Google Workspace pricing (2023): How to choose the right plan for your business

Your email has been sent

Image of Andy Wolber

Google announced in February 2023 Workspace price changes . For customers who pay annually, rates remain unchanged. However, customers who pay monthly will pay slightly more for this flexibility. Price changes go into effect March 2023, except for customers with 10 or fewer accounts, for whom changes are deferred until January 2024.

Here’s a look at the current Google Workspace plans and pricing , along with key features you might consider when selecting a plan.

Plans and pricing for Google Workspace

  • Key features of some Google Workspace and G Suite plans

How to choose a new Google Workspace plan

  • How to choose between monthly or annual plans

Google Workspace’s plans

Google Workspace offers three Business plans — Starter, Standard and Plus — and two Enterprise plans — Standard and Plus ( Figure A ). An additional option, Google Workspace Essentials Starter , allows teams of up to 25 people to use Google’s collaboration tools, such as Google Docs, alongside an existing email and calendar collaboration system.

Google Workspace's pricing plans for Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, and Enterprise

Pricing for Google Workspace Business plans

  • Google Workspace Business Starter : $7.20 per user paid monthly or $72 per user paid annually.
  • Google Workspace Business Standard : $14.40 per user paid monthly or $144 per user paid annually.
  • Google Workspace Business Plus: $21.60 per user paid monthly or $216 per user paid annually.

Pricing for Google Workspace Enterprise plans

Pricing for Enterprise plans is not published. As a legacy customer, when I walked through the upgrade process, the offers I saw included the following; the per user pricing Google offers your organization for Enterprise plans may be different.

  • Google Workspace Enterprise Standard: $27.60 per user per month or $276 per user paid annually.
  • Google Workspace Enterprise Plus: $36 per user per month or $300 per user paid annually.

Google requires that new customers who seek Enterprise licenses contact Sales. Note that there is no minimum or maximum number of users for Enterprise plans.

Google Workspace plans’ features compared

Google provides a comparison page with a detailed checklist that allows you to review the features offered not only across the Business Starter, Standard and Plus plans, but also across the various Enterprise, Education and Essentials editions ( Figure B ).

A detailed comparison of Business Starter, Business Standard and Business Plus features

Pricing of Microsoft 365 Business plans

The adjusted prices align Google Workspace pricing more closely with Microsoft 365 . For example, Microsoft lists pricing for its 365 Business offerings as:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Basic: $72 per user paid annually.
  • Microsoft 365 Business Standard: $150 per user paid annually.
  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium: $264 per user paid annually.

Key features of some Google Workspace plans

The following analysis compares key features of Business Starter, Business Standard and Business Plus plans, along with a few Enterprise plan features.

User limits

The Google Workspace Business plans all add one key constraint not previously present in prior G Suite plans: a maximum of 300 users. If you need more than 300 user accounts, you’ll need an Enterprise plan. Microsoft similarly sets a limit of 300 user accounts on its Microsoft 365 Business plans.

Storage limits

All files created, added or modified after June 1, 2021, count toward a user’s storage limit. Files such as Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms, Sites, images (e.g., JPG, PNG), PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other formats will count toward storage limits.

SEE: Google Workspace storage: 3 essential things you need to know (TechRepublic)

External sharing

Of the three Google Workspace Business plans, both Business Standard and Business Plus offer an administrator the ability to restrict and manage external file sharing with specific domains. An administrator lacks control over external sharing in Business Basic, which may make this plan less appealing where such restrictions may be desired.

Google Meet recording

Business Standard and Business Plus add the ability to record and save Google Meet video conferences. The maximum number of Google Meet participants for the plans are:

  • 100 people for Business Starter
  • 150 people for Business Standard
  • 500 people for Business Plus

Google’s feature comparison page lists several Meet features, such as polling and Q&A and breakout rooms, all of which require a Business Standard or better account. Business Plus and better plans also support attendance tracking in Meet.

E-discovery and retention

Google Vault is the organization’s offering to support administrative e-discovery and data retention. Only Business Plus includes Google Vault; although, organizations on Starter and Standard may select Vault as a paid add-on. When I browsed through my offered pricing, Vault displayed a $6 per user per month add-on price.

