Auto-Schedule Job Assignment with Fixed Shifts and Multiple Jobs for Employees

This article assists with how the system decides which job to assign to an employee when there is no demand on the system and the employee has fixed shifts and multiple jobs. mar 27, 2024 • knowledge, information.

• The Scheduling Service doesn't prioritize Secondary jobs by default.
• If the Primary job has no demand, the system typically selects the Secondary job with the highest demand.
• When considering "most demand," the system looks at the entire scheduling period, not just the demand at a specific time.
• If none of the Secondary jobs have demand, the choice may be arbitrary.
• The exception is for Fixed Shifts. In this case, if no Secondary jobs have demand, the system selects based on the role order.
• For Fixed Shift employees with multiple Secondary jobs in demand, the system picks based on the role order. If demand is equal for all the jobs otherwise it picks based on higher demand.
• Demand and labor role order both have weight in the decision, so higher demand usually leads to selection, and if demand is equal, the role order is considered.

SANTA FE, Texas – Parents in Texas are irate after a high school junior taking a college-level psychology class was given a gender-based assignment. The issue has also had some state officials raising eyebrows, with one Texas senator questioning its legality.

Shay Cundiff, a 17-year-old junior at Santa Fe High School, located just southeast of Houston, said her teacher gave students the assignment in their dual credit college-level psychology course that is in conjunction with College of the Mainland. The assignment is called The Genderbread Person, which features a drawing of what appears to be a gingerbread man, but those raising concerns say there is nothing “cookie-cutter” about it.

“It made me feel uncomfortable and distasteful,” Shay Cundiff, a 17-year-old Santa Fe High School Junior said. “We had to fill out our information on a paper-based off of what we identify as and what we’re sexually and romantically attracted to.”

Cundiff says students were also required to write an essay about how they feel about the lesson.

“I didn’t agree with the point of view that are in the paper,” she said.

Before the assignment that was due Sunday, Cundiff says the teacher hadn’t really discussed gender identity, just sex organs. The curriculum caught her and her parents off guard.

“We wouldn’t have really known,” Shad Cundiff, Shay’s father said. “I mean, she was just going through doing the assignment like her teacher instructed her to do, and unless my wife hadn’t seen what she was writing and started talking to her about it, we wouldn’t have really known.”

Not only are Cundiff’s parents upset, but so is TX State Senator Mayes Middleton for District 11. He mentioned that in Texas, gender modification of minors is against the law under Texas Senate Bill 14 , and believes this curriculum promotes it.

“That is not right,” Middleton said. “I’m looking at it with our State Board of Education members and to me it sure looks like they’re advocating for something that’s illegal.”

Senator Middleton says he was told by a State Board of Education member the curriculum was developed by Planned Parenthood.

As for, Cundiff, she says she plans to stay in the course because the only way to avoid it is if she were to drop it, which means she wouldn’t get the credits she’s been earning.

On Monday, a Santa Fe ISD official said they do not agree with the assignment, and it is not a part of their curriculum. The spokesperson added College of the Mainland would be the one to reach out to for more comment, as it was their course.

A College of the Mainland official acknowledged a complaint had been filed, and said they are trying to determine specifically what happened.

Authorities investigate if glasses found belong to Sebastian Rogers; no foul play suspected

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. ( WSMV /Gray News) - The search for Sebastian Rogers, a missing teenager with autism, continues.

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference Tuesday to reaffirm their diligence in finding Sebastian and to answer questions as the search for the 15-year-old enters its sixth week.

“Our commitment to finding Sebastian Rogers remains,” Sumner County Chief Deputy Eric Craddock said during the press conference.

Sebastian was last seen on Feb. 26 after his parents said he left their home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, in the middle of the night.

“My hope and prayer is that Sebastian is still alive,” Craddock said.

Craddock confirmed that a pair of glasses were found in the last few days, but they are still investigating whether or not it is connected to Sebastian.

At the moment, there is no evidence of foul play or indication of criminal activity in connection to Sebastian’s disappearance, according to authorities. TBI reported that his parents have been cooperating with law enforcement since he went missing.

Craddock also said they have not ruled anything out.

