Hilton Grand Vacations has yet another timeshare presentation promotion, although only half as good as the last.  Members can book a three-night stay at select Hilton resorts for as little as $179 and earn 25,000 bonus Hilton Honors points along the way. Interested? Let's look at the details.

Hilton Grand Vacations

Many hotel brands have timeshare programs, such as IHG , Wyndham , Choice , and Marriott . Hilton Grand Vacations is the timeshare program for Hilton Hotels. The program has over 180 timeshare resorts in North America, Europe, and Japan — more than what Marriott Vacation Club boasts but less than Wyndham Destinations. When buying into the timeshare program, members receive ClubPoints for Hilton Grand Vacations, separate from Hilton Honors points.

Timeshare properties traditionally have pretty negative reviews. The biggest complaints are that fees routinely increase (despite claims to the contrary), property availability is limited, and getting out of a timeshare contract can be difficult. On the other hand, there exist timeshare owners who like their properties.

One “benefit” of timeshares is the chance to get a very cheap resort stay and a large chunk of points in exchange for attending a timeshare presentation. From time to time, members can book a two-, three-, or even four-night package for between $149 and $299, plus receive up to 75,000 bonus points. The “normal” bonus is 15,000 bonus points for attending a Hilton timeshare presentation, but you may find promotions for 50,000 bonus points at select properties. Right now, we see 25,000.

It's also worth noting that offers may be targeted. If you aren't seeing the best offers, try using an incognito browser or clearing your cookies. Alternatively, pick up the phone and call to ask for the offers you've seen others receive.

Hilton Grand Vacations Timeshare Presentation Offer

Through April 30, 2024, receive 25,000 bonus points when booking one of the following getaways for $179–$199 and agreeing to attend a timeshare package presentation:

  • Las Vegas, NV: The Boulevard, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club offers a three-night stay for $179 .
  • Orlando, FL: SeaWorld Orlando, Tuscany Village, Las Palmeras, or Parc Soleil offer a three-night stay for $179 .
  • New York, NY: New York Hilton Midtown offers a two-night stay for $199 .
  • Southern California: MarBrisa, The Cassara Carlsbad, Hampton Inn Carlsbad, or Homewood Suites by Hilton Carlsbad offer a three-night stay for $199 .
  • Chicago, IL: Hilton Chicago, DoubleTree Magnificent Mile, or Palmer House offer a three-night stay for $199 .

Hilton Grand Vacations Promotion April 2024

Members have 12 months to use the package after booking. Bonus points will credit to the member's account within six to eight weeks of the presentation. These are not tier-qualifying points.

The catch to booking such a cheap vacation and earning 25,000 bonus points is that you must attend a two-hour sales presentation for a timeshare package, and there are minimum requirements for attending the presentation. There is no requirement to purchase a timeshare, but note that the sales pitch can be a hard sell.

Qualifications for Hilton Grand Vacations package presentations

  • Packages are only available to individuals and couples whose combined gross annual income meets certain requirements and who reside in a state where timeshares are registered for sale.
  • Members can only book these packages once every six months and not more than once in 12 months at the same property.
  • Employees of a timeshare company or hotel are ineligible.
  • Married couples must attend the presentation together.
  • This package is only available to solo or couple travelers. Groups are not eligible.

Timeshares aren't for everyone. However, attending a timeshare presentation offers a great opportunity. Booking two to three nights at a resort for as little as $179 and receiving 25,000 bonus points is a nice deal. Just remember that you'll have to sit through the two-hour sales presentation, which might last longer than two hours when you count the time spent saying “no” afterward.

AwardWallet members redeem Hilton Honors points at an average of 0.58¢ each . That means you're getting a huge return earning 25,000 bonus points after spending just $179.

Hilton Grand Vacations is Hilton’s only vacation ownership brand, which makes it one of the most uniquely positioned collections of properties.

In concept, vacation ownership is almost identical to timesharing, which is the process of dividing ownership across units in a property, typically resort condominium units. Multiple parties hold rights to use the property and each owner of the same accommodation is allotted their period. The main difference is that timesharing offers fixed stay periods, while vacation ownership uses a points-based system for more flexibility.

