జీవితం ఒక్కటే.. ప్రతి రోజునీ అనుభ‌విస్తూ ముందుకు వెళ్లాలి. మంచి, చెడు, క‌ష్టం, న‌ష్టం.. ఇలా ఏదొచ్చినా స్వీక‌రించాలి. గ‌తం నుంచి పాఠాలు నేర్చుకొని అడుగు వేయ‌డ‌మే త‌ప్ప.. గ‌తంలోకి వెళ్లలేం, చేసిన త‌ప్పుని స‌రిదిద్దుకోలేం. భ‌విష్యత్తునూ ముందుగానే చూడ‌లేం. కానీ, జీవితంలో అలాంటి అవ‌కాశం కూడా ఉంటే? ఆ ఆలోచ‌న నుంచే టైమ్ మెషిన్‌ క‌థ‌లు పుట్టుకొస్తుంటాయి. భార‌తీయ తెర‌పై ఆవిష్కృత‌మైన మరో టైమ్ ట్రావెల్‌ క‌థే.. ‘ఒకే ఒక జీవితం’. శ‌ర్వానంద్‌, అమ‌ల న‌టించిన ఈ సినిమా విడుద‌ల‌కు ముందే ప్రచార చిత్రాల‌తో ప్రేక్షకుల్లో ఆస‌క్తి రేకెత్తించింది. మ‌రి చిత్రం ఎలా ఉందో చూద్దాం..

క‌థేంటంటే: ఆది (శ‌ర్వానంద్‌), శ్రీను (వెన్నెల‌ కిషోర్‌), చైతూ (ప్రియ‌ద‌ర్శి) మంచి స్నేహితులు. చిన్నప్పట్నుంచీ క‌లిసి పెరిగిన వీళ్లు ఒకొక్కరూ ఒక్కో స‌మ‌స్యతో స‌త‌మ‌త‌మ‌వుతూ ఉంటారు. ఎవ‌రిలోనూ సంతృప్తి ఉండదు. ఈ ముగ్గురికీ పాల్ (నాజ‌ర్‌) అనే ఓ శాస్త్రవేత్త ప‌రిచ‌యం అవుతాడు. అతడు ఇర‌వ‌య్యేళ్లుగా టైమ్ మెషిన్‌ క‌నిపెట్టడం కోసం కష్టప‌డుతుంటాడు. చివ‌రికి తాను క‌నిపెట్టిన టైమ్ మెషిన్‌తో గ‌తంలోకి వెళ్లి త‌మ త‌ప్పుల్ని స‌రిదిద్దుకునే అవ‌కాశాన్ని ఆది, శ్రీను, చైతూల‌కి ఇస్తాడు. మ‌రి వాళ్లు గ‌తంలోకి వెళ్లి ఏం చేశారు? త‌ప్పుల్ని స‌రిదిద్దుకున్నారా ? భ‌విష్యత్తుని గొప్పగా మార్చుకున్నారా? విధి వారికి ఏం చెప్పింద‌నేది మిగ‌తా క‌థ‌.

ఎలా ఉందంటే: టైమ్ మెషిన్‌ క‌థ‌లు భార‌తీయ తెర‌కి కొత్త కాదు. వ‌ర్తమానంలో జ‌రుగుతున్న క‌థ‌ని గ‌తానికీ, భ‌విష్యత్తుకీ తీసుకెళుతూ ప్రేక్షకుల‌కు స‌రికొత్త అనుభూతిని పంచుతుంటాయి. ‘ఆదిత్య 369’  మొద‌లుకొని ‘24’, ‘బింబిసార’.. ఇలా క్రమం త‌ప్పకుండా వ‌స్తూనే ఉన్నాయి. ఫాంట‌సీతో కూడిన ఈ క‌థ‌ల్లో ఓ ప్రత్యేక‌మైన మ్యాజిక్‌ ఉంటుంది. మిగ‌తా అన్ని జోన‌ర్లలాగా త‌ర‌చూ తెర‌పైకొచ్చే సినిమాలు మాత్రం కావివి. ప‌క్కా స్క్రిప్ట్‌, లాజిక్‌ల‌తో రూపొందించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. అరుదైన క‌థ‌లు కాబ‌ట్టి ఆ నేప‌థ్యంలో ఎప్పుడు సినిమాలు వ‌చ్చినా అవి ప్రేక్షకుల్ని ప్రత్యేకంగా ఆక‌ర్షిస్తుంటాయి. చ‌ర్చని లేవనెత్తుతుంటాయి. కాల ప్రయాణంతో కూడిన క‌థే అయినా ‘ఒకే ఒక జీవితం’ గ‌తంలో వ‌చ్చిన సినిమాల‌కి పూర్తి భిన్నంగా ఉంటుంది. అమ్మ ప్రేమ‌తో ముడిపెట్టి ఈ క‌థ‌ని అల్లాడు ద‌ర్శకుడు. భావోద్వేగాల‌తో కూడిన ఈ నేప‌థ్యంలో క‌థ రాసుకోవడంలోనే ద‌ర్శకుడు స‌గం విజ‌యం సాధించాడు.  ఆది, శ్రీను, చైతూల పాత్రల‌ని ప‌రిచ‌యం చేస్తూ క‌థ‌లోకి తీసుకెళ్లిన ద‌ర్శకుడు.. మంచి ఫ‌న్ కూడా ఉండేలా స‌న్నివేశాల్ని రాసుకున్నాడు. ముఖ్యంగా వెన్నెల కిషోర్ పాత్ర‌, ప్రియ‌ద‌ర్శి ల‌వ్ ట్రాక్ ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటుంది. విరామ స‌మ‌యంలో వ‌చ్చే స‌న్నివేశాలు ఎవరూ ఊహించ‌ని విధంగా అనిపిస్తాయి. ద్వితీయార్ధంలో పూర్తిగా భావోద్వేగాలే ప్రధానంగా సాగుతుంది. అమ్మ ప్రేమ‌ని పొంద‌డం కోసం ప‌రిత‌పించే ఆది చుట్టూ సాగే ఆ స‌న్నివేశాలు హృద‌యాల్ని బ‌రువెక్కిస్తాయి. గ‌తంలోకి వెళ్లి త‌న అమ్మానాన్నలు, ఇల్లుని చూసుకోవ‌డం, అమ్మ చేతి వంట రుచి చూడటం వంటి స‌న్నివేశాలు మ‌న‌సుల్ని హ‌త్తుకుంటాయి. క‌థ‌లో విధి అంశాన్ని స్పృశించిన తీరు కూడా బాగుంది. అమ‌ల - శ‌ర్వానంద్ త‌మ న‌ట‌న‌తో క‌ట్టిప‌డేశారు. ప్రథమార్ధమంత వేగం ద్వితీయార్ధంలో లేక‌పోయినా, ఆ ప్రభావం పెద్దగా క‌నిపించ‌దు. టైమ్ మెషిన్ నేప‌థ్యంలో వ‌చ్చిన క‌థ‌ల్లో గుర్తుండిపోయే మ‌రో మంచి సినిమా ఇది.

ఎవ‌రెలా చేశారంటే: శ‌ర్వానంద్‌, వెన్నెల‌కిషోర్‌, ప్రియ‌ద‌ర్శి తమ పాత్రల్లో ఒదిగిపోయారు. వీళ్ల బాల్యాన్ని గుర్తు చేసే పాత్రల్లో నటించిన చిన్నారులు కూడా ఆకట్టుకున్నారు. శ‌ర్వానంద్ సెంటిమెంట్ ప్రధానంగా సాగే స‌న్నివేశాల్లో తన‌లో ఎంత గొప్ప న‌టుడు ఉన్నాడో మ‌రోసారి చాటి చెప్పాడు. అమ‌ల త‌న అనుభ‌వాన్నంతా రంగ‌రించి న‌టించారు. చాలా రోజుల త‌ర్వాత ఆమె తెర‌పై ఓ బ‌ల‌మైన పాత్రలో క‌నిపించారు. ఆమె కెరీర్‌లో గుర్తుండిపోయే సినిమా ఇది. శ‌ర్వానంద్‌కి కూడా అంతే. రీతూవ‌ర్మ పాత్ర‌, ఆమె అభిన‌యం కూడా ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటుంది. నాజ‌ర్ త‌న‌కి అల‌వాటైన పాత్రలోనే క‌నిపించారు. సాంకేతికత విష‌యానికొస్తే ప్రతీ విభాగం చ‌క్కటి ప‌నితీరుని క‌న‌బ‌రిచింది. ముఖ్యంగా సంగీతంతో సినిమాకి ప్రాణం పోశారు జేక్స్ బిజోయ్‌. సుజీత్ సారంగ్ కెమెరా ప‌నిత‌నం ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటుంది. ద‌ర్శకుడు శ్రీకార్తిక్‌ క‌థ‌ని తెరపైకి తీసుకొచ్చిన విధానంలోనూ ఓ ప్రత్యేక‌త క‌నిపించింది. నిర్మాణం బాగుంది.