If you’re a new customer, your task is relatively simple. Define your needs, select the plan that best fits the balance of your needs and your budget, then help people in your organization get started with Workspace .

If you have been a G Suite or Google Workspace customer, an administrator can sign in to the Admin console to access account options. To do this, the admin would sign in at https://admin.google.com , select the three-horizontal line menu in the upper left corner, then choose Billing, and select Get More Services from the sub-menu.

If you are a current customer, the Google Admin Get More Services page highlights available Google Workspace plans ( Figure C ).

The Google Admin console displays Google Workspace plan options.

Select any of the options, and the system will display the details of key features your account will either gain or lose. Select your option, address any identified issues and follow any step-by-step instructions to switch.

How to choose between monthly or annual Google Workspace plans

A Google Workspace administrator has the option to choose between monthly or annual account payment plans ( Figure D ). In a stable situation with sufficient capital and cash flow, the annual option makes the most financial sense.

Flexible versus Annual/Fixed-Term plans comparison for Google Workspace

However, not every organization has the ability to pre-pay for accounts for a year. The decision between monthly and annual payments becomes more significant as the number of users increases. Since the total dollar difference can be on the order of thousands of dollars each year, your organization’s cash flow and capital position may affect your decision.

Additionally, if you anticipate major reductions in the number of accounts during the upcoming year (i.e., layoffs), the monthly payment option may be preferable. The marginal cost of a few dollars per month per account may be preferable to locking in a discount by paying an annual price for an account no longer needed at a future date.

Google Workspace is a cloud productivity suite for office applications, including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Slides, and Meet. While Google offers these apps for free through a personal account, Google Workspace offers additional business tools like custom company email, larger cloud storage, and admin controls. The Individual monthly plan for solopreneurs costs $10, while teams can sign up for a Business Edition starting at $6.48 per user, monthly.

Google Workspace Review: At a Glance

What We Liked

  • Simple and easy to use
  • Generous cloud storage
  • Real-time document collaboration
  • Extensive third-party integrations

What's Missing

  • Lacks desktop app version
  • Limited formatting flexibility
  • Poor customer support
  • Sub-par chat functionality

When to Use Google Workspace

  • All-in-one collaboration suite: Google Workspace brings together office productivity apps, including email, voice, chat, video conferencing, and content management. This allows your teams to streamline workflow into a single, unified experience.
  • Remote and hybrid working: The platform is designed for teams needing the flexibility to access information and tools on any device from anywhere. With its cloud-based architecture, it eliminates the inefficiencies of using isolated and computer-dependent productivity tools.
  • Organizations working within the Google ecosystem: From shared calendars, branded emails, and document collaboration, Google Workspace includes all the familiar Google-related services in a single, easy-to-manage subscription.

When to Use an Alternative

  • Extensive range of content management features: Google Workspace’s formatting options aren’t as advanced compared to Microsoft 365. It has hundreds of selections for prebuilt document templates and chart types for spreadsheets as well as data analysis and visualizations.
  • All-in-one business management solution: Bitrix24 offers everything you need to build your pipeline, run your sales, and manage your team, all in one place. It’s an online workspace featuring ecommerce, collaboration, project management, business automation, and customer relationship management (CRM).
  • Customizable office suite with collaborative workspace: Zoho Workplace has a unified dashboard view that lets you access all your productivity apps without switching between browser tabs. This makes remote collaboration easier due to its robust customization features like widgets, combined notifications, and announcements.

Google Workspace Deciding Factors

Google Workspace provides all the familiar productivity apps from Google in one affordable package. With a custom business email, teams can use shared calendars, schedule meetings, and invite other members to edit files. It creates an integrated experience across all its productivity tools, allowing multiple users to work together in real time on Documents, Slides, and Sheets across devices.

