Best Minimal: Kensington Wireless Presenter

If you only require the basics, there's no need to look beyond the Kensington Wireless presenter (it also comes with a laser pointer). Battery life: Varies | Range: Up to 65 feet

Best Laser: Canon PR10-G Wireless Presentation Remote

The Canon PR10-G wireless presentation remote has a bright green laser that is eight times more powerful than the standard red laser found on most of the competition. With no complicated setup on the Canon, you can jump right into presentation mode (it has a 100-foot range). The LCD display provides quick access to signal strength, as well as a timer, so you know exactly how long you've been on stage.

You can also add preset alerts at designated times to keep your stage time in check. The receiver works with both Microsoft and Apple systems, including all related productivity suites. The ergonomic build is lightweight and comfortable to hold in your hand.

Battery life: Varies | Range: Up to 100 feet

Final Verdict

Affordable and functional, you really can’t go wrong with the Beboncool Wireless Presenter (view at Walmart ) and its built-in laser pointer. But if you’re someone who presents on a regular basis, it may be worth investing in the Canon PR10-G (vie at Amazon ) for its features. Its long-range and LCD screen that displays a timer will allow you to move freely and help you keep track of time.

What to Look for in Presentation Clickers

You don’t want to be in the middle of a presentation and have your clicker die out. A long battery life, the ability to recharge, and being able to check battery levels will help you avoid losing power or carrying extra batteries in your pocket.

If you plan to walk across a stage or work in a large room, you’ll want a presentation clicker that can move around with you and still perform well from longer distances (preferably, at least 100 feet). Of course, if you know that you’re just presenting in a conference room or classroom, a shorter range will be sufficient.

Compatibility

Many presentation clickers work on both Windows and Apple devices, but some may not. You’ll also want to investigate if the clicker is plug and play or if you need to download software to get it up and running. Simpler setups are always going to make life easier, especially if you will be using a variety of laptops and devices.

Do you want a built-in laser pointer? What about a built-in reminder to keep tabs on your timing? Would you prefer a few buttons or extra functions? These are some of the bells and whistles you may want to consider if you’re shopping for higher-end presentation clickers.

The 8 Best Presentation Laser Pointers

Presentation laser pointers come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Whether you are a professional or just starting out, this review will help you get the device that matches your presentation needs. These are the eight best presentation laser pointers.

The Best Presentation Laser Pointer

Kensington k72427ama expert presentation laser pointer.

The Kensington Expert K72427AMA has all the features you need for a laser pointer. It also comes with the perfect balance of price and the features that make an impact on a presentation.

The USB receiver stays connected for up to 150 feet, and it also serves as an SD card reader. You can keep your presentation on an SD card, plug it into any computer, and the Kensington Expert K72427AMA will do all the configuration for you.

We like the design of this pointer because it is comfortable, and the contours make it feel natural while in your hands. The Kensington Expert K72427AMA has backlit buttons and built-in joystick for mouse control, making it easy to navigate through your slideshow. Although it has a bit of a learning curve, these navigation features gave us better control while presenting.

The Kensington Expert K72427AMA is an excellent tool for professionals who want to make effective presentations without veering into the premium side of laser pointers.

Logitech Spotlight Presentation Digital Pointer

If you are feeling a little extravagant or want to take your presentations to the next level, then the Logitech Spotlight will bring out the master presenter in you. It has a premium look with premium features, and it is the most advanced presentation pointer we have seen.

Of all the laser pointers we tested, the Logitech Spotlight is the only one that gave us the  wow factor.  It goes beyond what we thought was possible for a presentation tool. Logitech ditched the traditional laser pointer in exchange for the ability to highlight or magnify specific details on the screen. It also gave us full control during presentations. We were able to open links, play videos, and manage everything using smart gestures.

This device has a Smart Time Management feature that lets you keep track of the time spent on your presentation. You can configure the Logitech Spotlight to vibrate five minutes before your closing so that you can wrap things up, and another when your time is up.

The features of the Logitech Spotlight redefine presentation, but it comes at a fairly high price. Still, it’s worth it if you want to take your presentations and style to the next level.

Canon PR10-G Presentation Laser Pointer

If you’re looking for a pointer that you can use even in bright auditoriums, then the Canon PR10-G Laser Pointer is the best that you can get. It is not the most feature-packed nor the one that gives the best value, but it has an excellent balance of interaction, usability, and reliability.

