1. लेखिका बचपन में इतवार की सुबह क्या क्या काम करती थीं?

उत्तर: लेखिका बचपन में इतवार की सुबह ये कार्य किया करती थी जैसे जूतों को   पोलिश करना, मोज़ो व स्टाकिंगों को धोना।

2. 'तुम्हे बताऊंगी कि हमारे समय और तुम्हारे समय में कितनी दूरी हो चुकी है। इस बात के लिए लेखिका क्या क्या उदाहरण देती है?

उत्तर: ‘हमारे समय और तुम्हारे समय में कितनी दूरी हों चुकी है इस बात से लेखिका कहती है कि अब बचपन की रूचियाँ बदल चुकी।अब कुल्फी की जगह आइसक्रीम, कचौड़ी समोसा की जगह पेटीज़ लेती जा रही है। शहतूत और फाल्से और खसखस के शरबत कोक और पेप्सी में बदल गए हैं। आज कल ग्रामोफ़ोन की जगह हर घर में रेडियो और टेलीविज़न आ गए हैं। 

3. पाठ से पता करके लिखो कि लेखिका को चश्मा क्यों लगाना पड़ा? चश्मा लगाने पर उनके चचेरे भाई क्या कहकर चिढ़ाते थे?

उत्तर: लेखिका को चश्मा इसलिए लगाना पड़ा क्योंकि रात में टेबल लैंप की रोशनी में काम करने से लेखिका की आँखों की रोशनी कमज़ोर हो गई थी । चश्मा लगाने पर उनके चचेरे भाई उन्हें ये कहकर चिढ़ाते थे कि-

आँख पर चश्मा लगाया

ताकि सूझे दूर की

यह नहीं लड़की को मालूम

सूरत बनी लंगूर की।

4. लेखिका अपने बचपन में कौन-कौन-सी चीजें मज़ा ले - खाती थीं? उनमें से प्रमुख फलों के नाम लिखो। 

उत्तर: लेखिका बचपन में अनारदाना का चूर्ण तथा चॉकलेट बहुत मज़े से खाती थी। उनमें से प्रमुख फलों के नाम कुछ इस प्रकार है-रसभरी, कसमल और काफ़ल।

संस्मरण से आगे

1. लेखिका के बचपन में हवाई जहाज़ की आवाजें, घुड़सवारी, ग्रामोफोन और शोरूम में शिमला कालका ट्रैन का मॉडल ही आश्चर्यजनक आधुनिक चीज़े थीं। आज क्या क्या आश्चर्यजनक आधुनिक चीजें तुम्हें आकर्षित करती हैं? उनके नाम लिखो ।

उत्तर: वर्तमान में मुझे डिजिटल घड़ी, मेट्रो ट्रैन, मिसाइल, बुलेट ट्रेन, मोबाइल आकर्षित करती हैं।

2. अपने बचपन की कोई मनमोहक घटना याद करके विस्तार से लिखो ।

उत्तर . मेरे बचपन की सबसे मनमोहक घटना यह है कि एक बार मैं अपने पिताजी के साथ गणतंत्र दिवस पर परेड देखने गया था वहाँ मैंने कई प्रकार की मिसाइल और झाँकिया देखी तथा पिताजी ने मुझे उन सभी के कार्य के बारे में बताया।

अनुमान और कल्पना 

1. सन 1935-40 के लगभग लेखिका का बचपन शिमला में अधिक दिन गुज़रा। उन दिनों के शिमला के विषय में जानने का प्रयास करो।

उत्तर: सन 1935-40 के लगभग लेखिका का बचपन शिमला में अधिक दिन गुज़रे लेकिन उस समय शिमला ज्यादा विकसित नहीं हुआ करता था उस समय शिमला में रेस्तराँ खुलना शुरू हुए थे। तब शिमला में अच्छे रास्ते नहीं थे इसलिए लोगों को दूसरी जगह जाने के लिए बहुत चढ़ाई करनी होती थी। शिमला रिज पर घुड़सवारी हुआ करती  थी और वहाँ एक स्कैंडल पॉइंट भी हुआ करता था।

2. लेखिका ने इस संस्मरण में सरवर के माध्यम से अपनी बात बताने की कोशिश की है, लेकिन सरवर का कोई परिचय नहीं दिया है अनुमान लगाओ कि सरवर कौन हो सकता है?