Google Workspace Alternatives

While Google Workspace is one of the most widely used productivity tools, it doesn’t pack as many features in its platform. Compared to other solutions, Google Workspace has a few missing features, like sophisticated team messaging and project management. If you’re looking for other options, here are the top recommended Google Workspace alternatives:

Google Workspace Pricing

Google Workspace pricing nearly got a perfect score due to its flexible pricing options. Anyone with a personal Gmail account has free access to all Google-based services like Meet, Drive, and Docs. Upgrading to Business editions includes more advanced capabilities. All plans have a 14-day free trial and annual billing discounts. While pricing starts at $10 (pricier than other competitors), the cost doesn’t increase that much as you scale.

Google Workspace General Features

We gave Google Workspace a perfect score for this category because it comes with complete in-demand productivity tools, such as custom email, video meetings, file storage, group chat, and content management apps. These tools are integrated within the platform, allowing you to juggle multiple tasks within the same browser. For example, you can schedule meetings, start a group chat, and access Drive files right within your Gmail account.

Share Google files, such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides, with chat room members in real time. (Source: Google Workspace )

Here are other features to look forward to with a Google Workspace subscription:

  • Digital whiteboard
  • Meeting recording
  • Forms survey builder
  • Writing assistance
  • Shared cloud storage
  • Advanced chat rooms
  • One-to-one external chat
  • Appointment booking pages
  • Niche Features

When comparing Google Workspace with other leading workspace solutions, this provider got a fairly low score. Missing features include desktop app versions, built-in task management, and flexible document formatting options. It earned extra points due to real-time document collaboration, allowing several users to work on the same file simultaneously and see every change saved automatically.

Click on each feature below for other advanced Google Workspace capabilities:

Named Revisions

When working with Docs, Sheets, and Slides, anyone with edit access can view the changes that have been made to a document. Revision history lets you track content modifications and revert them to a specific version. You can also see the timestamp when the change was made, highlighted in a specific color based on each collaborator, making it easy to tell what has been added or omitted.

Smart Canvas

Smart Canvas is a set of components that enhances collaboration and productivity by linking items to create seamless workflows across Google Workspace. For example, custom building blocks let you create new workflows within Docs by launching an email draft, meeting notes, project task list, or product roadmap. Another example is smart chips that let you surface previews or interactive information from partner applications.

Work Insights

Google Workspace is a reporting tool that delivers insights on how Google Workspace impacts your company’s team collaboration, work patterns, and product adoption. It surfaces organizational data based on Google product usage and analyzes activity trends around meetings, file sharing, and document co-editing. You can also track the most active users, engagement frequency, and repeated app usage.

  • Customer Service

We gave Google Workspace a low score for customer service due to its slow response times and limited support channels. The level of customer support and the speed of response time depends on the chosen subscription plan.

Starter, Standard, and Plus tiers have access to Standard Support. This requires users to submit a support case via Google Cloud Console and has a response service level objective (SLO) of four hours during local business hours. While Enhanced Support offers 24/7 availability, users must wait for a response within one hour. For faster response times, users have to contact the sales team for the cost of Premium support.

  • Ease of Use

Google Workspace earned another 5-star rating, this time for ease of use. Since its platform mainly focuses on key productivity features, many find it less intimidating and more user-friendly. All Google apps maintain a clean and intuitive design that’s easy to get started with among beginner-level users. Collaboration features like Google Meet and Chat are also easy to tap into, allowing users to send messages and start meetings from any Google app.

Google Chat lets you easily add chat room members within your organization. (Source: Google Workspace )

  • Expert Score

For our expert review of Google Workspace, we give this provider a rating of 4.63 because we find it incredibly easy to use and doesn’t overwhelm users with too many features. It delivers a huge value in having all the most widely used office productivity tools in one platform, including email, chat, calendar, and documents. However, it lost a few points as most existing users seek additional tools for task management, team chat, and word processing.

Here are the updated ratings earned by Google Workspace on popular review sites:

  • G2 : 4.6 out of 5 based on 40,548 reviews
  • Software Advice : 4.7 out of 5 based on 11,875 reviews
  • TrustRadius : 9 out of 10 based on 845 reviews

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is google workspace secure.