With Hilton Grand Vacations, members redeem ClubPoints for their timeshare stays. But non-owners can often pay cash to stay in the same rooms that timeshare owners have access to. You might be able to book your room directly with Hilton, or you could go through a third-party travel agency such as  Booking.com .

This guide examines the world’s most popular Hilton Grand Vacations properties. Let’s begin!

Hilton Grand Vacations is labeled as a vacation ownership brand publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange and headquartered in Orlando, Florida. There’s no official guidance on how luxurious the properties should be. For example, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is a luxury brand, while Hilton Hotels & Resorts is considered upper-upscale.

On average, Hilton Grand Vacations offers 4-star, upscale to upper-upscale accommodations in around 56 locations worldwide.

With a portfolio ranging from mainstay resort properties in Florida to elegant retreats abroad, such as Japan, the U.K., and Mexico, there’s a lot to love about Hilton Grand Vacations.

And while the amenities may vary across different properties, you will enjoy comfort regardless of which property you stay in.

Hilton Grand Vacations Club Program

Hilton Grand Vacations does not participate in Hilton Honors to the same extent as Hilton’s other brands. Instead, Hilton Grand Vacations has a membership program called HGV Club, short for Hilton Grand Vacations Club.

As an HGV Club member, you receive a set number of ClubPoints annually that can be redeemed at any participating Hilton Grand Vacations hotel or resort. This contrasts with traditional timeshares that restrict you to a specific property, room, and vacation dates. The exact number of ClubPoints you get is outlined in your contract.

ClubPoints are valid for a maximum of 2 years . ClubPoints can be redeemed for HGV stays, luxury travel experiences, and tours like charting a yacht or renting an RV.

Also, you can convert ClubPoints to Hilton Honors at a ratio of 1:25 . Unfortunately, you can’t convert Hilton Honors points to ClubPoints.

You will also not receive many Hilton Honors elite benefits when staying at an HGV property; you will only get complimentary internet and 2 bottles of water during these stays. Also, you won’t accrue bonus Hilton Honors points via credit card spending since HGV stays don’t count as qualifying Hilton Honors stays.

Spacious Accommodations

You’ll typically find accommodations in studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom layouts in Hilton Grand Vacations properties . Using ClubPoints, this will be part of your initial capital investment.

You can choose which room you’d like to book as a non-owner. Because of the suite-style design of each room, you’ll typically enjoy a much larger room footprint than you’d otherwise see in an ordinary hotel room.

In-Room Amenities

Beyond the sheer size of each room, you will typically find many more amenities within your room when staying at Hilton Grand Vacations. In almost all cases, the accommodations will offer spacious living and dining areas, fully-equipped kitchens, washers, and dryers in suites .

Combining these amenities with the upscale nature of each property feels superior to regular full-service properties simply due to the convenience of having a full kitchen and more within the comfort of your room.

On-Property Amenities

Because Hilton Grand Vacations properties are focused on resort destinations, guests usually spend most of their time relaxing at the hotel. The properties, therefore, offer many on-site amenities like pools, spas, exercise facilities, sports courts, video arcades, and numerous restaurants .

Hilton Grand Vacations properties have a lot of activities and amenities to keep you busy and entertained during your stay.

Complimentary Wi-Fi

This might seem like a given in today’s age of connectivity, but it’s still worth discussing the fact that you get free Wi-Fi throughout your stay. If you’re staying at a resort property, particularly internationally, it may be difficult to access reliable Wi-Fi.

Furthermore, some non-chain hotels may charge for Wi-Fi — or worse, they might not offer it.

One of the benefits of staying at a property within the Hilton portfolio is the extensive operational benefits you enjoy, including fast, free Wi-Fi.

Flat-Screen TVs, Cable TV/DVD, and Upgraded Audio Systems

You can technically lump the entertainment systems into the in-room amenities, but Hilton Grand Vacations distinguishes these from the other amenities.

When you stay in a Hilton Grand Vacations property, you will have many sophisticated in-room entertainment amenities, including deluxe sound systems and all the amenities you might need to kick back and relax in peace.

