How to find and extract the research documents from the Ashika Science Center in Warzone 2 DMZ

Image of Marc Santos

The science center on Ashika Island is one of the map’s many potential hotspots, and it just so happens that one of Warzone 2 ‘s DMZ faction quests involves raiding this building. The ‘Toxic Research’ mission will have players rummaging through the center hoping to snatch sensitive info. Thankfully, this job isn’t as complicated as the others. Here’s how to do it in Warzone 2 DMZ, which includes how to find and extract the research documents from the Ashika Science Center.

Warzone 2 DMZ — Where to find Ashika Science Center research documents

The center is located directly west of Tsuki Castle, right between the Town Center and the Ashika Power Plant . Players will need to get a copy of the Research Center Room key — they won’t be able to get the research documents from the Ashika Science Center without it. There’s no need to bring anything else here (except maybe for a gun or two ).

Random keys often drop from HVTs, so try completing some of Warzone 2 DMZ’s HVT elimination contracts in hopes of getting one . Alternatively, loot the coats and jackets hanging on walls as they might have a spare key or two in their pockets.

The location of the research documents in  Warzone 2

Once you get the Research Center Room key, head to the second floor of the center and look for the grey door marked with an X . Open it up and loot everything inside. The research documents should be near the desk . There should also be a couple of orange supply caches here, which may contain weapons, valuables, or even Building 21 Access Cards. After all of that’s done, head to the nearest exfil zone, call a chopper, and head home.

The Ashika Science Center isn’t as heavily fortified as its neighboring Strongholds, but you can bet there are still some Shadow Company agents in the general area. Also, since this building is a quest area, there’s a big chance that other players will be trying to get the research documents as well, so keep an eye out.

How to Complete Toxin Research Mission in DMZ

Image of Sullivan Pearson

If you are a fan of Call of Duty games, then you’ve definitely heard of Call of Duty Warzone 2 by now. Although Activision’s latest title in the COD franchise didn’t start off so well, it has battled its way through the warzone to the top of many players’ lists – pun intended. The game offers plenty of intense battles with lots of action as you duke it out with AI enemies or even other players in its different modes. However, the community’s favorite by far has been DMZ, where you collect as much loot as you can from the zone as possible.

There are plenty of side missions and quests in Warzone 2 DMZ which you can complete in order to earn a wide variety of rewards, including weapon insurance slots or other great bonuses to improve your gameplay progress. In this guide we cover the Toxin Research mission, which is a Tier 4 faction mission assigned by the White Lotus faction.

How Do You Complete Toxin Research in Warzone 2?

warzone-dmz-header

The largest issue that players will face when attempting to complete Toxin Research is that it certainly makes you trek around the map for a bit. Make sure that you are first familiar with both the smuggling tunnels and also the Ashika Science Center before attempting it. Here are the three parts to this mission that you must complete.

  • Obtain the research documents from the Ashika Science Center .
  • Bring these research documents down into the smuggling tunnels .
  • Also, you will need to put a gas can in the smuggling tunnels .

How Do You Find the Research Documents?

You will first need the Research Center Key, which can be obtained by killing high-value targets for a Contract or can be found in Al Mazrah. After that, head to E5 where you can find the Ashika Science Center, and enter it before heading to the second floor of the building. Take the first right you can, and then use the Research Center Key to unlock the door, behind which you will find the research documents you are looking for under a desk.

Grab the Gas Can

Your next step is to grab a gas can to bring into the smuggling tunnels with you, which can be found at various parts along the map. Bringing both items at once will help to save you precious time in DMZ and accomplish this quest a lot quicker than if you did them one at a time. Double check before you head into the smuggling tunnels that you have both items on you.

Leave the Items in the Smuggling Tunnels

DMZ Toxin Research

As you can see above on the map, head to the smuggling tunnels entrance first and then go down the well to access them. AI cannot use the rappel to get into the tunnels, so you will know that no enemies are sneaking up behind you as you make your way to the drop point. Once you arrive to the specified part of the map, place both the gas can and research documents there and enjoy your success! Congratulations on completing this mission!

