2022 Study in Korea Online Education Fair with Busan Metropolitan City

The “Study in Korea Fair” is an event that the Ministry of Education’s National Institute for International Education (NIIED) uses to promote studying in Korea and provides information on university admissions to support the globalization of universities in Korea by discovering and fostering international students.

The 2022 Study in Korea Online Education Fair with Busan Metropolitan City takes place online from June 14 to June 23 at https://www.studyinkorea.go.kr/ko/expo/cyber_expo_past_detail.do?expo_no=90®ion_code=13002&template_id=BUSAN2021

The 2022 Study in Korea Education Fair with Local Governments "Study in Busan Live" event is scheduled to take place on June 18, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm.

The ten participating universities in Busan include Kyungnam College of Information Technology, Dongseo University, Donga University, Dongju College, Pukyong University, Catholic University of Pusan, Pusan National University, Busan University of Foreign Studies, Silla University and Korea Maritime and Ocean University.

The Study in Korea Online Education Fair has taken place twice already, during the first half and the second half of last year, with 14 participating universities in Busan. About 160,000 people visited the online education fair with Busan Metropolitan City.

The City of Busan established the International Students Support Center at the Busan Foundation for International Cooperation in 2012 and organized the Busan International Students Support Council to attract and support international students. The support center operates various international students support programs – study, daily life consulting, scholarships, an internship program and more.

Study in Korea education fair kicks off

“Study in Korea Fair” kicked off its biannual online exposition in cooperation with local governments on Tuesday.

A total of 84 universities across South Korea provide participants with information on courses, admission and scholarship in this session, which runs through Dec. 1.

Nine local governments also have online booths, including Busan, Daegu and Incheon, the country’s most populous cities.

Participants can get real-time counseling and information about admissions to local universities by registering online. Some universities also receive applications during the event.

The fair, targeted at foreigners who hope to study in South Korea, was first launched in 2001 and was held in person overseas.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the event has taken place online via the “Study in Korea Online Education Fair” official website.

An earlier session held in the first half of the year drew 260,000 website hits, according to the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), the event's organizer.

The number of foreign students studying in South Korea has rebounded to 167,000 in 2022, according to Education Ministry.

“We hope the exposition could help students who want to study in South Korea find chances in various provinces of South Korea,” NIIED Director Ryu Hye-sook said.

Study in Korea Fair, An Online Education Fair for Global Students

The Online Study in Korea Fair is an event that the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) of the Ministry of Education promotes studying in Korea and provides information of university admissions to support globalization of universities in Korea by discovering and fostering international students.

About the Foundation

The Study in Korea began in 2001, has hosted in 219 cities in 38 countries with the aim of attracting 200,000 international students by 2023. In 2017, 59,000 local students participated in the Study in Korea Fair in 17 cities in 13 countries including Iran and Mexico. In 2019, the foundation was planning to host the Study in Korea Fair with excellent Korean universities in 19 cities in 16 countries in continents of Asia, Europe, and Americas.

About 2020 Online Study in Korea Fair

The Online Study in Korea Fair, which started in 2015, is an online education fair that promotes studying in Korea and offers online information of Korean universities in countries and regions where offline education fairs are not held. In 2018, 15,280 students from 110 countries participated the Fair and will be held in March, July and December 2020 as well.

How to Join

• Visit the official website of Study in Korea Online Education Fair through the following link .
• Click the “Register” button. If you have registered as a member before, click on “Member Register”. However, if this is your first time, select the “Non-member Register” option. Apart from these two options, you can also connect through your social media accounts like Facebook and Google+.
• You will then be asked to fill out a registration form containing your personal identity, including: nationality, name, email address, gender, current level of education, and courses of interest. After completing the registration form, click the “Register” button.
• You have registered as a member of the exhibition and are welcome to visit the booths of each of the existing universities.
• The booths are divided into five categories based on the level of education provided by each participating university, namely Bachelor’s, Associate Degree, Korean Language Course, Doctorate, and Master’s. Click on one of these categories to sort universities according to the level of education you want.
• Click on the “Live Chat” icon to check more detailed information from the university of your interest.

Closing Date

Study in Korea Fair takes place since March 24, 2020 and will end on April 6. Register yourself immediately to take part in this free education exhibition. Gain as much benefit as possible to get the most complete information about each South Korean university participating in the program.