Yes. Google Workspace implements various security policies to meet compliance requirements and protect its users against data loss and cyber threats. These include data encryption, two-step verification, single sign-on (SSO), phishing protection, and information rights management. All these measures help Google Workspace respond to different threats across its cloud-based ecosystem.

Can I migrate my current email to Google Workspace?

Yes. Google Workspace allows users to transfer email data using its data migration service. The process involves preparing your source account, picking the start date for migration, and selecting which users to include. Migration speed depends on several factors, such as the number of users to be migrated and file size.

Can I purchase a separate Google Workspace app?

No. A Google Workspace subscription includes full access to a collection of integrated apps, such as Gmail, Drive, Meet, Calendar, Chat, and Docs. All Google apps work together seamlessly to streamline workflow. One example is converting a Calendar event to a Google Meet session. However, you have the option to purchase the entire suite and use only the services you need.

Bottom Line

In our Google Workspace review, we give this provider high ratings for pricing, general features, and ease of use. It’s the best office productivity suite for any size business wanting the right balance between cost, functionality, and usability. Although it is not as comprehensive as other leading unified communications like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace offers a powerful solution for companies prioritizing cloud-based sharing and collaboration.

New York Takes Crucial Step Toward Making Congestion Pricing a Reality

The board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority voted to approve a new $15 toll to drive into Manhattan. The plan still faces challenges from six lawsuits before it can begin in June.

Multiple cars are stopped at a traffic light at a Manhattan intersection. A person responsible for controlling traffic stands nearby wearing a yellow reflective vest.

By Winnie Hu and Ana Ley

New York City completed a crucial final step on Wednesday in a decades-long effort to become the first American city to roll out a comprehensive congestion pricing program, one that aims to push motorists out of their cars and onto mass transit by charging new tolls to drive into Midtown and Lower Manhattan.

The program could start as early as mid-June after the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the state agency that will install and manage the program, voted 11-to-1 to approve the final tolling rates, which will charge most passenger cars $15 a day to enter at 60th Street and below in Manhattan. The program is expected to reduce traffic and raise $1 billion annually for public transit improvements.

It was a historic moment for New York’s leaders and transportation advocates after decades of failed attempts to advance congestion pricing even as other gridlocked cities around the world, including London, Stockholm and Singapore, proved that similar programs could reduce traffic and pollution.

While other American cities have introduced related concepts by establishing toll roads or closing streets to traffic, the plan in New York is unmatched in ambition and scale.

Congestion pricing is expected to reduce the number of vehicles that enter Lower Manhattan by about 17 percent, according to a November study by an advisory committee reporting to the M.T.A. The report also said that the total number of miles driven in 28 counties across the region would be reduced.

“This was the right thing to do,” Janno Lieber, the authority’s chairman and chief executive, said after the vote. “New York has more traffic than any place in the United States, and now we’re doing something about it.”

Congestion pricing has long been a hard sell in New York, where many people commute by car from the boroughs outside of Manhattan and the suburbs, in part because some of them do not have access to public transit.

New York State legislators finally approved congestion pricing in 2019 after Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo helped push it through. A series of recent breakdowns in the city’s subway system had underscored the need for billions of dollars to update its aging infrastructure.

It has taken another five years to reach the starting line. Before the tolling program can begin, it must be reviewed by the Federal Highway Administration, which is expected to approve it.

Congestion pricing also faces legal challenges from six lawsuits that have been brought by elected officials and residents from across the New York region. Opponents have increasingly mobilized against the program in recent months, citing the cost of the tolls and the potential environmental effects from shifting traffic and pollution to other areas as drivers avoid the tolls.

A court hearing is scheduled for April 3 and 4 on a lawsuit brought by the State of New Jersey, which is seen as the most serious legal challenge. The mayor of Fort Lee, N.J., Mark J. Sokolich, has filed a related lawsuit.

Four more lawsuits have been brought in New York: by Ed Day, the Rockland County executive; by Vito Fossella, the Staten Island borough president, and the United Federation of Teachers; and by two separate groups of city residents.

Amid the litigation, M.T.A. officials have suspended some capital construction projects that were to be paid for by the program, and they said at a committee meeting on Monday that crucial work to modernize subway signals on the A and C lines had been delayed.

