are two things you should prepare: Ingredients for Pizza Toppings and Pizza Dough .

phd mini pizza

Sausage: I am using frozen prepared beef sausage or beef hot dog that you can get in the grocery stores. I will highly recommend use the smoked flavor since it makes the pizza taste better

Cheese: I am using Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheese for this recipe. Without these cheeses, the pizza will taste boring and bland.

Vegetable: The only vegetable toppings I put is black olives and green olives. It gives a saltiness taste of the pizza which fits perfectly love

Olive Oil: I am using Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It will help make the texture of the mini pizza dough soft and fluffy.

Tomato Sauce: This is a homemade sauce which is a mixture of tomato pasta, warm water and sugar.

Here are the important ingredients I used to make the mini pizza dough:

  • All Purpose Flour
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Instant Yeast
  • Salt & Sugar
  • I prefer milk over water because it gives a nice flavor of the pizza crust
  • Prepare an additional ½ cup of milk/water when mixing and kneading the pizza.

Nonstick Tray: You will need a nonstick tray or pan when baking the pizza since it will be easier to remove it afterward.

Oven: Since I am living in an apartment, I am using a convection oven, and it works perfectly. It doesn't really matter what type of oven you used: Conventional , Gas stove or conventional oven .

Wooden Dough Roller : You may need this to make a perfect circle of mini pizza. But, I rather used my hand since it is just a small pizza, and you don't really need any roller. If you want to roll the mini pizza using your hand, just add a drop of olive oil in your finger, and this will do the trick.

I stored my pizzas in a large plastic food container. If you don't have enough space, you can always add another plastic container. Also, make sure you closed the lid well to prevent the air from entering inside since it will spoil the food earlier.

If you store in the fridge, it can last up to 2 weeks. But if you prefer in the freezer, it can last up to 1 to 1 ½ months maximum . This will help prevent or slow down the growth of bacteria.

There are two things you should prepare for mini pizza recipe: the dough, and topping of the pizza.

I. Making the Mini Pizza Dough

phd mini pizza

  • Mix the milk with the yeast and sugar in a bowl.
  • Transfer into another bowl that contains flour, oil, and salt, and mix it gently.
  • While mixing and kneading the pizza dough in a bowl, add ¼ cup of milk/water.
  • If the dough is still hard and dry, add another ¼ cup of milk and repeat the process.
  • Once it is soft enough, covered it with a towel for 1.5 to 2 hours to help the dough grow.

II. Baking the Pizza

phd mini pizza

  • For the topping, use your hand to make a small circle of the pizza.
  • Brush the olive oil, and then add tomato sauce.
  • Next, you add the sausage and olives.
  • Lastly, you add the cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  • Do take note that before you put the pizza in a tray, make sure you rub the tray with oil. This will help remove the mini pizza easier after baking in the oven.

Mini Pizza

Pizza goes really well pastas, soup, salad and bread. Here are my homemade recipes that I like to serve with pizza:

  • Chicken Alfredo Pasta
  • Chicken Pesto Pasta with Sun Dried Tomatoes
  • Turkish Shepherd Salad

1. How to reheat the pizza?

To heat your food, I use a microwave where I warm them for 30 seconds to 1 minute using medium intensity. Make sure you thaw them for 5 to 10 minutes before heating in the microwave. This will prevent breaking off the topping of the pizzas.

2. What other vegetables topping to put for pizza?

If you are not a fan of olives, you can replace it with bell pepper, mushrooms or onion in your mini homemade pizza.

phd mini pizza

Ingredients    1x 2x 3x

  • 3 cup of flour
  • 2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 cup of warm milk
  • 2 teaspoon of yeast
  • ½ cup of milk (use ¼ cup first and knead. If the dough is dry, add another ¼ cup)
  • ¾ cup of olive oil
  • 1 to 1 ½ cup of tomato sauce
  • 2 cup of chopped hot dog or sausage
  • 2 cup of combined green and black olives
  • 2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Pizza dough.

  • Add a warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Mix it all together in a large cup or a bowl.
  • Transfer them into another bowl that contain flour, salt, and vegetable oil. Mix them well together.
  • While mixing and kneading the pizza dough using your hand, add ¼ cup of water/milk. If the texture of the pizza dough is still dry and hard, add another ¼ cup of milk/water and repeat the process. A ½ cup is more than enough to make the texture of the dough soft and fluffy.
  • Cover the dough with a towel and keep it in room temperature for 1 to 2 hours maximum. The yeast will help grow the pizza dough. The picture below is only based on just 1 hour.