టైం మెషీన్ అనగానే తెలుగువారికి గుర్తొచ్చే మొదటి సినిమా "ఆదిత్య 369". ఆ తర్వాత ఆ దిశగా చిత్రాలేవీ పెద్దగా రాకపోవడం ఆశ్చర్యమే. చాలా కాలం తర్వాత టైం ట్రావెల్ కాన్సెప్ట్ తో ఈ మధ్యన "బింబిసార" వచ్చింది. అందులో టైం మెషీన్ ప్లేసులో మాయాదర్పణం పెట్టారు. అలాగే టైం మెషీన్ కాకుండా ఒక ఫోన్ సాయంతో రెండు కాలాల మధ్యన మనుషుల్ని కలిపే కథతో రెండేళ్ళ క్రితం "ప్లే బ్యాక్" అని ఒక సినిమా వచ్చింది. 

ఇప్పుడు తాజాగా "ఒకే ఒక జీవితం" తెలుగు తెరమీద మరొక టైం ట్రావెల్ కథ. సైన్స్ కి, విధికి మధ్యన జరిగే పోరులో చివరికి ఏది గెలుస్తుందో చెప్పే కథ ఇది. 

తల్లి యాక్సిడెంటులో చనిపోయి 20 ఏళ్లైనా ఇంకా బాధ నుంచి బయటకు రాని కొడుకు ఆది. అతనికి ఇద్దరు స్నేహితులు. ఇదిలా ఉంటే కాలంలో ప్రయాణం చేయించే యంత్రాన్ని కనిపెడతాడొక సైంటిస్ట్. ఆ మెషీన్ ద్వారా ఆదిని గతంలోకి పంపి తన తల్లిని మరొక సారి చూసే అవకాశాన్ని కల్పిస్తానంటాడు సైంటిస్ట్. అలాగే ఆమెను యాక్సిడెంటు నుంచి కాపాడుకోవచ్చని చెప్తాడు. అయితే బదులుగా ఆ కాలానికి వెళ్లినప్పుడు తనకొక సాయం కూడా చేసిపెట్టమంటాడు. 

ఆది తల్లిని యాక్సిడెంట్ బారిన పడకుండా కాపాడుకుంటాడా? ఇంతకీ సైంటిస్ట్ చేసిపెట్టమన్న సాయం ఏమిటి? వీటి చుట్టూ తిరిగే కథని దర్శకుడు తనకు చేతనైనట్టు తెరకెక్కించాడు. 

ఇలాంటి పాయింట్ పట్టుకోవడం కష్టం కాదు. ఎందుకంటే ఓటీటీల్లో బోలెడన్ని దొరికేస్తున్నాయి. ఈ ఐడియా ఒరిజినల్ కాదు. జెర్మన్ వెబ్ సిరీస్ "డార్క్" లో టైం మెషీన్ ఎలా ఉంటుందో ఇదీ ఇంచుమించు అదే తరహాలో ఉంటుంది...ఒక బ్రీఫ్ కేస్ టైపులో. దానిని ఓపెన్ చేసి కింద పెట్టి దాని పక్కన నిలబడితే కోరుకున్న కాలానికి వెళ్ళడమనేది "డార్క్" సిరీస్ మూడో సీజన్లో ఉన్నదే. అలాగే వేరే టైం లైన్ నుంచి మరొక టైం కి వెళ్లిన కొడుకు అప్పటి తల్లిని కలవడనేది కూడా అదే సీజన్లో ఉంది. 

అలా స్ఫూర్తినిచ్చే ఎలిమెంట్స్ ని తీసుకుని ఒరిజినల్ కథనైతే చక్కగా రాసుకోవడం జరిగింది. అయితే స్క్రీన్ ప్లే నడపడంలోనూ, ఉత్కంఠని నిలబెట్టడంలోనూ, కామెడీని పండించడంలోనూ వెనకబడింది. అంటే ఈ అంశాల్లో పాస్ మార్కులు పడతాయి తప్ప ఫస్ట్ క్లాస్ మార్కులు పడవు. మరింత కసరత్తు చేసుంటే ఆ స్థాయికి వెళ్లగలిగే స్కోప్ ఉన్న కథ ఇది. 

చిన్నప్పటి వెన్నెల కిషోర్ నటన బాగుంది. ఆ విషయంలో క్యాస్టింగ్ డిపార్ట్మెంటుని మెచ్చుకోవాలి. మిగిలిన ఇద్దరు బాలనటులూ కూడా తమ తమ పాత్రలకు తగ్గట్టుగా చాలా ఈజ్ తో నటించారు. సినిమా పూర్తయ్యక కూడా వాళ్లే గుర్తొస్తారు. 

వెన్నెల కిషోర్ ట్రాక్ బాగానే రాసారు కానీ, ప్రియదర్శిది ఇంకా బలంగా ఉంటే బాగుండేది. అయితే ఉన్నంతలో వాళ్ల పద్ధతిలో వాళ్లు చేసారు. 

శర్వానంద్ ట్యాలెంట్ గురించి చెప్పక్కర్లేదు. వైవిధ్యాన్ని అద్భుతంగా పండించగలడు. చాలా ఏళ్ల క్రితం మదర్ సెంటిమెంటుతో "అమ్మ చెప్పింది" లో అద్భుతంగా నటించాడు. మళ్లీ ఇది అతని కెరీర్లో మరొక మదర్ సెంటిమెంట్ కథ.

అయితే సినిమా మొదలైన గంట వరకు శర్వా నుంచి అసలు ఎక్స్ప్రెషన్సే పలకవు. డైరెక్టర్ ఇచ్చిన క్యారెక్టరైజేషన్ వల్ల శర్వా తన ట్యాలెంట్ ని ప్రదర్శించే వీలు లేకుండా పోయింది ఆ గంట సేపూ! బలమైన నటుడిని పెట్టుకుని అతనికి ఇంట్రోవెర్ట్ క్యారెక్టరైజేషన్ ఇస్తే ఎలా! అయితే సెకందాఫులో కాస్త పర్వాలేదనిపించాడు.

అమల అక్కినేని చాలా కాలం తర్వాత తెర మీద కనిపించడం ఒక తరం ప్రేక్షకులకి అండర్లైన్ చేసుకునే అంశం. సహజమైన నటనతో చక్కగా నటించారామె. ఆమె ఒప్పుకోవాలే కానీ తల్లి పాత్రలతో సెకండ్ ఇన్నింగ్స్ కొనసాగించేయొచ్చు. 

సైంటిస్ట్ పాత్రలో నాజర్, హీరోయిన్ గా రితు తమ పరిధుల్లో నటించారు. సెకండాఫులో రితు ముగ్గురు పిల్లల్ని మొదటి సారి చూసినప్పుడు ఇచ్చిన ఎక్స్ప్రెషన్ పర్ఫెక్ట్. ఈ కథలోని పాత్రలనుంచి  ఆడియన్స్ ఎక్స్పెక్ట్ చేసేది అదే. 

అక్కడక్కడ చిన్న చిన్న మెరుపులున్నా డయలాగ్స్ మాత్రం యావరేజ్ గా ఉన్నాయి. 

ఇందులో హీరో మ్యూజిక్ టీచరయ్యుండి సరైన పాటలు లేకపోవడం ఒక మైనస్. బ్యాక్ గ్రౌంద్ స్కోర్ బిలో యావరేజ్. ఇలాంటి సినిమాలకి బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ ఆయువుపట్టు. యావరేజ్ కథనాన్ని కూడా ఎమోషనల్ గా చేసి నెక్స్ట్ లెవెల్ కి తీసుకెళ్లగలిగేది అదే. కానీ సంగీత దర్శకుడు అవకాశాన్ని పూర్తిగా వాడుకోలేదు. దర్శకుడు కూడా అవసరమైంది రాబట్టలేదు. 