The PR10-G Presentation Laser Pointer uses a green laser light that Canon claims to be eight times more visible than traditional red lasers. We tried it for ourselves, and it is more visible, even at a distance of 100 feet from the screen and the USB receiver.

This device has an LCD for the timer, signal strength, and battery. You can also set vibration alerts at predetermined times to remind you when to start wrapping things up and start closing your presentation. We like how Canon designed the navigation controls on the PR10-G Laser Pointer, and it’s just right where the thumb rests while holding the device. Although the grip could have been better by having a bit more contour, it still feels nice to hold with just enough heft to it.

A lot of presentation laser pointers offer too many features, trying to be too many things at the same time. The Canon PR10-G, on the other hand, lets you focus on presenting by having the navigation controls right where you need them to be. It may not be the most affordable option, but it is one of the few devices that lets you get in the zone and have the best presentation every time.

Red Star Tec PR-820 Presentation Laser Pointer

As a wireless mouse and a laser pointer at the same time, the Red Star Tec PR-820 Presentation Laser Pointer will let you have full control over the laptop even from a distance of 50 feet. It has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get used to it, you will be able to interact with your presentation seamlessly.

This model can be very tricky and overwhelming to use, with 15 buttons all at your fingertips. These buttons include mouse control, volume, navigation, and action buttons. However, there is no other pointer in its price range that came close to the level of interaction that it can offer. Whatever you can do with a real mouse, you can do with the Red Star Tec PR-820.

This laser pointer is compatible with PowerPoint and Keynote, without pairing or configurations. You only need to plug the USB receiver into any regular or mini laptop , and you already have full control. The design feels natural and comfortable even during long presentations. The buttons are rubbery, similar to the ones you have on remote controls, which can be an acquired taste.

The Red Star Tec PR-820 may not have the best user experience, and it requires a bit of a learning curve. However, it is one of the few pointers that can offer full control, not only with the presentation but the whole computer as well. If you are looking for more than just a laser pointer with basic functionality, this device is worth considering.

DinoFire (Black & Green) Presentation Laser Pointer

DinoFire Presentation Laser Pointer is the slimmest device on this list, about the same size as a permanent marker. Still, it is powerful enough to control your presentations from 300 feet away. Pointers should be portable, and DinoFire took it to the next level without compromising its performance in other areas.

This device is a plug-and-play laser pointer that will let you open links, control the volume, switch to different applications, page up and down, and enable full-screen mode. It can support several applications, including MS PowerPoint, Word & Excel, Google Slides, ACDSee, iWork Numbers & Pages, Keynote, and Prezi.

The bright green laser light makes it easy to highlight details on your presentation even in bright auditoriums, but it diminishes when used on LCD. It runs on a 360 mAh lithium-ion battery that takes 60 minutes to charge, and it has a battery indicator function, so you will never go to a presentation with a low battery.

If you are looking for a slim pointer that you can slip into your pocket, the DinoFire Presentation Laser Pointer is your best choice. The grip may not be preferable for some, but it is the best slim laser pointer in terms of features, connectivity, and compatibility.

BlueBeach Presentation Laser Pointer

If you want a device that will help you deliver the message without breaking the bank, the BlueBeach Presentation Laser Pointer is the best that you can buy. It doesn’t have the fancy features that you can use for your presentation, but this is the best pointer that you can buy for less than $15.

This model uses a red laser pointer with buttons that will help you navigate through your slide. You can also do basic tasks to enhance your presentation like page up and down, darken the screen, and escape or resume. It stays connected to the receiver for up to 30 feet, but it gets sluggish. We recommend that you only use the BlueBeach Presentation Laser Pointer if you are presenting in classrooms or small group meetings.

One thing that we love about this pointer is the design. The contours are perfect. It feels natural in hand and is lightweight.

There’s nothing that makes the BlueBeach Presentation Laser Pointer stand out, but it will help you deliver outstanding presentations on a budget.

Be sure to browse our list of these reliable mini portable projectors and find the right one for your next presentation.

Amerteer Presentation Laser Pointer

The Amerteer Presentation Laser Pointer may be compact, but it offers unique design elements. This pointer is the smallest that we have tried, and it is the easiest to hold. You don’t have to worry about its grip or handle because it has an adjustable rubberized finger ring design where you slip your index finger through. This smart design implementation gave us the most natural and comfortable feel while holding a laser pointer.