Nearly all the toll readers have been installed, and will automatically charge drivers for entering the designated congestion zone at 60th Street or below. There is no toll for leaving the zone or driving around in it. Through traffic on Franklin D. Roosevelt Drive and the West Side Highway will not be tolled.

Under the final tolling structure, which was based on recommendations by the advisory panel, most passenger vehicles will be charged $15 a day from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. The toll will be $24 for small trucks and charter buses, and will rise to $36 for large trucks and tour buses. It will be $7.50 for motorcycles.

Those tolls will be discounted by 75 percent at night, dropping the cost for a passenger vehicle to $3.75.

Fares will go up by $1.25 for taxis and black car services, and by $2.50 for Uber and Lyft. Passengers will be responsible for paying the new fees, and they will be added to every ride that begins, ends or occurs within the congestion zone. There will be no nighttime discounts. (The new fees come on top of an existing congestion surcharge that was imposed on for-hire vehicles in 2019.)

The tolls will mostly be collected using the E-ZPass system. Electronic detection points have been placed at entrances and exits to the tolling zone. Drivers who do not use an E-ZPass will pay significantly higher fees — for instance, $22.50 instead of $15 during peak hours for passenger vehicles.

Emergency vehicles like fire trucks, ambulances and police cars, as well as vehicles carrying people with disabilities, were exempted from the new tolls under the state’s congestion pricing legislation .

As for discounts, low-income drivers who make less than $50,000 annually can apply to receive half off the daytime toll after their first 10 trips in a calendar month. In addition, low-income residents of the congestion zone who make less than $60,000 a year can apply for a state tax credit.

All drivers entering the zone directly from four tolled tunnels — the Lincoln, Holland, Hugh L. Carey and Queens-Midtown — will receive a “crossing credit” that will be applied against the daytime toll. The credit will be $5 round-trip for passenger vehicles, $12 for small trucks and intercity and charter buses, $20 for large trucks and tour buses, and $2.50 for motorcycles. No credits will be offered at night.

Grace Ashford contributed reporting.

Barnes & Noble workers plan union drive at largest US bookstore chain

Despite pushback from CEO James Daunt, employees are organizing for better pay, ‘dignity’ and working conditions

Workers at America’s largest chain of bookstores are gearing up for a nationwide union drive after six Barnes & Noble outlets voted to organize over the past year.

“Many more” stores will unionize, according to booksellers demanding better pay and conditions.

At locations that already have, employees accuse the chain’s management of dragging their heels during contract negotiations. James Daunt, the CEO, is said to have embarked upon a months-long campaign to dissuade employees from voting in favor.

“He would come in and essentially try to talk us out of unionizing,” said Jessica Sepple, a bookseller for more than two years at Barnes & Noble’s flagship New York City store in Union Square. “The big argument against us unionizing was it would make his life harder, which he would repeat several times. It wasn’t very successful.”

The store voted 76-2 in favor of unionizing last summer, becoming one of three in New York City to join the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union. Another followed in Bloomington, Illinois, while two others – in San Jose, California, and Hadley, Massachusetts – joined other unions.

In a statement, Daunt disputed claims of delays at the negotiating table. He claimed he was in agreement with workers on “the fundamentals” of their demands – but warned of “potential upsides and downsides” to a union.

Barnes & Noble has some 600 stores across the US, and Daunt – who became CEO in 2019 – has worked to turn around the business , which had spent years in decline. It is owned by the investment giant Elliott Management, which also owns Britain’s Waterstones , which is also run by Daunt.

“Our purpose for unionizing is to get some recognition for the dignity of workers,” said Sepple. “And having sat at the table and currently in negotiations with Barnes & Noble, it is disappointing that Barnes & Noble has not treated this as if that dignity is deserved.”

Workers at the Union Square site have experienced several issues for years, she claimed, including lagging wages, safety concerns with ladders and book storage, aggressive customers, and being given more duties than a job initially entailed.

“If you’re good at your job, you’re just going to get more work,” added Sepple. “It takes a lot of knowledge, research and a love of reading and books to make it happen, and oftentimes I’ve found the company tends to coast on that.”