దర్శకత్వపరంగా ప్రధమార్థంలో చాలా మైనస్సులున్నాయి. 1998 కాలాన్ని ఇంట్రొడ్యూస్ చేస్తూ "ఆకాశవాణి..." అంటూ రేడియో వినిపించడం, లంగా ఒణీలేసుకున్న అమ్మాయిల్ని, లాగుడు రిక్షాని చూపించడం దర్శకుడి టైం సెన్స్ ని ప్రశ్నిస్తాయి. అదంతా 1978 నాటి యాంబియన్స్ తప్ప 1998 కాదు! 

ఎడిటింగ్ ఓకే. అయితే కొన్ని చోట్ల యూట్యూబులో దొరికే 1990 ల నాటి హైద్రాబాదు షాట్స్ ని వాడారు. అవి పిక్సెల్ ఔట్ అయిపోయి బిగ్ స్క్రీన్ మీద ఇబ్బందిగా కనపడి నాన్ సింక్ కొట్టాయి. 

ఎన్ని మైనస్సులున్నా, ప్రధమార్థం ఎంత నీరసం తెప్పించినా ఇంటర్వల్ ట్విస్ట్ బాగుండడం, చివరాఖరి 40 నిమిషాలు ఉత్కంఠగా సాగడంతో సినిమా నిలబడింది. 

సాధ్యం కాదని తెలిసినా చనిపోయిన కుటుంబ సభ్యుల్ని ఒక్కసారి కలిసే చాన్సుంటే బాగుంటుందని ఇంచుమించు అందరి మనసులకి అనిపిస్తుంది. ఫలానా రోజు ఆ ప్రయాణం చేయకపోతే బతికే వీలుండేది కదా, ఆ రోజు నేను పక్కనుంటే ప్రమాదం జరిగేది కాదు కదా అని కుమిలిపోవడం కూడా సహజమే. అటువంటి ఎమోషన్ మీద ప్లే చేసిన డ్రామాయే ఈ "ఒకే ఒక జీవితం". 

విధినుంచి తల్లిని కాపాడుకోవాలనే కొడుకు తపన కూడా 1990ల నాటి "యమలీల"లో చూసిందే. అయితే ఇందులో హ్యాండిల్ చేసిన తీరు చాలా మెచ్యూర్డ్ గా ఉంది. 

కథని సైన్స్ ఫిక్షన్ గా ఎలా నడిపినా చివరికి ఒక మెచ్యూర్డ్, ప్రాక్టికల్ క్లైమాక్స్ ఇవ్వడం బాగుంది. సెంటిమెంట్ పండింది. భారీ అంచనాలు పెట్టేసుకోకుండా చూస్తే కొత్తగా అనిపించి నచ్చుతుంది. ఇదొక వెరైటీ కథ!

కాలంలో వెనక్కి వెళితే...

ఆది (శర్వానంద్),శ్రీను(వెన్నెల కిషోర్), చైతూ(ప్రియదర్శి) చిన్న‌నాటి స్నేహితులు. ఆదికి సంగీతం అంటే ఇష్టం. తల్లి( అమల) కోరిక మేర‌కు సింగ‌ర్‌గా పేరుతెచ్చుకోవాల‌ని కోరుకుంటాడు. కారు ప్ర‌మాదంలో త‌ల్లిచ‌నిపోవ‌డంతో కృంగిపోతాడు. అనుక్ష‌ణం ఆమెను త‌ల్చుకుంటూ బాధ‌ప‌డుతుంటాడు. శ్రీను రియ‌ల్ ఎస్టేట్ బ్రోక‌ర్‌గా ప‌నిచేస్తుంటాడు. మామ కూతురును పెళ్లి చేసుకోవాల‌ని అనుకుంటాడు. శీనుకు చ‌దువులేక‌పోవ‌డంతో అత‌డి క‌ల తీర‌దు. చైతూ అంద‌మైన అమ్మాయిని పెళ్లిచేసుకోవాల‌ని ఎదురుచూస్తుంటాడు. ఎన్ని సంబంధాలు వ‌చ్చినా ఏదో ఒక వంక పెడుతుంటాడు. చిన్న‌త‌నంలో త‌న స్కూల్‌మేట్‌ను ప్రేమిస్తాడు. కానీ ఆ ప్రేమ స‌ఫ‌లం కాదు.

రంగి కుట్టి పాల్ (నాజర్) అనే సైంటిస్ట్ క‌నిపెట్టిన టైమ్ మిష‌న్ ద్వారా అమ్మ‌ను తిరిగి బ్ర‌తికించుకునే అవ‌కాశం ఉంద‌ని తెలుసుకున్న ఆది ఆ టైమ్ మిష‌న్‌లో ఇర‌వై ఏళ్లు వెన‌క్కి వెళ్లాల‌ని అనుకుంటాడు. అత‌డితో పాటు శీను, చైతూ కూడా కాలంలో వెన‌క్కి వెళ్లి త‌మ జీవితాల్ని మార్చుకోవాల‌ని భావిస్తారు. 2019 నుంచి 1998 టైమ్‌లోకి వెళ్లిన వారికి ఎలాంటి అనుభ‌వాలు ఎదుర‌య్యాయి. ఆది త‌న అమ్మ‌ను కాపాడుకోగ‌లిగాడా? టైమ్ మిష‌న్ మిస్ కావ‌డంతో 1998లోని చిక్కుకుపోయిన వారు తిరిగి నేటి కాలానికి ఎలా వ‌చ్చారు? విధిని మార్చాల‌నే వారి సంక‌ల్పం సాధ్య‌మైందా? వైష్ణ‌వి (రీతూవర్మ) ప్రేమ‌ను ఆది అర్థం చేసుకున్నాడా? శీను, చైతూ త‌మ జీవితాల్ని మార్చుకోగ‌లిగారా? లేదా? అన్న‌దే ఒకే ఒక జీవితం సినిమా క‌థాంశం.

మ్యాజిక్ వర్కవుట్ అయ్యింది...

టైమ్ ట్రావెల్ సినిమాల్లో లాజిక్స్ కంటే మ్యాజిక్ ఎక్కువ‌గా ఉంటుంది. ఆ మ్యాజిక్ వ‌ర్క‌వుట్ చేస్తూ క‌థ‌, కథనాలతో ప్రేక్ష‌కుడిని క‌న్వీన్స్ చేసిన‌ప్పుడే ఈ టైమ్ ట్రావెల్ సినిమాలు విజ‌యాల్ని సాధించాయి. ఆ ప్ర‌య‌త్నంలో ఒకే ఒక జీవితం చాలా వ‌ర‌కు స‌క్సెస్ అయ్యింది.

మదర్ సెంటిమెంట్...

టైమ్ ట్రావెల్ పాయింట్‌కు మ‌ద‌ర్ సెంటిమెంట్‌ను జోడించి ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు శ్రీకార్తిక్ ఈ క‌థ‌ను రాసుకున్నారు. సైన్స్ ద్వారా విధి రాత‌ను మార్చాల‌ని ప్ర‌య‌త్నించే ఓ ముగ్గురు యువ‌కుల జీవితాల్ని ఎమోష‌న్స్‌, కామెడీ కలబోసి సినిమాలో ఆవిష్క‌రించారు. సైన్స్ గొప్పదే కానీ గ‌తాన్ని మార్చ‌గ‌లిగే శ‌క్తి దానికి లేదనే సందేశాన్ని సినిమాలో చూపించారు. శ‌ర్వానంద్, అమ‌ల క్యారెక్ట‌ర్స్ ద్వారా ఎమోష‌న్స్ పండిస్తూనే మ‌రోవైపు వెన్నెల‌కిషోర్‌, ప్రియ‌ద‌ర్శి పాత్ర‌ల నుండి వినోదాన్ని రాబ‌ట్టుకున్నారు.

