It was a cloudy day when I took my first step into the compound of my school. I was carrying a new backpack that was filled with notebooks. Though the backpack was a bit heavy, instead of focusing on the weight, I was excited about the beginning of my journey on my first day in school.

My father has a government job which requires him to shift a lot. Even though we stayed in the same place, my father moved from one place to another. After being in the same school for 8 years, my father finally got a permanent posting.

This meant that we had to move to a new city and join a new school. I was very nervous to move to a new city and even more to join a new school. My present school has all my friends whom I cannot stay apart from.

First day of school. I was so exhilarated. On the night before the first day of school, I prepared everything for the next day. I chose a beautiful floral dress and practiced french braiding my hair.  I had been practicing and learning how to french braid for weeks.  When everything was ready, I climbed into bed. I was so excited that I could fall asleep. I kept twisting and turning, and my eyes just wouldn’t stay shut. It was like there was a string pulling my eyelids up, preventing me from ever closing my eyes. I don’t remember when I fell asleep, but it felt like I was awake for hours before I finally closed my eyes and drifted off.

On the morning of the joyous day, I woke up at the sound of my alarm. Before I even opened my eyes, I knew what day it was. I reached for my clock and turned off the blaring alarm. I walked toward my closet excitedly, knowing that I got to wear my favorite dress today. Then, I quickly got dressed, grabbed my supplies, and ran down the stairs to do my hair. When I got to the bottom of my stairs, I took a sharp right turn to my vanity. I sat down, grabbed a small section of hair, and started braiding. After about 10 minutes, two elastic bands, and a handful of bobby pins, I finished. I was more than satisfied with my hair. When I got to the dining table, I saw my favorite pancakes. Swiftly sitting down, I stabbed a pancake with my fork and munched down on it. It was so good. I quickly wolfed down my delicious pancakes and waited for my best friend, Gabby, to arrive.

Ding dong! I ran toward the front door, almost slipping on my socks. I fumbled with the lock as I tried to open the door. When I finally got it open, I saw my best friend and jumped joyfully.

“I’ll be right there!” I exclaimed as I swung my backpack over my shoulders and went to the front door. Then I wrapped my arms around my parents, giving them a tight hug.

When I got outside, Gabby and I started walking to school. Our conversations were endless. We could’ve talked for hours just about how fun school was going to be with each other. When we arrived at our classroom, we had to pause our conversations. Our teacher welcomed us in and led us to our seats. 

The day was going great. The teacher told us that we could choose where we wanted to sit, so I got to sit next to Gabby. Everyone introduced themselves to one another, and then we got organized for the rest of the school year. Out of all the things you do on the first day of school, getting organized is by far my favorite part. Everything was going great until 11:50 AM.

At 11:50, the bell rang for our second recess. Gabby 10 minutes later, Gabby says, “Can you stop following me?” I was taken aback. I couldn’t believe it. The first day of school and she tells me to stop following her? She was the only person I knew! I try not to present myself as weak and just laughed as if I ignored her comment.

The rest of the day was fine after the second recess. When I got home after school, my mom asked how my first day was. I told her it was great except for when Gabby told me to stop following her. My mom was taken aback as well. Being the great mom that she was, she discussed this situation with me.

“Is there anyone else that is nice that you could be friends with?” my mom asked.

I thought about who was in my class. “Oh, there is this one girl that is also new. I think I could be friends with her since she doesn’t have any friends yet either.”

“That’s great! Tomorrow, you should try to talk to her.”

The next day, I approached the other new student during recess. Her name was G.. 

“Do you want to sit on the swings together?” I asked.

“Sure,” she replied. Then, we ran to the swings together.

We sat on the swings every day since that day. G. and I started to bond as we hung out together during recess every day. We started inside jokes and conversations just flowed smoothly like a stream.

G. is my closest, most trusted friend, and I give all the credit to my mother. She encouraged me when I was timorous, and she comforted me when I was disconsolate.

In recess, I took my lunch. The class monitor joined me in my lunch. He was a nice fellow. He showed me to the school and took me to the playground. It was a big ground.

After recess, there were four more periods. I was feeling quite comfortable in the class. All the teachers were very nice and friendly. Their way of teaching was also very good and interesting.

At 1 O’clock the last bell went. I left the class and came back home. My mother was waiting at the door. She was worried about me. She felt relieved when she saw me happy. I told her everything that happened in the school. She was glad to hear the account of my first day in school.

The name of my new school is (school name required). It is located near to my home. The building of my school is old but well maintained. The rooms are airy and well furnished.

Every school is known for its teachers. The teachers of the school are highly qualified. They not only teach the students but give them a guideline too, that how to be practical.

