The Best Educational Roblox Games for Science Loving Kids

In the vast world of Roblox, there are many different game styles. From RPGs to obbys, your kiddo is sure to find something they love to play. However, one category tends to be less popular — educational games. 

But why? Kids love to learn (really, they do). But after a full week of school, most children are not jumping at the chance to play these overtly educational video games. They want to relax and have fun. Take a brain break.

But there are some Roblox games that find a good mix of fun and (more explicit) learning. And today we’re going to explore two of them — the Roblox science games Mission: Mars and Pathogen Patrol.

Is your child interested in space and engineering? Point them to Mission: Mars !

In this Roblox game (developed by the Boston Museum of Science and Filament Games), players design their own Mars Rover to complete missions on the Red Planet’s surface.

This game requires a lot of critical thinking skills . And since the game mechanics and design are based on real-life NASA data, it’s easy to see how this game can translate into real-life problem-solving skills. 

One quick note — playing this game on a tablet is tricky. It’s especially hard to control the rover, and that may frustrate some kids right off the bat. They’ll get the hang of it after a while. But, if possible, we recommend playing Mission: Mars on a computer.

What your child can learn from Pathogen Patrol

So many things!

As we mentioned, the tutorials take you through a lot of learning. Your child will discover the names of different white blood cells — like dendritic and macrophage — and what they do. Pathogen Patrol will also teach how the body responds to infection. 

There’s also a lot of big-picture learning going on. The human body is a complicated system. The game breaks it all down into fun bits of info, but they don’t shy away from the complexity of it either.

Even playing this game as an adult, we had to work hard to remember what each cell’s primary function was. And then keep in mind the likely next steps while fighting our microscopic battles. This strategic thinking creates many great learning moments for kids (and adults alike)! 

Not Every Kid Will Love Educational Roblox Games

Roblox offers a variety of math-tastic adventures that can be incredibly beneficial for parents looking for educational games for their kids. Did you know that many Roblox Maths games can be helpful for children with ADHD? They are designed to improve cognitive skills like attention, problem-solving, and memory. Exciting and engaging gameplay keeps kids, who have trouble focusing, engaged for longer periods of time.

Whilst there are many games that use the word Math/s in their name, I’ve found when playing them they’re often so buggy or boring that they’re not worth introducing to my students – so I figured why not make a list of the best Maths games on Roblox, to save you the headache of trying them all out yourself! There are quite a few other games that I use with my students that aren’t exclusively Maths related but still have a lot of great mathematical content inside, which I’ll include in another blog post later – so stay tuned!

All the games we’ve listed below offer adjustable difficulty levels, allowing players to choose a level that’s appropriate for their skills and attention span. Some examples of the Maths games on Roblox that may be beneficial for neurodivergent children include The Math Obby, Tower of Math, and Math Difficulty Chart Obby.

The questions and courses also generate differently each time, so your child will never get bored of playing through the stages!

Each stage is designed to be both fun and educational, and as players level up, they’ll be showered with exciting in-game rewards: a jetpack, wings, or an ever-growing zoo of different pets that will follow them around! ‘ Math Difficulty Chart Obby ’ is a fresh face on the Roblox Maths scene, and a very exciting one at that. It’s a rather unique game on Roblox that you don’t want to miss trying out – the developer PerfectlySquared has put a lot of love into it! 

While it follows the familiar formula of navigating obstacle courses and solving Maths problems, what I LOVE about this game is the way it covers so many of the topics within Key Stage 1 – 3, with most other games being fairly basic in the Maths they include. Each level is designed to be both fun and educational, with courses that range from simple jumps to more complex challenges like dodging obstacles and sliding blocks. The game also features a unique difficulty chart that allows players to choose their own challenge level based on their Maths skills, ensuring that players of all ages and abilities can enjoy the game. 

It is still a bit rough around the edges as the developer fine-tunes the perfect balance of learning and enjoyment, something very important in any Maths game, so if your child isn’t used to Obbies on Roblox then perhaps play the other games in this list first.

Introducing ‘ Math Obby ’, the grandad of cool Maths games on Roblox, created by the legendary (in my opinion) 0bid0 , a 16-year-old Roblox developer who I’ve featured in one of my livestreams !  It combines fun platformer-style gameplay with Maths problems and was the inspiration for me to start creating my own Maths games on the platform. 