ముగ్గురు స్నేహితుల కథ…

ముగ్గురు స్నేహితుల క‌ల‌లు, రియాలిటీలో వారి జీవితాల‌తో సినిమా వినోదాత్మ‌క పంథాలో మొదలవుతుంది. ఆరంభంలో బ్రోక‌ర్ దందా పేరుతో వెన్నెల కిషోర్ చేసే హాడావిడి, ప్రియదర్శి పెళ్లి చూపుల ప్రహాసనం నవ్విస్తాయి. టైమ్ మిష‌న్ లో ఇర‌వై ఏళ్లు వెన‌క్కి వెళ్లిన వారికి అక్క‌డ ఎదుర‌య్యే అనుభ‌వాల నుంచి కావాల్సినంత కామెడీ జనరేట్ అయ్యేలా సీన్స్ రాసుకున్నారు ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు. చిన్న‌త‌నంలో తాము చ‌దువుతున్న స్కూల్‌కు వెళ్ల‌డం, త‌మ బాల్యం క‌ళ్ల ముందు క‌ద‌లాడుతుండ‌టం లాంటి సీన్స్ బాగున్నాయి.

టైమ్ మిష‌న్ మిస్ అయిపోవడం అనే ట్విస్ట్ ఇస్తూ సెకండాఫ్‌పై ఇంట్రెస్ట్ క్రియేట్ చేశారు ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు. ఆ టైమ్ పీరియ‌డ్ నుండి నేటి కాలానికి రావ‌డానికి ఆది, శీను, చైతూ ప‌డే క‌ష్టాల‌ను కామెడీ వేలో చూపించారు. మ‌రోవైపు అమ్మ‌ను బ‌తికించుకోవ‌డానికి ఆది ప‌డే త‌ప‌న‌, ఎమోష‌న‌ల్‌గా ఆవిష్క‌రిస్తూ సెంటిమెంట్‌ను రాబ‌ట్టుకున్నారు. లైఫ్‌లో సెకండ్ ఛాన్స్ కోసం ఎదురుచూసిన వారిలో ఎలా మార్పు వ‌చ్చింద‌న్న‌ది క్లైమాక్స్‌లో చూపించారు.

ఫోకస్ పెడితే బాగుండేది…

ముందుగానే చెప్పిన‌ట్లుగా సినిమాలో ఎక్క‌డ లాజిక్స్ క‌నిపించ‌వు. చాలా చోట్ల క‌థ‌ను సాగ‌దీసిన ఫీలింగ్ క‌లుగుతుంది. ప్రేమ‌క‌థపై ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు పెద్ద‌గా ఫోక‌స్ పెట్ట‌లేదు.

శర్వానంద్, అమల క్యారెక్టర్స్ బలం…

ఒకే ఒక జీవితం సినిమాలో అమ్మ ప్రేమ కోసం త‌పించే ఆది అనే యువ‌కుడిగా భావోద్వేగ‌భ‌రితంగా సాగే పాత్ర‌లో శ‌ర్వానంద్ న‌ట‌న ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటుంది. ఎమోష‌న‌ల్ స‌న్నివేశాల్లో చ‌క్క‌టి అభినయాన్ని క‌న‌బ‌రిచాడు. అమలతో అతడి కాంబినేషన్ లో వచ్చే ప్రతి సీన్ మనసుల్ని కదిలిస్తుంది. ప్రియ‌ద‌ర్శి, వెన్నెల‌కిషోర్ కామెడీ ఈ సినిమాకు పెద్ద ప్ల‌స్‌గా నిలిచింది. చాలా చోట్ల వెన్నెల‌కిషోర్ పంచ్ డైలాగ్స్ న‌వ్విస్తాయి. 20 ఏళ్లు వెన‌క్కి వెళ్లి త‌మ జీవితాల్ని స‌రిదిద్దుకోవ‌డానికి వారు ప‌డే తిప్పలు హిలేరియస్ గా ఉంటాయి. శ‌ర్వానంద్ త‌ల్లి పాత్ర‌లో అమ‌ల అక్కినేని న‌ట‌న ఈ సినిమాకు పెద్ద ప్ల‌స్‌గా నిలిచింది. త‌న‌యుడే స‌ర్వ‌స్వంగా బ‌తికే త‌ల్లిగా త‌న యాక్టింగ్ తో ఈ పాత్ర‌కు ప్రాణంపోసింది. రీతూవ‌ర్మ క్యారెక్ట‌ర్ పెద్ద‌గా ప్రాధాన్యం లేదు. సైంటిస్ట్ పాత్ర‌లో నాజ‌ర్ క‌నిపించాడు.

క్లిష్టతరమైన పాయింట్...

దర్శకుడిగా శ్రీకార్తిక్ మెప్పించాడు. క్లిష్ట‌మైన పాయింట్‌ను ఎలాంటి త‌డ‌బాటు లేకుండా స‌ర‌దాగా తెర‌పై ఆవిష్‌క‌రించారు. సుజీత్ సారంగ్ సినిమాటోగ్ర‌ఫీ, జేక్స్ బిజోయ్ మ్యూజిక్ చ‌క్క‌గా కుదిరాయి.

ఫ్రెష్ ఫీల్ ఇస్తుంది...

మాస్‌, క‌మ‌ర్షియ‌ల్ హంగుల‌తో కూడిన రెగ్యుల‌ర్ ఫార్ములా సినిమాల‌తో పోలిస్తే ఒకే ఒక జీవితం కొత్త అనుభూతిని మిగుల్చుతుంది. టైమ్ ట్రావెల్ సైంటిఫిక్ సినిమాల్ని ఇష్ట‌ప‌డే ప్ర‌తిఒక్క‌రిని ఈ సినిమా మెప్పిస్తుంది.

What’s it about?

Adhi (Sharwanand), Seenu (Vennela Kishore), and Chaitanya (Priyadarshi) are close friends. Adhi is a guitarist. Chaitanya works in a company, while Seenu is a real estate broker. 

Seenu gets introduced to a scientist Paul (Nasser) as part of his real estate brokering. The scientist has invented the time machine and is looking for people to participate in his experimentation. 

These three friends agree to go back in time, precisely to 1998. Aadi wants to prevent the death of his mother. Can they manage to change the course of events and their lives by traveling back in time?

Debutant director Shree Karthick’s directorial ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ brings freshness to the time-travel concept. A mother-son sentiment in a time-travel genre is itself something to appreciate. Plus, this film also serves an interesting twist. 

As mentioned above, the storyline is simple: three friends traveling back in time to change the course of their lives. Hollywood films like “Back to the Future” and Telugu films like “Aditya 369” and “24” have used the concept of time travel for thrills, but this film focuses less on the sci-fi angle and more on the mother-son sentiment.

The film leaves us smiling in certain portions and makes us feel emotional at other times. The emotional angle between Amala and Sharwanand is the main highlight. But the thread of Vennela Kishore is the best as it provides a lot of laughs.

The new director ends the film with a practical message: no one can change fate. The past is past, and you cannot alter it.

The ride is entirely smooth. Some portions give the feel of patchy execution. But these are minor issues in a film that has a feel-good factor. 

Sharwanand’s strength has always been bringing out emotions well. He does it again. He shines in the final portion when he needs to control his emotions and tears. The casting of Amala Akkineni is another plus point. She has brought warmth to the role. After a long time, Vennela Kishore gets a meaty role and hits the ball out of the park. Priyadarshi also shines. 

The film has one appreciable song but the music is not the main strength. The cinematography is neat. Tharun Bhascker’s dialogues are simple and neat.

Bottomline:  ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ has a relatively fresh storyline. It is not a regular commercial film but holds our interest. The film makes a decent watch with strong performances and feel-good emotions.

కథేంటంటే.. ఆది(శర్వానంద్‌), శ్రీను(వెన్నెల కిశోర్‌), చైతూ(ప్రియదర్శి) ముగ్గురు స్నేహితులు. ఈ ముగ్గురికి ఒక్కో సమస్య ఉంటుంది. ఆది మంచి గిటారిస్ట్‌ కానీ స్టేజ్‌పై పాడాలంటే భయం. ప్రియురాలు వైష్ణవి(రీతూ వర్మ) ఎంత ఎంకరేజ్‌ చేసినా.. ఆది సక్సెస్‌ కాలేకపోతాడు. కళ్ల ముందు అమ్మ (అమల) ఉంటే బాగుండేది అనుకుంటారు. ఇరవేళ్ల క్రితం(మార్చి 28,1998) రోడ్డు ప్రమాదంలో తల్లి చనిపోతుంది. అప్పటి నుంచి ఆదికి స్టేజ్‌ ఫిగర్‌ ఇంకా ఎక్కువతుంది.