Documents logging the ingoing and outgoing cargo shipments of Al Mazrah. There's a series of documents recording shipments from over 10 years ago, and then a series of documents from the past 5 years. In many shipments to and from Mexico and Russia, the total recorded cargo is light for the size of the ship being used. A series of Russian ships from 14 years ago are recorded to have sunken without definite cause.
Black Mous seems to have taken an interest in our research. For some privacy I hide the drill elsewhere but ideally we need to dispose of it soon. I left a better description for its location in another hidden container. I got the new recruits to bury it off the coast near the Sawah Village. They probably got lazy and just threw it off the park's cliffs.
To stay under the radar, the drill's not far from where we left the boat. I buried it in a container on the east side of the river close to that dock in Taraq. You'll find it under the electric pylon.
A list of cargo being transported via the Urzikstan railway by Al-Qatala. It claims to contain industrial mechanical parts, explosive chemicals, poppy seeds, and fertilizer. It seems to be front for illegal contraband smuggling where the northern railways allow AQ to distribute weapons and drugs to Europe and South Asia.
[In Arabic] 1. Meet the Mexicans at the port. 2. Get a good deal for C4 and Kastovs. (Use oil as leverage if needed) 3. Accompany them to the bunker entrance 4. Get inside and find the objective
It's not surprising that the Soviets were storing all sorts of data, like they always did, but it's hard to imagine how much space it takes to accommodate all the equipment in use. This place, the so-called Alpha Cluster, is so large that it feels like a mining farm filled with data tapes.
To make it more mysterious, some rooms in the Alpha Cluster have been on lock since the day we arrived. Maybe it's the Soviets who did this, but who knows? What secrets were they hiding behind those walls?
Perfectly Handwritten Note The work here is almost complete. We are working on the final stages. Seismic readings will help us pinpoint the location of the bunker...and they will all think we just wanted to destroy the train tracks. Fools. If you find this note, you know where I went.
Handwritten Note Suspicious individuals have been lurking around underground areas. KEEP THESE TUNNELS CLEAR! Not even local maintenance. Waterways are valuable routes and must remain locked down. Set up equipment for monitoring if needed, just do your damn jobs.
Information regarding the general geography and history of Ashika Island. A large amount of the documents are focused on the science center and many printed articles about the lab directors and their funding. There's old news stories of a mysterious disease spreading amongst the population of the island.
Research discussing the studies of and various treatments to Russian gas poisoning. There was a large surge in locals reporting similar symptoms: feeling burning in the lungs and extreme fatigue. It was concluded that the gas acts on the pulmonary capillaries and eventually restricts blood oxidation anywhere from mild to lethal levels. Patients were reported to not recover from exposure for multiple years. In the most extreme cases, civilians experience hypoxia-induced brain damage.
[In Russian] Once we're able to open up the target, our team needs to set security around the site's south side while evac teams extract the sensitive objective inside. Anticipate Shadow Company interference. There's no retreating from this critical objective.
Request Accepted JAN 09, 2020 Hello Terissa, I'm happy to inform you that your application to the Gym Club has been accepted. As a new member, you'll have access to all available programs, including our most popular Aikido courses. Enjoy! Fonda
Access Cards Professor, can we try to get more access cards for the whole team? Each time when we need something from those locked rooms, it's always frustrating to make official requests that usually takes forever.
Accident Report SEP 09, 2019 There was a blast in the Side Lab this morning, causing potential gas leaks. All the security doors automatically sealed, but some staff members are hurt. The wounded have been sent to the hospital for physical examination.
Complaint Letter AUG 30, 2019 The garage is too dark! I almost fell to the ground yesterday, and it's nearly impossible to find anything. I can't imagine what would happen if we keep it that way. -Anonymous
Printed Document Top Secret: Building 21 contents in this container are to be opened only by authorized personnel with the proper protection. Fragile: If contents are disturbed, containers could break. Chemicals are not to be mixed under any circumstances. Warning: Direct contact with contained substances should be done with extreme caution.
Elevators Steve, To use elevators in the facility, you need higher security permissions. I know it might be inconvenient to move around here sometimes, but the DRC is a highly classified place with restricted areas, and I hope you understand that this is mainly out of safety concerns. -Rebecca
Precision Equipment Handling MAR 19, 2020 Please make sure your crew takes extreme caution when handling the precision equipment. There's an accident caused by improper operation recently. We cannot afford any further loss.
OT Food Request Could we provide more food to employees who work overtime? Seems that we have a pretty nice restaurant, but it's closing way too early.
Shipment Ready NOV 05, 2020 This should be the last shipment to <redacted> this month. Make sure you have the right treatment and make deliveries ASAP.
Note from a Soldier This place looks like a living accommodation for military personnel, back at the time when it was functional. What were the Soviets doing down here, over 100 feet underground? Why do they need such a large number of soldiers?
Note from a Soldier It's been a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ since someone blew a hole in the ceiling, then water leaked in and flooded the entire area. God knows how toxic the water could be! Honestly, I'm willing to trade anything for a chance to get out of here.
Black Mous Intel Documents This folder holds classified documents containing computer records and transactions between Rohan Oil and Black Mous. One document lists coordinates that are most likely meeting spots or possibly dead drops. This highly sensitive information looks very much like it was not meant for public consumption.
I have used up many of the supplies on Ashika and will need more items as soon as you can. If things are going to proceed, I need the following: <list of chemicals and electronic equipment> Do not skip a single item. Place them in this secure box and lock it for the flight back. Use this cash for your purchases. Keep the rest.
K, we think we finally have found a substance worthy of your objective. The <REDACTED> gas has detrimental short-term effects on the lungs, inducing hypoxia within a minute of mild contact. The compound is able to be produced in mass quantities easily, so I'd like to act quickly. I suspect there's a possible antidote too, but I still need to pinpoint exactly the mechanism it acts on the hemoglobin. If it is of your convenience I would be happy to have you visit the DRC again and we'll setup a demonstration. I can say with confidence that you'll be impressed. - Michal
We've received the package and it is exactly as you promised. Our experiments have already begun and already we're seeing a 26% decrease in damage on the subjects protein structures and DNA. Unfortunately on the surface we haven't been able to prevent the burning but it's looking hopeful. Not that it's my place, but I'm worried this leads back to us, and ultimately back to my lab. I trust your judgement but those imbeciles don't know a thing about <REDACTED>. One slip up and the eyes of every nation will be on your group. - Michal
We hope the additional funds are enough for the new Core Lab. I know Michal you have been good with these things in the past but this is critically important. Urzikstan is already being overrun by the western groups and time is limited. AQ hasn't kept their end of the bargain well and I've had enough of dealing with their leadership. It's not better in the East either. Our old accident has alerted a certain Shadow Company and we must clean and leave no traces. I entrust that you know the stakes. - Konni
[In Russian] And so it is official. We will build the DRC based on the success of the DRD and its success in chemical weaponry. We must keep this highly confidential. Especially Building 21 and what we intend to do with it. -K
X97215 - B - TOP SECRET Mission Protocol - Search and Destroy Code Phrase - Alpha Delta Papa Charlie From: The Board To: Captain Silver Message Text: You are to infiltrate the space as quickly as you can. Quiet approach is preferred, but completion of the job is of highest importance. If you run into trouble, hold down your area and reinforcements will be sent in.
Scribbled Note I'm holed up in this tiny room and I can hear them all around me. I'm almost out of ammo and I think they know it. This might be my last message ever. Please, if anyone find this...please tell my wife and son I love them.
Journal Entry Subject: Western fighter Condition: Weakened from many hours of interrogation. Notes: Keep pressing him for information about western forces arriving at the warzone. Will need to move him soon.
Journal Entry Subject: Western fighter Condition: Remains weakened, but also vigilant. Notes: Fighter mentions something about an invasion. Unsure if he is delirious or speaking of something even bigger than a ground war. We need to move him again.
Scribbled Note Passing lies. They know nothing. Rumors of an oasis HQ to the north. I will be moved there soon. 0213
[In Russian] The ship is set to arrive at night from Vondel. It's not officially meant to dock so it'll instead anchor down near the airport where we'll be able to take the cargo off easily. Make sure that area is secured.
Logbook First meeting with the new seller went as well as can be expected. I think they can provide us what we want, but I am still not sure this arrangement doesn't come without problems. We've discussed the use of the north runway for deliveries. It will attract less attention until we fully control the airport. They are very familiar with small plane deliveries of sensitive cargo. We should move forward with a more formal meeting with the elders. Code: 7 9 8 1
Scrawled Note Las Almas offering more weapons than that tiny runway can handle. Damn it. Need to use Al Malik for deliveries. At least plenty of storage here. Move soldiers to the main terminal to make sure we are secure. Authorization: Rebel 19
Shipment Logbook Received first test shipment @ 0400 under cover of darkness. Worked well, but is not necessary. Shipment manifest accounted for. We can handle more weapons than this. Moving shipment to more secure location for further inspection.
Scrawled Note Shipment arrived safely, but I think some pieces went missing. Need to interrogate everyone involved in the transfer. The thief must be caught and punished. Need to move the shipment again, but quietly.
Talking Points for a Meeting -Relationship that will be of great benefit for both of us. -Find thief and deal with them swiftly -Increase deliveries ASAP (no need for night drops) -Discuss larger arms... the heavy stuff.
From S.C. Phantom 5-2: Day 3: We've been keeping watch of all incoming and outgoing shipments. Mostly cartel, Dutch and Russian ships. We've procured their manifests. Primarily explosives, weapons, money laundering, and narcotics. Day 4: Al-Qatala is taking the cartel up north. Again that damned bunker keeps being talked about. We're moving in to continue reconnaissance.
CARTEL RECON REPORT To: S.C. HQ From: S.C. Phantom 5-2 Day 1: Las Almas has just arrived at the Hafid Port from a cargo ship. They seem to be allied with AQ forces. They unloaded 20 large wooden boxes containing Kastovs. Al-Qatala handed over payment in the form of U.S dollars. Day 2: Our initial drones recorded word of Russian bunkers. They were talking about an entrance to it that dug straight into the Defense Research Division. Current working theory is that it's somehow connected to the DRC, but this bunker isn't on any of our intel.
[In Russian] We'll need to rendezvous with the cartel to transfer the gas. From there they'll take it to the target destination. For now let's designate the safe house as the meeting location. Discretion is of utmost importance. - V
Chemical Plant Not sure where that complaint is coming from. The power supply has not been fully restored in the Chemical Plant, and that's why the whole area is so dark. I'm fully aware of the inconvenience caused by this, but do they have any idea how much electricity is needed to operate a facility of this magnitude? All I'm asking is a bit of patience until the problem is handled. As a backup, all the units in the dark have been equipped with flashlights or NVGS.
The Key Someone left the key to Factory Admin on the floor of the Chemical Plant. Please come and retrieve it ASAP. -R
Find the Key Someone left the key to Factory Admin in the door again. I bet it must be George! That blockhead has done such things multiple times. Find the other key in the Chemical Plant. It must be somewhere around there. -K
Scrawled Reporter's Notes Radio chatter of some rogue AQ scientist in the area. Could this be the operative known as "The Chemist"?? ...rumor was he died in one of his experiments? Source X gave me the address for his lab, home...something. Need to investigate. Need to be careful.
Meticulously Written Journal Entry 1: They do not understand me. They do not understand what this can do. They think this is a game, but it is not. I am so close to understanding how it expands. How it spreads. I am going to ask for formal authorization to run my experiments. Entry 4: My inquiry was rejected. I need to take matters into my own hands. I am recruiting a group to help me. We will go into the radiation ourselves. I need to run some more tests in the old lab to make sure we are on the right track. Entry 5: Code: 1921BRN + 7SLN9 (make sure to wait 10 seconds)
Meticulously Written Journal Entry 10: Ambient air here is perfect for this test today. Administering micro dose again. Lack of available test subject is troubling. Need to consider other options. Entry 11: I have decided to administer the micro dose to myself. Exposure via micro dose is perfect for this. I may even be able to build up a temporary immunity. Further experiments are required.
Sloppy Journal Scrap Entry 15: Some of the others asked me to leave. How dare... <illegible>..when this close. <illegible> has been painful and...<illegible> ...going to have to consider going inside. Entry 16: <illegible> have given me some loyal followers and guards. They will be protecting my work in the <illegible>. I have some amazing news to report, but can't remain here. Need to move towards Al-Safwa Quarry.
Journal of a Mad Man Final Entry: <illegible> my completed first assessment of the anomaly in its entirety. <illegible> and I will be moving out soon directly into the beast for an all-new experiment. So far, every attempt to contain the anomaly has failed and lead to death. Furthermore, <illegible> and I don't expect to come back, so I am leaving these notes behind for someone else to find. I have also sent a duplicate copy on a thumb drive to the appropriate person. Remember MoD3S - 77 Wish me luck. I go to <illegible>
Printed Document Target <redacted> has arrived in the AO at <redacted>. Agent <redacted> activated for covert Operation <redacted>. Observe, record, report, then execute. Leave your notes behind for Agent <redacted> who will be shadowin you at a distance. Use code 17912SB for full mission details. This is not a drill. <Fuzzy picture of target redacted>
Handwritten Note Entry 1: Observing Al Mazrah from long range. Target arrival confirmed. Target observed moving through Taraq, so this location no longer viable. Going to explore the Pass for any clues. Entry 2: Explored Al Sharim Pass. This is definitely an AQ hideout. Need to... <writing looks interrupted> Position compromised. Moving West to link up with target again.
Scribbled Notes Entry 5: Tracked target to Sa'id shopping center. Using security cameras to acquire visual and audio recordings. Confirmed meeting at the restaurant on the waterfront with <redacted>. Moving to overlook. Will engage targets.
Scribbled Notes Entry 7: Both targets spotted at restaurant. Swirling winds off the water caused me to miss my shot. Waiting... They are headed this way. Leaving some of my gear behind so I can move faster. Going to make a break for the safe house 3. Engaging Evacuation Protocol 27.
Scribbled Notes Entry 8: Arrived at safe house, but think I was followed. Need to lay low here for a couple of days. Shutting down all electronics so I can't be tracked. If you find this, I am probably already compromised and captured and Protocol 27 has failed.
These documents don't reveal much. There is official documentation of Crown's legitimacy as a business and organization within the UK. There are trade reports of their involvement with various international entities, with a high concentration in Europe, Africa, and East Asia. Their listed work and employment seems thoroughly detailed though there's a surprising amount of revenue and cash flow for the work they do.