This device has five buttons that are all within your thumb’s reach. These buttons will allow you to navigate through the presentation, launch or end the slideshow, open a black screen, and activate the red laser pointer. It is straightforward and feels so natural that I noticed my fingers still in the same position even after I removed this device.

This laser pointer works well even if the clicker is 100 feet away from the receiver, allowing you to engage with a large audience. It is compatible with both Windows and Mac, and it supports the most popular presentation apps.

This product is in the same category as the BlueBeach Laser Pointer but with very different design implementation. If you are looking for a budget-friendly and compact laser pointer, the Amerteer is an excellent option for you. The smart design implemented on this device will let you focus more on the presentation rather than what you have in your hands.

Kensington K33374USB Presentation Laser Pointer

The Kensington K33374USB Presentation Laser Pointer is our pick for the best grip and usability. Although other pointers offer a nice grip, the contours on this pointer feel very natural. We like the surface of this pointer because it provides a bit of resistance, making it the best laser pointer for people with sweaty palms.

This device has four equally spaced buttons that protrude from the surface, making it easy to use even without looking. The Kensington K33374USB Presentation Laser Pointer has the most straightforward navigation buttons that we have seen in a laser pointer. The navigation buttons include previous/next slide, laser pointer, and start/launch slideshow. There is almost no learning curve, so you can begin presenting like a pro as soon as you start using it.

This laser pointer works on both Windows and Mac from a distance of 65 feet. The red light laser works well even when used in bright rooms, but it is not as visible on LCD. The USB receiver delivers 2.4GHz of wireless connection, but it is quite bulky. Although it has dedicated storage inside the device, we still prefer a smaller USB receiver.

There is no other laser pointer that is more straightforward and as comfortable as the Kensington K33374USB. It is very reliable and never lost its connection throughout the entire two-hour test that we did. These attributes make it the best laser pointer for first-time users.

Pocket-lint

Best laser pointer: let these gadgets point the way.

A good laser pointer can be indispensable for presentations and clear communication. Here are some of the very best.

A good laser pointer can be a surprisingly versatile little tool - you can use it to elevate any presentation you might have to make, letting you point to specific data without needing to generalise or make big gestures, for example, as well as easily changing between slides.

Equally, it can be a fun little toy to play with (provided you keep it away from your eyes at all costs!), and can be great for playing with pets who'll lock onto it like a target. We've gathered a few of the best pointers you can buy right now - check them out right here.

Kensington Wireless Presenter

Wireless presenter, victsing wireless presenter, logitech wireless presenter r400, dinssrfire presentation clicker laser pointer, our guide to the best laser pointer to buy today.

A great pick

Great for professional use.

This simple, business-like laser pointer is perfect for the board room or home office, and has clear controls to let you move through a presentation.

There's a handy USB dongle to quickly pair it to your computer, and a huge range means you don't even have to be near your device for it to work.

Good alternative

Another very solid pointer.

This laser pointer is a great alternative that's similarly aimed at professionals for presentation purposes. It's pen-shaped meaning that it can easily slip into a pocket or bag.

You get controls for your presentation and the all-important laser pointer is clear and powerful without being too risky for safety.

Solid option

Excellent for use in presentations.

This pointer looks much like the one above, and offers many of the same features including presentation controls, a red laser pointer and its own dongle for connections.

It's simple and easy to use, and comfortable to hold as well, and the dongle makes it easy to pair and gives solid range.

TMMDH Cat Toy

Great for fun

Great for pets, and lacking in connectivity for simpler use.

If you want something that has a little more fun to offer up, this pack of three pointers is perfect. It has three colours - red, green and purple, meaning that you can swap them out as you like.

It doesn't have any connectivity or smart features, and keeps things simple with just the laser to point, and that makes it great for pet owners who want to distract their furry friends for some playtime.

A nicely shaped laser inter from a brand that you can usually count on.

Nothing says you're in control more than bringing your own laser pointer into a presentation. And that's exactly what the Logitech Wireless Presenter R400 is made for.

While Logitech says that it will work with all presentation programs, some may be more compatible than others.