ఇక శ్రీను చిన్నప్పుడు సరిగ్గా చదువుకోలేక హౌస్‌ బ్రోకర్‌గా మారుతాడు. ఇంగ్లీష్‌ అస్సలు రాదు. చిన్నప్పుడు మంచిగా చదువుకొని ఉంటే బాగుండేది కదా అని బాధ పడుతుంటాడు. ఇక మూడో వ్యక్తి చైతూకి పెళ్లి సమస్య. మంచి అమ్మాయిని చూసి పెళ్లి చేసుకోవాలకుంటాడు. కానీ ఏ అమ్మాయి నచ్చదు. చిన్నప్పుడు తనను ఇష్టపడిన సీతను ఎందుకు ప్రేమించలేదని ప్రతి క్షణం బాధపడుతుంటాడు.

ఇలా బాధపడుతున్న ఈ ముగ్గురు స్నేహితుల జీవితంలోకి సైంటిస్ట్‌ రంగీ కుట్టా పాల్ అలియాస్‌ పాల్‌ (నాజర్‌) ప్రవేశిస్తాడు. అతను టైమ్‌ మిషన్‌ కనిపెట్టడానికి 20 ఏళ్లుగా ట్రై చేస్తూనే ఉంటాడు. చివరకు తను టైమ్‌ మిషన్‌ని కనిపెడతాడు. ఆ మిషన్‌తో ఆది,శ్రీను, చైతూలను భూత కాలంలోకి పంపుతానని చెబుతాడు. వారు కూడా తాము చేసిన తప్పులను సవరించుకోవాలని భావించి గత కాలంలోకి వెళ్లేందుకు రెడీ అవుతారు. మరి ఆది వెనక్కి వెళ్లి రోడ్డు ప్రమాదం బారిన పడకుండా తన తల్లిని కాపాడుకున్నాడా? శ్రీను, చైతూలు పాత తప్పుల్ని సరిదిద్దుకున్నారా? లేదా? భూతకాలంలో ఈ ముగ్గురికి ఎదురైన వింత సమస్యలు ఏంటి? అనేదే మిగతా కథ

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే..   టైమ్ ట్రావెల్ కాన్సెప్ట్‌ అనగానే మనకు గుర్తుకొచ్చే సినిమా ఆదిత్య 369. ఆ మధ్య వచ్చిన ‘24’తో పాటు రీసెంట్‌గా విడుదలైన ‘బింబిసార’కూడా టైమ్‌ ట్రావెల్‌ నేపథ్యంతో తెరకెక్కిన చిత్రాలే. అలాంటి కాన్సెప్ట్‌తో రూపొందిన చిత్రమే ‘ఒకే ఒక జీవితం’. అయితే ఆ సినిమాలతో దీనికి ఎలాంటి సంబంధం ఉండదు. ఇది టైమ్‌ ట్రావెల్‌ చిత్రమే అయినప్పటికీ..ఇందులో ‘అమ్మ’ కథ దాగి ఉంది.

20 ఏళ్ల క్రితం తల్లిని కోల్పోయిన ఓ బిడ్డకి.. తిరిగి అమ్మను చూసే అవకాశం వస్తే..? గ‌తంలో చేసిన త‌ప్పుల్ని స‌వ‌రించుకునే చాన్స్‌ లభిస్తే..? ఇది వినడానికే ఆశ్చర్యంగా, ఆసక్తికరంగా ఉంది. అంతే ఆసక్తికరంగా తెరపై చూపించాడు దర్శకుడు శ్రీకార్తీక్. టైమ్ మిష‌న్ క‌థ‌ని అమ్మ ఎమోష‌న్ తో ముడి పెట్టి ‘ఒకే ఒక జీవితం’చిత్రాన్ని తెరకెక్కించాడు. జీవితం ఎవరికీ రెండో అవకాశం ఇవ్వదు. ఒకవేళ ఇస్తే... విధి రాతని మార్చగలమా? అనే పాయింట్‌ని ఆసక్తికరంగా చూపించాడు.

టైమ్‌ మిషన్‌లోకి వెళ్లేంత వరకు కథ నెమ్మదిగా సాగుతుంది..కానీ ఒక్కసారి భవిష్యత్తులోకి వెళ్లాక వచ్చే సన్నివేశాలు ఆకట్టుకుంటాయి. ముగ్గురు యువకులు.. చిన్నప్పుడు తామెలా ఉన్నామో చూసుకునేందుకు వెళ్లడం..తాము చేసిన తప్పిదాలను సరిదిద్దుకునేందుకు ప్రయత్నించడం..ఇలా ప్రతి సీన్‌ ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. ముఖ్యంగా శర్వానంద్, అమల  మధ్య వచ్చే ప్రతి సన్నివేశం ఎమోషనల్గా ఉంటుంది. ఇంటర్వెల్‌ ట్విస్ట్‌ అదిరిపోవడంతో పాటు సెకండాఫ్‌పై క్యూరియాసిటీని పెంచుతుంది.

వెన్నెల కిశోర్‌ పాత్ర సినిమాకు మరో ప్రధాన బలం. ఆ పాత్ర పండించిన కామెడీ థియేటర్స్‌లో నవ్వులు పూయిస్తుంది. ప్రియదర్శి పాత్రను ఇంకాస్త బలంగా తీర్చి దిద్దితే బాగుండేది. భూతకాలంలోకి వెళ్లిన శ్రీను, చైతూలను కూడా తమ ఫ్యామిలీలతో కలిసేలా చూపిస్తే.. కథ ఇంకాస్త ఎమోషనల్‌గా సాగేదేమో. క్లైమాక్స్‌ కూడా ఊహకి అందేలా ఉంటుంది. టైమ్ ట్రావెల్ సీన్స్ ఇంకాస్త ఆసక్తికరంగా రాసుకోవాల్సింది. స్లో నెరేషన్‌  కూడా సినిమాకు కాస్త మైనస్‌. సైన్స్ గొప్పదని చెప్తూనే.. విధిని ఎవరు మార్చలేరనే విషయాన్ని బలంగా చూపించిన దర్శకుడి ప్రయత్నాన్ని మాత్రం అభినందించాల్సిందే. 

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే.. శర్వానంద్‌ని నటుడిగా ఇంకో మెట్టు ఎక్కించిన సినిమా ఇది. ఆది పాత్రలో ఆయన ఒదిగిపోయాడు. ఎమోషనల్‌ సీన్స్‌లో కూడా చక్కగా నటించాడు. రొటీన్‌ కమర్షియల్‌ హీరో పాత్రలకు భిన్నమైన పాత్ర తనది. ఇక ఈ సినిమాకు మరో ప్రధాన బలం వెన్నెల కిశోర్‌ పాత్ర. బ్రోకర్‌ శ్రీనుగా వెన్నెల కిశోర్‌ తనదైన కామెడీతో నవ్వించాడు. అదే సమయంలో కొన్ని చోట్ల అతను చెప్పే డైలాగ్స్‌ ఎమోషనల్‌కు గురిచేస్తాయి.  చైతూ పాత్రకి ప్రియదర్శి న్యాయం చేశాడు. తన పాత్రని ఇంకాస్త బలంగా డిజైన్‌ చేస్తే బాగుండేది. ఇక ఈ సినిమాకు అమల పాత్ర మరో ప్లస్‌ పాయింట్‌. అమ్మ పాత్రకు చాలా బాగా సూట్ అయ్యారు. శర్వానంద్‌, అమల మధ్య వచ్చే సన్నివేశాలు హృదయాలను హత్తుకుంటాయి. ఇక ఆది లవర్‌ వైష్ణవిగా రీతూ వర్మ మెప్పించింది. అయితే సినిమాలో ఆమె పాత్ర నిడివి చాలా తక్కువ. ఉన్నంతలో తన పాత్రకు న్యాయం చేసింది. సైంటిస్ట్‌ పాల్‌గా నాజర్‌ మరోసారి తన అనుభవాన్ని తెరపై చూపించాడు. ఇలాంటి సీరియస్‌ పాత్రలు చేయడం నాజర్‌కి కొత్తేమి కాదు. మిగిలిన నటీనటులు తమ పాత్రల పరిధిమేర నటించారు.