उत्तर: लेखिका ने इस संस्मरण में सरवर के माध्यम से अपनी बात बताने की कोशिश की है,मेरे अनुमान से सरवर उनका कोई दोस्त या सहकर्मचारी हो सकता है जिसका कोई परिचय नहीं दिया गया  है।

भाषा की बात :

1. क्रियाओं से भी भाववाचक संज्ञाएँ बनती हैं। जैसे मरना से मार, काटना से काट, हारना से हार, सीखना से सीख, पलटना से पलट और हड़पना से हड़प आदि भाववाचक संज्ञाएँ बनी हैं। तुम भी इस संस्मरण से कुछ क्रियाओं को छाँटकर लिखो और उनसे भाववाचक संज्ञा बनाओ।

उत्तर: 

2. चार दिन कुछ व्यक्ति, एक लीटर दूध आदि शब्दों के प्रयोग पर ध्यान दो तो पता चलेगा कि इसमें चार, कुछ और एक लीटर शब्द से संख्या या परिमाण का आभास होता है, क्योंकि ये संख्यावाचक विशेषण हैं। इसमें भी चार दिन से निश्चित संख्या का बोध होता है, इसलिए इसको निश्चित संख्यावाचक विशेषण कहते हैं और कुछ व्यक्ति से अनिश्चित संख्या का बोध होने से इसे अनिश्चित संख्यावाचक विशेषण कहते हैं। इसी प्रकार एक लीटर दूध से परिमाण का बोध होता है इसलिए इसे परिमाणवाचक विशेषण कहते हैं।

अब तुम नीचे लिखे वाक्यों को पढ़ो और उनके सामने विशेषण के भेदों को लिखो - 

(क) दो किलो अनाज दे दो। -निश्चित संख्यावाचक विशेषण 

(ख) मुझे दो दर्जन केले चाहिए।-निश्चित परिमाणवाचक विशेषण

(ग) सभी लोग हँस रहे हैं।- अनिश्चित संख्यावाचक विशेषण

(घ) कुछ बच्चे आ रहे हैं।- सार्वनामिक विशेषण

(ड) तुम्हारा नाम बहुत सुंदर है।- गुणवाचक विशेषण

3. कपड़ों में मेरी दिलचस्पी मेरी मौसी जानती थीं।

इस वाक्य में मेरी शब्द दिलचस्पी और मौसी संज्ञाओं की विशेषता बता रहे हैं, इसलिए ये सार्वनामिक विशेषण हैं। सर्वनाम कभी कभी विशेषण का काम भी करते हैं पाठ में से ऐसे पाँच उदाहरण छाँटकर लिखो।

उत्तर:  

(¡) छुटपन में 'हमने' शिमला रिज पर बहुत मज़ें किए हैं।

 (ii)  'हमारा' घर माल से ज्यादा दूर नहीं था।

(iii) मुझे ‘अपने’ मोज़े और स्टॉकिंग भी याद है।

(iv) 'मैंने' रंगों की जमा कर ली है।

(v) जहाँ 'मेरा' पहला चश्मा बना था। 

कुछ करने को 

1. अगर तुम्हें अपनी पोशाक बनाने को कहा जाये तो कैसी पोशाक बनाओगे और पोशाक बनाते समय किन बातों का ध्यान रखोगे? अपनी कल्पना से पोशाक का डिज़ाइन बनाओ।

उत्तर: मैं अपने लिए एक पारम्परिक वेशभूषा बनाऊँगी । पोशाक बनाने से पहले डिज़ाइन  तैयार कर लेना चाहिए। पोशाक बनाते समय उसमें विभिन्न रंगो के सुई- धागे का सही प्रकार से प्रयोग करना होगा।

2. तीन - तीन के समूह में अपने साथियों के साथ कपड़ों के नमूने इक्क्ठा करके कक्षा में बताओ। इन नमूनों को छूकर देखो और अंतर महसूस करो। यह भी पता करो कि कौनसा कपड़ा किस मौसम में पहनने के लिए अनुकूल है?

उत्तर: सूती कपड़ा = गर्मी

ऊनी कपड़ा = सर्दी

ऊनी कपड़े मोटे एवं ऊष्मीय होते हैं तथा सूती कपड़े हल्के और मुलायम होते हैं।

3. हथकरघा और मिल के कपड़े बनाने के तरीकों के बारे में पता करो। संभव हों तो किसी कारखाने में जाकर भी जानकारी इक्क्ठा करो।

उत्तर: हथकरघा और मिल के कपड़े बनाने का तरीका यह है कि इसमें कताई एवं बुनाई का प्रयोग किया जाता है। कताई में रुई से धागा बनाया जाता है तथा बुनाई में धागे से कपड़ा बनाया जाता है।

4. हमारे देश में तरह-तरह के भोजन, तरह तरह की पोशाकें प्रचलित हैं। कक्षा के बच्चे और शिक्षक इनके विविध रूपों के बारे में बातचीत करें।

उत्तर: हमारे देश में तरह-तरह के भोजन, तरह तरह की पोशाकें प्रचलित हैं उसी प्रकार व्यंजन भी।जैसे- चूरमा , दाल - बाटी, लिट्टी चौका , बाजरे , मक्के की रोटी , कबाब , कचौड़ी, आदि प्रसिद्ध है। प्रचलित पोशाक धोती-कुर्ता, साडी, सूट, कुर्ता-पजामा, एरी चादर, शॉल आदि।
