My mom is one of the most important people in my life who has taught me many things which help me throughout my life. Her life experience helps me these days to cope with problems and stay forwards looking. One key lesson she has given me is to love yourself before allowing someone to love me. People are different, and it is important to admit this fact to concentrate on personal achievements without paying attention to the thought of the surrounding. My mom’s favorite book is called ‘The Body Is Not an Apology,’ which shows how people of different races and backgrounds accept their individuality and start loving themselves (Taylor, 2021). I found my aunt very charming, caring and possesses a great personality. She had been a voracious reader and because of that, she was more learned and wise than people of her age. Initially, I thought that how come she spend most of her time reading? Over the time I became close to her, and she started helping me with my studies. She started inspiring me to read books other than my academic books. She read me stories and that help me grow an interest towards books. Then she started telling me amazing stories of our history and showed me which books actually have those histories written

She shared the stories she were reading and thus we started becoming a good critic of stories and writers. She told me more stories that I have heard from anyone else. I am grateful to her that she so painstakingly explained different topics and help me grow a good interest on reading. Because of her contribution, I have started reading books of different types whenever I got time which I think is a better investment and activity than spending time idly

Later I have inspired my nephew to read books. I did the same, I read him stories which would be interesting to him and gave him sweets, candies, ice-cream if he could have finished a book and explain the stories. I guess he has become interested in reading as well.

Introduction

Most primary course books include a unit on families, but they are usually very traditional, with a mum, dad, brother and sister. This lesson provides teachers and primary children with an opportunity to see different kinds of families that might better reflect their own experiences. In this lesson primary children do a series of simple and supported vocabulary and reading activities which lead to them writing about their own families. At the end of the lesson they draw pictures of their families and they make a classroom display of their texts and pictures.

Let’s start with a simple sentence:

3. Immediate and Extended Family

In English, we sometimes draw a line between your immediate family:

• Immediate family –> you, your husband/wife, your children, parents, brothers and sisters

And your extended family:

• Extended family –> uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandparents, grandchildren

Now, you can give more details about the people in your family , like this:

• My immediate family is quite small, because I’m an only child. My mum is one of five children, so I have a lot of cousins, who are kind of like my brothers and sisters.
• There are six people in my immediate family: my parents, my brother and his wife, my sister and me. I have a lot of other relatives, but they live in Canada so we don’t see them often.

4. Talking about Your Children

Do you have children? Let’s see what you can say:

• I have three kids: two girls and a boy.
• We have a newborn son.
• We have one daughter, and my wife’s expecting our second child.

As always, you should add details to make your answers longer and more interesting:

• I have three kids: two girls and a boy. Our eldest daughter has just started secondary school, and the two younger ones are still in primary school.

5. Talking about Your Relationship with Your Family

Finally, let’s add some information about how often you see your family, and what you like to do together. For example:

• I’m very close to my family. We have lunch together every weekend.
• I see my older brother once a week; we play tennis or basketball together.
• I try to spend as much time as possible with my kids.

I don’t have kids yet but I’d like to have a big family one day. I see my parents and my sisters quite often, because we all live near each other, although I don’t see my other relatives that much.

I don’t see my family often because I live in a different country, but I speak to them regularly and we all get together once or twice a year, which is always very noisy but lots of fun.

A person’s family is an integral part of his or her life. Some people have a small family while others are blessed with a large family. I live in a joint family with my grandparents, parents, uncles and aunts as well as my siblings and cousins. All the members of my family love, respect and care for each other. My siblings, cousins and I go to the same school and are always there for each other.

My parents are teachers while my uncles are in the police force. Despite being busy with their jobs, all the elders share the responsibility of doing household chores and do not leave all the burden on the women of the house. My mother also helps us with our studies and homework. 

We have a huge dining table and every night, all the family members sit together to dine. We share our happiness and troubles with each other. If a family member is in some kind of difficulty, other members do their best to help him or her.