One thing we really like about this laser pointer is its ergonomic shape. So many others are just a slender stick-like design, but this fits nicely in the hand.

ESYWEN Laser Pointer

Easy on the wallet

Simple, accessible, and budget-friendly.

You don't need to go out and spend all your money to get a solid laser pointer for presentations. The ESYWEN Laser Pointer is a perfect example of this, with a super budget friendly price.

It has a good range of about 82 feet for its 2.4GHz connection. Some may use it simply as a toy for their pets even. And for this price, it's no wonder. The simple buttons make it even more accessible.

WORD GX Adjustable Focus Blue LED

Strong blue laser

Super powerful laser pinter that can be used for fun nighttime outdoor activities. Though responsibility is required.

Some laser pointers are made a bit more powerful than others. The WORD GX Adjustable Focus Blue LED is one such, and not an example you'd want to hold a presentation with.

It's great fun at nighttime with its various patterns. And you can even use it to start your camp fire if you like. But be aware that it is extremely powerful and shouldn't be pointed at anyone at any time.

A slim laser pointer with a long range.

The Presentation Clicker Laser Pointer is slim and handy, offering 100ft of range through its 2.4GHz connection.

This pretty much means that no matter how big the room is, you'll have a connection to the screen to flip through your slides. It's also got great compatibility for a wide range of apps.

One issue might be the button layout, which can take some getting used to.

How to add a highlighter to your mouse pointer in Windows 10

Your email has been sent

Image of Mark W. Kaelin

For many of us operating in a modern work environment, having a team meeting often means we are using some form of remote online collaboration tool like Microsoft Teams or Zoom . When you are leading one of these online meetings, getting and holding everyone’s attention can be a challenge. Any visual aid you can bring to the table would be helpful.

SEE: 83 Excel tips every user should master (TechRepublic)

In Microsoft Windows 10 , using a setting found deep in the Control Panel , you can add a simple pulsing highlighter visual cue to your standard mouse pointer. This small bit of flare can help you get and keep the attention of your audience during your next meeting or presentation. However, as you might expect, turning this mouse pointer highlighter feature on is not as simple as it should be.

This how-to tutorial shows you how to activate the pulsing mouse pointer highlighter feature in Windows 10.

SEE: Zoom 101: A guidebook for beginners and business pros (TechRepublic Premium)

For reasons we can only speculate, typing “mouse options” or “mouse properties” or “mouse settings” in the Windows 10 desktop search box will not take us to where we need to go for this specific setting. Any one of those search terms will, however, take us to the general mouse settings screen shown in Figure A .

pointer for presentation on computer

As you scroll down the mouse settings page, you are presented with two links to additional mouse settings. The first link takes you to a page where you can adjust the color and size of your cursor and mouse pointer. The second link, labeled Additional Mouse Options, is where we need to go, so click it to get to the Windows 10 Control Panel for mouse settings shown in Figure B .

pointer for presentation on computer

Click the Pointer Options tab to reveal the mouse setting screen shown in Figure C . Near the bottom of this screen you will see a checkbox labeled Show Location of Pointer When I Press the CTRL key. Check the box and click Apply.

pointer for presentation on computer

When you click Apply, you may see a new screen informing you that some Microsoft .NET runtime files are being installed, click Continue to finish that process.

Once the setting is applied, click the OK button to close the mouse settings window.

SEE: How to activate and use Color Picker in Windows 10 PowerToys (TechRepublic)

Now, when you place your mouse over a button or other item you would like to highlight for your meeting or presentation and then press and release the CTRL button on your keyboard, Windows 10 will highlight the position with a circular highlighting pulse.

To turn it off after your meeting or presentation is over, just follow this process again, uncheck the setting and click Apply.

How to get more intense cursor highlights

This simple pulsing mouse pointer highlighter, used in conjunction with a larger and more colorful mouse pointer, may be all you need to give your next meeting a little spark. However, if you want to have more options for your mouse pointer during meetings you will have to resort to either installing new cursor images into Windows 10, opt for third-party software or apply a combination of both methods.

Best Presentation Remotes for Windows PCs in 2022

What are the best wireless presentation remotes for PC? These are.

pointer for presentation on computer

If you're giving a big presentation, the ability to move and interact more with your audience is incredibly valuable. If you have to awkwardly stand up behind your laptop the whole time, it's nowhere near as engaging.