As you can probably imagine, the U.S. market is the largest for Hilton Grand Vacations (and timeshares in general). All of the most popular Hilton Grand Vacations locations are in the U.S.

While there are more than 50 Hilton Grand Vacations properties, the most popular are primarily in Las Vegas, Florida, and Hawaii . There are often many different vacation ownership properties within a given city, so you’ll want to pay special attention to each property’s name.

While HGV properties can be booked directly through Hilton using Hilton Honors points or points + cash, these are often at egregious Premium Room Rewards rates and may not be the best value for your hard-earned points.

Let’s dive deeply into the world’s most popular Hilton Grand Vacations properties!

1. Elara, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club (Las Vegas, Nevada)

If you’re considering staying here, expect to pay anywhere from $145 to $285 per night, with an average of $200 per night.

4. Las Palmeras, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club (Orlando, Florida)

Las Palmeras, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club

Las Palmeras, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club , continues with the immense popularity of Orlando’s Hilton Grand Vacations resorts. Las Palmeras is a smaller HGV property relative to its 30+ acre peers, but it’s still a sprawling complex by all objective measures.

Las Palmeras is located on Universal Boulevard, and it’s less than a 10-minute walk from the Orange County Convention Center, 2 miles from SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium , and 5 miles from Universal Orlando Resort.

Considered a more understated resort, Las Palmeras offers rooms with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a sitting area, a balcony, a kitchenette, a minifridge, a microwave, and at least 420 square feet.

At the resort, you’ll enjoy a fitness room, an outdoor lagoon-style pool with a waterslide , 3 meeting rooms, an on-site Italian restaurant, a poolside bar, and a lounge bar.

Perhaps you stay frequently enough at a certain hotel or destination that you've started to wonder whether to join a timeshare program. Many major hotel chains offer this option, which provides partial ownership of a hotel or resort and a guaranteed way to vacation. Hilton is no stranger to this type of program, and the Hilton Grand Vacation Club provides customers with the ability to use dedicated points for stays around the world.

But is the Hilton Grand Vacation Club worth it? Let’s take a look at Club Hilton Grand Vacations and how it's different from Hilton's loyalty program. Once you know how much Hilton timeshares cost, you'll be able to decide whether they’re worth it for you.

How the Hilton Grand Vacation Club works

Timeshare programs vary, but Hilton’s method includes the ability to use ClubPoints to book your stays. Each year you pay for a specific number of ClubPoints, which can then be redeemed at one of Hilton’s Grand Vacation Club properties.

Otherwise, you can elect to exchange your points to stay at one of RCI’s 4,200 locations or choose to redeem them for cruises, houseboat rentals and guided tours.

The cost of being a member will depend on how many ClubPoints you’d like to purchase, meaning the more points you buy, the more vacations you can take.

So, how much is a Hilton Grand Vacation Club membership? On average, the price to become a member is $22,000, though keep in mind that you’ll also have to pay recurring annual fees.

If you don’t end up using your points one year, you can bank them for the next year. Similarly, if you want to take a vacation that costs more than the points you have available, you can borrow points from your future balance to fund your trip.

Hilton offers frequent deals for those interested in learning more about their timeshare program. These specials can include discounted travel packages, a bonus of Hilton points and even a $200 free night certificate. To obtain these offers, you’ll need to commit to attending a two-hour timeshare presentation at some point during your stay.

Hilton Honors points vs. Hilton Grand Vacation Club points

Hilton Honors is the loyalty program for standard Hilton hotels. These include more than 6,800 properties worldwide, all of which can be booked using your Hilton Honors points.

ClubPoints, the currency you’ll receive as a Hilton Grand Vacation Club owner, isn't inherently usable at Hilton hotels. As we mentioned above, you can redeem these at different Hilton Grand Vacation Club properties or exchange them for RCI-redeemable points.

However, it is also possible to convert your ClubPoints directly into Hilton Honors points. You may want to do this if you’re looking at a location where there isn’t a Hilton Grand Vacation resort, or if you aren’t able to use your ClubPoints before they expire.

