This residency requirement can be reduced with the consent of the student's advisor but the department expects that every student will be resident for at least 3 years. Part-Time : The candidate should be working in an industry/organisation involved in computer science research/teaching and located within 50 kms of IIT. Candidates working more than 50 kms away from IIT Delhi should keep in mind that they would have to take at least 3 years leave from work to be able to pursue Ph.D. at IIT Delhi. Eligibility : The candidate should be a M.Tech. in Computer Science or a related discipline (Computer Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication etc). B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. in Computer Science or related discipline or MCA with a valid GATE score in CS/IT/ECE M.Sc in Maths/Physics/Statistics with a valid GATE score in their subject Graduates in Science/Engineering with an outstanding academic record and a valid GATE score in their subject can also be considered for admission.