You need a reliable presentation remote that connects easily and travels well. Here are our recommendations for the best options for PCs.

Satechi Bluetooth Smart Pointer

Logitech r800, kensington k33374usa.

Why you can trust Windows Central Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test .

Satechi

I work for a well-traveled magician on the side, and we never go anywhere without our Satechi Bluetooth Smart Pointers. He's gone through three brands, and Satechi has always stood out as the best. The remote connects via Bluetooth and has a fantastic range. (We've generally had great luck between 20 and 30 feet).

If you're clicking through a slideshow and need to go back to a specific slide, there's a handy number pad hidden behind a little slide-out door. If you enter the number of the slide, it'll go back for you, which is incredibly handy when music misfires for a magic trick and you need to try to recapture the wonder.

My whole show rides on my presentation triggering properly, and the Satechi remote has been the only one I've used that works every time — Chris Funk, The Wonderist

You can also control music playback, skip tracks and slides, and control the volume of your device, so you don't need to be anywhere near your computer to do what you need to. These remotes are $45 on Amazon and come in black or silver.

The Logitech R800 features a bright green laser pointer that's easy to see in any room, and the USB wireless receiver should allay any worries you might feel using a Bluetooth remote. With a 100-foot range, you're free to move about as you please without worrying about losing your connection.

The R800 has an LCD display that features a timer, which delivers silent vibrational alerts, so you can keep track of time without having to disengage from your audience. The large buttons are easy to navigate without having to look, and you'll get solid battery life from just two AAA batteries. Pricing starts around $50.

Doosl

Doosl's presentation remote is a little thicker than a pen, but it'll still fit comfortably in your pocket, and its hook helps it stay in place so you always know where it is. It features a laser pointer, so you can get the whole room focused on what matters, and it has great page-up and page-down support, as well as play, pause, and black screen controls for PowerPoint presentations.

The universal receiver means you can just plug in and go — no driver or pairing is required. Just in case you forget to turn off your Doosl, it features auto standby and "deep sleep" modes to conserve battery. Pricing starts at only $15.

Kensington

Kensington's $30-ish wireless presenter is designed to be ergonomic, with a comfortable in-hand feel and a simple button layout that allows you to switch back and forth between slides and use the laser pointer without needing to constantly look down at your hand.

The mini USB receiver fits in the remote's housing, so it never gets lost, and you don't need to pair the remote with your computer or install a driver — just plug it in and away you go. The receiver has a 60-foot range, so you'll be able to move about the room with confidence, knowing you'll stay connected.

DinoFire

Aside from its wicked cool name, the DinoFire presentation remote is an awesome, pen-sized device that uses an RF receiver to communicate with your computer. It can control PowerPoint, the whole iWork suite, Word, and Excel, so if you're giving any sort of business presentation, you're covered. And at only around $14, you can grab a couple for the road.

This remote runs on one AAA battery, and that's either convenient because you don't need to remember to charge it, or it's a little inconvenient because you can't just recharge it on the go. The RF receiver has a 98-foot range, so whether you're in a conference room or an auditorium, you're connected and in control.

pointer for presentation on computer

This wireless presentation remote features a USB receiver, a 39-foot range, and an excellent button layout for presentations where full engagement is key. The forward and back buttons are defined by raised bumps, so you know exactly which way your presentation is going at all times. There's also a blackout mode, so you can cut to black at the end or while you prepare your presentation.

For $15, this remote isn't exactly feature-rich, but according to its Amazon reviews , it's reliable and a great minimalist option. It supports the Office suite, and it has a red laser pointer. And it takes one AAA battery.

What say you?

Updated February 2018: Added the Beboncool budget option and swapped in the Logitech R800 in place of the R400, since its LCD display is perfect for timed presentations and total control. Also added pricing for each remote.

3 Best Digital Laser Pointers For LED/LCD TV Screens: A 2024 Buyer’s Guide

Norwii digital laser pointer N96

Loved the read? Please share or comment, and we'll deliver even better content!

Presenters can transform and elevate their presentations by using a digital laser to highlight details on-screen.

No physical light source is required!

If you’re new to the world of digital lasers, what they are, and how they work, check out our article Can You Use a Laser Pointer on a TV Screen (LED/LCD)?

But, one question remains: which digital laser pointer should accompany you to your next company meeting? You head to Amazon but, to an untrained eye, they all look the same.