The elders always share their wisdom with us and show us the right path. We also love going out together and we go for family outings every once in a while. I am thankful that I am blessed with such a wonderful family.

A family can mean different things to different people. In a traditional sense, it is a group of people related by blood, marriage or adoption living together. Some people have a small family while some others are blessed with a large family. I live in a joint family. My parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts all live together. I also have two siblings and three cousins. We go to the same school and get along very well. 

My parents are teachers while my uncles work in the police force. One of my aunts is a nurse and the other is a housewife. My grandfather used to work in a steel factory and is now retired. All the members of my family love, respect and care for each other. No matter how busy everyone is, we make sure to spend quality time with each other.

All the members share the responsibility of the household chores and do not let the entire burden fall on the women of the house. Being teachers, my parents also tutor us children at home and help us with our homework. 

We have a huge dining table in our living room and every night, all the family members sit together to dine. We share our happiness and discuss our problems with each other. The elders always share their wisdom and guide us in our lives. Whenever my parents or uncles are in some sort of difficulty, they consult my grandparents for their advice.

My grandfather loves to talk about politics and my father and uncles often join him. Oftentimes their opinions don’t match, yet they are very respectful of each other and the difference in their views. My family has taught me how to always be respectful and polite. 

My family loves to go out together and we often go for family outings. Our favourite is a picnic spot near our house where we go almost every two weeks. We also have good relations with our other relatives and they visit us during the holidays. Having a large family is amazing. Even when our parents are busy or out of town, we are never left alone.

There is always someone to take care of us when we fall sick and there is always someone to rely on when we need help. It is said that a person’s family influences their nature, character and personality a lot. I am blessed to have such a wonderful family. It is because of their good influence that I have become a good person.

Everyone needs a family. It’s crucial and very important to any being. We all require one. Family is something we get since the very beginning of our existence. A family is a group of people living for us, by us by the time we’re in existence.

Similarly, I remember little things about them since I was young, and they remember things about me more than I do.

My family has four members, my elder sister, my father, my mother and my grandma. Grandma lives with us, and she has great stories to narrate or her life.

My family has always been very dear to me and writing about it in words is a very difficult thing for me.

We love each other and that’s one thing that keeps us bonded, together and powerful.

My father works in a bank, he works very hard to win the bread for our family. When he gets back from his office, he tells us about the whereabouts and happenings of his day. It’s fun to hear from him, all the time. My mother works from home, she manages a lot of things for us. She handles two things together, the domestic works and her professional career as well. She was a teacher initially, she left job recently and is now working from home. She’s a blogger and she teaches kids in her home tuition classes. She’s inspiring. She’s beautiful and tells us to keep working hard and follow our principles and morals. I also have an elder sister, she’s pursuing her higher education from Delhi University, she was a city topper and she calls me up when I have any query and we talk on the phone. My grandma is very humble, she watches TV and reads in her free time. She’s mostly telling me the stories of gods and kings. It feels great to interact with her, she loves me very much and thinks of me as her baby.

My first school- my Family

My family was my first school its universally accepted families are the first place where kids learn things from.

We derive so many things from our families, the language, the body language, the way we speak, the way we communicate and behave – all of it we learn at home. It’s our parents, our family who mould us since we’re trying to learn things from sources around us.

My Escape- my own space- my family

My family is the most comfortable space for me. I can always be with them in my real self. I don’t have to keep myself guarded when I’m with my family. I’m the most me with my family. They love me with all my flaws and imperfections, they’re the only people loving me unconditionally without any real expectations. They want to love and so do we.

Family is the purest form of relationship, a family gives you such many surreal bonds with people, we build each other and grow together.

I feel really happy about my own space that I get in my family. I’m the happiest and the most comfortable with them.

One should never neglect their families, they’re the people who care for you, and to say they’re your very own people. Be humble and noble to them. A happy family is a key to happy living. Family is one of the greatest gifts of God, let’s value our Family, love people and celebrate their presence.