Data Center Attack SEP 26, 2019 Hi all, There are multiple new security employees that are not on any approved/vetted list, yet they're getting priority clearance without looping us in. All DRC employees MUST be cleared by IT before accessing restricted areas. With the unusual amount of attack to the servers lately, security is our top priority. If you have any problems, do not hesitate to reach out to the security team for support. -DRC Security
Facility Access Card Policy SEP 30, 2019 Hi all, Our team has received several reports on missing access cards this month. Here's a reminder that no access card should be brought out of the facility or borrowed to others according to our policies. All access cards are important assets of the DRC, and anyone who lost one will have to file a report to explain what happened. -DRC Security
Security Locks Upgrade JAN 04, 2020 Team, I'm sure some of you have heard about the new LPCON - ECHO... We've been asked to take certain measures given the new security protocol: - Today we've completed a sensor upgrade to all the doors among High Security Areas. As a result, no personnel would be able to enter those restricted areas without granted permissions. - In the event of an LPCon Echo, all system files will be erased. Please keep this to yourselves, as we don't want employees making personal copies of any files. If anyone has any questions/concerns, my door is always open. Thanks, -DRC Security
I don't know who it was, they weren't AQ, they sounded like they were speaking Russian. And the equipment they were using I know I haven't seen anything like that. I received the package from the drop off point in the sunken village. I was driving the package through Sarrif Bay and no the AQ guards didn't seem suspicious of me. Nearing the bridge to Ahkdar shots were fired rapidly at my car. They didn't stop even when I announced that I was a civilian. I got away leaving the car and package behind. I ran back to Sarrif Bay and met the AQ members who heard the shots. By the time they ran over to the attack site the shooters were gone and the car was destroyed, package included.
Now that we've gathered all the data we can, our job is to move all sensitive data to secure hard drives to transport to HQ immediately. Remember shadows, Konni's going to watching us to blast a hole through any transport exiting this compound. Use the tunnels underneath the DRC to load up the armored truck at Building 1. Good luck out there. - Graves
Reinforcement Sent Reports have been filed on disturbances that happened in the Factory Wing occasionally. We've got reasonable suspicion of smuggling, or some sort of resistance organized by locals. A group of reinforcements, led by two expert commanders, has been dispatched to the Factory Wing. The Rhinoceros, one of the aces in close-quarters combat, used to be the bodyguard of a senior officer for years. The Sniper, a silent killer, can instantly take down targets from miles away. With these guys guarding the area, the Weapon Case stored there should be safe.
Operation W The objective is to protect the assets in the Factory Wing Secure Room. Be prepared for armed resistance you may encounter. Remove all threats if necessary. A response team will follow your lead. The Sniper will provide fire support. Call reinforcement if things go south.
Operation W Get into the hideout on the high ground. Spotter and ammunition are all set. Eliminate any target entering the Factory Wing. Use emergency access as the escape route once your position is exposed.
Documents discussing AQ's involvement in the Ashika and Al Mazrah cargo ships and how they were used for trafficking drugs to the cartel and throughout East Asia.
The animals seem to have ingested some dangerous poison, though the exact nature of it is unknown. More research will need to be done here.
Handwritten Note Family, It's time to leave. Al Qatala forces are moving in so fast that I fear for our lives. I fear we are on the verge of all being told to evacuate anyway so let's get ahead of this. I will be heading out immediately to gather my belonging at meet at the place we said we would if it ever came to this. I've left some stuff around here. Please take what you need and get moving. -Fahad
Handwritten Note Rajah, My family is leaving here as soon as we can. I am not sure when we will return, if ever. I've gathered my belongings and left some other items behind. If there's anything you want, please feel free to take it and make sure you lock the shop up tight when you go. Travel safely. Hope to see you again some day. -Fahad
Handwritten Note Hasina, They are telling us to leave now. My father said he's not going to wait, so I don't know what to do. I want to see you again. I want you to come with me. I wish you would answer your phone and I hope you are ok. We are all meeting at the shop I told you about. Please, if you see this come as soon as you can. Grab anything in the apartment. You might need it. -Dabir
Quickly Scrawled Written Note Dabir, I came as quickly as I could. My phone died and I can't get back into downtown Al Mazrah without being detained. I thought you might head here, but clearly you haven't been here in some time. I'm going to try to make it to the East. I'm going to stay off the roads as much as I can. I hope to see you soon. -Hasina
Handwritten Note Hasina, we waited as long as we could. I am so sorry. Our escort is here and they are already threatening to leave. I have left supplies around the shop. They are all for you. Be safe and I hope you and Dabir can meet up again some day. No one expected this day would come so soon. To anyone else who finds this, please take whatever you find in my shop if you need it to survive. We all much stick together...
Handwritten Observations -Patient, waits for opponents -51 can't stay low, watch for peeking -32 slow on corners -City's new goons at police station, maybe authoritarian orientation day -Jackboot "peacekeepers" now inspecting exterior fire station -Heavy presence at train station. Lockdown incoming?
Handwritten Note There is a valuable chemical that i have hidden on Vondel. If someone finds this note i need then to go and retrieve it. Look for the spot that includes many twists and turns.
Handwritten Letter By the time you're reading this, I'm already gone. There's too much heat in this city. Whatever they've got these peacekeepers doing here, too many showed up on-site during the job, I had to drop the briefcase. I swear they had eyes on me as I moved through the tunnels, too. Can't trust any of my usual routes now, it's all compromised. I'm getting out while I can and you should too. See you on the other side.
Journal Entry As I sit and ponder the recent events, I can't help but think the soldiers have awoken something in the island. The masks literally feel off the wall yesterday and fell into my bag. I think the island spirits are trying to tell me it's time to leave and they want me to help them. A thick fog has rolled in over the last few days and strange ships have arrived to take some of us off the island. I think I am going take the masks with me. -Ichika
Journal Entry Something has attacked the ships and we are now drifting back to the island and slowly sinking. The groaning noises from the ship's hull sound like a monster...or maybe it IS a monster. The island won't let us leave. I'm pondering jumping in the water with the masks in my bag...yes, that IS what I am doing. The masks are compelling me to make a swim for it. Here we go... -Ichika
Laminated Paper The Three Sacred Masks of Ashika Found in an old wooden box uncovered on castle grounds after an earthquake in 1855. Their origins are unknown. Mask 1: Askika Kitsune Original Mask 2: Ashika Tengu Original Mask 3: Ashika Mask of Riddles
Handwritten Note The Vondel Lions are a pride, I don't have to tell you all that. We have pride in our city, and the city takes pride in us. And even though the skies have seemed a little darker lately, with armored ghouls haunting the streets, we can be a bright spot for the people. Some were asking me if we'd even be allowed to set up the field, and you know what I said? Try to stop us. This is OUR HOUSE! Lock the doors and we'll climb the walls! If they want to stop the match, they'll have to pull us off the field! We will play, we will WIN, and we will remind this city how much they have to be proud of. WE'RE THE LIONS! LET'S BE VONDEL'S PRIDE!
We killed the hired courier to deliver this confidential message. Our leaders are interested in working for the Konni Group, but I know what happens to those poor bastards. We're gonna give them what they want. First step is to masquerade as Konni. My squadron tracked a civilian taking a laptop from a dead drop, delivering it to the Ashika Island Hotel. We found him dead a day later and I have no doubt as to who's handiwork it was. Locate Konni Laptop and dead drop it here. Dead drop a Building 21 keycard here as well. -Your trusted legionary
Journal of an Officer Entry 1: JUNE 19, 2019 Voice record of a security officer. ...Please read your DRC Employee Handbook to learn about our Lab Protection Conditions (LPCON). LPCON is a system of recommended preventive actions and responses to hostile adversaries... ...It sets the LPCON level at Normal, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta. Higher LPCON levels will be applied when an increased or more predictable threat exists in the facility...
Journal of an Officer Entry 2: AUG 01, 2019 Introduced the LPCON levels in the facility to all new employees during the security training program. We get a lot of former-military types here, but something's different about these fellas. Look and talk like SF? Found it concerning they wouldn't take the LPCON levels seriously. They thought the DRC is well protected, and there's no such thing as a real threat. I really hope they were right.
Journal of an Officer Entry 3: DEC 29, 2019 LPCON ECHO IS REAL. I would never believe this if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Beyond LPCON Delta, they are prepared to kill EVERYONE if things go bad. Even I...cannot escape. Everything makes sense now. No wonder the Armory Room is always locked and guarded by the security crew. The rumor that large amounts of lethal weapons are stored there must be true.
Journal of an Officer Entry 4: FEB 06, 2020 Need to prepare for emergencies. Right now. Move fast. No chance to escape if LPCON ECHO is really applied. The whole facility will be locked, with gas spreading everywhere. The reaction team could easily eliminate anyone who's exposed. Remember to stay low. It's safe to use elevators. They would be running on backup power. Gas Masks should be there.
Journal of an Officer Entry 5: [RECORD DELETED]
Instructions We have some important information we need relayed but our upload was interrupted. Go to an upload station at the top of a radio tower and resume the upload for us. - Laswell
We've negotiated with them for a better price for the Kastovs, but I'm getting worried about their interest in the drugs and the oil. They seem like they know too much about our trade and I suspect they are keeping their hands close. None the matter, they offer what we need so the deal is beneficial. I just ask for you to stay on guard around them. -Your Commander
Handwritten Letter My eternal flame of love, I miss you terribly every moment we're apart. It's tragic that we must play such critical, yet separate roles in this time of need. But the people depend on us, and we must both be heroes in our own way. No matter what happens to me or this city, I will always take care of you. Never forget that you hold the key to my heart... and my briefcase. XOXO
Waterlogged Note Oh so you found where I tossed your share. I can't believe you would take me to this horrible, creepy island for our anniversary. Vam so done with your crap. I'm taking what's mine and a little extra for my trouble. Don't try to follow me!!
A Printed Document Operator X, Deep Dive is approaching its final preparations. This briefcase contains data that may be helpful once inside. You know what the key is for. As discussed, you will need to move in ahead of the General. He is impatient and wants this to look like it was all his doing. Make me proud and you will be rewarded. -Lt. Mahdi
Handwritten Note Found this key on the ground in the sewers. Lots of people marching through here these days so probably theirs. But first make sure it doesn't belong to something of ours, maintenance dept can't go through that embarrassing situation again. Purchasing dept would never let it go.
Printed Document ATTENTION: I've been informed that city access is being restricted, and as such, today's passing cruise will be the last one for the foreseeable future. While this is unfortunate, clearly the specialists brought in to handle the situation have deemed this necessary. We will discuss more details in a meeting at eleven and be answering any questions. - Management