Hilton Honors points don’t expire as long as you’ve had activity on your account within the past 24 months. Activity can consist of many things, including earning and redeeming points.

The ratio at which you can convert your ClubPoints to Hilton Honors points varies depending on when you’re booking your stay, as noted recently in several blogs. You’ll want to check with a customer service representative to confirm the rate you’ll receive before taking any action.

Where you can use your Hilton Grand Vacation Club points

There are thousands of places in which you can redeem your ClubPoints, including Hilton’s 55 Vacation Club properties.

These hotels and resorts are located in a wide variety of locations around the world. Many of them offer different layouts, including studios, one-bedroom or two-bedroom units. For example, there are multiple Hilton Grand Vacation Club options within Las Vegas, including the Hilton Grand Vacations Club on The Boulevard , where you’ll find units with as many as three bedrooms.

You can book many Hilton Grand Vacation Club properties with your standard Hilton Honors points. You don’t have to use ClubPoints.

If Vegas isn’t your style, how about a tropical vacation? The Grand Waikikian by Hilton Grand Vacations Club in Honolulu is an all-suite resort located near the beach. Or, if you’re looking for something a little closer to home, you could opt for the Hilton Grand Vacations at Anderson Ocean Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

All of this is to say that there are plenty of options for using ClubPoints. If you’re feeling especially adventurous, you may even decide to redeem points for a trip to the Galapagos, rent an RV for a cross-country tour or embark on a whitewater rafting trip.

» Learn more: The pros and cons of the Hilton loyalty program

Should I join the Hilton Grand Vacation Club?

Whether you should buy into a timeshare program is a personal decision. We’ve all heard the stories of people who purchased a timeshare and were unable to make use of it, losing both time and money each year.

If you’re a regular traveler who is interested in having dedicated time off each year, buying into the Hilton Grand Vacation Club may be worth it for you. This is true if you’d like to take advantage of the variety of redemption options available to you as an owner.

However, it’s difficult to recommend timeshares to most people, as their ongoing costs and lack of flexibility can hinder many would-be owners. As an alternative, consider using reward points to fund your travel. These can come in the form of Hilton Honors points, but can also include the ability to earn and redeem points with many other hotel chains.

Reward points grant flexibility and give you greater access to a variety of properties (like those 6,800 Hilton hotels worldwide), but be aware that redeeming points is reliant upon award availability.

The Hilton Grand Vacation Club does its best to provide value to its owners, but whether you’ll find it to be worth it depends on your vacation style, the amount you travel and any alternative options from which to choose.

150K Hilton Timeshare Presentation Offer

Breaking Down The Value

This is a pretty substantial offer and one of the best timeshare presentation offers I have seen. Even though it looks good, remember to always ask for more. You never know what they may be able to add on, like more points or a bigger room etc. I wanted to also point out that in my experience you will earn Hilton points on the stay too, unless booked to stay at the timeshare property. Since they reimburse the hotels for your reservation it looks like a paid stay to the hotel.

I value Hilton Honors points at around $0.0045 each; they are definitely not the most valuable points. Even at that meager valuation the 150,000 points are worth $675 to me. That covers the cost of the room in all bit the Maui package. You could even make a nice “profit” with the $299 bookings.

That is before you even taken into account that these rates are greatly reduced compared to normal booking rates. I did some random dummy bookings for the Hawaii properties and they were coming out close to $1,500 with taxes and fees. That means you are getting around half off on the stay plus enough points to more than cover your out of pocket cost.

The downside is that you do need to sit through a 2 hour presentation. If you are super up front about why you are there it will probably be shorter than that. If you have kids they usually have a supervised play room for them to hang out in during the presentation. That is what we did with our kids last time.

150K Hilton Timeshare Presentation Offer: ToP Thoughts

I am very tempted by this offer, as I imagine other Hilton Diamond members are. I have to see if I can convince my wife to sit through another one of these presentations. If you are worried about finding dates that work I would call them first before paying to see if your choice matches up with your dates. The phone number on the site is 888-963-2612 . If you weren't targeted it may be worth calling and asking if you can get in on the deal anyway. They usually will offer you up something, even if not the exact same deal.