Topping of the Mini Pizza

  • Rub the tray with oil. This is important because after baking the pizza, it can easily be removed.
  • Soak your finger with olive oil, and make a round tiny pizza using your hand
  • Brush the dough with olive oil, and then add tomato sauce. Next, you add sausage and olives. And then lastly, you add mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  • Transfer the tray into the oven and let it cooked for 10 minutes in 180 degrees Celsius. Make sure the oven is already hot enough before putting in the oven.
  • If the Pizza dough is sticky, add more flour
  • You can keep in the freezer up to 1 to ½ months maximum or 2 weeks maximum if in the refrigerator

The pizza topping says 3/4 cup olive oil?? That must be a typo isn't it?

January 22, 2021 at 2:14 am

Hi Jody. Actually its not because when you make the topping (tomato sauce, olives, sausages) of each pizza, you will have to brush the dough with olive oil. For 20 to 25 pieces, that will need 3/4 or even a cup of olive oil.

What kind of flour and milk did you use?

May 21, 2020 at 4:21 pm

I used all purpose white flour and ordinary fresh milk. You can use any kind of milk and it doesn't matter at all.

Hi, how accurate is the calories of the recipe? 1 mini pizza @ 12 calories??!

October 21, 2020 at 1:27 am

Hi Ameer. Sorry about confusion. It is actually 240 calories per one serving. I know it might seem too high, but this is one heavy and thick mini pizza since it has mozzarella & cheddar cheese, sausages, olives, olive oil and tomato sauce. You can already get full with just 3 slices. Thanks

Mini Homemade Pizzas

Published: Feb 5, 2024 · Modified: Feb 5, 2024 by Farah Abumaizar · 12 Comments

phd mini pizza

These homemade mini pizzas are so easy to make, using a 30 minute mini pizza dough recipe, and are the perfect lunchbox snacks. The dough is so pillowy and soft, and is the perfect vessel for pizza sauce, cheese and any toppings you like. These freeze SO well, so are great to make ahead.

mini pizzas with olives on a baking sheet

Why is this mini pizza recipe so good?

Ingredients you need to make these:, how to make the easiest mini homemade pizzas:, how to serve these individual pizzas:, storing leftovers:, expert tips and tricks:, recipe faqs:, for more delicious dough recipes:, homemade mini pizzas.

This is a really nostalgic recipe for us. There’s a bakery in Bahrain (Tariq Pastries) that makes mini pizzas and sells them by the dozen. There’s usually a box of them at any gathering or kids birthday party or event I attend. We like them so much, we knew we wanted to create our own version.

I love these right out of the oven when the cheese is melty and gooey, but my husband loves these cold out the fridge.

There’s just something so satisfying about a pizza in a little individual form, so easy to eat, especially when the dough is so soft and comforting.

  • They are the perfect gathering or party snack, no plate required, handheld and delicious.
  • Mini cheese pizzas are so cute and fun to eat, and also fun to make with kids. It’s a great way to get them to customize their own toppings and encourage them to be creative.
  • They freeze so well, so I love having a bunch in the freezer to pull out and use for lunchbox or playdate snacks.

ingredients for making mini pizzas on white background

Flour: I almost always use all purpose flour because it’s what I have on hand, but for a chewier pizza crust you can use bread flour.

Instant yeast: to get that dough rising nice and puffy

Sugar: a pinch of sugar to activate the yeast

Salt: a little of this to enhance the dough flavor

Garlic powder and dried basil : you can leave these out for a plain pizza crust, but I really like the subtle hints of flavor they give

Olive oil: a must in pizza dough! Try to use good quality extra virgin olive oil

Warm water: You want this to be lukewarm, not hot enough to scald your finger if you stick it in, but warmer than room temperature to activate the yeast. If you have a thermometer, aim for 105-115 degrees F (40-46C).

Pizza sauce: You can absolutely go with storebought pizza sauce, which is something I do when I’m in a hurry. You can also use your favorite homemade pizza sauce- here’s my go to recipe.

Mozzarella cheese: I find it easier to use sliced mozzarella cheese, so I can cut them in neat little squares and top each pizza with a square. You can absolutely use shredded mozzarella cheese instead!

Toppings of choice: I mimic the bakery that we like, and top with just one sliced black olive per pizza. That’s my kids go to! Of course, you can also do a pepperoni slice, diced bell pepper, mushrooms, whatever you like! I’d recommend chopping whatever topping small so that they fit on your little mini homemade pizzas.

dry ingredients for pizza dough in clear glass bowl.