Documents containing studies and reports of various radiation poisoning cases. Arabic notes are scribbled across many of the pages. Some pages are from studies from the DRC. Some pages are clearly poor translations. Many are of attempts to block or even cure the effects of high-exposure radiation poisoning.
Medical Journal Entry 1: MAR 04, 2020 ..Since the accident on Floor 3 this morning, patients have experienced symptoms including: loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and even seizures and coma. One of the security guards is still in critical condition. We had to sedate him after he started screaming at us in Russian. Will have to add delirium to the list of symptoms... I've never seen anything like this before.
Medical Journal Entry 2: MAR 11, 2020 To be honest, we don't have the necessary medical support for those patients. The only thing we can do is easing their pain. However, we are not allowed to transfer them to the ER nearby. Only medical and security employees have access to the ICU. Guards are all over. By the way, just out of nowhere, some of the patient's reports are missing somehow.
Medical Journal Entry 3: APR 04, 2020 Some members of our medical team have expressed further concerns about the long-term effects of radiation exposure. What if another accident like that happens to us? What if it was not an accident? Well, department leads ask us not to investigate it. Not even talk about it. I can't do this any longer.
[In Russian] I've got eyes on some weapons that will be able to blast open the objective with plausible deniability. We'll need security on those observatory tunnel entrances. Get forces ready to reinforce the area if they get a signal.
Printed Document TOP SECRET The water treatment system is to be shut off completely over the next few days. Please do NOT under any circumstances tell any of the villagers. Act like business is as usual. Please destroy this message after you have read it.
Printed Document TOP SECRET Very soon we are going to bring our cargo ships in. Make sure that no unauthorized ships arrive at the island for any reason. If a local ship captain becomes insistent, tell him to contact me directly and I will handle it.
Printed Document TOP SECRET The shipment from the DRC should be arriving today. When it does, send boats out to escort them in and get that cargo loaded carefully onto a truck headed up the hill. Tell your men to drop everything and make sure it arrives at the castle as soon as possible. I want you to personally escort it the whole way. This is your number one priority.
Handwritten Note To My Favorite Dog-Sitter: The new city peacekeeping force or whatever came knocking on my door recently to ask questions about the zoo, and apparently someone broke in soon after, probably just punk kids. So just a heads up, they might come back while you're there to follow up. Not a big deal, tell them I'm out of town. Thanks again for helping out!
Emergency Response In case of emergency, all access to the outside will be blocked, except for the elevators run by our allies on the ground. Read the following instructions for details: - Call the elevator by pushing the button on the wall. - Wait for a few seconds. The elevator should arrive shortly. - Step inside and operate on the control panel. Be aware that the elevator has been programmed to leave automatically if there's no response.
Radiation Lab All personnel must wear gas masks inside radiation labs. Do not operate the buttons to control the airtight doors during experiments. In case of a gas leak, use the valve handle at the door to force close the door.
External Communication For security reasons, private contact with the outside is prohibited. All communication devices are managed in the comms room at External Ops. File an application if you do have a need for external communication. Approval of superiors is required.
Access Permission No personnel shall make unauthorized entry into the Information Extraction. Nor shall any person remain there without authorization after working hours.
Factory Admin When in short of living supplies, apply for more and receive them at Factory Admin. Factory Admin is located to the north of the Chemical Plant. No supply of anything that may cause addiction, e.g., cigarettes, alcohol, and hypnotics.
Hello, I now write to you since I know you have a way of getting things done. And I have a problem where I need things done. Suffice to say Al-Qatala has not been receptive of my proposal and they have broken our agreement to sell to the cartels. Here's the deal. Take the pipeline back. That mean's the oilfields, the caves, and the port. SC gets 15%.
Power Supply Due to the lack of power supply, the blast doors to the Chemical Plant can only be forced to open from the outside. However, we're not allowed to leave these doors open during operations, making it a pain in the rear for my guys to do their job. If we can find a car battery and jumper cables to power up and activate the blast doors, it will save us a lot of trouble.
Printed Document Social media analysis of citizen response to the peacekeepers concludes: -Ninety percent of reactions are negative, with core themes being fear, oppression, confusion, and invasion. These are, of course, overreactions, but a notable percentage. -Three percent actually feel safer, putting trust in our city leadership calling in such a specialized team to handle the situation, with themes of trust, precaution, and appreciation. -Less than one percent are the usual conspiracy theories -Less that one percent are online "memes" often criticizing the fashion sense of the peacekeepers, or depicting them enjoying the city's many tourist attractions. The latter may actually help soften the public perception! Overall messaging from citizens does indicate one trend quite clearly: The people are looking for answers. We will not be able to simply hand-wave the justification for such measures much longer. If we must continue to withhold any and all information regarding the chemical threats, we must make a clear and decisive course of action to legitimize the situation in the public perception. This could be a lockdown, or evacuation, or any recommendations from our new advisors. We need to move on from the secretive, passive appearance from leadership. People love when leaders GET THINGS DONE! This is supported by the polling data found on page 15.
Yes we got a decent supply of C4 and plastic explosives from the Russians. Kastovs too. The job they requested of us was odd but nothing incredibly strange. But who cares that much about an old bunker? I can't say I trust them but they provide so we will take.
Note From Sailor to Captain Captain, we found this in his bunk. The journal was damaged, but I transcribed what I could make out... "This boat. This sea. I may never come back. Once upon a time, two of us ate SEVEN whole loaves of bread and called it good. ...why does that banging never stop? I think the captain wants me, Samum, locked up. I should make sure he doesn't find these notes. They know it was me who started the fire. I can hear them coming down the hall. They think they have me trapped. I may need to jump overboard...and off to Taraq."
Scrawling of a Mad Man Friends...I think this explosion may rock the region. Now how do I get this on TV? Downtown Al Mazrah has a station. Perhaps I should give it a visit? -Samum
Printed Out Office Memo To the staff... We received a disturbing phone call that the infamous "Samum" is on his way over to our station. I expect you will want to either leave early or lock yourself in after reading this memo. We expect to continue to report the news as long as we can. Extra security has been assigned to the lobby. Please stay safe.
Hastily Written Note The news station was a waste of time. Make sure the ingredients are correct and they will have no choice to cover this story. Wait for my signal. -Samum
Hastily Written Note If you are reading this, the deed is done. Tank #1 burns, but I don't think I'm done yet. It's time to retreat into the tunnels where they won't find us. I forced a worker to reprogram the access code. The code is in my original notes...that I lost back on that ship. -Samum
Quarry Operations Folder The folder contains documents detailing various operations, incoming and outgoing shipments, employees, customers, and government contracts. The documents also contain time stamps of shipments received unusually late at night, indicating shipments being moved under cover of darkness.
Defense Research Division A large amount of radiation was detected when we first discovered this area. During the investigation, we found multiple radioactive nuclear materials, hidden in several locations. This lab, formally known as the Defense Research Division, was run by the Soviet military. It's most likely that the nuclear materials were left here by them when they evacuated from here for some reason.
Radiation Hazard These high-risk areas remain dangerous, as my hazmat crew is still cleaning up the site. It's not clear what purpose the Soviet's research had, so proceed with caution during any of your operations.
Protection Required Sam, I strongly recommend your staff to be equipped with gas masks or radiation blockers. This old facility has fallen into disrepair. When the radiation comes in from Al Mazrah, no one would be able to escape from it without proper protection. -G
Research Journal Entry 1: OCT 19, 2019 This is my first day at the DRC. I can't be more excited to work as a Biochemistry specialist. The colleagues here are all top-tier scientists in this field. It's a bit strange though - security here is more strict than other places. As soon as I entered the facility, security took my cellphone and other communication equipment for safety reasons. Network connection is highly restricted in the facility. It felt like working for the military instead of a Lab. But anyways I must go through a series of training exercises designed for new employees. Hopefully I can get my hands on laboratory equipment soon.
Research Journal Entry 2: JAN 30, 2020 The experiments here are quite suspicious. I took a glance at the research journals the other day, and found these records... "Subject 2-51 become unconscious after taking the 3rd dose within 24 hours. Subject still in coma. Estimated to be incapacitated for another 6-8 hours. Subject 2-51 gone. This is beyond maximum tolerance." Are they testing on animals or humans? Is this why they have such a huge hospital in this building?
Research Journal Entry 3: MAR 05, 2020 There was an accident on the third-floor last week. Rumor says it caused gas leak around that area, and quite a few people were sent to the ICU. I talked with the victims. It turns out that the DRC has been shipping some of our test substance to Verdansk- and our security team is aware of the whole thing. Rumor is the DRC has military ties. We're supposed to be working on deterrents of war, not weapons of it. Why are they doing this?
Research Journal Entry 4: MARCH 21, 2020 The DRC facility is completely cut off in connection with the outside world. We are not allowed to contact family or friends while we are here. We are not allowed to leave the facility either. Security has become more aggressive with us. We see them moving weapons, vehicles - armored ones like the Army have. It's like they know something's coming and they're abandoning ship. Maybe they are military... Army? Contractors? At least that would make more sense. But if something has them spooked, that doesn't bode well for the rest of us.
Research Journal Entry 5: [RECORD DELETED]
Researcher's Journal Entry 1: I was recommended to the Defense Research Division about a year ago, specializing in chemical toxicology. With a group of fellow scientists, I study the adverse effects of chemical substances on living organisms. However, I don't quite understand what substance we've been experimenting on lately. There is no other molecular structure in toxics that is anything like this. Not only is it highly toxic, but it also produces a high degree of radiation. If it enters the human body through the respiratory system, it may cause a respiratory arrest or even suffocation in a very short time.
Researcher's Journal Entry 2: I'd be lying if I said working at a research institute hidden in an underground bunker doesn't feel strange at all. The regulations here are extremely strict. Doors are on lock most of the time. Soldiers can be seen everywhere, guarding the entire facility. Contact with the outside can only be made through the External Ops.
