I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer back in January 2016. I had to have a complete hysterectomy. A three hour surgery turned out to be a six hour surgery. My only complaint was, my family was not updated on my status during surgery. They were getting pretty worried about me. They would go up to the desk and ask. All they said was I was still in surgery. When I got to my room, the nurses were so attentive. I really don't remember a whole lot about that day. I am going by what my family said. The next day I was more awake. Any time I needed a nurse, they were right there. Very helpful about anything I needed. I didn't feel like I was a burden to them. They all had a good attitude like they were happy to be there. Even the housekeeping staff had positive attitudes. This was my first surgery and if I have to have another one, I want to be at Research.

We are grateful for the kind words regarding our care teams. We want to apologize for the issues your family experienced while you were in surgery. Our hospital truly values your feedback. We will work with our staff to improve our communication processes.
I'd rather die than do an inpatient procedure here again. HCA is horrible. Most staff are nice and trying. But their hands are tied by CYA policies, lack of staff on sites ability to make treatment decisions, protocol, understaffing, and horrible management. Understaffed, barely going through the motions, and totally non responsive to patients concerns or requests.. A total lack of follow up on questions or requests from patients regarding care. Basically a bunch of bobble head dolls. I had no shower or sponge bath in 5 days. Brought food I could not open because of loss of use of right arm as a result of surgery. I asked for help and staff dropped tray and left multiple times. Worst inpatient experience of my life! HCA is a real estate investment firm not a healthcare company. Avoid HCA hospitals at all costs. You have been warned
I was brought to this hospital due to my hospital being full and not taking patients. I will be asked to be discharged in the morning and I do not recommend this place. I am a heart patient and I have spent the last few days in and out of AFIB with severe pain 10/10. I recieved no help to get out of AFIB or nothing for pain but Tylenol which if you have heart problems you know does not work. I feel the 2 cardiac Doctors I have are terrible at bed side manners. The nurses at this hospital are great! They tried getting the Drs to help, sometimes the Dr would not answer back. I hope if they are ever in this amount of pain no one will dismiss their pain. So I will be asking to be discharged in the morning and I will not come back. Lisa
I came in telling them I felt pain in my chest. I felt as if my heart just popped. Without testing me without doing any blood any CAT scan anything they just went on ahead and said those anxiety and sent me on to a mental journey of f***. After being on mental medication when I didn't need it I developed mental problems. And also those pills counteracted my real medical problems and put on 200 lb. I have cancerous cells, I have 23 problems with my blood. I wish I would have caught this sooner and not believe doctors when they didn't even test me but diagnosed me with a mental condition without testing my physical Marion the most lazy people I've ever met in my life. Even after I had it my first colonoscopy at 29 they didn't explain s*** to me. I moved to Michigan just to get the answers I needed. This hospital does more bad than good
Very informative and friendly. Made me feel welcomed. I had surgery and my husband was kept in the loop the whole time. I was even sent a thank you card signed by my caregivers!
While the communication at the hospital was fine sometimes, there was a huge misrepresentation of truth with one of their case nurses which caused numerous problems. Upon inquiry, I got weak excuses from the supervisor and was promised a call from the patient representative. That was over 4 weeks ago. I have yet to receive a call. Perhaps yet another miscommunication? Clear and accurate communications are a cornerstone in good patient care. That does not happen at Research Medical Center.
Amazing attention to detail, and thier COO may be the kindest and most thoughtful executives I've ever met!
This was my very first time ever being admitted to a Hosptial and I just be honest I was pretty scared. Bit a single member was ever rude. They were all so sweet and helpful! I was on 5th floor for 4 days for 2 surgeries and all my nurse and doctors were very happy.
People GREAT, a 5 Finding way around- horrible, but then I was going the hard way - from emergency to trauma floor. Then back again the next day. A tip- emergency is on floor A
Research Medical Center has gone through a lot of changes, and as recently been updated. I've been here many times through the years since the 70s. I haven't been a patient, but I've seen my grandparents, parents, wife, and children here for just about everything. I've never had a negative experience.