We’ve compiled a list of the three best digital laser pointers for 2023, complete with a Buyer’s Guide so you know what to look for in this new and improved presentation aid.

Let’s get started!

IN A HURRY? HERE ARE OUR TOP PICKS

Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote - Advanced Digital Highlighting with Bluetooth, Universal Presenter Clicker, 30M Range and Quick Charging –...

Last update on 2024-04-10 / Paid Link.

Quick Navigation

1. Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote

2. asing advanced digital laser remote, 3. norwii n95 presentation remote, ensure the laser is digital, long range , compatibility, wrapping it up, three digital laser pointer recommendations.

  • Highlight and magnify on screen - go beyond traditional laser pointing. Use the advanced pointer...
  • Mouse-like cursor control - Use the on-screen cursor to play and pause videos, open links, and enjoy...
  • Smart time management - Spotlight reminds you when it's time to wrap up. The presentation remote...

Nothing says sophistication like a compact, high-tech, and chic presentation aid.

The Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote encompasses all three of these characteristics, combining them into the sleekest remote you’ve ever seen.

In addition to its attractive aesthetics, this digital laser pointer also boasts several smart features.

Simply download the Logitech presentation app where you can customize your remote’s timer to buzz when you have a few minutes left of your presentation, then again when your time has run out.

You can also change the pointer from a spotlight, which magnifies items on-screen, to a small outline of a circle, which comes in handy with busy charts.

You can also use the pointer as an on-screen cursor, select items on-screen, change the slide, and play videos.

To use this stylish laser, charge it with its USB-C charging cable and then plug the USB dongle into your laptop’s USB port.

You won’t have to worry about finding a charging dock at the meeting’s location since this digital laser can keep its charge for up to three months.

It can also be used up to 30 meters (98.4 feet) away from the TV, and can even be used with projectors.

What we like

  • We love how long this digital laser pointer keeps its charge.
  • It has an impressive 30-meter range.
  • Its design is absolutely breathtaking.

What we don’t like

  • Some MacBook users have complained that it’s not compatible with certain MacOS versions.
  • Advanced Digital Presentation Remote in Mode M2: Used for Spotlighting, Highlighting, Magnifying any...
  • Red Laser Pointer in Mode M1: Base on the traditional laser pointer function, it also has electronic...
  • Smart Timer and Anti-Lost: Countdown alert and time showing help to manage your presentation time...

While the ASiNG Advanced Digital Laser Remote may look like your everyday run-of-the-mill remote, it packs quite a punch!

Highlight areas of the screen with its spotlight mode or point at items on-screen with its pointer mode, which looks like a traditional laser’s red dot.

Additionally, you can adjust the spotlight’s size depending on your preferences.

You can switch the remote’s mode with a simple flick of the switch found on the side of the pointer.

Presentations are all about holding your audience’s attention and nothing does that better than interactive diagrams on screen.

You can use this digital laser’s electronic marking function to draw on-screen, keeping your presentation fun and engaging.

Like the Logitech remote, it also has a cursor feature. So you can select clickable icons on-screen even if you’re meters away from your laptop or tablet.

I may not be much of a talker, but when nerves get the best of me, I begin to ramble. Luckily, this remote has a time management feature to keep you on track by displaying a digital countdown timer.

The forgetful presenters out there will appreciate this gadget’s anti-lost function which reminds you to unplug the remote’s USB dongle from your laptop once your presentation has finished.

You can also save files on the USB dongle, which includes up to 128GB of storage.

  • We love this digital laser’s electronic marking function that allows you to draw on-screen.
  • We like how you can adjust the spotlight’s size to fit your presentation’s graphics.
  • The digital countdown timer is discrete but helpful.
  • Some users have complained that the remote’s design is a little bulky.
  • Wild Compatibility - ①Optimized to work with Windows 7, Mac OS 10.2 or later, and all leading...
  • Highlight and magnify on screen - Go beyond traditional laser pointer. The advanced digital pointer...
  • Mouse-like cursor control and Customization - ①Control the cursor in the air to play and pause...

Sleek and simple is the name of the game for this Norwii N95 Presentation Remote. Its design is similar to that of the Logitech remote but at a slightly lower price point.

Like all of the other digital lasers, the Norwii laser pointer connects to your computer via its USB dongle.