  • Preheat oven to 410F (210C). Make the dough: Combine 1 cup of the flour with the yeast, sugar, salt, garlic powder and basil in a large bowl.
  • Add olive oil and warm water and use a wooden spoon to mix thoroughly.
  • Add in another 1 cup of flour, and stir. If dough is still too sticky and unmanageable, keep adding flour gradually until a maximum of another 1/3 cup is added.
  • Transfer dough to a greased bowl. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and allow to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until puffy and doubled in size. Remove from bowl and knead gently just a few times until dough is deflated and smooth.
  • Using a lightly floured rolling pin, roll the dough out into a thin layer.
  • With a cookie cutter, or the rim of a glass cup, cut out dough circles, and place onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • Add a teaspoon or so of pizza sauce to the middle of each dough circle, leaving a border of dough without sauce.
  • Cut each slice of mozzarella into 4 squares (or a size good to cover the pizza sauce) and place on top of the pizza sauce on each pizza.
  • Add a black olive to the center of each pizza OR topping of choice.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown on the bottom, with bubbly melted cheese, don’t overbake.

two kids hands holding a mini pizza in each hand.

I like eating these warm out the oven. You can serve these on a big platter, with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping. You can also use these for on the go snacks, perfect for lunchboxes.

To make a complete meal, pair them with a side salad or veggie sticks and sip.

mini pizzas on kitchen cloth with pizza sauce and sliced black olives in the background.

  • Leftover mini pizzas will last in the fridge in an airtight container for 4 days.

These freeze very well for up to 3 months in a freezer bag or airtight container. Flash freeze them by placing the cooked pizzas on a baking sheet in the freezer until hard, then placing them in a freezer bag, this way you can pull out individual mini pizzas without them sticking to each other.

  • You can reheat mini pizzas in the microwave briefly, start with just 10 seconds. You can microwave these straight from the freezer. If you take them out of the freezer, you can place them in lunchboxes frozen, they’ll thaw quickly.

mini pizzas in rows of 3 on white background.

  • To prevent mini pizzas from becoming soggy, don’t overload them with sauce and toppings. Just place a little sauce, a square of cheese and just a teaspoon or so of toppings- make sure the toppings are chopped pretty small.
  • Make sure you are using lukewarm water, and letting the dough rise in a warm place to get it puffy and proofed, especially since we follow a short rising time.
  • Don’t overbake, you want the dough to be soft and fluffy. Start checking at 10 minutes, you just want a very light golden bottom.

Absolutely. You can even use tortilla that you cut into circles, you’ll bake for a lot less if using tortillas though.

Although mozzarella cheese is the classic cheese for pizzas, you can use whatever you like! Try feta cheese, goat cheese, or cheddar cheese for a different flavor.

Absolutely, they are very freezer friendly. Check the section above on storing leftovers for details on how to freeze them.

Yes, these would cook so well in an air fryer, at 375F (190C) for 6-7 minutes. An air fryer is actually a great way to reheat leftovers too.

  • From scratch:  Unlike storebought crusts or frozen pizzas, these homemade mini pizzas are made completely from scratch! That means you can control the sugar, salt, flavorings, and preservatives to ensure they’re a nutritious option for your family.
  • Quick & easy:  Since the pizza crust is made from yogurt dough, this pizza comes together incredibly fast. And you don’t even have to heat your oven!
  • Customizable:  Just like regular pizza, everyone in your family can decorate their own pizza with their favorite pizza toppings. As a bonus, you can cook them up in the oven if you don’t own an air fryer!

Ingredient Notes

Ingredients required to make healthy mini pizzas in air fryer or oven.

For the homemade pizza dough:

  • Whole wheat flour : I recommend using white whole wheat flour for extra fibre without the whole wheat flavor. All-purpose flour can be used as well if preferred.
  • Baking powder:  This will help your homemade dough to get a good rise, similar to a biscuit dough.
  • Salt:  This will activate the baking powder and make your dough more flavorful.
  • Greek yogurt:  This is the secret ingredient. Greek yogurt adds moisture, density and a mild tangy flavor, making this pizza dough so scrumptious!

For the mini pizzas:

  • Pizza sauce:  Use storebought marinara sauce or this homemade  low sodium pizza sauce recipe .
  • Shredded cheese:  The standard option is shredded mozzarella cheese, which melts into an ooey-gooey texture, but you can use whatever cheese you have on hand.
  • Toppings:  Gather a variety of toppings to make a pizza decorating bar!

Step-by-Step Instructions

The flour, baking powder and salt being mixed together in a bowl to make homemade pizza dough.

  • Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Add the Greek yogurt and mix until it becomes crumbly in texture.
  • Use your hands to knead the dough for a few minutes until it starts to come together into a ball. If it still feels too dry, add 1 tablespoon of additional Greek yogurt at a time until the dough resembles a pizza dough consistency.
  • Sprinkle a little flour on a flat surface and roll the dough until flat. I like to roll it out to about ¼ inch thickness for these mini pizzas, but you can roll it out to your desired thickness.
  • Use a circular cookie cutter or circular object such as a wide glass or mason jar lid to cut out small circles from the dough. Place the dough circles on a parchment paper-lined pan.
  • Spread a small amount of pizza sauce on each dough circle until evenly covered.
  • Add any optional toppings. Sprinkle cheese on top of the sauce and toppings on each dough circle.