What's Behind

Sharwanand's new movie the long forgotten bilingual entertainer Oke Oka Jeevitham which got delayed due to covid pandemic is releasing on September 9, 2022. The film's teaser, trailer, and songs gave an impression that it is a feel-good entertainer. Ritu Varma and Amala Akkineni played key roles in the film directed by Shree Karthik. Let us find out what Oke Oka Jeevitham offered to movie lovers.

Story Review

The story is all about a youngster's love for his mother and how he is unable to overcome her loss and achieve his goal. Aadi (Sharwanand) is a good singer but due to a lack of confidence and fear fails to make use of the chances his girlfriend Vaishnavi (Ritu Varma) gets. Similarly, his friend Seenu (Vennela Kishore), a real estate broker is not well versed in English due to a lack of education, and Chaitu (Priyadarshi), rejects all the matches finding fault with everyone.

They look back at their lives and repent for the missed opportunities, like Aadi missing his mother (Amala Akkneni), Chaitu neglecting a girl Seetha who liked him during his childhood, and Seenu ignoring his studies.

However, when they come across quantum physicist Paul (Nassar), they get a godsent opportunity. To find out more about the godsent opportunity and the twists and turns associated with it, enjoy Oke Oke Jeevitham on the screen.

Artists, Technicians Review

Oke Oka Jeevitham's story is an emotional drama against the backdrop of time travel. Director Shree Karthik blended both emotional drama and time travel in a beautiful and effective manner. He tried to be creative and for that, he should be complimented for his attempt. Shree Karthik did not try to load the story with commercial elements and proceeded with clarity of thought. The entire first half goes in a smooth manner. Viewers get a feeling of watching something unique and novel story in the time travel backdrop. He got the optimum performances from his cast and crew. The first half ends on an interesting and entertaining note with a good and unexpected twist signaling the powerful interval bang.

This set the tone for the more exciting and thrilling second half. But Shree Karthik, while paying more attention to the time travel and in his quest to embed the emotions in a powerful manner to create a maximum impact loses the plot. He ended up confusing shifting to and fro between the timelines and with illogical scenes creeping in, viewers will be left scratching their heads. While highlighting the emotions and the childhood scenes, the 80s and 90s episodes a too far-fetched and left dragged. This decreased the interest levels but little comedy involving the kids and especially Vennela Kishore helped the film from experiencing a freefall.

Shree Karthik though selected an interesting story loaded with good emotions between a mother and a son but while connecting it with the time travel concept, he missed many logics. First and foremost the same characters exist in the same timeline. Sharwanand, Vennela Kishore, and Priyadarshi co-exist in the same timelines and even converse with each other. Generally, it looks impossible and many films which dealt with the timeline concepts never touched upon such a complex plot. Shree Karthik initially emerged successful mainly due to the humor involved in it. The humor made people ignore these highly technical and complex points. But the lack of humor and increase in emotions in the second half exposed these flaws and drawbacks and impact the film in a drastic manner. Finally, for all the fun, frills, and thrills in the first half, everything was undone in the second half with the overdose of sentiment which slowed the pace of the film.

While Sharwanand is at his usual best without overdoing anything and slipped into the role effortlessly, Vennela Kishore and Priyadarshi performed in a natural and realistic manner wowing all with their witty one-liners. For that one should congratulate the dialogue writer Tharun Bhaskar. Sharwanand and Amala's roles came out quite well. They performed quite well taking the film forward with their expressions and emotions. Vennela Kishore and Priyadarshi are at their hilarious best. Ritu Varma got a short and sweet role and she stole the hearts of all as a girl who is concerned about her lover and also the way she showed variations in expressions when she sees the young kids. Others like Ali, Ravi Raghavendra, Yog Japee, Madhunandan performed according to their roles.

Amala Akkineni showcased her experience coming out with strong expressions in the role of a mother who cares for her son a lot and tries her best to help him overcome his shortcomings. Nassar is good in the role of a scientist while Jay Adithya,Nithyaraj , and Hitesh played the kids' role in a beautiful manner.

Jakes Bejoy came up with melancholic tunes elevating emotions in a perfect manner. It connected chords with the movie lovers. All the songs are situational and in sync with the storyline. Nee Padalaku Muvvalu Naa song is beautifully tuned, exceptionally shot, and beautifully choreographed. The song made an impact on the viewers. The same is the case with other songs like Okate Kadha,Maari Poye, Amma song. Background music took movie lovers into the story within minutes of the narration. The cinematography of Sujith Sarang showcased the various timelines in a realistic way paying attention to even the minute details. Sreejith Sarang's editing is ok but could have been better especially in the second half. However one feels that the confusing story and the script prevented him from doing so. Dialogues of Tharun Bhaskar are effective and the spontaneity is highlighted which made an instant impression.

Altogether, Oke Oka Jeevitham is all about a youngster overcoming his fears and realize his dreams. The film directed by Shree Karthik with the trailer and teaser impressed viewers with the feel-good elements. Despite the delayed release, Sharwanand's Oke Oka Jeevitham made the right noise. Shree Karthik emerged successful in offering what people wanted in an interesting and exciting manner in the first half balancing the time travel concept and human emotions in a hilarious manner. But in the second half, he ended up not only confusing himself but also confusing everyone going into the complex nature of the time travel. Had Shree Karthik avoided it, Oke Oka Jeevitham would have been an emotional and hilarious time travel entertainer ticking all the boxes right. But as Shree Karthick ended up with confusing screenplay and direction and losing the plot completely, Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 rating for Oke Oka Jeevitham.

ఆది (శర్వానంద్), శ్రీను (వెన్నెల కిషోర్), మరియు చైతు (ప్రియదర్శి) ముగ్గురు చిన్నప్పటి నుంచి బెస్ట్ ఫ్రెండ్స్. అయితే, ఈ ముగ్గురు తమ జీవితాల్లో ఎవరి సమస్యతో వారు పడుతూ ఉంటారు. తమ ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితి పై అసంతృప్తి గా ఉంటారు. ఇలాంటి సమయంలోనే వీరి జీవితాల్లోకి సైంటిస్ట్ (నాజర్) వస్తాడు. అతను కనిపెట్టిన టైమ్ మిషన్ తో ఈ ముగ్గురు తమ గతంలోకి వెళ్లి, తమ ప్రస్తుతం సమస్యలను అలాగే భవిష్యత్తును గొప్పగా మార్చుకోవాలని అనుకుంటారు. అయితే ఆది మాత్రం చనిపోయిన తన తల్లి (అమల) ప్రాణాలు కాపాడాలని బలంగా కోరుకుంటాడు. ఈ క్రమంలో వచ్చే కొన్ని నాటకీయ పరిణామాల మధ్య వీరు గతంలోకి ఎలా వెళ్లారు ?, వెళ్ళాక వీరి జర్నీ ఎలా సాగింది ?, చివరకు వీరి జీవితాలు ఎలా టర్న్ అయ్యాయి ?, అసలు ఇంతకీ వీళ్ళు అనుకున్నది సాధించారా ? లేదా ? అనేది మిగిలిన కథ.

ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్ :

చాలా ఎమోషనల్‌ సాగిన ఈ ఫిల్మ్ లో చాలా బ్యూటీఫుల్ ఎమోషన్స్ ఉన్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా అమ్మ ప్రేమకు సంబంధించి వచ్చే సన్నివేశాల్లో హృదయం బరువెక్కుతుంది. పైగా సినిమాలో సెంటిమెంట్‌, ఎమోషనలే కాదు, నావెల్టీ కూడా చాలా బాగుంది. అన్నిటికీ కంటే ముఖ్యంగా తెలుగు తెరకు ఈ పాయింట్‌ చాలా కొత్తగా ఉంది.