Researcher's Journal Entry 3: Overheard a conversation between two soldiers when I was delivering test samples requested at the last minute. It was about those outsiders. Normally, we only work inside the labs. It's the outsiders' job to do the dirty work such as transporting chemicals, and the maintenance of the Chemical Plant. They turned out to be prisoners interrogated by agents from the Information Extraction. They are forced to work long hours, without any protection. No wonder they always look so heartless and indifferent. Such treatment is undeniably cruel, if not inhuman.
Researcher's Journal Entry 4: Today we were told that all personnel must be evacuated by the end of this month. No explanation. We were ordered to stop all ongoing experiments, shut down all instruments, and destroy all stored data. "This place doesn't exist," they said, "You've never been here."
Researcher's Journal Entry 5: Rumor has it that a scientist named Sergei was locked up for quite a few days for his protest against the recent decision to close the labs and cancel all the programs. I heard he's a very experienced researcher, and a very brave man. Hope he's okay, but honestly there's nothing I can do about it.
Printed Document Hey Doc, I know you aren't in here much these days but I wanted to let you know that someone broke into your room. Looked like an attempted robbery, but nothing was taken or messed up... Guess we're lucky so much is off-site! Maybe just don't come by after dark. The animals will need you when they come back!
Entry 1 My name is Sergei. This is my story. I started my career at the Laboratory of Electrical Systems, under the direction of the Academy of Science. Back at the time, ideological limitations were loosened and a new hope for cybernetics has just been built. As a young mathematician working on complex analysis and differential equations, I devoted myself to the cause of numerical computation. I could never imagine that one day, my life would be completely changed by intelligent systems.
Entry 2 Together with a group of scientists and engineers, I was sent to this bunker to conduct a secret program. Not until we arrived did we realize that the job was to develop the most advanced computer in the USSR and in the world. This machine would be powered by a new intelligent system, taking advantage of algorithms the world had never heard of. Unlike Kaissa, the chess-playing program, it could perform larger-scale computation and handle more complex tasks. As the operation of this system would generate a huge amount of data, countless computing and storage units were built inside Alpha Cluster.
Entry 3 We've got promising results from the development of the supercomputer. It has way higher performance than the previous model, but occupies 6 times less area, and consumes 8 times less electricity power. With the help of the newly designed intelligent system, it can assist in computation with unprecedented efficiency. It can be applied to a variety of disciplines, such as rocket science and aerospace industry. Since it's so advanced, compared to its predecessors, we decided to name it M-550.
Entry 4 The government has decided to abandon the development of original computer designs, including our program. The laboratory will be permanently closed in the near future. I don't think they understand the value of our research. With the M-550, we could easily catch up with the West in the race of computation technology. It could have changed the world!
Entry 5 After protests against the decision have failed, I have to find another way. I saved a copy of the algorithm that was ordered to be deleted, and stored the data in a safe place. I scrabbled on the walls with radiation, leaving marks that lead to the safe room. If someone could ever discover them, hopefully they may unravel the secrets, and let M-550 live again. This is the least I can do.
Entry 6 [RECORD DELETED]
Here's the updated deal. All of Al Mazrah for 25% of the value of the oil. Accounting for say, 2.500 shadows, that's brings us to still hundreds of thousands of dollars per day in operational profits. Of course that will take time so we negotiated a deal. We receive an initial payment of $500,000 for the funding of our new base outside Al Mazrah. Then we work on just the core locations for the pipeline for only 5% with another 5% for paying off that initial payment. After the rest is under control then it goes from 15% increasing with interest until 25% after 3 years.
Documents regarding the financial records of Shadow Company and their many front companies in different countries. A large part of the documents record the various agents working for Shadow Company though all personal information has been redacted. It is clear that Shadow Company has been operating at a deficit for around a year taking on multiple liabilities and debts.
Hey Charlie, I'm just gonna handwrite this old school style cause we both know how the superiors would react. We're indeed taking a plane to the FOB and we're gonna want the LZ to be cleared ahead of time. You just secure the area so we can land safely. The last thing I want is a firefight with AQ around a bunch of fuel-filled birds.
Printed Document Make sure this shipment gets to <redacted> ASAP. It contains highly valuable materials and they do not take failure well. We expect utmost secrecy on this job, so keep off radios and no unscheduled stops.
Rohan Oil Shipping Manifest A binder full of pages and pages of Rohan Oil shipping notes. Most of the pages have numerous crossed out items. Some line items are written so poorly it's as if someone didn't want them to be legible.
Handwritten Note Hope you enjoyed your trip to the museum. Find enclosed the payment for my 'souvenir' as discussed. As always, a pleasure working with you.
Smuggling Records This binder holds meticulously kept records of incoming and outgoing shipments of chemicals, oil, opioids, narcotics, and weapons. The records appear to indicate a recent dramatic increase in incoming weapon deliveries to the region.
SNIPER TEAM NOTE This is S.C. Phantom 5-1. We've been found out and we're taking fire from the cartel. 5-2 is KIA, and I'm probably next. We tracked the cartel to the entrances of the bunker they were looking for. There's 3 of them. One's under the railroad in the oilfields. There's another they're trying to open up under the bridge going between Taraq Village and AM City. The last one's in the nearby underground parking garage. I hear them coming up the stairs. It's goodbye from me. If you ever find this, thanks for never sending that evac you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Note from a Soldier I heard of a guy called the Shopkeeper, who has access to resources from the outside. He's a bit strange though. You can get your hands on the premium goods only if you give him something he wants first. Some say he's not a real person. No one knows about his identity. No one has ever seen his face.
Crumpled Napkin oooooooooh oooh oooh oooooh ooooooh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah ooooh ooooh yeah oooooooooh alley cat
Handwritten Note The paintball setup stays up. Strict orders to leave everything as intact as possible. Don't let them forget this was a thriving city until we got here. Force them to face it.
Printed Letter All paintball participants, There was some concern about upcoming matches due to recent events, but we have been in contact with city officials and received the all-clear to continue according to schedule. They feel there is no reason to withhold the excitement and entertainment from the fans. We couldn't be happier and will be commencing setup immediately! - Stadium Scheduling & Coordination Team
Researcher's Memo Item 23b was stolen from the archive sometime in the last few weeks. This was clearly an elaborate operation as various security system were disabled in order to pull off this heist. The only clue so far has been a brochure to a lighthouse that is NOT a part of anything here at Al Bagra. Please be on the look out for anything else that might help lead to the location of 23b. -Antiquities Inventory Team
Handwritten Ransom Note I have your precious antiquity. Pay me what it's worth or it leaves the country. Meet me on the bridge. The captain will mediate our negotiation.
Captain's Log - Recent Entry The treasure is being stored below deck, but one of the workers stole the only key to the box and ran off. He was dressed in some sort of postal uniform. Now the ship is under attack, and I can only hope we can get to open water before they damage the hull. What a mess this treasure has brought upon us.
Handwritten Note I am being followed. The key here is for what you think it's for. I just hope the ship hasn't left yet. If I don't make it, good luck and be safe. -J
Laminated Sheet of Paper Item 23b - Golden Skull of Al Bagra Minor Thought to contain magical powers. This skull is made of gold and, while it looks like so many other Golden Skulls, there appears to be some glyphs along the outside that make it unique and especially valuable. The meaning of the glyphs is unknown and still being investigated.
Stronghold Intel Documents This folder is full of Al-Qatala documents containing names of guards, records of supply deliveries, and communication details. The list of guards indicates transfers and desertions. Some name are crossed out, likely indicating guards that were KIA. The supply deliveries show that the Strongholds are being used to temporarily store valuable munitions before they are distributed to troops across Al Mazrah. The communication details seem to be written in some sort of coded shorthand.
Al-Qatala System Architecture Documentation The documents contained in this folder detail the architecture for the utilities, security, and communications of Al-Qatala computer systems. The pages look like they were printed by someone in a hurry as some have smeared printer ink and most are crumpled as if they were jammed into the folder in a panic.
Cue Card Talking Points: - Special advisement is Evacuate City - Citizens asked to leave voluntarily - Assistance for those who need - No reason to panic (say this first)
Torn Handwritten Note --nd once you have acquired the 'souvenir', simply bring it back to the stables for drop-off. Your payment will be waiting for you there.
I've looked over the cases of the Russian gas inhalation. It seems the Russian gas that was first used on that Japanese island has an even more potent form. Or at least some other substance acts as a catalyst to the gas increasing the potential injury it causes and causing the gas to attack the lungs in much shorter time spans. The animals that somehow ingested the dissolved gas were harmed much more than my calculations predict. And I have a hunch as to what the catalyst is.
Official Note Chief, We've locked up as many weapons as we could find in the main locker room. I have the key, but I know it's not the only one. Some of the officers have standard issue keys to the room. I've locked each locker as well. Let's hope these weapons don't fall into the wrong hands. - Officer K.
Handwritten Note Weapon inventory has revealed some weapons missing from this lockup. Additional weapons have been moved to Sawah Village. I left a key to the lockers here. Please take what you need but save some for others. Defend this location at all costs. -Kamal
Handwritten Note The last of our weapons remain here. We need to hold out as long as we can. Let us hope that the water levels do not rise and flood this room. Be well and good luck. -Kamal
White Lotus Intel Documents The folder holds documents containing information on active and inactive members of the White Lotus faction. Some of the names are grouped up, possibly to show agents who work well together or perhaps who have similar specialties. A number of the groups have code names.
Handwritten Note Itsu, I don't trust these new soldier people. They don't listen to me when I tell them this place is haunted. I warn them about the island spirits, but they dishonor them every chance they get. It's time to fight back. Oh, and I left you some extra rice I had. My wife always makes too much. Jiro
Handwritten Note If you are reading this from the fridge in the water, it is probably already too late. Let it be known that we planned to dumped this as a last ditch effort to avoid detection. The soldier people cannot know we are about to fight back. I feel silly even leaving this note, but I want the world to know one day what happened here. - Jiro
Handwritten Note Jiro, I've hid the weapons in here like you asked. If you are reading this, I am sure the fight has begun, my friend. We will retake the castle and the island if it's the last thing we do. Good luck! If this is not Jiro, then the fight is probably already lost. Please take these weapons and use them. Fight back. Take back Ashika! -Itsu
Scrawled Note Things have gotten so much worse. It's time to leave before they capture more of us. I don't even know where they took some of the villagers who were up the hill last night banging on the gates. If you find this, I'm already heading to the boat leaving this morning. Just drop your tools and join me. -Hanako