In this game, players navigate through a series of obstacle courses while solving Maths equations at the same time. The obstacles range from simple jumps to more complex challenges to polish your kids’ parkour skills. The Maths problems are designed to test a player’s knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. A fantastic game to practise general mathematics on Roblox! Overall, Math Obby provides an entertaining and educational experience that is suitable for players of all ages.

Found in the ‘ Fun Creative Builders ’ Roblox Group, and created by ‘ NoFreeIPS ’, get ready to scale new heights with ‘ Tower of Math ’. This cool Roblox Maths game is an arcade-style experience that challenges players to use their Maths skills to climb, well, a tower! 

In the game, players will have to solve Maths problems to progress to the next level of the tower. As players conquer their way through it, the difficulty increases, and the levels become more challenging. However, there are no extreme Maths problems in this Roblox game, so it’s quite a pleasant climb!

But don’t worry, it’s not just about solving Maths problems – players also collect coins along the way they can use to skip some obstacles to climb even higher! It’s also possible to purchase some upgrades and fun items like flying carpets, at a fairly reasonable price compared to many other games on Roblox. With its compelling gameplay and educational content, Tower of Math is a fun and rewarding experience for players of all ages.

[5] Guess the Maths

‘ Guess the Maths ’, part of the ‘ Guess The ??? ’ series, is another fun Maths game on Roblox for kids. This experience presents players with a series of Maths problems, where they will have to use their critical thinking skills to figure out the answers. The questions are fairly basic in difficulty throughout the majority of the game, ensuring that players of all levels can enjoy the experience. There are a few upgrades that can be purchased through Robux at reasonable prices to make the game more enjoyable.

VRBlox  is a virtual reality drawing game and hangout spot for Roblox players. You get different tools and colors which you can use to draw objects in your full 3D space. Fans of other VR drawing games like Tiltbrush will be familiar with the concept.

You can hang out with 11 different players at one time while you play. VRBlox is less competitive than other games, but you can waste time playing it.

The community has an active set of moderators who ban those drawing anything inappropriate.

Road to Gramby’s Review – Largest Roblox Game

Road To Gramby’s  is an adventure Roblox VR game made for virtual reality players. You will play as a Fricklet and the goal of the game is to find Gramby.

The map is large and procedurally-generated, so you’ll never play the same thing twice. Along your journey, you have to collect parts that attach or power up your vehicle. You’ll also randomly encounter different buildings and characters in the game as you travel.

The Road to Gramby’s features 11 different biomes, each with a unique landscape and properties. Reaching the next biome is how you know you are getting closer to Gramby’s. Some biomes feature challenges that you need to pass in order to move on.

Cook Burgers Review – Roblox VR Game Similar to Cook-Out

Cook Burgers  takes place in a burger joint. The game aims to use a small assortment of ingredients to satisfy your customers with fries and burgers. The ingredients for the burger and fries include tomatoes, beef, cheese, lettuce, top bun, bottom bun, and bacon. Cook Burgers is similar to the VR game Cook-out.

Ingredients will only stick when on a plate. Watch out for the rats, which can ruin your food and upset your customers. You can also find the strange potion and play the game as a rat in a twisted alternate version of the game. Just look for the manhole in the alley and climb into it.

Cleaning Simulator Review – Roblox VR Simulation Game

Cleaning Simulator  is one of the best Roblox games for VR players. In the game, you dive into the world Bribble Co. Your job is to clean the building, perform different tasks, upgrade and master your equipment.

Your main goal is to clean the building and finish the job the best you can. You have to rearrange pieces of furniture to their original places as you move.

A pressure washer, sledgehammer, sponge, and mop will help you reach your goal. Every equipment counts, so choose wisely and correctly to finish the job best.

MeepCity Review – Most Popular Roblox Game Ever

Released in 2016 by Alexnewtron, MeepCity was the first Roblox game to ever get more than 1 billion visits. In this experience, you can play with millions of other MeepCity visitors and chat, enjoy different games, earn coins, or customize your estate.