శర్వానంద్ ఈ సినిమాలో తన పాత్ర పరిస్థితులకు తగ్గట్టు చక్కగా నటించి మెప్పించాడు. ముఖ్యంగా తన బాడీ లాంగ్వేజ్ తో అలాగే, కొన్ని ఎమోషనల్ అండ్ ఫీల్ గుడ్ సీక్వెన్స్ స్ లో శర్వానంద్ చాలా బాగా నటించాడు. తల్లి పాత్రలో నటించిన అమల తన నటనతోనూ మరియు తన స్మైల్ తోనూ ఆకట్టుకుంది. హీరోయిన్ గా నటించిన రీతూ వర్మకి పెద్దగా స్కోప్ లేదు. అయితే ఉన్నంతలో ఆమె తన పాత్రకు పూర్తి న్యాయం చేసింది.

ఇక ఈ సినిమాలో మెయిన్ హైలైట్ మాత్రం కామెడీ. ప్రియదర్శి, వెన్నెల కిషోర్‌ తమ కామెడీ టైమింగ్ తో ఈ సినిమా స్థాయిని పెంచారు. మెయిన్ గా శర్వానంద్, ప్రియదర్శి, వెన్నెల కిషోర్‌ ల మధ్య వచ్చే కామెడీ సీన్స్ చాలా బాగా మెప్పిస్తాయి. నాజర్ నటన కూడా సహజంగా ఉంది. అలాగే మిగిలిన నటీనటులు కూడా తమ పాత్రల పరిధి మేరకు బాగా నటించారు.

దర్శకుడు శ్రీ కార్తీక్ తీసుకున్న స్టోరీ లైన్, రాసుకున్న కొన్ని ఎమోషనల్ సీక్వెన్స్ స్ బాగున్నాయి. శర్వానంద్ క్యారెక్టర్ పాయింట్ ఆఫ్ వ్యూలో వచ్చే సీన్స్ కూడా చాలా బాగున్నాయి. ఇక చివర్లో ఎమోషనల్ ఎలిమెంట్స్ తో సినిమాను ముగించడం కూడా ఆకట్టుకుంది.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

శర్వానంద్ పాత్రను, ఆ పాత్ర తాలూకు ప్లాష్ బ్యాక్ ను బాగా డైజైన్ చేసుకున్న దర్శకుడు అంతే స్థాయిలో సెకండ్ హాఫ్ ను రాసుకోలేదు. కొన్ని సీన్స్ కూడా లాజికల్ కరెక్ట్ గా అనిపించదు. అయితే, రాసుకున్న కథను తెర పై చాలా క్లారిటీగా చాలా ఎమోషనల్ గా చూపించాడు శ్రీ కార్తీక్. కానీ, ఎందుకో ప్లేను మాత్రం చాలా స్లోగా నడిపాడు.

నిజానికి సినిమాలో చాలా భాగం ఎమోషనల్ గా అండ్ ఫీల్ గుడ్ ఎలిమెంట్స్ తో ఇంట్రెస్ట్ గా నడిపినా.. కొన్ని సీన్స్ మాత్రం బోర్ గా సాగాయి. అలాగే సినిమా కళాత్మకంగా ఉండటం కారణంగా పక్కా మాస్ ఆడియన్స్ ను ఈ చిత్రం పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఆకట్టుకోకపోవచ్చు.

సాంకేతిక విభాగం :

టెక్నికల్ విభాగానికి వస్తే.. సినిమాలో సాంకేతిక విభాగం వర్క్ చాలా బాగుంది. మ్యూజిక్ సినిమాకు ప్లస్ అయ్యింది. ముఖ్యంగా మదర్ యాక్సిడెంట్ సీక్వెన్స్ లో నేపధ్య సంగీతం చాలా బాగుంది. అదే విధంగా సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ వర్క్ సినిమాకే హైలెట్ గా నిలుస్తుంది. దర్శకుడు శ్రీ కార్తీక్ స్క్రిప్ట్ పరంగానే కాకుండా, డైరెక్షన్ పరంగా కూడా చాలా బాగా ఆకట్టుకున్నాడు. ఇక నిర్మాతలు పాటించిన ప్రొడక్షన్ వాల్యూస్ కూడా చాలా బాగున్నాయి.

‘ఒకే ఒక జీవితం’ అంటూ వచ్చిన ఈ ఫీల్ గుడ్ ఎమోషనల్ డ్రామాలో గుడ్ ఎమోషన్స్, బెటర్ స్క్రిప్ట్, మరియు బెస్ట్ ఫీల్ ఉంది. అలాగే, శర్వానంద్ – అమల నటన, , ప్రియదర్శి – వెన్నెల కిషోర్‌ కామెడీ ఈ సినిమాలో మెయిన్ హైలైట్స్. పైగా సినిమా కూడా కళాత్మకంగా ఎమోషనల్ గా సాగుతూ ఆకట్టుకుంది. అయితే స్క్రీన్ ప్లే లో స్లో నెరేషన్, కొన్ని సన్నివేశాలు పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఆకట్టుకునే విధంగా లేకపోవడం వంటి అంశాలు సినిమాకి మైనస్ అయ్యాయి. కానీ, సినిమాలో కంటెంట్ అండ్ ట్రీట్మెంట్ అద్భుతంగా ఉంది. మొత్తమ్మీద ఈ చిత్రం మెప్పిస్తోంది.

Oke Oka Jeevitham Movie Review: A cathartic film with a big idea and a bigger heart

Time heals… But before we can get to the healing part, there are multiple stages that we all undergo. It is in one of these stages that filmmaker Shree Karthick decided to make his debut film, Oke Oka Jeevitham, which is an extension of his personal suffering, but not without the finesse of a well-made multi-genre film. It is interesting how Telugu cinema marries the sci-fi space with its quintessential masala tropes. We don't often see pure genre films in Telugu, and Oke Oka Jeevitham is no different, but it isn't a problem because the makers never intend to intellectualise this concept. Cast: Sharwanand, Amala, Vennela Kishore, Priyadarshi Director: Shree Karthick Oke Oka Jeevitham begins with a car accident, which has an interesting subversion. Right from this moment, Shree Karthick and team cleverly inject small doses of ingenuity into time-tested cliches that never once feel outdated. The film is about Aadhi ( Sharwanand ), who loses his mother (Amala Akkineni) at a very young age, and finds solace in music. However, his stage fright never allows him to break into the big leagues. His closest friends, played by Priyadarshi and Vennela Kishore, too have their own emotional baggage. The former is unable to find a partner to marry, and the latter has an inferiority complex connected to his unfinished school education and present profession as a real estate broker. Shree Karthick uses one of the songs from Jakes Bejoy's brilliant soundtrack to establish the characters of the three friends and their lives. Although, Aadhi's story carries more emotional heft than the others, full points to the makers for giving the usually neglected 'hero's friends' a fulfilling personal character arc. Throw in Nasser, his eclectic time machine, and we are in for a ride riddled with a bunch of existential questions that are treated rather lightly. It is imperative that a time-travel film has to follow the rules ascertained in that world. Oke Oka Jeevitham too has a set of simple rules for a simple sci-fi concept. However, it is so simple that even when Nasser explains time travel to the trio, there is hardly any resistance from them. They aren't really bothered about the ramifications of time travel, and this nonchalance is actually disconcerting. How can someone not stop and ask questions when the idea of time travel is put forth? This lack of wonderment is detrimental to the narrative, which replaces scientific jargon with sentimental dialogues. But, a lot of these missteps, including the rules of the world not really being followed to a T, are overshadowed by the universality of the sentiments, and the performances of the lead cast. Despite limited screentime, Amala , who is just known as 'Amma', is the soul of the film. She is the archetype of a doting mother, and it is interesting how she is not given a particular name. She could be anybody's amma, and that is the universality that Shree Karthick wants Oke Oka Jeevitham to cater to. The three kids — Jay, Hitesh, and Nithya — playing the younger versions of Sharwanand, Priyadarshi, and Vennela Kishore are very sincere in their roles and raise the standards high enough to ensure it isn't a walk in the park for their adult versions. Ritu Varma is given a role with very limited scope, but she makes the best of it. While the central conflict heavily works in favour of the film, it is these nifty side touches that warm the heart a bit more. In fact, the reason for Nasser to go back in time, and the ambiguity existing in his life is a fascinating addition to Oke Oka Jeevitham which might seem a largely simple amma-sentiment film. Just like how Shree Karthick’s debut film is a way of catharsis for the young filmmaker, this feeling is extended to the audience too. Watching Oke Oka Jeevitham, one gets transported to the wondrous yet taxing world of ‘What Ifs’. We have all once walked through these hallows to find answers to questions we wish we never had. Throughout all time-travel films, it has always been about one single want of the protagonist, which more often than not revolves around love… and regret, in any form. Shree Karthick and team give us a bunch of relatable characters that connect with us on such a deep level that we begin to envision ourselves as them. In fact, even during the runtime of the film, whenever I found time from wiping my tears or sporting a wide smile, I was traversing multiple timelines in my head. However, there is also the fear that too much is left to chance, and we aren’t sure if a course correction in our past is the best way forward. All we have is the present, and Shree Karthick has designed a film that might seem like a conversation with time but is a deeply introspective piece, which urges us to make peace with our decisions and where life has brought us. We know time heals… and films like Oke Oka Jeevitham remind us that art heals too.