At another New York store, in Brooklyn’s Park Slope, workers won a union election in July 2023.

An older white man wearing a suit and tie leans one elbow on a bookshelf, holding a book curled to his chest with the other hand.

Sydul Akhanji, a bookseller of two years at the store, wants to work at Barnes & Noble for the long term, but says that low pay serves as a deterrent. If the company wants to build itself around knowledgeable booksellers, its workers need to be able to afford rent and food, he said.

Daunt tried to deter workers in Park Slope from unionizing, according to Akhanji, who claimed the chain’s CEO “just went on and on about how it’d be hard and make all his plans complicated, if we unionized, and how he has a vision for us, so please, just don’t unionize right now”.

Workers say contract negotiations have been slowed by Barnes & Noble insisting that demands and asks be referred to company lawyers, who have not been at the table. They have also been frustrated by management negotiating separately with individual New York stores.

after newsletter promotion

On Manhattan’s Upper West Side, workers at Barnes & Noble backed unionizing earlier this month. “We live in the most expensive city in the country,” Esther Rosenfield, a barista at the store, said. “And our starting wage until very recently was minimum wage, and it’s just not sustainable.”

Shortly after her store filed for a union election, Rosenfield said, employees there and at other locations received a $2-an-hour market rate adjustment: “We were told basically that this had nothing to do with the union. But I think people can draw their own conclusions based on just the proximity to when it happened.”

It comes amid tentative signs of a nationwide movement. Workers in Bloomington, Illinois, heard about the union votes in New York last summer, and held their own – and unanimously voted to unionize – in November.

“James Daunt did a conference call to the store himself saying a vote for the union is a vote against him,” claimed a senior bookseller, Zane Crockett. “The issues we’re facing are companywide. We’re all facing the same issues. If one small store in the midwest can unionize, then anyone can..”

Barnes & Noble workers in Bloomington had complained about issues including “skeleton crews”, only to encounter “pretty much crickets”, according to Crockett. When they declared their intent to unionize, he said, executives started visiting the store and asking what they could do improve conditions. “The moment we voted,” he said, “that completely stopped.”

Contacted for comment, Daunt claimed he had only pointed out potential downsides of unionizing to workers in town halls, and disputed criticisms from workers about delays in contract negotiations – characterizing such criticism as evidence of downsides to unions.

“My argument to the booksellers has been very simple: we have no disagreement with the fundamentals of what is being asked for, and indeed have pivoted the company precisely to achieve them,” he wrote. “Only a successful business, after all, can deliver the investments necessary to improve pay and the physical condition of our stores.

“In this endeavor, I see both potential upsides and downsides to the addition of a union. The most obvious potential upside is to have a clearer articulation of bookseller aspirations. Equally, there are potential downsides, notably if it causes unnecessary confrontation between ‘management’ and ‘workers’ and the fact that low-paid booksellers will have to pay significant dues to the union, all other things being equal reducing their pay.”

April Fools' Day pranks: Apps to translate baby stoner sayings, a ghostbuster at Tinder

Every april 1, brands and companies want to get some laughs – and attention – with goofy new 'product' launches. here are some ideas from companies such as sweetgreen, welch's and omaha steaks..

If you don't like Mondays, this one may especially be grating. It's April Fool's Day , when you should trust no one and question everything.

The roots of April Fools' Day may date back before to before the 15th century. But the modern-day April Fools' Day has become a day to prank a friend, family member, co-worker − or your customers.

Even though some companies have had April Fools' pranks backfire , marketers continue to issue spoof products in attempts to get some laughs and attention.

Already ahead of April Fools' Day, 7-Eleven has hinted at a possible prank product: In addition to new Lemon Lime, Green Apple and Sweet Orange flavored 7-Select sparkling waters, out now with partner Miracle Seltzer, there's a fourth flavor coming April 1: Big Bite Hot Dog.

The hot dog-flavored water "combines the mouthwatering experience of 7-Eleven’s iconic Big Bite Hot Dog into one refreshing beverage – ketchup and mustard included," the convenience chain says in a press release . "Say goodbye to the days of alternating bites of a hot dog with sips of a beverage, now those on the go can swap the bun for bubbles."