I can judge anything as I can do the difference between what is good and what is bad?

Now the day has come when I have to go to my new school I am very excited and happy because I know that I am going to school where I will meet with the people and will make new friends but as a human, I am nervous too because everyone is new to me.

When I arrived at school. I saw a gatekeeper with full dress means he was showing the discipline, rules, and regulations of the school. When I entered the gate building is old but well maintained. The walls are decorated with beautiful sketches to create an atmosphere of study for students.

When I entered in my class I saw everyone as surprised as I am, because I am a new one to them. Then the bell rung we all the students from different classes start walking to the assembly hall. When assembly finished all the students go to their classes. Then every teacher came to take our class and taking my introduction. After four periods break time came. Where I saw that school has two canteens for boys and girls.

I met with new friends who told me that the school has more than thirty rooms for classes, including two staff rooms for male and female teachers. Along with this, different labs are also available for students of higher grades to perform practicals of chemistry and physics.

They told me about the rules of the school and told me that, management takes strict action on those students who try to break the rules.

As my friends told me and a saw too that the teachers of our school are highly qualified with highly experienced. They not only teach the students but give them a guideline too.

They also told me the main reason why our school comes in the list of best schools? The reason is that after papers, Parents Teachers Meeting (P.T.M) held in our school in which teachers tell the progress of students to their parents and give following advises to the students regarding studies, which help them to increase their learning skills and which develop the interest of a student towards studies.

Then I get to know that it is a well-known education center and given a high rank. It is an honor for me, to study in this school.

That was my first day of school. I love my school so much.

My First Day at School: Short Paragraph (100 Words)

My name is Suhas, in 2002 I was six years old and I have remembered a very important event that happened in my life. My parents decided to admit me to the nearest school. The date was 5th January 2002. I was really excited about the whole thing. I went there with both of my father and mother.

They brought me to the headmaster’s room. Later I knew that the headmaster was a friend of my father. He asked me a few basic questions about letters and poems. I learned so many poems and knew all the letters, and I answered him properly. Then I got admitted there.    

My First Day at School: Paragraph (150 Words)

In 3rd January 1999, I went to my school for the first time, so that was my first day at school. I was really excited about the day. My parents taught me basic letters and a few poems before and I was ready to start my school life. But I was pretty much scared about the first day.

My father took me to the teachers’ room where our class teacher was sitting. She took an entry in a notebook about me and asked me a couple of questions. I was feeling uncomfortable but I gave all the answers properly. She was happy about me and I understood that with her smile.

Then she took me from my father and went to the classroom. I was feeling really weird and wanted to cry. I found lots of kids were sitting there who are like me, at my age. Then I sit beside one and started my first ever school class. I can’t forget that day.    

My First Day at School: Paragraph (200 Words)

In 2001, I had a very special event in my life. I was six years old and one day my mother told me that I am going to school from next day. I was really excited because I have seen lots of my cousins are going to school already. I was thinking about school, the teachers, the students.

I couldn’t even sleep in the night. My mother gets up early in the morning and wakes me up too. And then I took a bath and wear the best clothes for me. We went to Snanghan Govt. Primary School with my mother and my aunty. They were encouraging me and describing the good environment in the school.

Finally, we arrived there and they took me to the teachers’ room. I can remember, Rumi madam was our class teacher. She asked me a few questions about my letters and poems knowledge. I was good at these because my mother taught me before. I answered every question properly.

She took my name and information in the notebook and let me go to the classroom. That was for the first time, I was entering a classroom in my whole life. I was really excited and loving that moment. I can’t forget that feeling at all. I won’t forget this special day in my whole life.

On the morning of my first day at school, I woke up very early. I was so excited that I didn’t even need my mom to wake me up. I quickly got out of bed and put on my brand new school uniform. It was a crisp white shirt and a blue skirt. I felt so grown up and important in that uniform. After getting dressed, I had a delicious breakfast that my mom had prepared for me. I was too excited to eat much, but I knew I needed the energy for the big day ahead.

When I arrived at school, I couldn’t believe my eyes. There were so many students and parents everywhere. The school was buzzing with activity. As we entered my classroom, I saw my teacher standing at the front. She had a warm smile on her face and welcomed me with open arms. My teacher made the lessons so much fun that I didn’t even realize I was learning. We played games, sang songs, and even had a little art project. I was having such a great time that I almost forgot I was in school.

Looking back, my first day at school was a rollercoaster of emotions. I started the day feeling excited, then I was nervous, and by the end of the day, I was happy and relieved. I realized that school wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. My teacher and classmates were all so nice, and I felt like I was a part of a big family. I was proud of myself for being brave and stepping into this new world.