The best thing about this stylish remote is its multitude of buttons that all serve practical functions.

You can change the pointer mode by double-clicking the pointer key, so you can switch from highlight mode, to pointer mode, to magnifier mode in the middle of your presentation.

This remote’s pointer mode looks like a red dot on-screen.

It also features an air mouse which allows you to click on anything from the screen, including hyperlinks to other pages.

The two outward-facing arrow buttons not only allow you to go from one slide to the next but also enter/exit full-screen and black out the screen.

The blackout screen feature is particularly impactful since few people enjoy seeing the “End of slide show, click to exit” screen at the end of a PowerPoint presentation.

Have you ever played a video in the middle of your presentation, only to damage your audience’s eardrums with the insanely loud volume?

If so, you’ll love this laser’s volume control buttons which allow you to quickly adjust the volume level right from the remote!

The Norwii’s E-draw and erase buttons also allow you to draw on-screen and then quickly erase it with the click of a button!

It has a competitively long 50-meter (165 feet) range, so you can take a stroll around the stage or auditorium without losing the signal.

Additionally, you only need to charge it for two hours every few weeks without worrying about the batter dying.

f the battery is low, have no fear! You can quickly plug it into your laptop’s USB port with its USB-C charging cable before your meeting.

Like the ASiNG model, this digital laser also stores files on its USB dongle, so your presentation aid and files are all in one place.

  • We love how easy it is to switch this digital laser’s modes.
  • The volume control is an added bonus.
  • Its design is simple but stylish and professional.

What we don’t like

  • Some users complained that their remote’s software glitched at times.

Buyer’s Guide

You’re new to the wonderful world of digital lasers so, when browsing models, you’re not sure what’s important.

Additionally, many models boast similar features, so it can be difficult to find which one will best suit your needs.

Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. We’ve come up with a list of the top three things to keep your eye out for when digital laser shopping.

digital Norwii laser pointer is working on a monitor

It’s important to differentiate between digital lasers and wireless ones. Digital ones display a spotlight or dot on the TV screen, preventing any damage to the screen’s pixels.

Wireless lasers, on the other hand, still project a traditional physical light.

So, while they do connect to your laptop via a USB dongle, allowing you to use the remote to change slides and control other features, they do not display a digital laser.

To avoid any confusion, ensure the product description specifically says “digital laser” in it and states it’s safe to use with LED/LCD TV screens.

What’s the point of using a digital laser pointer if you can’t venture more than a few meters away from the TV screen?

To make sure that you can move freely around the room, ensure that your digital laser pointer has a decent range.

How long the range should be will depend on your preferences and the size of the space you plan on presenting in.

This issue is most relevant to prospective buyers who plan on using their digital lasers with their monitors or laptops.

While some digital laser pointers boast compatibility with all operating systems, others do not.

So, it’s important to check that the OS you plan on using is supported by the remote.

Some digital laser pointers are incompatible with certain OS versions, so check which version is installed on your device.

If it is incompatible, consider updating it to a compatible version if possible.

There’s so much to consider when purchasing a digital laser pointer and with all of the remotes listed above being excellent choices, it’s hard to choose a definite winner.

That said, our top choice is the ASiNG Advanced Digital Laser Presentation Remote .

While not as sleek as the Logitech or Norwii remotes, its added features make it stand out from the crowd.

It’s compatible with all operating systems and very few users reported problems with the software glitching.

The switch on the side makes it easy to shift between modes and it offers an electronic marking function so you can draw on-screen.

Additionally, its digital countdown timer is invaluable to any presenter who struggles with time management.

It also has a moderate price point, demonstrating that you don’t have to break the bank to look (and feel!) like the professional you are.

Have you ever used a digital laser pointer before? Which of our top three digital lasers would you choose?

But I need a LCD capable laser pointer that does not have any kind of blue-tooth or wifi capability. Something that I’m able to bring on military bases.

Thank you so much for this article and all your research and knowledge. I am trying to teach my recently retired husband how to work from home with me and my arm is tired from pointing at his screen. I will be able to teach him much more easily now! I was very frustrated trying to find answers as to whether laser pointers would damage his computer monitor and your article taught me everything I needed to know! Again, thank you! I am going to take your advice and try the ASiNG Advanced Digital Laser.