In the weeks following Sebastian’s disappearance, state and local authorities have used helicopters, drones and search-and-rescue dogs, along with massive search parties, to look for him. Waterways and even a landfill in Kentucky were searched for signs of the missing teenager.

The Tennesse Bureau of Investigation said during the press conference that while the searches have been scaled back, they are still doing everything they can to advance the investigation even if it does not appear as “visible.”

“It’s gone back to good old-fashioned police work,” a representative for TBI said. “Interviewing people, going over leads. We’re checking in with other law enforcement agencies to get advice from them on cases like this.”

Authorities ask the public to continue on the lookout for Sebastian. They asked that people in the area, specifically those with large plots of land, recheck their property for anything unusual that could lead to Sebastian’s location. They also asked for people to check areas where the teenager could have hidden.

“We just want to make sure ... that there is no stone left unturned,” the TBI representative said. “That we want people to make sure that we are looking everywhere we can.”

The TBI representative also warned of inaccurate information that has been spread on social media. They said that the rumors and speculations that “have been advanced” on social media have caused a distraction to their investigation.

PatFT, AppFT, PubEAST and PubWEST were retired on September 30. Preexisting links to U.S. patents and pre-grant publications are no longer available. You will need to create new links for saved documents. The Patent Public Search tool is a new web-based patent search application that will replace internal legacy search tools PubEast and PubWest and external legacy search tools PatFT and AppFT. Patent Public Search has two user selectable modern interfaces that provide enhanced access to prior art. The new, powerful, and flexible capabilities of the application will improve the overall patent searching process.

Global Dossier

Global Dossier is a set of business services aimed at modernizing the global patent system and delivering benefits to all stakeholders through a single portal/user interface .  Through this secure service, users have access to the file histories of related applications from participating IP Offices, which currently include the IP5 Offices.

By using this service, users can see the patent family for a specific application, containing all related applications filed at participating IP Offices, along with the dossier, classification, and citation data for these applications. This service also provides Office Action Indicators to help users identify applications that contain office actions, a Collections View for saving documents and applications for review later on in the session, and the ability to download the documents in an application.

Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR)

The Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR) system provides IP customers a safe, simple, and secure way to retrieve and download information regarding patent application status.

Public Search Facility

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Public Search Facility located in Alexandria, VA provides the public access to patent and trademark information in a variety of formats including on-line, microfilm, and print. Trained staff are available to assist public users.

Patent and Trademark Resource Centers (PTRCs)

Your nearest Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) maintains local search resources and may offer training in patent search techniques.

Patent Official Gazette

The Electronic Official Gazette allows users to browse through the issued patents for the current week. The Official Gazette can be browsed by classification or type of patent, for example, utility, design, and plant.

Common Citation Document (CCD)

The Common Citation Document (CCD) application aims to provide single point access to up-to-date citation data relating to the patent applications of the IP5 Offices. It consolidates the prior art cited by all participating offices for the family members of a patent application, thus enabling the search results for the same invention produced by several offices to be visualized on a single page. The creation of the CCD application is part of an ongoing process of technical harmonization at international level aimed at establishing an appropriate infrastructure to facilitate greater integration of the global patent system.

To see if your idea has been patented abroad, you'll want to refer to searchable databases made available from other International Intellectual Property offices. Free online access to patent collections is provided by many countries. Some available databases include:

Stopfakes.Gov provides informative Toolkits that give an overview of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) environment in various countries around the world.

The Patent Examination Data System (PEDS) in the Amazon Cloud provides public users the ability to search, view and download bibliographic data for all publicly available Patent applications in a secure manner. Dodgers claim outfielder Taylor Trammell off waivers

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed outfielder Taylor Trammell off waivers from the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated left-handed pitcher Matt Gage for assignment.

Trammell, 26, was designated for assignment by the Mariners last week after failing to make their Opening Day roster. He batted .130 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 22 games with Seattle last season, when he split time with Triple-A Tacoma and hit .268 with 21 homers.

Trammell hit a combined .168 with 15 homers and 39 RBIs in 116 games over three seasons with the Mariners. He was originally drafted by Cincinnati in 2016 out of high school in Georgia.