Despite delivering many flops, Sharwanand has popularity. His latest film “Oke Oka Jeevitham” created a buzz with its trailer. He sounded confident about this film.

Let’s find out its merits and demerits.

Story: Adhi (Sharwanand) and his two friends (Vennela Kishore and Priyadarshi) agree to the experimentation of time travel through a machine, made by a scientist (Nasser).

Adhi wants to travel back to 1998. His mother was killed in a road accident on 28th March 1998. His idea is to go back in time and stop her mother from driving car on that day.

Will his plan work?

Artistes' Performances: An easy role for Sharwanand, and he nails it. As a son who can’t forget his mother, his performance seems real and natural.

After a long gap, Amala returns to the silver screen. She is perfect in the role. She brings gravitas to the emotional theme.

Priyadarshi and Vennela Kishore provide much-needed comic relief. Nasser as a scientist and Ritu Varma as Sharwanand’s girlfriend get their space. 

Technical Excellence: Songs and background music are gelled with the theme. But there is not a single catchy song. Other technicians have put in decent work. The VFX work should have been better.

Analysis At a time filmmakers are dishing out films with formulaic storylines, “Oke Oka Jeevitham” offers something new. The genre of time travel is less explored in Telugu cinema.

Interestingly, new director Shree Karthick has added a new twist to the time-travel concept and brings mother-son sentiment drama to it. Thus, the film is quite different from the rest of the pack. 

The film begins with the hero’s relationship with his father, his love story with his girlfriend, and his two friends.

The beginning portions don’t entice much. We begin to feel restless. But the film flies to a different level after the arrival of the time-travel machine.

Once the three friends travel back to 1998, the story provides laughs and generates interest. The scenes of Vennela Kishore’s interaction with the kid version of himself bring laughs.

The interval bang gives a new twist. The twist to the story adds novelty further. The second part of the film has some meaty moments and a strong emotional core but the flow is not smooth in the later portion.

In the penultimate portion, the sequence between Sharwanand and Amala Akkineni is another highlight. The three friends have proper character arcs. 

On the downside, the three kids and their struggles in the current era make less impact. The film lacks a consistent pace.

In a film where the protagonist is musician, the film doesn’t have a catchy song. Better songs would have lifted the film to another level. All the songs just serve purpose, don’t haunt us.

“Oke Oka Jeevitham” is sensibly made science-fiction with dollops of sentiment. It is not a regular commercial film. Those who appreciate novelty and emotional dramas will like it. Slow pace notwithstanding, it makes a decent watch. Keep your expectations under check, though.

The film gives an interesting spin to the time-travel angle in the story but the screenplay lacks the required punch at times

Aadhi, Seenu and Chaitanya are three inseparable buddies trying to take charge of their not-so-happening lives. Social anxiety and grief come in the way of Aadhi’s musical ambitions while Chaitanya’s major struggle is to find a dream life partner. Seenu is a small-time house broker regretting his inability to make it big in his life. A scientist Paul miraculously offers them an opportunity to set their destiny right while going back in time. Will their efforts pay off?

What if one gets a chance to revisit their formative years and reimagine their destiny? What if one gets to hold a conversation with their younger selves and reassert their expectations from life? Oke Oka Jeevitham is a product of an emotional backstory tied up with a bunch of playful yet ambitious ideas. The time-travel film is a story of personal acceptance and coming to terms with one’s present. On the writing front, it’s a fascinating attempt at a sci-fi comedy with a few bumps in its path.

In the first stretch of the film, director Shree Karthick throws light on the pessimism in the lives of its three protagonists. The narrative comes up with several reasons that compel these men to correct their past, go back in time. While Aadhi’s reason to revisit his childhood is convincing, one can’t help but feel that Seenu and Chaitanya are forced into the mix just to add up to the film’s fun quotient. When they’re actors as capable as Vennela Kishore and Priyadarshi, why not?

The film takes time to gain steam and works its charm on you once the sci-fi element comes into play. Time-travel films can be great tools to rekindle your nostalgia for earlier times and Shree Karthick uses the genre like a toy, with which he has great fun and mischief. Taking you through the era of STD booths, Doordarshan, ‘Washing Powder Nirma’ ads and freer roads, the filmmaker transports you into the late 90s with a lightweight touch, without overdoing the feel-good factor.

With all the pivotal characters, the writer-director comes up with insanely funny scenarios on their attempts to ‘reset’ their past. Seenu constantly chides his younger version to study well if he aims to have a good future, Chaitanya pushes his teenager-self to take his childhood crush seriously while Aadhi builds himself a strong foundation for a career in music. Sharwanand brings restraint and calm to the colourful narrative, being the son craving some time from his mom.

There’s a classic ‘hand in your mouth’ intermission twist that turns the narrative on its head. The filmmaker’s ambitious aims, however, invite a few complications in the screenplay. The nostalgic, happy-go-lucky dimension in the story takes a backseat and the film transitions into a thriller. There’s no harm in the tonal change but the film loses its grip while going back and forth between the past and present. The protagonists are presented with newer challenges every minute.

In the process of resolving its multiple conflicts, the emotional connect in the story goes for a toss. There are key decisions one makes with complex screenplays in sci-fi films - you either take the ‘Aditya 369’, ‘Manam’ route and make the proceedings more accessible for the common man or trust them to connect the dots without spoonfeeding them. Oke Oka Jeevitham opts for the latter.

Despite the middling 30 minutes post the interval, the climax provides you with an emotional high, joy and some terrific moments of self-reflection. Chaitanya reminds his younger self to smile more and keep his expectations in check, Aadhi prepares his child-version to take on the world without fear and Seenu discusses the need to be streetsmart. When a filmmaker pays heed to such intricate details, you end up appreciating the journey’s intent more than looking at it as a playful exercise.

However, there are other problems with the film. Amala Akkineni comes across as an endearing personality but doesn’t penetrate the emotional layers of the film as much as you’d expect her to. She appears a tad too guarded and self-conscious to lend warmth to her portrayal. It’s an encouraging sign when a mainstream actor like Sharwanand shoulders a not-so-mainstream narrative, trusting a filmmaker fully. Ritu Varma has a brief role but makes an impact.

Priyadarshi has turned choosy with his roles lately and this is good news, especially when he gets offers like Oke Oka Jeevitham where you genuinely appreciate the earnestness he brings to the table. Vennela Kishore’s golden run continues in an oddball role tailormade to complement his strengths. Nasser, Ravichander provide formidable support to the narrative. The child actors - Hitesh, Jay Adithya and Nithyaraj - are an absolute delight and light up the screen with their presence.

With bilinguals, it’s a given that you will miss a regional touch to the proceedings, purely by the way you look at a city, surroundings or its past. Beyond the leads, the film needed more familiar faces at least to ensure that authenticity. On the technical front, the film is sharp. Cinematographer Sujith Sarang and art director Satheeskumar play by the book while recreating the 90s - with the use of cassettes, landline phones, pagers and other elements - but offer the viewer a visually compelling glimpse of the period beyond the overly rose-tinted outlook. This is also Jakes Bejoy’s best work in his Telugu stint to date.

This is a promising debut for Shree Karthick. The film may have its share of flaws though it gives us a filmmaker who isn’t afraid to break the mould even within the limitations of the genre.

Oke Oka Jeevitham is a sci-fi comedy that gives you a lot to cheer, introspect and helps you appreciate your present without getting preachy. There are occasional jerks in the storytelling but the film remains largely memorable, thanks to the assured performances by Sharwanand, Priyadarshi and Vennela Kishore.