How to Make Mini Pizzas in Air Fryer

Uncooked mini pizzas in air fryer basket.

  • Brush the air fryer basket or tray lightly with olive oil and place dough circles on the basket.
  • Air fry at 375° F for 5-7 minutes, or until cheese is golden brown and crust is slightly crispy. You may need to work in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer. Remove and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

How to Make Mini Pizzas in Oven

Cooked mini pizzas on a baking sheet.

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the crust gets slightly brown and crispy. The mini pizzas will puff up slightly while baking and deflate once cooled.

Tips for the best mini pizzas.

  • The number of mini pizzas this recipe makes will depend on how thin you roll the dough and the size of your cutter. I rolled mine about 1/4 inch thick and got about 12-14 4-inch mini pizzas.
  • If you don’t have whole wheat or white whole wheat flour on hand, you can also use all-purpose or self-rising flour. Just skip the baking powder and salt if you sub in self-rising flour instead.
  • You can also freeze the pizza dough circles ahead of time and then simply add the toppings and cook when ready to serve. You may need to add a few extra minutes to the cooking time if cooking from a frozen state.
  • To make these mini pizzas even more fun, you can cut the dough into fun shapes using cookie cutters before adding the toppings. Try heart, star or teddy bear pizzas!

Recipe FAQs

The secret to the perfect air fryer pizza is to get the temperature right. You want to set your air fryer at 375 degrees F for a crispy crust. Let the air fryer preheat before adding your personal pizzas to the air fryer tray. Spray the tray with cooking spray or place your pizza bases on a piece of parchment paper or air fryer paper liner and add it directly to the air fryer basket. This makes it easier to lift out and serve, too! You only need to cook these small pizzas for about 5-7 minutes or until the top of the pizza is golden brown and bubbly.

If you are hosting a party or trying to make a bunch of mini pizzas at once, you might realize your air fryer isn’t quite big enough for this air fryer pizza recipe. In that situation, set your conventional oven to 400 degrees F. They’ll need longer to bake (approximately 15-17 minutes), but you can fill several sheet trays with pizzas at once.

To make homemade pizza from scratch, set your air fryer to 375 degrees F and let it preheat for at least 5 minutes before adding your pizzas.

Storage Guidelines

  • To refrigerate: Store leftover pizzas in an airtight container in the fridge or wrap each mini pizza in plastic wrap. You can keep them in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • To freeze: You can also freeze your pizzas for up to 2 months and thaw them in the fridge for a few hours before reheating and serving!
  • To reheat: Pop your pizzas into a preheated air fryer set to 375 degrees F for about 5 minutes or microwave for 1 minute.

Mini Pizza Toppings

Whether you’re serving this mini pizza recipe for a party, your next pizza night, or to pack in a lunch box, don’t forget the toppings! This is a great way to entice your little ones to help you in the kitchen and sneak in some extra protein or veggies.

Try a combination of any of the following:

  • Italian sausage
  • Mini pepperoni
  • Leftover chicken
  • Italian ground beef
  • Bell pepper
  • Sliced onions
  • Fresh basil

Two homemade mini pizzas on a plate with cucumbers and blueberries.

Serving Suggestions

To make these easy air fryer pizzas into a complete meal, serve it with some extra veggies or protein or add a side salad or two for a crowd!

  • Green salad
  • 4 Ingredient Pasta Salad
  • Sliced veggies with tzatziki sauce or  high protein hummus
  • Veggie Tots in Air Fryer
  • Air Fryer Zucchini Fries
  • Sliced fruit

Recipe Variations

  • Skip the dough:  If you don’t have time to make dough from scratch, use English muffins, mini naan bread, or bagels instead. Add your sauce, cheese, and toppings. Bake until the cheese is bubbly & golden!
  • Hawaiian mini pizzas : Add a slice of Canadian bacon and some pineapple for a sweet and salty flavor.
  • Breakfast pizza:  Instead of marinara sauce, spread some pesto and top with scrambled eggs, mozzarella, and sliced cherry tomatoes for an easy meal. Yum!

My Feeding Philosophy

I get it. Feeding kids can be tough. I’ve learned that the key to getting kids to try new foods is to keep it fresh and exciting, get them involved, and inject a little enthusiasm and creativity into how you serve them up. Above all else, don’t give up. If you’re serving balanced meals and snacks throughout the day, then you’re doing a good job!