Warzone 2 DMZ: How To Finish The Zero Tolerance Faction Mission

Verdansk returning is the right call, but call of duty: warzone has to tread carefully, call of duty: warzone cheaters are using xbox game pass to their advantage, quick links, researchers dilemma objectives, access the animal care room, finding the false notes.

The Researcher's Dilemma mission in Call of Duty's DMZ mode will send players traveling across Vondel to steal some research documents and replace them with a falsified copy. Players will have to first gain access to the Veterinary Office at the Vondel Zoo and find the researcher's notes before making the sabotage switch and completing this Black Mous faction mission.

Warzone 2 Gunfight

Warzone 2 DMZ's Zero Tolerance mission is all the stands between players and the second tier of jobs that the new Redacted faction has to offer.

The Researcher's Dilemma mission has three main tasks players must complete in a single mission as they fight from the zoo in Vondel to the castle in the Northwest corner. Players will be required to find the research notes located at the zoo, deliver them to a church near the castle, and return with a fake set of notes and plant them in the veterinary office in place of the original document. To complete Researcher's Dilemma, players will have to complete the following objectives:

  • Find the researcher's notes in the Vondel Zoo veterinary office.
  • Place the researcher's notes on the 2nd floor of the church near the castle in the same deployment.
  • Take the false notes from the church and place them in the veterinary's office in the same deployment .

Before tackling this mission players will first need to get their hands on the correct unlock key. Players will need a key to the Veterinarian Office or a Skeleton Key to get access to the Animal Care Room where the Vondel Gas Research Notes are stored. If players do not have a key in storage to bring into the game with them, there is a good chance of finding the key if players can acquire a supply drop at the zoo . If not, players will have to run deployments completing objectives and contracts until a key is found and exfil and redeploy with the key in hand. There is also a good chance the building the Animal Care Room is in will spawn as a stronghold, so be prepared and equip a stronghold keycard when setting a loadout.

dmz - researchers dilemma - animal care

Once players have the Veterinary Office or Skeleton key, head to the Zoo at Vondel . The vet's office is located in the building in the far Southwest corner of the Zoo, on the first floor . Open the Animal Care Room with one of the proper keys and search the counters to the left to find the Vondel Gas Research Notes next to some blue-lidded test tubes.

dmz - researchers dilemma - church map

With the research notes acquired, head to the castle in the top left corner of the map . Players will want to look for a church located just south of the castle complex.

dmz - researchers dilemma - church

Climb inside using the boxes to get through the broken window and l ook for the ladder to the second floor . The second floor will be small, with only one room. In the corner diagonally across from the ladder to the first floor players will find the False Research Notes .

dmz - researchers dilemma - church -1

Place the Vondel Gas Research Notes on the ground by interacting with any of the open areas on the ground of the second floor, pick up the False Research Notes , and prepare for the voyage back to the Vondel Zoo. Deliver the false notes to the veterinary office in the exact location where the research notes were initially acquired . Once players deliver the false notes the mission will complete.

Building 21 Note Locations

Been collecting notes in Building 21. Made some good progress but I'm scratching my head on where to find the rest.