Similar to The Sims, Bloxburg allows you to simulate the life of your virtual character. Each of the jobs you can have requires work and effort in order to complete.

Who doesn’t want to be a superhero sometimes? Try a cape on in Super Hero Tycoon where you can become one of the superheroes and build up your base to unspeakable size. Developer Hiddo, who created this game in 2016, has a popular YouTube channel with almost 200K subscribers. 

The tycoons currently available in the game are Ant-Man, Batman, Black Panther, Green Lantern, Iron Man, Spiderman, Superman, The Flash, The Hulk, and Thor. 

Crates containing a random amount of money and weapons fall from the sky at random intervals.

Impostor Review – Roblox Among Us Alternative

Impostor is a clone of Among Us for virtual reality. There are many Among Us clones in Roblox, but Impostor has risen to the top as the number one option.

If you aren’t familiar with Among Us, you can play as a crewmate or an imposter. The premise of the game is as follows:

• If you an innocent crewmate, you must complete tasks. At the same time, use your detective skills to find out who’s up to no good.
• If you are an imposter, you have to use lies and deception to murder crewmate.
• If the imposter’s finish their tasks, they win. If all of the crewmates are killed, then they win.

REPORT: Creation gaming unlocks learning for Gen Alpha

A new us survey finds that a majority of kids are eager to see platforms like roblox and minecraft integrated into classrooms to enhance their education..

Roblox and Minecraft are playing a big role in helping kids flex their creative muscles and build life skills, according to a new research report called The Creation Generation from UK-based advertising/strategy studio Bodacious.

Featuring findings from an online survey of 2,054 kids ages five to 13 across the US (plus 39 in-depth interviews), this study was funded by Arkansas-based Walton Family Foundation, with Dubit on board as a research partner.

Unlike the players-only passive participation exhibited by past generations, Gen Alpha is having a significantly different experience, due to growing up with “creation gaming” platforms like Roblox and Minecraft (pictured), which give kids more agency and access to make things.

For one thing, there’s a higher rate of enjoyment among creator-players compared to players only, and the variance was particularly wide for RPG games (30% for players only, 51% for creator-players) and chat spaces (8% for players only, 25% of creator-players).

Creator-players on both Roblox and Minecraft identified creativity (70%), design (63%) and problem-solving (52%) as the top three skills they were developing on the platforms. The study also highlights that kids are increasingly seeing the monetary value in their creations: “Almost a quarter of Roblox Studio users ages 13 and under are [selling their creations] on the Roblox Marketplace.” 

And in another key takeaway, 41.5% of kids are interested in seeing Minecraft and Roblox used in schools to support their learning and engagement. In support of this potential, roughly one-third of tweens (ages eight to 13) reported learning at least one school subject on Roblox (33%) and Minecraft (35%). 

The study notes that these platforms could also improve social intelligence and teamwork skills since kids are much more likely to play them with friends and siblings. Less than a quarter of kids say they play Roblox (21%) and Minecraft (24%) on their own. And a whopping 95.5% of young creators say they share their creations with other people, typically friends and family.

Roblox update bug April 2024

Just updated Roblox from Microsoft store today on two pc’s. In both instances I am unable to open private server links on games when I click. This doesn’t happen on website versions of the game, which were also updated. And only happened upon update today on Microsoft store version. I find these bugs happen constantly with Microsoft store versions and have made playing roblox impossible for long periods of time historically. (I’m talking days and weeks). Is this the only way to report this or are there alternate ways.

Edit to add I don’t know which is the correct option to chose from below however this question pertains to Microsoft store

Totally wrong moderation for Age Guidelines!

Hey everyone !

Today I got a message from roblox saying that my guiline age experience on Eat Me! (2 Player Teamwork Obby) - Roblox was wrong because there is blood in the experience. Here the message:

But the problem is that there’s absolutely no blood in my game! What should I do?

I mean, sure, I filled out the age guideline again saying there’s no blood, but what am I supposed to do if the moderation gets it wrong again and again!!!

And I don’t know if there really was a moderator who played along or if it happened automatically, but what’s annoying is that in their report, they say there’s “realistic heavy blood” when there isn’t any at all!!!

If you encounter this problem or if you have a solution to avoid it in the future, please let me know.