Krispy Kreme: A special doughnut deal for April Fools' Day

Will Big Bite Hot Dog sparkling water be sold? Its availability will be announced April 1. However, some reporters were sent a can of the drink. USA TODAY can confirm that it definitely smells like hot dog water and has a smoky aftertaste.

If you are interested in trying it, both 7-Eleven and Miracle Seltzer have hinted at having some to give away on their Instagram pages. (If you get a can, share with a friend as it's 16 ounces.)

Here's a roundup of many of the brand-related April Fools’ gag announcements. You've been warned.

Sour cream & onion flavored soda

Despite the proliferation of crazy-flavored products including Peeps-flavored Pepsi , Frank's RedHot sauce-flavored Vlasic pickles and Doritos Nacho Cheese-flavored liquor , healthy soda brand OLIPOP and Pringles are not really teaming up to bring to market a Sour Cream & Onion soda.

The product would have been "a match made in heaven … to bring the delicious, tangy flavor of Pringles’ Sour Cream & Onion flavor to life in liquid form with prebiotic benefits," the companies said.

Stoner lingo translation app

Another dream team prank product: Rosetta Stoned, a mobile app from Rosetta Stone and medical marijuana company Fluent , that "bridges the conversational gap between novice users and seasoned stoners in any social setting."

Da da decoder

Infant equipment site BabyQuip has its own language-bridging lark: the “Baby Translator” app, to decode your baby's secret language.

"Say 'goodbye' to restless nights as you decode your baby's coos and cries instantly, providing you with the understanding you need as a parent, all in one convenient app," it promises.

An AI-powered plush doll

Custom stuffed animal maker Budsies already makes selfie plush dolls with a built-in voice recorder. Its April Fools' spoof: Artificial intelligence-enabled dolls that "come programmed to learn everything about you and to become your new best friend."

A 50-pound Bearabuddy

Sorry to the 3,500 or so who have already signed up to buy Bearaby's Jumbo Benji plush toy, which is four times the size of its regular weighted plush toys and twice as heavy as its heaviest weighted blanket . This isn't actually going to be sold. But it is real and will be making its home in the lobby at The Child Mind Institute in Harlem to welcome children and their families. More weighted plushies are due the day after April Fools' Day, the company says.

A sleeping bag to go bananas over

The Dole Banana Peel Sleeping Bag, conveniently promoted as being available on April Fools' Day only, is made from actual banana fiber and "allows parents to escape into their own cocoon of sensory deprivation."

A full-body cleaning suit

Outrageous clothing company Tipsy Elves has a special product for April Fools' Day: The Mopsie. You don't need paper towels anymore, you can use your body to clean up those messes, with this "innovative, wearable microfiber towel jumpsuit" for "effortlessly soaking up spills and messes with ease." There's also a Baby Mopsie for "hard to reach places."

Korean BBQ deodorant

Kevin's Natural Foods , which has paleo- and keto-certified ready-to-cook and easy-prep entrées, is touting a new line of personal care products inspired by its food dishes including Korean BBQ Deodorant, Cilantro Lime Toothpaste, Lemongrass Basil Shampoo and Tikka Masala Sunscreen.

"These new face, body and hair care essentials will help fans prioritize self-care inside and out," the company says.

Omaha Steaks' meaty sprays

Omaha Steaks has its own personal care prank product: Meaty Spritz sprays with flavors such as Omaha Fog, Hog Haze, and Cock-a-Doodle-Dew.

"The world’s first protein-infused, flavor-packed, portable pump spray … (to) enjoy all the mouthwatering flavors of your Omaha Steaks gourmet favorites no matter how far away from the kitchen you are!" the company says.

Sriracha toothpaste

Asian sauce maker Lee Kum Kee , which makes Sriracha Chili Sauce and Sriracha Mayo Dressing, is introducing – not – its Siracha Mayo Toothpaste. It's "fiery and creamy goodness … is sure to spice up your morning dental routine."