The notes so far and their locations:

-B21 Acceptance Letter: Gym on the second floor, usually in one of the locker rooms . -B21 Access Cards: In the Office Storage room next to the Archives -B21 Accident Report: Has a chance to spawn in the Archives Room -B21 Complaint Letter: Also in the gymnasium, locker room, sometimes directly near the acceptance letter. -B21 Elevators: Spawns in place of one of the notes in the gym. Seems to replace the acceptance letter. -B21 Equipment Letter: Inside the Green Access room that's in the 1st floor garage. It is not in the other two green access areas in the adjacent room. -B21 OT Food Request: On the kitchen counter of the cafeteria -B21 Shipment Details: In the back of a cargo truck, 1st floor. The truck is next to the elevator that sits in the middle of the garage. -Building 21 Intel 1, 2 & 3: These are for the Crown tier 5 mission "Outsourcing". They are located in the Black, Blue and Red Access rooms. -DRC Security 1, 2 & 3: Typically located in the Archives Room or Office Storage room right next to it. -Medical Journals 1, 2 & 3: In the hospital wing on the 3rd floor. Spawns might be random, but one typically appears in front of the exfil elevator. -Research Journal 1 through 5: Three of these journals like to spawn in the four rooms next to the Central Lab on the third floor. Which journal numbers you get seem to be random.

Journal of an Officer 1: On a counter in the Armory Room. Journal of an Officer 2: Has a low chance of also spawning in the Armory Room. Journal of an Officer 3: Inside the Red Access room. Journal of an Officer 4: Inside the Blue Access room. Journal of an Officer 5: Can spawn in the same place as Journal #4

Notes not in Building 21:

-Ashika Research Documents: Inside in the Research Center Room on Ashika Island. -Fake Al-Qatala Documents: Located in an Al Mazrah dead drop for a mission. -Crown Intel: On the 3rd floor of the factory on Ashika Island. Needs a secure bag to track. -Medical Documents: Located in three Al Mazrah hospitals (Al Mazrah City, Rohan Oil, and Sawah Village) Needs a secure bag to track.

Warzone 2 DMZ guide: How to easily complete the Tier 4 "Toxin Research" mission

follow icon

The Toxin Research is a Tier 4 mission from the White Lotus faction in Call of Duty: Warzone 2's DMZ. This task is divided into three phases and takes players through Ashika Island and Al Mazrah. The first objective requires them to gather important documents from the Ashika Island Science Center. The second and third phases occur in Al Mazrah, where players must drop the papers at the Tunnels and place a gas can therein.

Successfully completing the mission would reward them with a whopping 30,000 XP and a Lotus Heat Emblem. However, going about the mission isn't so easy. The path to completion will be teeming with both real and AI enemies. Moreover, players must move across Exclusion Zones without dying.

To assist them, this guide will take a closer look at how one can easily complete the Toxin Research mission in Warzone 2's DMZ.

A simple guide to completing the Toxic Research mission in Warzone 2's DMZ

also-read-trending

To start the mission, you must first drop into Ashika Island. The next step is to find a Research Center Room Key, which can be acquired from the HVTs or other players. Once acquired, proceed to the Science Center on Ashika Island. It will be located near the Town Center, inside of which is an office room on the second floor that needs to be unlocked.

From thereon, you will find a lot of items, such as colored Key Cards , loot, and more. Under the computer desk in the room, you will find the Ashika Research Documents. Pick them up and immediately exfiltrate from the area.

Next, drop into Al Mazrah's Exclusion Zone. Now the first priority should be finding a Stronghold key and a gas can. Once acquired, proceed to the Smuggling Tunnels, located underneath the Stronghold between Al Mazrah City and Rohan Oil .

Secret Well Entrance in DMZ (Image via Mapgenie)

However, instead of barging in through the front gates, you can use the well outside the Stronghold to access the tunnels. As you make your way through, turn right after passing the first door, and beneath the lights, you will have to place the gas can along with the Research Documents. Doing so will complete the mission, and you will earn all the rewards.

That's everything about completing the Toxic Research mission in Warzone 2's DMZ . While it might appear complicated, the task becomes quite easy once you know where to find the items.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded is live. The latest update is available on PC (via Battle.net and Steam), Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

Where to find Sensitive Documents in DMZ

Image of Harrison Thomas

Warzone 2’s DMZ mode lets players run wild in Al Mazrah, Building 21, and Ashika Island. Gamers will likely encounter dozens of enemies scattered throughout multiple intricately designed locations and need to scavenge as much valuable loot as possible before their head gets blown clean off.

You’ll find keys, documents, and loot in almost every location you search. But, knowing where to get the specific thing you need is essential.

To get your hands on “Sensitive Documents” in DMZ , grab some friends, hop into a server, and gear up as much as possible. You’ll likely encounter AI combatants or other players in your travels, and you’ll want to be prepared.

How do I find Sensitive Documents in Warzone 2’s DMZ ?

There are several locations where you can discover Sensitive Documents in DMZ . You’ll likely find some in your travels, but odds are they won’t be in your inventory at the right time.

A solid place to start is any police station in Al Mazrah. Since there are several locations throughout the map, you’ll likely find one as you burst down the jailhouse door. One particular police station is more likely to have them hidden in their cells.

research documents dmz

Go to the very east side of Al Sharim Pass and find the police station. There is your best bet for finding these Sensitive Documents.

Safes are your best friend. Find a safe, and there’s a strong chance you’ll find Sensitive Documents. While enemies aren’t your friend, they do sport the occasional document that’ll assist you in your mission. So make sure you’re searching each enemy while traversing Al Mazrah.

It’s as simple as that, make sure you have some friends so you don’t die in the process. While they are easy to come across, it’s way too annoying having to go on the hunt again.

Warzone DMZ How to Complete Researcher’s Dilemma Mission

Image of Noah Nelson

Researcher’s Dilemma is a tough mission in Warzone 2 DMZ that requires running back and forth on Vondel. If you don’t know where you’re going, this mission can seem impossible. Here is exactly where to go and what to do to complete Researcher’s Dilemma in DMZ.

Where to Find the Researcher’s Notes in DMZ Researcher’s Dilemma

The first objective in the DMZ mission Researcher’s Dilemma is to find the researcher’s notes in the Vondel Zoo veterinary office .

Warzone-DMZ-Researchers-Dilemma-Veterinarian-Location

The Vondel Zoo veterinary office is located in the southwest corner of the Zoo POI . However, to get into the veterinary office, you need a Veterinarian Key . You can get a Veterinarian Key by completing the Black Mous Tier 2 Anti-Air mission . Otherwise, it’s found at random by killing enemies on Vondel.

Once you’re inside the veterinary office, the researcher’s notes are found on the counter at the back of the room . Beware of lingering guards, pick up any guns you find useful, grab the researcher’s notes, and get out of there.

Where is the Church Near the Castle in DMZ Researcher’s Dilemma

The second objective in Researcher’s Dilemma is to find the church near the castl e and plant the researcher’s notes. The Castle is the POI in the northwest of Vondel, but where is the church?

Warzone-DMZ-Researchers-Dilemma-Church-Location

The church is the cross-shaped building south of the Castle . When I did this, there were dozens of heavily armored guards blocking the church. To get in easily, you can jump in through the window on the southwest side or go into the catacombs in the building southwest of the church and climb up into the church safely.

Once you are inside the church, you need to walk o utside the chapel and go up the ladder in the foyer . Now you’re on the second floor which is where you need to plant the researcher’s notes and also take the false gas research notes . If you forget to grab these, you’ll need to come back — so don’t forget.

How to Plant False Gas Research Notes in DMZ Researcher’s Dilemma

With the false gas research notes in hand, I climbed to the top of the church and parachuted off toward the nearest vehicle. Hop into the vehicle and drive back to the Vondel Zoo veterinary office .

Note: The easiest way to get into the Vondel Zoo veterinary office is to drive south on the road to the west of the Zoo and park your vehicle at the corner. You can then jump through the window on the outside and the veterinary office is right in front of you.

Warzone-DMZ-Researchers-Dilemma-Driving

Go to where you picked up the researcher’s notes and place the false gas research notes . Once that is done, you’ll complete the Researcher’s Dilemma mission and be good to go on the Look Out mission .

How to Complete Toxin Research Mission in Warzone 2 DMZ

Amir Naseri

The Toxin Research mission in  Warzone 2 DMZ is the final task for the Tier 4 White Lotus faction. Completing it unlocks the last tier for this group, and here’s how you can complete this objective.

The White Lotus  is the first faction you make the contracts for in DMZ. These factions’ missions are not so that hard but often task you to travel in the game’s maps.

For example, the Toxin Research Mission in 2  Warzone 2  is precisely one of the travelling assignments. You must go to Ashika Island, pick up some documents, and place them in a gas can in Al-Mazrah.

What are the Objectives of the Toxin Research Mission in 2 Warzone 2 DMZ?

  • Pick up the documents at Ashika Island’s Science Center.
  • Place the papers in Al-Mazrah Smuggling Tunnels.
  • Place a gas can in the exact location in Al-Mazrah.

As you can see, the mission is simple. The first thing you need to do is to find a key to Ashika Island’s Science Center. This key is obtainable in the ground loot, but we recommend completing a quick HVT contract.

Toxin Research Mission in Warzone 2 DMZ

Then you need to go to the location above and find the locked door on the second floor. Here you will see the documents under a desk. Pick it up, and exfil successfully to finish part one of the Toxin Research Mission in Warzone 2.

Next, you must go to the Al-Mazrah map and find a stronghold key. If you have it, you are a step ahead of the objective. Then find a gas can to finish parts 2 and 3 simultaneously.

Al-Mazrah

In the end, go to the location above with the key and the gas can in your pack. Here you will find a zipline to a tunnel. Unlock the door, and turn right to find an interaction point for placing the items. There you have it; Toxin Research Mission in 2  Warzone 2  is accomplished!

How to Complete Exfil Tracking Mission in Warzone 2 DMZ

Remember, you must start the mission again if you die and lose the documents. That means going to Ashika Island, retrieving the item, and going to Al-Mazrah for the final placement. Also, if you wanted a stronghold key for parts 2 and 3 of the mission, you could buy it from the shops or achieve it from ground loot.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2  and  Modern Warfare 2  are available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

DMZ Researchers Dilemma Mission Guide

Image of Dipanjan Dey

In Call of Duty DMZ, you'll come across the Researcher's Dilemma after unlocking Tier 3 objectives with the Black Mous faction. This is one of the trickier missions for this faction, as it requires you to visit two different POIs to exchange certain items. I've completed this mission solo and assisted several teammates to get it done on different runs. Luckily, you can use some of the tricks I did to complete this mission without making the same mistakes. Here's how to complete the Researcher's Dilemma in Call of Duty DMZ.

How to complete the Researcher's Dilemma Mission in DMZ

Researcher's Dilemma is a Tier 3 Black Mous mission that takes place on Vondel . To start and complete Researcher's Dilemma, select the mission from the tab and queue in on the new Vondel map. This mission has three objectives , and you'll need to travel between two major POIs.

First, you need to visit the Zoo POI located on the southwestern side of the map to get the Research Notes. Then, you'll need to visit the Castle POI located on the northern area of the Vondel map to place the Research Notes and to pick up the False Gas Research Notes. Once that's done, you must return to the Veterinarian Office and place the False Gas Research Notes. You need to do all of this in a single deployment, so I'd recommend getting a vehicle first to travel across the map.

All objectives in the Researcher's Dilemma Mission in DMZ

research documents dmz

Here are all the objectives for the Researcher's Dilemma mission in DMZ.

  • Find the researcher's notes in the Vondel Zoo Veterinary Office
  • Place the Researcher's notes on the 2nd floor of the church near the castle in the same deployment
  • Take the False Notes from the Church and place them in the Veterinary Office in the same deployment

Where to find the Researcher's Notes in the Vondel Zoo Veterinary Office

research documents dmz

To start the first objective of the Researcher's Dilemma mission, you need to visit the Veterinary Office at the Zoo POI . Check the yellow circle on the map image above to see the exact location of the Veterinary Office. Keep in mind that to get inside the Office, you will need the Veterinary Key . Thankfully, this key can be obtained by completing a Tier 2 Black Mous mission.

research documents dmz

Once you are inside the building, unlock the Veterinary Office, and walk straight into the room to find the table with test tubes. This is where you will find the Vondel Gas Research Notes , and you need to stow them in your backpack. This will complete the first objective of the Researcher's Dilemma mission. Remember, this building can sometimes spawn as a Stronghold, so you'll need a Stronghold keycard to enter it.

Where to place the Researcher's Notes in the Church near the Castle

research documents dmz

With the Vondel Gas Research Notes in your backpack, visit the Castle POI on the northwestern corner of the map. You need to enter the Church in front of the Castle POI and visit the second floor of this building to place the Research Notes. Check the white circle on the first image above to see the exact location of the Church.

After reaching the Church, climb up the ladder near the entrance to reach the second floor. On the second floor, you'll see a dimly lit light kept on a corner. Stand in front of this corner, and the prompt to place the Research Notes will pop up on your screen. You can reference the second image above to see the exact spot where to place the Research Notes. After placing the Research Notes, you must pick up the False Gas Research Notes from the same spot and stow them in your backpack. This completes the second objective of the Researcher's Dilemma mission.

One thing to remember is if you do not find the False Gas Research Notes at Church in the same spot, then some other Operator must have taken it for their mission. In that case, you'll need to visit the Church in a different run. I would recommend using a vehicle to travel quickly from Zoo to the Castle before anyone else can pick up the False Gas Research Notes.

Where to place False Notes in the Veterinary Office

research documents dmz

With the False Gas Research Notes stowed in your backpack, return to the Veterinarian Office at the Zoo POI. You must stand in front of the table where you picked up the previous note from, and the prompt to place the False Gas Research Notes will appear. Place the False Gas Research Notes at the spot shown in the image above to complete the third and final objective of the Researcher's Dilemma mission.

How to get the Veterinarian Key in DMZ

research documents dmz

The toughest part of the Researcher's Dilemma mission is to get inside the Veterinarian Office, as you'll need a specific key to unlock this area. Thankfully, you can complete the Anti-Air Tier 2 Black Mous mission to get the Veterinarian Key as a reward. The key will be stored in your Stash, and you can stow it in your backpack before matchmaking.

Alternatively, you can also complete HVT Contracts on Vondel to get keys for different locked locations across the map. I found a couple of Veterinarian Keys simply by completing HVT Contracts around Vondel. If you have already completed the Researcher's Dilemma mission, give the Veterinarian Key to your teammates and friends to help them complete this mission and progress in the Black Mous faction.

Researcher's Dilemma Mission rewards in DMZ

After completing the Researcher's Dilemma mission, you will be rewarded with +10,000 XP and the Aquarium Key that can be used at the Vondel Zoo POI . The Aquarium is a denied area in DMZ, meaning you'll find countless AI forces inside this locked space. Most of these AI forces carry good weapons and wear body armor, so be careful while infiltrating this area.

The University of Maryland’s 1856 Project , part of the Universities Studying Slavery consortium, has been awarded a generous $200,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation Public Knowledge program to establish a two-year research incubator program that will investigate the legacy of slavery at the university and document histories of enslaved individuals, ensuring their stories and contributions are recognized, honored and preserved. The grant marks a significant milestone for The 1856 Project, providing momentum in advancing the Project’s aim to develop effective methods for research initiatives that reveal the truth about human enslavement and racism in institutional histories.

In collaboration with the Lakeland Community Heritage Project, Riversdale Historical Society, and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), The 1856 Project will utilize the grant to establish a Research Incubator for Reparative Histories and Social Justice (RHSJ). A cohort of campus and community researchers, led by Lae'l Hughes-Watkins, Co-Chair of The 1856 Project and UMD Libraries’ Associate Director of Engagement, Inclusion and Reparative Archiving; and Georgina Dodge, UMD’s Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion, will develop and produce “micro-histories” of enslaved individuals associated with the University of Maryland. These histories will document individual experiences through a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating first-hand accounts, historical research, cultural anthropology, ethnography, and literary practices.

“Receiving this grant from the Mellon Foundation reinvigorates our commitment to confronting historical injustices, promoting dialogue and honoring the contributions of enslaved individuals,” said Hughes-Watkins. “Work resulting from the research incubator will not only enrich the understanding of generations of racialized trauma rooted in the university's past but also contribute to fostering a more inclusive and empathetic campus culture moving forward.”

In addition to funding original research, the grant will support documentation of best practices for similar reparative archives work. The 1856 Project plans to use the research incubator to develop a model for collaborative research between academic institutions and community partners focused on investigating the impact of the slave economy on surrounding communities and the role of academic institutions in perpetuating human subjugation. The grant will also fund community training sessions to equip emerging researchers with the skills necessary to navigate databases, engage in genealogical research and work with archival material. Educational modules developed through the research incubator will be used in courses at UMD and other academic institutions and in public community centers, amplifying the impact of the project beyond the University of Maryland.

About The 1856 Project

The 1856 Project is hosted by the University of Maryland Libraries and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and is part of Universities Studying Slavery, a consortium of over 100 institutions of higher education in the U.S. and beyond engaged in truth-telling educational projects focused on human bondage and the legacies of racism in their histories.

An important part of the University of Maryland's strategic commitments, The 1856 Project provides a narrative of the university's history that embraces its past, stands firm in the challenges and achievements of its present, and lays the groundwork for a more equitable future.