Post-salad dental kit

Need some less powerful toothpaste? Sweetgreen offered these fanciful personal hygiene products as part of its Sweetgreen After Salad Kit, which is "designed with your pearly whites in mind … offering everything you need to freshen up post-meal."

Choose from Miso Ginger Toothpaste, Spicy Cashew Mints, Lime Cilantro Dental Floss, and Sweetgreen Toothbrush and Floss Picks.

Fruit juice lip gloss

More personal care prank products: Welch’s Juicyfuls Juicy Fruit Lip Gloss – now available in five flavors: grape, orange, peach, strawberry and raspberry – made with real juice from Juicefuls fruit snacks so "you get that irresistible sweet flavor you love, all in a lip gloss that's as fun as it is nourishing."

Protein-powered seasonings

Quest Nutrition , maker of protein powder, snacks and other products, has a prank product line of seasonings including All Purpose, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Herb, each of which deliver "21g of protein, 2g of net carbs and less than 1g of sugar."

If you want to try Quest's real products, you can use code NOJOKE for free shipping on online orders over $49 April 1-3.

Superpowered Superfeet?

These would certainly come in hand on a run, but – sorry – it's a jogging joke. Superfeet SuperBoost Power E-Soles gives you 8 hours of continuous battery-powered boost, for almost Iron Man-like propulsion. "All the comfort and support of Superfeet , now with electrifying performance," the company says in a video about the prank product. "It's like having a powerful electric motor in your shoes."

Scotch tape-branded Scotch?

This shenanigan seems like a blend that could stick: Scotch Whisky by Scotch Brand. The whisky "features a nose of cherry wood and a delightfully smooth finish that hits like a well-wrapped gift."

Who you gonna call when ghosted? This new title at Tinder

Dating app Tinder announced a new April Fools' Day hiring quest for a Vice President of Ghost Hunting to help combat "one of dating culture’s most prevalent vices – ghosting," a practice inflicted on 78% of singles already in 2024 (an untrue fact from Tinder).

Patrón's bringing back a beloved liqueur. No kidding.

Patrón patrons get some good news today. The premium tequila maker chose April Fools' Day to announce the return of its Patrón XO Cafe tequila-based coffee liqueur, which was discontinued in 2021. Since production ceased, devotees took to social media and signed a petition asking parent company Bacardi to bring it back.

Made with Patrón Silver tequila and Arabica bean coffee – the dry liqueur can be sipped straight, in cocktails and as dessert topping – Patrón XO Cafe will begin arriving in stores again later this month.

Say it with dead flowers

Don't forget to put roses on your April Fools' Day list. UrbanStems has this "special" delivery, The Dead Inside Collection, "an assortment of dead flower bouquets, dead plants, half empty vases, and more for the pessimist in your life." But, for real, check UrbanStems' social media accounts including Instagram for how to get 20% off an order of real flowers.

Cheesecake Factory's real deals

The Cheesecake Factory  also has a deal that's no joke: Sign up for the chain's Cheesecake Rewards loyalty program on April 1 to get an Any Slice, Half Price reward, redeemable for 50% off any slice of cheesecake or layer cake, with any food or beverage purchase (no gift cards).

Those who were members before April 1 will find something special in their account on Monday, too: either a free slice of cheesecake each month for a year, a free whole cheesecake, a free slice of cheesecake, $5 off $25 purchases, or $10 off $40 purchases. Urban Outfitters launches 'Name Three Shirts' movement

Urban Outfitters said it is launching a global movement to "stand in solidarity against band-tee-shaming" by launching a new collection called "Name Three Shirts."

The t-shirt line "playfully mocks the gatekeeping attitudes of older generations who insist that band-shirt wearers should be required to name songs by those artists," the company said in a news release.

The line, which features revamped logos from bands such as The Grateful Dead, Joy Division and Led Zeppelin, is a "playful jab at the attitudes of older generations, and fights back against the misogynistic undertones of the infamous ‘name three songs’ line of questioning," Urban Outfitters said in the news release.

The collection of shirts is available online and in select Urban Outfitters stores starting April 1. You can shop the collection online here .
